Gives out notes. Very clear. Corny Jokes
Great Prof. Gives out his notes. Hard class but he made it alot easier.
Great teacher, very interesting classes with many anecdotes.
His tests are harder than expected when compared to class discussions.
Explains things well and gives you plenty of chances to raise your grade.
His tests are really hard - even when I studied!!!!
Great teacher, really funny, BUT exams are very tough. Lots of in-class work
Awesome. One of the best at Grand Valley.
tests were a little difficult, but he grades everything else very easily
great prof, class easy, but tests are impossible even when you study hard
Tests VERY HARD, not sure how class relates to tests.
Tests are nowhere near as hard as some on here say they are. Awesome prof.
Extremely intelligent, funny, tells cool stories, I learned a lot-great teacher!
This is the friendliess proff. you will ever have. He knows his stuff.
study for tests, good prof but he wastes alot of class time with jokes,

Great prof. Better comedian. Take if ya can. Awesome guy
Dimkoff is the man. Just awesome.
Watch out for his tests. they are not as easy as you think. Great Curve though!
great prof, learned alot about insurance, just go to class and look over notes
only take him once, his jokes are the same the, he is fun but tests are veryhard
great prof. he knows a ton about finance and is funny. take at least once
Excellent Prof, funny as hell, class is a riot
good prof. funny guy...lots of jokes in class. study the notes he gives you.
OUTSTANDING!
Tests a little tough. Overall a good prof. Recommended.
Terrible jokes and way too many of them. No real world application of material.
Wastes lots of class time on bad jokes and irrelevant material. Unfair grading scale.
Great Prof. If you're there to learn, you will. He won't hold you're hand if you're looking to skate through with no effort though. True, stories don't always relate, but they keep class interesting.
Great prof, would get out of my way to have him again,he knows his stuff and he keeps class interesting and alive with some jokes!
He is a great teacher and very funny. Definitely take this class. Learn a lot
He's very funny and makes class interesting. Test are somewhat difficult.
Greg is the man. Very personable and funny professor who makes you enjoy and learn a lot. Tests require some studying but it's worth the time. If you need a finance or business elective take this class.
Great Guy!
Great teacher. Funny Guy. Smart... He is writing a textbook for for the class he is teaching!! You must have him for a teacher at least once while at Grand Valley!!
good guy, good class
Great Professor. Very Knowlegable. Highly recommend.
Great prof, class was a lot of fun. Exams are diffucult, so study hard! ! Relates well to students. Take him
funny, interesting, and a great professor
WOW! Prof. Dimkoff is awesome. He only teaches you relevent stuff. The guy is hilarious, he tells such funny jokes. He is always in such a great mood. I would love to take a class with him again. The class isn't bad. 2 assignments and 3 exams makes up the grade. Gives old tests as review guides which is extremely helpful.
He is a Great Prof! The class isn't hard if you go to class and pay attention. He is willing to help in class and outside of class. The exams aren't easy but they are not hard if you go to class and/or understand the material. I would definitely suggest taking Greg!
Gregg is a very knowledgeable professor with unmatched charisma and has a great sense of humor. Often tells jokes in class and makes the class enjoyable, or as enjoyable as it can be. He gives last semesters tests to study from and understands that most of the students are not "Finance" majors. Good prof, and enjoyable experience. Get the book.
Easy class, great guy, but class was usually a snoozer. Took 3 hours to cover 90 minutes worth of material. Hate to rag on a good guy like Dimkoff, but prepare to be bored. Trade-off is an easy A/A- though...
This is one of those classes where the highest grade on the test is a B- without the enormous curve he uses. I would prefer actually learning the material and getting a good score rather than having my grade boosted. The amount of material is staggering and class time is not well managed. Way too many stories and jokes and not enough teaching.
Great Professor. Insurance isn't the most interesting subject, but he makes the class enjoyable. Tells jokes and stories. I was never tempted to skip and it was an 8:30 class! Exams are fairly hard, and the material is tough. But the assignments are easy. If you go to class regularly and pay attention, you'll do fine.
Highest grade in my class on the final was a 108 out of 160. The same goes for all of his other tests. Obviously, something is going wrong here. Either it is poor teaching, too much material, or extremely tough exams. I would avoid.
