I took Professor Miller for EUH 1001. I was very intersted in history so it came easy. His lectures are entertaining and informative. His tests are essay tests. Pay attention, show up for class, PARTICIPATE, show an interest in the material and you'll do fine. You must write a good essay and focus on what he wants you to focus on. SPECTACULAR!

Mr. Miller is a great teacher. His tests are in essay format but he tells you what will be on the test and reviews the test a day before the exam. He is a great teacher who will keep you entertained throughout his class. He is willing to help and is very easy to talk to. I recommend you take him if you want to get an A in this class.

Good teacher. His fun and self-depricating humor is a blast to listen to. Miller is also somehow able to tie in wrestling references to history, making it about twice as funny. Tests are in essay format, but in my opinion, this is easier. I must note that if your taking Military History though, I never used the book once (and I payed $70! for it!)

Mr. Miller was a great proff. he know everything and anything you could possibly want to know!!! test were all essays, but he gives you the review sheet. i would take him again if needed to!

he gives essay tests. He gives u 3 essays and 5 questions to study before the test and he picks 1 essay and three questions the day of the test. I can't get any easier. NO stupid papers, "don't buy the book", he gives powerpoints.

Summer 06- Early American History. Professor Miller was a great teacher. He really seems to love his job. He has a good sense of humor, and likes to crack jokes during his lectures. He also has an encyclopedic knowledge of history. There are 3 exams, all in a blue book - that means all essays - lots of writing. Also, extra credit opportunity.

He's a bit quirky and has dry sense of humor; and he's not always giving the most exciting lectures: but, sincerely, he knows his subject and has a passion for it. He gives three exams, all of which are composed of three identifications and one essay. He tells you what will be on it and gives a review the class before. He gives good extra credit.

Greg Miller ROCKS! If you're not a good note taker I would suggest taking a hand held recorder. I suck at history but passed his class and found him extremely entertaining. He makes funny faces, tells stories from his past, and says gesundheit after you sneeze the first time. But sneeze twice and he says "Stop that!" LOL! A+ for Greg! He's great!

2 tests, one final.you have to prepare for 3 essays and 5 identifications each time. He will give a test review the day before the test. He will choose one essay and 3 identifications. Just be prepared for all of them. use notes and internet for reseach. He gives the opportunity of 41 extra credit points. Not an easy A but an easy B. knows history!

Great Professor. Very detailed, knows how to ****e up his class with humor. If you study, take notes in class (and you will take a lot of notes), his class is an easy A. So many chances for extra credit, I don't know how some manage to fail or get a B. Again, many are still in highschool mode and you only get the grade you work for.

Would highly recommend. Very knowlageable.He knows that not everyone has his level of interest in the subject matter but makes the class interesting for even those who don't share the same interest he does.

His Lectures are like a story. He keeps you interested and you wont be too bored. If you want to learn you will enjoy this class. Lots of notes but you don't really need a book.

He is very into history. Participate....he likes that. Ask questions and be involved. He has a weird sense of humor. You don't need the book. He will tell you everything you need to know. Print out Power points and make notes on them. You will get out of this class what you put in. I recommend him.

awesome guy! he makes history fun. i'm taking another one of his classes this semester. you dont really need the book as long as you take good notes and show up to exam reviews. he explains everything for you. and he has a very sarcastic/dark sense of humor, love it! i would recommend him because i was never into history until i took his class.

I just started taking him and I find that he talks a little too quickly. I wish his powerpoints were a little more detailed because of this. He is very funny and very corny. He looks like Steve Carell a little bit. Only been in 2 classes so far and it's pretty interesting just needs to slow down a bit.

An excellent professor. I learned a great deal. Loved his sense of humor. He makes the class interesting and gives great reviews for tests. Also gives opportunity for extra credit. I have taken Professor Miller twice now and found him to be an outstandinhg professor both times. The exams are essay style so if you study the IDs thoroughly from his lectures- you should get a good grade. I cannot stress enough that you should do the extra credit book report (it really helps!)

prof Miller is awesome. he makes history fun. he gives 3 tests per sem. which consist of 1 essay and 3 terms to ID. he gives 3 essays to review and goes over each of them in class. on test day he rolls a dice to pick which test and IDs will be given. he allows you to email him sample essays also and he gives feedback on them. STRONGLY RECOMMEND!!

