Easily one of the best, if not the best professor for IS 223. He was very flexible and always willing to help students outside of class. Each lecture is very concise and doesn't waste your time but covers everything for the exam. Only professor in SMG so far that focuses so much attention on helping students figure out their future career plans
He really cares!
He really does care and goes out of his way to teach students. His utmost priority is to actually teach and is very lenient if you make an effort.
Greg is awesome. One of the best Professors I've had here at BU.
My fav :)
Great and caring professor. Goes beyond the class with helping you with your career, LinkedIn connections and recommendations for internships, study abroad and jobs.
Take his section, he goes way beyond to help students both in and out of class. He cares. He is the best.
extremly boring class and weird quizzes. usually reading off the slides and most content are lame. he gives high grades for presentations though
Greg is the best
Very concerned with students learning the material. Held office hours on a Sunday before the midterm. Graded the midterm quickly and with a curve. He offers internships to students regardless of your grade. Takes the time to help you.
Who do you know comes in on a Sunday to help students prepare for the final? He is so about students and success with the material. Take him. You will learn and have a few laughs.
Awesome. Knowledgeable. Cares about students. Holds extra office hours and does internships. The best.
What a great person. Provides feedback, help and assistance. You cannot go wrong taking him. The best.
Take DeFronzo. He prepares you well for the exams and the working world. If you care about your grade, and make an effort to come to class prepared and talk to him if you struggle, he will help you succeed. Also a great resource for networking/internships if you go to his office hours. A little nervous sometimes, but a great and funny guy.
He cares. He is funny and very knowledgable. He works with you and does weekend office hours for exams. Very fair. I learned a lot. Great person. Good professor.
My best all around professor. Takes the time to get to know you and offers opportunities for internships. He makes you laugh. He helps you with the material. There were students in other sections which showed up for his midterm and final reviews, he is about learning. Thanks!
Very clear about grading. Very fair. Gives real life examples and does extra help sessions. Offers internships and advice. Funny and sweet.
Helps you lots. Grades fair. Helped me. Nice.
He is there for you both during class and afterwards never says no. No bs. He is all about helping us.
He is fair. Explains things and gives lots of real life examples. gives extra credit to help with grades. Class is actually fun. He works with you.
Got my midterm back this week. He is fair. Assigns extra credit to boost grades. I like his class. He is very helpful and clearly cares. Help me think how to apply the class stuff to my internship interview. Got it!
Provides real life examples. Read the book. It is helpful on quizzes and exams. He curves all tests. Lectures are interesting and he wants you to participate. Extra credit helps with this too. Very nice.
Do the readings and participate in class. Extra credit softens exam scores. Classes are fun and interesting. He knows IT and helps you.
He is a good teacher. Makes the readings make sense. Book is required. Very fair on homework and gives extra credit. Does quizzes for practice. Funny. Caring

He works with us and helps to understand the course. I learned lots. I did extra credit which helped my participation grade. He is fair and around for you. Read the book. Go to class it helps and is fun sometimes. I would take him again.
Lectures are lectures but he makes the material interesting. He really is good. He cares about students and will help you. Exams are hard but he curves. The book is needed. Do the homework and extra credit. It helps. I want to take more of his classes.
Great professor. Really helps you with the material. He is a very fair grader and gives extra credit to help with participation and exam scores. Go to class, he makes it interesting. He really cares and will help with recommendations.
One of a kind. Helps you with the class stuff and with interviews, recommendations and internships. Material was ok during class but I realize now it is important. Helped me land an internship. Curves grades, participation counts and extra credit really helps. He is really good.
Hands down one of the best professors I've had at BU. The lectures are engaging and tied into real world applications. I realized the importance of IS in business, especially going forward. Helps with career advice and internships if you ask. Overall a great professor and mentor.
He's the best
A great professor. Cares about students and helps us. Always willing to meet and provide help. Fair grader.
Excellent professor. I hated Computer stuff at the start but liked it at the end. Makes It intesting with lots of real life examples and takes the time to explain things. Provides lots of meeting times and actually responds to your emails! Extra credit balances the hard exams. Provides LinkedIn connections and help. Seems to love what he does.
