One of the best teachers that I have ever had. He changed my way of viewing my world and myself. He does not mess around with grading, but is always willing to meet with you and help you in any way he can. Plus he is so fine to look at.

He was able to kindle in me a desire to learn that I did not know that I had. He is the BEST teacher I have had, and changed me and my path. I highly recommend him if you want to learn to use your sociological imagination. It will change your world!

Very good teacher. You will have homework and a lot of it in the 150 class. He makes you work hard and think really hard about the world. If your opinion differs from his he is glad to hear from you and willing to be swayed. If your absent let him know ahead f time and it wont affect your grade. Dont **** him. He hates ****ters.

The CSPMatrix profs, Greg included, prepare extremely hard for this course. I know on account of I would often stay in the classroom to work after class and witnessed their meetings. And you know what? It was very inspiring to me. You'll work very hard if you take this course, but get volumes of true education out of it. And make new friends too.

he is a strict teacher but he is nice. attendence is kind of important cuz even though he doesnt call roll he will still know who is there and who isnt. midterm is hard and final is about group presentation. this teacher is well-organized.

Professor Hinckley is the best professor I've ever had. I had no interest in sociology before i took his class. He has now made me look at the world differently. I recommend his class to anyone. Brilliant. Now regarding the class, its not too tough, but be careful, his 2 tests he has are worth a good portion of your grade.

Took his class nine years ago at SCCC. Shortly afterwards, I took a major hiatus from acadamia. Memories from his class is one of my biggest motivators to get back in to school. Seriously, BEST TEACHER YOU COULD EVER HAVE. Do yourself a favor and take his class.

This class was amazing!! I will never forget what learned!! This professor is one of a kind, he bends over backwards for students and that's hard to find theses day. I was stressed at times in this class with all the reading and responses going on. However, now that it has been a year since I took that class, I can say it is a wonderful experience, where you learn not only from a teacher, but also from the other people in class.

I highly recommend any class from greg!If you're looking to better yourself and gain more knowlege this is the right class for you. There are no test or final. But plenty of interesting reads. This is not an "easy" class so don't take thinking that. Make sure you have the time to dedicate and it will be very rewarding.

I greatly recommend students to take his classes. He will change your attitude towards sociology as well as study. He rewards students who do well in his class. You really learn things in his class. But if you have decided to take his class, you have to be serious and turn in the assignments. He is serious in his teaching.

I took this class just to fill credits. I had no interest in sociology what so ever. I cant even begin to explain how this class has change my perspective on everything. He is a great teacher and his lectures are extremely helpful and interesting.

This is the realist instructor I have ever had. Greg made me love Sociology. He really cares about his students. To get a 4.0 you need to be there everyday, take notes on his lectures and speak in class. This is not a boring class where you just read out of a text book, he shows a lot of modern videos,and keeps you engaged at all times.

He is honestly the best teacher ever .He is really passionate about sociology and you could see it through how he talks and presents himself in the class. He will push your buttons and make you think he is a jerk but in reality he is a nice person. He will respect you if you respect him Take his class if you ever can! You won't regret it!

You're required to do readings, and homework assignments are big, but you're given plenty of time to do them. Easy 4.0 if you show up with your work. Take him, you won't regret it.

Greg is an amazing teacher and guide. He does not force you to think what he thinks but will make you question why it is you think the way you think. He helped me to expand how I understand the world that we live in. I am not going to become a sociologist, but this is one of the best classes that I have taken, and I will use it my whole life.

Such a great teacher and one of the best examples of how community college's are doing something right. Greg expects you to take responsibility for your own education and shows student's how to use a disciplined approach to learning that can cross over to other fields and into the workplace. Taking Sociology with Professor Hinckley changed the way I view the world around me. Sociological imagination is the core concept in this class. Punctuality and regular attendance is necessary as the class revolves around group projects. Great class with a great Professor whose emphasis on punctuality was a gift. Highly recommend.

Greg is such an amazing professor and a really great human being in general. Super friendly and actually remembers his students. I took his class in Fall2015. Make sure you show up for class especially on days group work days(u have to really participate). Very clear grading. Got a 4.0 by doing all the readings, homework, and revision for midterm!

Took this class after having such a great quarter in his SOC100 class. In SOC150, he assigns about 20+pages of readings every week. Homework is usually based on videos or readings(quite straightforward questions). Group work with the same group every 2 weeks. Be ready to participate! Greg really opened my mind. For real the best class I've taken!!!

Greg Hinckley is an amazing teacher. His lectures are realistic and inspirational. He gives students credits based on their effort in class. Lots of writing but they are all helpful to understand the lesson in each chapters. Lots of interesting films to watch. There is also a final project, instead of a final exam. If you really want to understand race, ethnicity, white privilege, and social class then this is the class for you. He is an amazing professor and really cares about your learning. I learned more in this class about America than all my other class combined. He is clear about the assignments and how he grades, if you want to learn take his class

Learned a lot in this class, great lectures. Some things that we're annoying was the textbook, it was very hard to find and it was confusing with 3 different versions. If you're late he will publicly humiliate you in front of the class. Other then these things it was a great class. The material taught can be applied to everyday life, very useful.

One of the best teachers I've ever had. I've never been in a college class where every student was genuinely interested in the subject. He's not afraid to give feedback, but is understanding when you don't comprehend part of the subject. There will be many assignments but they're not difficult to do, and some are actually fun. Really awesome.

One of the most helpful teacher I had in the school. when you show you really want to pass he'll guide you and check to make sure you're OK. You can can see that what he teaches he teaches with a passion and he teaches in a way where you'll understand and learn rather than just give assignment to just answer. Great class, very knowledgeable professor, Hinckley rocks.

Very solid prof. Requirements are crystal clear, textbook was available for free online, the work load was light. It's worth noting, though, that he did require us to attend a protest for higher prof pay (for a grade!). The motion was approved and our tuition was raised to pay for it. Greg's a great prof, but that's cold-blooded.

Hinckley is extremely knowledgeable and you will learn A LOT. With that being said there is quite a workload but if you're putting in effort you should be fine. He's very picky about assignments being exactly how he wants them to be and absences/tardiness is not tolerated at all just a heads up.

Loved this class, he's really get at getting a lot of people engaged. Most online classes are dead quiet when someone asks a question, but in my class people were clamoring to share what they wanted to say. It helps that he makes critical analysis really fun and easy. This class has inspired me to take more sociology classes, definitely take it.

Mr. Hinckley is everything one could ask for in a professor: kind, caring, charismatic, funny, inspiring, and engaging. He provides the most detailed feedback on assignments that I've ever seen. He's lenient on deadlines and is always willing to help students. The readings are long but not too long, and they are very interesting.

you can tell Greg really cares about what he does. his classes arent necessarily "hard", but he does have high expectations that you show that you are truly engaged with the work. the amount of work he puts into his curriculum shows how much he cares about education. participation is really important so he expects perfect attendance.

The things we learn about we connect to current day issues using our own experiences and it 100% makes a difference in understanding the material. Grades extremely fairly, pushes you to strive for better. 10/10 no other notes

Wonderful professor who genuinely cares about his students and wants them to be their best. He is super accommodating and the work is easy if you put in the effort. He is insightful and truly loves what he does!
