A great instructor who allows anyone to ask any questions. He is always ready to help you and is inviting when it comes to office hours. By the end, you really wanna make some serious changes in the way you take care of your health.

This guy is very intelligent but still very down to earth. He gives you the facts and allows you to develop an opinion rather than shoving his helath opinions at you. His tests can be passed if you study with his study sheets You'll learn a lot from him!!

Very easy, just keep up with the readings and the notes and dont be late to class, he hates that. otherwise, its a really fun class.

Mr. Burchett's class is easy if you study, come on time, and pay attention. I earned an A in his class but after a not so hot score on the 1st test because I didn't take studying seriously. He is always there to help if you need him..and he will explain it to you 10 times as long as you are sincere

Burchett is by far the best teacher I have ever had, period. I only wish more professors were as compassionate, caring, and dedicated as he is. Always eager to help students...however, you will have to pay your dues by putting forth time/effort..there is a lot of material to cover. Great prof/class.

He's a perfect, all-around teacher. I've never seen such concern for students' academic pursuits. His head is full of facts (and a few jokes). The class is hard no matter who you take, but Burchett is awesome, and he'll do whatever he can for his students. He truly loves his job, and it reflects through his teaching.

Here's a walking/talking/living man who knows Biology. Mr. Burchett is a funny guy, but when he's in the classroom he means business. Tough teacher because he really wants to you to learn, and extremely helpful especially if the material is difficult to understand.

He is a teacher with great knowledge of the field. Great skills to teach funny, body movement and expressions and interaction with and between students. His tests are hard because he'll throw couple of ansewrs very close to the right answer. I will recomend to anyone to take that class it is a lot information to red and learn though.

This teacher kicks butt!! He makes learning fun and comes up with the craziest jokes and ideas for things. I love this class and recommend him to all my friends. Not only is he funny but he is also really there for you. If you don't understand he is very open about you going to his office, calling him, emailing him, or seeing him before or after class. Very cool teacher. Very interested in his students. He puts a lot of energy into his teaching, and obviously enjoys doing it. I highly recommend him. He never drops surprises on his students, and continues relationships with students who are no longer in his class. Overall nice guy.

I took a couple semester ago for Health Science and he was the coolest professor I have had at R.C.C. I completely recommend him to any student that dreads boring, SLOW science classes. Hopefully in a semester or 2 I can take him for Bio 1 (that damn class fills up like nothing else).

HE challenges you. If you stay on your game and keep up with the reading you wont feel like such a dumbass for letting him and yourself down.

i took him for health science in the spring semester and he was unbelievably the funniest and smartest teacher at RCC! I will never forget how the heart works, what a T Cell does or even the famous pictures that he draws. Truly a teacher who is passionate about his work and his students! Recommended for all who need health!

Definetely a guy who knows his information. He is passionate about his work and really goes out on a limb for you if you need his help. He always made our class laugh and had so much great information and jokes to share with us. He cares about his students and definetely wants to see them succeed whether it is in Bio. or something else.

Great teacher!!! It's rare to find a teacher that actually gives a crap about his students future. The class can get a little rough at times but he's always there for help. Just read the book and take good notes and you'll be just fine. Also try to get his lab w/ his class.

Go to his office, let him see your face, show him you're interested in learning in his class. I'll never forget his "what am I?" questions. Lots of tension breakers. Good stuff.

He's a very energetic teacher! Very helpful and knows ALOT about biology. Has a quiz every week in which he's not very clear on questions. Sometimes he quizes on things that are not in the book, so ask lots of questions and study your notes! Two lab pracs that are very easy if you study. Would take him again.

Mr. Burchett is a great teacher, though I found most of his teaching strategies unclear. His sense of humor makes up for it completely, but it's not going to help one pass the class. You'll have a bumpy road ahead of you if you take Biology with Greg - he's tough, but he cares.

Very intruiging, turned my head completly around for biology. Even though biology is not my field of study, I currently have several experiments which do include a lot of biology in them.

i totally disagree. this is on of the most involved teachers i've ever had. he is hard but if you expect a college biology class to be easy than maybe biology isnt for you. one thing though, he is VERY willing to help out anyone who askes. if you study the book and take good notes, you'll pass. I'm currently taking Bio 1, so I don't know what my grade is yet, so this is really unbiased. I like Mr. B. He is really helpful and seems genuwinely concerned about his students passing. He is a really funny guy and got me interested in Biology. And I'm really not a big fan, lol. Be prepared to study... ALOT!! 3-4 hrs a day... I do.

Greg is a really nice, funny guy! However, if you depend on a good lecture-er, he's not the one for you. If you're able to study on your own, you can manage nicely.

