My favortie professor ever! He is so much fun. Tough but well worth it.
brilliant mind, tough but well worth it, helped prepare me for law school and life!!!
Professors like Gregg Ivers is why you come to college. The major grade is a moot court assignment that was by far the hardest and most fulfilling assignment I have ever completed. He has prepared me for college and beyond. Challange yourself for once!

Civil right and Liberties was by far the best class I've taken at AU. Ivers is an amazing professor. I've never studied more for a class, but in the end I learned so much and feel completely prepared for law school. He makes class interesting and fun.
One of the worst classes I have had at AU. Don't like his attitude or his class. His grading style is very poor as well. Class was lecture style. I would try to take someone else or another gen. ed. class if you can.
Prof. Ivers is a great teacher but he makes you work for your grade...imagine that! He knows so much about Const .Law and is one of my fave profs at AU. If he fails students it's because they don't pay attention to his very explicit exam instructions.
Grading seems very arbitrary. He has no problem failing students. He didn't seem to want to help when I went to his office hours. He treats students with very little respect. He is however engaging and entertaining. I also learned alot.
My favorite professor at AU! If you want to learn a whole lot and have fun while you're at it, take this class. It is a lot of work too, but I didn't even mind doing it. Take him for any class you can!
Love him!
My favorite class at AU. He made the subject come alive for me. If you do the work(not easy but not too difficult and not at all busy work) you're sure to get a good grade. Just pay attention to his very explicit instructions! And do the case briefs. A Lot of fun, but he will make fun of students!

Great professor, and a very smart guy! One of my favorite classes at AU, and very easy as long as you've kept up with the work and come to class.
Best professor I've ever had. Very funny, makes fun of all of his students, constantly. If you are an abnormally sensitive person, you will hate him (as many people seem to). Ultimately, he challenges your perceptions and opinions on EVERYTHING, so that you finally arrive at what you truly believe
Ivers is hilarious. He's difficult, but I enjoyed his lectures immensely.
Ivers is your typical AU liberal. He lives in an ivory tower and is out of touch with the majority of middle America..... I also think he is having a mid life crisis,.... he is in a "band". Sad but true.
If you don't like him it means you have no sense of humor. Tough but fair, he lays it all out on the table- no surprises. He doesn't just give out grades he makes you :::gasp:::: work for them. His speaking skills are incredible. An Amazing professor one of AU's best
used every opportunity to chastise me for no apparent reason. worst and cruelest professor i've encountered. wont give help in/out of class, singled me out for very inappropriate personal reasons, not understanding.he's evil he has a place in hell reserved for him next to the devil. DO NOT TAKE HIM!
While he definitely knows his material I find him to be inappropriate in some of his interactions with students/things he interrogates them on. He also does not encourage, but in fact discourages class discussion by asking one student questions for about 15 minutes at a time- allows no interaction between students, only between himself and student
One of the best professors I had at AU and the only class where I did the assignment before the class. First (and really only) professor that uses the Socratic method. Keep in mind however, that in order to hold your own with Dr. Ivers you need to: a. have an opinion, b. state your opinion clearly and c. have a sense of humor. Dr. Ivers rocks!
Ivers is a genius. If you don't like him, you are probably too sensitive or unable to find the most important aspect of intellect: self deprication. A rapier whit surpassed by Oscar Wilde alone.
Yeah, he's rude.. inappropriate...picks on students... but he's also HILARIOUS, and class is never boring. and he's knows what he's talking about. so make sure before you make a comment you know what you are talking about. or else he'll school you. take it!
Pain in the ass. If you ask a question he'll give you an answer to 30 that you didn't ask. His textbook is great but he's a bad professor. He's especially bad with office hours.
By far the best professor I have ever had. The most stimulating and knowledgable professor at AU. If you can't take the heat, don't take the class.
Ivers never takes attendance, yet class is always full. No "A" by BSing;"A" if you READ.Think before you speak! Take Notes! Luckily he won't waste time with stupid questions but good meaningful discussion. I learned a lot/realized I have a lot to learn. His only problem is obsession with baseball/lack of love for Football. (sub for 215 ClEG req too)
Is it bad that I want to be Ivers' groupie? Seriously, he is the most entertaining prof I've ever had. Additionally, he knows his stuff (just search the web to see how many con law profs use his text) and infuses his interest into the class. I find myself watching the news and thinking "wow, that's just like this case we read in ivers' class..."
