Very easy professor, makes material exceptionally easy to understand. offers good supplemental material in lectures.
Very nice guy and very easy class, he posts his notes and test reveiws online. He is from Polland so he is a bit unclear, but it really is anything to worry about.
He has a heavy accent but nothing to worry about. You can go in class sign in and then leave. As long as you watch a few of his movies during class and go to the test reviews before the test you'll pass with flying colors.
This guy is not super organized, but he lets you know what you need to know. His tests aren't very hard, as long as you study with the study guides. He is a super nice guy and his accent adds to the sillyness of his class. Cool guy.
VERY VERY easy class. If you look at the notes with one eye, you'll pass with flying colors. He lets you know what you need to know, hands out reviews, etc. Simple class, simple teacher.
Professor has an accent but you can understand what he says easily, nice guy. Gives study guides for the tests and posts the lectures online. Easy if you study for the tests.
EASY class.....Good Teacher
The class is really easy, but he is extremely boring. He also takes attendance, but everyone usually just signs the sign-in sheet and leaves.
Great Class, Very nice Guy!
Great Class, Great Guy!
This was not a great class... the prof was soooo absent minded and he was really unclear, he also had an accent and it was really difficult to pay attention to him. The material was ok, kinda dry and his tests werent what he said they would be...
Yea he got an accent but you can understand what he says. He's really nice and funny. The only way to piss him off is 2 leave class before he dismisses you. Yea he one of THOSE!! But really cool and down to earth
easy class, even when he talks to much...but it is an easy A
The guy is boring but it is an easy class. He puts the notes on blackboard n gives out study sheets which is bascally all you need. You can sign the atendence sheet and just leave. You dont even need the textbook in this class.
Very nice man but he will put you to sleep! EXTREMELY BORING
He's an Okay teacher... some days are boring some are interesting. He does have an accent but easy to understaind. You have to pay attention to pass and you have to read some of the book. Also pay attention to the movies he plays they are ALWAYS on the tests. Sit in from or pass with a D.
VERY EASY TEACHER
very boring teacher i just signed in and left every day and ending up passing which is pretty amazing. All you need to do is read the notes / chapter and your fine.
really easyyy... you feel bad because half the class comes just to sign in then leaves... take this class!
Very socialist! He was extremely nice, easy, and strangely funny, but he is terribly close minded to anyone that is not extremely liberal. Note to anyone conservative: he is easy to talk in to a corner, not a strong debater. But he is fun and nice. I jokingly called the class SOCIALIST problems, heh heh.
Awesome teacher and very easy tests especially if u go to class. He makes class pretty interesting with a lot of current videos and tv clips.
great class.. so interesting with all the videos, plus there is a sign in sheet that comes around and you can just sign it and leave if it an uninteresting class that day. test are easy, everything is really interesting and straight forward
BORING BORING BORING !@! OH YES !@! Soooo boring, this is the ultimate boring class ever in the world. U enter the class and see people leaving and others playing games on laptops and cellphones and some people eat lunch in his class (like me) and believe it or not the teacher is still reading wooo. If u try this class u will feel u r wasting time
Easy class. It can be interesting if he shows videos but other than that you can plan for his class to be extremely boring. Good news is that you do not have to stay. Just show up and sign the sign-in sheet and then you can leave. Guarantee that half the class will be doing that by the 3rd week of class.
Class is very boring and he tries to hard at times. Good teacher just lectures in a boring fashion. As long as your read the notes/book and sign in for class, it's a guarantee A.
He deffinitely knows alot of the subject matter but gives boring lectures. I take this class for 3 hours and it's just plain torture. But on the bright side he is a extemely friendly person. Shows videos to break the ice up a little bit.
Not too bad can be boring but is a friendly and easy person to talk to. Tests aren't too bad just look at the study guide he gives you on bb and it will be allright.
This guy is nice but his lectures are extemely boring. He keeps the class for the whole time regardless if he finished covering all of the material or not. Repeats alot of thgings over. Tests are not too difficult atleast not the first one the second is harder.
All in all, he's a very easy teacher. If you read the chapters beforehand and study the notes he posts on blackboard, you'll do great on his exams. His lectures are exacly what his notes are, however he does show alot of short videos that are not in his notes but are always on the test. Good teacher though, who really enjoys Sociology.
This is an easy 'A'. He is really boring, but most of the stuff is common sense. Just do the study guides and you'll pass. I recomend taking his class, but dont expect much.
Greg can be a funny guy. Social Problems was a very interesting class and the tests are really easy if you study. Be sure to go to class because he asks questions on the tests about things he covers ONLY in class (e.g. videos), plus attendance counts!
good teacher, good lectures, easy tests, caring guy
Great Teacher
Great professor! I took him for both, Social Problems and Intro to Sociology. His tests are easy and he adds a few questions that do not apply to the material and are easy in order to boost your test grade more. Overall GREAT! He's also really nice and is willing to help anyone.
