There are lots of essays but they are easy since he does not even check grammar and spelling! You are allowed up to 3 absences with no excuse but his class is not even that bad to skip. Con: lectures are pretty boring. Pro: doesn't matter if you read the assigned chapter for next class as long as you know what to write for your essay
You show up to class, sit there while he talks, and then get assigned to read 20 pages for that night. I did not learn a lot from this class and I am very frustrated with how this class was taught. I expected power points and videos about the three religions taught but got none of those. The final screws everyone over.
Professor Adamson is super nice and has easy grading policies. There is a lot of reading but I didnt do most of it and still got a 97% in the class. Most of the essays are 1-2 pages double spaced and the only test is the final. There is one big paper but its easy to BS. He also gives extra credit! Take this class if you want an easy A.
I've taken two of his religion classes. You don't need to be religious because it's a scholarly based learning and interpretation. He is so helpful and clear when it comes to assignments. Class consists of reading and in class discussions. He usually assigns 10-20 pages for every other day to discuss. The exam is open book and open note.
Professor Adamson is an amazing professor! There is a lot of reading, but it's not that hard if you dedicate some time to doing it. The papers are graded pretty easily, and he gives 2% extra credit at the end of the semester if everyone completes the TCEs. Overall, a great professor, and it was a pleasure to be in his class!
Really easy class as long as you show up or have someone write your name down for your attendance. You only read 3 super easy books and then write a short paper on each, got 100's on all three and barely read them. Prof is super nice and passionate abt subject, can just be a boring topic sometimes
Worst Classics prof I have had. Course was set up as a "collaborative learning" course where all you do is discuss with your peers who are also confused, and he didnt teach AT ALL. I was so eager to learn this material and LOVE Classics, but this was a huge disappointment. Take this class if you want an easy A and dont care about learning classics
This is the worst class I have ever taken and to give you context I am a math major who's already doing 400 level courses. What kind of human expects a student to read 100 pages in a week with no lectures to help you? And then we had to write discussion posts based on those readings EVERY WEEK! I would never take a course with him again.
Overall awesome! Gives 2 freebees for any late work and will go the extra mile to work with students to make sure they get a good grade. Textbooks are cheap (-10) or free online. There is a fair amount of reading but skimming will get you by. I have taken 2 classes of his and would take more if I could!
I took this online class during COVID-19 and can't complain. We were given 2 "freebie" assignments that we could turn in by the end of the semester, no questions asked. This was a pretty reading-heavy class, but the quiz questions are directly from the reading and we got 2 or 3 attempts for each one. Also gave 2 points for completing TCE!
This is probably one of the best professors I have ever had!! If you do the work, there is no way you would no be able to pass the class with an A. The work is not difficult, one discussion post a week based on YOUR own opinion and his rubrics are so easy to follow!! I totally recommend this clas!!
Dr. Adamson is very caring toward his students. I took the 7 wk online version of RELI280, and there were a total of 11 assignments. The longest 'essay' you have to write is only 750 words. You are able to miss any 2 assignments and turn them in by the final project without losing points to the lateness. I would absolutely take this class again.
Dr. Adamson is an amazing professor! Although this course is a writing emphasis class, he makes sure that everything is do-able and not an overload for his students. He gives you 2 late freebees which were great and came in handy. Just be ready to read a lot of literature!
I took this class this semester during the COVID 19 shutdown. Professor Adamson was very understanding about the circumstances and gave us two free late freebies, no questions asked. This class is definitely reading heavy with a discussion a week and some quizzes and papers. But it is easily doable and the reading helps with everything due.
Professor Adamson is great. The class RELI 280 is essay heavy however his grading criteria are simple and he doesn't place much emphasis on the technicalities of writing. Most of the point for the essays are based on meeting the word count and answering the prompt. This is an easy class to get a good grade in as long as you do the work.
This was a great course. I had never taken a religious studies class and so glad I did. Professor Adamson explained through video what the class was about and expectations. If I have a chance to take a religious studies class again, having Professor Adamson would be great.
