Take this course with him online! He's the best!He is very kind, caring and helpful.Just ask for his help and advice. He will surely help you.Everyone should take CMN 279 online,it's way better than in class esp with a great prof like Turko.:)
Great course online. Greg is the most helpful professor I have come across in my Ryerson years. He generally cares about your reports and wants the students to do well. Thanks Greg!
The greatest instructor ever!!!!
I took this course online and he provided many useful comments to improve your eassy. It's not a difficult course, the text is somewhat useless if you already done enough essay from other courses.
He is Great!! He is a fair marker, and he really cares about his students. He is a nice guy and - there is NO text book and NO final exam....I mean come on...how hard can it be?? Highly recommended class and Prof - Yea GREG!
Best prof ever!! Very helpful and easy marker. Extremely fair and NO TEXT BOOK required!! NO EXAMS or TESTS.
HE IS WONDERFUL. THE BEST!!!THERE IS A LINE UP FOR HIS CLASSES. I WISH I COULD TAKE ALL MY CMN CLASSES WITH HIM...
Greg is a great teacher. Very helpful! If you put forth the effort you'll do fine. He'll grade your assignments and if improvement is needed he'll tell you so. Highly recommended. Line up to get in his class. Will wait even an extra term just to get in his class. :)
TAKE HIS CLASS...great instructor. You wont regret taking his class.
Very knowledgeable and helpful prof. You will improve your report writing skills, guaranteed! Start your final project EARLY! :)
if you have a chance to take any classes with him, TAKE IT!! he is very knowledgable, and actually helpful. I also learned something, after a looooong time. do your work early, he will help you get through it. this class is great, only 1 huge assgt, no midterm, no final. take online and enjoy!
THE BEST EVER< EVER< EVER
The best teacher ever! Very understanding and extremely helpful. Has a great sense of humour.
Best Prof ever. Extremely helpful, very clear on what he wants to see on all assignments. Assignments are a build up to final report. No exams!! Start early on your report though. If you can take a class with him, take it!!!
Excellent instructor, great sense of humour, very helpful and most importantly FAIR!!! This is the type of instructors that all universities need!!!!
It has truly been my pleasure to attend his class. One of the best. He is very helpful and makes a dry course very fun. Start early on your report and follow his instructions. He will watch your back. I hope to be able to take another course with him.
the most chilling course!
Greg is a truly amazing professor to have! He is very fair and has a great sense of humour! I have learned a lot from him; it is professors like Greg Turko that make coming to Ryerson worthwhile! If you get the chance, take one of his courses and you'll truly enjoy it!
Great experience. Prof very professional, easy to work with, knowledgable. Would seek out his classes in the future.
Very easy to understand! Loved his class.
Greg is very good. He knows each student by name. His lectures are not boring, he is funny and always joking. I enjoyed his class very much. Too sad it is over(
Very Helpful prof. Works with you to learn. Flexible and easy going. I recommend this prof for any communication course.
I dont know what the previous commentator's issue was with Greg, but I found him to be a great prof...he doesnt seem judgemental, especially since I took the class online. Excellent course, highly recommended!
Great teacher. He actually takes the time to review your work.
Greg is one of the best profs at Ryerson. He tries to help his students as much as he can by proofreading assignments and allowing you to submit multiple times for a better mark.
The best prof around!!! We need more like him.
BEST PROFESSOR IN THE SCHOOL. GREG SHOULD TEACH EVERY COURSE. Friendly and responds to emails very prompt and quick! Greg you deserve the best teacher award! I'm not even joking, this prof is kind and you will actually get something out of your courses. He relates real life events/stories to school work making it much more easier to understand.
Easily one of the best profs at Ryerson! Very funny, and extremely helpful! He will review your rough draft before you hand in good copy. Emails are responded fairly quick. Greg is a prof you must take before you leave Ryerson, you will not regret it!!!
Greg is one of the best profs at Ryerson. I am so grateful to have had the experience of learning from him! He is clearly passionate about his teachings and it shows in his one on one feedback with you. Real life events/stories are used in his lectures which makes them interesting and relevant to discuss. Greg Turko is one amazing prof!
