I'm glad I took this class, because although I was already doing most of the lessons in real life, I didn't know they had def. to them and explinations. This class is very helpful as it is related to everyday scenarios. Every Saturday at 10am a 2pg assignment is due and I do wish that was changed to 3pm It just collided with my personal schedule.

This class was tough towards the end! But so worth it, Stinson showed me how to be more assertive and help myself communicate better to the world! Definitely try her class

Before taking her COM 1 class i was terrified of public speaking. She helped me get rid of the fear and move my communication skills to a new level. I had even placed in the COM 1 speech tournament at RCC.

Taking this class made my change how I am towards everyone in my life, but it helped me grow in the most positive way. She pushes you to be the best you can be and encourages you. Always has positive feed back. Not the easiest class but definitely worth taking and putting in all you got to learn and grow.

She seem's intimidating the first day, but it's just her passion TRUST ME. I went into the class so anxious (so bad I get panic attacks) and now I am more confident then ever, my confidence and self-esteem is out the roof. Definitely is not an easy class, but you'll grow tremendously. Once you finish you'll feel like you can do anything! LOVE HER!

Great teacher, makes your realize alot about yourself. It is an easy class as long as you do the work and participate in the activities. There is alot of writing in this class but it is very easy to keep up on the work. Although the class was challenging, I stuck through it because i saw how much she actually cares about her students.

I feel like a stronger, more confident person and student since taking public speaking with Ms. Stinson. She is incredibly motivating and I am so happy I took this class with her. By no means is her class easy. You have to work hard for your grade, and she does not mess around. But if you are motivated, definitely take COM1 with her.

In COM1 I have learned to be comfortable with speaking in front of an audience. She enforces how important is to speak without notes and how to correctly format a speech. Mrs. Stinson has allowed my character to grow, she taught me that every little effort expands your circle of growth. Although she expects a lot from her students, she is great!

Mrs Stinson's COM9 class is life changing, she is such an inspirational professor who really cares about her students and motivates you to work hard. From day one she tells you what is expected and if you are not about growing as a person to DROP! The class is not easy but she pushes you and at the end you apply everything you learned for life.

I took Mrs. Stinson's class expecting an easy public speaking class which is not what i got, BUT she is an amazing professor i have grown to become a more open person because of her and this class. College isn't easy and it definitely taught me that but it made me push myself to do better and hopefully succeed and that you just need to PRESS ON

I am grateful for taking this class for many reasons. I was nervous this course would be too much for me with the amount of homework given, but it's nothing too difficult and easy to maintain. Mrs. Stinson is a hard grader but its good because it pushes you to do your best in the class. you learn a lot about communication and you learn how to be grateful. gratitude is very important and Mrs. Stinson teaches us that.

In this class, I've learned quite a bit about Interpersonal Communication. Knowledge on it helped me so much in marriage, friendship, and family. Mrs. Stinson is quite demanding, but also cares for your success, so make sure you read the textbook, upload journals ahead of time to reduce the weight of course load, and you'll be just fine!

In the beginning, she provided a clear description of the expectations she had for us. She promised to "expand my circle of growth" and make me better than I was in the beginning of the semester, which she did. While having to write a paper or two every week was a bit of a hassle, she provided plenty of examples to help us meet her expectations.

Mrs Stinson was very tough and I lived up to the challenge, on the first day of class many people dropped because they felt she was too tough and soon after a few weeks before the drop deadline many of my friends felt that they were working there butt off yet they wont pass so they dropped, saddest day ever cause my friends left me!! My experience in this class was actually pretty inspirational. I changed my habit of being a procrastinator because she does require no notes when doing the speeches. I know it must sound scary to use no notes but it actually very rewarding. It made me work harder and then after the speech I felt great about my self because I used no notes.

I learned so much from Mrs. Stinson. Thanks to her enthusiasm for communication, she nurtured in me a confidence I never knew I could possess for public speaking. Professor Stinson has high standards and a great amount of enthusiasm. She has helped me speak with more clarity, confidence, and is very inspirational. She stressed the importance of using professional sources in works. If you take her class, be prepared to verbally participate and and work at least a week ahead of due dates.

Did I do a lot of work for this class? Yes. Was it necessary? Absolutely. I have had the privilege of attending both UCR and RCC. By far, this was one of the best classes I have ever taken. This class is extremely applicable to every-day life. I worked hard by doing a lot of the assignments early and following the exemplars diligently.

One of the best professors for constructive criticism ever. Was an inspiration to me and I found her class very enjoyable. If you take the class, put in the effort to do work and do quality work.