This class was a great class to take while having an extremely busy schedule. Professor was very understanding and super easy to work with. Lots of reading but you had plenty of time to complete each assignment. I would definitely recommend his class.
This class was really simple, class discussions on the readings, readings due for every class but if you didn't read it usually didn't matter. There are a lot of things that are graded but all the assignments were worth a small portion of the grade making it easy to come back if you do bad on an assignment.
I loved this class. All the reading material can be found for free online, so you don't have to pay for anything. The class is graded on 4 essays and 3 discussions, all of which are incredibly easy. The essays are only 2 pages each, and very easy. I definitely recommend this class if you want an easy A. The material is also super interesting.
During these hard times with what is going on in the world today, Professor Adamson made this class interesting, and reading fun. I really learned alot in this course.
For a 300 level course this was probably the easiest course Ive taken in college. Discussions are just chances to get feedback from others, and a 100%. Papers are as clear cut as the grading criteria. The quizzes are rough though. Make sure you read when a quiz is due, open book or not you risk relying on blind luck to get an A otherwise.
Super interesting class. Podcasts were helpful in framing up the reading, which was super helpful in a condensed, quick paced class. He provided prompts to get our thought process going for writing assignments and one of the best aspects was reviewing peers' thought process, which clearly widened understanding of the text through dialogue.
Prof Adamson is super accommodating to his students which has been super helpful during covid. He builds in 2 late freebies that you dont have to turn in till the end of the semester. This class is pretty reading & writing heavy but nothing crazy. He grades easy so stay consistent in participation and youll get an a.
Adamson is a very thoughtful and caring professor, even giving the opportunity to turn in 2 assignments at the end of the semester, no questions asked. The class can get boring since it is mostly reading and discussion board posts; there will be lots of reading, writing, and weekly quizzes. Follow the criteria, retake quizzes, and you'll get an A.
Professor Adamson is awesome! Throughout the course you only take 2 or 3 quizzes and they are easy. You have weekly discussion posts the first few weeks and then art analysis the last three weeks but they arent hard. He lets you turn in two assignments late but honestly I did a few assignments a day or two late and he still gave me full credit.
Professor Adamson has by far been my favorite instructor in undergrad. He gives a very light and manageable workload, yet I still learned quite a bit through this course. His instructions were clear and you'll get an easy A if you turn in assignments and meet the word count. I would recommend his courses to anyone!
Professor Adamson was so kind to me. I suffered an injury which required surgery, and was struggling with mental health, and he was incredibly accommodating and caring. He respects his students, and offers very clear instructions and criteria for each assignment. He is one of the best professors I've had and he created such an interesting class!
This class was fairly simple to get an A in and it was actually interesting. The readings and presentations the professor had for us were easy to follow and understand. He is super lenient with work considering we are in the middle of a pandemic. Just follow the grading criteria and you will be just fine. Totally recommend.
Genuinely the NICEST professor I have ever had!! I reached out to him when I was struggling to keep up & he was so incredibly kind and accommodating & let me turn in more assignments late. He treats you w/ respect & doesn't make you feel bad for struggling to turn assignments in. The coursework is not hard at all & is interesting. Definitely take!!
Professor Adamson was amazing. He was one of the nicest teachers I have had and was always available when I needed help. He is also very accomodating for due dates if you are unable to turn in on time. Weekly discussions as well as 3 papers and thats it!
The class is easy. Discussion posts are worth more than papers. The reading is hefty, but enjoyable. Some of the essay prompts are pretty leveraged. It's kind of like "Either show how these two scriptures are inconsistent, or defend the inerrancy of the whole New Testament." Clearly one claim requires a longer paper. He grades straight up though.
Prof. Adamson sets up this course really well. The deadlines are set for the semester, and he allows two late work credits, no excuse needed. The readings can get difficult to read at times, but it was all interesting. No quizzes or tests, just discussion posts and two papers.
Professor Adamson was a great teacher. All of the criteria and due dates are clearly laid out and the tests, while a little boring, were sectioned well. All text books could be accessed without cost which was great. Hes very understanding and has a fair late work policy. Overall a great 7 week course.