I thought this class was fun and very informative.
this guy is pretty boring if you don't want to pay attention... most people do sign in and just leave, but his tests often cover things he does in class such as specific class discussions, statistics given in class, videos, etc... he uses blackboard and powerpoints so studying isnt too bad, especially since he gives study guides!
goes over powepoints or movies in class. puts the powerpoints on the internet. and gives a review for each of the three tests on the internet. for the revies, gives a hint about each individual question. very easy to do well on his tests. nice man. kinda funny. good class.
Obviously.
AMAZING TEACHER, HE CURVED THE TESTS, THE NOTES WERE ONLINE. GO TO CLASS, HES FUNNY AND IS GREAT WITH COMMUNICATING WITH THE STUDENTS.
Easy easy class, very interesting. The only thing is that he is very biased, by that I mean very liberal!
Great guy. Pretty easy class. He gives a study guide a few days before the test that pretty much hints at each question on the test. Study that and you will do well.
Very nice guy. Passionate about what he teaches. Very easy class, you dont have to go and still get an A in the class
GREAT TEACHER! I loved his accent and his jokes. Very interesting material. AWesome teacher, PLEASE TAKE ONE OF HIS CLASSES!
He is a very fun teacher. He lets the students call him Greg. Greg talks a lot on polatics. He is clearly a liberal and could be a green.
He has a funny accent and says "obviously" about 50 times a day, but he is a pretty easy teacher. There was only 3 tests and attendance so if u study for the tests and come to class u will do fine. He plays a lot of videos and uses powerpoint to teach. He gives a study guide before tests which makes it easier. Good teacher overall.
Very kind teacher, gives curves, and really passionate about sociology. As an older student (2nd degree), I sort of feel bad for him how most students leave after they sign in, or talk when he's talking. I couldn't hear "obviously" due to all the rude door slamming of people leaving out the back! Used the book too, along with his ppts.
This guy is AWESOME! Very passionate about what he teaches; intro to sociology was a great class. Gives very specific study guides for the tests, cares about his students, and is a funny guy. If you can take a class with him, DO IT! He's great.
the BEST. sometimes students have no class & leave while he's talkin about somethin important.you must go for attendance, dont worry he does keep you interested.3 exams, multiple choice & he posts a review online-with majority of the ques you need 2 know. bits & pieces may show up from the book, not anything he doesnt say in class anyway-take him!
Great teacher talks about very important stuff that would actually help you later through your life. Knows his material well and shows lots of interesting videos. Tests are long but if you study its not hard to pass them. Very funny guy deserves more respect from his students
Boring, didn't really attend, didnt try too hard. but it can be an easy A if u want it. His study guides are helpful
Such a sweetheart! He takes attendence randomly, so going to class is a good idea. If you do happen to miss a class or test, just bring proof of why you couldn't make it at he'll let you take it with no problem. Tests are not hard and his study guide helps a lot! Lots of fun movies, i enjoyed his class.
He is a great person. However the class was kind of boring. I didnt attend all the time...but he does do random checks to see if you're there. Grades are based on 3 tests and 10% on attendance which is figured out by his random attendance checks.
Loved this guy! Probably the best professor I've had at FAU. Class is easy, I got an A and I didnt attend every class. You have to attend classes though cuz he plays video clips in class thatll he'll ask you about on the test. Not a boring class, he makes it interesting.
THIS IS THE BEST TEACHER I LOVE HIM HES SO FUNNY AND MAKES THE COURSE VERY INTERESTING I WISH THER WAS MORE PROFESSORS LIKE HIM
boring class but the teacher is nice. Dos random attendance and he answeres any questions you may have. Study guides for the tests are very helpful and most of the questions on the tests have information on the study guides. Overall decent class.
Good guy.. should get more respect than he does. Takes attendance randomly by making you sign in. Tests are a bit hard, because subject is so vague and study guides are hard. Posts SOME slides on Blackboard, but specific stats are only available by attending lectures. Very sweet and helpful guy.. not his fault the subject gets boring.
I took him for "social problems." He checks attendance by randomly passing around a sign-in sheet. Powerpoint presentations are posted on bb, but you can only get ALL of the information by coming to class. He shows a lot of videos, so it keeps things interesting. He's very funny and tries to keep students engaged. I thought he was a great teacher.
He's a sweet guy HOWEVER he has a very heavy accent and you cant understand a word he says. There are no microphones in the room so unless you sit in the 1st 2 rows of the room you wont hear anything he has to say. He sporadically uses "obviously" which can get on your nerves and completely distracts from the conversation. NOT an easy A.
The profesor is a very good! he does have an accent but its not something that you cant deal with. He puts all his notes on blackboard so you don't really have to go to class like that but he does take random attendance which counts 10% also the videos shown are intresting and for tests he gives a study guide so you know whats on the test. Good cla
Nice guy. Understanding if you need to make up a test. Definately does random attenedence but its only worth 5 pts for the semester. Tests are difficult. Never used the book in class but the study guide was made from it. boring class but the up side was we got to watch alot of movies and video clips.
