Brother Cameron has his style and his way, learn it and you will succeed. Best attributes: all lesson material is available online in an easy to follow and review format; Responds to emails very quickly and is willing to answer any questions you have.
This is his first semester back to the math department...HE SUCKS!! He lets you "explore" SPSS for the homework because he thinks that you should know everything as well as him. He's awful!! You have learn this stuff to do the homework and he gets confused, does it wrong, and then wont go through it right, so DON'T take him!!
I agree with the comment below mine. He will do a problem or two in class, but when you do the homework, you find that there is something he didnt tell you, so you have to figure it out yourself. His take home tests are time consuming, 4+ hours to complete. Kinda anal in class when someone asked him a question. Good to take if your a nerd.
Nice, but boring. Always available in office to talk. Understands subject, but has difficulty explaining.
Brother Cameron does a poor job explaining things and when you dont understand and ask questions he makes you feel stupid, and he gets frusterated when he has to teach...AKA answer any questions
Good to take for Business Stats-especially if you do not understand formulas and such. The textbook is useless but you do need it. He basically just uses SPSS-not that hard to learn. As a teacher, he really doesn't seem to know the material that well. He is a bit anal especially if you ask a lot of questions. Take if you want to get Stats done
Loved him. Way helpful! I really liked his teaching style.
DONT take for stats!!! if you want to start not knowing much about stats and end not knowing much about stats....then do take stats from him. the homework is just to keep you busy and most of it has nothing to do with the lectures in class. at times (mostly start of semester) it is a "figure out SPSS" class rather than a stats class.
Great teacher, I had an awesome time in his class. Not only did I learn a lot, but the teacher has a very good sense of humor
Stats really isnt that fun of a class to begin with, but brother cameron is a good guy and he will help you out if you need it. hes funny at times, he can get a little bothered if you ask stupid questions or questions he has already answered....i like him a lot as a person and a teacher
Great teacher and a really good person, he will help you if you need it. hes always available during his office hours and will help you with anything you need. stats was pretty easy and bro. cameron does a good job teaching it
Bro Cameron is so funny! He says the funniest things, and we always have a good time in his class. The tests are easy, he's always available for help, and he's a great teacher. He knows his stuff.
Oh my goodness.. so hilarious! He loves to joke aorund and totally loves when we make jokes during class as long as we dont get too off topic! He is so funny!! Great teacher! I had a bit of trouble with math, but he was totally willing to help!
I struggle with math but worked hard. Every day I had to study for the quiz. Tests were easy. I week take home tests and and open book/notes. I ended up loving the class. I learned a ton about practical math.
if you are horrible at math.. take math 108 with brother cameron. He puts you into groups which is really REALLY helpful. all tests are take home.. quizzes are all open note. he is a REALLY nice guy and doesnt make you feel dumb. Math is my WORRRSST subject and i pulled off a B without much work so i say definitly take from Bro Cameron!!
I really enjoyed Bro. Cameron as a teacher. He makes sure that everyone understands and doesn't feel stupid. He really wants his students to succede. I am going to take 110 from him as well.
I loved this class! I didn't want to take Statistics at all, but I had to. And I'm really glad I took it from him. He made the class so doable. As long as you go to class and do the homework, you'll get the grade. He teaches things very simply and really cares about your benefit.
He is awsome if you just go and have a good attitude he will help you enough to get an A I dreaded taking stats but from him it was awsome. Make sure to read the day before and you will get 100 on all the quizes
SO EASY! Just listen in class, take notes out of the book for your open note tests every day and double check your take home tests... He really explains the concepts well and makes you want to be more knowledgeable about finance. Great for those non math majors!
Bro. Cameron got irritated easy with our class. Sometimes he would joke around and other times he would get mad if students joked with him. We never knew what kind of mood he would be in.
He's a good teacher. He explains things very well. I don't like math and I did fairly well in this class. However, he did get really irritated and upset w/ his students. We didn't even know why he was so upset. He's a good teacher though. Very easy to understand.