Funny, clear, interesting. I only took this class as a "feeler," but this class, and Burchett's passion for the subject got me started down a path towards a career change. The tests are reflective of the material he covers in class and of the book, AND really helped me in later classes. He's a great professor.

THE BEST!!! Ive taken bio & never could understand or remember anything until taking Zoo w/ Burchett. Hes a wonderful teacher!! Attractive, and his intellect makes him even more attractive. I'm currently taking his short-term class. It's a lot of material to learn but since he knows that Bio1 is for non-science majors, he doesn't go into that much details. He goes over the important things and tells you not to worry about too much details. Even though he jokes a lot, that joke is still somehow related to the topic. He's awesome.

He is one of the coolest teachers I have ever had. Anybody who says he is mean or hard either is just stupid or does not attend. He has a great sense of humor and is extrememly helpful. If you have any problems he really does want you to ask him. BIO is his passion and it is easy to tell.

Honestly, in two years ago I took biology with different professor, and yet I retook that class with Greg Burchet. As a reault, I passed with a great grade! He has a website w/ his ppts. & he responds to emails quickly and cares about students who care. There are 3 tests & 3 research assigmnts that R pretty easy. I took this class in Fall 2009! This class was amazing. I learned SO much. He is a GREAT teacher and he has a study guide online. If you work on the study guide, read before class, and take notes during lecture, there's no doubt you'll get an A in the course. I got an A in the class even though I bombed the final!

Good professor who really does care about his students. He may seem unapproachable and intimidating, but like he once told me, he is just big teddy bear. I really do recommend taking him, but be warned that you will have to study! I had to learn this the hard way after I failed his class.

I am a biology major and when i took this class, i know most of the information already. when he would be teaching the class i would get confused on how he taught some things. these kids didnt know the subject yet so i cant imagine how confused they were. hes cool, cares for his students you can ask questions in his office. 3 tests 1 essay 1 final

His zoology class was my favorite! He is a great professor. He teaches University style, so everything comes straight from the book and labs. Your LAB JOURNAL means everything!! I got C's on most of the exams, but he was so impressed with my lab journal he asked to keep it. I got a B :) You are required to study in this class! It's not easy!!

I don't know how someone can say that he's a bad teacher, he is such a funny teacher and always makes jokes but it makes learning fun! He's there when you need him in work or just someone to talk to I was not really expecting to like this class but say its because he was the professor. subject can be hard if its your first science class. One of the best teachers I have had. I ended up dropping the class because it didn't transfer, but he was helpful nonetheless. He was supportive of me doing what I needed to do, and showed true concern in my understanding of the class and what I wanted to do after college. Just be kind, read, show interest in the class and you should do great.

Let me start off by saying that the only reason people don't do good in this class is because they are lazy. Yes, Burchett assigns a lot of tedious work, but it is because there is a LOT to learn. I took him for Intro to Zoology & he is genuinely my favorite professor of all time. He genuinely cares & makes the class fun. Take it serious!

He's a great professor. I took him fall 2013. His exams are based on the pps he goes over in class. He puts the pps and study guides online. He has a sense of humor. I had to learn him because sometimes his jokes left me a little confused. He is a very sincere and kind teacher who wants us to succeed. I highly recommend him if you want to do well.

He's a really wonderful teacher. He's helpful, just make sure to ask otherwise he will assume you know what you're doing. Do all study guides for each exam and keep them for the final! Read! so you know what he's talking about in lecture/lab. Work in groups outside of class incase you need help too!

Better professor than Smith, Tayarr, and White. The way he teaches makes you interested, but at the end of the day it takes anyone among themselves to have interest in any subject. He's helpful! He does jokes but he still relates it to his teaching. Study and do the guides and read so you know what's being taught! Ask Q's! work with others too!

*Winter Session* 1st exam- 35 multiple choice, 2 short answer, 2 one paragraph answers. 2nd exam- 35 multiple choice, 4 explanation answers, 1 extra credit answer. 3rd exam- 50 multiple choice, 6 explanation answers, 1 extra credit answer. Final- 100 multiple choice, 1 extra credit answer. Both lab practicals- 50 questions each.

