Must admit, I love this guy and perhaps had a secret crush on him. He is brilliant, handsome, charasmatic. If you take his class you should respect him and go to it. There isn't even much work. (1 paper) You'll be glad you did because you will leave smarter. :) If you take religion you take him!

what a nutjob, fantastic professor, took him two semesters last year and enjoyed every second of both classes. lively, energetic, uses many mediums to reach students, passionate about his work. Good man

Just an all around great guy. Extremely intelligent and is able to give modern day examples for complex ancient thought. Even if you dont need a religion course for your major or minor, take a course from Schweig just for a good laugh every once and a while. Great sense of humor.

I took his Erotic Religion/Sacred Love class, and I know nothing more after taking the class than I knew before taking it. I really don't know how he awards people's final grades. Basically, he scrambles a bunch of letters and randomly assigns them to people. I think he really DOES know who attends class on a regular basis and who doesn't.

Take this man for anything, and at all costs.

One of the best classes you will take, get in it as soon as possible if your not in it find out when it is and go anyways. Id even reccommend declaring religious studies your minor just so u have a reason to take more of his classes.

Man is amazing. Actually cares about you learning and not about test scores. Gives a light workload so you don't have to worry about your grade, and you can actually take something away from the course.

Dr. Schweig is amazing. I want to become a Religion minor because of him. He wants you to take something form the course and knows so much. Intelligent about everything, the man speaks sanskrit. Great professor, best ive had at CNU. No real work, except a 10 page paper but you have all semester to do it.

Schweig da bomb. He acts a lot like Jerry Seinfeld. Very intelligent, but is not very good at meeting book deadlines. He also spends a little too much time on his cell phone. Nonetheless, he is perhaps the best professor at CNU. How many other professors have the ability to speak to birds? Probably not many.

Take Schweig!! He is amazingly smart, funny, and completely loses himself in tangents, but that's the great part about class. He gives an interesting perspective on any subject matter, and most assignments are put off till the end of the semester.

Amazing professor, absolutely loved his class. Very smart man, more than willing to talk to you about class. Though I do have some complaints which others may take as perks. Has very funny, long tangents at points in his lectures, cancels class frequently, and forgets what he taught the class before. Take the class though it's worth it!

rediculous - if you actually want to learn something, dont take this class. If you want the A, go ahead, just do your journals and your papers. He doesn't care if you show up, nor does he care to really teach you anything you couldn't learn on your own. For as much respect as i have for his knowledge, he obviously hates intro classes.

Alot of fun, interesting tangents although i learned more in 211. Pretty easy, but he allows you to procrastinate by having everything due on the final exam day. Do the paper and journals before exam week! He gives take home tests at random points in the semester so its helpful to come to class, or at least know someone in class.

Schewig is very funny, i always laughed every class because he is just so weird..hes very knowledgable and interesting.take any of the classes he teaches if you do your work he wont give you below a B!

His class is unique. Tries to keep students entertained with his antics that are related to class discussion. Mostly discuss his book about the Gita. Not much work overall though. Readings for journals, take home tests and a paper. I don't regret taking Schweig, but if you want a normal structured class, take someone else.

Awesome teacher! Alot of people say you don't learn anything in the class, but if you really pay attention you'll learn so much. I've learned a ton in his class just by disecting his lesson. It's the teacher's job to teach, it's the student's job to disect and comprehend. However, if you don't understand, he's always there to help. Best professor!!

Dr. Schweig is very funny and very entertaining in class. If you pay attention and really listen you will learn a lot from his class. He likes to keep things lively, but he also likes everyone to understand the material. Very helpful.

Hilarious! I love him, I?m taking him again next semester. I definitely recommend taking any class with him. The workload is pretty light, just a ten page paper due on the day of the final and journal entries assigned after every chapter read.

I took Religions of the West and its very bottom heavy. Lets you do work at your own pace and doesnt collect any assignments until end of semester basically so as long as you keep up with your work, it's pretty easy. Take the final paper seriously. Lectures are interesting!

Such a great professor. He makes the class interesting & very funny. One day he talked about chipmunks & somehow related them to religion.

Teaching style is flawless. I enjoyed going to class, even at 9:30 in the morning. Excessive amount of busy work, so if you despise that kind of thing, maybe it's not a good idea to take him. If you keep up with it, though, it's an easy A. All exams are "cheat" exams, and you basically get to pick your final grade as long as you don't suck.

Very funny, talked about killing students every class though. Lots of busy work but its not hard. Just make sure you stay on top of it, it is really hard to do it all at the end of the semester. If your a daydreamer, be prepared to come in to the conversation at the most wierdest times.

He is a great professor and all of his tests are online, so we are able to use the book. We have to write SLOGS and KLOGS which are tedious but are mandatory to pass. Sometimes we have class outside and we will walk through the farmer's market. He does brag his accomplishments a lot (he has translated several books). Ask about squirrels.

Wonderful professor! Stay up to date on all assignments and you should be fine! Attendance is mandatory! Missing a class can set you behind. Textbook needed. One research paper (10 pages) and a final exam on top of slogs / klogs.

Great class! He is very accommodating / understanding. Two papers, SLOGS / KLOGS - classwork assignments and home work assignments. Need to buy the books! Stay on track with your SLOGS / KLOGS or you WILL get behind at the end of the semester. Attendance is mandatory. Very smart man - take a class with him before you finish college.