This was a wonderful class that wasn't too difficult despite being 7 and a half weeks. The first half of the class is very textbook heavy, but the end of class is focused on two books that are smaller. Professor Adamson has very clear instructions, which is always appreciated. He's a professor that's understanding if life gets in the way.
All you are going to do is read and write some discussion posts and papers (and the grading criteria is set incredibly low). There was no engagement from the Professor or his TA's, there was no feedback on the content of the posts or papers, there was nothing that would actually help you get better or learn. It's a ridiculously easy A though.
Very easy A. I ended with over 100%. Rubrics are very clear and you get full points if you just follow instructions and try. Seems to be that it was mostly following the instructions, not graded by your actually content or writing. Definitely recommend.
Prof. Adamson has very well laid out explanations in each module and is better than most instructors in terms of teaching asynchronously online. Easy class, even easier if you watch Jordan Peterson's Biblical Lecture Series.
Dr. Adamson inspired me to minor in Religious Studies. I took classes both online and in person. The course work and assignments are on par with average class. You won't be disappointed if you take any of his classes.
A great overview of the topic (Greek and Roman Religions) and was a perfect balance of getting just enough info to have a good understanding without being too difficult. The textbook (Denova) was a good resource and the class outline was clear. All the assignments and activities are low-stakes, meaning none is worth more than 8%. Recommend!
I loved this class. We learned about many different things. Dr. Adamson is a fantastic teacher.
This class is a bit hard cause of all the busy work. Very lecture heavy and expect to read the Bible very often and a lot of busy work suck as discussion posts and long papers. Lectures don't matter very much and are very drab and boring.
I took this as a 7week Icourse and it was so easy. We had 100 pages to read each week but I looked up the summary and passed the quizzes easily. Because he asks opinion questions for essay prompts I got 100% on all three of them. He also gave us extra credit for doing the school SCS surveys!
Professor Adamson was probably the best professor I had this semester. He is very kind and helpful towards his students and that is why he gives so much extra credit and allows late work. I would say he was also a clear grader when it came to work. Follow the rubric and you should be good.
Prof Adamson is my favorite instructor at UofA. As a international student in freshmen year, it was hard for me to write a qualified writing, but Prof Adamson was so patiently guides me on every essay which helped me a lot. Besides, this course is easy to get A as long as you attent class and hand in your essay in time. No exam and quizes require
Dr. Adamson is a great professor. He really cares about what he is teaching and does his best to engage with the class. Half of the class is talking about the readings in small groups and then with the class as a whole. The quizzes are taken outside of class and there are only about three papers so you should be able to get a good grade if you try.
Took Greek and Roman religion and I will say that Prof Adamson is great at giving feedback and very friendly towards help outside of class. I am planning on taking another religion class with him and recommend that if you need to fulfill GE requirements you take any of his classes.
Prof. Adamson was a great professor for a seven-week class. He has clear expectations for what he wants when he's grading. There are three readings for this class, with the last one being the most difficult. Weekly discussions in small groups and three main papers are the essentials of this class. Stay on top of the work and you'll be fine.
He was my professor at Rice University for New Testament Writings. Truly hard-working, humble, scholarly, erudite, genius-mastermind kind-of-man. He met me for coffee to discuss a paper and ever since that single appointment he has impacted my life in the most powerful way. The best professor I have ever had. (I. Perez)
This class was extremely easy thanks to Prof. Adamson. You honestly don't have to go to any lectures, just do the discussion post each week and the occasional paper and you got a good grade. I haven't gone in person since week 1 and currently have a 100% in the class, he just makes it that easy!
Loved this class as a gen ed! He makes it very easy and it is very clear he cares about his students. Late passes are offered for all weekly discussion board assignments (easy 200 words due every Sunday). Great teacher and attendance is not mandatory as there is an online option for every lecture. Take this! I ended with a 98%.