I did was not excited to take stats from all the bad things I'd heard about it. But Bro. Cameron made statistics one of my favorite classes of the semester. He did experiments to make class interesting and really explained things so well that I never had trouble doing my homework or the tests!
He is an awesome teacher.I was really scared to take the class, especially after reading his syllabi.but he teaches so well and all the test are take home.just read and do the homework and you are fine. You do everything in groups and the evaluations count for part of your grade. He is an awesome guy and reall understanding.Take this class from him!
Does a poor job explaining a problem, then gets mad if the class doesn't understand. Uses examples right out of the book, so good luck if you don't get it the first time. If you ask for another example, he evades the question or belittles you for not getting it. He's first out the door everyday, so it's too bad if you need more help Don't take him!
He is a really funny teacher! He doesn't give much homework. He quizzes at the beginning of each class but if you've even glanced at the reading they are way easy. Don't be late! Tests are long but they are take home, open book. Always lets class out early. I would recommend him any day!
This guy is great. You learn what you need to learn and he does a good job teaching it. I wasn't bored in his classes and he keeps a good personality.
Terrible! Mentioned how stats don't apply to his rating here, pretty sure he got his rating removed. His attitude is my way or the highway. None of the information in class is applicable to real life, no real point in going to class. Assignments are done in excel, but hes confusing in what he wants. Class is a joke, but it is easy...
Bro Cameron is a good teacher. He doesn't get along with some of the students, but if you are respectful towards him, you will not have a problem. The class is hard at first, but it gets ten times better after you learn the basics... really, I am totally inept at math, but I got an A in this class, so that should tell you something.
Moves really fast thoruhgout the course, high expectations for students, doesn't seem concerned for students comprehension.
I absolutely loved Brother Camerons class! He did a good job at getting to the point, if we were all ok and understood the concept, he would let us out early (just about everyday). The work was not too hard and he would tell you exactly what would be on the tests. Very funny guy, and made class enjoyable.
Great teacher. Math formulas are done for you through Excel. Give him respect and you shall do fine in his class. Alot of busy work due before classes, but not hard.
Bro. Cameron comes across somewhat intimidating, but his class is not really hard--just alot expected as far as homework and lots of projects. He was not real helpful, I never felt like I could go to him for questions. I used a tutor, or outside sources. He tried really hard but I just didn't feel his sincerity for me to be successful in math.
He tries to make you understand the material but doesn't give great examples. I don't know if it was just this semester because he's getting married but we had tons of days off! And it's hard to learn when the teacher wants you to read a MATH book! Its almost impossible. I'm not good at math so..but I guess I would recommend him
I didn't enjoy his teaching style. and he didn't seem very helpful or understanding
I didn't like his class. I felt he PILED it all at once. Within one class period, we would have a project assigned, a test, 2 chapters to read, a quiz for next time, test corrections...on an on. He isn't a person that you feel like you can go to his office for help. I understood the material, but as the teacher I didn't like him.
Not the greatest, but not terrible. You can get an A if you study. He has you do daily homework and prep. He's not very approachable. If you struggle a lot in Math I wouldn't recommend him.
Accessible, friendly, makes you work hard but you learn a lot. Homework, assignments, projects do take time but they are useful in learning material. Overall, a good teacher.
Not very approachable. Assigned a LOT of homework, including two projects over Thanksgiving break. This class regularly kept me up long past midnight doing all the busy work. Reading due before class, then covers exact same thing in the lecture that he already quizzed you on. Average clarity in lectures. I wouldn't take from him again.
He is a good teacher meaning he is very smart. But if you are needing help, do not take him, you really cannot approach him, he makes you feel really stupid. He shows absolutely no mercy, so if you make a mistake or your computer does, tough luck.
I learned more on my own and in the math lab.
to political, not understanding. does not go over homework during class (not enough time, even though he talked about things not related to math)
Great
This class, was hard. But I have never liked math. Brother Cameron is funny, kind of arrogant. This class was okay. I don't reccomend it but I don't not reccomend it...