If you do not take one of Ivers classes I do not know what you are doing at AU. By far one of the best professors ever at AU.
Awesome professor. He's hilarious and makes class loads of fun. He picks on students, but here's a tip; if you speak with some confidence he won't come after you. Oh yeah, and it helps to know the material. Good guy, who repsects the hell out of people who speak their minds INTELLEGENTLY.
This professor is so hot and so hilarious I wanted to go on a date with him every day after class. He even told one of my friends that she should forget about law school and just work at Hooters! It was a joke thats just the type of guy he is!
I took him for three classes and an independent study. Only teacher that actually prepared me for law school. If you take him you need to have a sense of humor, understand sarcasm, and know what you're talking about IF YOU TALK IN CLASS WITHOUT BEING PREPARED YOU WILL BE SORRY. Happened to me the first time I ever took him. Best teacher ever.
If you don't like him, you either have no sense of humor or are stupid. He's the type of professor that you go to college for.
Scary smart. He has this look that says, "I know what you're thinking, but you don't know what I'm thinking." And a great guy. Completely down to earth.
he is incredibly intelligent and witty. his class is very entertaining- there's a lot of work, but the class is worth it. plus, he's fabulously handsome... i'd date him!
I came into the class expecting the best. I didn't quite get that. Ivers is entertaining, his class was just about the perfect 2nd semester senior class, but we didn't learn that much. Watch carefully & see how he treats males differently than females; he has a macho thing going on. To be fair, his other classes may have more structure. Take once.
Great class! Some people do not get his sense of humor, and the insecure may think he is picking on them, but his class is certainly enjoyable. Learned a lot too!
Very smart, very clever and very quick. Guys want to be him and girls love him. Teaches you to be independent and not look for handouts. None better
He is a decent enough professor, but really is quite self-important.
Greg Ivers epitomizes the "cool" professor. Young girls drool over his every word and spend most of class fantasizing about one of AU's few profs with tenured-DILF credentials. Unfortunately he knows it, and spends most of the class reveling in his rock-star status. Ivers has a LOT to offer, but sadly keeps most of it to himself.
Yes, he is good-looking but Dr. Ivers is also very smart, very interesting plus has a great sense of humor. The best professor I've had in the three colleges I attended. He has a completely original style. Very accomplished but you would never know it from his personality.
Don't expect to learn anything other than what's in the reading. And do the reading or you'll fail and he'll make you look like an idiot. He expects you to know what you're talking about. Nothing is better than watching him tear a new one of someone who makes a stupid comment. If you can take his jokes and give some in return, you'll survive.
Don't tell him you hate baseball or you're from Philly. People complain about his heinously liberal stench but the people who complain about his bias affecting their grades are the ones who weren't going to do well anyway. Seems like its more important to him that you support your argument then whether or not he thinks your argument is right.
I thought that whole playing favorites thing would end in college, but not with Ivers...he doesn't pay any attention to you if you don't make that list, and he's extraordinarily arrogant. Yes, he's funny and yes, he's brilliant, but he can also make you feel like you're about 3 inches tall.
If you want to learn about baseball, golf, hockey, rock and roll, random music trivia and other randomness take Ivers. I know more about ths guy's personal life than I do the Bill of Rights and our rights. He is full of himself, and he thinks he's funny. This class was a waste of time and money. AVOID IF AT ALL POSSIBLE!!
Prof. Ivers (I know you read this), perhaps the reason your classes are always half empty is because all of your students have realized your "lectures" are a waste of time. We are in college to learn, not to listen to you reminisce about the days you were once "cool". AU should refund students who have taken your class.
Ok listen up. Professor Ivers is one of the best professors at this University. If you want to actually LEARN about the way government and the legal system interacts and have fun at the same time TAKE HIS CLASS. He is easy to talk to in office hours and always willing to help. Yes, he can demean you to feel small so DON'T MAKE A STUPID COMMENT!
He is the reason why I am a political science major, and his class is the reason why I have decided to concentrate in Law and Politics. DARE I SAY MORE?
I like how Ivers preaches responsibility in his syllabus and then proceeds to enter grades 2 days past the university wide deadline. I also like how he spends more time on his blog than developing a lesson plan. Most of all, I like how he forces students to speak in class but then proceeds to cut them off 5 seconds later in order to prove a point.
