I loved bro venema!! i think he is an awesome teacher and knows alot about the gospel. he is very easy to understand and gets his point across without confusing the whole class.

Excellent teacher, super nice guy, gooed heart, everything you need to teach religion. Class application is good. I would reccomend him without a doubt. One of the best in the religion department. Go brother V!

Loved this class! He uses a powerpoint everyday, but it's still a good class. He helps you really think about things, like actually applying the principles and making changes in your life. And he's pretty funny. A great teacher!

Awesome teacher! He really knows his stuff. He's funny and so laid back. You can really learn a lot from him. He seems to be mostly concerned about really helping the students and not as much with how he's going to grade them. Don't miss taking a class from Brother Venema.

Bro Venema is awesome! I'd be surprised if anyone leaves his class with any grade less than an A. He is a down to earth guy, and he is not overly religious. This is what his class consists of: Answer some application questions for each class from the reading, do one presentation in front of the class, and write a 1 page final paper.

Really down to earth, funny, very personable and loving. I was struggling with a family issue, so I met with him out of class and he helped me a lot. He really cares about his students and radiates the Savior's love! His class is super easy. He does a great job of relating the scriptures to our times and is as Christlike as any teacher on campus.

He's an easy A. Do some reading, write down some thoughts on i-learn for each class. Do one "insight presentation" - something you liked about a scripture. One page final paper. Super easy but it's a great scriptural discussion each class. 2 thumbs up.

Brother Venema is an awesome teacher. He really knows how to connect with students and he makes his lessons meaningful and he does add some humor. It's really funny when he laughs at his own jokes. All you have to do to is go to class everyday, do the readings and online work on I-Learn, and he does have you complete an insight presentation.

There's a daily journal about the chapters read in the Book of Mormon. If you're looking for an easy class, this is it. If you're looking to deepen your understanding of the Book of Mormon, he's not your guy

The best professor I have ever had. He gets to know you by name and will remember you after the semester. He is friendly and willing to answer questions. He relates the information to real life - it's not just arbitrary information. Honestly, a great and wonderful professor I respect and love.

Greg Venema is the best religion teacher. I enjoyed his class so much, I specifically signed up for his class the following semester. No busy work just for the sake of busy work. You are required to read and come prepared. If you do, you will love the class and do very well. Great class discussion.

Honestly one of the BEST religion teachers I have ever had. I plan to take as many classes as I can from him. His class was a breeze just weekly reading assignments and share one scripture in front of the class. No mid-terms, no tests, and no final. You learned a lot about the BOM and he is a funny guy.

Brother VeneMA is my favorite teacher,. He is legit funny and knows how to keep his class wide awake. He does not do any pop quizzes which is great and he rather you enjoy reading the book of Mormon then feeling stressed. There is no final and grades you on presentation, attendance, and notes

You will want to take this class. I am not kidding it is the best class you will take at BYU-I. I took both his book of mormon classes and got A's in both. No tests and extremely easy. It feels like seminary were grades dont matter and he wants everyone to have an A. Lectures go deep into book of mormon discussion. A+ teacher.

Amazing teacher and friend. You step outside of a university and you enter a spiritual classroom. There will be the kids in the back that take advantage of his "easy" style but be the kid in the front learning from his wisdom and testimony. Allow the effort that would be used for HW to go to your personal change and growth as a disciple of Christ.

Bro. V is the bomb. Great teacher- really intelligent in the field & hilarious. Makes class fun, you do class preps before every class & a quiz once a week. Pretty easy, just busy work. No final- you have 2 group projects: case study & final project. Create your own oral presentation for class, but it's pretty easy. Loved class because of bro. v!

Very easy class (no tests, just take notes and do the readings) and lots of spiritual growth! Venema is so genuine, knowledgeable and spiritual, and cares more that you're learning by the Spirit than anything. He is absolutely wonderful; I STRONGLY recommend him to everyone I know.