It's not that difficult to get an A with this prof, as long as you can dedicate a lot of time on personnal work. I was exchange student last semester and got A. It tells a lot on the clarity of the class!
Well organized course. He post notes and old exams on Blackboard. The exams cover the material emphasized in class. He uses lots of examples and uses humor to keep students attentive.
One of my favorite teachers at GV. Very hilarious and you don't really need to go to class since the lectures are useless. Just read the book and look over old exam's. Grade's with a huge curve. Easy A
Prof Dimkoff is FANTASTIC, I took several courses with him and after a Bachelor's an 2 Master's he is still the best Prof I have ever had period. He is the reason I became a finance professional, just superb. Even complex stuff is taught clearly, in a useful way, he is available, approachable, always up-to-date, by all means TAKE HIS CLASSES!!!!
Great Professor, makes class entertaining and very interesting. Is very knowledgeable about the subject and gives the students everything he can to help them do well in the class, if you try its an easy A or B+ and you will leave the class with a wealth of helpful information about insurance
GVSU is lucky to have Gregg, probably one of the best finance professors in Michigan. The guy wrote his own book, if only we had more professors like him. His exams are tricky but if you keep up to date with the material you will do fine and learn a lot.
One of the most easy going and nice professors I've ever had. He takes his time in explaining material and gives great study guides for the exams. Tests must be prepared for in advance as it takes time for the info to sink in. I'd highly suggest him to anybody!
Great professor. He is really funny. I was engaged during every lecture and I made sure I had a front row seat for the show. Loved the class.
Great professor. He is really funny. I was engaged during every lecture and I made sure I had a front row seat for the show. Loved the class.
Great prof.,entertaining and informative with an excellent grasp of the material. requires thorough study for high grade .You will leave with a sense of accomplishment after mastering topics. Interjects humor with sobering finance facts. Highly reccomend !
Dimkoff is one of the best professors at GV. I have little interest in Finance, but coming to class wasn't too bad. Go to class. Seriously. His exams are tough, but read HIS book (he wrote it), and do practice problems. He's always giving answers in class and what questions will be on it. Again, great prof. and a character and a half.
Good prof and interesting class. Its not a super difficult course, I took it as an elective for my accounting degree. Dimkoff is entertaining and educational, I would recommend taking it with him.
Good class. The first exam is probably the easiest, since he grades on a curve, that is the best time to get an advantage on other students. He covers a lot of material from the book he wrote, all useful info. A handful of practical assignments. Good sense of humor, always good for a laugh. Very engaging professor also. I recommend taking the class
Relatively "easy" class. It was VERY cut-and-dry. I fall asleep in class all the time. The professor is a nice guy and curves the exams. There are homework assignments that are super easy to do. If you're not some kind of finance/accounting/business major and was taking this class as an elective...reconsider. Otherwise, it is an okay class.
Gregg is a great person. His lectures can be a bit dry, but he does try to personalize them. He has a lot of experience in the insurance business. He wrote the book so he knows what he is talking about and goes right from the book.
Professor Dimkoff is first off a brilliant person. His extensive personal accomplishments and experiences really make the class more interesting as he uses a lot of personal as well as local news as examples for his class. I would highly recommend this professor and take him again. Funny guy!
One of the best professors I've ever had!!! Gives little homework and hw is easy. Tests are fair. Read his textbook and practice with the past exams he gives you to do well. Wish he taught more finance classes
Hilarious guy, great prof. Doesn't matter what your grade is on the exam, only thing that matters is how you scored relative to the rest of the class -- Leaves half of the class very happy, half very salty. If you have a chance to take him, DO IT! Best prof GVSU has in my opinion. Homework assignments are easy points. He wrote the book, it's good.
Gregg will go out of his way to help you, and on top of that, he wrote the textbook for his course which is above and beyond in terms of detail.
Gregg is a nice guy, very intelligent as welll. Before getting involved with finance he was an engineer! Now that's impressive. Though the material taught in class can get a little dry at times, he always has a funny story or joke that he'll dish out to the class which certainly keeps things interesting. Overall, I enjoyed coming to his class.
