She treats you like you are in a kindergarden class. She always has this annoying smile on her face too. PICK ANOTHER PROFESSOR!!!!!
NEVER TAKE A CLASS WITH HER!! she misses like ten days out of the semester and still expects you to be caught up on work. Will miss they two days before having a paper due and still expect it to be due...ugh
She's not that bad, but kinda annoying. She missed some days, but let our class turn in stuff late all the time! I turned in my last paper through e-mail. The class itself is so easy. All you do is read alot and right papers

OK professor missed a frw days and let class out late alot shes kinda helpful with the reading shes a ok professor
This teacher is the worst ever, she gives out so many papers and grades everything at the middle of the semester then at the end, you can tell if she likes you or not, shes very unfair and does not take anything late unless your hospitalized and about to die and she picks at every single mistake
She is the worst explainer. Drop her class before you get stuck with such a witch.l

One of the worst teacher I've ever had. I would never recommend taking a class with her. No one in my class recieved a decent grade.
have that operation and get it over with. bigger shoulders than my bf. and she cant teach either. creeped me out in her office discussing my essay. now who hired someone like her? did they really need a woman linebacker?
She is nice...atleast she was online. I just wasn't clear on everything she was teaching, and I didn't like the timelines that she gave us. To much material crammed into a semester.
Took this online and had zero problems. The course is outlined clearly and has a fair amount of work for the semester. Read over all of the material, meet the deadlines, and ASK for help if you need it. This is not any easy "A". If you get an "A" in her class, you definitely worked for it.

She is one of the bestteachers I've ever had. Not only was her course fun and interesting she always asked us how we were doing outside of class. She genuinely cared about her students and wanted them to succeed. Take womens studies with her. You won't regret it!!!!
Dr. S is an amazing teacher..She treats all the students as individuals and doesn't knock students for having different their own ideas/beliefs. Come to her class, with an open-mind!
Dr.S. is a great professor. She's fair in her expectations and will give help to anyone who needs it, if they ASK! There is a lot of work, but she goes out of her way to ensure that students understand the material. Her class is always interesting, often fun. Plus, she's very cute. I would definitely take another class with her.
Everything is sexual in her class in some way. Managed to find every gay and 'gendered' part of the stuff we read. I'll puke if I hear the word gendered again. Fine if you like long boring silences in class where she waited for us to find these parts.
DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER! Received unfair grades because her expectations were not clearly described in her assignments. Didn't return grades for assignments in a timely manner, therefore you have no idea what your total grade is until it's too late to make up for it.
I am taking this course online and this professor is so rude. She stresses how she will help with anything, yet when you ask a question she gives a very snobby response. Tries to make you feel stupid. She is by far the rudest professor I've ever had.
This professor is the most horribly rude, ignorant person that I ever had to deal with in life. She obviously has to put other people down so far or make them feel so bad about themselves that she feels better about herself. DO NOT TAKE ANY OF HER CLASSES, YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!! LISTEN TO MY WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!

Very impersonal, did not like the class at all. I had to drop it.
Even tho I failed this class..it was NOT her fault..she gave out a packet w/dates, and descriptions of required content. she would meet w/you whenever she could. She even let you turn in late work, no matter how late..The reason I failed was b/c I DIDN'T turn things in when I was alowed more time..She was a little strange, but very helpful I though
I have much to say about this professor. I am very surprised that she still has a job at AACC. Never in all the semesters at AACC, did I have an issue with one teacher. This was a 6 week summer course. She got off to a three day late start. She really had no syllabus. I am limited to 350 words here so just do not take this class. She is horrible!!!
i tried to give her the benefit of the doubt. unfortunately, my experiance has been below expectations. serious inconcistency, poor choices for reading assignments, vague directions and criticisms...i feel like i am not learning anything and i am certainly not enjoying a class that should be enjoyable. i'm disapointed. if you have a choice, no.
she is not bad, just ask for help and she will give you help.
Certainly doesn't deserve the personal attacks. Nice enough and tries to be helpful. I felt like I had to give her what she wanted to hear, rather than what I really thought about some of the readings though.