I've never seen a better implemented level of design and organization in coursework, and online tools. The ease in which it's designed to navigate the class materials and the logistical work the instructor put in is exemplary. Additionally, had an immense level of empathy and caring for me when i suffered health concerns and helped me with class.
Super easy class and the professor is great. This class does have a writing requirement so you will have somewhat long papers to do in a short time frame. But, the grading for the assignments seems to be relatively easy/lenient. (The content is pretty interesting as well).
Prof Adamson is an amazing person & I enjoyed the class. There are 3 essays but they are very very easy. He has a ton of resources as well & is very caring.
Professor Adamson is a great professor! If you're looking for an easy A I would recommend this course. There's a total of 3 essays of no more than 700 words.
One of the easiest classes I've ever taken. If you're really interested in world religions, it's easy to get involved and learn a lot. If you're not so interested, or have other priorities , it's easy to get by doing the bare minimum and still get an A. Prof Adamson is really accommodating and offers the class online and in person.
Honestly there was just a lot of writing whether it was the disucssion posts or the two papers but that was basically it. It's honestly an easy A and easy to bs it, you may have to read a decent amount but I just skimmed through and ended up doing fine. I think it was an ok class to take for a gen ed
Grant was a solid professor. The week's schedule is clearly laid out with what is due and when; 1 or 2 two assignments are usually due every week. He's a bit strict with grading so make sure to use the templates he provides for every assignment. Would definitely recommend if you want an easy A.
Prof. Adamson is super knowledgeable in what he teaches and really cares that his students understand the material. He is very understanding and gives extra credit options. Some reading but not much, one of two assignments a week. Great professor, would 100% recommend it.
This course is very interesting & easy if you need a gen-ed. Very understanding of absences and offers and online version if you are unable to attend class weekly. Report due weekly but they are very quick about things you discuss in class groups. Also very lenient with deadlines, if you need an extension, ask and it'll likely give it to you!
Take this class if you want an easy A. No exams just a 3-4 page paper at end of semester. Professor is extremely sweet and its really an opinion based class. You don't have to go to every single class to know what's going on.
Very easy course as long as you intend to put in the work. Streamlined assignments and clear grading criteria. Although, sometimes it can be hard to get into the readings if you don't have an interest in Greek and Roman history.
If you are looking to take an building connections gen ed then I totally recommend this class and Professor Adamson. His class was interesting and very straight-forward. Everything is very well explained and he always gives reminders and tips for assignments. There are 3 papers, some discussion posts, and some quizzes but there is a lot of help.
Very dope professor. Cares about his subjects and makes the class enjoyable and not very stressful. Also very understanding. Very dope on god frfrfr
Professor Adamson is an amazing professor, and I would highly recommend anyone to take this class, whether you need GenEd credits or you just like the Classics! The class is entirely online and asynchronous, so you need to be responsible for managing your assignments on your own time. He always makes time to meet even if his office hours don't work
Professor Adamson is seriously the best!! I took his online course for CLAS305 and it was a blast. Not only is the material interesting, but his class is super easy. A lot of essays but as long as you do them you should get an A. He's also very willing to help you on the essays or anything else if you just shoot him an email. TAKE HIS CLASS!!
Great class to take online, there is a lot of reading and some of it is hard to interpret but overall very doable in a 7week class. Also gave really great compliments and had good structure for discussion posts (which made them feel less useless).
Although this course did have a good amount of reading and writing it is really not too bad. He does truly everything to help you understand the material and is very understanding when it comes to due dates. I would highly recommend this class to anyone who needs to fulfill a gen-ed requirement.
Super easy class. You don't have to go in person if you don't want to. Only 1 assignment per week. As long you do the assignments, it will be one of the easiest classes you will ever take.
I absolutely adored Dr Adamson's class. He gave the syllabus early and had the whole class schedule planned out for us. There is a decent amount of reading involved, however, if you follow the rubric, it is easy to get an A. He made Greek Religion super interesting, and I would love to take another class with him.
If taking for a genED or majoring in religious studies. This is definitely a professor you want to get. Very clear and understanding for everything. Deserves all the respect coming his way.
