I've had Forbes for three courses, purposely. I couldn't get enough of his enthusiasum for teaching. He makes class fun. But don't expect his class to be easy, it's definitely challenging.

He's the best that there is, he know what he's teaching. His attitude occasionaly comes off as anti - christian, but he's very logical about it. Students who get upset about evolutions should not take his class.

I've had him for just about every class he teaches, and I think he is way too easy. If you can't pass a Forbes class, either you don't show up, you never study, or you'll NEVER understand anything in science.

Dr. Forbes is a great teacher and easy to follow along with, but his tests are the hardest i have ever taken. If you don't answer the question word for word like he wanted it, he marks it wrong, even if it means the same thing. i felt like I was in a 400 level course and I was only in biology.

Dr. Forbes is the funniest teacher I've encountered at CC. His lectures are fun and you learn a lot. His exams, however, are very tough and requires a lot of outside time to get an A in the class. He is not impossible by any means, but active participation in class definetely helps.

My first thought telecourse class no way, but professor Forbes made me a believer, take the time and do the lessons and assignments and you will pass with flying colors. He's always willing to help.

I had him for the bi122 and i liked him a lot. he mad the class interesting and didn't talk in a mono toned voice. his tests reflected his study guides well also. I highly recommend getting him for lecture (i didn't have him for lab)

Forbes is one of the most helpful teachers I've had, he actually lets you know what you need to know for the test. It's a hard class but Forbes makes learning all the information easier for the students by making things fun and relative to you.

Organized, fair, and funny - one of my favorite instructors. Covers a lot of material, but you know exactly what is fair game for the tests. If Forbes can't get you excited about science maybe you should try for that English Lit. degree instead....

My favorite prof, hands down. One review says that he blew them off during office hours, but for me that was so not the case; extraordinarily helpful, funny, and while his classes ARE difficult he makes you really want to learn. Easy to take notes from, tells you exactly what to expect.

Dr. Forbes is by far one of my favorite profs! He takes true interest in his students and cares about their success. He is always entertaining, and I learned SO much from him. Only about the best prof ever! I hated lab, but this guy made it fun enough that I could pay attention and get good grades. He's funny and he brings great energy to the classroom. He does expect you to work hard though. He makes the information relevant to the real world. Go out of your way to get him as your lab prof, he doesn't disappoint.

I had him for lec and he was awesome. this is not an easy class but he made it so much fun and told great stories. I could listen to him forever, the man is great. He gives good review sheets too.

Reguardless of who the professor is this is a tough course and time consuming. However Forbes makes it a thrill. Great analogies, gross stories, and always willing to help until you understand something. This was defiantly the funnest class I have ever taken!

I love Dr. Greg Forbes! He is the best professor I have ever had in my life. He held my attention and I learned so much. Let’s not confuse confidence w/conceit-huge difference. He’s the reason I changed my major to Bio & he’s happy to share his knowledge and give aid. And I loved his “circus acts!”

Exceptional professor. I had him over a year ago and his course has helped me in several others since then. His lectures are packed with the info. that is most important w/ none of the fluff. Most anyone can get an A if the time and extra effort are put into studying all that is in the study guide. There isn't a better prof. that exists out there!

Ok so this guy likes himself, look at his bio. on his website. I'd like myself too! I have had Dr. Forbes or 121 & 122 lab/lec. He is an amazing person/prof. One of the best there is out there. Honestly NEVER a boring moment in his class. He was always there for me when I need to talk to him. Take him you won't regret it!

Interesting, lively, and well organized. No surprises as to what you need to know for the tests. Excellent notes given to study from. Know the notes for lecture and memorize the anatomical features for lab and you are assured a good grade. I loved having Dr. Forbes for A&P. Wouldn't have wanted another--wish I had had him for 121. He was interesting, hyper, but moves extremely fast. Tends to jump around and not take much time to answer questions before moving on to a new topic. You need to know material on your own because he doesn't cover it in class. He can also be intimidating when you need help. A smart guy but unless you can learn on your own, dont take him!!!!

There was never a boring or dull moment. He's very random, and keeps your mind engaged. Goes off into random stories, but always about A&P, so you have another association with the subject. He and I would playfully fight about cats. He's willing to teach if you're willing to learn.

Great teacher, lectures are crystal clear and very interesting. I would recommend you study and memorize the notes for both lecture and lab and you should do fine. I mainly used the book just for clarity. This is a tough class and if you fall behind you'll suffer.

I had him for Bio 121 and I really enjoyed him! He was funny and I was never bored in class! His tests- all multiple choice -can be tricky and tough, so you have to study if you want to pass. I could have received a better grade if I would have spent more time studying....but I am taking him for Bio 122!