Best I have ever had. Looking back at my education at Davenport and GVSU, attaining an MBA, CMA and much coursework towards a CFP he is my favorite. Not easy but if you don't get it you did not ask in class or listen at a high enough level. He was always fair, thorough and interested in my understanding. Had many classes with him.
Dimkoff is a good finance professor. He gives 3 homework assignments that are extremely easy. Lectures are boring. You do not have to show up. Exams are the entire grade and are challenging. You have to read his book. Read and do practice exams he posted and B or higher on exams is easy to get. Nice guy and has a lot of stories. Would take again.
Half of the class time he will go off on a rant, and when we could have been covering more chapters we are now be hide. the way he grades the test are hard and also wished he would have gave more homework to help with my grade. your grade is base off two hw and 4 exams. he also doesn't curve or give extra credit. he will give you a cheat sheet too
he does give you a cheat sheet for the test with the formulas, but doesn't help that all of his study guides have mistakes which will cause you to be lost for the test. It seems like he doesn't check his study guides before he post them he also doesn't use blackboard for grade input. ALWAYS print off the notes before class if you can.
Don't waste your time or money buying the book. barely opened it because he will give you notes to follow an they will have problems on them for you to complete. Gregg is a nice guy but he needs to stay on track and offer more options for grades other than just 4 test and 2 hw papers. test are hard and he is a tough grader.
Professor Dimkoff is the most interesting guy teaching the most uninteresting subject. His lectures are a mixture of funny stories and boring insurance stuff. Whole grade is basically 3 tests (and a couple credit/no credit HW assignments). Tests are pretty hard but he puts the mightiest curve in all the valley on them so it's all good.
The class is heavy in mathematics and Professor Dimkoff works through examples to help you understand. He often gets side tracked during a lecture and gets behind on the material. Two homework assignments and four exams make up the class. His exams aren't easy and he is picky about short answers. Overall a decent professor and I would take again.
Dimkoff is a favorite professor of mine and the personal finance course ended up being extremely relevant outside the classroom. There are several homework assignments, but most are easy A's if you put in effort. Four quizzes throughout the semester and one final. Quizzes and test difficult but there is a steep curve. Sign up for Dimkoff!
Good Professor and very nice guy, but expected us to know a little too much coming into an introductory Finance class
LOVE LOVE LOVE Professor Dimkoff. Wish I could take more classes with him! His lectures are fun and interesting - and he wrote the book himself so it is full of his witty and dry humor. Would take again.
Easy class and somewhat easy exams. lots of questions that are never covered and are definitely trick questions. book is needed in class. four super easy assignments.
Took as an elective (not a finance major). Dimkoff is extremely nice, funny, and reasonable. He wrote the textbook and has extensive knowledge after basically building the finance department here at GV. Every day was a lecture without any participation, which was nice sometimes because you didn't have to make an effort at all. Tests were average!
Gregg is by far the best professor at GV! He really cares about the students and is pretty funny as well. The information you learn will be useful in your outside life. Not a lot of homework and exams are graded on a curve by how well other people did. He wrote the book and you will need it for every class. Take this class!
He is the most fun prof i have had in college. He makes the class super easy and surprisingly fun. You could not fail his class if you tried. Super funny make sure you take his class.
He made this class really easy to do well in. Lectures are kind of dull and he goes off on tangents. He wrote the book, so I'd say he's pretty knowledgeable on the subject. Very smart and very funny. Gives you exams from previous sections to study from. Tests can be difficult, but he significantly curved the entire class.
A solid choice for a prof. Very knowledgeable. Lectures can get a bit off topic with tangents, but enjoyable. 4 exams (200 pts each) 3 quizzes (20 pts each) and 2 homework (25 each). Heavily curved. Attend class. Do the work. Will finish with a guaranteed passing grade.
Professor Dimkoff's class is extremely easy. So easy it's almost a joke. I don't think I understood anything I did and still got an A-. His lectures are incredibly boring and he goes off on 45 minute tangents that don't relate to anything. If you want an easy A, take his class; Just know you're signing up for mindnumbing lectures.