WARNING WARNING WARNING!I cannot stand this man! He reminds me of a child in the classroom trying to show everyone how cool he is even when everyone know that he is not. That is how i feel. He never has time to answer questions cause he is always "so busy" but he tells pointless stories.I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS CLASS TO ANYONE! spare yourself.
He is the most stupidest teacher. he doesn't want work shown on projects and is software is outdated so if you have a mac like me then you can't submit projects and he will give you a zero and not say anything. he then emails you how unsmart you are for not doing it right. he wont take a printed copy he says its not practical beware
He is always making mistakes and has no idea how to teach calculus. He never helps and if he makes a mistake grading, he won't care. He is the biggest hypocrite in how he teaches math and then expects us to do it. He can't do any math problem on the board unless he has it written in his notes and even then he gets it wrong. Never take Cameron!
this teacher is the stupidest teacher I've ever had. He has no idea what he is teaching. He could never teach without the manual and even with it he is constantly making mistakes. He wouldn't even be able to correct the homework quizes if his graders didn't put step by step instructions on a slide show for him, even with that he still makes mistake
i did not like his class at all. most if not all of your points are from quizes. gives homework and never goes over it or takes questions about it. if you do ask a question he won't really go over it with you and it's obvious he doesn't like teaching and doesn't like students. i wouldn't recommend his class
Bro. Cameron is a good teach. Hard, yes. But he goes through the material pretty clearly and give us problems in class to help us grasp the material right then and there. I would recommend him. =) You just have to be willing to work hard
Terrible teacher! He gives you a homework quiz each day that is graded either all or nothing points, no partial credit. He usually chooses the only problem on the homework that everyone had problems on. His tests are impossible! You have to know the information and be able to take it a step farther on the exam. DO NOT take this class from him!
I can't fully explain how much I terribly HATED this professor. He is never clear in his explanations & expects you to find out how to understand the homework or projects by yourself. He either has to use his textbook to check or his notes & still can't figure it out. His quizzes are either pass/fail so you're already guaranteed a bad grade.
I created this account to warn students about this teacher. Whatever you do, do not take a math class from him. He gives these ten minute homework quizzes that are pass/fail. So you either understand the entire concept in one day, or get a zero for your homework. And those zeros add up pretty quick. Do yourself a favor and avoid his math classes.
Pretty good at explaining the material, but definitely didn't like him as a person, he's way to opinionated. Quizzes are pass/fail, the only thing that brought my grade way down. Made us figure out how to do 4 projects on excel at the end of the semester when no one had had any excel experience. If you put in the time youll do fine
Very hard class because of 10 minute timed quizzes everyday. Don't take any math classes with this teacher cause you won't pass the class. Tests are either pass or fail.
From my experience with Bro. Cameron, and most everyone else who's taken any class from him, he's very unclear, unable to answer questions, requires an extraordinary amount of work just to pass the class, and his final exam (for a 200 level class) was the most unclear and terribly structured test I've every taken.
Inpatient, and unwilling to help students.
worst teacher i have ever had. . pass/fail classes. crude instructions. unwilling to compromise. claims justice but does not understand it. fyi you are not god do not claim justice.
I took Calc from him and overall I had a really good experience. From the beginning he was extremely clear what the expectations were and how you should study to pass the course. He was extremely helpful whenever I saw him during his office hours. The nature of the class is rigorous but he goes the extra mile to help you succeed.
I had him for Calculus. Very clear and to the point. He kept class enjoyable while still covering the material. expectations were definitely established. daily quizes are VERY tough, but he taught in a way that i understood very well. Very willing to help you during his office hours!
bad teacher dont take his class. Doesnt really help if asked. He doesnt really explain what to do. Dont take a class from him
Do NOT take this class. That is all I will say.
Love Brother Cameron! It is a bit of a hard class if you don't put in the effort, but he is VERY entertaining to listen to.
One of the worst classes i have ever taken. NOT helpful at all, I got a good grade but dreaded the class. I got the comment several times..."its all in your head, you think you know what you are doing... but you really don't"
Brother Cameron! Oh goodness! As a teacher I hated him! I mean outside of the classroom, I'm sure he's a good guy. But as a teacher avoid him at all costs. He's not a very good teacher. He pretty much makes sure that you learn the material on your own, through the book. I think only one person got an A in the entire class.