Had a telecourse class and it wasn't that bad. Read the syllibus and do exactly what he says and you'll do fine.

I have him for BI 121 lec and lab. He is a GREAT teacher, the content is hard but that's bio for you. Everything on his MUTIPLE CHOICE Lec tests are right from the lecture outline. For lab just study exactly what the guide says and the powerpoint picture test will be fine.Makes class fun, always a laugh or two.I hope to take 122 with him next fall

My best advice for receiving A's on his tests- mutiple choice and one essay- is that you memorize every single lecture page that you have- don't fill out the study guide or even make a bunch of flashcards. I did all of that and got C's and B's- I switched my technique and got an A! But study study study- he is a good prof!

Ugh. Well. He was interesting. He tells funny stories. He's a nice guy. But other than that... eh. He goes off on random political tangents about his views and spouts off all these 'facts' about why his way is the best way. Very arrogant. Very ADD. But an interesting proff.

He is a great professor. He is full of enthusiasm and keeps the entire class involved. I had to work hard in this class to get a B but I am very glad I took his class. A very intelligent guy who relates the subject to the students in a way that is interesting.

He is an extremely wonderful and helpful person, full of energy and enthusiasm. His knowledge related to the subject was extremely wonderful and was giving us real life examples and that impressed me the most about his teaching. If get another chance would definitely want to get trained under him.You need work real hard to achieve good grades.

Dr. Forbes is the best professor I have ever had. He is demanding but if you work at it you can get an A. The only thing better than his sense of humor is his knowledge of the subject. He was a great teacher for camping and canoeing class, and made the weekend enjoyable. Although he was a bit unsympathetic, and did not respond to emails nicely, more arrogant.

Camping and canoeing are his passions and he makes it interesting. 4 days for the wellness class (test, swim test, trip) and you are done. if you have a tight schedule, this is the best wellness course.

Great Teacher! Keeps you awake, Forbes is very outgoing and uses good real life examples for a better understanding. Only complaint is the textbook. It says Holes was required but you can use another anatomy book and highly suggest it, one w/ more visual representations for lab.

He is very engergetic and really knows the topic. Has very good examples that are intersting. The only down side of the course is the information has a large volume for lecture and lab exams.

I had Forbes for 122 and I must say that he is one of the most interesting professors I have ever had. You must show up to class and study A LOT to do well on his tests. but he makes it worth while. He is very knowledgeable.

Very knowledgeable, intelligent professor (he has a PhD). You will learn a lot. His workload is pretty average, not too much, but not an easy A either. Best advice I can give: you MUST use his study guides to pass. There's info on the guides that is not in the book. Follow the study guide exactly and you will do well on exams.

BI 121 anatomy and physiology is a difficult class. Dr. Forbes creates very difficult tests, you will have to work hard, but you will learn. No free rides, you earn your grade. I highly recommend Dr Forbes, his management of lab time was phenomenal.

I had Dr. Forbes for lab and he is clearly very passionate and knowledgeable about the subject, which is great. Class was never boring. He was very clear with what exactly could be on each lab exam, so there were no surprises. If you did need help he was always there. By far one of my favorite teachers and I would definitely take his class again.

Dr Forbes is the best college professor I've ever had in my life.

This 7 week online class is very straight forward, but the tests are unbelievably hard. The questions are very specific out of the book, but nonetheless, they are all multiple choice. Almost 2 years through college, this is the only class I had trouble even passing. Take him, but with caution

I had Dr. Forbes for lab, and don't regret taking him. At first he seems very strict, but in the end his requirements benefit his students. He expects you to try to memorize everything on the SPOs for each week for a better understanding, and good usage of time in lab. He also provides helpful lab lectures that are required before each lab. :)

Dr. Forbes is a fantastic teacher. He really cares about his students and wants everyone to succeed. He is blunt and makes sure that you know if you don't study and don't come to class, you will fail. A&P is a very difficult class, but Dr. Forbes makes it enjoyable. Dr. Forbes is an incredible professor. I took him for 122 and it was much harder than 121 who I had a different professor for but I think the material is harder. I looked forward to his lectures each week they are so entertaining. Granted, I absolutely love A&P, but I worked for my grade. I made flashcards about every single thing in my notes.

Was one of the few classes I loved going to. Made lectures incredibly hilarious and interesting and he also goes above and beyond what's required, which I personally enjoy. Did fall behind with lecture material so he had to do some online ones, but it wasn't that bad. Class overall for me was quite easy with his lecture note outlines.

