A First year teacher (fall 2003). Pretty easy but you can tell he is inexpirienced
He did not seem very confident about what he was teaching.
I was lost on the second day! The guy bites at teaching! If you can teach yourself from the book, I recommend him, but if not, drop it and take Math Models.

I think that he is very helpful. He explains things on a simple level that's easy to understand.
He's a good teacher! Tests aren't too hard, and he explains things quite well. Can be pretty funny at times as well
He is a really good teacher. His quizes and tests are very easy and he makes himself available for questions. He likes to joke around so he is not boring either!
This guy sucks! He has no idea what he's talking about. He makes more mistakes on th board than the students do. He makes himself avaiable for extra help. He really is a nice guy, he just can't teach well. Also, he wears sandals all year along with Hawaiian print shirts!
He is SOOOOO easy! I got A's on his tests and i know nothing about math!

Spends a lot of time explaining something you don't understand; sometimes rushes during class 2 explain a lesson. Willing 2 help during his office hours and stays overtime. Easy 2 make an A if you do your HW, pay attention, and ask questions. Doesn't trick students on tests. Don't skip class!
He is very funny! I loved his class
Very easy class, great teacher, and sometimes funny. If you put forth the effort, you'll do well.
A little confusing at first but it gets better and easier.
He was an easy teacher, but he made a lot of careless mistakes as he was teaching. He treated us like middle schoolers. Other than that if you pay attention and do the homework, you'll get an A.
He is great and not to uptight. If you do your homework there is no way you couldn't get an A. If your not understanding something he is very willing to help. If everyone scored bad on a test or quiz he will usually throw it out. But don't expect to get a
I suck at math and this is my second time taking it cause the first time I had a teacher that didn't speak English, so I think he is a great teacher! He really does know what he is talking about, and if something is confusing you or you got it wrong, he will do everything to help you! He gives extra and partial credit! He is awesome!
great teacher..
he is a good teacher just a little confusing. he seems to be a real nice and layed back guy. if i could i would try to get into his class.
he is my favorite teacher!!! he explains things very well!!! and he's cute :)
he seems pretty cool and layed back, and its funny to see him screw up on the board. but sometimes he rushes and has difficulty explaining some stuff. but then again i do suck ass at math. so if ur good at it, then take him. otherwise if ur me, make sure you're on top of ur stuff.
He is a lot of fun and makes the class enjoyable.
He was always willing to help you understand everything. He was funny and I enjoyed the class.
He is a really great professor and would recommend him for 1101. He is really easy. All you have to do is go to class and do your homework and ur chances of getting an A are good. He is also funny too!!!
This guy is such a good teacher. The best math teacher that I've ever had. Make sure you go to class though because if you have perfect attendence you don't have to take the final!!!
If you go to class the chances of passing are high. he seems to be a little confused at times and he is not willing to work with you on your grades...you either pass or fail. He is very excited about math and you better be too if you want him to like you. stay ontop of homework and attendance though mainly and you should pass
Mr. Velatini is a great guy! His class was NOT easy, but I think for the first time I actually understand what I have learned in math. He's a great teacher when you actually listen to him and study! He makes a few mistakes every once in a while, but he's human and he's a good sport about everything. He's also got an amazing final exam policy!
Take him!! For a math teacher he is extremely helpful and easy! If you have perfect attendence or all A's on the tests, then you can exempt the final!
This class was difficult but Velatini was fair.
I thought he was a great Professor. He was willing to help or stay after any time you need him too. Very fair. If you study you will do well. I dont really like Math and I faired pretty well. Funny guy
Mr. Velatini is a great teacher. I have never taken calculus, but have he makes everything very clear and gives you every opportunity to ask questions and get help. He tries to make everything apply to real situations in the business world and to make sure you understand. I would highly recommend him. He's awesome.
If you have a hard time with math, I wouldn't take him. Tends to answer questions from a single student in his class (blond, bimbo type), and mostly ignores everyone elses' questions. Assignments are easy if you understand the material. Can exempt final if perfect attendance, or A's in all tests (3).