If you're looking for someone to challenge you and make you think, Ivers is the guy for you. Do not expect to take his class and cruise. He leads great discussions, so be prepared to defend your opinions.
He does raise some interesting points in class and his lectures help you with what he expects on the tests but the majority of time in his classes are spent off topic or making fun of a student and he plays favorites.
Think David Spade from PCU meets "Kent" from Real Genius. With a touch of Napoleon complex. And beware, he has his favorites, and everyone else. He plays the drums for liesure and invited the favorites out. Also, if you don't like the mean version of the Socratic method, better pass if you can. I managed to glide under the radar.
Prof Ivers is as advertised. Smart, challenging and prepared to make you look stupid if you lack understanding of the material and a cogent manner of presenting it when called upon. He expects a lot but his approach to teaching the material works and makes you realize that things are not always what they appear to be.
Professor Ivers keeps students' attention extremely well because he is knowledgeable and passionate about what he teaches. He also makes fun of himself and the LSAT every chance he gets. I would HIGHLY recommend taking him every chance you get.
Direct quote from Gregg Ivers' syllabi, "I do not subscribe to the modern corporate (and university) ethos that the student is always right. Students are here to learn, and teachers are here to teach. Assume that I know what I?m doing and focus on the learning component of class." HE IS INCREDIBLY RUDE TO STUDENTS. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
The only class I opened a book for in college because he makes you read and attend class to learn. My parents pay for my tuition so I don't care about learning, but Ivers won't let me waste my money. Good guy.
If you hate being in classes with students who raise their hand every two seconds just to hear themselves ramble, this is the professor for you. When you make a comment, you're expected to be able to defend it, and he will play devil's advocate until the cows come home. That being said, he's intelligent and a little biased, but a FANTASTIC teacher
Had him for GOVT 545 as well - a man who will challenge you, and always hold your attention in class. if you think independently and contribute you'll do fine, but he will very obviously not respect you if you are intellectually lazy. very focused on civil rights in his classes. a tough professor but one of my favorites at AU.
Wanna learn? take his class. Read the material, analyze it and be ready to argue. Never a dull moment.Fun and very challenging. You will walk out of his class a better thinker.
I LOVE THIS GUY!!! He is my most interesting and extremely intelligent human being. If you are not mesmerized by his wisdom then you will defiantly be in tears from laughing so hard due to his keen sense of humor.
I like challenging classes and Professor Ivers definitely delivers. This was not you average civics class. He really wanted to study the political character of the USA. Between Federalist Papers and de Toqueville, he likes to emmerse the class in the text. He is extremely unabashedly liberal, and he can be demeaning to non-liberals or theists.
Everyone's harsh ratings were spot on. you will learn nothing you don't already know. He goes off on tyrants for the entire class period and he will pick random students and question them for close to 20 minutes. You pay 5k for a class to sit and listen to him listen to his own voice. Miserable professor & miserable class. Look at AU's ratings too!
There are certain professors you should take prior to leaving AU. Dr. Ivers is one of them. College is supposed to challenge your views and make you think, and Dr. Ivers is a master at fostering discussion that make you do just that. He isn't your typical "lecture" professor, and he holds each student accountable for their opinions. TAKE HIM!!
Iver's was always respectful to me and I did relatively well in the class. HOWEVER, I think I was a lucky one. Ivers is extremely disrespectful to several students and will drill stupid questions just to get at the stupid. Run away while you can.
For students who want to challenge themselves, their beliefs, and their style of thinking. For those who actively participate and act on their feet, Dr. Ivers is more than accessible and willing to help you work for the A.
Favorite prof at AU. He's not afraid to challenge your ideas, liberal or conservative & thrives on debate. This class is not for the weak, you have to think on your feet constantly but will prepare you for law school & real life better than any other professor. He's always willing to meet after class even just to debate court cases, mandatory expr.
My class with Dr. Ivers was the worst experience of my college career. If I have any advice to give it's DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. the only thing you will learn is how jazz effected the civil rights movement regardless of if this matters to your class subject. He will give A's to anyone who he likes and the rest he will fail. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS
NEVER EVER EVER TAKE DOCTOR IVERS CLASS. He will treat you like an idiot and not respect your personal beliefs unless they match his. What's worse is that he makes fun of students in class. He is by far the worst professor I have ever had.
Professor Ivers is a terrific at what he does. He questions the court cases beyond it's general meaning. He makes you question your own thoughts. He always picked on me in class. Although I didn't mind, some people might. I expected a little more teaching from him but other than that he is great.