Professor Adamsons class was an easy A but also super interesting and he made me want to attend class. He is seriously the sweetest man and so willing to help. He genuinely cares about his students and wants to see them succeed. I 100% recommend if you need an easy but interesting Gen Ed
Dr. Adamson is the best professor I have ever had. He was super nice and just a humble guy, always eager to help. The work/ assignments were super interesting and straight forward. Easiest gen-ed and still learned so much. Any opportunity you get to have this professor, take it!
Prof Adamson was such a kind soul. He is very easy going and lets you turn in work until the end of the course for full credit (yes ik i was shocked too). The reason I got a C is because it is a lot of homework, weekly quizzes and frequent papers & project. Do not take unless you are able to make a lot of time for this class.
so understanding and genuinely cares about the wellbeing of his students
Not much teaching (wished for more feedback), a ton of reading (~100 pages/week, but pretty dense readings---takes exertion to comprehend). If you break them down they are much more manageable, so make sure not to wait until the last minute. Taking notes on the readings is very important for having an easier time writing the essays (2 main essays).
Professor Adamson is well versed in his background. He provides extra insight to the course to assist students with grasping the context of the textbooks and the topics of discussion. He provides clear grading criteria and rubrics along with basic set ups for all of the work in order to give clarity on his expectations of students in the class.
This is my second class with Professor Adamson, he is really nice and wants all of his students to succeed. Took his 7 week course and while it is quite a bit of reading he provides really helpful outlines for weekly discussions and responses. There are 2 papers, but you work on assignments that help you prep for them which is really nice.
This class was honestly so easy for a 7-week. The workload was not as much but the readings were a lot. It wasn't too bad and you can get away with skimming through but comprehending the readings was beneficial in the assignments. Grading was pretty easy and they weren't too tough. Definitely recommend though!
My second time taking Dr.Adamson and he is still the best professor that I have had. He is super caring and really chill. A lot of reading but anyone can get away with skimming through it. Two essays but the rubric and his grading is super easy.
Incredible professor. This is the second class I've taken with Adamson, and for a 7week this class was super light, except the readings were really long. That said, he provides every tool you'd need to succeed, and is super accessible. 10/10 recommend.
Straightforward class with an easy to understand layout. Honestly, loved his class so much and he was so nice. Not a tough grader, but you definitely need to understand the content to do well on the essays. Offered a lot of extra credit (finished with a 104). Would recommend to anyone and wish I could take him again.
Professor Adamson is super kind and makes this class very straightforward. You know what you have to do to succeed and he gives you the opportunity to do that. Overall interesting and good gened!
It was a large group class discussion to go over the material we had learned about. It was an easy class that was interesting to attend.
put the time in, get the grade. He is so nice - seriously awesome class to take. no prior knowledge is required for it. take this class!!!!
I loved this class! It isn't something I wasn't looking forward to originally but his discussion based class was super informative and he was always super nice. Would 100% take it again.
I highly recommend Professor Adamson, his course load is very reasonable while still being challenging and interesting. I really enjoyed taking his class!
Can turn a subject that doesn't seem interesting into something that you want to learn about. Adamson is a very passionate professor and I highly recommend this course.
This class was relatively easy, discussion posts and quizzes every week, and 2 analytical papers, There is a lot of reading so time management is important. The class isn't hard, but does require some work if you want to do well. However, if you are looking for an easy Gen ED I would not recommend.
Honestly, I took this class because I needed the credits and was not too interested in it. Still, the Professor made it pretty interesting and easy to deal with. I don't like classes that aren't related to my major, but this class wasn't too hard, so I would recommend taking this Professor if you need the Gen Ed.
Very flexible with his due dates and overall just a great professor. Made the class not too hard. If you keep up on your work you do not need to do the second essay to keep an A.
He's very very flexible on due dates and if you just do your work, this class is super easy. He made it engaging and fun.