Always has time for students before or after class. Good sense of humor. Very helpful. Sometimes stays on one topic too long with troubled students. Needs to move on and let students use the math lab for tutoring or meet after class.
I would avoid him. Strange. Kind of a good teacher, if he likes you...
Mr. Velatini is the kind of teacher that you feel you could hang out with outside school, he's really chill and funny. However some of his test and quizes are not straight from lectures, he throws a few curve balls every once in a while. His policy of excempting the final if you have perfect attendance and a C or higher IS SWEET!!!
Great teacher! I don't know if this is still the policy, but when I took math models, if you had perfect attendance or got all A's on the tests, you could exempt the final!! Do the Homework--it's an easy A.
He is NOT a good teacher if you are not naturally good at math. He gets frustrated when people ask too many questions and 20 out of 34 people in my math models class received a D or an F. His final exemption policy is nice though if you can pass. It is possible, I made a B, but very hard.
Velatini's a nice guy. He explains stuff well and he's rather amusing...he doesn't like to teach formulas, though, so if that's the way you learn math, well...He takes forever to grade stuff and he might lose what you turn in.
If your really good at Math no problem, but he is a good teach, makes it interesting, williness to help, but good luck he is always surrounded by other students. (Always).Do the homework,it counts as a quiz grade sometimes. Although, what you go over in class may not be on the test, test are hard, I did all the homework, tutored, and barely passed.
Very funny guy. He does get annoyed when people start asking questions which isnt helpful. Takes forever grading stuff and even loses stuff. Funny man and always was helpful outside of class but if your not good at math then i recommend taking someone else
do not take!!!! TAKE ANYONE BUT HIM! Vey nice guy, not a good teacher. I am natuarally very very good at math. i think I knew more going into the class. He assigned problems out of the book for hw every night and it was a peice of cake. But he throws tons of curve balls on the testsand quizes. As i was exceeding on the hw i was failing the quizes.
He's such a wonderful teacher. If you're bad at math, you may want to take a different teacher, but the way he explains it was very easy to follow for me, but everyone learns differently. He's funny and really cares about your grade. He'll occasionally give extra credit. Definitely take him!
I loved Mr. Velatini! He is a great teacher who really wants his students to understand. I had his Calculus class, and I felt it was great and easy to understand. Homework and attendance are not necessary but definitely recommended! If you work with Velatini, he will not let you fail. He is really nice and very helpful.
Great Teacher! Pretty easy classes, but helpful.
Great teacher. Class was fairly easy overall
Expect webassign to teach as much as, if not more than, he does. I almost never looked in the online text; personally found the webassign tutorial videos to be better guides. He's a nice guy and will explain things more than once if asked.
He is pretty good, but I've had better teachers. He doesn't collect homework. His quiz are ok, not hard if you do some homework problems. Test are hard, because he puts problems that the class might not have gone over. So yeaaa. Up to you. Good luck.
according to here i took him because it said he was good....but his class was just awful the only major grades are the midterm and final which in my opinion is the worst way to teach a math class. there were quizzes every week that kind of helped but webassign was the main "teaching" method. nice guy but bad teacher
Great teacher. Very patient and explains everything thoroughly.
He was extremely helpful and has a great sense of humor. I definitely recommend his class. I have heard horrible things about other Brief Calculus teachers. Take him!
I loved him! His class is extremely easy, and he is great teacher. He explains things well, is patient when addressed, and very lenient with due dates. Don't be afraid to suggest things, he usually agrees!
Mr. Velatini was a very enjoyable teacher. While Calculus is never exactly easy, he managed to make the class fun and was excellent at explaining concepts thoroughly. Strongly recommend this class ifyou have to take calc 1!!!!