I thought she was helpful. But I do agree with one commenter, that I had to give her what she wanted to hear.
she was the best. She was very creative with her essay assignments. The class was very enjoyable. All that matters was the participation. As long as you participate you have an easy A. For the essays, her comments were very very very helpful, makes you a good writer. And if you did not got the grade you wanted, you can always do extra credit!!!!
I took this class online. There are alot of response questions that you re asked to complete. Overall, there is alot of work that she asks you to do. The papers for the class are confusing. She allows you to work at your own pace for the most part. If you are not a good writer, then dont take her.
If you are self starter and VERY good at managing time, then you may be able to get through this class (online). She is very tardy in communication- I asked a question a week before a project was due and she responded 1 day before it was due.very little feedback on class discussion (necessary for online class). Very biased;assignments reflect that
Very late with email responses, and doesn't answer questions thoroughly, at least mine anyway. Seems like a nice enough teacher through the online class. Papers are confusing, managed to get 2 A's, and then an F somehow.
This teacher is horrible! DO NOT take her class if you can avoid it. She took a week and a half to respond to an email once and didn't even asnwer my question. I don't think she even understood the curriculum the college gave her. I would get an A on one assignment then a D on the next? She was also very confusing with her feedback.
Queer studies should be listed as an honor's course. Don't take it if you are expecting a free ride. With that caveat, it is an incredibly engaging and thought-provoking course. There are a lot of writing assignments, but rather than feeling cumbersome, they augmented the exploration of concepts Professor Sikorski facilitated in class.
Very interesting and dynamic class. Don't take it for an easy A but as long as you apply yourself you should be set.
she is very sweet and real nice. all you have to do is write like 4 papers but theyre all easy. all classes are basicaly discussion and she doesnt lecture you she talks with you. i really liked her and i wld totally take her class again.
After I asked a question to clarify something in the syllibus she bit my head off and made me feel stupid for asking a simple question. She was rude and extremely demanding!!! After I read all of the comments I dropped the class, I can not afford for my GPA to drop below a 3.8! She does not have a positive environment learning and is very rude!!
Still taking this class and I'd have to say that the negative comments aren't warranted. A lot of the class isn't doing good but it's because they aren't doing the work. I've followed the syllabus and turned in everything on time and am aceing the class.
Professor Sikorski is an okay teacher. I took her online LGBT studies and you can tell she doesn't take time to grade your papers efficiently. She's not crystal clear on instructions. If you turn everything in on time, you should get an "A". Don't email her, because she doesn't respond in a timely manner at all. Overall she's okay.
I wish I would have visited this site first, I would have never taken it with her. She does not respond in a timely matter and when she finally decides too she is very short and comes off as rude/snobby. Her assignments are biased as if we are not good enough to be on her level. DONT take her classes!!!!!
She is one of the worst teachers I have ever had. I talked to a few other students in the class and they said they weren't pleased with her either. She is horrible at responding back to you, highly unclear instructions, and very rude.
I actually thoroughly enjoyed this class, and I took it online. If you are self-sufficient and LOOK at the calendar and realize deadlines, you will be fine. It was a very interesting course. I agree that she is not the quickest responder, but I personally did not have more than one question to ask.
I took her LGBT studies class this semester. She is a very effective teacher. There was alot of material that she helped me understand and enjoy learning about. i strongly recomend her on-campus classes.
Too uptight, not fun and enjoys intimidating her students
She seems nice at first, however she isn't! She is rude and treats her students like you are less than her. She doesn't explain her assignments clearly what so ever! You ask a question and she does not answer them. She is also very picky if you make an honest mistake she will accuse you of plagiarizing your work. She is a terrible teacher!
I took Dr. Sikorski's LGBT course in the Fall 2011 and she is the only professor I would ever want to take this course with! She got this course to our school! She is very understanding, intelligent, and fun! We used the text a lot and had homework due each week, but she is not a tough grader! She challenges her students to think outside the box!
In consistent in grading. Way too much homeworks. Don't take her class.
This teacher was not helpful at all. She was very rude and disrespectful. She never answers your questions clearly and critique every little thing. She is not a teacher that I would recommend to any student! I feel the college needs to re evaluate this teacher before she teaches another class.
She is completely off her rocker! If you do not do well in her class she doesn't even give you chance to pass especially if you have family issues! She doesn't help you one bit!
