Dr. Andreasyan is an awesome math teacher. He has a sense of humor, is patient and very understanding. I'm not sure why the previous students rated him poorly. I would recommend Dr.Andreasyan to students who are afraid of math.
His tests are straight from the book and homework. You don't have to really come to class, you just have to do your homework. Don't slack off, like I did, he doesn't give extra credit and you will suffer during the final. He drops your lowest test grade!
Dr. Andreasyan is very clear about his teaching and very nice. He is not boring like other math teachers and he is helpfull. If you study and pay attention in the class you will do well in his class
passionate about teaching
I took him in the Summer of 2003 and yes he does drop lowest score, will allow for extra time on tests even though he'll say duration is only one hour. He's kool like that! He's on sabbath for Fall so look out for him in Winter, or Spring 2004 semester.
This man is passionate about teaching and good at it. He also truly cares for his students.
Nothing bad to say..nothing good either. I would rather take Ghahramanyan.
he is a great teacher, but hard to got a A...mostly ppls got a high B at the end
He looks like Napolean!hes a nice guy.Great teacher
lecture and exams are very straight forward, he goes strictly by the book. So if you are concept learner then you might get bored but great guy, truly cares about his students.
VERY HELPFUL
He is very nice and helpful, but not the best at explaining things. The tests are 100 times harder than anything you are taught or do for homework. There are things on the tests that he does not go over on class so you have to use your book!
i really love this teacher.. he teaches clearly so that you can understand the lesson well. he assigns some hw n if you always do your hw the tests won't be hard for you... but only if u really do the hw (no cheating or looking for the answer in the solution manual book). i got an A in his class.
He's really a good, good, good teacher, he explains very clearly.Just do his HW and u can do well in his tests. His grading is fair and very lenient.Take him and I'm sure you will learn a lot. I got an A in this class.
great teacher! is awesome take him if you want to do well and excell inmath. look no further take professor Andreasyan
his teaching is clear, to the point and easy to understand
I've taken calculus at PCC 3 times now. ANDREASYAN is the best i've taken! VERY CLEAR and VERY HELPFUL! at first he seemed scary but is really nice and wants his students to succeed. He is very very FAIR and tries to help you as much as he can! He has 8 tests which is good because he breaks down the chapters EASIER TO LEARN!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

His really a nice guy and actually answers you questions and is really cool when you ask dumb question and helps alot when you need it.........
kool teacher, easy
he is one of the best teachers that i have ever had. i had an absolute zero understanding of math at all until i had him. he was the first person that made it click. it was the only class i ever had that i left with an A and made me feel good about myself instead of like a complete idiot. wonderful!
He's is one of the best teachers at pcc. He teaches step bt step and answers every question you have, with out him i would still be in math 400 looking like an idiot.
NOT A BAD TEACHER AT ALL.
Has a little accent problem. Kind of anal about being absent. Other than that, he's a good teacher but a conservative.
i took his class in winter. i learned most of the class from tutors in the math lab. he grades hard. docks too many points on tests, even if you the steps right, but the answer wrong he doesnt even give you a point for trying like many math teachers would.
He gives LOADS of homework but i'm sure all math classes do. He gives tests every week just about, they're short 10 questions tests but you better know all your formulas in his class r your ****ed. He's not very clear with teaching, he basically goes over your homework problems so unless you teach yourself well don't take his class
no quizes, too much homework, 10 question tests that dont help you raise your grade, you dont have room to do bad, a few questions wrong and you'll fail. he starts off helpful and then later on he doesnt like to answer questions at all and makes you feel stupid if you ask, or dont know. he skips several steps and assumes you know it, or should
I love this teacher! he is strict with homework but that only helps you because you wouldnt be in 401 if you understood math. I finally found a teacher that helped me understand and made me realize that people who are good in math arent super humans! Dr. Andreasyan if you ever read this i am forever grateful...THANK YOU.
