This klass was fun, beer jokes, and hookers, learned a lot.
Makes class interesting.
Made class very interesting and fun.

easy, don't even need a book. funny teacher, but you know he makes up some of his material.
was the best class ever. slept alot, learned about his family(really did not want to know) take good notes and u will pass.

He is super funny but his test questions are a little off the wall
Best teacher ever! Really funny and nice, but the tests are tough. Take good notes, read if you want to, and go to class cause he rocks!
Best teacher ever. We watched Monty Python. Tells beer jokes, family jokes, very easy teaching style and informative.TAKE ANY CLASS HE OFFERS! Easy grader, very knowledgeable and helpful.
damn good prof....if you are taking a history class ...take it with him...he rules.he uses real life terminology, and kicks complete arse!!
Funniest teacher i've had yet.. Knows his stuff.... VERY good looking
First off...he's gorgeous. Second off, he's hilarious! TAKE HIS CLASS!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, yes he's funny but he's really annoying and offensive at times. Honestly I don't understand why they let this insensitive man teach a course on understanding terrorism when he cracks "towel-head" jokes in class. Also his tests are too easy and he's full of himself.
Awesome Teacher Who Relates History With His Personal Life. Really Cool Teacher. Take Him If You Get A Chance To
Offensive to the maximum. Offensive offensive offensive. Stand up comedian with no censoring at all.
i had Sausville for medieval history and it was a great class...as far as Sausville himself goes i have to say that he's Hilarious!!!!
Very good teacher, makes class fun and interesting. His tests are kinda hard, but as long as you put in the effort you will do fine. Highly reccomend this teacher.
I have heard alot of good things about sausville before i took his class and now that i have taken his class what people have told me is true. He is a great teacher to learn from.
ABSOLUTELY A GENIUS! FROM POPES TO CHARLEMAGNE, NAPOLEON TO HITLER----THIS GUY KNOWS IT ALL! MOS DEF TAKE ANY OF HIS CLASSES!

He is soo hot and actually makes history fun!
This guy is not only a great teacher, but crazy as well. Wouldn't mind drinking a few beers with this guy.
My favorite teacher at HVCC. Really funny guy, and eay to learn from. Generally seems to know what he's talking about, and tells great stories in class. Definitely take classes with Sausville.
Love his drinking stories XD

He is a good teacher. he is willing to help you if u need it, but he is all over the place in notes. but he makes the class fun and very interesting. I loved having him as a teacher, his test were hard but he always gave extra credit.
funny guy, adhd+
Hilarious guy, could tell you a story about pretty much anything. His notes do tend to be scattered but he always hands out a study guide before each test which are straight forward, and will help any student that needs it.
Great teacher....a little scatter brained at times, very interesting will crack you up all thru out class, but study hard for the tests. VERY TOUGH!!! other than that a really great teacher...i would definitely advise him for a HIS prof. good luck
Good teacher. His notes are a little scattered, but he's always willing to give you help when you need it.
He is a great Pof - his tests are a little hard - I got an A - he is really cool, nice and VERY funny - i love his hair - he is very helpful - if you take his class read carefully your notes before going to the test - also read some of the book before taking the final because not all of the questions are exactly what he gives you in the notes.
I usually daze off in history class but Sausville made it interesting and fun. His tests are a little hard but if you take notes, its very easy.
Great teacher!!! And VERY easy to look at as well!!
Easy teacher, I didn't learn much, his notes are very scattered, tests are hard, but just know all vocab words on sheet.
Great teacher! Lectures are entertaining as well as informative, and tests aren't bad as long as you study (he always has extra credit questions on there too!). Any professor that shows a Monty Python movie in class is just plain cool - and he is! Take this class - you'll love it!
This man is hilarious! I cannot believe it. Every class was like going to comedy hour. History was my poorest subject in school and had the highest average in his class than all of my others. I couldn't imagine another teacher being better than Greg Sausville.

HILARIOUS
Wow this guy is amazing. His tests aren't a walk in the park, but he gives you an in-depth study sheet and if you study, you'll definitely pass. I loved this guy; he was hilarious, engaging, and just a great over-all teacher. He made my summer class a pleasure and I wish I could take another history just to get him as a teacher. He's fantastic!