Even though it was his first semester teaching this class, I thought he did quite well. He made himself available if we needed help with anything. After getting past the teaching to us, he allowed us to do problems on the board to see if we understood correctly. If we didn't he helped us to understand where we went wrong.
He's really funny, and even though I don't like math, he made it interesting. There's a bit of work involved: reading the section and take a quiz on it prior to the lesson on it, but it really helps you understand. Most of the homework is online and takes no time to do.
He never really helped the class and always told us to just look it up or that it should be in our notes. His test are a joke. He repeatedly would tell us that we didn't need to know certain things but then on the test you would have no idea what was going on because you really did need to know those things. No mercy.
He was a good professor. Taught well and gave good examples. I enjoyed this class and I don't even like math! A lot of people say they don't like him but I did. He seemed great to me!
He isn't a bad professor, but he most definitely wasn't my favorite professor. He was a nice man that had good lessons, but anytime you went to him for help, he just says that you need to build "schema" Then, he tells you when you will and will not need to know things...sometimes it's accurate, sometimes it's not.
I really loved this teacher and his teaching methods.
Great professor, I understood more in this class than I have ever. Strict in attendance and office hours, but funny and good class.
He was not helpful whatsoever. When you asked for help he would tell you to read your book and build your own schema. I wouldn't recommend asking questions because he gets mad and asks why you don't listen when he says it the first time! If you can avoid getting him, DO IT!
Brother Cameron is a good man and a fair teacher. His tests are hard and there is very little class involvement. Only take his class if you are willing to put the time and effort in.
Not a very good teacher. If possible do not take him. He does not explain things well. His tests are hard He talks about how students give him bad evaluations all the time.
Loved this class! Before I took it I was not very interested in Math at all, and scared for it but it turned out much better than anticipated! He explains things very well, and I enjoyed his style of teaching. I would recommend.
Brother Cameron is wonderful. I was worried when I saw his ratings at the start of the semester but he is fantastic! He is willing to help students whenever, he is patient and reviews everything you will need. I would definitely recommend him! Take his class, you will see what I mean :)
Good teacher. Willing to answer any questions. Explanations are usually clear, easily clarified with a question if needed. Requires some learning outside of class, welcome to college!
Im not saying this out of malice or animosity towards Bro Cameron.. he could definitely improve his personality. He seems angry all the time. The only grade you get is based off the exams, and he sometimes likes to make them tricky. He gives great partial credit though. I just wish he inspired more rather than put down.
I fairly enjoyed Bro. Cameron's classes. He's very knowledgeable and he cares for his students and is very patient with them. His homework assignments are pretty easy, but when it came to the projects and tests, most everyone fails them. If you're naturally good at math, you'll do fine. If not, don't do it!
Brother Cameron does a good job at explaining, but if you don't understand and ask a question, he almost looks at you like "duh" or "this is obvious, why are you asking?" even though he will say he doesn't mean it. Makes a lot of mistakes while explaining, making it hard to follow.
His projects seem to be the weight of his grades. But they are considered take-home exams so you can't work with anyone else. If you ask him for help, he's not very helpful. His projects are beyond difficult because he gives little to no explanation. I would avoid him if you take Math for the Real World and take it from someone else.
Very though to get an A. Only grade in the book is test grades. His examples during class are confusing and he skips most steps and "lets you figure them out by yourself." No group work or learning from one another. One good thing is that he does give partial credit on test for missed answers. But i recommend another teacher.
I heard he is a good math 215 teacher, but he is by far the worst teacher I've had at this university. He couldn't handle questions or corrections in a more immature way. He doesn't understand the material well, and that's why I think he gets mad quickly. He makes 3-4 mistakes on each process that he teaches so you are screwed for the test.
Do not take a class from Bro Cameron! Tests are the only grade so you work your butt off just to get maybe a B. He made me forever hate statistics.