If you want to pass this class you must take Brother Venema. He was the best and most flexible instructor I have ever had. The course content is extensive and brutal but it is not decided by just one teacher. This teacher is the reason I passed.

That being said, sometimes his class can be kind of boring and monotonous. I feel like it's the same thing every class. The same comments, questions, etc.

He didn't care about late work that much as long as you did it before he graded it, and he was one of the most chill professors I've ever had. Seriously, take his class. His class was an easy A. I love Bro. Venema! And I definitely recommend him for the Pakistan class. He's mainly a religion teacher, so he was more relaxed in this class. There is a quiz after every class, but he is willing to help out. I wasn't sure what to think going into this class, but I actually learned a lot and have created a personal connection with Pakistan :)

This class has a fair amount of work: pre-class assignments and quizzes for each class. There are also two group projects and 1 individual oral-presentation (which is done online, not in front of the class). No exams or final, just small quizzes and reading quizzes for Malala. Attend class because more than 3 absences seriously hurts your grade.

Bro. Venema is probably the Chillest professor i've had so far in Rexburg. Now don't get me wrong, there was A LOT of reading to do for his old Testament class.. but really, what do you expect? Really fair guy and understanding to issues that may arise. Definitely will be on the lookout to take another one of his classes.

Brother Venema has been one of my favorite teachers yet. His lectures are engaging and he involves the students a lot in discussion. There is a lot of reading for each class but you get to pick and choose the articles you want to read. There are pre and post class quizzes but if you pay attention you will pass. He's also very approachable and kind!

Brother Venema is awesome and unlike most religion teachers. He's more interested in you feeling the Spirit/becoming than in reading a million things/writing papers. There are readings before each class (at most 4 chapters). Rn 1 class is loom so you have all day to watch it. No final and all you have to do is take a 1/2 page of notes each class.

I loved Brother Venema so much. World Religions was super interesting and he made it so fun! There is a lot of reading required, but it's an easy class just requires a lot of work. He is a little quirky but that's what makes it so fun! He really knows and cares about each of his students.

Seriously funny! He also offers a bunch of extra credit that helps with mental health! You just have to read a little before class and then take a quiz to say you did it. Super easy, which is nice because then I can really enjoy the class and discussions. An amazing teacher too! He really knows his stuff!

This guy is one of the best religion teachers that I have ever had. His class is so easy; we literally did not have a single assignment the whole entire semester. All there was were quizzes on if you attended class and read the few verses he assigned. If you need a free 2 credits, take this guy. He is also super funny and caring as well.

Bro Venema is AMAZING! He has you read some scriptures and have an answer to the pre-class question before class, but he is super chill and gives you extra credit opportunities every week (super easy). He is so fun to talk to and really cares about his students. You have to participate at least once (telling your answer to the pre-class question).

In REL 250, every week there is an extra credit assignment where you watch a mental health video. Also, the assignments are simple and easy. All this stuff made me feel that he really cared and wanted us to be happy, and he makes a point to be a little funny. Really love this guy!

Bro. Venema's class was super enjoyable. He definitely knows about the topics he is teaching and even though he is an LDS teacher, he always showed respect for the other religions we studied. Sometimes long materials to read but He also offers super simple extra credit. The 2 "big" things are the paper and the video (neither are too complicated).

My favorite religion teacher thus far. His lectures are great and he knows so much about world religions, he has personal experiences he shares from visiting these places. Grades are based on notes from in class and some basic readings before class. I learn a lot in a simple manner, he answers questions very well and is friendly and easy going.

Brother Venema is hilarious and genuine. He's always careful not say anything offensive when discussing sensitive topics. He answers questions to the best of his ability and helps students feel heard and equal. There's no homework, usually just 30ish minutes of prep work before class and a quiz after each class asking if you did the prep work.

Brother Venema is by far my favorite professor of my college career. I cannot recommend him enough. He is absolutely hilarious and you can tell he cares about what he is teaching and who he is teaching it to. there is a bit of reading but if you just do it you will get an A in his class.
