New teacher. Transferred from U.C. Davis. I really liked the guy. Always spent time to help the students. Highly Recommended for intro to psych.
he's okay, a bit boring but okay...study for his test cause they're important...and do your best in the papers, their important...
pretty nice guy, uses slideshows for lecture and it can be boring at times. 2 exams+final with 3 papers, the class seems easy but exams are not as easy, so study for it! papers are easy!
This class was really easy. I missed more days than I came and still have a solid A (96%). He is very helpful, as he will spend a whole class on one easy concept that a few dumb people cant understand. He is a really nice guy and I hope to take him again.
We've got a paper to turn in No presentation He looks hard but he's not He's the one who wrote the book so be careful
The class material is boring, but i think he does his best to make it interesting and easy. He is an easy instructor. I got an easy A.
Tries hard to teach the material clearly but can be boring due to the monotony of the lectures. Lots of reading is required to do well on tests. A challenging course overall.
Really good teacher, but i think i would have liked the class better if i was more into the topic. really should go to class to hear the lectures it helps for the exams. pretty flexible about things and really knows the topic. its really cute when he talks about his kids! he's a great teacher i reccomend him!!!

Good professor but the lectures can be really boring. He's REALLY nice and a really easy grader. Going to class really helps on the exams. I never read the textbook material but I did really good on the exams. There are three essays, they're pretty easy, but the things he expects from your writing isn't clear, so that can be frustrating.
Easy class and easy grader. I actually found the lectures quite interesting even though I had no prior interest in psychology. I never read the textbook and got an A+ in the class. Just show up to class and take notes. I just copied everything he had on his lecture slides. There are 3 papers, none of which are that difficult.
He's pretty good. It's a really basic class (general psychology) so it's boring no matter the teacher. But Dr Feist is friendly and somewhat interesting. All of his lectures are based off slides which are available online. So it's pretty easy. Lots of studying for midterms though.
Attendence is not mandatory. Class lecture is important because most of the questions on the exams are from the class lecture. It's not hard. Dr. Feist posts all class lecture slides online, and he also provides study guides for the exams. As long as you understand the materials, you will do fine.
Nice teacher, when you do his writing assignment make sure you are clear, and grammar free, address all the question, and you will get an A in the paper.
Great guy. Very friendly and a pleasure to hear lecture. fantastic power points that stick right to the text. i would recommend him to everybody taking his personality class.
Has a good sense of humor and you always should attend the lecture classes because not everything online is there on the test.
He promised that he is willing to regrade my paper, but he never followed through. He is a liar.
He's great! His lectures are very clear, and he does his best to make them interesting and understandable. He provides study guides, puts lectures online, and very approachable! He's also pretty tech savvy. Highly recommend him for psych 1 classes.
knows the subject well (its his book. Very nice and wants his students to pass his class. he is funny but his lectures are long and boring. if you dont attend the lectures, read the book thoroughly and on blackboard watch the video links he puts on his slides. He also answers emails very well.
Large class seminars, everything you need is on the blackboard site, including lecture slides, exam study guides, and grades. No need to take notes in class since it is all online. Do your research hours, they are mandatory to pass the class. Exams are all multiple choice, use the book and lecture slides to answer the study guide and you will be fi
What do you get when you cross the epitome of incredible, and the undoubted prowess as a psychology teacher? The answer is: Professor Greg Danger Feist! Did you know that he personally knows Sigmund Freud? Well, you shouldn't because he didn't, BUT! with his knowledge about the man, he might as well have! TAKE THE CLASS!
Feist is a really nice guy but his class was harder than I expected. There are 3 exams and 2 papers. His exams are difficult; you have to study for them. His class seems easy but his tests aren't. Half of the class doesn't show up for lecture so attendance isn't mandatory. His lectures don't really help you. I recommend this class
Dr. Feist is crazy knowledgable! He knows everything about everything related to the brain; it's insane! There are 2 midterms and 1 final. The exams are really hart; you really have to study! There are also 2 writing assignments, but they're super easy. You learn a lot, and lectures are interesting. He's really nice, too. I definitely recommend him
He's a really nice professor and seriously knows his stuff. But because he wrote the book himself he chooses the details that you would never acknowledge for his tests. but all in all i did learn a lot. Buy the study guide. Use McGraw-Hill's Connect as much as possible it will really help.READ THE BOOK!!!!!!!