He is one of the easiest math teachers I have ever had. He goes step by step and reviews over anything that you did not get. Doesn't mind helping as long as you ask. I got an A in his class and I'm pretty sure everyone else got atleast a B or C as well.
cool professor very helpful and never makes you feel stupid for asking questions I took him for the entire year and our whole class petitioned twice to have him teach the next class and math dept ok it both times
best professor! he is nice and test are easy. he collects hw when we have test so i didnt need to do hw everyday, i liked it!!! just do your hw and make sure that you know all the problems and you can even get 100% each tests. lecture is clear too. i think he's much easier than kasfy. i wish he would teach math5a5b.
He is ok. I am horrible at math but passed a, might not pass b. The tutors in the math lab which you have to go to are kind of weak, they talk non stop to each other and act like they are the ****. The class has soo much hw that does not benifit your grade but you have to do it for the test. If you show work on test but get wrong answer, no points.
he is not strict. but he gives a lot hw. n hw will take much percent of ur grade. so do u hw as much as u can . this also will help u to prepare the quiz. i can say the quiz is easy if u do hw. but the final exam is hard cuz it gives many kinds of problems. u may forget what u learnt at the beginning when u take final. anyway, he s a good professor
ONE WORD OF ADVICE THAT WILL SAVE YOU ALL A WHOLE SEMESTER AND SAVE YOU FROM FAILING...DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT TAKING ANY OF HIS CLASSES! this guy has no clue how to teach!!!
easy...
One of the best math teachers I've had. His tests weren't too hard, but I learned alot in the class anyways. Go to class and pay attention and you'll do well!
Adorable man. Gives out a decent amount of homework. Will take a day to review before exams.
cool, this professor is awsome
Nice person, speaks clearly. He is a patient teacher, he don't mind if he need to explain the same thing for three times.I got an A from him.I would like to take his class again.
DON'T TAKE HIM, HE GRADES UNFAIR, TESTS ARE HARD, A LOT OF HW... BOTTOM LINE, NOT RECOMMENDED!!!
he looks very very nice, his lecture is good, but just a little fast,so some people think its not good.tests are not very tricky, ust 2out of 8 are too many questions, little time.but overall is good
Ive taken him twice-bec hes real nice and patient. he gives a GOOD amount of HW. soo if u dont have time...u'll hav a problem...he collects the HW on fridays..test are not tricky...he wears the same thing OVER and OVER!! lol..yet looks presentable..
Great teacher, patient and easy to understand.
Take him! Math is my weakest subject and he was SO patient and kind with me. He does give out a lot of homework so if you're not willing to do the work, why are you in school?
I took math 402 with him since i forgot all math materials since i graduated from high school! I hated math but because he was so patient in teaching i now love math! he is very nice and collects homework every test date! it worth 15% of your grade and he drops the lowest!
hes very patient
He is a very patient professor. The class is a fast pace, but if you can keep up with the large amount of homework, you can easily pass this class. Bottomline, if you're willing to devote your time to this teacher's lectures and do the homework you'll get an A like I did. Great professor, very professional.
I really enjoyed taking this course. I took it during the Fall intercourse, it envolved alot of work and focus. If I would have tried a little harder, I would have gotten a better grade. The Professor is very patient and gives time to review any questions the class/student has...I will take him again in 131!
He teaches the lower levels of math pretty good, but he doesn't teach Calculus very well. He goes way too fast and his tests are nothing related to the hw. If you are taking this class just to get a C, good luck. He is really hard and doesn't walk you step by step how to learn Calculus.
gives so much partial credit that you have to be retarded not to pass with a C. forget the other prof's take him.
He is one of the best teachers at PCC, easy to understand and very helpful. I did not understand some of the comments on this teacher saying he doesn't speak english this man speaks perfect english, he is crystal clear. I give him a 10...
Great teacher!
He knows how to teach. If you want an A take his class.
Do not take him for calculus. He is very hard and confusing. He does not help you much and just breezes through everything. His test are hard and tricky and the material isn't covered in class.
During lectures it feels like he doesn't go into as much detail as other profs. but you actually comprehend and learn it easier! Using MathXL for hw is great and the tests are similar to hw. He doesn't try to trick you what you learn is what you get and you'll learn a lot! Amazing teacher, finally got me to pass after 4 times! TAKE HIM!!!!!!!!!!!