This class was amazing! Im not into hist, but his passion makes you interested. Hes a great teacher, knows his stuff, and is a hilarious comedian! class was quite entertaining! i looked forward to it. tests arent "easy" but there a mix of formats and the study sheet is golden. TAKE HIS CLASS!! it will be awesome!
Great Funny Teacher... Keeps kids interested... tests are really easy... I didn't get anything lower than a 90 and i didn't study once. He drops the lowest test trade which is nice and he doesn't grade the paper to hard. Overall take all the classes that he teaches.. great teacher.
absolutly love sausville, he's not only funny but he's very well informed and makes learning history interesting as he tells you things your wouldn't hear anywhere else. DEFINANTLY TAKE A CLASS WITH HIM!
This man is my idol. not only are his stories funny, but some of them actually relate to the point he's trying to make. They also help you to remember information for when the rather easy tests come. He is phenomenal.
He's not the prof. for stupid people. If you don't "get" it, it's on you, not on him. Brilliant, witty, extraordinary insights.
HILARIOUS!!!!!!
He is okay. If you take him you will pass, but he isnt the best teacher. I did well but i didnt much care for him. But he does grade with curves so if you just want a good grade he is your man.
He is really funny. His lectures are half about his life which is great and half about what we were really there to learn. Gives out review sheets for exams. On Final exam you can use a cheat sheet, but i still found the final to be extremely difficult. I didnt read the book at all, just studied the review sheets given out. Grades on curve.
Funny guy but can be a prick. Sometimes really funny and nice but flips out over little things like coming to class late and talking in class. Tests were a bit difficult, he gives a review sheet but half the things on it arent on the test and theres a lot of things on the test that he didnt tell you. Overall a very average teacher but a funny guy
He is an AWESOME teacher. VERY funny and a nice all around guy. I HATE history, but he make it so easy!!! As for test the review sheets are pretty much what is on the test. The final you get a cheat cheat, and if you wright the review sheets on the paper you will have no problem. Loved him. Recommened
Loved him. He is very funny and spends half the class telling stories and jokes. He really knows his stuff though. He gives review sheets, but they are pretty useless. Take good notes and study those! Tests are fairly easy. Definitely recommend him for HIST 102.
He is awsome. He decided to tell our class that the greeks were the people who came up with the ****. All kinds of sexual jokes in class. I think he is an amazing professor. He never even refers back to notes he knows everything!!! He is soo funny I enjoy going to t/his class and I hate history. He is honest and wont take any crap.
Sausville is great for laughs, jokes may be dirty but are hilarious nontheless. he is a bit scatterbrained during lecture. his test are very easy, just do the terms!good teacher overall, but i would not take him if you are looking for an intense history class
Professor sausville is an awasome teacher he is funny as hell and kind of cute in a teacher way he really makes medieval history very interasting and this is coming from sombody who has no interast in history i just had to take it and i am exteramly glad i did
He's got a great insight to the places he teaches about. His historical anecdotes are ones that stay with you and can lock in information about a time period. He's funny and your attention doesn't seem to waver unless you are dead tired but even then it's hard when he makes you laugh. He's a fair teacher and expects you to at least make an effort.
He's a great teacher. I learned a lot in the class and had fun. Usually, I would protest the fun part because I pay to learn. He digresses, but the information he teaches is crystal clear. His class was also pretty easy in my opinion. He also doesn't have patience for idiots.
GREAT PROF. VERY FUNNY AND HAS GREAT STORIES. HE TELLS ALL THE DIRTY STORIES ABOUT THE ANCIENT TIMES. THIS CLASS IS VERY INTERESTING AND THE TESTS ARE NOT THAT BAD. I ALWAYS GOT A "B" ON THE TESTS. GREAT PROF. TAKE HIM.
the worst teacher ever all he do is talk about his boring ass life and wife and kids and tell boring ass jokes dont use the book and very races and dont know how he became a professor at hvcc
The best teacher.
Awesome Teacher, teaches interesting things about the times we covered. I will always remember his class. Definatly take him
he is really good
This guy is awesome. He's got great jokes, he's funny, good teacher and very approachable. Overall a great professor. I wish I could've taken more classes with him. Highly recommend him.
Best professor i've ever had. Regardless of how you feel about history you'll enjoy this class. reviews before test, pay attention and you'll get an A.