Great professor, take his class. He really cares about his students and goes out of his way to help. Tons of extra credit. Only complaints are some HW we had to learn on our own and he kept changing the grading criteria with all the extra credit. Don't need all the reading, some and pay attention in class. Study for tests and do extra credit.
Take him! He knows the subject and the industry. He is fair and provides lots of feedback. Don't hesitate to ask for help or additional meeting times. He even came in on a Sunday to help the class. Participation and extra credit help lots! He is willing to give recommendations and help with networking. A gem.
I was in his Spring 2015 class and he continues to meet with me and help with job recommendations. He is about students I learned a lot in the class and lucky to have had him. Take him if you can.
He is a great professor and really cares about students. Participation counts. Extra credit counts. He will spend the time to help you understand the stuff and your offers to assist with internships and study abroad. So nice. He is the best.
Amazing professor who really goes above and beyond when it comes to caring for his students. Even students outside of his class respect him based on the way he carries himself and reaches out. Does everything he can to keep the class relevant and is very clear with his lectures and discussions.
He is the one to take. He really cares. You learn lots and he helps you outside of class. Do the extra credit. He is a fair grader. He is funny too makes the class enjoyable.
A great one to take. He cares both in the classroom and out. Fair. Passionate about his class and the information. He is approacable and will help with internships and job coaching.
His independent study helped me land a job!! Always willing to help. His office is like a train station with students. He cares!!!!!
He is great and will help!
Prof. Defronzo is the best professor I have had at Questrom. I never really thought I would like IS as much as I did. His classes were really interesting and he was very funny. I would recommend 100%
Take him. Do the extra credit. He cares and is very fair. Adds humor to a dry subject.
So I got a B on his class, not the best student but true to his word he helped me with a recommendation for study abroad. I did not waive my rights, I read it, and honestly he really picked up my strengths. Thank you. Take him. He is the real deal
Want to build your resume, take him. Want to build your LinkedIn, take him. Want to learn the material, take home. He has experience. He adjusts based on student feedback. He is a good and what he does and he really cares!!
Take him. He is amazing. Helps you with the stuff and helps you build your resume.
A nice man who cares. Helps you both in class and after. Helps you with recommendations and job searches. Loves the material. Check out his office hours. Always busy. Always willing to help. Makes the material clear by giving lots of examples. Take him. You will be pleased.
No bs. He cares. He is funny, interesting and fair. He helps you way beyond most faculty. He is committed to helping you. Take him. No regrets.
Professor Defronzo is phenomenal. Throughout my life, I have met countless professors, but he clearly stands out as one that truly thinks for the students. He is also good at motivating people and giving feedback in an extremely respectful manner. He is hilarious. You literally find students ready with potato chips and cookies to start the class.
Absolutely amazing professor who cares about his students, is super accessible, and loves to help. Tons of extra credit opportunities, no grade deflation (but no inflation), and super fair grading. He also is willing to give his most committed students job opportunities.
Professor Greg loves what he does and it shows. He is really good. Offers lots of help, extra credit and is always willing to meet. He helps with internships, job connections and study abroad. I love his class, I learn and have a few laughs.
Professor D is so great. He helps everyone. Love him. Goes beyond class to help with internships and recommendations for lots.
Professor is good. Likes helping. Grades very fair. Do extra credit.
He is very unusual. He cares no BS. Loves teaching. He is approachable, his office hours are packed but will meet you otherwise. He helps with recommendations and Linkin connections. He is unique. Ask around. Students love him. Oh, and the ducks, Halirous
Take him. Lots of real life experiences and makes it intesting. He is well liked by students. Funny. He really helps you learn. Loves the topics and you begin to. Extra credit yes. Meet with you, yes. Recommendations, yes. Resume building, yes. Grades very fair
Love him. I hated the course to start but changed my mind. So useful. He is practical, cares about us and does extra credit which helps us. His course site is so good - wish all professors where the same. His office hours are busy but he makes the time if you need him. His Nikes are fresh.
He is the man. I loved attending his class. He delivers so I delivered. How many professors do you know who stay late and come in on a Sunday before the final? Other than Professor Greg - 0. One of a kind. Extra credit helped me land an internship. Thank you!!! Oh, the nikes
Dope bro. Very nice, casual, helpful. Was doubtful at first because he was so nice. No one is that nice at his age, so. Anyways, take his course.