Very unclear. I wondered if he understood the material himself. Very rude person to be in contact with. I honestly don't know how he has an overall rating of 2.8 on here. I learned nothing from him. AVOID HIM! If you do take a class from him, remember that I'm telling you "You will regret taking a class from him!"
Would not take him again even if I get paid. He is rude when student ask questions. He only grades from the test, and test are hard. He makes mistakes on test grades, if you are taking him double chek them.
Bro. Cameron is a great teacher. He is very good and giving great previews and explanations to what the big picture is and how it all will apply and is detailed in his descriptions and is organized on how he teaches to do problems that seem difficult. He expects you to work. Its college
He's grades are based on tests and several of the test problems are from the homework.
He does prepare you for Calculus, so if he says it's important, it is. He doesn't grade HW, but you still need to do it to learn the material. Usually you are only graded on 5 tests and that's it. Grading scale on the tests are easy on you so it's not as bad as you think. He's really funny and knows his stuff. I've taken him for other classes.
Homework is typically time consuming. Fridays are homework day where he will review and answer question we have on that week's homework.
The way he talks and does his lectures make him seem like the subject he is talking about is very complex when it's not. I could not understand anything he said so i went on khan academy. Would not suggest his class.
I took Math 215 from Brother Cameron, and he gave pretty clear explanations of the material. He gives you homework to do that isn't graded, and the only thing that goes to your grade is your tests. So if you have problems with tests, you might have a hard time. He doesn't want you to waste his time with "stupid" questions. Pretty tough class.
His class was stressful. I really couldn't follow his reasoning, and your grade is the average of you test scores. He requires you to attend, although you get no grade help from attending class.
Brother Cameron is a great teacher because he has a clear vision of where he wants to take the class. He has clear instructions and steps to solving problems and understanding the concepts. He doesn't grade homework and tests are the only grades but if you do the homework and do your part, the tests are easy.
Brother Cameron is a phenomenal teacher. If you aren't entirely motivated he may not be a good choice, he assigns homework, but there are no grades for it. So you will have to know for yourself if you understand. He has "homework" days just for questions. There are 7 tests as the only grades in this class. I will be taking him again.
Decent class, but frustrating due to style. If we are expected to take an exam with no notes, the teacher should be able to teach the class without notes. And very rude toward the students. I heard someone say, I want to ask a question but i'm afraid...
Yes, some aspects of his teaching style are different, but I learned a lot. He really enjoys statistics and math in general which may make it difficult for students who take it because they have to to understand his style. But overall, 330 wasn't too difficult and He did a good job covering the material and simplifying a tough subject. recommendabl
AVOID if your an A student. Got a C+ in his class but an A in 215. He only has 5 grades, 4 tests and the final. Getting an A in the class is next to impossible. His lectures are good, but its hard to keep notes and pay attention at the same time. DOES NOT REVIEW TESTS IN CLASS. No test corrections. Doesn't help students REALLY learn, just teaches.
If you are a good test taker this class is for you. Your grade is based on 6 tests. I loved it. It is a 5 credit class so you have to work hard to learn all the material. He has great lectures and likes to crack jokes. He cares about the students and will make time to meet you out of class. Difficult class but great professor!
He makes his students that ask questions about any of the content on the board sound stupid. With multi variable calculus he cannot explain any of the content other than what is on his notes (which are occasionally wrong as well). Only the test decides your grade. I only learned the material from hours in the math lab. He doesn't help in his office
Loved him as a person, but not so much as a teacher. if you don't like being humiliated in class, don't ask questions. Only grades tests, nothing else. Don't take if you're a bad test taker like me.
I really enjoyed Engineering Statistics with him, he really is smart and knows his stuff. The only problem is that the only grades he has all semester are the 6 tests. So if you bomb a test, your grade will be hard to pull up. You have to attend every class to fully understand the lectures. Make sure to do the practice hw even though its not graded
Brother Cameron's class has 7 grades and each one is a test. He offers homework days to help students understand the material and has clear expectations for his students. He says that cookies without nuts will "help improve his mood" while grading, but I recommend chocolate milk and donuts.