Dr. Lukasik is a good guy, he is very helpful and the class might be a little bit long but it is really interesting. As long as you go to class and pay attention the tests will be easy. He also has a good sense of humor, and during class we watched a lot of videoclips and a couple of movies.
If you like to be limited to a teacher who wants to promote his agenda...this class is for you. If you want to think about the material...this is not for you. He is a liberal and he makes that clear. This is not the problem. The problem is he wants everyone to be liberal and only presents the material with that bias. However, he is an easy A.
He is an easy teacher, and very helpful. He does powerpoint, tests are easy if you study the review sheets. No h.w and no projects or papers. Only tests. but take this class!!!
Great professor. He shows a lot of respect towards the students and gets them interested in the social issues around the world. The attendance is checked randomly and notes are very interesting and helpful. I recommend taking his class.
A friendly and insightful professor, but his lecture is somewhat unstructured. He mostly reads off statistics and goes over his PowerPoint slides, which are available from home. The tests are made easier with study guides he has, put up a week or so before an exam. An easy A class.
He is a really nice teacher. If you need help GO to his office hours he wants you to. He really want you to do well in the class. show up and you will be fine. I didnt use the text book because I liked what he had to say more, and I was fine in the class.
Greg is a wonderful teacher and you need to pay attention he has a polish accent which is not a problem at all you understand it pretty well after the first five minutes of class for the tests you have tooo STTTUUUUDDDYYY he gives you a study guide you need to fill out to not fail the tests. Count how many times he says obviously its hilarious
this class was easy BUT you DO HavE tO stuDY. he TAkes rAndom aTTendAnces ANd alL you haVE to DO iS sign IN anD Walk oUT, ANd do The STudy guIde but If You Pay aTTenTion The stuDY GUIDe woN"T tAKE aS LonG liKE It did FOr mE :) but LIke i saID eASy A iF yoU do THE woRK but if YOU dON't do AnyTHINg YOu'Ll haVe to Work foR IT bUT No COMPLaintS
His teachings are very interesting, and the tests aren't too difficult, mostly based off notes and a little out of the book. He plays interesting videos in class and talks about humorous stuff. I would recommend him.
Great teacher. Really nice guy. Learned a lot in this class.
Very easy teacher, go to class, gign in for attendance, plenty of oppurtunities for extra credit which is really not needed. Posts study guides which are correlated to the test. An easy A and a good teacher to take.
A very friendly professor, but the accent can be a little troublesome at times. Very interesting subject material but with a liberal slant. A very easy class if you do his study guides for the tests, attendance is taken randomly with sign in sheets at points during the semester.
Easy class but if you're looking for an even easier class take his wife's class.
Very nice guy. Four semi-challenging tests (do the study guide!) and attendance is taken randomly. Has powerpoints and outlines posted online, and fills in extra info during class. I didn't buy the book and I got an A because I came every day and took notes. He's left-wing but so am I, and I agree with his views. If that thing bothers you, oh well.
the class wasn't really hard or really easy i got a B+ but only because he curved the tests and the final grade a lot, attendance is not mandatory but he does take it occasionally and it does count in ur final grade, a little boring but if you do the study guide online and read the book and study the powerpoint slides you should do at least average
Very friendly guy, and a pretty easy class. Lectures can get EXTREMELY boring at times, but he takes random attendance which counts as a small percentage of the class grade. Alot of the tests are made of statistics. if you answer all/MOST of the questions on his study guides, you should get an A
Very easy class. just follow the study guide and his power point which he post on blackboard. Attend class regularly and you should be fine. He is very liberal but that be a problem even if you aren't. He has some interesting views on major topics that are worthy of attention. Passed with an A. Textbook not necessary at all. He is also very helpful
VERY NICE GUY!!
I absolutely can't stand him. This class was a waste of time, I only went to class to sign my name in, other than that I wasn't ever there. I tried to go everyday in the beginning of the semester, but once I realized he wasn't going to teach me anything, and only give his opinion on politics; I could no longer stand going. DO NOT TAKE HIM!
This class isnt hard but as you only have a few tests, if you bomb one you're screwed. its all memorization and all facts on the tests. if you want to take a social science....dont take social problems. alot of people fail.
He is a very nice guy sometimes he curve the grade on your exams. you only take four exams in his class and he will give you a study guide to use... JUST STUDY THAT!!!...I bought the book and never used it.I advise u go because he take an attendance n its added to your overall grade. The best thing about his class is the videos he show
Nice and easy professor, study the study guides for A's on his tests.
This class is incredibly easy. Everything from the test comes from the powerpoints, so if you study those along with the study guides he posts you should be able to get an A. Lectures are pretty boring, he is obviously passionate about what he teaches but it's hard to pay attention to him. Attendance is mandatory but it's just a sign in sheet.