I heard he does not explain well in Math 5A, but in the previous levels of math I think he is just fine. I took him for math 131 in the short session. He was awesome because he was very patient. Was willing to wait for students to understand a concept before moving on to the next. Very nice guy. Definitely recommended for algebra classes.
did not like the class, you have to show your work on all homeworks turned it and he barely gives any points for doing all that work, practically the class is graded only by your test grades.
He's a good professor.
Math 5a is the highest level of math that he taught in pcc, it is really hard for him to teach us,nobody understands what he taught, and he will only give 2 example out off each section and you have to do all the hw and sometimes even #s also. take some asian dudes or socrates, it is 100 times better than him, done recommend people take him for 5A
He's like a middle eastern version of Mario. Cuuuuube. Ok, serious mode. I don't know how he teaches for other classes, but 131 he was straightforward. The homework was way harder than the tests. Just go to class, pay attention, do your homework and you're good. If you fail that's because you didn't give a crap. Seriously.
If you have notice the rating, he doesnt start to teach math 5A about a year ago, I dont know how he teaches lower level math, but guys, dont take him for 5A, he is probably the most difficult prof, and he just breeze thru things so fast and you have to do a lot hw which is not helpful towards ur test at all, test questions r hard and u never seen
one of the greatest that teach math 131 and math3. pay attention to him and most of the time u dont have to take notes. test are easy if you do homework. great guy and teacher.
one of the greatest
Great teacher. Explanation is perfect. If you are going to take more calculus classes take him first. Excelent professor.
He goes over things so fast. Seriously, barely even gives any examples.
Great math teacher. he sounds like he says "squirt" instead of "SQUARE" which is for some reason distracting. lol. yes he does wear the same CHANCLAS with socks but he's presentable and professional. VERY VERY VERY RESPECTFUL and PATIENT. great teacher overall.
Thought this professor was very patient. Try to not miss class or you'll miss a lot. Very kind teacher and pretty easy as long as you do the homework.
He is the best math teacher ever. He assigns a lot of homework but it dues at the end of the chapter, so u have a lot of time to make up and finish it. His test is not much difficult as long as you do your homework everyday. Recommended if u want to get an A. Easy class, but u learn alot.
before i picked out a math teacher i went on RMP and they said Andreasyan was a really good teacher, LIES!!! the guy goes super fast and gives like no examples and way to much homework. If you are planning on taking his class dont take a bunch of other ones because his hw takes up all of your time!!!!
He's a good teacher, and explains everything very well. My only complaints are, I hate taking notes and he insists on everyone taking notes on everything he writes, not just the problems he asks you to do. Also, if you don't like my math lab or mathXL, don't take his class, he uses my math lab for all the homework. I personally can't stand MML.
This teacher explains math in a way you will appreciate later on, so I highly recommend to everyone.
Really organized, clear, and straight to the point. He doesn't like to waste time and gets right to it. Drops one exam, and the exams are easy. Exams are based of classwork and homework. No tricky questions. He has a funny bone if you joke with him
Mr. Andreasyan is a very good professor to take because he explains each new concept, he is a real teacher. I had him for a summer class that went fast and I am not good in math and I got an A in his class. Ask questions in class when you don't understand, WHILE he's explaining the concept. He's very patient and explanatory.
Pretty good teacher a little vague at times but nice he trys to get everyone to understand the idea of the problems and how they work but doesnt do to much in class practice so you need to work on problem areas on your own. And all homework is done online so your going to need a code from the math book. But over all alright teacher.
super easy
Best teacher I've had so far. Easy, he explains everything very well & will be more than happy to explain it again if you don't understand the concept. I was absent quite a lot but it didn't weigh my grade down. Assignments are done via My Math Lab which was helpful & not hard at all. Also, you rarely use the textbook but it's good to have it.
I took his class in fall semester. I think everyone in the class pass with at least B.
Do your homework. Practice writing neatly as some tests do NOT have enough room to show work. Some tests toward end don't have enough time to take the test so again practice. Do ALL of your homework. Group work is annoying so again, do ALL your homework so your'e prepared. Other than that try to participate. Exams are pretty straightforward.
Took him for the summer. I was failing his class and he;s very thorough and helpful. Do homework and classwork and you would pass.