I am all about math, so I was dreading this class. Thanks to Miller, I enjoyed History for once and I got an A. You do need to attend class and stay the entire time and have to put in a few hours of studing(what a shocker!), but if you do this, you will recieve the grade you deserve. If you fail this class or have to drop it, you deserve to.

You earn your grade from only 3 tests. Each 100 points. 270-300 is an A, but you can earn up to 340 with extra credit. I am very bad at writing, so what helped me was writing the essays out before and reading over them. Oh and by the way, you don't have to know any history from before. Great Profeesor! Highly recommend!!

Miller is a cool guy, his classes are easy, and he gives in-depth detail about his subjects. He has a good sense of humor and isnt strict on grading. You only have 3 tests, and 1 is your final..best teacher at hcc so far!

Steve Carell I mean Prof. Miller is a good choice. 3 exams, he gives you 5 IDs and 3 essay topics then he chooses 3 IDs and 1 essay topic by rolling a die. does a complete review the day before the exam. study hard and know it bc it is easy to forget on exams. Lectures it is clear what you need to know for exams which are essays. He does reviews prior to exams. Prior to exams he posts study guide of about 5 essay questions that could be on the exam and 5 people/items that could be. On day of exam he rolls dice to determine which #'s will be the questions.Veteran paper only 2 pages easy grade.

Really liked this professor! he's funny and sarcastic. attendnce is definetly mandatory and his tests require you to remember alot of info but just take good notes and study and you'll pass without much trouble. if you really try your best and need his help he is more than happy to oblidge.

Second time I've taken this professor and he is wonderful! he lectures from beginning to end so make sure to attend every class! exams can be difficult because of so much material but with enough studying, it's pretty easy. Definetly recommend him!

Greg Miller is THE most knowledgeable history teacher I've had. He is a very unique guy. He lectures and tests in bulk, so make sure you know EXACTLY what you'll be tested on. You will only have THREE exams - make them count! He is very generous with the extra credit book review assignment so if you're running low on points, DO it! Good teacher!

Most informative history prof I have had. Class can be a bit tense if you have people who don't play along with the Socratic method, but the lectures are fantastic. Attendance is a must if you want to know what key points he expects in the exam essays, and you will have to do outside research to get an A on tests, but overall great experience.

Professor Miller's class is very interesting. His method of teaching is pure lecture. He reviews for all three exams. Exams are not easy, you have to STUDY. He gives you a total of 8 topics from lecture and you will be tested randomly for four. He is very generous if you are willing to do the book report for 25points. Take this class with Miller!

He's a nice guy. I wouldn't take him again if I knew how his tests were going to be though. His tests are ONLY discussion questions which you have to basically memorize. No multiple choice. Nothing. If you miss class you're out of luck. He lectures the whole class & thats what you will use for notes to study. Don't take him.

Not a fan of this professor. His entire class is lecture and he treats us like elementary kids. No sleeping, no texting, no talking. Give me a break. Also, he is very hard grading tests. Tests sre essay format and you must know every detail to get a decent grade with him. Attendance is also mandatory with him.

Miller is amazing with responding to emails.I wish all teachers were like him in that aspect.His class is based off his power points which is post them online.He allows you to do extra credit which is reading a novel for 25 points,which comes in handy!Test are easy its all memorization.So you do have to devote time to study no book is required

Mr Miller is tough, the second class starts he lectures with his power points. You have to take a lot of notes, and study very hard for his test. This was definitely the toughest class for me yet.

His exams are really hard. He does however give you all the essay questions he'll be using. the topics are very broad so study everything and then some about them. He is not the easiest teacher but his corny jokes did make sitting in his class enjoyable.

Overall he is a great teacher. Gives you a study guide for each exam which really helps. Yes, he does lecture non stop, but he does at least make it interesting. Be prepared to take a lot of notes.