Profesor Stinsons a great profesor that provides lots of material to help her students succeed in this class. Shes very passionate about what she teaches and does her best to make her students understand it as well. This class is probably the hardest class I've ever taken. I'm not a fan of presenting so I struggled with my speeches. However, after every speech I got better. If you want to pass this class you can't procrastinate, you must read, be prepared at all times, take notes, & most importantly PRACTICE your speeches. P.S: Be prepared to do a lot of work!

Big on affirmations and encourages her class to engage in using them with one another from day one; this was good for me in the long run because I was more comfortable speaking in front of the class after building a relationship with them so they were more of a support than something to fear. She provided an outline guide with examples, Remind APP.

She is one of the few professors I have met that genuinely care about her students. She is a person of principle and ethic so your conduct in class is pivotal. I have learnt a lot from her that I will never forget such as the principle of superposition(not physics).Her concept of 3 main ideas for every speech is also something I will use forever.

This class was a lot of work but it disciplines you. The professor gives you pretty much all the examples for what she expects in all 4 speeches in the semester. Make sure you use the tools she gives you, it is literally all there! Do not miss class because she is super strict about attendance and will not accept any late work! No notes class.

I took Mrs. Stinson's COM 9 at RCC and enjoyed everything about the class. She does give a good amount of homework, but the assignments are fun and not too difficult. NOT YOUR USUAL CLASS. Its only held once a week, but because of that, its critical that you stay on top of your work. The class focuses not only on the scientific aspect of interpersonal communication, but also the study of gratitude. Whatever youre expecting out of Mrs. Stinson, I promise its more than you can imagine.

In this class you must show up prepared. Nothing is busy work, so reel in all the points you can. The lectures are very inspirational and evident of her strong belief in and subsequently high expectations of you. It will really teach you a lot and holds you accountable. if i could do it again i would! gives homework every week and makes you take notes in order to do quiz but you will learn a lot and have fun doing it. You have to speak in front of class a lot but she will get you very comfortable.

I will forever keep the speech outline engraved in my mind. She made the classroom a comfortable public speaking environment. Motivating, she does not take excuses lightly. I learned to be accountable. She is in constant contact with the class about upcoming assignments. I urge you to practice, know your material, dedicate time.

This class was intense but it has equipped me with the tools necessary to successfully speak in public. Mrs. Stinson also introduced me to how to effectively utilize the tools at the school to assist with researching topics that I will use throughout the rest of my academic life. This class requires your full effort in preparing for your topic.

I've been able to see positive changes in my work ethic from her class. Her class is time-consuming if you want a good grade, but is well worth it. I became more of a hard worker; I put my energy into assignments. Mrs. Stinson uses many motivational tactics to help diminish any anxieties you have with speeches. Mrs. Stinson is one of the most dedicated, passionate professors that I have ever had the privilege to learn from. WARNING: this class is NOT an easy A, so if you are expecting that then I would suggest opting out. However, Mrs. Stinson does set you up for success and she does everything that she can to make sure you succeed in this course.

I was taking two science courses with this one, and this class gave me the most anxiety. Mrs. Stinson can be intimidating, but it's all done for your upward mobility. She's a unique professor who will provide you with inspiration and a shift in gratitude. As a result from her, I've begun to embed her teachings in life. Be prepared for hard work!

Ive grow as a student as it has forced teachings that are extremely helpful which I can carry on to other classes, at work and in my everyday life. I learned how to effectively research which has naturally made me engaged in my work, I want to share! Come with an open mind, leave judgment at the door and this will be a great class for you

This will not be an easy class but I am grateful for taking this class. I grew so much as a person and overcame my insecurities and shyness in having to speak in front of people. It is more than just a Public Speaking class you will learn about the real world and about yourself. If you're looking for an easy A, do not take this class.

Absolutely recommend taking this class! Mrs. Stinson is a professor who is highly passionate about her craft. Her methods of teaching are designed to prepare students for success both academically and on a professional level. This is by no means an easy class, you must be wiling to WORK HARD for your GRADE.

While you definitely have to work hard for your grade, she equips you with the tools needed for success. I really appreciated the fact that she emphasizes the class as a family, it made presenting much more easier. She says you need to buy the textbook, but I never used. Overall, she is passionate and wants all her students to succeed.

A great class that makes you realize that she doesn't just lecture but inspire to look forward to seeing what potential you have. It is a class that you have to work for but when you do you feel proud of yourself of what you have done.

Mrs. Stinson truly loves her students and wants us to succeed. She is overwhelming brilliant and has helped me better myself not just in public speaking, but in being a student. You will definitely work for your grade, but all in all, it is worth it for you upward mobility. Be prepared to work and rehearse your speeches.