Great Professor. He is very straight forward with what you need to do. He is very blunt though. If you are a person that needs a lot of reassurance he's probably not the best teacher for you. If you want to learn the material and not be babied, he's the teacher for you. There were 6 tests that are easy and thats your entire grade.
Took for Multi-variable Calculus, class and curriculum was extremely straight forward and to the point. Did not teach out of the textbook once in class, provided custom notes created by the teacher for each lecture. Class time was spent learning the lesson, and then doing practice problems. Grading was simple, the average of 6 exams.
Definitely take if you're at least a decent test taker. He takes time to make sure that his students understand everything, and he really cares about his students! If you keep up with everything and study just a little bit every day, you will do well.
Great professor, he makes it easy to understand the material by building each lesson off of the previous one. Has a clear schedule. Will take time in class to answer your questions. Grade is based off of tests only, which I really like, but if you are a bad test taker it will probably make this class a little more frustrating.
Brother Cameron is a real gem. Definitely my favorite teacher on campus. He is fun and witty and makes every class just awesome. I would recommend sitting in the front so he can get to know you more. Honestly, I wouldn't consider myself good and math and I'm in the math lab almost every day for it. But once you understand the class it's easy!
Brother Cameron does not go into conceptual detail when he teaches. You get notes to use about how to solve problems procedurally, but they are so ambiguous, they're next to useless. Your entire grade depends on tests. He teaches a concept once, from then on he puts problems on the board to solve, but never works through them again. DON'T TAKE HIM.
Greg Cameron is really good at explaining, giving relevant examples, and teaching the material. All homework is done on my math lab and was not worth marks, but it was really helpful in preparing for the tests. Grades are 100% based on tests, and attendance is required. Questions were encouraged and there were days set aside for questions.
Write down all the problems he gives you in class and on his review days and make sure you can do those problems. If you do that you'll ace all his exams. His homework from online doesn't match up with whats taught in class, but it also isn't tested on, so don't worry about it. He teaches you everything you need to know to ace his exams.
Bro. Cameron is one of my favorite professors on campus. He is very clear in his lectures, if you did not understand something he will explain it again in a different way until you understand. All the grade is on tests, but you still need to do the HW if you want to pass. Really recommended!
He is very rude and arrogant, nobody is as smart as him! Only grades on tests, but have to do homework to even understand it. His lectures are very fast and its hard to take notes and understand whats going on. If you ask questions he makes you look dumb or tells you to just not worry about it and just trust him. DO NOT TAKE CLASSES FROM HIM!
Bro Cameron is often misunderstood. He can be a little direct at times, but he does not intend to be rude to anybody. He does not like it when people ask dumb questions because they are not prepared, as he emphasizes the importance of personal study. No homework is graded, but if you want to pass you still have to do it to practice for the test.
Brother Cameron is not boring, his lectures on not him droning on about math. He knows how to teach and keeps the class at a great pace. I was saved by his ideology pertaining to homework. Homework is provided but not required, you are held accountable. Brother Cameron also provides student notes for his lectures. (PreCalculus)
Lectures are clear and concise. Ask neighbors questions BEFORE you ask him. He doesn't hate you, but is blunt. Demonstrates concept, shows examples (more helpful than HW), lets you work on example; gives answer but no solution. Take with friends or make friends quick. Makes mistakes on whiteboard. Gives daily printed notes. Graded only on tests.
I was afraid to take Calc II from him because I knew that his grades were based only on the tests, but it was actually really great! He is a good teacher and teaches exactly what he expects from you. If you attend the class, pay attention, and still do the homework, even though it doesn't count towards your grade, you should pass.
Avoid online classes from him. His lectures are good. He doesn't give you enough time to do the tests. He takes the average time people took historically and thinks you're cheating if you take any longer. Considering how averages work, that screws 50% of students. A lot of students have told him that they cant finish in time, he didn't care.