He is the best professor I have ever had. This is the first year that I have been so engaged in the class. I love history and his stories just make the class better. He definitely makes it worth going to class, i don't know why anyone would skip his class. He's awesome
Sausville was a great professor. The class had a lot of laughs, and he knows that not everybody has an interest in history. His tests are based with the assumption that you're reading the book along with him teaching the material, and there are a lot of terms. Overall hes a very personable guy and grades fairly. Not an easy A but a fun class.
Easily the best professor I ever had at HVCC. He keeps the class interesting even though it is history. If you take good notes and study the terms it's an easy A.
Sausville is the greatest professor I've ever had. Not only is he smart, but he makes the course interesting. As long as you pay attention, you will do well. He's also one of the guys in charge of the HVCC ski club, and he's real fun to be around outside of class.
Love this teacher. Every class is interesting and he knows how to keep the attention of the class. Tests are not bad at all. As long as you study the terms and read along in the book you will do just fine.
Sausville is not only the funniest professor I have ever had, but may be the funniest person I have ever met. He had me laughing all semester long while providing impeccable insight into history, rarely referring back to his notes. That said, he rarely prompted anyone for participation. Reading the textbook was essential. Not an easy A.
Definately one of the best professors I've ever had, he knew how to keep the class upbeat, and teach the material. As long as you studied and really researched the paper you were fine. I didn't even use my textbook. Very easy A. First time I've remembered my history as well.
Prof Sausville is a great professor. Dont listen to the other kids with bad grammar who dont give a crap about their life. He keeps the class upbeat and tangents on his life a alot. Hilarious stories that you will tell your friends as well. First history class ive taken where I actually remember what Ive learned. TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN!!!!!
Hilarious, fantastic, makes things easy to remember, and tells you things you wouldn't learn from other proffs. He has a habit of telling stories about his life though. And his girlfriend. And happenings at his brother's camp. Oh, and he loves Guss' Hotdogs in Watervliet. And ninjas.
I loved showing up for his class! He is a one of a kind guy,and very easy to get along with. He has the best stories around. He is inspirational, and hilarious. Also he is a great teacher, couldn't find a better professor! I need him for all of my classes!
I enjoyed being in HIS 121 with Gregory Sausville. His humor is very off color, but he makes the class fun and easy to learn. An awesome professor who I recommend. A warning though...it's best to bring a voice recorder otherwise you may miss information for his tests (ask him if it's okay first because he has a policy)
Awesome teacher, loved his Medieval History class. Very easy to pay attention and the stories he tells sometimes go on tangents that can last all class but there funny as hell and worth every minute, plus we watched quite a few movies and we got to use a whole sheet of paper front and back as a cheat sheet for the final. He's one of the BEST!
Best teacher ever. He's hilarious and he makes the class a lot more fun. His class is basically a lecture so you have to take good notes, but he writes down all of the important things. Really easy tests too, i definitely recommend him.
Love him! he is the best teacher i have ever had in my life! not only is he extremely funny but he is also extremely knowledgeable and seems to have a passion for what he teaches. he takes interest in his students and makes a boring subject so much more fun
really good teacher, funny, tells lots of stories, makes class fun. definitely take this class
This guy is absolutely a comedian he could and should have his own TV show because he is hilarious. The tests are ok but the multiple choice can be very ambiguous and he lets you bring a cheat sheet for the final but the final exam was ridiculous had nothing to do with the course i took all semester completely off
Great, laid back teacher. Don't buy the book he doesnt use it. Gives no hw other than one paper and grades easily. Tests arent too bad if you just pay attention in class. Makes class go by with lots of funny stories. Lets you take cheat sheet into the final. Dont miss the chance to take this guys class.
None.
He takes Western Civ and makes it fun. He knows the topic isn't very interesting and he does whatever he can to make it enjoyable and help you learn. Don't buy the book, won't use it. Just know the terms he gives you for the tests and do the paper and you'll do well. Most down to earth and funniest professor I've had.
This is the best History professor I've ever had. He's very funny and he really knows his material. He makes the lectures extremely interesting. There is only one 4-5 page paper required for the class. There are four tests, and he drops the lowest one. The class is pretty easy to pass; not much reading is required. Just listen and take notes.
