Lab 125 is easy to an extent. Beware as the quizzes arent always as they seem to be and can be more challenging. If you want an A then talk to the professor about each lab report as I did. A majority of your grade depends the labs. If you arent good with quizzes do well on labs by getting help by the professor or your TA. Grading depends on TA!

Exams make up 80% of your grade, and when the class exam averages were consistently in the 40s/50s... yikes. Recorded lectures were oftentimes difficult to follow and just generally unhelpful. You get no feedback from an actual person. Homework and exams all graded by a computer. I got an A, but probably also got high blood pressure in the process

I never actually met Prof. Jursich, you usually work with the TA. Multiple tries are given for the lab quizzes. Labs are pretty simple, but lots of calculations.

He wasn't the one teaching the class, it was more of the TA's that was. Even so, you get like 2-3 attempts to take your pre-lab quiz and for the lab, it was easy to understand and do since they gave us an outline. He is very understandable and drops 1 lab report that is the lowest grade. Overall, it was an easy A.

If you learn to do the examples and understand the concepts, the quizzes and exams are quite easy, he gives practice quizzes and exams, and the final was just a combination of the 2 exams with new content. There's a lot of small details. The labs make up 40% of your grade, but so as long as you write a lot, it should help your grade overall.

It feels like the "B-sides" of organic chemistry and general chemistry. You just learn a lot of random things. The material is boring but if you watch the lectures at 2.5x times speed it becomes bearable. The labs were free As but I definitely am missing out on so many lab technical skills since it was online

Took this course over the summer. Although this wasn't the easiest class I took (especially since I struggled with exam 2 concepts in general), it was doable as long as I reviewed recorded lectures, hw, and quizzes. Exams were pretty straight forward. No set curve for the class (grade cutoffs are decided based on class average).

Has absolutely no sympathy for his students. Doesn't explain any problems and fails to set up his students for success. Makes us do iclickers and he grades us on it even AFTER class is supposed to be over. Has no mercy whatsoever for us even though we're still in a pandemic. I hate this class.

I took this class over zoom and he goes over the lecture so fast you are not able to take notes and understand what he is saying at the same time. So you have to spend even more time outside of class to write the notes again and basically you will have to teach yourself most of the material, and he barely gives us enough time for iclickers

He is the best your gonna get for chem122 - unfortunately. You basically have to teach yourself for the entire semester or seek help from the TA. He just presents the material, but he gives exam pointers which are nice. The class is very fast-paced, so you can not fall behind. You must come to class for i-clicker. He is very organized at least.

Do you like success? Do you struggle in chemistry? If you answered yes to either of these questions, Professor Jursich is the way to go! Hands down, greatest professor I've ever had. Extremely caring, and wants to see you succeed. If you put in the work, and are still struggling, you can easily ask him for help and he will guide you. Best professor

I feel that the overall lecture portion wasn't useful. He overcomplicated equations and lectures did not help with exams. I studied the discussion worksheets w/o going to lecture because the lectures were lengthy and not helpful at all. Chemistry at UIC is not helpful at aiding to the students. Jursich is the only half decent professor here.

I'm just regret that I haven't taken the class seriously, so that's why I got B. But trust me, he is a good professor. The exam is actually in the homeworks and discussion worksheets. That's all.

He is a very sweet guy, he however doesn't respond to emails and it makes it harder. TA is the person to rely on.

Here's my advice: - READ THE TEXTBOOK prior to lecture (use class as a way to solidify your understanding since he is not the greatest at explaining concepts) - Do all the discussion worksheets AND re-do connect problems religiously to study for exams!! - Go to TA office hours & solidify concepts during discussion to avoid them piling up

He's ok. The fact that he doesn't annotate the slides makes it difficult to follow along. Like every chem professor, a lot of the lecture problems aren't similar to the exams! Do more exam-like problems in class then people would do better. When my iclickers reset in the middle of the semester, he didn't fix them so I received a low grade for it.

Just like the rest of the chemistry department at UIC, his class isn't much better. If I had the choice of choosing between him and the others, Jursich is definitely the better option because he is a tad bit more lenient in my opinion. Well he retired anyway so it doesn't matter.