He's an okay teacher. he tends to go off topic a lot, but the material isn't really boring. he's kind of funny and has a strong accent but it's still understandable. this is a really easy class. tests are really easy multiple choice, no hw he does take attendance most times, and doesn't use the book so don't buy it unless you plan on skipping a lot
Easy class. He is a nice guy but puts opinions on his tests. Study powerpoints and you will be fine.
He is honestly one of the most interesting professors that is very passionate about his teaching material
He's a smart guy, but he seems to hate FAU. Every day he would complain about the University and the classroom. He also spent at least half of the class time talking about his opinions rather than info relevant to the class. At times it seemed like he was just preaching his ideas to us. But his tests are ridiculously easy
Class is very easy, but can get boring at times. Go to every class because he randomly takes attendance. Tests are almost the exact same as the study guide. No need to buy the book.
-_-I DID NOT do well on my 1st exam. Don't by the book, there's like 1 ques. per exam from it. DO THE STUDY GUIDE and ATTEND STUDY SESSIONS! It's honestly the ONLY reason that I have a B. It's a waste of time showing up to class. He takes random attendance. If you have a friend in class, they can sign you in. YOU HAVE TO STUDY TO PASS! Good Luck...
Generally speaking, he is an "ok" teacher. He has a accent so it may be difficult to understand him at times. Attendance is mandatory because he task attendance randomly, (always takes attendance Friday.)He is a nice person with a passion for teaching this class. Open participation and funny comments will keep this class interesting and funny.
He's an all right teacher. He is very passionate about what he's saying, but most of the time I am unsure what ranting about taxes and the government for entire lectures have to do with sociology. Only three tests, and they are not that hard. Study the powerpoints, and attend class once in a while for attendance points.
Easy class just make sure u go to class to take attendance points, and to watch the videos he shows in class. DO the study guide and u will be more than good.
easy make sure u go to class for attendance or ask a friend to sign you in but u have to be in class at times to watch the videos cause it will be on the test.. dnt buy the text book only 1 r 2 questions comes from the book everything is on the powerpoimt so you can basically teach yourself..
Loved Greg so much. Study guides are a huge help, got an A on all his tests. Definitely will be taking more sociology classes with him.
Wow, obviously Dr. Lukasik has good and bad classes--Global Society is not the best class to take with him! I took during a short summer semester and it was unbelievably hard and boring. I'm not a history person and this class has lots of it. I made it to an overall B with him--3 tests, 1 research paper. Class may make you not like sociology.
He is an alright teacher. He tends to stray off topic but if you listen and take notes you will pass the class with no problem! The book beyond 1-2 questions is useless because everything you need to know is either in the lecture or the powerpoint. Although he can be boring, he is passionate about the subject and you can learn something.
Where can I start? Well prior to taking the lukasiks social problems class I was actually really looking forward to the information I would be learning. Little did I know that the class I was taking was actually a death trap run by the liberal crazy that is.. Greg Lukasik. Its like my tv is stuck on the CNN channel and I cant turn it off.
Not a bad class overall. After you sign in you are able to leave, which is nice. I took this course over summer and we watched a few movies. It was a kind of boring class, but I never really studied and still got an A. There were only a few exams and one research paper. Not too bad overall.
He has a thick polisha ccent making it hard to understand him sometimes. He holds the mic too close to his mouth instead of attaching it to his shirt, so he is really loud. Only 3 tests, but that is only grades. He goes off on tangents... alot.
Hard to understand him through his accent and is a total liberal and is totally against all republican beliefs. His mic is way too loud and screams for most of the class. Pretty easy though considering on the test you just look for the most liberal answer and it is always right
Easy class but its funny to watch him complain about FAU like how they have 70 million dollars to buy a stadium but cant buy a dvd player lol. but you can just sign in to class and leave, you dont have to listen to the lecture because everything is on the slides online. only 3 tests and an extra credit research paper. just study the slides.
Dr. Lukasik is extremely patient, kind, funny, and caring. He illustrates main points from the texts with real world examples, and shows interesting documentaries that supplement the material and make sociology easier to understand! The study sessions were very helpful, and if you keep up with the reading you will do fine.
Yes he is very liberal and is a bit biased but he only gives facts. He covers very sensitive material and takes a lot of heat for it, but that doesn't surprise me considering the majority of the student population at FAU are rich kids. Of course they're gonna disagree with the points he brings up about conservative republicans!
This teacher is great he is really funny and i enjoyed going to his class. He actually attempts to make a very boring subject fun. Make sure you show up though because he does grade attedendence.
Great teacher who cares about teaching and is interested in his subject. He was actually pretty funny and played alot of videos. It is super easy to pass if you use his study guide and fill it in over the semester for the exams. I would reccommend him to everyone!
He's the man. Period.
Best teacher ever. He's so nice and very helpful. Gives study guides for tests. Only downside is attendance is mandatory.
Professor Lukasik is very passionate about what he teaches. I walked out of this course with a wider perspective on the critical problems with our society. His tests are easy if you study an hour and basically choose liberal-based answers. He posts study guides and power points online, attendance is part of your grade, overall awesome professor.