The best professor EVER! The most useful class, this guy works for the gov't so he knows his stuff. He is so nice, crystal clear, and willing to help students as needed. His lectures are amazing and straight to the point. Go out of your way to haev him as a teacher!!!
Greg has an awesome sense of humour and delivers his lectures with funny deadpan observational jokes. It was a real treat having him as an instructor.
Best prof ever!!
One of the best profs at Ryerson! He is extremely nice and is willing to work with students to help them with their work. Highly recommended!!
Really enjoyed working with him, very helpful and effective criticism of work. Definitely one of my favorite professors.
Greg Turko is an excellent prof, professional, and does a great job providing feedback on a one-on-one level. More profs should strive to be like him.
Very kind and approachable. He is the kind of proff that should be teaching every course because of how much he cares about communicating one on one with his students. Would Recommend.
Incredible professor who obviously cares about what he's teaching. Kind, funny and helpful, I've learned a ton in this course! I'd (almost) pay to take it again ;)
Exceptional prof! He is really there for his students, and is a fair marker. Other profs at Ryerson could learn a thing or two from him on how to properly manage a course.
Take it, he is a great professor!
Amazing professor! Would definitely take another CMN course with him again!
By far the best prof I have ever had at Ryerson. He is an amazing prof who truly cares about his students and gives exceptional feedback to improve your mark. I had to take this course because it was mandatory, but I will most definitely be taking another CMN course if he is teaching it. Every prof should take note on Greg's teachings skills!
Very helpful and allows you to submit paper for feedback and then resubmit for final grade. No tests in the course however, several assignments
Greg is great! Extremely understandable and willing to help you with good feedback so you can get the best grade. Didn't put too much effort into the class, so it isn't hard to get a good grade in his course. Assignments are well spread out- not overwhelming. No exams or textbook! He's actually kind of hilarious, enjoyed his lectures...
Definitely one of the best profs at Ryerson. He genuinely cares about his students, allows you to submit multiple drafts before your final submission. No Textbook, No Tests just a semester long report where you choose your own topic. Hes a really great guy and his advice and guidance really made the writing process so much easier for me.
Wish I took day school courses w him when I had the chance! Greg's feedback is extremely thorough and helpful, and he goes out of his way to maintain communication w his students. You can tell he really cares about his students and wants them to finish the course having actually learned something. The best prof I have ever had!
One of the best profs I've ever had! Greg is extremely helpful as he gives you feedback on all the assignments and tells you what you need to work on and how you can improve. There are 4 assignments and no final exam. The first 2 assignments are super easy a's.
Super easy class. No tests or exams just one report you work on throughout the course. He provides helpful feedback and lets you re submit your drafts so there's no reason why you should get less than an A. I did my final report in one day so it was a bit tedious but work on it continuously and it should be a breeze. Overall, excellent prof!
I'm currently in his class now, and he is the most caring and friendly professor I have ever had at Ryerson. He wants everyone to succeed and provides examples of assignments and his slides are useful for assignments and outside class. You can submit rough drafts and he does not care about deadlines as he wants you to do well.
Greg Turko is an incredibly inspirational, caring, and respect professor. Although it can be said that there is no reason why someone shouldn't get an A, work does need to be put into his assignments. You get what you put in. He allows you to submit drafts, reviews your work and provides helpful feedback. He truly cares about his students.
Greg is a very caring professor, and wants his students to do well. He allows rough drafts and gives great feedback to help you do well. He would rather you do well and learn how to write instead of giving bad marks. He's accessible outside of class and always shows up early before class. One of the best professors at Ryerson.
Professor Turko is one of the greatest professors at Ryerson. He is caring and wants his students to do well. He helps your writing skills and tells you what you do well and can improve. Even if you take the online course, you can still get help in person. Work still needs to be put into assignments, but he will help you along the way.
I have done two courses with Greg at Ryerson and my writing has improved tremendously. Greg is a very caring teacher who offers great advice. Because of the nature of his personality and his teaching philosophy, you will work hard to improve your grades to impress yourself and to impress. Additionally, I have never laughed so hard in other class.