Mr. Burchett is extremelyextremely helpfulhelpful and truly cares for his students. If you get confused he has office hours and he will explain the answers to all your questions step by step. He makes bio as as possible. Not a easy A. Ask questions and go to class or you may get lost. Interesting research paper. Do note cards, they help. GL

This is my fave teacher at RCC. I was dreading BIO but he made it interesting and I am now exploring other areas such as ecology. His lectures are really interesting because he knows the subject really well and doesn't rely on boring power points. Test were easy for me but others found them harder. Lectures are very entertaining. Burchett is a great professor, and encourages students to seek career opportunities within scientific fields of study. However, I found his grading to be unfair. He often favored female students, and gave better grades for work. I advice you all to do the study guides he provides. YOU WILL WORK HARD NO DOUBT!

understanding concepts is critical rather than memorizing definitions

He is very passionate about his job, He lectures in a way that gets his students involved, and He expects you to read the material beforehand. He hates power points, bc students tend to fall asleep. He does however have power points posted online. There are four major tests and one essay. There were only two lab exams. Miss class fall behind.

BEST TEACHER ON CAMPUS! Phenomenal. Caring. Helpful. Passionate about what he teaches. He wants students to succeed. Bio is a tough class and there's alottttttt of material but MR B will do everything in his power to help you be successful if you put in the effort. He truly cares and is a wonderful teacher. Honestly anyone taking down on Professor G I don't understand. He has been the most influential, hilarious, down to Earth professor I've had yet. It's pretty clear that Biology is a Subject that you have to put in the effort to succeed. Therefore just put in the effort to read, study and listen and you'll be alright. Do the assignments he gives.

Don't get me wrong, he doesn't hand out A's, but he is so motivating he makes you want to put in the work.

Professor Burchett is hands down the best professor I have ever had. He is willing to help you as long as you are willing to put in the work. His lectures/lab are a lot of fun and it is incredible how much you are learning while having fun. He keeps you engaged and interested the entire time. Loved his class and was sad when it came to an end.

Burchett is by far the best professor I have ever had! I would take bio 1 all over again just to have him as my teacher. He's an incredible teacher and really makes you WANT to learn. If you seem interested he will do his best to help you understand. I loved how he incorporates his life stories, it really helped me understand the material.

Prof. Burchett is so funny and awesome. This is my first science class of many that I have to take and he has made a difference in that arena. I would def. recommend taking him. His ppts are very helpful, make sure you read EVERYTHING, fill out the student packet, GO TO S.I., read and do lab journal and manual, study with time you should do good.

Took Burchett for WIN'16. HEAVY workload, but was only required for the tests, they are Multiple choice and he provides students with a "handbook" to prepare! you must ask questions and read all notes in order to pass exams. STUDY STUDY STUDY. getting an A isnt impossible, but you have to put in time and youll get it. LOVED this professor!!!!

Best Prof. At RCC Hands Down! This class has a lot of material to remember but it is manageable. Your grade is mainly test with no HW so DO NOT slack off in this class. As far as Prof. Burchett he is amazing! He goes above and beyond to help you if your willing to try. His lectures are never dual, he is hilarious! I defiantly recommend him!

Burchett is a very caring professor. He loves his job and wants to help you pass the course. He makes the course interesting and gives you a different perspective on major controversial issues. The course is not going to be easy but he gives a lot of easier points along the way. There are 3 exams and final. No homework. Overall, I highly recommend

Really good professor! Absolutely loved his lectures, explains everything so well and will keep it more interesting by sharing stories and telling jokes. Lecture exams are solely based on his powerpoints, while lab exams do require time and effort. Do as told on student study packet and you will more than likely pass the class.

Great professor and great at teaching biology. He helps you understand the concept of it and works with you inside and out of class. He's very caring towards his students. Make sure to study and do all your work and you should do good. Don't hesistate on taking him DO IT ! YOU WONT REGRET IT.

Seriously take this professor, he is one of the best at RCC. He made learning biology so fun and enjoyable. He has so much knowledge on the subject and you will leave knowing so much. If you like Bio, you'll be fine as long as you study. its a lot, but then again it is a science, critical thinking course. If you don't like Bio, he makes it fun. Very accessible outside class for feedback. He loves discussions and participation. Relates topics to outside world, and he has general knowledge, not just Bio. Study to get a good grade

This has to be the most helpful professor that I have come in contact with. If you do not pass his class it is because you did not put the work in. He provides every single tool needed to pass and is always available during his office hours. He makes his class enjoyable and fun. You have to read the book in order to pass the class. Amazing professor for the Spring term. Very considerate and caring. His lectures are heavy, but the lab helps a lot to understand the material. Only issue is he shows irrelevant power points during the lecture and then expects you to read the chapters in the book. Might as well teach the course online if the students have to teach themselves.