He helps you learn the material. Some of which can be boring but he adds humor. He also does extra credit which adds certifications. He is so nice and willing to meet. One of the best. He helps after the course with recommendations.
He is simply the best and inspires you to be the best. Very fair grader. Extra credit is a boost but it helped me get an internship. His office hours are crazy but he makes time for you and actually replies to emails. He did an extra final exam review on a Sunday. So helpful. Take him!!!
I hate computers but loved his class. Funny and helpful. He really cares about students and grades very fair. Take him if you can. A Questrom great.
Exams are hard but he is very fair. Otherwise outstanding. Do the extra credit. Go to the lectures, he knows his stuff and rally helps you. Office hours are crazy full but he stays until your questions are done.
Helpful. Friendly. Knows the material and is fair
Love him and how he helps students!
He is the man. I enjoyed coming to class. He is passionate. Loves teaching and helping students. His LinkedIn Network is awesome. His extra credit helped me get an internship. Take him you wont be disappointed.
Take him if you can. One of the most popular faculty. Ok, the subject isnt my interest but he makes it interesting and helps you a lot. He also is great about networking and connecting you. I am thankful he pushed me. My resume is stronger because of him. His office is like a train station. Students line up for his help.
I wasnt the best in his class but I tried. He tells you he will help you and he does. I needed advice after his class for a job and he met with me several times. I got a job offer today!! He was so helpful. Take him. He cares.
The professor is awesome! He loves the subject matter. He truly cares and helps a lot with the course and networking. A gem.
He has lots of energy and experience and makes the material interesting. Answers emails. Willing to meet and help even with internships. He is very fair with grades. I learned a lot. Wish more were like him.
I got sick and missed classes. I couldnt make his office hours. He came in on Sundays and worked with me. Helped with other classes to. It saved my semester. I am very thankful.
Defronzo is a great professor who happens to teach a subject that is very dry. A little quirky, but will always make time to help his students. The class is no joke because the exams are extremely challenging and it is super easy to fall behind on the material.
Best professor ever. Cares about all his students and pushes everyone to do their best. Encourages you to see him for networking and goes out of his way to meet with, talk with, and help all students. He's awkward and funny and his classes are always fun and relaxed. He's also quick with emails and does a lot for Questrom.
He is the man. Knows the material and weirdly loves it. I learned so much and he helped me so much. Always willing to meet. Always willing to help with class stuff and networking. Makes a dry class kind of fun. I actually enjoyed going to class. So fair with grading. Wants you to do well. I am a proud owner of a rubber duck too.
He helps you learn and improve your grade. His lectures are fun. He responds, meets with students and comes in on Saturday and Sunday if needed. A true gem. Thank you Questrom. I love him.
Hardest course so far. I worked hard. Lectures are helpful and makes it intersesting. Outside of class he is willing to help. Respects all students. I wish more were like him. Take him!
He is outstanding. Helps everyone. He cares. Do the extra credit, helps wirh the grade but adds lots to the CV. Very interesting.
I hated the material at first but ended up loving it. He cares. He listens to students and adapts the lectures. He responds to emails and helps build your resume. He is outstanding.
The dude is the best. No bs. He actually wants students to learn, goes overboard to help. He loves the stuff and you begin to love it too. Helps beyond the class with study abroad and internships. Take him. He is real.
A required course. Lots of stuff to learn but he makes it fun and interesting. He also helps outside of class. Get your moneys worth and take him. He is the best.
He has passion for the material and is so fair. He helped me a lot with the material since I had no background. I did ok. But he helped me land an internship. I cannot thank him enough. He is a gem.
Professor DeFronzo definitely cares about his students. He tries to teach what is in the best interest of the students. However, his lecture do not exactly reflect exam or quiz material which makes exam material super hard. Great guy and professor, just a really tough class
I freeze with computers but had to take this required class. I am happy that I took him. He makes the book come to life with examples and demonstrations. He is so good and tries to make it fun. He will meet with you very late if needed. I did ok but use the material now. He is right, a bit of IS223 stuff helps you.
He is amazing. His Qtools site is so automated. Fitting for the subject. Very clear about grading and assignments. He is willing to meet to help with both class stuff and internships. Pushes you to do your best and you want to. The extra credit helped me land an internship. He has wit and humor and really cares.