His funny! love it
He really is a great teacher, a nice guy and he definitely puts a lot of effort into his class. There are only 3 tests and very minimal extra credit but he gives really good study guides. Just make sure to really study for this class and you will be fine. Attendance is mandatory and he takes of like 1% for every day you are absent. Be sure to go :)
Nicest coolest teacher ever!!! He works as hard as he can to keep the class interesting and to be as clear on the material as possible. Definitely worth taking.
Smart, funny, cool, and easy. Don't buy the textbook, go to class and pay attention, don't bother to take notes, just do the study guide a week or so before the exam (the only grades) and you'll get an A, dog.
Take him if you get the chance, easiest class I have this semester, don't need the book, tests are based off study guides, takes random attendance checks. overall, great professor!
This is the easiest class I have taken in my entire life. We do not use the textbook for tests. The study guide is all we need. We only had three tests the entire semester they were all so easy. I ended up with a 99% in his class. Attendance is random but counts for a part of your grade. He shows cool videos. He tries to be funny and entertaining.
His class was very straightforward and interesting. His only grades were three tests, but he gave a study guide out that covered just about everything. Remembering statistics was a bit important. He also gave out extra credit opportunities. He takes attendance every Friday. I would take his class again!
Everyone says this class is easy yet out of all the people i know that took this class with me, no one got an A.. you literally have to memorize stats, numbers from graphs and random dates from his reviews or powerpoints to get a good grade in his class. There is no point of attending lecture unless he takes attendance. Most people got a C
Very easy, however Greg is an extreme liberal. He WILL go on tangents bashing the republican party and conservative ethic. He WILL talk poorly of Fox News network and most of his sheep students will agree with him. If you engage him in debate about his extreme beliefs he wont uphold his argument he will just revert back to classroom curriculum
How the class is depends on what you take. I took Social Problems and Social Movements and he was totally different in each class. Social problems - very informative and with a lot of energy. Movements was VERY boring and dull. Hard to pay attention. Half of the class falls asleep. Go to class and you'll do fine.
He's hilarious. Try to respond in class cause that's what he likes and it's just awkward if no one says anything. His lectures are pretty interesting. You don't really have to do much to pass just read the textbook. Pretty easy.
He knows his information, but is horrible otherwise. hes all over the board, never consistent, and because he is so confusing I felt he doesn't portray the information correctly and consistently. its hard to know what to know for test, because hes all over the place. He is boring and I would ask for a refund for this class if I could.
One of the most interesting classes I've taken. Prof. Lukasik is a great teacher and makes the class very interesting. If you study the studyguides he posts on blackboard you will get an A. DON'T BUY THE TEXTBOOK OR READER!! He says he will ask questions on the tests about material found in the books but he will only ask 1 or 2. Don't waste your $$
Horrible is the only word I need to describe this professor. I'm an A student that takes proud in my work and this professor was very unorganized and unclear about the material he wanted his class to know for the difficult exams he gave.
Really annoying. I did not enjoy my time in class at all. He is hard to understand and very weird. He tries to get everyone to pay attention when the majority of the class doesn't care. This was an elective for me, and it has completely turned me away from sociology.
Greg is a really smart, caring professor. Puts tons of information in his lectures, you will learn so much! Cracks jokes and is willing to help you if you go to office hours. Shows cool videos. yes you have to put in effort but this is college! I learned a lot and enjoyed the class.
Do the study guides on blackboard, go to class to hear his liberal rant or do a rare in class activity, pick most liberal choice on tests, and get attendance points for showing up then you are guaranteed to do well. No note taking or book needed all notes are pre-posted on blackboard. I don't know why people struggle EASY A for me only 3 exams.
Dr. Lukasik is very boring. He does make his little jokes here and there but for the most part boring. Attendance is 10% of your grade. He is very helpful open to any questions and post his powerpoints online. He also shows a lot of documentaries but they are actually pretty good.
My class wasn't too lively so lecture did get boring at times but I think Professor Lukasik is great! Sociology is really interesting! As for his tests, they were easy A's for me. I didn't need much reviewing. Just come to class and listen to his lectures!
I took environmental sociology with him. He is really passionate about what he's teaching, although some topics can seem a bit boring. Just come to class and pay attention and you will do well. I got a B because my attendance grade was low.
He just rants in class and his lectures are boring. Honestly you could pass the class without showing up but he insists you do with iclickers. Tests were easy. He is probably the worst person to email I have ever met. Takes about a week to answer simple questions. He is pretty annoying too.
His class is pretty easy, you can get a good grade as long as you complete the study guides for the tests. & doing the online assignments helps your grades as well. But, he is extremely boring and puts you to sleep. His lectures feel like forever. So if you have the option take his wife Carreno-Lukasik instead of him. Attendance is mandatory.
He makes the class interesting by showing many videos & movies. If you need help he is easily available & eager to explain whatever you need. The class itself is easy and the final is not cumulative which is great. Attendance is a grade but you can give your iclicker to a friend if you must miss a class. Homework is easy & helps boost grades!
