Teacher is AWESOME! Great with examples and explains in clarity. Exams are not easy, but manageable. Keep on your toes because it is easy to fall behind. Do what is assigned, and you will be fine!

Very, very good teacher. Makes economics engaging and interesting. Somewhat difficult, but I think it's more the course scope and not him personally. Some people may not like him, but he's far better than any of the other available profs.

Econ 1A & 1B. Very strict attendance policy. Docked an entire grade point for each class missed beyond the limit (don't take early morning class). Best Econ teacher I've ever had. Tests are hard but everything's in the lecture. He keeps it fun.

Great teacher, doesn't let his political opinions cloud his teaching. Covers the whole spectrum of and keeps the class entertaining.

He's a pretty good teacher. I'm an economics major so the class was easy to me, but others might find it average difficulty. Good examples, good instruction.

He gave good explanations. The essays on the tests came from lecture. Multiple-choice sections were harder but similar to the mostly take home quizzes. Show up; he dropped some people as late as November for exceeding the absence limit. I did fine once I used the quizzes to study for the tests.

probably the hardest teacher ive had @ scc, but very helpful and explains things thoroughly. loves to use old jokes a lot, but it helps to explain the stuff he talks bout in class. midterms are VERY DIFFICULT and count for nearly 90% of your grade. RESOURCES ARE SCARCE & HUMAN WANTS ARE INSATIABLE

He's a cool teacher. Tends to go off subject sometimes. His exams are a little difficult, 25 m/c and 1 essay.

If you pay attention and copy notes during class, there isn't any reason why you wouldn't do well. He is willing to help if you go to his office or ask questions after class. Class has 3 tests and a final. He also tells you what's going to be on the test so you can mark your notes accordingly.

He was the best and most engaging prof I've ever had, he made the most boring subject in the world interesting. Very interactive, no sleeping.

Greg Rose is a **** and such a tight teacher. He is hard and you definitely have to go to class everyday, but he makes it hella fun and interesting. Although I am a straight guy, I would definitely lay Greg Rose for the A he gave me. out.

Takes a complex subject and makes it interesting and approachable. Has that rare ability to both answer student questions and yet stay on topic and not waste class time. Take good notes and study them and you will do fine. His jokes are a bit stale and **** but he is a fine teacher.

A friend of mine swore by Greg and said that he would take his class in the rain. I would join my friend. I admire this individual for all of his humor, dramatics,insight,dedication and that he rides his bike every morning from his home in Davis. Show up every day, take good notes and be on time!

In the 7:30AM class the class is quite and all there will be is lecture. I've heard there is more class interaction in the later classes. Overall i like the class. It is actually easier then High School Econ.

Best teacher of my college career, hands down. He is incredibly articulate and has a great sense of humor. He spells things out extremely well and uses interesting and comical real-world examples. If you stay on top of things you will learn a tremendous amount and have fun doing it. By far and away the most effective teacher I have come across.

One of the more challenging econ professors at Sac City, but right now I'm breezing through intermediate microeconomics at Sac State. You have to come to class, both bc Rose requires attendance and because the tests are based on lecture more than the book. Don't tick him off or you'll regret it. Most people I knew either loved him or hated him.

Well rounded professor. Intelligent,organized,sense of humor,and takes everything seriously. Challenging but very down to Earth and crystal clear with every lecture topic. Some homework and a few exams that consist of multiple choice and essay ques. A true asset to Economics and academia.

Mr. Rose does a very good job of using the information he is teaching in his lectures in real-life examples, stories, and scenarios which are both interesting and often humerous. He wants his students to learn. If you study and attend class you will pass no problem.

Anyway, this class does take a lot of effort: don't be absent, pay attention and take a lot of notes. This class isn't easy but Mr. Rose knows his stuff! Be willing to work & you'll be okay

great lecturer. he tries to entertain the class with his great sense of humor. lecture material is very useful for econ major, however his test material is hard and tricky especially on multiple choice part. take his class if you're well-prepared for the material.

HARD tests..easy quizzes..easy problem sets. Lectures are entertaining, though if you miss a class he'll get mad. His gives hints during his lectures on what will be on the test. pay very close attention to what he says and write down everything that he writes down. study the effects of what something does like increase or decrease.