Super easy class. All quizzes are online with unlimited time and three attempts (with same questions and answer banks). It's a lot of reading but you can get an A without ever opening your textbook. Extremely flexible late policy. Would 100% recommend.
I was hesitant to take a religion class because I don't know anything about the NT but Prof Adamson made it interesting and approachable! One of the easiest 7 week gen eds I've taken. Super flexible late work policy, minimal assignments, and as long as you put in effort you can get 100% on everything. Definitely take him if you can!
Would 100% recommend this class for anyone needing a Humanist Gen Ed! Prof. Adamson is so kind and lenient! He cares about his students and is very understanding. The class is more discussion-based than lecture-heavy, and the content is fun and interesting. The workload is small and not stressful: weekly online quizzes and 4 short unit reports.
This class was pretty easy, the professor was pretty cool and understanding. Course had a lot of reading but it was doable. Quizzes were pretty easy, and essays were long but doable. Honestly pretty easy class overall. Just be ready to read a lot, and stay on top of the course. It can be a lot, but if you space it out right, it's doable.
Super chill guy, good teacher, course wasn't too difficult
Dr. Adamson is a wonderful and very respectful professor. The class was fascinating, and he was so kind and respectful the whole time. Always gave us opportunities to share our opinions and questions. Him and Instructional Specialist Schocket made this semester a great experience for me, definitely my favorite class this semester.
Great professor, Really Laid back, Teaches from the textbook but is very knowledgeable. Truly cares about his student's and is really kind hearted
This is an amazing class, pretty easy but super interesting. The professor cares about the subject and the students. The written assignments are easy and straightforward.
The professor is very nice but the class is pretty difficult. I took it as a 7 week online, just as a gen-ed. It is not that the material is difficult, it is just so much work. There were many quizzes, discussions, homework assignments, etc. I was interested in Greek and roman mythology, but the pace of the class was too stressful. Not worth it.
Dr. Adamson is very kind and you can tell he has a passion for this subject. Online quiz each week with questions pulled from reading with multiple allowed attempts. a report after each unit (easy to get good score.) Recommend for a humanities gened.
He is one of the best professors I have ever had, I had him for two semesters. He made the course super easy. OfCourse your need to do the work but he prepares you very well for it. He is super understanding with late work, if you aren't able to submit something on time, just explain your situation and he will aways give you some extra time.
Flexible professor his goal is to allow every student to thrive and take something valuable from his teachings.
Professor Adamson was a great teacher to have! You can tell he puts a lot of work into his courses and he tries to make your life as a student easier simultaneously. He was really nice about late work and always encouraged to ask questions. Plus, he was really quick with responding to my emails as well. Would definitely take his course again!
Great teacher, you read a lot but it is manageable, if you separate 15-20 pages a day throughout the week youll be golden, the discussions set you up perfectly for the papers, do well on those you can pretty much copy-paste. You interact with a lot of other students through discussions, good feedback makes it easy to get up to the 1000-word papers.
Not as mind-numbingly easy as some gen-eds, but easy nonetheless. You will get an A+ if you follow the rubric and do the work. However, you will likely devote ~7+ hours to reading and writing each week. Overall, wonderful professor who makes it very easy to succeed in his class.
This class was great and should be an easy A if you do the reading. All of the assignments focused on connecting the textbook to the New Testament. If you are interested in biblical canon this class is not only easy but interesting. Dr. Adamson was engaging with his content and flexible if you have any issues with submitting an assignment on time.
Dr. Adamson is very knowledgeable and has an easy-going teaching style. He also adds optional podcasts and lecture videos to help guide you through the reading materials and argumentative papers. Best part is the discussions - you'll find as I have to be absolutely valuable the discussions with the rest of the class. So many different perspectives!
This class was so fascinating and Dr. Adamson was so chill! He's willing to work with you, provides you extra time and free late turn-ins to help with the quick pace of the class, and really wants to see his students succeed. It's a LOT of reading for a 7 week, be prepared to space it out, but it's worth it! Great for PJO/classics fans!