I took class with him over the summer 2008 and i really enjoyed it .. basically he will give 3 essay and 5 identities in the exam but this will given before the class and he will chose 1 essay and 3 identities that you have to write it seems very easy because you already have topics of the essay and identities before the exam just prepare all

Ill preface this rating by saying I learned a lot and received a good grade in his class. That said, Mr. Miller is a quirky, albeit very intelligent, guy. His lectures are more or less from memory aided by general overview powerpoints. His exams are all essays but he gives ample time to prepare and will review your work prior to the test.

Teaches good and knows his facts. He doesnt like to have direct eye contact he looks at the ceiling all the time he looks nervous but is funny keeps the class alive. I would recommend over other teachers. Tests suck but are fairly easy as long as you do the practice test he gives out

Loved his class. I hated history before I took his class. He is super smart and quirky and seems very passionate about the subject. All exams are essay format and they can be hard if you don't study or take good notes. Anyone who says he is boring is obviously not paying attention and don't have good listening skills. This is not a slacker's class.

Professor Miller is a very quirky individual. He will always leave you with his famous catch phrase at the end of class. He likes to stand in front of class and lecture for the whole class period. He uses powerpoints to jog his memory and he talks about what he knows. His exams are his reviews so study them well! An easy A if you put any effort in.

What can I say. Class is simple, easy, funny yet serious. All power points and a lot of notes. The test. OH . THE TEST. THEY ARE HORRIBLE. I was in class with 20 students and 19 of them were shaking the bolts out of there brain with anxiety.

The professor is great but never try to do the extracredit book review if you dont want to be deducted 25 points from your grade. He is nice , also grade tough! Average grade in this class is C or B ! He knows what he is teaching and he is passionate about what he teach.

power points are online but you might not understand what he wants you to get out of it! his test are writing test, gives you 3 topic in advance day of the test. (I used google)he picks one and you write your guts out. his lecture are a bit boring at times try not to fall asleep ,but email him and he will respond fast he reviews your essay before.

My only critique for this course is the instructor's chosen testing format. The timed essays and randomness of which topic will be written upon diminishes what I believe is an otherwise fantastic class and exceptional instructor. He makes the subject fun and relates it to modern day situations.

Great teacher, gives you every chance possible to pass all test are essay based easy if you study and take notes. If u email him a sample of your essay he sends you corrections before he grades it. Love him. He gives you a study guide for the test and extra credit on the day of the test took him for summer and i would again.

Gregory Miller is a great teacher in my opinion. The test are all in essay format however he gives you the prompt and ids about two weeks before the actaul test. He's very specific in his lectures.(I enjoy coming to them). He gives extrea credit. And what helps the most is that he's interested in what he talks about. I really did enjoy his class.

very monotone and hard to pay attention in lectures but is very knowledgable in his subject. his criteria is laid out in the syllabus and gives extra credit but if writing isn't your strong suit do not take this class

Professor Miller is the best Professor! (so funny) This course is very lecture heavy, but if you take good notes and study then you will not have any problem. Participate and be respectful. There are two extra credit opportunities as well if you need it. All exams were in class essays which were picked at random, so again, just make sure you study!

We only had 4 tests and each test was an essay. But he gave you the prompts way in advance, and he chooses from those. His material was easy to comprehend.

My original professor actually moved jobs after about two weeks into the semester so we inherited Professor Miller. He is a really great teacher. He teaches you what's on the tests, and although those are your only grades he posts the possible essay topics and study tools weeks before. Gives extra credit opportunities as well.

Literally one of my favorite professors at HCC. His lectures are very easy to follow along with and he post all of his power points on canvas. He tells you exactly what hes looking for on the quizzes and exams. Theres no structure to them either, just kind of write what you know about it.

Professor Miller is a really good professor, really cares a lot about history. All his tests are in essay format, which is definitely interesting, but if you know the majority of the material you should be fine. I've taken his AM-2010 and 2020 classes, Gregory Miller is very passonate about his teachings and after speaking with him means well in wanting to teach history to the best of his ability in a condensed format for a 16 week course. His exams are very tough as the topics are events that happened around the period talked about in lectures.
