Even with a class of 100 students, he doesn't put you to sleep. A few laughs every class and he makes even finance interesting.

Prof. Richet Rocks!! Finance is not my major or strong point and frankly nothing I am inetrested in. He made it interesting, entertaining and very clear. If you put in the work, you will get a good grade. If you don't do well in this class, give up business as a major because it ain't for you.

Great professor! Originally, this was a 60-seat class, but he's so popular, it had to be expanded to 150, and the final count was 163. Time flew in class. He kept it light and funny and still taught us what we needed to know. I wish all professors would follow Richey's lead and realize that business classes don't have to be boring and joyless.

Had him for 4 classes, excellent. made a hard subject easy and a boring subject fun. Im not the most studious but I got an A in every one of his classes. Would highly recommend him. Very fair and grades on a curve. Ecellent teacher...too bad he isnt permanent faculty.

One of the best professor's on Campuse and a great guy. The class was full and he still added me, not two many professor's will go out of there where like he did. Very clear and easy to understand. i took him for acct 212, fin 313, and fin 314. its a fun class and pretty easy to understand...if you pay attention =p i wish i could take another class w/ him cuz he's a good teacher...but im done w/ all my finance classes lol >< i recommend taking his class for your finance requirements.

RICHEY, basically hooked me up! He made me understand finance.. .when it was at first a foreign language to me! Besides helping you learn a hard to learn subject that 90% flunk, he gave EXTRA CREDIT THAT WAS MEANINGFUL! THe extra credit he gives is, if you are wrong on answers on the test, find the right answer and tell him why you think its the right answer! Therefore, doing that also helped me learn! I highly recommend!

Okay, an easy A is one thing, answering the test questions for us is another. Come on, this is supposed to be a university. This class should be educational and helpful in your everyday life. Instead it is a pointless waste of time and money. He's a great guy and undoubtedly the single easiest A you will ever recieve. But don't expect to learn.

Richey cares about his students. He is a great prof. He makes sure he knows your name by the end of the quarter.

He is a great teacher. He made It easy. I got b's on the test, that was open book and still got an a in the class for just showing up. I want to have him again.

He's tough on attendance. Just like the previous poster mentioned, if you get B's on the tests and have perfect attendance, you'll get an A. If you get A's on the tests but flake on attendance (He checks it every week) you'll get slammed. Attendance is 30% of the grade. It's a "once a week" class so I can see where he's coming from.

Good teacher, fun, kept finance as interesting as possible. Good at remembering your name and taking the time to help out what you were confused about.

Excellent to work with, willing to help without making you feel uncomfortable. More relaxed teaching than you would expect in Finance. Allows you to rework your tests to better your grade (% increase based on average scores). Funny. Course content seemed to repeat ACCT 212 content, until the last 4 weeks.

Awesome professor! Made me fall in love with finance! His lectures are clear and understandable. Rarely uses the textbook. He explains things we need to know with his own understanding of the material. Makes up his own examples using real world situations. Allows cheat sheet, but you can correct your mistaks on the exam for half credit.

show up to class, take good notes, do the index card and you will get an easy B+. Tests are difficult if you don't practice the lecture problems. But overall, he is an awesome instructor, makes time go by fast! One of best finance teachers here!

If you have a chance to take his class you will be glad you did because he is awesome. Test are not easy you have to study a little but he lets you use a note card on the test in case you forget anything also he does not make you memorize the formulas.

Professor Richey is the awesomeness teacher I ever had. This teacher is one to hang out and chill. He teaches the class well-prepared. He'll let you use note cards during exams if you forget formulas and/or notes. Really helpful. Cool dude to have. I highly recommend (which he won't be teaching anymore). Excellent class & professor! The tests are open book & open note & very easy if you go to class regularly and pay attention. It helps to take this class even if you're not a bussiness or finance major because it teaches you a little bit about everything you need to know to manage your money. Best Professor of all time! enjoyed summer with him. Take plenty of notes in class(powerpoints on BB). Lectures very clearly(almost hard not to understand). Very helpful with questions(plenty of office hours). He lets you use a 5x7 notecard for formulas. I can't wait to take him in the Fall 09(Fin313). Did I mention that I got a B in the class :)

Great professor for non majors and not just because not ESL. You still have to study a little everyday but he tells you what will be on the test if you get less than a B I would be surprised!