Great guy! I struggle with math but he was very helpful. Just do all his homework and pass the test with at least a C and you'll pass :)
Very nice professor. No extra credit, hw work all in mymathlab and class work before each exam. Drops lowest exam, one final. 10% hw,5% Class work, rest is exams and final. He gives partial credit, but I don't like that hw is only 10%. Does take attendance and if you don't do hw, points are deducted from exam.
Mr. Andreasyan is a good teacher, he is nice.
It is difficult to read his writing. His English is not very clear. He gives a boat load of homework. He sometimes does not teach you things that are present in the homework. There are times where he fails to come up with examples and asks the students for an example though he did not yet teach the concept. He shows littleno interest in teaching.
Course wasn't easy, but it wasn't hard either. Make sure you attend each class and do the homework prior to class. This applies to all classes. If you don't understand something, ask before, after, or during office hours. He took the time to answer my questions. Students that did bad were ones who ditched class and even try completing the hw.
Goes over math questions if you provide them to him. His exams aren't that difficult. If you do the classwork he assigns before exams you will surely get a good grade. He drops the lowest exam grade. Also, deducts points on exams if you don't fully complete the homework assignments. Passed with an A. I would recommend him, he's a great professor.
It is a great lecture. It is the first time that I like maths in my life, The classwork in group is helpful, and professor clearly demonstration make us easy to get it.
we did homework online and he drops lowest exam. I thought this class was hard and doing the homework online made me lose my concentration. questions reset when you answer wrong 2 times. Professor is nice, clear in his teaching. I'd say if I understood math more.. there is no reason not to take him again.
Lectures are super clear. If you have a question, he will take the time to explain the material again. Before each test, there's a practice exam that's similar to the actual exam and he's an easy grader on the tests. Homework is graded by completeness, but if you have a question on it, ask and he'll go over it with the class.
He often rushes through material. But, if you ask questions, he will explain it in detail. He is very helpful for those who need it. His group quizzes are almost identical to the tests. Overall, he is a very good prof and I would certainly take him again.
Grayr is a very good professor, he grades very well. He made math very clear and organized. He uses myMathLab for homework, which is actually quite helpful. I hate math but he is a good professor and he lets you out 10-15 mins early. Class work is similar to the tests. I recommend him!
Very solid professor. Very knowledgable about math and encourages students to ask questions a lot. For this semester, at least, he used ALEKS, an online homework program that I found to be very useful. Tests are straightforward. He never tries to trick you. Just pay attention in class and do the homework and it is an easy A.
I hate math and I am terrible at it, but Andreasyan made it bearable. He was open to questions and he made sure that everyone understands the lecture before leaving the class. I wanted to take him for math 7A, but his time didn't fit my schedule--big mistake for me. His classwork is similar to the exam, and as long as you study that, you're good
Math has always been a difficult subject for me but Professor Andreasyan has made it easier for me through his thorough lectures. Getting a good grade in the class is not difficult as long as you do the homework!
Great teacher ! Tests are not very hard . Most of his students get an A.
This is a math professor who really teaches you! His lectures and notes are so clear and he will help you on anything. His exams aren't easy but they aren't impossible! The homework is done online through ALEKS, which is helpful! He really cares about his students excelling. I absolutely recommend!
He is one of the best professor I've ever had in PCC. He is very nice and helpful. He explains his lecture clearly. Easy A if you do your homework. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!
No extra credits. Homework is a little bit more. 8 EXAMS in total weigh 65% and a final weighs 20% . 10 Questions each exam. Only 2 or 3 are from homework and classwork or what he wrote on the board. However, the exams are not hard, and he will drop the lowest one. You can get an A if you do the homework with care. Highly recommended!
I respect him. He explains in full about what he teaches, and checks if everyone is ok with his explanation. His lecture is clear and helps understand math easily. However, his lecture goes so fast that this class can be harder than your expectation. If you take his class, you'll face a bunch of homeworks and tests. Test is kind of difficult.