Gregg is a great professor. He would always go off on a random tangent and tell us random stories which was super entertaining. Exams were pretty hard, I thought he expected us to know a little much for an intro finance class. He is a finance genius though, so you are learning from the best
Gregg is truly one of the kindest profs I've ever had. He really cares about his students, and truly wants us to be successful. However, in this class, you HAVE TO READ THE BOOK to do well on the tests. The lectures are good supplements to what you read in the book, but you cannot expect to do well in this class just by going to the lectures.
Professor Dimkoff tries his hardest to help his students succeed. Gregg is the cutest guy and really gives insurance some life. As long as you pay attention in class and take good notes, there's not much of a need to take notes outside of class. I definitely suggest using the practice tests. Your grade is based on your rank within your class.
Gregg is very knowledgeable about the subject and he actually wrote the textbook for the class. You will have to read a lot and tests are very difficult but the class is graded on a class curve which helps everyone. He gives study exams and questions to practice. He is a really good guy and gives lots of financial advice.
This class is not as hard as people make it out to be. You HAVE to buy the book if you want to pass, his quizzes and exams are all based from his book. You dont have to go to class as long as you read the book before the exam you will know everything. He curves the class so as long as you are in the top 25% of the class you will get an A- and up
If you read the book(he wrote it) and pay attention to his lectures(lecture info not in book is on exams) you will be golden. Grade is based on your rank in class, not on your individual exam scores. Great prof who loves to crack jokes. Also, this is information you can take with you in your life and the reading isn't that bad!
I absolutely loved professor Dimkoff! He understands how hard the material is and curves like no other. I technically according to points ended with a C+ but he grades based on rank. I was in the top 10 of the class so I receieved a Solid A! Grades are based on 4 exams and 3 hw assignments! I will say though don't skip this class!
Gregg is hilarious! He takes somewhat boring material and makes it very entertaining. I would 100% take him again.
Professor Dimkoff was a very sweet man. If you don't read the book though you will not pass. He is very hands off but in a good way. I would take again.
Dimkoff is very old fashioned, the whole class is very organized, it is based fully off the textbook which he wrote. He gives clear instructions on what to study from each chapter, and has previous exams and keys on bb to study off as well. His grading scale is weird though, as it is determined off class rank basically.
Professor Dimkoff earned my respect from day one and is one of my top favorite professors period. He brought to life the various concepts and carried out engaging lectures through humor and real life examples. His passion and charisma is unmatched. He is as they say, "one of the good ones."
Gregg is a very kind hearted professor who wants students to do well. He's very passionate and will tell A LOT of stories during his lectures... sometimes too many, as students will zone out and then miss something he snuck into the story about the chapter. You have to buy the book to be successful, and READ BETWEEN THE LINES.Tricky exam questions.
Honestly, I'm extremely glad Gregg teaches this class. For a topic that might not seem very interesting, his lectures and book make the class 100x better. He's extremely knowledgeable and you can ask him anything. Homework is really easy but tests are a little tricky. Read then re-read the chapters and you'll do good on exams. Great class!
Gregg is amazing. He is extremely friendly and very knowledgeable about what he teaches. The exams are difficult because they cover a lot of material and ask very specific questions. However, you will be okay because he grades on a bell curve, so your grade is based on class ranking, with 70% of students getting some form of A or B. Take his class!
I loved finance 331 with Gregg. He is an amazing professor who is extremely funny and knowledgable. He makes lectures very entertaining and tells lots of jokes. Be careful to pay attention in class because sometimes he will talk about a topic, but in a joke format. Read then re read text book and practice old exams and you will do fine!
I struggled taking this professor for an early zoom class due to his struggles with technology and longwinded stories that were hard to follow the point of for class topics. I would not recommend a zoom or an 8:30am class with this professor due to his teaching style if you want to take him.
This was actually 380 and there were tons of work but it is required by the CFP board. ONLY TAKE IF YOU WANT TO BECOME CFP. This is not worth it unless you want to become CFP because there is so much work. However it is not graded super hard
Professor Dimkoff is an engaging lecturer who brings finance concepts to life through humor and real-world examples. The class is structured around the textbook, which can be challenging, but using resources like Unstuck ai alongside the lectures helps with study prep.