Good professor. His exams are based on the readings in the textbook and topics in class, includes topics that he only talks about and don't appear in his power point presentations. The readings make up for at least 20 percent of your exam. There are a few papers, not long. This is an easy A if you put the work in and read. He may still take attend.
Greg is a good professor, but he can be a tough grader. You really need to be specific with what you post on the Q papers. He posts a study guide for the few exams but make sure you look into detail because his questions can be a little specific, including some important dates. Great class though. I learned a lot.
A little hard to understand sometimes, but you get used to his accent. Lectures are power point based and boring. He often gets side-tracked and at the end of the lecture, tries to cram in information because he realizes he is out of time. Easy material if you study. Test are eh.
Professor Lukasik is a really nice person, but he isn't the best educator. He is very unorganized and he doesn't manage the class time very well. There are 2 tests which are pretty difficult, 5 one page papers which are a breeze, and a research paper due at the end of the semester. But fear not, he's an easy grader and curves the tests!
Great professor. Took him over the summer. We had 7 video response papers -super simple questions. 2 exams -very easy, the study guide he gives is exactly what will be on the test. 1 research paper -not bad, just time consuming. He's a lenient grader, show up, watch the videos and you're good to go.
This professor was very unclear. The class was very difficult to pass. He gives pop quizzes and pop class works. His lectures are boring and he tries to hold you past the time. He is a cool guy, but not so cool of a professor. Would not recommend to a friend.
Easy A. Come to class for the random iClicker and use the study guides. All of his PowerPoints are on Blackboard the tests are straight from them. Homework is online and easy but time-consuming. Always tries to talk after the class has already ended. Off topic ALL THE TIME. Had to buy the textbook just for the access code to do homework.
took Lukasik for environmental sociology, we pretty much watch 1 interesting documentary per week and then answer questions on them. midterm and final paper and easily do-able. attendance is a percentage of your final grade, so i encourage you to show up. he is passionate about what he teaches and you'll learn something new each class.
Great professor! He is very fair with grading and you must show up to class in order to get credit. His lectures are long, but he is very passionate about teaching and helpful! I would highly recommend him to other students.
Lukasik has an accent so sometimes it can be hard to understand him when he speaks through the microphone. The lectures are boring, but he randomly does attendance. However, it is often enough that you have to go to class. There is a lot of in the slides and the tests are based on the slides. He is really boring and the class is too. TEST HARD!!
Alright, I never thought I would have to write a review like this. His classes are all lectures and he talks all the time. Even when we have 2 mins left of class he will tell us not to leave, and stay for the last 30 seconds. You can leave his class whenever, and attendance is random. So if you plan on skipping class, you might get marked absent. There is no textbook required. All power point lectures are online. You do have to buy Revel and Learning Catalytic's. It's required. Overall he's alright, you only have to right 2 papers, and they aren't that long. This class feels like it drags on forever.
The topic of sociology itself is interesting but his lectures were not as intriguing as the subject. He is an awesome guy though and cares a lot about his students. Make sure to come to class, it's a big chunk of your grade. Exams are cake if you study. Assignments are easy since their through a software. Honestly an easy A depending on the person.
One of the best professors I've had at FAU! He is so nice and is such a good teacher. He really cares about what he teaches and makes it interesting!
Took environmental sociology with Dr. Lukasik. Class was not difficult as long as you put in the effort to do the papers and study for the exams. I am passionate about taking classes about the environmental and this class covered a lot and gives a good baseline to environmental concerns. He gives good study guides for exams and rubrics for papers.
I will admit this teacher is very friendly. However his classes and the professor himself are extremely boring you can sense the class drifting off and yet he still keeps talking. I only took this professor because his wife is a great professor so I figured he would be one too but no classes are very boring however he is friendly
Lectures are boring he gets off topic way too much and holds student so after class is over sometimes to try to finish what he was talking about. He expresses his opinions a lot, he is very liberal in his opinions of the government and ways gets a bit annoying. Tests easy, never know when he going to do attendance. Online homework each week he's ok
So disorganized. His content on blackboard is from years past and the dates are all wrong. Way too much writing. Hard tests, too. The study guide consists of every single thing he went over in the semester-not helpful. Expects you to be engaged and keeps you till at least 10 pm.
Don't take this class even if you're desperate. Says attendance is mandatory so we bought it used it MAYBE ten times the whole semester. Reads directly off his slides, which are confusing. Not very helpful or polite when it comes to questions in class, VERY condescending to students who disagree with him. Lectures went over class time everyday.
He's a nice guy, but not a good professor. He isn't clear about what will be on his exams. His lectures also do not coincide with the information that you are tested on! He's not awful, but probably wouldn't take him again.