Very helpful. Go to class, take good notes and study from them and you'll do fine in his class!
I never really paid attention but I still passed. He provides good study guides for the tests. I always made flash cards and studied for a few minutes. Make sure you do good on the homework and the two papers. Really nice guy.
Really smart guy. The class can be a bit boring (not his fault). There are 3 tests, 2 essays and ridiculously easy homework. Tests are mostly from slides that you can get online. Try to attend lectures. Funny, nice guy. Its easy to do well if you study. STUDY lol.
He's a pretty chill guy and knows his stuff. His lectures are pretty basic and you can get them online. Hw is all online and easy and counts only 10 or 12/14 that are assigned (rest is EC) Two writing assignments and 3 exams that are about 100 pts each. Make sure you read the text and review key terms for the tests. He also provides a SG for tests
He wrote the book and uses it for all his 3 tests. only 2 papers that are not difficult just follow his guidelines. All his classes were powerpoints that he posts on D2L so going to class is not mandatory but sometime he wont post entire slides online so you should go. He's not an exciting professor but i would recommend him
his really nice and tries to make his lectures intertaining. the homework is really easy as well as the essays. he provides studyguides for his midterms but not everything is on there so you have to study all the key concepts. overall easy class, but can get boring
He's a good teacher, but I recommend you sit near the front so you actually get noticed and ask questions. It's an easy A if you do 11/14 of the homework assignments, study for the tests, and write good papers(and re-write one of them if you screw up). You don't need to show up everyday, all the powerpoints are online and he has clear study guides.
Extremely helpful.Powerpoint lectures are online to download and take to class to add your own notes.Only have to do 10/14 hw 11th is extra credit. Two papers and one rewrite. As long as you study the chapters and lecture notes you can get an A. Tests are easy if you study. Go to lecture. He mentions things that will be on the test not in notes.
Huge class so don't expect a lot of individual help, not that you'll need it. Lectures are straight forward and clear, not mandatory if you read the book and PPTs. Tests are somewhat hard if you don't study but there's a lot of extra credit. I got B's on the tests but still ended up with an A+ in the class thanks to the assignments and EC.
This class is really easy. I have only gone to it to take the exams. The online component is really helpful and doing the study guides before the exam is why I have a good grade. Definitely recommend!
Feist is a decent professor. Very knowledgeable in the field he is professional in, but he tends to go on tangents easily. Because of these tangents he doesn't seem to highlight or emphasize anything that seems to be of importance. You may walk out of class on certain days without having highlighted or written anything down. Got an 89% in the class
Easy A. The online stuff is actualyl very helpful. I didn't go to his lectures. I just studied online with his website and it was very helpful. I didn't go to class for a whole month and still got an A on the midterm. Lots of memorization but the material is very interesting.
Great class. I'd recommend attending lectures, however they are not mandatory. If you're trying to obtain an A, just read the book and make sure you understand what's actually going on. The online LearnSmart stuff really helps a lot with studying.
Just read the book, memorize vocab, and go to class and it will be easy A. He curves the final grade a bit. I had 92% but he bumped to an A.
He is a really nice guy with knowledge. Not a completely easy class, but study the textbook and take note in class will give you a good grade
His lectures are boring. Weekly homework online is pretty easy. He offers extra credit. Tests are a bit hard. The 2 papers were pretty easy as well. Overall not a bad teachers.
Only homework and quizzes required, but very easy. Essays are graded fairly, and exams are easy if you follow his study guides. I actually found his lectures to be pretty interesting. He explains a lot of real life examples, and tries to incorporate his students in his lectures. Really chill guy, I wouldn't mind taking this class again.