The class only meets once a week so be sure to come! Everything learned in that class will definatly help you in the real world. All the tests (3 of them) are open note, open book, so its near impossible to fail this class. Easy 2 unit class.

Richey is one of the best finance professors CSUSB has to offer. Very low key, teaches the financial calculator, funny and interesting so it is easy to pay attention and understand. I recommend him to everyone. I had him for 313 too-- had to crack the book a little more for 314 than I did in 313, but his lectures cover just about everything!

Easy only showed up for tests, I am a senior, But the class should be easy for anyone. Open book open note tests. If you don't know about managing money, should attend lectures. these are life long skills.

Richey is a nice dude and class is not mandatory. Its an easy class to get a B. It was so easy it was hard to keep awake though. Buying the book is very helpful but you can buy an older edition and save some money. Tests are open book.

Richey is by far the best Finance/accounting professor at CSUSB. He explains things very well and is very helpful. A word of advice though: take him as soon as you can. Taking other professors for lower classes has screwed me over. You don't learn anything from anyone else

Best Finance Teacher there is at CSUSB!! My entire schedule revolved around his class and I wouldn't have taken finance with anyone else! Will allow you to use a note card for the exams and also give opportunities for extra points on your test if you correct all errors. Take him for finance!!

He's an amazing prof, as well as friend. Such an approachable guy and very knowledgeable. He simplifies all the concepts for 101 and 313 (currently attending), whereas other profs only confuse students more. Take it with him, you won't regret it (though his classes always fill up quickly)

Richey is a good professor and he makes time to help you if you take the time to ask him. However the tests can be tricky. Grade based on 3 tests each worth 33.3% of your grade. Put the time in to study, on every test a few people would bomb it and if you do really bad on a test your toast.

Richey presents the material in a well-organized, clear manner. Exams usually have have an avg. score of about 80%. Previous poster must've been one of the very few who bombed...this is college, you have to study!

One of the best professors I have taken!finance is not a fun or easy subject but if you must take it with HIM! He does everything in his power so you learn w/ examples. The first test he let us correct, the second test he let us retake, he curves the final, and on top of that he offers extra credit. Very helpful. Nice and makes class enjoyable!

Come to class, takes notes, do the problems on B.B., ask questions, and you will be O.K. Nice professor and makes a tough subject simple; however, you need to study hard.

Open book exams but you need to read the chapters because questions can be tricky. Also, a number of the questions will come from the lecture not the book so go to class.

Professor Richey genuinely wants his students to learn from his class; he is teaching life lessons that all young people should know. I am one of the older students in his class, so I have experienced a lot of the things he touches on (banking, investing, buying a house, knowing your credit history), and I know how valuable this class is.Take it!

He is a pretty chill dude. He was actually funny sometimes lol 2 exams, 1 final & a small assignment. He also offered extra credit once. BUY THE TEXTBOOK. His exams are open book/notes however the answers are hard to find sometimes. Also do practice math problems before the exams or else you won't know how to do them (happened to me)

Quick and easy class. 95% of exams come from lecture notes that he provides and are filled in in class. Only one assignment requiring the book and this can be done at the library. One exam needs tables in the back of the book, but he will provide them in class anyway.

Prof Richey is so energetic and very clear about what he is teaching. His method of teaching and the handouts he creates for you are SO SO helpful on the test if you show up to class to do them. Open book/note/powerpoint tests. Very good class, awesome prof, easy 2 units! ;)

This teacher is the best, this was my second time retaking it THANKS to ANDRUSCO. This teacher has the patience of a saint to explain. Also he actually uses the book a lot and uses CONNECT for homework. Overall great teacher they should hire more teachers like him. That they love to teach and not like others they only screw us up.