Pros: 1.) Patient, caring, and willing to answer any questions in class. 2.) Very lenient and grades fairly on exams. 3.) Fair amount of hw and exams. Cons: 1.) Lectures purely from the book, copies word for word. 2.) Barely any examples. 3.) Exams almost nothing similar to hw. Overall if you already know calculus, take him, but learning it? No.
He tries to make students understand what he teaches as much as possible. BUT, several exams are pretty hard. If you want to get an A, you'd better look for other classes. Just a few classmates for an A. In a word, one of the hardest math classes at PCC.
The lecture is enjoyable. But there is too much homework to do after the class. There are about 7 exams and 1 final, but he would drop the lowest exam. Do the classwork and homework, you will be fine on the exam. He would help you if you have questions. He barely gives extra credits, but he will give partial credits when grading the exams.
Such a great professor would definitely recommend and take again! Before each test, we'd work in pairs on a study guide to review the information that would be on the test. He was very clear in his teaching, he has a slight accent but was still very easy to understand. I hope he teaches higher math levels!
Best math professor I've ever had in PCC. He is knowledgeable and very kind. His lectures are very clear and helpful. I almost got 100 for all the tests except making some mistakes sometimes. His classwork is helpful because it helps you review what you've learnt. As long as you pay attention in class and do all HW, you'll pass with an easy A.
He is the best math professor ever. He is willing to help his students as much as possible. Lots of HW, but you just need to turn it in on test day. I always get an A on his tests and classwork. Pay attention in class and do your HW, you'll pass his class with an A for sure. Highly recommended!!!!
Prof. A is a wonderful prof. Does not read thru textbook's way, rather he gives a much more simple solution to solve equations. Math 9 is not hard compared to mathpath 7A7B, especially with Andreasyan. Very understanding and helpful when you need help. Textbook is a must. No extra credit. Drops lowest test score of all the tests you take.
He's very smart, but you need to ask questions. He likes to explain things once, but he'll explain it again if you ask him. Don't be afraid to be wrong, you most certainly get better through practice.
If you took Pre-calc in high school and got a low B or a C, DO NOT take this class. You are better off taking 7A and then 7B if you want an A. This class moves extremely fast, covering 3-4 sections per day. Each section we are given about 30-40 Homework problems. If you are good at pre-calc then you will be fine, most is review.
He knows how to teach
Gives a lot of homework. Just do the homework and study for the test and the grade will come.
Just pay attention in class, do the homework, and you'll do fine on the tests. His tests are basically what he lectures in class. This is also coming from someone who go Cs in both semesters of pre-calc in high school.
DO YOUR HOMEWORK! I had a method to getting an A in the class. Class Notes / Read book and do the examples / do homework. Then before the test I'd redo any problems i had problems with. Don't miss class because it's a lot of info. He Marks points off your test if you don't do your HW. But He's a good professor for sure. NO BOOK NEEDED !! ALL CANVAS
He's an okay professor. He teaches the material and finishes on time. He does give a lot of homework and it's graded, so it's best if you do it. His tests are straight-forward. If you do the homework, you'll pass. I find that he's more of a generous grader. He only deducts points, so the lowest score possible on tests is around a 50 (if you try).
seems mean but really generous guy. about 8 exams (60%), 1 final (20%), hw (15%), classwork (helps prepare you for exam-- 5%). class goes by really quick, 2-3 lessons a day (alway finish). do your hw (often get test questions from even problem) because similar to exams. he is ok nice guy drops lowest test score. does not use canvas no ec
His personality is bleh, but his passion for math helped me in this class. Lectures are easy to understand and thorough. If confused, he'll try his best to explain in different ways. Do the homework! It's tedious but he gives credit if you do just ONE problem. Take notes and study! He gives study guides before very quiz which helps A LOT!
By Far the worst math Professor ever. He expects you to know the material the first day of class. He goes through the chapters very fast! He does not explain at all. His test are very hard. He assigns lots of homework, a lot of the times homework includes problems in which he did not teach at all. Avoid taking him.