Professor DeFronzo is so amazing. I actually hated the material when taking it but 1 year later it became so important for job searches. He met with me several times after the course ended to help. No Shi#. He says ask and he will help. He does. Take him. He is fair, approachable and just nice.
Professor DeFronzo really is the best. Lots of experience. Is down to earth and helps a lot. Lectures are solid and he pushes you do to your best. Very clear on grades and how he grades.
He is a great professor, concerned and super accommodating !
The final was brutal but he grades beyond fair. Do the extra credit and read the book. Attend his special Sunday review before the final. It helps. He helps beyond the classroom. Awesome.
He is an amazing professor that truly cares about his students. He gives out a lot of extra credit so even if you don't do well you can boost your points in participation and exam by going to labs and completing some certificates. One of the best profs I've had at QST!
Defronzo is truly standup guy. He's more than willing to help you in and out of the classroom, makes himself very available (so many office hours before exams, even on weekends), and truly wants his students to succeed. Content is hard, but he makes it digestible. He's amazing. Take him.
I took the class this past spring. I am so glad it was with him. The class was very hard for me but he met with me both during office hours and at additional times. So helpful. He is very fair at grading and provides lots of opportunities to build your resume and improve your grade. He is the best.
I have never had a professor like him. He requests ongoing feedback and provides lots of examples to help you understand. His grading is fair and clear. He answers emails and is willing to meet even after office hours. The material at first seems hard but it is so helpful in my internship. I asked for help after the semester ended and he does.
Professor Defronzo comes to class with energy and excitement. He loves the material and helps you learn it. Very fair grader. Very approachable. He stays beyond office hours if you need him. Helps beyond the class with helping with internships and jobs. Take him.
So I didnt do great in his class but 1 year later he is helping me with internships. He is true to his word. He helps. Now I wish I did better. He is genuine.
Great professor!
Check out his Qtools site. Very organized and very transparency. He is engaging and very fair. Very approachable and willing to meet beyond office hours. I think he is the best!!
I LOVEEEEEEEE DEFRONZOOOOO, THE BESTTTT
He loves the material and really helps you learn it. And it has been d useful after the course. He is always willing to meet and help. He is the best. Take him.
Worked hard but he is so helpful. The stuff really helped me land an internship. He is the best. Take him.
Professor D is really good. His Qtools site is amazing and you know where you are at all times. He is willing to meet and I attended his Sunday course review before the final. It helped!!! He tries to make the stuff interesting and I enjoy going to his class. I wasnt the best but he helped me. Take him.
It is a mandatory class but worthwhile. Professor Greg is very clear and open about grades - you know where you are at all times. He makes the material interesting and answers emails and meets when you are free. Study the book. Attend class. And do the extra credit.
I hated the class but loved him. I am not into IS but he made it ok . He helped me out during office hours and the extra credit makes my resume better. He truly cares. He is a nice man with lots of experience. Take him.
Love him.
Greg is one strange individual, but you will end up loving him. He has a very interesting sense of humor which makes class very enjoyable. He truly wants all his students to succeed and will meet with you as often as you want outside of class to help in any way he can. I highly recommend him, you truly will not regret taking him for is223
All, take him. He loves course content. So fair and so useful. Helps you. And after the class, helps you even more with his LinkedIn connections. Love him.
What a semester going remote. I thought I would tune out but no, I actually like attending his classes. He kept us engaged, was flexible and understanding and tried new things. Like the other reviews, he helped us learn the material and build our resume. He really loves the material and is so fair with grading and willing to help. He is great!
He is a one of a kind professor who really cares deeply about his students. He is knows his stuff, understands the balance between academia and professional experience, and has a cult following among students. Not to forget that his office hours pay off both to get to know him as the great person he is and for the duck collection obviously
So being international and remote, he is so helpful. Does emails quickly and willing to meet off times. Very fair with grading.
Professor Defronzo really cares for each of his students and makes sure that they understand course content but also feel comfortable to participate. He uses current events and lots of examples to make you feel comfortable with the topics. I would highly recommend his class regardless of if you want to concentrate in IS.