I had Sikorski in '04 or so. It was enough of an experience that I care to comment on it now. Basically I learned that all college professors have an agenda to push, and I learned to tailor papers to suit their feelings on topics rather than doing any real research. Now back at school(GI bill, Towson)I stand up to Politically Correct Mistreatment.
Very sweet. And funny. Great class
Dr. Sikorski is very strict; she holds each one of her students responsible for the completion of assigned work, there are no excuses. She is academically tough and at the same time brilliant as an educator - which is where most people get intimidated by her because the process requires expressing thoughts - and that's hard for some people.
I have always done very well in English. Her class was the first class I ever received a grade less than a C on a paper in the history of ever. I was going to drop the class, but was unable to. The assignments were always exactly the same. Once I got a feel of what she was looking for I succeed, but that one bad grade really hurt my overall grade.
I took her class twice. the first time got an F, two years later got an A. I can honestly say that it was a matter of my own maturity. if your not in for a liberal arts education that challenges you, don't take the class, but I got a lot out of it the second time around.. and I found the professor relatable and pleasant(the 2nd time)
This course was a bit difficult. There is a lot of reading and a lot of writing assigments. She expects you to actually think about the text and analyze it thoroughly. If you are prepared to do a lot of reading, writing, and THINKING you will do well. Her grading was fair and I thought she was great for the online course I took.
I took her class online. She was great. Every assignment and discussion forum, she explained what she wanted very thoroughly. I loved the class and would take it again. I was very pleased with the course. It was difficult and challenging in a lot of parts but that's what made the class more interesting and made you work hard for what you wanted.
It does not matter how amazingly written a paper is. If you overlook even one minor detail in the instructions, you will fail and will not be given a clear explanation as to how you were graded. She does not give any feedback until your final submissions, you rely on classmate feedback. Instructions are frequently unclear as others have stated.
Never take the class with her. Beginning of the class, we have more than 20 classmates in the class. However, only nine students left after 3 weeks and I think only four students pass in the class.
I totally agree she was very very rude and extremely demanding. She does not have a positive environment learning and is very rude.
Worst professor I have ever experienced. Probably the most rude and cold hearted individual I have ever encountered in my life. Does not realize her students are human beings just as she is. She is also a very tough grader, not fair at all. I would not recommend her to anyone, I am not even sure why the college is keeping her around.
Where do I start? I don't know about other courses she has taught but for this particular online English class, she's rude, unhelpful, and a really harsh grader. You have to meet just the "minimum" requirements of her assignments just to pass (above a 50%).
one of the worst teacher I have ever had. She is horrible, highly unclear instructions, and very rude.
She was the worst professor I've had. Pretentious, rude, disrespectful. She's not even-keeled, she holds grudges, and does not listen to feedback with an open mind. She is unclear in her assignments and expects more than she asks. I would never take a class with her again and I hope AACC will soon rid themselves of this awful excuse for a professor
This instructor has forgotten that she is suppose to be instructing. Sure she's very knowledgeable about the course content, however she is either very terrible at teaching or unwilling to help students better understand the literary genre. She is a very harsh grader and when she does comment to you directly she is quite often condescending.
She grades harshly and seems to operate under the impression that her students don't have other classes. She can be helpful, but more often than not she doesn't communicate her expectations of certain assignments well, especially the final capstone project. Her requirements as a whole are that of a more advanced course than ENG112.
She is the worst professor I have ever dealt with, she doesn't understand the concept of teaching. If you don't accept what she says, she doesn't care. She isn't willing to help you learn from your mistakes, well without failing. If you turn in the work early, and its wrong, she gives you no credit and says better luck next time.
GREAT PROFESSOR!
I took LGBT Studies with Prof. Sikorski and I thought she was an easy grader. As long as you did what you was asked of you in the rubric, you did your reading and put effort in the work you submitted, you were almost guaranteed full credit on assignments. A lot of work, but none of it was hard and it was super interesting!
This professor isnt willing to work with you. She tells you your mistakes, then says better luck next time. She doesnt take inconsideration that you have other classes. The grading criteria is way beyond ENG 112, if you dont pass the minimum criteria it wouldnt matter if you wrote a stellar essay, you would still fail. she doesnt teach, only grades
I really liked this professor. I felt that she was very easy as long as you put the effort in. The reviews are shocking, actually. You earn your grades, this isn't high school.