Memorize the cases and pass. Don't memorize and fail.
Great professor, but much like the other reviews he loves to find students and picks on them. Get ready to defend yourself and your opinions, but he genuinely wants the best for you. Only has a midterm and a final. Lots of long off topic lectures.
This is the second class I've taken with Ivers and he just gets better and better. His lectures can be long-winded but he tries to make the material easy to relate to. His use of metaphors and everyday life makes Con Law so much easier to digest. Easily my favorite professor at AU.
I was definitely wary of taking a class called southern civil rights with a white professor, but he is genuinely passionate about this topic and all it entails, and it shows during his lectures! With that being said he lectured for the entire 2.5-hour class which got boring at times.
Definitely an intimidating guy- don't piss him off. Otherwise, go to his office hours and he will love you. DO THE READINGS. Buy the books on Amazon for a few bucks it is worth it.
Totally unfair. If you have a group assignment he will take the word of the first person as to whether the group was good or bad. Further, he is loopy liberal and having a midlife crisis. He favors women.
He provides good feedback and very responsive to school events. He dedicated a whole class to just talking about the racist incidents on campus. Grading is fine but Spring 2020 only had one exam.
If you are not taking a class with Professor Ivers you are missing out. When classes switched to online in the spring 2020, he was one of the most organized and responsive professors. He genuinely cares about his students and wants you to succeed. He is intimidating, but once you get over that he is a great person and an awesome professor.
There is not a man at American University more hard-working, more knowledgeable, or more compassionate than Gregg Ivers. Take his class, and prepare to learn a LOT. Great sense of humor, boundless wisdom, unmatched enthusiasm. You can't go wrong with Ivers, trust me on this one. Just don't say anything bad about the Atlanta Braves.
There is Ivers, and there is everyone else. Brilliant, accessible and cares about your education. The people on here whining are the exceptions to the rule. He's won about every major teaching and scholarship award AU gives. Don't let the lazy and bitter deter you. You learn more about the civil rights movement than you ever knew.
I cannot recommend Professor Ivers more. He is one of the most well-informed, progressive, and invested professors I've had at this school. If your goal is to walk away from a class feeling as though you've actually learned something, this is it. He makes the class fun, he makes it engaging, and he makes it mean something.
Very smart and real world savvy. A true intellectual but makes it real. Honest and direct. Great wit. A white professor that Black students can relate to - rare at AU. Learned a ton.
The Gregg Ivers Experience is not to be missed at AU. It took me two years to get a class with him but it was worth the wait. A brilliant guy who can really open your senses. But as down to earth and approachable as it gets. Great professor, better human - I will miss him, his life experience and what I've learned more than anything about AU.
Great professor. Led me to change my major. Really makes the cases we study interesting.
I have had several excellent professors in SPA, but Prof. Ivers is on a different level. Incredible depth of knowledge, yet far less technocratic than some other professors. Communicates very well. One of the few professors I had at AU that I believed cared about what I thought and encouraged me to express myself. Great sense of humor as well.
I've taken three Ivers classes and am taking my fourth this fall. Fantastic professor! A genuine AU icon!
The absolute best professor at AU. If you don't take a class with Ivers you are missing out. He genuinely cares about his students and has even helped multiple students find jobs postgrad. He is an amazing person let alone professor and has so much experience learning about the subject matter he teaches. I have never had a better professor.
Truly an excellent professor. You want to do well because he so passionate and engaged about the course material. Also, for such a respected AU professor Ivers is remarkably accessible outside of class. If he sees you on campus somewhere he'll always stop and say hello and ask how you're doing. Genuinely interested in you as a person.
My first class with Ivers and I will say this - he is the most put-together professor I have had in my two years at AU. Always prepared, excellent use of visual media and an excellent teacher, not just lecturer. He knew all our names by the second day. Challenges you and builds your confidence at the same time. Special professor.
Great professor who wants you to succeed. He is one of the major professors I have had who have had a genuine impact on me. Clever teacher who gives interesting assignments. His discussion boards actually have students engaging with each other. Take anything he teaches, sometimes hard to get in his classes.
Ivers is really funny and sarcastic. I can see how some people may not like/get his sense of humor but I always enjoyed his class. I did fairly well on both the midterm and final exams (the only two grades that make up your final grade) but he must have curved it at the end. Take good notes and you will do well.