Interesting dichotomy. Rose is a fantastic professor but... attending college for two + years now steadily maintaing a 4.0. This was the first grade other than an A for me. Tests are difficult in the extreme if you are not 100% knowledgeable of the material. Beware: this is not a class for the lazy. Enjoyed the class tho. Great teaching style!

Mr. Rose knows his stuff and his lectures are funny sometimes but this class is a little tough. Tests are difficult..even being multiple choice. Take good notes, ask questions and try not to miss class. It wasn't easy but I feel that I did learn something.

I am NOT a morning person but this class was worth having to be at school by 8. His lectures are fantastic, funny, interesting and crystal clear. Tough material and tests but if you work hard you'll be fine. He does get impatient easily and isn't very open to questions, however.

i took rose for micro and macro and it was well worth it. one of my favorite teachers by far. His class is by no means easy, but if you go to class every day, listen and get involved with his lectures, you can get away without even opening the book. this goes for both classes. I actually wish there was another econ that he taught

This was an amazing class!!! Makes lectures fun and entertaining. It brought econ to a whole new level for me. I would recommend him to anyone. Prof. Rose is awesome, TAKE ANY CLASS from him. You will not regret it. Good sense of humor and fun. You have to do the problem sets and study lots, but definitely worth it.

Rose is an awesome professor. Go to class, take notes, tests are all on the notes in class. He's passionate and knows his stuff. He manages to make econ interesting and fun. I got an A, never opened the book, his lectures are very captivating.

Prof Rose is so awesome. He's hilarious. He always has some great stories to tell and he makes economics relate to something easier to understand. I don't even like economics and I got an A. All you have to do is go to class. You have to be stupid to not get a good grade. If you listen, he'll say "i might ask you this on a test!" and it's true.

It is very important not to miss any classes or be late. Professor Rose is on top of attendance and if you are a minute late you are absent. I missed one day and I was stressing over my grade. But overall I have to say he is the best teacher at Sac City College. His style of teaching worked well for me.

He is a tough on those that don't follow the syllabus. Be on time, don't miss class, keep your cell phone on silent, don't copy homework sets. Take good notes, his quizes and midterms can all be derived from lecture. Just make sure you understand the concepts and you can apply them. You'll get an A like me. I'm taking him for Econ304 next semester!

The second half of the semester turns out being easier with a pretty easy final. Maybe rough in the beginning.

Yes he is a challenge. I do agree with sum of these comments. However he only lectures 2 believe what is necessary 2 know n life & as a business major. He's not as hard as everybody makes him out to be. You will have to study, but if you go to class everyday and study the book, you should do fine and learn a ton. Greg Rose is an incredibly kind, and interesting teacher. He is thorough, clear, and dedicated to his students. its simple. dont be late. be there everyday. dont buy the textbook. study lecture notes. thats it. yes, the tests and quizes are a little hard but if u study the lecture notes, you will get an A (85%). if u want to learn econ, take rose. if u want an easy A without studying, dont take rose and go back to high school

If you're serious about economics, Greg's the guy to take. If you're a whiny brat looking for an easy grade, than you might want to look elsewhere. Your grade is 90% exams and they're challenging. He works review into his lectures, but people are often too oblivious to recognize it. Take good notes and you should do well.

Greg's humor & passion for the subject makes the material more enjoyable. He's tough, but so is life. He reviews concepts so much during lecture it's drilled in your head, unless you don't go to class. Going over hw/quizzes is the student's responsibility. It's not high school anymore. He welcomes Q's after class; don't be scared to approach him.

I had Professor Rose for Econ 302 & 304 - about 10 years ago. I am sure his curriculum hasn't changed much sense then, but I had to review him. Greg Rose is an Excellent Professor. He is THE BEST in preparing you for the challenges & expectations of a 4-year college. After graduatung from UCLA in '02, Mr. Rose is one of my top 5 college teachers.

He's tough and so are his quizzes, tests, and homework. You WILL learn a lot from this class and you probably won't be forgeting it too soon. I got a B in the class because I did well on the final apparently but before that I had a low C and thought I'd have to take it again,if things get tough don't drop, stay for the final and get a B like me!

prof rose is an amazing professor. i really had no interest in this class at all (and to be honest still don't), but he at least makes the class interesting. the material itself is pretty easy if you use common sense. he can be a little cheesey at times but that could be what made the 7:30am class bareable. i'll definitely be taking him for micro.