He is a great teacher to have if you love math. He is always willing to help if you don't understand the material and you have many ways to stay in touch with him
Mr. Velatini is awesome! Class isn't mandatory, but show up and you will learn. He has a methodical, clear way of teaching so there shouldn't be a problem, IF YOU PUT YOUR MIND TO IT. This is calc/stats: its not gunna be the easiest. So don't take frustration from a tougher class out on a professor who really does an amazing job! I took 2400 & 2040
Such a good math teacher! He gives weekly quizzes that really impact your grade and the questions come straight from the homework. So if you have any questions over the homework, he'll go over them before the quiz! He also gives a study guide before each test! TAKE HIM!!! You have to put work in, but you will definitely learn some math!
Super easy and he is helpful if you ask and show interest in his class. Definitely recommend him even if you aren't the best at math
Pretty easy math class. Have an occasional web assign assignment, but teacher is super helpful and he's a pretty funny guy especially at 8am. His tests aren't too hard as long as you study and he allows you to bring one page of notes to use on the test. Highly recommend him.
All you need to get a good grade in this professors class is diligence. He's entertaining, friendly and always accessible when you need help. Highly recommend!
If you're good with math then this class will be easy for you. If not, good luck. He doesn't do a good job of explaining things so if you don't catch on, you're stuck. You do get a cheat sheet for tests and can be eligible to exempt the final. Weekly web-assigns.
If you're lazy you won't do well and if you don't show up then you won't learn. I hadn't been in a math class forseveral years and I did great. It takes work and he won't force you to do it, it's up to you to be the adult. He makes himself very accessible for help and his quizzes are straight from the homework.
Tests are what you learn in class. Show up, study a little and you'll make an A. He clarifies and wants his students to do well.
Velatini is the best. Easy A, doesn't take antendance. I never went, and still got an A. Weekly quizzes aren't hard at all. Tests are what we do in class, he'll give a study guide! He's funny so that's cool. Webassigns every week.
Awesome professor! He says on the very first day that quizzes are based on homework and tests are based on quizzes, so just do the homework. I do not understand why people found that so difficult. He is an excellent calculus teacher because it can get pretty confusing at times. Going to class is essential, but that is a given with a math class.
Mr. Velantini was awesome! One of my favorite math teachers by far, and I'm terrible at it! He made the material easy to understand by incorporating real life examples. Definitely one to take!
The class and assignments never seemed hard- until the test came. I always got 100s on my webassigns (which there are a lot of) but I didnt do as well on the tests. Get ready to go out on your own to learn everything about a subject
He's a great professor. Make sure to ask any questions about homework and webassign at the beginning of each class. There are 3 tests and a final. The tests are hard so study, study, and study. Even if you're good at math, study.
I love Mr. Velatini, he is by far my favorite professor in Mathematics. If you ever need help, he is always available. He makes everything easy to understand, which is great for non math majors. Plus, he is pretty cool. He plays great music in class and tells great jokes to keep you awake.
He was a great teacher, I would take him again in a heartbeat. He was very clear and if the class wasn't understanding he would take extra time to clear up any confusion. His tests are based off of the weekly quizzes and the quizzes come straight from the homework in the book. Overall easy class if you're willing to put in a little work.
Velatini is the best math professor I've ever had. If you like real-world examples rather than abstract math, you'll get more of them than normal in his class (he was once an engineer); he goes through things slowly enough that most will get it the first time around. If not, just ask questions and he'll explain. Would definitely take him again.
Velatini helps you, but you must do homework and attend class. He often changes webassign due dates and is very understanding. Very lenient grader on tests if you know material overall. Exam reviews are just like tests, final is straight forward, but you must study/practice problems. Taking again for Calc II!
He is a great professor and although he can be a little unclear during lectures, he has no problem seeing you in his office. Super nice guy and super helpful.
He is a great guy however lectures are all over the place and confusing. He is helpful during his office hours. His test are very hard and I never did well on them. I wont be taking him again since his teaching style is not how I learn.
Fun, nice guy. Very helpful and gives opportunity to do better if you bomb something.