His teaching methods are very relaxed and his class is very enjoyable. He is flexible and willing to work with students who put forth effort. I needed an A and he helped me get it. His lectures are REALLY funny and he swears like a sailor - not "pc" at all, but awesome! Take him if you care - beware if you don't.
This is the funniest nicest prof ever. He is laid back and brings a unique sense of humor and attitude to the class room. If you put in any effort, he'll meet you halfway. His tests are a bit hard, but he drops the lowest. He's very fair and shows Monty Python!! Don't be easily offended - he swears and is "off color" a lot. That's his charm.
Seriously such a chill guy. He is so funny and always telling jokes in class. Very easy teacher, he gives you terms to study before every test and if you just study them you will do well. not really to strict about attendance, but don't show up late to his class too often. overall great teacher and good guy
had him for a summer class and honestly he made the class so enjoyable. Follow along, take notes if you can it will help. Funniest teacher I have ever had. You won't regret taking his class.
AMAZING AND SO FUNNY!!!!! BEST TEACHER IVE EVER HAD!!!!
fantastic and hilarious teacher. he's the msot interesting man in the world.
HILARIOUS AND MAKES YOU UNDERSTAND HISTORY!!! GREAT PROFESSOR!!!!
Awesome professor. Comical, down to earth. Clarifies. Just show up on time. He's not a fan if you show up 30 minutes late every day, just like most professors. Other than that, take notes, do some reading, and you will be golden on the tests.
Going into his Medeival History class, I hated history. I still do, but his class is ladeback and easy. Definately take this if you enjoy funny stories and don't like history!!
Literally the best professor I've ever had at HVCC. His class is like a comedy club hes so funny, but you actually learn history. He's also probably one of the nicest professors here he'll help you with anything you dont understand. He's a pretty easy grader just do your work I would defiantly take a class with him!
Amazing teacher!! Will have you awake and laughing throughout the entire class! He's always willing to help when you need it. He's there to help you succeed and get a great grade in class.
Wow this guy is great. His stories are hilarious and take up at least 10 minutes of the class. As for the actual history he really gets your attention and makes you interested with his enthusiasm. Super easy class as long as your show up
I absolutely loved him. He was so funny and nice. He really wants you to do well. If you show up to class and make a solid effort you will be rewarded. His stories still make me laugh, you get a cheat sheet on the final and study guides for tests. Study them and you will do well.
Really awesome guy. Does more than just teach the material. Would highly suggest taking classes with him.
No homework, straight forward tests, and one paper. Very simple workload. He is so hilarious though, the class flies. He is kind and smart, always willing to help if he can. He talks about his brothers, his girlfriend, and the grove. He's awesome.
Awesome guy, tells lots of jokes, makes his lectures really interesting. Would take him again if I got the chance.
The guys a BOSS!!! He gives you the handouts and all you got to do to get an A is read the terms.
Awesome Teacher! Lectures made the material interesting and easy to remember. One essay, a few tests, and of course a final. Answers any and all questions. I highly recommend this class!
Amazing professor! I always did horrible in history then I had him did amazing. Tests are super easy only had to study and hour prior to get an B. He is really funny tells hilarious stories also. Would totally recommend this awesome professor. I'm getting him again for HIST 101! Best history professor ever.
Good class, but if you don't like stories stay away. Also he has never been on time.
Really awesome guy. Makes the lectures interesting by bringing in stories. He's really funny and tells lots of jokes. Knows his stuff. I recommend him highly
He's great! Makes learning fun and interesting! Super funny! Makes everything very clear. Gives handouts if you read over them, you get a easy A. It'd be hard to fail his class! You'd have to like never show up!
Proff Sausville was a lot of fun and posses a great well of knowledge of the Middle Ages. He is definitely a character and makes history fascinating with his animated personality. CB
Amazing, and funny you should def take his class.
He comes in everyday with a 10 minute comedy routine which is funny but kind of annoying. He only does about 15 minutes of teaching and the rest is him telling funny stories, no joke. Sure he's a funny guy but I'm there to learn. If you didn't show up to the class once and studied the sheet he gives you, you would get the same grade on the test.
Funny guy. Nice break from a typical college course. Some life lessons are shared in his class which may take you further than the history its self. If you want to lear every historical fact possible he is not the teacher for you. If your after a laugh and some history thrown in with a lad back atmosphere he is just right.
first history class at the valley, so laid back and easy definitely my favorite teacher. made history enjoyable since I've always disliked it only one paper and very easy grade. class wasn't mandatory if you had a good excuse.