Very funny and interesting while teaching however he doesn't come off as a very good person in general if you're doing anything other than agreeing with him or getting an A on a test. A true expert in his field, just try to keep your head down. He'll nail you on attendance or for not being an atheist. Beware the wrath of Gregg-re Furbs, Ph. D.

Entertaining lectures. Loves to help if you need clarification or have a questions. Picks on students in a fun manner and makes the classroom a fun place.

I enjoyed going to his class. He's very approachable if you ask questions. A&P is naturally a hard class, so expect a lot of studying. He makes jokes, and tells stories that keep you interested in long lectures. If you get an A on an exam, he writes something like "good job!" on it - it's actually encouraging.

Dr. Forbes is very knowledgable about material. He has had a lot of experience in the field and will tell more stories than lecture. He is fun and energetic. He expects A's and has no sympathy for struggling with the material.

Dr. Forbes is a really funny guy! At first he comes off very talkative and energetic, but that's just who he is. Some of his jokes/comments were not PC and sometimes his lectures rambled, but he was a really unique guy who gave great lectures, with real world experiences. This professor made me want to keep taking higher and higher level biology classes just so I could attend his lectures (and my degree isn't even related to biology!). He is a fantastic and entertaining teacher who integrates material well into real life situations so they can be understood. Highly recommend.

His test are tough, but all the information you need to know are in the lecture outlines. Also, read the syllabus he has your first assignment at the end of it.

I actually payed attention to his lectures every lecture & learned so much without thinking much of it. He is incredible and knows what he's talking about. But understand this isn't an easy class. Its tough but if you work hard, you'll do fine. Study & UNDERSTAND the notes! That is so crucial. He loves when asked questions so ask when you need it!!

He is tough but fair. He gives you everything you need to succeed in the course, you just have to work really hard and study A LOT.

Great professor, but make sure you pay attention and study hard. Tests are difficult, but if you study hard enough you'll be fine. Make sure you ask questions if you're confused on anything, he does tend to go fast sometimes. Only bad thing I have to say is that he does get off topic, and it does tend to get annoying.

Hands down one of the best professors at GRCC. His lectures are fun and something you actually wake up at in the morning and look forward to. He may seem a little strict starting out but he genuinely cares about every student and their success. He is passionate about his field and is a great resource to guide you into the field of Biology. 11/10

I loved this class, Forbes makes the information so easy to understand, and its a ton of info. If you don't study and take the profs advice, you probably wont pass, but it is doable with hard work.

Dr. Forbes is great at what he does. He knows his material like the back of his hand, and he has had a lot of experience in the field of biology. He tends to get political at times intentionally which was annoying but you learn to get past it.

Dr. Forbes is extremely funny and knows how to make lecture interesting with his stories and all around personality. Study from his lecture outlines and if you know them like the back of your hand, you will do great on tests/quizzez. Would definitely take again.

Requires you know material, but gives you everything you need to know. I only studied from his notes and got As on every exam. The book is nice to have as backup, but I think I only used it once. Attendance is mandatory and he starts the class doing pop quizzes everyday, but he stops on about the third class. Made me worry for my health.

Dr. Forbes is a very respected professor at GRCC, and once you meet him, it is obvious why. I dont think I have ever met someone as smart as him. He is clearly very knowledgeable (in anatomy & physiology, as well as many other subjects), and clearly enjoys teaching his students. He makes the material easy and fun to learn. Hes also pretty funny.

This is a tough course and need to take time to study. However he is a good professor, and always explains the knowledge clearly.

Forbes is an amazing lecture teacher. He is full of knowledge and is willing to help his students succeed! Make sure you do the work as there isn't much he asks a student to do but study, take notes, and show up for class.

Wow! Best professor Ive ever had. Forbes makes everything click in your head, and if it doesnt click, he keeps explaining until it does. Constantly cracking jokes that pertain to the material and help you remember it. 100% cares about each individual and will work with you outside of class to help you achieve a good grade. LOVED this class. Lecture was always entertaining and he made learning the material interesting. Dr. Forbes is very approachable, but if you dont try in the class he will call you out. 10/10 would recommend having him as a professor. I can honestly say I will miss A&P with Forbes after this semester.

Dr. Forbes is a fantastic professor. He is definitely my favorite Anatomy and Physiology professor that I've ever had. He is very knowledgeable, makes class interesting, and gives you all the tools you need to succeed. Study the material and his notes and you'll do fine. I Highly Recommend him if you want to actually learn the material.