Great, great professor. I attended an AU recruiting event in high school and met someone who told me to take Ivers for any class he taught. This was someone who graduated in 2000 or close to it. He defnitely opened up new ways of seeing and understanding the world. I'm graduating this spring and my converstations with him I will miss the most.
Teaching style unlike no other professor. You need to pay attention because he is very good at engaging you without realizing that he is picking your brain. Relates very well to all students. Promotes great learning vibe. If you want to take a lot of quizzes Ivers may not be your guy. You will learn A LOT though.
He cares a lot about his students and makes a genuine effort to connect with them and incorporate them heavily into class. He is very knowledgeable about the topic (athlete activism) and it is a joy to come to class: it's fun, informative, and focuses on the students and their perspectives.
Personable, super smart and funny. Took this class because I had to meet an Honors requirement, and it turned out to be the best course I've taken in college (Athlete as Political Activist). Attentive to students needs and gives you a chance to be heard. Unique teaching style that is hard to describe. See for yourself.
Professor Ivers is a class act. I had some personal issues during the semester and he could not have been more accommodating and supportive. His discussion board questions are amazing and got the class really engaged with each other. Super organized and very sharp - love his sense of humor. Always had time for anyone who wanted it.
Honorary Brother. The GOAT. End of story.
Ivers is literally the best professor at AU. He won the teaching award this year. My first class with him and all the praise is right on. I talked more about what I learned in class outside of class than any other class I had taken at AU.
Prof. Ivers is the most interesting professor I've had at AU. He brings together so many different ideas in his courses. Excellent lecturer and discussion leader. Also puts up lecture notes and power point presentations on Canvas so you have the material and can concentrate on listening and not note-taking. Never to busy to talk outside of class.
Deeply knowledgable about the subject matter. Passionate and caring. One thing to know - you are graded on discussion posts and and a class project that you present at the end. If you are someone who needs/wants a lot of graded assignments you should not take his classes. If you want to focus on learning and independent thought Ivers is the BEST.
Xcellent professor. Knows his stuff so well that every class feels like a conversation rather than being talked to. Wants to bring out the best in each student. Ivers is more challenging than hard. Not a ton of reading you do have to think about the material and his questions deeply. Approachable and very normal. He is also a great dresser!
Everything you could want in a professor. Super smart and accomplished and well known on campus but most accessible professor I have ever had. Fun to have a conversation with - he's funny and interested in you. Class content is very interesting and relatable. Dynamic lecturer and great at stimulating discussion that manages TO STAY ON POINT.
Super cool, interesting guy. You have to be on your toes for sure. You will learn a lot! Fun to talk to outside of class. Highly recommend!
As good as it gets at AU. Fantastic lecturer, takes an interest in every student. Excellent at getting you to relate your experience into thinking about subject matter. Definitely does not put up with nonsense, though he's a very relatable guy. Emphasis on learning vibe - if you want a lot of tests you should look elsewhere.
Pros: Great professor! Takes the material seriously but not himself. Knows when to use humor to lighten the mood because a lot of the material is really heavy. I have learned a ton so far (southern civil rights movement). You will get what you put into the class. Con: Atlanta Braves fan, doesn't like football
I would legit take a bullet for this man. He is so smart and genuinely a great person. He teaches in a way in which you don't realize you're learning (because he presents info in a way that makes it feel like a convo and not a lecture) but then when you look back on it, you're like ‘wow, I really have learned so much'. One of the best AU has
As good as there is at AU! I learned more in this class (Equal Protection) than any other class I have taken at AU. Things definitely get more challenging as the semester goes on. Gave incredibly detailed feedback on our moot court project, all constructive. Creates a great classroom environment that inspires you to learn. Super cool guy too!
Professor Ivers was great! Bit of a quirky dude but has so much knowledge & really cares about his students. Reach out to him, show you're interested in the material, and you'll do fine.
Ivers is an AU icon for a reason. His classes were the most interesting and well presented of any of the classes I took at AU. Came early to class and went around talking to us about a range of topics before getting down to business. A genuine intellectual who uses his knowledge to help students open up their senses. You will learn a lot!!