Good teacher. If you have an attendance problem ... don't bother. I personally did not use the book, just took good notes and listened. 4 tests, including a comprehensive final. His examples help make sense of economics and he explains things well. He loves participation so speak up! I will be taking his class again. Little HW.

One of the worst and teachers at sac city. Doesn't prepare you for tests, but since its economics, you will most likely pass. Serious on attendance (late no homework turn in). He's a funny guy though. His tests have many grammar errors, making it quite confusing.

Explains material very well, almost no need to open textbook. Exams based on lecture so take good notes. HUGE on punctuality and attendance!! Talks a lot about girls and drugs, possibly overcompensating for the obvious. Take his class and you'll understand what I mean. I would definitely take him again though!

If you think this class is hard just drop out now! You will never make it out of community college! He is one of the only professors left that actually teach and expect the students to know the material. Extremely boring voice, which could be what put me to sleep on days when he didn't have interesting examples to supplement the lesson, but his examples seriously helped clarify the concepts he was teaching. Can be funny but ridiculously strict-- no texting, no talking, no sleeping, no tardiness and no absences. Barely read the book, passed with a B

Econ with a twist, he is funny (for an econ class.) Explains things well and you will learn econ. You must have a deep understanding to pass the tests. Strict but fair. No role but you won't do well if you cut.

I dont know why but i slept in 70% of his lectures......took him for 2 semesters for both micro(304) and macro(302).... He makes the subject really interestinng....is deeply attatched to ECON...but his voice was too low to keep me awake...TESTS are HARD...little but continous homework..FINAL INCLUDES WHOLE SEMSTER CONTENTS AND IS 50% OF TOTAL GRADE

Mr. Rose is a pure economist. The years teaching econ under his belt has made him a VERY solid professor. Teaches what you need to know, he can be pretty funny sometimes, exams are ALL from lecture so dont cut. Everyone saying he's hard either doesnt take notes or doesnt ask questions if they dont understand. GREAT ECON TEACHER

Greg has the funniest analogies ever if you're not easily offended. He explains everything crystal clearly. DON'T TEXT! No one knows how he really takes attendance, no roll sheet... i never even opened the textbook. This guy eats, sleeps and talks economics.

Rose is one of the best pros I've had the pleasure, and I've taken allot of classes. His lectures are clear and precise. if you go to class every day, you might not even have to read the book, he's good. Participate in class and don't be afraid if your wrong. This professor really knows what he's talking about. Take his class and you WILL learn econ. Make sure you go to class everyday and take notes. Turn off you cell phones because he does stress on that; if your phone rings he will punish the entire class for it. He is a great professor and he is there when you need him to help.

ProfRose is a fabulous teacher!I took him for Econ302&304 recieved a B.I had to work really hard for! Attendance is mandatory, tests are challenging so prepare to study hard. Does a great job incorporating economic theory/ideas with everyday situations with funny stories. Upfront with policies in syllabus. Makes class participate by reading out loud, then threatens with a pop quiz if you don't read LOL. Don't miss class...he'll drop you but not tell you til end of semester. I thought his class and style were great. He tries to use real world examples, which apparently grate on the "sensitive" folks. The folks who didn't like him...probably lazy. If you study and participate, you'll do fine.

A very interesting teacher, classes are fun to attend, but he is a HORRIBLE GRADER AND VERY UNFAIR! A good teacher should grade on OVERALL participation, quizzes, attendance, tests, HW, but he grades incorrectly. whatever you get on your final that would be your grade! Watch out!

One of the best teachers I have ever encountered. I took his class and he made the subject so intuitive I didn't even read the book and still got an A in the class. He inspired me to major in Econ and was the best prof I had while in school.

Increased grading scale from 85 being an A, to 97 being an A, 95 being a B, and 90 being a C. As 90 percent of the class are tests, you cannot miss more than one question of his 25 question tests. He did this because 3 people were texting during class. Great teacher, not a great guy. Makes blatant sexual jokes towards the girls in class

Rose is strict. Don't be late, and no phones. PARTICIPATION is the key in his class. If class does well, he rewards with easier problem sets and tests. 85% A if no one uses their phone in class. So don't be that d-bag to ruin it for the rest of us. This class was inspiration to major.