I had Mr. Sausville for Western Civ 1 and 2, and would take him again if I had to. He is intelligent and well-spoken, he travels often and shares exciting stories of his adventures. His lectures are memorable, his jokes are notable, and he is approachable. If you are sensitive to jokes, try a different professor.
Just a big, funny Irish guy. The history you learn in his classes is quite unique: you don't really bother with too many dates or battles, you hear stories about the craziness of the ancient world and what it would be like to live in that period. The only assignment is one research paper, and his tests are pretty easy.
I had prof. sausville for both my history and he makes class easy he isn't always on time but never really mattered, very laid back environment with good life lessons. if you can get him take him! if you love history and want to learn every little detail probably not the guy for you.
SUCH a funny professor. Very nice. Many tests but if you study the review sheets, you will get into the 80s and 90s. He goes over the brief history. CRAZY stories from history. No extra credit. Final is hard, can have a cheat sheet, and has a huge curve. Definitely take him.
All hail the great God of professors Sauseville. He is the greatest teacher I have ever had in my life. He makes me actually want to show up to class everyday. He is hilarious, his grading is very simple he only has about 4 tests a year that he gives you a cheat sheet for the day before. If you want a nice start to your college career this is how.
No homework, only a few tests including a midterm. Also no paper. He does get off topic a lot but only to tell us hilarious personal stories that can actually be related to the lecture. Tests are very easy if you go to class and use your review sheet provided.
I really enjoyed Professor Sausville's teaching. He's told my class many interesting stories that stick in our brains. His tests are somewhat easy as long as you study the terms off of the study sheets he gives you. Sausville does tend to be quite crude in his language and the content of his lectures, so just be prepared for that.
Probably one of the most comedic professors I have ever had. He makes it very easy to pay attention because he is hilarious and entertaining. He knows a lot about history and if history fascinates you, then I highly, highly recommend that you take a class with him.
I dreaded being stuck taking the infamous western civ, but Sausville made it go much smoother by being both an entertaining and a memorable speaker. Talked about the more ridiculous side of history which helped to make the subject matter more engaging, and easier to remember as a result. Currently signed up for western civ II with him.
He really knew his stuff but when it came to note taking, he was all over the place- literally! He would randomly write down a name then start talking about a different guy then tell you that person's name so the whole time you were really taking notes on a different person. Scattered but smart.
If you like history, he's the guy for you. If you hate history? He's definitely the guy for you. I like to say he talks about history like it's People magazine, and it's absolutely hilarious. He writes down important names, dates, on the board, which you should copy, but talks a bit scattered. You can pay attention half the time and get the info.
If you have to tale Western Civ, this is the guy to take it with! I hated history, but he really puts it into a modern perspective! It makes it easier that he has a story about himself for every person in history.
What wasted talent, this man is knowledgeable enough to work for Harvard, funny enough to be a stand up comedian on tour. Yet he chose to work for Hudson Valley. He is the greatest professor I have ever taken in my life and wish he could teach all of my classes. No I don't like histor.... actually I hate history but loved this class. Take him yw
He is an awesome teacher and person, I had him for history and his tests are relatively easy he gives you a study guide before the test so if you study that you should get an A. I totally recommend him very awesome stories and easy to learn from.
This man is absolutely hilarious and makes any lecture easy to understand. You don't have to like history to be engaged in the lesson. He is very disorganized with his notes. Gave out review sheets before every test and had an open book final exam. It should be mandatory for HVCC students to take a class of his!
Downright hilarious...
By far one of the best professors at HVCC! So glad I finished my last semester with him! Never wanted to miss class b/c he was beyond funny and his stories were phenomenal. Pay attention to his somewhat scattered notes, do the review guide before tests and it's an easy A.
Incredibly enjoyable class. He is hysterical and there will never be a time when you aren't laughing. Although his notes at times are scattered he is a very good professor. No homework and no papers. Only 4 tests, plus the mid term ( cumulative first two tests) and the final (only based on the last two tests). Highly recommend him!!