Be prepared to be bored out of your mind.. Looking around, each student is either already asleep or drifting off. All he does is lecture for 2 hours, non stop, in a monotone voice. Not only is the material he's talking about boring, but his presentation does not help. Boring lectures, lots of homework, confusing topics. Papers/pop quizzes
his accent is very difficult to listen to. lectures the entire 3 hours.. very boring. tough grader. lots of papers. HARD tests, study a lot. Do all of the homework! Don't skip class, attendance is mandatory and helps if youre there. On papers, follow his exact guidelines or wont do well. dont stray from the social movement guidelines
DO NOT TAKE HIM FOR SUMMER. Took this classes expecting to get a lot out of it and it was probably one of the worst sociology classes I've ever taken at FAU. Before the course i had heard great things about him, all WRONG. reads right off of power points, very vague with assignments, curves exams 14+ points, lots of videos, expects you to read
2 tests: he gives study guide. they are somewhat difficult but he curves. got A on both. 1 essay: time consuming but easy if u follow rubric. 5 short papers: half page to a page each. Not sure if he even reads them. I got 100s on all 5. Overall, lecture heavy class but not bad. Id take him again.
just dont do it
Dr. Lukasik is a good professor because he knows a lot about the courses he teaches. During some lectures he can go off topic or interject his opinion but YOU just have to stay focused on the material at hand. Lots of online homework/quizzes, 2 in class exams, and 2 essays. Overall, he's a good professor but you have to be mentally prepared for him
He really knows his stuff and is passionate about what hes teaching. He has a slight accent but its pretty easy to understand and he loves to say overuse the word obviously. He is also constantly knocking the US which can be annoying and it seems like he would much rather live in his home country of Poland. All around good prof and would take again
This class was not hard at all. However, his lectures are boring and he just reads the powerpoint that you can find online on Canvas. His tests are not difficult, but you do need to study a lot to get an A on them. The study guides don't help as much as I would expect to study for the test. Use the chapters and powerpoints instead to study!
The class is really boring by itself, but the professor makes it ten times worse. He is a nice guy, but really disorganized and does not seem to care much for this class. His powerpoints are long, but informative for exams. Option for research paper or group presentation in the end. Textbook not really used. Attendance is taken every so often.
Pretty simple course. Three tests, two simple writing assignments, and easy online hw. Lectures straight from the powerpoints (which he posts online) and shows a lot of videos. Just make sure to do the study guides and you're golden. Takes attendance randomly.
This professor is very knowledgable, however, he isn't a good teacher at all. During class he is constantly babbling about something that you don't care about. There is no sense of organization for this class AT ALL. The only thing you get are exam dates on the syllabus. Other than that, he has about 100+ pages of reading a week with no due date.
I don't get the hate for this professor. Yes his lectures are definitely boring but it is a sociology class. There is a lot of reading to do and an online homework assignment due once every few weeks. The test questions come right off of the study guides. Easy A if you do the studying. He takes attendance randomly.
Hes not a bad professor, clearly passionate and knows what hes talking about, but his lectures are never-ending long. He barely grades anything so you gotta be careful with what you turn in. Majority of grade comes from attendance that he takes randomly and 3 exams.
Learned so much, for once I had a history class that wasn't talking about how amazing America was. Learned more in this class about global societies, cultures and politics than any other class. Loved the teacher and I am so happy that he gave us real history rather than what all American obsessed textbooks give. Very real and truthful.
Pretty boring class, and he basically just reads off the slides and is disorganized. Only went to class because there might be a pop quiz here or in-class assignment. Papers were easy to do well on and just study the power points for exams, which get a curve
Awful teacher. The most unorganized professor I have ever had. He bounces around from different PowerPoints and does not know what assignments are due when. I am currently taking this course with him and am regretting that decision. Do not take him if you hate disorganized professors that do not seem to know what is going on in their own class.
Get ready to wait for him to find articles in a stack of paper and hear him say "uhhhhh" all the time. He's really emotional when vocally disagree with him. Overall I was completely lost in this class.
Certainly an easy A class. Majority of things taught in this class were already common sense. Lectures a lot, often reads straight from powerpoints but what isnt on the powerpoints that he lectures about is equally important. 3 exams, very easy, two papers (got 100 on both-super easy), will need revel access code + randomly takes attendance
He's an ok professor but heavily unorganized. At the beginning of the semester I was so confused about what materials were needed and how to use these materials. In his class for me it was more of a self teaching process rather than a him teaching. I even attended class and still found it hard to understand how he teaches.
Very easy class to pass and common sense curriculum. Would take again very sweet man
the most unorganized teacher ever does not know when any due dates will be including final exam. assigned a group project for an online class during COVID who does that?? it was insanely stressful because members did not answer. a lot of readings weekly that have heavy material and do not make sense weekly quizzes nearly impossible to get an A on
AVOID AT ALL COSTS IF YOU ACTUALLY WANT TO LEARN SOMETHING! This was probably the most unprofessional, disorganized professor I have ever taken. Given, the class was pretty easy and you didn't have to go everyday because everything is in the PowerPoints. But his exams are 60 PERCENT of your grade. His lectures are terrible and he talks in circles.
The whole grade depends on the impossible quizzes.