One of the best professors at Ryerson. Caring and wants you to do well. Greg is always available for help, and allows you to submit a draft of your report. Also, he allows you to choose the topic, so it has more meaning to you. A genuine and caring professor. If you the course online, you can still come to class an ask questions.
One of the best professors at Ryerson. YOU WONT REGRET
Might be the most caring professor. Professor Turko wants his students to do well and is always available for feedback and extra help. One the greatest professors I have ever had.
The entire course leads up to the writing of one final report (topic of your choice). Greg answers emails quickly and provides detailed feedback on drafts of your report. He was also willing to let us sit in on his in-class version of the course, and to meet with us afterwards if needed. He's a nice guy and extremely helpful. Definitely recommend.
One of the best professors at Ryerson, HANDS DOWN.
he is the BESTTTTTTTT prof ever. I was going through a personal problem, and he was so understanding. He said not to worry about a thing, and that he would ensure I complete the course with a good grade even though i handed in my assignment late, he was extremely understanding, compassionate, and caring. I wish all professors were like him! amazing
Dr. Turko is an amazing professor. He knows his stuff inside out. He gives amazing feedback and makes sure you understand how to produce an outstanding report. Everyone should take him!
He is AMAZINGGGG. I cannot stress this ENOUGH. TAKE HIM. don't even think twice about it. My sister was sick during the semester, he gave me the ENTIRE semester to do the report. Not only that, he GENUINELY cares about you and your marks. I wish more professors were like him, truly inspirational, helpful, and caring. I will always remember him.
There are no words to describe how understanding and caring this Professor is. If all professors were even half as nice as Greg Turko there will be no need to drop courses.
Honestly one of the most genuinely understanding, caring professors I've had in all of my years at Ryerson. I am currently taking his online report writing course but he was happy to meet with me. He also lets you hand in a draft report which he gives detailed comments before the final, which is so nice. Highly recommend taking a course with him!
Greg is amazing because he is always willing to help. You can call, email or meet with him. The reason why I think this course is hard is because the textbook is not much help, anytime I would mention it he would say its incorrect. Speaking with him is the best way to make sure you are on track, which can be difficult if you have other courses.
He's a good prof: he gives good feedback on assignments and is super nice about giving extensions. Textbook is useless. He usually replies to emails on time: USUALLY.
Greg is a great guy and truly cares about you. He provides great extensive feedback and lets you pick your own topic so that the major report means more to you. If you put the work in for this class, you will succeed.
Greg is probably one of my favourite profs at ryerson! I was taking his course online and ran into a bunch of personal emergencies, without needing any explanation of documentation he generously marked my grade as an incomplete rather than failing me. Further more he extended the deadline knowing I was having more personal emergencies. He is a gem!
Probably the best prof at Ryerson. He really wants his student to learn proper writing and sits down and goes over your worth with you. He is very understanding and motivates you to do better. He is also quite humorous, a lovely person.
Greg is the best prof ever. He's so helpful and understanding!
If all professors were like Greg, students would excel + enjoy school MUCH more than they do now. He is VERY knowledgeable, straight forward, gives clear instructions & feedback, funny, so caring & understanding. he cares about you doing well & LEARNING- not strict deadlines. if you're debating taking his course DO IT!!! You will love him + do well
I never had such an amazing and caring prof at Ryerson. I loved how he was able to go through the stuff I didn't understand and helped me clarify everything for all my assignments. He's down to earth and it makes me motivated to work harder. He is kind of a picky marker with grammar and English structure, so make sure you have good writing skills.
He is my favourite professor I have had in my entire four years at Ryerson, and I am not joking. If you have a chance to take one of his classes, DO IT. First of all, this guy has jokes, and he does not even know it. He is super lenient on deadlines, and helps you through each assignment to help you understand and ace his class.
A true gem. I've taken 2 classes with Greg and can safely say he truly cares about his students and is very flexible about deadlines. He is very knowledgeable about what he teaches and is always willing to work with you to help you improve. He is also really funny and I wish I could take even more classes with him!