Another easy A class, but class is mandatory, you will have to print out notes and fill them in while he lectures. All quizzes and tests are open notes and open book. So as long as you go to class and take notes, you don't really need the book. You will need a calculator for some math problems. Don't forget to do the 1 assignment and EC.

Took for 101, 313 & 314. Can really explain a subject that some people really have trouble with. Will answer any questions that you have. Homework on Connect does factor into grade, which is a nice cushion. Allows for test revisions to increase grade. Makes funny jokes and remarks to keep the class awake and engaged.

This class is a follow up to ACCT 212, but finance is much more interesting than accounting. Richey made the class fun and interesting. 2 midterms, one final and maybe 45 online hw questions in total. There was also an optional supplement class that I went to every time and that helped a lot as well.

Based on the reviews, I was slightly disappointed when I took Professor Richey. He talks WAY too much for my style of teaching but that is only because he extremely passionate about finance. Overall, he is still an amazing teacher. We got to use a note card on exams and the homework on McGraw Hill Connect really helped my grade. Highly recommended!

Grade is made up of three tests and one HW assignment, along with extra credit. The HW assignment comes from the book an is fairly easy, and the tests are all open book. The class was pretty interesting, I feel like I learned a decent amount about personal finance. If you're looking for an easy GE this is the class to take.

Funny professor. Gives good information. The tests are open-book. I took the summer session, so he offered 1 (easy)extra credit option. There was 1 simple hw assignment. Go to class. He has you write important points that will show up on the test. There's no reason not to do well, or at least decent.

Really funny and easy going professor

Richy was a great professor. He gives you 3 exams, which you can use a whole sheet of paper as a cheat sheet, gives extra credit and only on homework assignment throughout the whole quarter. Fairly easy class. You don't have to show up to class but he will say to write stuff down that will be on the exams, which aren't on the slides.

Finance 101 is fun with professor richey. You meet up with him only 10 times the quarter however 3 of the are for exams. the 7 lectures are fun and he makes the time go fast and provides much needed life lessons. The only reason i got a B was cut i studied a little bit but it could of been an A with a good review sesh

I personally hate finance, but he made it bearable. You don't need to buy the book, but you do need to show up because he does take attendance. Allowed a cheat sheet for all 3 exams and also offered extra credit. Make sure you pay attention to material that aren't on the slides because they do show up on the exams. Would take again!

Very easy and good professor. He really cares and makes sure that he relates it to college students, what he taught is really useful in life. Gives extra credit, make sure to pay attention to the syllabus. Also allows a cheat sheet that is 8x11 on all tests, Don't be like me who forgot about the midterm in which I wasn't prepared, hence my grade.

I did not do very well on the last two exams, however, I did pass the class with a solid A. Participation really does matter and can influence your grade a lot. He offered extra credit, which was super simple. The one homework assignment was also very easy.

Took him Spring 2017 and he made learning the concepts very easy. Only 3 hw assignments due before tests (3 Tests). Curves tests, and allows you to do test corrections, and 8x 10 cards on tests. Overall he wants you to get a good grade and learn the material. Hw is online (never really used the book but the access code came with book)

If you're afraid of Finance classes, he is your best shot at passing. You print out notes before class and just follow along in class. Walks you through how to solve problems and keeps it clear. Uses the financial calculator which makes it easy. 3 tests in the qtr, about 3 chapters each. 5x8 cheat sheet for tests. 15 HW probs due every test

Class is only 1 day a week. Takes attendance 5 times randomly. His exams are so easy...2 exams are given along with one final. You are allowed one 8.5X11" notes on the exams and final front and back. There is extra credit that is offered also, took me 5 minutes to complete. But, there is homework, kind of challenging, 3 chapter self test & prob set

Amazing professor! I took Finance before with an old man and failed it which discouraged me from taking finance again. However, This professor really helped me understand all the material without ever being lost. I seriously recommend him for any finance course you need to take! The course consists of 3 tests which he allows a cheat sheet for.

This guy is awesome. He is extremely considerate of his students and always ready to help. You get a cheat sheet with whatever you want on it, he doesn't care. I also think he doesn't care for exams either, he cares on whether you understand the material. I would love to take him again if the opportunity is given.