Per his treatment of students during the COVID-19 pandemic, this teacher was grade! I would recommend in-person as he is definitely more comfortable with doing that but that may change for spring! A discussion post every week and occasional homeworks... tests are easy! My only complaint is I wouldve preferred in person!
He was not as terrible as everyone is making it seem. The class is fairly easy because there are not that many assignments. You have to buy the access code for the textbook and thats where you do the quizzes. You have to write 2 papers (which arent worth much which sucks) The only bad thing is the exam is 60% of your grade.
DO NOT TAKE. This is the worst class I've taken at FAU because this professor is just so disorganized. The syllabus doesn't match up to any of the due dates and it's unclear what is expected. I constantly felt like I was missing something.. The quiz's were kind of confusing. and he was rude and dismissive when I emailed him about it
Terrible teacher, he makes his own quizzes which are IMPOSSIBLE to pass, people only passed cuz they cheated, the questions are irrelevant and impossible to have known without looking at powerpoint charts. Grading scale is harsh getting A's on huge papers doesnt even move your grade up all. interesting material but you arent tested on it so u fail.
I absolutely loved this class! The lectures were really interesting and the professor was really cool! The coursework was also fairly easy and your grade is made up of exams, discussion posts, and 2 papers. Truly one of my favorite classes this semester!
His quizzes are unorganized and we even had to have him fix the grades because he marked correct answers wrong, as if he doesn't even know the material he's teaching. He was also rude when I tried to contact him. For a 2000 level course he made this class extremely difficult, from making everything single spaced to over complicating material.
He was an amazing professor. His class covered relevant topics: racism, sexism, classism, sociological perspectives. His lectures were interesting and he makes you laugh because he's quite quirky when it comes to tech. He is knowledgeable and passionate about sociology. Also work is so easy you can find answers in textbook and only two papers!
I should've headed the previous warnings because they are all true. To put it simply: 1. Quizzes are impossible to pass and I have a 3.8 GPA 2. He gives A LOT of work, do not take this class in the summer. 3. No matter how much I study or look at the powerpoints, his questions only make sense to him. Only take this class if you need a B or C.
We have Discussion boards weekly with 2 responses to classmates, quizzes weekly some are hard, and 5 Q Papers out of 12 topics from each week. He gives PowerPoints and has recorded lectures. The quizzes do not show which ones get wrong. There is 1 research paper or opt to do group presentation (recommend single) the instructions are difficult.
Don't take Greg's courses if you feel like keeping your GPA up. His quizzes are ridiculously confusing and weigh super heavy on your grade. They are almost impossible to pass and his lecturing style is disorganized and confusing.
TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!! If you want to actually enjoy your time at Fau stay SOOO far away!!! i am shocked he gets away with giving out so many assignments! i have taken very rigorous classes and his classes make you fall asleep oh and did I mention the WEEKLY essays??? super fun... NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was the worst class I have ever taken at FAU. I found the information displayed in the most boring way and he gives wayyyy too many assignments weekly. Expect to write at least 6 papers and take a quiz every week. He also throws in discussion boards and projects. It is insane to me that he has his course set up like this. Stay away!!!
He uses the same exact grade formatting in every class yet his quizzes are built off in class discussions. My -->online
Links for videos attached to assignments don't match up to the links required to watch for papers. Canvas is obviously not updated from years prior with dates to confirm. Online classes with no Zoom lectures and quizzes ask questions based on in-class discussions, which simply never happened.
Honestly, this professor was pretty good. The lectures might have been something I wasn't interested in but it was easy to catch up quickly to what he was saying. He's very passionate about what he teaches too. His exams are pretty straight forward, most of the info can be gathered through his slides and PowerPoints he uploads.
He's a great professor, his teaching style might not be for everyone, however, he truly shows how passionate he is with his lectures. For the exams and quizzes, they're mostly focused on the PowerPoints and lectures he has. His class focused on real world problems. Overall Greg is a pretty genuine and interesting person who loves to teach.
I loved this professor, he was a sweet older man. He was always available for questions after class. He made his lectures super interesting with current examples. The only thing I would be cautious of is the fact that your grades are occasional attendance, 2 papers, and 3 exams. Besides that he had a couple extra credit in class assignments.
Professor Lukasik makes the lectures engaging, even if the topics aren't that interesting. The exams are straightforward if you stay on top of the material. Unstuck AI and the textbook are great study aids for this class.
Pretty much an easy A if you listen.
We just sit in class lamenting about racism, homophobia, and sexism, even though anyone with a brain realizes no one cares about those things anymore. Feels like we are stuck in 2020 with the activism topics, and I just came to learn about sociology and the way people act socially. Can be taken for a different perspective, but his points are weak.
He's okay, his lectures are usually behind the assignment which makes out for a lot of time doing your own studying. Few assignments though which can be nice if you get good grades on them. I don't think I would take again because of his teaching style; not for everyone.
This is the second course I take with him and his classes are a breeze. He makes it easy to pass and his lectures are very informative.