Class was interesting and a fairly easy A. Not a religious person, but took this class as Gen Ed and highly recommend. Caring and flexible, and there were not a lot of assignments besides weekly quizzes (ctrl+F on textbook to find answers) and occasional essays. Have something to talk about in class because he goes around asking for thoughts.
Professor Adamson is great. He's flexible and understanding. Plenty of reading but it is spaced out enough and he doesn't overbear you with assignments. 10/10 would recommend.
Truly the easiest class I've ever taken with a phenomenal teacher. You get what you put into it. Want to learn about Greek and Roman religion? This is the class for you. Want to get an easy A in a Gen Ed. This is also the class for you.
I love professor Adamson. He actually cares about his students and he is extremely flexible. This is my favorite college professor of all time. He is one of the sweetest human beings ever and I cannot stress that enough.
The material in the course was incredibly engaging. I am not religious, but it was still very interesting and easy to understand. Prof. Adamson is passionate about the classes he teaches, something that I particularly admire in my instructors. He also is very flexible and understands that his students have a lot going on. Can't recommend it more.
Professor Adamson was awesome. The grading criteria is very clear and the essay prompts are intriguing. There was a lot of reading but it is very educational and fascinating. Overall this is an awesome class!
He was very engaged in the material and provided free materials. A lot of weekly reading but you have a whole week to do them and they were interesting for the most part.
prof adamson cares a lot about his students and wants the best for them. he is very understanding and flexible when needed, and values actual learning over busy work. enjoyable and easy class to take
There's a lot of reading but if you keep up you'll be fine. He's very understanding. There's content quizzes every week and 2 discussion post and the rest are optional. All the content is posted in D2L and its very organized.
Really caring and understanding professor. Would highly recommend taking this class if you are looking to get easy gen ed credit. Online quizzes at the end of every week, but the material is not difficult as long as you do the readings, and the material is also very interesting. 5/5 professor.
Solid professor with a well structured, very manageable class. Heavy on the reading, but by no means unbearable given that weekly quizzes are the only mandatory assignments aside from two papers both of which are small and feel more akin to a weekly assignment than a midterm/final paper. Not a very tough grader at all.
Loved taking this course. Class is centered around group discussion rather than lecture, and Professor Adamson is eager to answer your questions. Quizzes are online and straightforward as long as you read the textbook. Extremely friendly and also understands if life comes in the way sometimes. Would definitely recommend taking this course.
Great class to fulfill a gen-ed requirement. Very little work outside of class, all he asks is that you do the readings and come prepared to discuss.
Great class to take for a gen-ed requirement. Little work require outside of class, all he asks is that you do the readings and come prepared to discuss
Prof Adamson was such a great professor and I really enjoyed his class!
Chill guy, easy class. If you're looking for an easy humanist, this is it. One content quiz a week, one final, and 2 papers. There's more if you want honors credit and an optional discussion, but was my lightest load from all of my classes. Him and his TA's are very sweet and great to work with!
Great prof, would recommend
Perfect gen ed class. Not much work to be done outside of class, besides readings. You will be asked to discuss with your classmates! Met some great friends in this class. Prof Adamson is super respectful to every religion we discuss. Great class, hope to take prof adamson in the future!
Professor Adamson makes the class enjoyable despite the heavy workload. The reading is manageable if you stay on top of it. Discussions and papers are straightforward, and unstuck AI helped me with efficient study prep. Overall, a rewarding experience for mythology fans.
no interaction with the prof so i couldn't tell you how he is but the course is unnecessarily lengthy and awfully paced. 100 pages of dense 500 words per page every week is insane if what you're reading is not fun. the d2l page is poorly made cant find anything confusing and main essay questions makes no sense.
Professor Adamson created a great environment for discussion in his class and clearly cares about his subject. He invited many guest speakers and provided engaging sources for his students. As long as you show up to class, read the textbook, and take the quizzes, you're sure to succeed in his class and get a lot out of it.
There is a lot of reading however, it is very doable. There were 2- 500 word essays during this 7 week course, and a quiz every week based on the reading. If you need a GenEd credit, take this course! It is very very easy and the professor was great. I would take this course again!