Professor B was amazing! Im going to be honest the class is tough but if you put in the work you will do just fine! Read before lecture and the lectures will go by smoothly. He is very caring and very approachable. He is also very funny! The transition to online due to covid was difficult but he added extra worksheets for help & held office hours

Mr.B is an extremely passionate teacher he really wants you to succeed, he gives amazing reviews that correlate to the tests. You will be required to read ALOT on your own. Only issue was people were cheating and he found out and COMPLETELY changed all of the questions to make them way harder. Take this course if you are truly passionate about bio

Hes a really good professor and you can tell he truly cares. This was the hardest class I had this semester but it was worth it. I spent a lot of my time doing work for this class so expect to do the same. This class is not easy but if you put in effort you should be good. I didnt use the book that much but its nice to have.

Greg Burchett is up there with my favorite professors/teachers ever, even in high school. He genuinely cares about his students and is real into what he teaches. The hour and a half of class fly by incredibly fast . You'll learn what needs to be learned from class to get an A, as well as more throughout the term if you let him to get to know you.

Professor Burchett was one of the best Professors I've had and I'm not a Biology major. I'm in design and never considered this class as a necessity. No book needed. Could be more helpful during labs. Tests are hard but study and you'll end up doing fine. Study buy be prepared to know things that were briefly discuss or not discussed at all.

Just finished winter 2022 which was an accelerated Biology class. I really enjoyed this class & enjoyed his lectures. There was a lot of assignments & everything was recorded but i ended with an A. work hard!! he basically gives you every answer in the lecture. if needed i would absolutely take his class again

He was an amazing professor although his tests were hard and there was loads of hw. he was so understanding. he is such an inspirational professor and i def recommend his class if you love to learn. This professor is amazing at what he does. He wants his students to suceed. If you read the textbook and go to his office hours you can easily get an A. He makes learning biology fun and interesting, and he's very understanding and lenient with grading and has often given me extra credit points for well-written responses on assessments.

One of the best professors you could take for BIO! He made the class fun and interesting, even if it was a summer class. Exams weren't that bad if you took lecture notes and read the textbook. Biggest tip is to get classmates # and study in the library before exams. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Lab manual is great to study for the lab exams.

I took Professor B for BIO-1A, and he was an AMAZING professor who cares about his students. Exams are a heavy percent of your grade, but if you use the information from his lectures and the lab manual you should do pretty well. Show up everyday, it really does make a difference learning information in class. Work with him and he will work with you

He was such a fun teacher to have. Seems to really care about helping the students and giving us a few different ways to help us learn the material. Gave us homework after every lecture which most were lengthy but were helpful to use for studying. The tests were a little hard but he did throw in a few easy questions to help us raise our grade.

Prof Burchett is an engaging and understanding instructor who makes biology enjoyable. While the workload is challenging, his lectures and office hours are incredibly helpful. He mandates meeting us on Friday and I never missed one because I requested my employee to provide me with the time to attend her sessions. My all time favorite professor! He made me love bio and was great to ask questions. If you pay attention, and properly study you'll do just fine on the exams. Text book was helpful but rarely read it before class so not that important.

Great Professor with an amazing personality! Lectures were never boring, and labs were always chill and layed back. He does assign a lot of work, 1 quiz for each lecture and 2 for lab. There was 2 lab exams and 4 lecture exams, but he puts jokes and easy/ dumb questions in there, so you get points even if you're struggling. Highly recommend.

Really caring. Throws in a ton of joke during lecture and lab. Make sure to understand the material before class and STUDY. Don't learn the terms instead think about how it works and what it ties into. Make sure to ask a question when you are confused!

Actively participate, watch his videos, and take his assignments serious and it should be an easy and fun class. He offers LOTS of extra credit.

I absolutely loved Professor Burchett! He made learning the material fun and exciting with his stories. He showed that he actually knew his stuff! This is a biology class so it is going to be tough. Hands down best professor I have taken so far. He introduces material in a thought-provoking manner and gets really into it. He truly cares and prefers that you find connections between the lecture and labs instead of dead memorizing terms. Make sure to ask questions and don't be shy. He gives a decent amount of homework but you'll be okay.

He taught lectures in a way that was easy to understand for someone who has a hard time grasping some topics. The labs were a little more difficult but he was always willing to help with anything you needed. You got one full page of notes (front and back) for the exams.

I don't like writing but I felt very compelled to write this. He is extremely engaging and passionate. He assigns a lot of work but doing the work greatly decreases the amount of studying you need to do. STILL STUDY. Makes boring stuff interesting and inspired me to look at things differently. Took this course doing summer, definitely don't think I would have passed this class if Mr. Burchett wasn't my teacher! Although, very fast paced (It is a summer course so as expected) and lots of work. If you have good self discipline and motivation, this class if for you, it's not one to fall behind and once you do it could be hard to go back up

Funny guy and a great man. Teaches his classes well but was a bit confusing. He really wanted to help the students and would go one on one with them. He is also a Keyboard Warrior when turning in assignments.