Professor Feist is really knowledgeable about his area of expertise and is there to answer questions if a student is confused about something. However, his direction on how class assignments are designed is very confusing, he is a tough grader, and doesn't give notice on what he's expecting from a student, therefore grading really harsh.
Very knowledgeable professor and even uses his own book for the curriculum. Only downside is that it is mandatory to purchase the homework materials and integrated eBook for homework assignments ($110). His lectures cover what the online homework assignments expect you to know, so I was able to get an A- even though I ditched half the time.
Semester long group project. 3 exams, a paper, and a presentation. The format of the class was helpful, since we did most sections of our paper ahead of time. When it came time to submit our final paper, we just had to compile it all together! Gave good feedback most of the time, but some was a little confusing at times.
Unnecessarily tough grader. Tells you one thing, and grades you on another. Says he gives clear feedback, but he really doesn't. The only way he would be "easy" is if he is teaching PSYC 1, but have him for a lab, and it's near impossible to get an A. Is definitely a control freak, to put it lightly. He should consider retaking a 120 class.
something that stressed me out so much was how unorganized the grading system seemed to be. he updated all the grades in the last 2 days, so there were many mistakes that we had to email him bout :( for a GE class, this was fairly difficult, esp. since he didn't grade papers easily and exams were difficult. i hope he'd change things a bit :
Great professor, do your work and the homework which is not bad and you will pass the test and pass the class. He's a great professor and actually cares about his students! Great class I got a A+
Lectures notes make up the majority of his tests (2 midterms, 1 final). Plus he gives you a study guide on what may be on the exams. Overall a pretty easy class as long as you do the work. 1 assignment per week and an easy report after each midterm. High B's on all exams but did all my assignments and got an A.
Dr. Feist's lectures a very interesting even if you're not interested in psychology. His powerpoints are straight to the point, though it's important to write down the key facts he mentions. Grading is straight forward. You learn a lot from his lectures and it's great to know he wrote his textbooks so he knows what he's talking about.
He gives extra credit so take advantage of those because if you do not read, or don't pay attention to his lectures and do the online homework (yes all 3) you will struggle on the tests. I got all A's on homework and failed test and managed a C+ in the class because of extra credit and papers. Boring class.
TAKE THIS CLASS! I had him last semester and barely went to class because lectures are boring. Honestly, all you really need is the book and watch your email and read the syllabus. He communicates very well through email, do the online homework, and pay attention to when the test are and you're good. I only went to class on test days & got a B+
His lectures are BORING because he talks the entire time, but if you show up and take notes you won't have to read as much of the book. Make sure you keep up with the ONLINE HOMEWORK, which can require extra reading especially on things he didn't cover, but it's worth it for the tests. The essays were really easy just follow the guideline.
Really interesting class. The class is huge but he tries to help you out if you need help. Remember to keep up with the ONLINE homework. The tests are tough though. But if you work hard and follow his instruction, you will pass. Also, take notes in class because part of the tests is covered by what he says during lectures.
Hes very helpful. Probably one of the top psychology professors at SJSU. His lectures are clear. He will answer questions with helpful solutions. His exams are based on both lecture and reading just study daily. Also hes a funny professor where makes the class environment feel confident.
There are study guides for every midterm (there are 3) and the final. Everything-- the lectures, homework, quizzes, and tests-- are really straightforward. One HW & quiz (online) assigned weekly and very manageable. Really enjoyable class if you're willing to learn about it. Stay on top of due dates, and you're set.
His lectures are straight from the textbook, but it's a good reinforcement to get thorough understanding. He uses Learnsmart so you have online assignments due every week and it's graded for completion. The class itself can be boring but the material is interesting, just do the hw. He always gives out study guides for midterms and final.
Dr. Feist is incredibly knowledgable and is more than willing to help students who have questions or are seeking a deeper understanding of the material. He is organized and there is overlap between the text and his lecture slides. Tests are generally straightforward but require a more integrated understanding of theories.