If you have to take a western Civilization course either because you want to or have to, this is the professor you need to have! You will leave his class laughing from the hilariously funny stories he tells. You NEED to come to class. All you do is take notes, review for the test, take the test, and repeat. THERE'S NO HOMEWORK! He's the best!!!
I'm taking Greg's Western Civ class during the Summer and I absolutely adore him! He goes off on tangents in lecture but all of his tangents apply to what he's trying to teach. Very personable and I love talking with him after class! He gives 4 tests but drops the lowest score and if you have a 93% you are exempt from final.
Absolutely amazing guy. Virtually guaranteed to have your sides splitting at least once a week. I took both his western civ class and his medieval history class. The former was purely for fun, and medieval history was just such a blast. no real need to take notes as he goes over everything you need to know the day before the test, of which there's4
Awesome professor, ended up taking multiple classes with him, loved his stories, pay attention, don't cheat and you'll be fine.
He was very funny, but very very scattered. Im awful at history and honestly could not understand half the stuff he was saying. Maybe get the textbook. Tests are pretty hard. I think he adds points to your average though.
I took Sausville for Medieval History and again for Western Civ. I made sure I got him the second time around because hes my favorite professor at hvcc hands down. His lectures are hilarious and informative. If there is a downside to him its that he jumps around a lot during lecture but if you ask him to clarify hell be more than happy too.
This is the second time that I have taken a class with Sausville. He is one of the funniest people Ive ever met and tells the best stories. Medieval History was an awesome class. He only graded 4 tests, a midterm, and a 5 page research essay. If your average was 93 or above you didnt have to take the final. Do NOT buy the book, we never used it.
History is a terrible subject for me. But Mr. Sausville made it bearable. His tests are fair, and he makes it clear what will be on them. It doesn't hurt that he is hilarious too.
Great teacher. Loves to tell stories that correlate directly to what part of history we're discussing. Mindful of other's viewpoints. Tries his best to educate and be fun at the same time (It works!). More teachers should be like this; this man is a role model for others.
Greg was the funniest History teacher I've ever head. The course was easy. The tests are a breeze as long as you study the vocab. There's a 5 page term paper; give yourself about two weeks to do it and don't cite encyclopedias. Lectures are something to look forward to. Sausville loves history and it shows through his excitement about the class.
By far the best class I've ever taken on campus. Sausville is hilarious the class is super easy and he makes sure you understand everything that is said. As long as you show up and pay attention it's an easy A. He drops the lowest grade at the end of the semester and if you have above a 93% average you're exempt from the final.
Professor Sausville's class is interesting. It is difficult to take notes because he is always going off on tangents but just take as many notes as you can. His tests are not difficult but make sure you look over everything on his review sheet. The tests are multiple choice, fill in the blank, matching, and usually labeling a map.
If you like history, you will have a great time in Sausville's class. He makes every topic fun and he tells hilarious personal stories that somewhat relate with the current subject. If you don't already like history, there is a good chance you will still enjoy this class and perhaps become a fan of history.
Too much off the topic talks. And no good notes.
Sausville is the funniest professor at HVCC. His stories are hilarious and if you dont like to laugh, dont take his class. Although he may get off topic here and there, he brings everything into perspective for tests and is very clear on what would be on them. Easy A!
Seriously my favorite professor of all time. The stories he tells are absolutely hilarious, and even though he gets off topic here and there, most of his stories relate to what he's teaching. As a history major, I found this class to be extremely interesting, but even if you're not into medieval history, I recommend you take it just for Sausville.
Lectures were tough to follow
He is a hilarious professor, his lectures will have you cracking up. There are only 4 tests, a midterm and a final. If you get a 93 or above on the unit tests, you don't have to take the final and your midterm grade gets dropped. Don't buy the textbook, we never used it and there are online versions to look up if you want any textbook information.
hes comical. Goes off subject, lectures are hard to follow, cant really take good notes BUT..... hes a really easy teacher, nice guy, youll get an easy A if you show up the class before the test and get the review sheet. No work or home work, the whole class is made up of 6 tests. very easy, he tells you exactly whats gonna be on the test.