This guy is by far the worst professor I have taken. Generally, I have been average in math, but I am not learning anything at all. His lectures are so long and BORING. He assigns way too much homework and most of the problems he didn't explain. He uses no transitional words either so you never know if he's talking about a new topic or not
Do not take him. His lectures are extremely dry, he gives way too much homework that makes sense, and his teaching style is horrible. I am usually an average student in math, but his class takes me back to square one of not understanding. I am stressing out over his workload because I am basically teaching myself at this point. DO NOT TAKE HIM
very nice teacher, sometimes funny during class but he can't teach! he gives way too much hw and doesn't review over it and he zooms through multiple lessons in one day. the lessons are very dense and the examples he does in class are much simpler than the ones he gives on the tests so when you go over your notes, it's not helpful at all.
If you plan on learning do not take him. Goes too fast, only cares about saying he taught it when he didn't. If you ask him to go over a problem again he will say there is no time. Only cares about getting through the textbook as fast as he can. He expects you to know how to do the math already, skips over chapters because of this expectation.
lectures are not bad but he doesn't have much enthusiasm. still, he's a nice guy. you may have to self teach slightly if you don't have previous knowledge on the subject. goes through multiple chapters each day. lots of textbook homework that you must complete. gives classwork (aka study guides) before each test and they do help for the most part.
He is an extremely caring professor, he assigns a lot of homework but you only have to do 50% of it to be counted (says on syllabus). Before every test, he will go over all the material that will be on it which is very helpful. Although, he goes through material really fast so if you skip you're gonna miss A LOT. Honestly, he isn't a bad professor.
He teaches from the book, but knows what he is talking about. In this class there are 7 exams plus final and LOST OF HOMEWORK. Even though there is lots of homework it helps prepare you for the exams. no quizzes. exams are usually easier than homework he assigns and classwork. Great professor overall.
Andreasyan isn't a good teacher I understood most his lectures only because I took PreCal in HS. Most other students didn't and would often complain about that. Tests are easily passable as they're similar to the study guides he gives out. I had an A overall and got a D in the final, since he doesn't specify as to what to study for the final.
Dr. A is a wonderful professor; He is always answering any questions the students have. The way he teaches is very clear and you can understand the material quickly. The key to passing this class with a B or an A is to pay attention, ask a question when needed, do your homework and never miss class and if you have to ask a classmate for notes.
He is a really passionate professor who truly cares about our education and the understanding of math. His class does provided you to work/study at least 2 hours a day outside of class. His test are simple, if you do the homework/classwork you'll pass this class.
He is a good pro
This class is fast but easy. Tests are based on lectures. Very easy.
I got an A but that is only because I took it in high school and worked super hard. Miss one class and you're done. He cares about his students but he just moves so darn fast. IF YOU HAVE NO BACKGROUND IN PRE-CALC... DO NOT TAKE THIS! Trust me, you will struggle. Homework is 70-90 problems per night with 16 tests, 11 quizzes, plus final. Good luck
Its a great class... that is if you took pre- calculus and passed it, if not you'll fail this class too; he goes way too fast and uses a book that has problems that are even more difficult than math 9. Students would have trouble with the subject because its not explained too specifically. Find another class that can be more helpful.
Dr. Andreasyan is very caring and wants you to succeed. He is accessible outside of class and encourages student's to ask questions. The exams are very straight forward to what was lectured on and he gives you credit for the homework even when you have only done half. He is a great prof. and is trying his best with PCC's new math curriculum!
Prof. Andreasyan gives a lot of examples and dislikes it when the class does not participate. He cares about attendance, so if you are late or miss class, he will call you out. He can seem a bit condescending, and if you don't like writing on the board, be on time or just don't take his class. He likes giving out hw, which is helpful but tedious.
Better than expected. Not too fast. Tests are mostly from homework and classwork. Don't skip classes and do your work, you'll get an A.
Prof. Andreasyan is an amazing professor. His lectures are fast, but he constantly asks his students whether he's going too fast, and if they wanted anything repeated. He also really cares about his students and asks us how we're doing. Gives a lot of homework but they're due before the test. He also does groupwork to help us study before the test
I already knew precal and got a B on one test only. It's just a lot of work if you're new to the subject. A lot of homework and like 8 tests iirc. If you're completely new to the subject it'll take a lot of effort to get an A. Like 7 people dropped
Explained the concepts very well. The class was pretty easy.