Great class, very manageable weekly quizzes and two 500 word essays, but very reading heavy and not much professor-student interaction
The readings are super interesting, and he always puts his notes with the sources to clear any confusion. His grading criteria is clear and I gained a lot of insight while writing the 2 essays. Overall a great professor, he makes videos since the course is online so his students can understand everything, super caring. I learned a lot!
This is the perfect class to take if you need credits and don't have a lot of extra time. Interesting material and super minimal work. Open-book D2L quizzes every week and then a 500 word midterm and final paper. With super generous late policy. Can not recommend this class enough.
Dr. Adamson is one of the best professors I have had at the UA. I took this class as a Building Connections Gen Ed. The class did require a lot of reading, but most of the work was weekly quizzes and discussion posts that were optional. Adamson is always available to provide help and he truly cares about his students' success.
Really easy class if you are looking for a gen ed with not a ton of physical work. Weekley content quizzes (20 question), 2 essays (midterm and final), 2 easy discussion posts, and a final thats cumulative with prior content quizzes. You don't need to read everything in depth to get the point of the course.
Professor was very understanding and class criteria was very simple. Graded off of a weekly quiz, plus a couple 500 word essays and a couple discussion posts. Reading is very light. The most you will spend on this class on most weeks is about an hour. There are very flexible deadlines, I turned in an essay a month late and received a 100.
May God bless this professor.
Take this class. Even though it's an upper-division course, it is probably one of the easiest courses to take. I would take this course again and again. Having this class made life easy (between balancing school and work). Not super work heavy. Professor Adamson is so nice, too, so that's a plus. Do this course, and you'll be glad you did!
I took this as a seven-week course. This class was so easy I got a 100.58! There were two essays and quizzes each Saturday which you would be able to retake, and your quiz grade was averaged. Also two discussion posts.
He is super nice, lets you turn in late work. Very easy grader on the two short essays written. There is a quiz every week and is fairly easy and a few discussion posts.
Professor Adamson is hands down one of my favorite professors that I have interacted with in my educational journey. His course was very interesting and intriguing. He is flexible with deadlines and seems to be very kind and understanding with a great passion for teaching religion. Definitely would take his courses again, and highly recommend.
If you're looking for an easy Gen Ed I recommend this course. The professor is very laid back and passionate about the subject. There are textbooks to read but the content is very interesting, and the quizzes are very easy as well. Additionally, the professor offers a lot of opportunities for extra credit, and opportunities for late work.
Very easy going. and encourages a lot of group work but is not mandatory. I've gotten a lot out of this course, and learned pretty interesting things, because I felt like my learning was up to me and not based on the numbers and scores.
Great class, full of easy work, lots of reading, but it's not that hard, lots of optional videos that help so much, just stay on top of work and redo the quizzes when needed. The two essays aren't hard; they are 500-600ish words each.
The best professor! He is so wholesome and cares alot about his students learning the material and enjoying class. It is an easy class; you take notes outside of class, and then in class there is discussion. He'll ask you for your thoughts to share with the class, but there is no pressure, and no answer is incorrect! Loved this class!
I loved this course! 6 quizzes, 2 "essays" that are 500 words, and many extra credit opportunities! Reading was hard to get through in a 7 week course.
Professor Adamson is passionate about religion and it makes the lectures interesting. He is really kind and prioritizes learning rather than assessment.
Professor is great, if you are looking for a course to fulfill humanist course, i highly recommend taking this! So so easy, ended up with a 98% in class. It is a 7 week course, 2 total papers that take less than 2 hours each to do, and one quiz a week with three tries ( cumulative of all your scores). read textbook = easy A. such a good 3 cr course
Best gen-ed ever. You get 2 late freebies which are helpful, 3 attempts on every quiz AND the final is just all the quizzes mixed together! Spent most of the time reading the textbook, but if you don't procrastinate and are good at note taking, you could easily get 100% in this course! Plus, Adamson is very considerate. There is extra credit too.