This class was very interesting, and Professor Ivers was an amazing professor. Most of the class is a mix of his lectures and class discussions. He also makes it clear that he rather have us learn than worry about grades. The class gets a little hectic when theres the crunch to finish the final project, but it all works out and he grades fine
Ivers is next level. His focus is on teaching and learning, so you are not blasted with memorization or stupid assignments. I wish I had an opportunity to take more classes with him but grateful I got the chance to learn from him. Always available to chat. Treated us like adults. It was a great experience. Wants to know what you think and listens
i kinda got screwed for the final bc an essay for another class. amazing dude, loved his class, memorable. best prof at AU by far. can't recommend enough. i actually enjoyed going to his class. he told us the time of how he got arrested in ga during the civil rights protests. did i say he's my fav prof?
Absolutely deserving of his AU rockstar status!!! Passionate about the subject matter and transfers that to students. Great with Canvas, returns emails, will meet you to chat anytime anywhere. Always prepared for class and super-organized. Good-natured man w/great sense of humor and quick on his feet. Doesn't miss a thing!
Professor Ivers brings a unique blend of humor and expertise to the classroom. With a strong focus on engaging discussions, his teaching style inspires students to actively participate. The course material is challenging but manageable, especially with the help of resources like Unstuckstudy.
Prof. Ivers is what I always wanted in a professor. His classes are engaging encouraged me to think about the questions raised outside of class. Encourages students to share their views but also doesn't hesitate to challenge us. Always fair and the trademark wit helps keeps things loose. Really smart but grounded. Always helpful. A must take.
Dr. Ivers pours his heart and soul into every class. A very passionate guy but never gets overheated. You don't really get grades until the very end but I was never really stressed about it. Brilliant lecturer and engaging. Highly recommend.
Easily the best professor in SPA! He makes an effort to care about all of his students and has so much knowledge on the topic. Overall a great guy and a laid-back class where you will learn a lot.
Professor Ivers is a true gentlemen. He is so knowledgable and engaging that his lectures are never boring and he deeply cares about his students and their experiences. He is accommodating and a rare find where he genuinely cares about the development and holistic education rather than loads of assessments or being strict. One of a kind.
Yknow sure he's a great lecturer and all but I can't give any professor who gives bad grades alongside zero feedback all semester a good rating here. Like cmon I can't learn anything if you don't tell me what you think I did wrong.
Prof. Ivers is the best professor hands down I had in four years at AU. Brilliant man who knows how to connect with students. More than accommodating to me during difficult moments. You have to do the work and make a genuine effort but you'll be rewarded in the end. To learn from him was an honor.
Took this class, The Athlete as Political Activist, as an elective, thinking it would be fun for my last semester. It was and so much more. Ivers will make connections that you never thought about. It turned out to be one of the best classes I took in four years. An iconic professor who will give you what you put into it!!
Best experience of college! Ivers is a walking history book and has a very original teaching style and approach getting the material across. Don't try to fool or BS him - it won't work! Outside of class one of the most interesting people I encountered in my time at AU. Certainly in any conversation about GOAT AU profs!! Heavy respect.
Excellent professor! Great lecturer, discussion leader, and does it all with grace and class. The humor and sports talk are added bonuses! Don't expect to skate by but definitely motivates you to keep up and do the work. You can tell he really enjoys *teaching* not just talking.
Literally the best professor in SPA. You need to take him before you graduate
One of the best professors at AU. Definitely take this professor if you ever get the opportunity.
One of the few classes I've taken at AU where I felt like I was learning rather than stressing over tests and dumb assignments. Not hard in the sense that you have to do a ton of work but challenges you to do your best work. A legacy professor with so much to share. Don't miss out if you can get a class with him!!
Genuinely the best professor at AU. It's my last semester at AU and he has taught me so much.
the best prof in SPA you have to take him
Prof. Ivers is the best professor I had in my 3 1/2 years and I'm not even a poli sci major. Creates an ideal environment in the classroom so you can focus on learning. Talks to every student one-on-one before class or after and is sincere is wanting to know you. Just an amazing experience!! Don't miss out if you can actually get a class with him.
Ivers is an amazing professor on so many different levels! You will learn a ton and the great classroom vibes make you want to engage and do your best work. For such a "big name" prof on campus he was the most accessible and friendly professor I ever had. Never doubted he wanted me to succeed and "coached" me to do the best I possibly could!
Ivers is one of the genuine superstar professors at AU and does not disappoint! A very friendly, open person who will teach you more than you thought possible. The assignments are relevant and always interesting. The opposite of every poli sci nerd you ever had in SPA. Loved interacting with him.