This professor is awsome, he explains everything very clear with very logic and real examples. He is actually the best professor in business division. If you want to learn some real knowledge about econ instead of definitions, take him, he is awsome. Not hard to get an A ;)

Greg Rose is probably one of the best professors I've ever had. I was surprised I passed the class with an A without doing much reading. He explains everything from the book very well and makes the subject intersting to learn. He is also very strict on attendance and being on time. I suggest everyone to take him if you actually want to learn.

Greg is a really good professor. I took him for 302 and 304 and I probably read the textbook one time because he is so thourough in his lectures. Econ is a hard subject but he makes it interesting. Don't be late because then he won't like you. And don't miss class because not only will he not like you but you also will get really behind.

This class is extremely important to take and Greg Rose is the best guy to take it with. He's so knowledgeable and presents complex concepts in a memorable way. He's funny! I found learning so easy with him! I did fine without buying the book and got a good grade. But don't text in class or else the whole class gets a dock in their grades.

Attendance is mandatory, and if you're late you're absent, no excuses. He lectures from his notes, not from the book (I only read concepts that were unclear) but you should still get a copy. He's a tough grader, but he has a wider margin for an A.

Mr. Rose is overall an okay teacher. His class is fairly difficult, considering he wants you to "remember" everything he assigns/teaches. Although he grades tough, he does give the students a large range for grades (i.e. - A is 100-85%). He's open for help at office hours; attendance is MANDATORY!

A very good professor. His class is fairly easy as long as you take notes and pay attention during class. He does force minor class participation, but it's almost always used to help reenforce key points.

Greg is capable of explaining the most complicated topics of Econ through an example that the students in the class can relate to. He's very helpful in office hours. He's a very funny guy, always smiling, but tardiness and cell phones are taboo in his classroom! Don't do it! His tests aren't too bad, the homework he assigns prepare you for tests!

A's are 85-100% in his class. Use his office hours. A lot of take home quizzes and participation is mandatory. Exams are half multiple choice & 1 essay question. I learned so much from his class. Didn't use the book much, just to read concepts that were unclear. Highly recommend if you're not a slacker.

Took professor rose for ECON 302 & 304 and his class was great. He gives you fake stories but they make the class interesting. All you have to do is show up and pay attention. His assignments are based on the examples from the class. Most of his quizzes were take home. Show up and you'll be good

Don't be late to class! Class participation is a must, otherwise get ready for a pop quiz!!!! Lectures are interesting and funny as long as you don't get offended easily. Book isn't mandatory, but can clarify parts of his lectures. 1 essay and 25 M/C questions on tests (3 test total) and a final. Oh yeah, keep your cell phone silent!! Great Teacher

I love Greg's humor. He does a superb job at teaching econ with his experiences and real-life applications. Book is not really needed. Just take good notes because his lectures makes a lot sense. His HWs, quizzes and exams aren't that bad if you pay attention ad take good notes. Overall, a very passable class if effort and work is applied.

Overall, a very thorough and straight forward class. His lectures are very understandable and everything he lectures on is on the exams. Book is not even needed so just listen, take good notes, and do the HW/quizzes. His assignments can be hard at times and he grades them strictly but just do them with effort. Also, he will make you fall asleep.

His class was interesting. He explains things very well and often humorously. The homework, quizzes, and exams always aligned perfectly with where we were in the class; there were no surprises. Attendance is mandatory. You don't need the textbook if you pay attention and take good notes. I rented the book, but rarely used it. Definitely recommend.

He is really a knowledgeable and excellent professor. He is witty, quirky, and keeps the class interesting. He moves fast on occasion, but is always available if you need help. He uses a lot of his own material and examples to make the subject easy to understand. He is also quite good on the whiteboard with the graphs to help visualize the concept.

Face it, Econ is dry. This guy really tries to make it interesting. He's got fun stories, easy to understand answers, and he LITERALLY puts all the information you need on the board to pass. If you need Econ, take it from Greg Rose. Do the homework, pay attention in class, and take notes. Study the notes and homework, and you'll pass the class.

Greg Rose is truly the best teacher i have had the opportunity of having at Sac City. He really gives you all the information you need to pass in his lectures and notes, literally just come to class (I haven't missed one), do the homework and you will be prepared for his quizzes and exams. Your grade is based on four exams but you WILL be prepared.

