Must always keep the camera on for attendance points. This class is hard for a 150 course but a passing score is attainable. There are study guides available to complete for each week, which is helpful because all the tests are open note! Bro. Mahrt tries to make class fun and has us work in groups and share.

Works really well with his TAs, is available for questions, and always includes class involvement. His teaching method is designed to prevent rote memorization and promote active application of course material. Tests were open book and were focused on information application rather than memorization. Homework isn't difficult, just time consuming.

Br. Mahrt is straight forward with his subject matter. He gives a lot of extra credit throughout the course. He teaches pretty clearly but sometimes he goes too fast with his powerpoints. If you read the textbook and do his reading guides and assignments you should be aye ok with a good grade.

This class is based on book reading outside class and discussions/group work in class. The stuff we learn is really cool! Attendance is mandatory so dont take it from him if youre expecting to skip frequently. Brother Mahrt is super friendly and very willing to help however he can. This is a science class, don't be mistaken. There are 3 Perrusal readings a week and a test every 2ish weeks. The tests are hard; even those in my class who studied got low scores. So be prepared. This class alone took more of my time than my other 3 credit classes combined, which were level 200/300. Brother Mahrts class was one that I almost always looked forward to. There are usually about 3-4 online readings that you have to make comments on a week, but they usually aren't too long. There isn't a lot of homework besides that. His lectures are really interesting and he is really funny and makes class enjoyable.

After each unit is complete he switches the groups up so you get to meet most of all the students in the class. Its a super fun class and a even better teacher!

The class is good and you will learn a lot. The exams can be difficult. some questions can take you off guard so make sure you are doing all the extra practice quizzes and other study material before exam time. One thing that is really great is that Bro. Mahrt gives an optional exam at the end of the semester that can only improve your grade.

Very enjoyable, good class structure, good activities. Uses Perusall for the textbook, but it is easy to make your comments and you always feel prepared for exams. (of which there are not many, and the final exam is optional to replace one of the other exam scores)