I love Dr. Forbes! His lectures are fun and he's a great guy. Everyone said that he was a tough teacher before I had him, but I never felt that way because his notes are outlined exactly for the tests. I was never bored in class and he always showed related videos and images. Overall great guy and professor. Would highly recommend taking him.

The best professor I've ever had. He explains class content well. If you have a question he will answer it. It is a class you must attend. I'm never bored during his lectures. The note templates he has set up are wonderful. You just print them off and fill in words as the lecture progresses making it easier to pay attention to the actual content.

Dr. Forbes has been one of the best professors I've taken thus far. I thoroughly enjoyed his class. His examples help a lot and his lectures are pretty funny. You should take his class. Even though his tests are pretty hard, I think its worth it

One of my favorite Professor I've had through out my college career. I actually look forward going to class, he's hilarious. His lectures are awesome, he always relates the lecture material to real life situations. However I didn't like that he had us listen to lectures online because he got behind in the material. overall 10/10 would recommend!!!

Man Dr. Forbes is a riot! Really enjoyed taking his class! Basically if you pay attention in class and study the the exam unit notes for lecture and do the SPOs and watch the pre-lab videos for the lab section, youll end up doing well in the class!

Dr. Forbes is by far one of the funniest professors I've ever had. I am not a morning person and he has me fully captivated at 7:45 in the morning! Theres never a boring class, he truly know how to weave humor and real life experience into class without gettig too off topic. Wish I could have him for all of my classes!

Dr. Forbes has the gift of teaching and will do almost anything to help his students succeed. He is full of clinical stories & visual aids that are so engaging and makes even science-haters look forward to his lectures and lab! He is very tricky on his tests but in lab he's very straightforward. Know the concepts & lists and you'll do just fine!

Would not recommend taking him if you are looking for an easy A. Best way to earn an A is to thoroughly study/know your notes in and out. I did not read the book and got a B on my first two tests. Once I started studying my notes thoroughly, I got As the next two tests. STRICT attendance policy. >4 absences and he can lower you a whole grade.

Dr. Forbes is amazing!! His lectures are incredible and throughou ans something you can remember for use later. Didnt really use the book mostly lecture notes and APR. You can tell he really cares for his students and wants them to pass. I wish Dr. Forbes taught other subjects so I could take him again.

I loved Dr Forbes! He really cares about his students and that they actually LEARN the material. He has such a good knowledge base with lots of life experience and he shares really funny stories. He's engaging and I loved how thorough his notes and information was. I hope I get to take more classes from him in the future!

I wish I wouldve had him sooner so I couldve taken him more. Lectures are amazing and so entertaining, but you need to show up. He walks through everything step by step and makes understanding it so much easier. He is hilarious and genuinely cares about his students. GRCC is lucky to have him.

I enjoyed Forbes class but it was one of the hardest classes I've had. He's the head of the department and is pretty strict. But he uses humor in his lectures and great examples to help you remember. There's no homework, just 4 exams. If you don't study the material each class, you will fail. There's SO much and he doesn't do reviews/extra credit.

He's one of those teachers where you either like him or you don't honestly. He has a ton of notes, but he lays them out pretty nicely. Bit of a tough grader, but the class is more difficult to begin with. Study his notes (especially the pathology ones) and study hard. Lectures are really fun though

Dr. Forbes is an awesome professor. He gives all the resources and tips needed to succeed. Be prepared to study HOURS each week (constant rehearsal of his lecture notes) if you want an A. Tips to get an A includes studying for each quiz or exam a week in advance, and understanding your notes back to back. Essentially - become obsessed with A+P.

He teaches you a new way; it will be invaluable to future healthcare workers. He expects you to eat, sleep, and breathe A&P. If you're taking over 12 credits, including one of his biology classes, consider going part-time in order to truly get everything you need from his classes. He also gives amazing context when explaining difficult topics!

I took this class winter 2023. When I first started, it was hard. I am an all A student and the first test I took I got a C. The biggest advice I can give you is either make a quizlet, WORD FOR WORD on his packets OR look up my quizlet (alexiswestra4) I ended the class with an A. As hard of a teacher he is, I learned a lot from his teaching/ class!

Pros: Thorough lectures on the course content, graded by only 400 or so MC questions on tests/quizzes (yes, that's it), and did a great job at answering questions and making applications pertaining to the lecture content. Cons: Gets political whenever he can, but doesn't explicitly state his positions, and the course material is VERY dense.

Best professor I've had so far! Very knowledgeable, might be a bit tougher than other professors but genuinely wants you to succeed and is helpful if you go to office hours with questions. He makes lectures interesting and has a teaching style that helps me remember and understand the information.