Genuinely the kindest and most caring professor Ive encountered in my entire four years. Dr. Turko is always happy to offer help, suggestions or even just a joke. To reiterate someone elses review, if every professor was like Dr. Turko, university would be a much more welcoming and enjoyable experience.
These comments were so right! He is one of the best profs I have ever had in my life. He gives you good comments and ensure you are understanding his points. Highly recommended!
I really wish that every prof cared as much as Greg Turko. He gives great feedback and really wants his students to succeed. I really enjoyed taking this course and I really appreciated how he always made sure students were on the right track with assignments! Would definitely take a course with him again and highly recommend!
This course was centred on one major (10-15 page) report. The lectures/modules aren't mandatory, and to be honest, they weren't all that interesting. However, Greg wants you to pass and is willing to help you throughout your report-writing.
BEST PROF AT RYERSON. One report that will take 15 pages and it quite vague so that you can openly do whatever is best in regards to the topic. But honestly what makes this course blessed, is the prof. This is guy is the diamond in the dirt, I don't write reviews but this is just a genuine good human being that wants to actually help. Realest Prof!
If you get the chance, please take a class with this prof ! He is the most caring prof and is a real gem. He wants to see his students succeed and give plenty of feedbacks. He is very accessible and does anything he can do to help. I wish all prof were like him. You will learn a lot in his classes !
Greg is an amazing prof! He wants nothing more than for students do well in his class. He takes the time to speak with you and encourages you to send him rough drafts of assignments so that he can correct errors and let you know what you can do to improve. Try to take him for any course he teaches at Ryerson, you won't regret it!
Cares about students and is interested in seeing you succeed. Assignments are draft submissions so you have ample chances to get a coveted A in the class. He is very accessible and flexible (not deadline oriented). I will take his classes again in the future.
Easily the most caring professor I have ever had. He takes time to email you personally and will check in to make sure you are on the right track. I learned a lot about writing professional reports, emails and writing in general. Highly recommend!
Greg Turko is an awesome professor. I was going through very hard times throughout the semester and he was very understanding and caring. Without a doubt one of Ryerson/TMU's best professors.
Very caring prof who gives good feedback on drafts so you can get a good mark.
Hands down the best professor I have had! Always willing to meet with you to discuss reports before submitting them to ensure you can do well. Highly recommend!
I have never had such a caring professor. He is always willing to help, and will give you his time. He will show you how to improve and will make sure you're on track. Professor Turko almost makes you feel like you are the only student he is teaching, that is how much effort he puts into making sure his students do well.
During the summer, I enrolled in Greg's course. He values accessibility, preferring Zoom chats over endless emails. There aren't traditional lectures; instead, he provides readings. While not mandatory, they aid in assignments. Greg reviews work before submission, exemplifying his dedicated and unique teaching approach. He's truly a "W" professor.
great course and prof! there are 6 major assignments in this class, SEND IN YOUR WORK EARLY FOR FEEDBACK - learned that the hard way. slightly tough grader and very nit picky on small things but nothing too intense. good elective.
Out of all the CMN courses I taken at TMU, I have been receiving straight A's except for this course. He is a REALLY tough grader. I was getting a 3.4 GPA before taking this class and now I will be bumped down again. I literally have given up on getting straight A's because of this course. It has made me completely stressed out.
This course is made up of six assignments, 5 small ones, and 1 major assignment. I found the assignment outlines to be very brief and unclear. He does offer to edit your assignments before submission, however, I still found it impossible to meet his expectations. Would not recommend this course.
I had this professor last semester, and I absolutely loved him! Submitting assignments early for feedback is a game-changer it helps so much. He also holds Zoom meetings to go over assignments, which are incredibly helpful. Can't recommend him enough take him!
The worst prof, over analyzes everything and is a very hard marker, he is helpful but do not recommended taking him at all ever!! None of his courses are bird courses, awful
Dislike this prof. He's a nit picky tough grader. Left a review for this course before but it seems to be deleted now, wouldn't trust the good ones here.