Professor Feist's class was definitely the most clear-cut class I've taken so far. It's a GE course so there were 2 short papers (2-3pages) and quite a bit of online homework, due every week. With the homework (30-40 questions), there was a quiz (12 questions). Tests were hard yet with lots of study time, you'll pass. Tests are multiple choice.
Professor Feist was a great teacher. Everything he taught was interesting and not boring. His assignments were very clear and gives good feedback. Tests are tough though!
Doesn't know how to teach. Tells us in the beginning of the school year that he is going to "teach us how to learn" and it's been 4 weeks and we haven't learned a single thing about actual psychology. I feel like we are taking a biology class more than psychology. Tests and assignments are unorganized and he doesn't know what he's doing.
I really enjoyed having Professor Feist. He was very clear on what his grading criteria was. There's a quiz every week online as well as online homework every week. His tests aren't hard, but his study guides are long. The second he sends it out start studying it. The research project is kind of tough. You must be proactive about it.
Dr. Feist is a great professor! I've had him twice so far. Currently taking PSYC 117, very straightforward class, nothing too crazy or difficult. There definitely isn't much statistics to solve compared to STAT 115, just one EASY stats hw assignment. 3 midterms, 1 final, & easy/fun personality project.
Feist is a great professor! His assignments are all based on the lectures and readings so go to class! The class is actually interesting if you're into psych. His papers aren't hard either, just hit all the points. He's also an easy grader.
Greg is a great professor! Yes you need to buy his book, reading and mini quizes due every week online. Every point counts in his class. Little extra credit offered. 3 term papers only & they are easy.
pretty easy and straightforward class. tests are mostly based on what he talk about during the lecture and he gives study guides for midterms and finals which really help. his lectures are pretty interesting and he's an approachable person. 2 papers are super easy. he pretty much tells you exactly how to get a passing grade on them.
Feist is very knowledgable and attempts to make his lectures interesting. I did find that his addition of the online book was unnecessary. It became almost a hybrid class because his lectures were mandatory since his exams were heavily lecture based, but still had to complete assignments online every week. I studied quite a bit, but nothing crazy.
Technically didn't have to go to any of the lectures; technically could've passed by just doing hw (half the class did that and only came for midterms/finals), but his lectures are really interesting and not boring at all. He knows what he's talking about. Super clear essay criteria. Straightforward tests. Wish all my prof were like him.
This class is just average. Nothing special. Nothing horrible. However; every week we have to do SmartBook quizzes; one with 50 questions and one with 12. These quizzes are very time consuming and I hated them. Other than that, he's pretty good.
GREGORY FEIST IN THE BUILDING! Professor Feist is super cool and definitely knows his stuff. His classes are lecture-heavy but all of them are on interesting topics, so its easy to pay attention. The exams are very straightforward and as long as you do the homework and actually read the textbook, you're good. He's helpful and cares for his students
My only problem with this class is that the textbook for the class is only viewable through a web browser. I typically dont have problems with online textbooks, but since I cant ctrl+f to search for a term or even copy a sentence from the textbook makes it so frustrating to work with. Learning activities take way to long. Tests are also super hard.
He takes forever to get through one slide and talks a lot about his personal life. Lectures are boring but you don't really have a choice to go. His tests are pretty difficult especially if you're not good with memorizing terms.
Class is an easy A if you do the online hw and review the study guide a day before the test. Grade is based on an aggregate of points gained from 3 tests, 2 papers, and online hw. Only problem I had was his paper grading scale is 50% rubric following and 50% "style". So basically half the paper grade is if his grad students like your "style".
He was actually a really good professor and his lectures helped a lot. I didnt go to every single class and still got an A. Tests are super easy and straightfoward. 2 papers that are pretty easy too, but he has aids that grade so make sure you follow all the directions specifically. Doesnt post slides of lectures online.