This professor is a no-go! Do not take her!! She doesn't give any good feedback-just tells you what you do wrong. She is a very tough grader when it comes to your Projects. She also acts like her class is the only class her students are taking. The amount of readings she gives in such a short amount of time is crazy. Avoid her at all costs!
HORRIBLE. Grades way above the level of ENG112. Never has anything good to say about a paper turned in. Gave me a C on my final because I didnt stay the whole two hours... (I finished early and left, which is allowed). Talks the whole class about nonsense.
She was nice at first, but as the semester went on and we had problems with weather and other things that stopped us from getting to class she got passive aggressive to the point of rudeness. She never gave quality feedback on papers, just highlighted things. The only grades you get are on 4 papers, so if you tank one say goodbye to your grade.
Even though the syllabus doesn't say it you're graded by showing up to class. It's not in your grade calculation on paper, but she will use it against you when ready. In class she talks about dumb stuff not related to the papers. Why is she still working there?
Tough class, really enjoyed the material, make sure you have the extra time to read through material! Not an easy add-on class if you aren't willing (or able) to sacrifice a lot of time!
This is not the type of class you can put half your effort into and expect to pass. That being said, if you take the time to do the reading and follow the directions for the assignments, you will have no trouble passing this class. She's a great professor and I thoroughly enjoyed this class. Highly recommended if you are willing to do the work!
Professor Sikorski is an intellect. She uses lectures often and asks questions to promote class discussions. Although I do think she is an overall great professor, she does tend to show passive aggressiveness in her email if something does not go as planned or is not as timely as she would prefer. Otherwise, she is a professor I would recommend!
At first, she seemed like a kind and caring professor. However, we are 5 weeks in, and we -- the class as a whole -- have received TWO passive aggressive e-mails from her (this week alone). Her instructions are unclear at best, she's a tough grader, and really rude.
I had taken her before and I understood she was a tough grader, but I had a more pleasant time taking ENG112 with her. However, she tends to get snotty when you don't do things here way. Grade is based on 4 papers so if you do poorly on one of them, your grade will suffer tremendously. Don't take her courses if you can't take rude criticism.
HORRIBLE PROF! She was so nice at first then she because very rude. After i sent her a message asking her to explain a failing grade she sent me a really snarky message, then sent 4 messages to the class that were so rude as well. She grades as though you are writing a book in your senior year at Harvard. Avoid at all costs!
The professor never really gave you words of encouragement, after submitting an assignment she would post saying how we didnt understand the assignment and that we were below her other classes. On top of that she would say what we did wrong and just repeat what the assignment was instead of explaining what we did wrong and how we can fix it .
she is very rude, belittling, unclear and very confusing at all times. She blames the class if we don't understand her (class has a low overall grade of an A according to her) She gives poor grades when it matters most and she doesn't give personalized feedback, just long, generic feedback that doesn't help you. She's full of herself for sure!
HORRIBLE. please save yourself from taking this professor. ive never been so belittle by a professor. please do not take this professor. good luck if you do.
She complained that you are doing the min by following the directions and gives you a basic grade which is contradictory because she wanted you to go beyond the instructions and if you missed a single thing you get a bad grade . So it's basically follow the instructions, but you have to improve on
was rude in emails to the class about assignments.
I reported her to the school. Nasty, unkind, belittling, and full of herself. Does not give feedback & sent multiple nasty e-mails to the class belittling us. It also doesn't matter if you're 1 word shy of her minimum requirement -- she will fail you regardless of how well written your assignment is. Do yourself a favor, don't take her course.
For the entire semester, we read one book and spent the remaining weeks learning how to write a research paper. The class was so time consuming. Tough grader! No help from the instructor. Must do it all on your own or go to writing lab. Hours and hours of research and homework.