He is a great professor and flexible for the students, but he gives way lower curving for the exam than the other professor. If you are good at information systems, you should take it. If you just want to get a good grade in this course, dont take it.
What a guy. One of the coolest, chillest, and funniest professors. Not one class went by where I didn't laugh. He's also very caring and offers lots of extra credit. Always willing to provide opportunities with career building and help with improving your resume. He's also very reachable and responds to emails right away. Awesome guy, take him.
During this crazy time, he would meet with me during co hours for me. Held office hours late on Wednesdays so from China, I felt connected. He really cares. He helps build your resume. He is outstanding. Take him.
He is amazing. Helps build your resume with concrete skills while helping you with the fundamentals and concepts. He answers texts, emails and holds office hours to help. He balances exams with homework grades. Very fair. Very approachable. Offers to assist after class with LinkedIn networking.
It's hard for a professor to take every student into account, but professor DeFronzo is the man who did it. Whenever you have a question on the subject or anything else, he is always ready to help. A++ professor!
So I did very poorly on the midterm but worked with him during office hours in my time zone. Very gracious with meeting me and other students not in Boston at our time. Thank you. A professor who cares!! Take him.
Professor Greg truly cares and helps. At first I thought not for me with the course but he explains the stuff clearly. You work hard but he grades fairly. I actually eventually enjoyed class and he helped build my skills. He is always willing to meet. He since of humor is on. I am now a concentrator. I see the value. Thank you.
Professor DeFronzo is by far the best professor I've had at BU thus far. He is almost always available and truly cares about every student and their learning. He is also the funniest professor I've had. He offers a ton of extra credit. You have to work hard in this course, but with his help, it is very doable. He is a MUST take!
I took him this past Spring 21. I so happy I did. Yes, he worked my b off but was more than fair with grades. It helped me land an internship and upon starting it I was way ahead of others. Thank you! Take him. He gets how to build your resume with real skills.
Professor D has a wealth of knowledge, LinkedIn connections he helps you with, funny, pushes you to excel and so willing to meet. He invited past students to join the class and discuss their careers. He asks for feedback after every class and grades quickly. He loves Nikes! Fair and approachable. Love him!! He is outstanding.
So, he builds your resume, is always willing to help and yes the exams are tough. I think the exams are the same for all sections but he is beyond fair. Take him regardless of your concentration, you will learn and be happy. Just talk in class. He likes participation.
Genuinely learned almost nothing after going to every lecture. The terms start too difficult and the tests aren't curved that much. I would recommend choosing a different professor to take IS with because even if you do poorly on the exams the curves are higher. I studied hard but my grades were not reflected which was disappointing.
I was pleased with how much I learned and can use for future internships and job interviews. Very fair and willing to help. A must.
DeFronzo goes above and beyond to make sure that students succeed both in his class and career-wise, and is extremely accessible (answers emails quickly, extra office hours, LinkedIn connections). He's also generous on extra credit and midterm+project grading. Lectures weren't my thing and exams were tough but I learned a lot! Highly recommend.
I took him in 2014 graduated in 2016 and needed a graduate school reference just recently. Said yes quickly and what a memory regarding my work. I thought I did well and do use the stuff taught but his recap of my performance and my team project was incredible. What a great teacher and person. Take him. A gem.
So I took the class because it was required. Took his class because of friends. I am not an IS concentrator and was afraid of the content. Not now. But after class, his willingness to help me network is so good. And I learned some great skills and information! He is so energetic and so students. Take him.
He is for real. A gem. Regardless of concentration, builds your knowledge and resume. His LinkedIn connections are awesome and helped me prepare for interviews. Take him.
Top 3 prof at Questrom, GOATed for sure. Defronzo is caring, knowledgable and always ready to help a student out. This class overall is difficult, but there are lots of opportunities for extra credits. Great lecturer, make sure you read in advance otherwise you won't understand a word.
Professor Defronzo is a great professor at Questrom. His classes are easy to understand as he teaches directly to the exam. I was scared about IS223 because of what others said, but if you do your work and go to class, it's very manageable. He really cares about his students too. Make sure you read the textbook before exams.
Best Professor in the entire world. Period.
Best. Helps both in and outside of class. Very knowledgeable. Willing to meet about the class and internships and jobs. Very caring.