Surprised with all the good reviews. I like this class/teacher and am getting an A in it currently, but it's pretty hard for a GE course. The reading and homework takes forever. If you want to focus on your major courses there are likely easier classes you can take for the D1 GE. First exam class average was a 72. 10/169 got an A.
In this class you will do a lot of homework (15 chapters with quizzes at the end), but its a psychology class so it makes sense why there's a lot of work. 2 papers and 2 exams and 2 hours of research participation. Also you can find all the answers to his online quizzes all over online.
Although participation is not required, he explains further about topics that aren't in the slides & will be testing you on them. The book required is an online textbook which will be automatically given to you (you will pay for this later on). His lectures are easy to listen to. He's a really funny guy! You can ask him about anything outside class
While his lectures can get a bit boring, he overall was a good professor. Weekly quizzes, two midterms, and a paper. Paying attention and reading the book will definitely get you an A. (I wish I had done this myself)
Of you take intro to psych online its an easy A, if you dont pay attention you can still pass but his class is genuinely interesting- book is expensive but he wrote it an knows what hes talking about
His test was very hard, i did not expected it to be so bad. I did most of the quiz questions, it was genuinely tough and those who didn’t pay attention in lecturers definitely failed cuz many started leaving after 10-20 mins. I don’t know how people are getting A but very very few students got that. I was crying on my way back from midterm.
easy straightforward class, if you miss a day of class its all in the smartbook
Very straightforward course with weekly smartbook assignments and quizzes. The midterms and final are based on both lectures and the text. He uses a point-based grading system so make sure not to miss any assignments and to study for the exams! Over pretty chill class.
His lectures are super fun and engaging. He makes connections from the lecture slides to daily life which makes the lecture easier to comprehend. You shouldn't only rely on the lecture slides posted on Canvas but the lecture slides in class because its updated. Everything is easy from there if you attend the lectures and read the chapters.
Loved Professor Feist! From the beginning of the semester, he is very open and honest about the class, its content, what he expects, and what you can expect. His lectures are super thorough and informative, and he adds a lot of extra info throughout, so while attendance isn't mandatory, you may miss out on small bits of info. Also, read the txtbk!
Favorite prof! Go to lectures, do homework, and study, you can do well. Not an easy A but he is extremely fair and accommodating. Curved exams, extra credit, paper rewrites. Exams are exactly what you expect from the study guide. Would recommend getting Quizlet premium to study, and get research hours done ASAP! Cool subject + amazing professor.
He is a good teacher but the exams are pretty tough, tbh just read the textbooks on every chapter and you will be good. He is pretty easy tho
Dont take this class unless you want to stress over every single grade its literally impossible to get a good grade on the test. theres three. dont even try on the final lol
Utilize the app he mentioned at the beginning of the semester to study for exams! His lectures are a bit boring due to his tone of voice & yes the exams are hard. I received a C on every test and A's on all the quizzes and managed to get a B+. Also do your research hours ASAP, dont wait last minute
Honestly, he is a great Prof. overall, I will say that the lectures aren't the most engaging and most people stay for TopHats but he is very nice and easy to talk to, your grade will heavily really on how u do on tests and the 2 papers but there are some extra credit opportunities so take advantage of that.
The class is easy but the lectures are so boring. He speaks monotone and just reads off the slides. I recommend downloading the app he mentions for studying and making note cards for each test. He is a bit rude but don't take it personally
Take another professor for intro to psychology, the test was hard I failed all three I was lucky enough to pass with a C+, lecture is boring.
I really enjoyed taking his class but it does take studying and paying attention! Go to his lectures and pay attention!!! Also if your struggling his office hours are REALLY helpful, hes rlly nice dw. Youd only fail if you didnt pay attention and didnt gaf! hes rlly sweet tho dw
Homework every week. Online textbook. 2 exams + final (hard without studying). 1 easy paper. 4 hrs of research studies (he explains them). Lecture slide are online, clicker attendance, not mandatory but encourage. Good teaching