She was a tough grader but as someone who doesn't just do the bare minimum, I appreciated being made to work for it. Sure, she could have been more coddling to the class but this is college, I don't want to be coddled. Judging by the discussions, I would say many people didn't take the class seriously enough anyway.
this was the hardest class i have taken at AACC. an unreasonable amount of work and she makes it seem like it is the only class or priority students have. When emailing back and forth she does not answer questions and makes you feel stupid for not understanding the assignment. the whole class is based on one paper and each week gets even harder kms
I loved the professor. She would always be helpful to me when restructuring my papers so I can achieve the grade that I would like to have by the end of the semester of which I have taken the class during.
Professor Sikorski is easily accessible outside of class hours. She gives great feedback on improving research papers before the student turns them in, and she gave amazing lectures. She really cares for student participation and attendance.
She cares that you understand of all the material. She has much respect. She replies to emails very fast. What a great Professor.
This was a 6 week online course for English 102. The course lesson plan was laid out to make it as easy and simple to complete the final. Prof Sikorski was easy to access via email and even had a phone conversation with to ensure I was on the right track. The work wasn't overly hard just needed to spend time on the work.
She is too strict and not helpful
Had her for English 101 online. I don't know if she was a lenient grader or I just had previous experience with essay writing. I have a disability that had me turning in at least a quarter of my assignments in a day or two late--I explained my situation and she never penalized me for it, luckily. Didn't get as much feedback as I would have liked.
I took her creative writing class, There is 3 things do weekly and overall the layout of her canvas page is so disorganized. When she says, "a full page" SHE MEANS A FULL PAGE. If it isnt a full page she takes off multiple points. Would I takw creative writing again? yes. With her? No.
"In your corner" type of professor. She does not give handouts, but if you participate and do honest work she will always help. Highly recommend listening to the course novel by audiobook. You have to read the same novel a few times and the audio approach helped me grasp the material. She is not cruel or unfair, but has a clearly high standard.
Best online course I have had to date! This Gender Studies class gives so much good information, great discussions and there were no exams, just discussions and projects. I think everyone could benefit from this information. The professor was organized and her caring nature made the classroom very comfortable. Would take her again.
The novel for this class we used The Stranger by Albert Camus, but I used the wrong translation, and she didn't say anything about it until my second draft of my paper which gave me no points for that assignment. I even sent her a message asking to look over my paper and she never got back to me. I liked her at first but ended up not liking her.
Professor Sikorski was an ok professor. She made the assignments very clear, with step-by-step instructions. Participation in classes is MANDATORY. The novel for this course was not challenging, however, the research paper was challenging. The one thing about her, she is not clear on her feedback on assignments. Everything felt copy & paste.
She wouldn't give specific feedback on what you can improve on. She has high expectations on assignments, she will grade your work how it is, and she WILL take off points if you don't reach proper requirements. Weekly discussions were fine. The final essay was difficult...hence the 6-page instructions given for it. She was nice though
Very condescending teacher. She doesn't care too much about students succeeding in the class. Details were unclear in the directions of assignments and oddly strict about random parts. She was nice but do not recommend her.
I thought that Dr. Sikorski was a wonderful professor. As long as you show up to class, participate and put your heart into your work, you will surely get a good grade. I will say that she can be pretty vague with her feedback, but was willing to talk it out if you had questions. I wish I could take her again for ENG102!
She is a talkative but soft-spoken person who makes tasks clear, however, she cares more about the grading criteria than the actual success of an individual. Her class was not enjoyable, but it is easy to pass if you follow the standards. Overall, she comes off as nice but seems to have personal issues bleed into her class.
Professor Sikorski is a caring instructor who expects a lot. I found unstuck AI and the audiobook version of the course novel very helpful for grasping the material. Attend classes, do the work, and she'll support you.
She seems so sweet and intelligent, but she's very condescending and passive-aggressive. She had the class buy FOUR BOOKS just for one semester.
Professor Grace or Sikorski was an "okay" teacher. When I took her class, she took a lot of points if you didn't do it correctly or not meeting the requirement which is too much considered it was 20 pages long, especially the research paper. Participation points was great but everything else was awful. I don't recommend taking her, 3/10.
The coursework for Professor Sikorski's class is not too troubling. If you do the work that is asked for the assignment, you will likely receive an 100 on every one. The final is a large research paper with strict guidelines that seem scary, but if you meet the requirements, and try your absolute best to excel above them, you will get an A.