He was great. do not need the textbook. Always laughing and hearing stories of his. made a good use of class time. very funny guy
3 or 4 tests and a final paper is all your average will be graded by, easy A if you listen in class. He gives out study guides which have everything you will need to know for the test. He allows you to have 1 paper with notes on it for the final. He tells many funny stories and his classes are what I most looked forward to. Never bored :)
He is a terrible teacher. His lectures are designed to confuse you, so good luck on tests! Test questions are often trick questions, and who wants to be taught that way? NEVER EVER TAKE HIS CLASS FOR Western Civilization. You will be met with his opinions on a subject rather than facts. If you rather not be offended for believing in God, avoid him.
Prof Sausville makes this class what it is. It's a lot of information that might not care about, but with his enthusiasm and excitement for the information, you too begin to find it exciting. Lot's of reading but spread evenly. Test's are easy and this class is passable.
I had the chance to take Gregs western civilization I online, and it was an easy class. He is very clear with what he wants; however, there is a lot of reading from text books and notes he provides, but as long as you stay on top it is an easy A. I recommend him 100%
Professor Sausville is an amazing teacher. Hes funny, engaging, and helpful outside of class. The quizzes were effortlessly but the tests can be hard if youre not prepared. If you read the textbook and utilize the materials he gives theyre a lot easier. All in all he made a hard subject enjoyable and despite the tests Id gladly take him again
Notes are given each week along with a 3 question quiz based on a short video he posts. Seems really easy, but if you mess up one question, your grade is crap. Make sure to pay close attention. Lots of reading each week in the textbook, but the notes are just as thorough. Tests are given every other three weeks and DB are rare and can up your grade
Hes a very respected and nice guy. He helps you pass if you fail once. Very funny and he sticks the information into your brain in a very easy way. I would have gotten an A but I registered late to his class so i missed couple topics, however, he still helped me a lot on getting that B+ <3
Gives really in-depth lecture notes for his online course. Quizzes are weekly, consist of 3 or so questions from a video. Kind of tricky. Book is recommended, but Crash Course World History got me an A, so do as you wish. Exams are very date/person/place oriented, but it's a history class so go figure. Prof seems nice, I had minimal interaction.
5 tests, a cumulative midterm and final, 2 discussion boards, 10 quizzes, and a research paper. He never responded to emails and didn't give feedback on grades. Dates / book numbers / links were often incorrect in his instructions. I can't say enough about how terrible the class was. Don't take it unless you're a history major and have to.
Greg Sausville knows how to keep a class entertained! He will discuss everything that's on the test in class, sharing some interesting and often hilarious stories. I had him for Medieval History and so many of his stories stuck with me years later. I'd highly recommend him for your History classes.
I will rate him a 5 as he is an amazing professor! His emails are very short. He makes history very interesting and tells a lot of personal stories but gets back on track! He prepares you for exams mostly, sometimes a question you would only get from attending lecture appears. There are not many assignments so doing well on exams are a must.
He is one of the funniest professors I've had. As long as you study the study guide sheet you will be set.
I'm in school to become a history teacher, and I want to be exactly like him. Took HIST101 with him in Spring, and jumped at the chance to take him again. Took his 6-week online summer class so the workload was much more, but he was just as amazing as he was in class. Definitely take a class of his if you can! Very passionate about teaching!
Does not give out any homework only thing you are really getting graded on is Tests, so if your not a really good test taker like me i do not recommend, DOES NOT LECTURE CORRECTLY nothing about his class is interesting. doesn't give any room for extra credit.
Prof. Sausville keeps the class engaging with his humorous anecdotes, though his lectures can be hard to follow. Use unstuck study for study prep, and you'll likely earn an A with the straightforward exams.
I liked Professor Sausville class. He reminds me of a corky dad, with like dad jokes. I personally like the dad jokes, he is very understanding and will explain something if you don't understand it
Amazing guy and I would love to take a class with him again. If you don't find the material interesting it would be hard to pay attention as there's little class participation/discussion. Only grades came from tests, the final, and the midterm. no homework or class work. provides term sheets for tests. Tells a lot of (hilarious) personal stories
Very little homework, and is very hilarious. What stuck with me was how he connected his very interesting life to all of his lectures. I will say that he didn't offer much from his office hours. This professor was very easy in terms very little homework, but that only meant that the quiz's effected grades even more.
I liked his class initially but then he started canceling class frequently and we missed midterms and were made to take it 3 weeks after midterms were over, when I emailed him about it he responded with something that had nothing to do with what was asked.