He's a good guy but he won't give you nearly enough time to take the tests. There's only 6 tests and each question is worth more than 1% of your final grade. You could understand the content just fine and still do poorly since every test there's high stakes, you're super rushed, and you don't have time to check your work. Take anyone else instead.
His explanations are clear and easy to understand. He wants to help his students but you need to help yourself first--with that I mean if you are not doing your part don't expect him to do anything for you, but if you are putting effort he will be happy to help you. My biggest issue in this class was that every single hw had a few wrong answers.
Good at explaining concepts. The homework is not graded, but I highly suggest doing it. It is frustrating though because I've had to point out errors in the homework answers multiple times. I would recommend him though. Stay on top of things and care about the class.
Professor Cameron knows the material well, but he only grades tests and attendance. The homework is optional but very much recommended! Attendance is very important to him. 5 Exams! Get ready.
Unless youre a test wizard, dont bother. He generally refuses to cover topics more than once which is hardly fair considering his very basic examples. Your grade consists of 6 exams and if your attendance falls below 90% I believe, you risk failing. He often rushed through his lectures and ending class early for the sake of his own lifes agenda.
Brother Cameron is the best professor I have ever had! He runs things at a quick pace, but explains things simply and clearly. Homework is provided, but not required. He has high expectations for the students, and isn't afraid to let you know if he thinks you're slacking. He is very efficient and knows how to teach.
His student notes help a lot if you are a STEM student needing to review concepts. He doesn't waste your time with homework and busywork. Just be ready to work and spend time studying the material he gives you and you will do just fine.
Brother Cameron's multivariable calculus class is difficult if you are not a self-driven student. The only grades are exams and attendance. This was good for me, but I can see it is difficult for others. He responds to emails and will answer all questions in class. Student notes are available for every lecture and are useful for homework.
Professor Cameron does a GREAT job, especially teaching MATH 215. The only things he grades are exams, and his exam questions are exactly like his student notes and homework questions. He teaches what you need to know, no more, no less. If I could I would go back and take all my math classes from him. He's super kind and always willing to help.
I feel like what would be an advantage for this class will be to hav note cards during the exam. It is exactly what we see in class but there are so many formulas to remember that it makes it harder to remember how to do it
Prof. Cameron's math class is challenging but rewarding. His exam-focused teaching style and available student notes make for effective prep. I found Unstuckstudy to be a handy tool alongside the class materials.
Brother Cameron is awesome! The efficiency of this course is incredible! If you have the chance to take any math class with him, please do! He really knows what he is doing and works hard.
Professor Cameron is an exceptional educator. His premade and well-organized notes allow students to prioritize practice over notetaking. Always approachable and enthusiastic, he readily assists those who seek help. Kind yet direct, he ensures success for diligent students, offering unwavering support to all who engage.
His teaching style is centered around BYU-I Learning Model, so it's taught simply, with awareness of the majors, and mindful of personal growth. He's taken a ton of the load off of you, but you'll have to be accountable for yourself. Read and do the problems before class and do the homework even though you're not graded on it, and you'll excel.
I'm worried the way this man teaches is for his benefit, not the students. The material is good, but the depth of explanation is disappointingly shallow. Teaches to take tests and follow formulas, not actual math. Quite uninvested in his students and the true purpose of learning. If he spent more time on concepts & questions, it'd make this class.
He skips a lot of logic. This was a stumbling block for me. He often doesn't adequately answer my questions about the math. He teaches formulas, and skips some of the math. I wish he'd go through the logic. Often corrects his notes in class, and asks us to "just accept that it works". Occasionally makes jokes at students' expense, demeaning them.
No homework was kind of cool but it also means that almost your entire grade comes from exams. Very lecture heavy. He really only gets to know a few students and isn't the most personable. A bit brusque or offputting at times.
I don't recommend this professor because he makes you memorize all the formulas, doesn't give you anything in the exam not even a notecard, I don't know what else to tell you, from my perspective this is one of the worth math teacher I took in my life, I wish I could take somebody better because honestly I failed is class, this not a joke.
He will roast you if you ask a question that he deems as stupid, he also goes too fast so you'll have a lot of questions.