Schweig is very entertaining to listen to and is a very smart man. His lectures are hit or miss. You might love them or they might frustrate you. They are not very specific to material being covered but intention is to make you think about big philosophical ideas, and it works. There are no tests in this class. Very little homework. One essay.

The SLOGs and KLOGs are the only work you have all semester really, but they do take thought and time to work on if you dont keep up with it regularly. I'm taking him again for a second semester for his Bhagavad Gita class and I love it. I believe we have a paper in this course, but we don't have online Pearson modules like Religions of the east.

Schweig is quite a character. He's funny, but also has many insightful points about society in relation to religion. There's homework and class logs that you have to keep up on, because when I fell behind I didn't have motivation to catch up. Easy class, but you do have to be highly motivated with the amount of openness he gives you.

Schweig rocks! If it's nice outside he'll have class out there. As long as you show up and do your work he'll give you an A. The final paper was a little tough, but if you go to him for help with it he's happy to take a look. Totally chill, and has a great sense of humor. I'm taking another class from him next semester!

Schweig is one of the best professors I've ever had- his lectures are informative, thought provoking, and funny. Not a challenging class, but a bit of busy work with the SLOGS and/or KLOGS and the occasional revell. Just do those, come to class, and you'll get an A. If you have to take any religion or AIGM class, take Schweig.

Dr. Schweig's class was very knowledgeable but sometimes the lecture was a little boring. He is an amazing professor and helps his students in any way. The final exam was a little tough but not too bad. Would definitely take his course again!

Dr. Schweig was amazing! Easily the best professor I've had so far. His lectures were honestly really interesting. While you do have to do mini-essays (SLOGS, KLOGS, FROGS) routinely, they're short and easy as long as you did the reading and took notes in class. Also- no in class final and he has interviews to give grades instead of assignments!

Schweig is truly something else. He is a character and has tons of stories to tell about all sorts of topics. His lectures are some of the best I have eve heard, and his class is very interesting. He knows that most people were just put in his class to get the credit so he made it easy to get that A. He does daily class logs which are easy. Part of your grade is also attendance so don't miss more than 2 days! Overall, amazing professor and made the class so much more interesting than it sounds "Religion of the East."

What can I say accept that Dr. Schweig is the consummate professor. This is a man who loves knowledge for knowledges sake. Hes a rebel, as hell tell you, with wit and hilarity unmatched, whos quick to brush aside tests and to forgive an overdue assignment in favor of delivering inspiring lectures and checking in on his students well-being.

He's super nice, he really cares about how you do. If you just show up to class there is no way to fail the class. He's a crazy, but fun professor. If I needed to take any other classes and he was one of the professors that taught it I would take him in a heartbeat. super easy class.

Dr. Schweig is easily my favorite professor ever. He made this semester way more bearable for all of us and truly went the extra mile to make sure all of us got good grades. His lectures are incredibly chill, with his "alternative facts" and made up stories, he genuinely loves what he teaches which made this class even better. 100% recommend.

Professor Schweig is one of the most intelligent and respected teachers at CNU. I have taken a few classes with him now, and honestly, my only complaint is that he is not serious enough. Easy A if that is all you care about.

Schweig is the only professor that can always brighten your day without dreading sitting in class. I learn new things about life and religion every class. He is an open book and always positive. This class is not stressful, and he keeps it interesting.

Although I received a B in his course, I think he is a great prof. The course consists of very minimal work throughout the semester until the final is due. Basically, do not procrastinate and end up pushing it until the last week to complete. It will be time-consuming, so if u take his class keep that in mind and make sure to attend the lectures.

Firstly, this man is terrifying. He has no filters, and he doesn't need them. If your class is small, he will know you by name and tease you at least once. He keeps a great rapport with his students. His lectures are fascinating, but know that you MUST do the reading. Pay close attention and take notes, you'll be fine. Take one of his classes!!!

Honestly don't even read reviews, TAKE HIM. Easiest class ever. We have not done a single thing but chat about random stuff. He is so funny. He tells the same stories over and over, but I would rather that than lecture & tests. If he is offering a special topic TAKE IT. SO EASY, YOU DO NOTHING. He doesn't even have syllabi for his Special topics.

Makes lectures interesting/entertaining. HW each class (about a paragraph on one takeaway from each lecture), occasional online HW assignments that were easy. Final is a 5 page (SINGLE SPACED) essay.

Prof. Schweig is an engaging lecturer who makes the material fascinating. The workload is manageable if you stay on top of the readings. Unstuck study was a lifesaver for exam prep - highly recommend!

Professor Schweig is a hilarious guy. He is very passionate about his job, and it shows. The class work is not horrible; you write 150-200 words after each class, and then an occasional long assignment, but nothing is due until the final. There were no tests. Attendance is mandatory for this class; he gives you 3 freebies.

He possesses amazing knowledge of the course material. He provides context for whatever topic we're discussing. He answers questions very well and provides information to further enhance our knowledge beyond our initial question.

Dr. Schweig is the goat. If you need to take a class and he's teaching it, do it with him 100%. Class is lecture heavy but he is insanely funny and wants the class to engage. There is a lot of homework but he wants you to get a good grade so as long as efforts made, you'll get a good grade.