Professor Rose makes a subject that can be pretty dry interesting. He tells a lot of stories and makes the class participate so you stay engaged. He was very clear and the tests aren't too hard. Just don't be late or tardy and don't play on your phone during class. You don't really need the textbook either unless you need extra help.

Greg Rose is the man. Has a kinda unique style of lecturing, where he asks a ton of rhetorical questions and will ask you to repeat things he says--at first I was put off by it, but I ended up liking it. He's pretty funny and makes econ a lot more interesting than it should be.

Professor Rose has a clear and concise way of teaching economics. Take good notes. It may seem repetitive but it's like Karate Kid, he is preparing you for his exams. You will get a feel for them when you take his difficult quizzes. Final is worth 50% of your grade. He is helpful after class and during office hours.

Makes the material seem accessible to students who otherwise wouldn't be interested in economics. Really goes over the basics; helpful for students looking to continue on with the subject (provides a good foundation). Exam topics are covered in class, but tests do require additional studying. Attendance taken infrequently.

Greg has a way of presenting Econ where it is easily understood and very relatable. His tests aren't too bad, just requires studying as usual. Really not a difficult class if you show up, do the work and study. He also made macro econ very interesting for me. And honestly, I don't think I even opened the textbook.

Honestly, he is such a good teacher. He has a great sense of humor. He uses life lessons. He is easy to understand His test can be tricky just study what he says to study. He is a great teacher to have!!

He is a great professor I learned a lot ..I don't think k so you need a textbook. Just don't miss his class, you will easily get A. One of the best Prof for Economics.

Hilarious, interesting stories throughout the semester. Organized, methodical, and REPETITIVE. He really makes sure you understand concepts before getting into specifics. It will be to your benefit to be a fairly strong writer, but he makes his tests doable for those who are not. No pop quizzes, homework (besides reading), or busy work.

Best econ prof at Sac City by far! He is hilarious, uses great examples and is repetitive on purpose because the concepts can be extremely hard sometimes. He really wants his students to succeed! The class isn't easy by any means but if you show up and do all the work, you can pass. His threshold for an A is at 85% cause he knows its hard stuff!

I have to strongly disagree with the negative reviews. Greg Rose is the most concise, knowledgable, inspiring professor I have ever had. If you're like me and it takes you a little while to understand econ concepts, this is the prof to take. Grading scale makes it extremely possible to get an A, and you'll feel like an expert when you're done!

Good Professor, he is really clear, the class is fun, and the best thing you get an A if you are between 85-100. His test are easy if you put attention in class. He tells you to do the readings, but tbh you don't need them if you are in class. I never touched my book. Homework is really easy and can be done in 5-10 minutes.

Professor Rose is amazing and funny, he is great at tying economics to life. He will open your perspective to economics in every day life situations. What he has taught me, I still use to this day. Go see him during his office hours too, he loves to help out.

You MUST take this teacher! I took Rose for ECON 302/304 and I don't regret it. He's lecture heavy & requires you to participate, but they're really interesting. The class itself is hard though, it's not an easy A. I highly recommend reading the textbook before lectures. If you pay attention in class and do the homework, you can definitely get a B.

I really liked Professor Rose. He was really nice, funny and an easy going guy. He really helps you understand such a difficult subject like economics by giving many examples and making the class repeat it. He makes a few inappropriate jokes, but come on guys we are all adults; get over it. I am definitely going to take him for Econ 304.

Greg was fantastic. I really loved his teaching style and terrible jokes with participation. CourseTutor is a must have resource for hands on problems. That and homework really prep you for tests and quizzes. Absolutely no tech allowed in the class room or you'll get kicked out. Try your hardest and make sure you go to office hours with questions.

Professor Rose knows his stuff. Lectures are very clear and he makes the content easy to understand. You can learn everything you need to know (at least in ECON302) from what he gives you in lecture. Just show up and pay attention, you'll do well with Prof. Rose.

Greg is a great econ professor! he is very knowledgeable, experienced and provides great examples. Most of your grade is based on how you do on the exams. Everything you need to pass is from the lecture, didn't even use the textbook. Just know that tardiness is not accepted, so beware when choosing an early start time.

He is a true gem. I felt that I learned a lot from him. He uses real life examples. Read the book, study for quizzes, and the exams. They can be tricky. To bad he had retired after this semester. He is a good professor for Econ to where you can learn the subject.