Great teacher for students who are not normally good at math. knows a lot and can relate it so everyone understands. pretty easy quiz every few classes, he tells you about them and reviews beforehand. TAKE NOTES IN CLASS and you will be fine. Don't miss class or you will miss A LOT.
I HATE MATH! but he made it relatable, interesting, and fun. even if you don't like/understand math he will make it work. he doesn't mind going over something if he loses you. OH and i took this class over the summer so it was at an even faster pace.
he is the most helpful to me one-on-one, but if you go to class everyday and pay attention, you will get an A
He's pretty good at explaining things and his class is easy enough. I'm pretty saltly over the fact that I made a 97.3% on ALL of the test other than the final, and obviously I prioritized studying to other classes. I got a high C on the final and a A on everything else and received a B... He's never in office even during office hours.
He is a great professor- won't leave class until everyone understands what he is teaching. He's very chill, but beware- that can mean pop quizzes! The tests and quizzes aren't hard, just make sure you understand all the concepts. The only homework is some launchpad assignments and those can be tricky since they're on things he didn't teach you.
He makes class interesting with his humor. If you come to class and occasionally due the homework it's not hard. It's just a basic math class with lecture, quiz, then test. If you meet certain criteria you can exempt the final! Definitely would recommend!
I took Dr. Velatini over the summer for Calculus 2 and he was really helpful in helping us understand the math. However, this can be easily exploited to keep from moving on to new topics and we did not finish all of the material. He has quizzes often but they are never a surprise. Also very helpful to other transient students like myself.
I thoroughly enjoyed this class. He isn't afraid to make the class laugh and be himself while also making sure you understand statistics. This teacher is very respected because he is very knowledgable upon what he teaches. (and he really has a passion for it which makes any student inspired to learn)
I took pre-cal in highschool so that definitely helped. His style of teaching is to write a problem on the board and explain how he got there. You must do your homework to understand the material and do well on the tests.
Dr. Velatini would come into class late every single class, if he even showed up. His teaching style is to introduce material by jumping into problems and not explaining the concepts first. You have a quiz once a week and it's from the homework. He is not accessible outside of class AT ALL!!
I had Mr. V back in 2015. His style is to work a problem out on the board then give problems to students to practice. Overall, he is one of the best professors I have ever had. He is always willing to help and makes sure that you understand the content. He even helped me with another class I was taking (2040) . I still keep in touch. Love him!
Velatini is okay. He doesn't post grades into D2L and rarely gives back the quizzes, so you really don't know what your grade is. Some of the material in the class can be challenging and he did his best to help us understand it, but if you didn't understand you were just out of luck. Do good on the quizzes and tests and you can exempt the final.
He's a great professor. If you do the work (which really isn't very much), you will exceed, as most students do not and therefore slow down lecture. He is very forgiving with grades, often giving extra credit even when it is the fault of the students. Don't be afraid to ask for help. He may roast you though!
Velatini is a great teacher but you have to go to class to learn. He teaches everything straight off the board. He is willing to explain and even use his office hours to help you. DO THE HOMEWORK. Webassign and the problems from the workbook are used on quizzes and tests. Easy grade if you work for it.
cool guy but isn't very organized. Lectures aren't organized and he rarely knew what he was talking about. He always confused himself which confused everyone else. Didn't know my grade the whole semester, he basically waits until the last 3 weeks of class to start grading everything.
I struggle a LOT with math & I feel I'm doing just fine with this professor. He answers questions clearly and genuinely wants to make sure the class understands. He can get frustrated but he quickly realizes that we are learning this material for the first time. Webassigns can be difficult. Quizzes and test are not bad if you study the material.
Velantini is definitely one of my favorite professors. He's very funny and tries to make class interesting. His class is easy as long as you show up and pay attention. He gives a quiz every week and optional homework. The tests are very similar to the quizzes and worksheets he gives. I highly recommend him!
Mr. Velatini is really funny and nice, but a bit disorganized. He won't officially upload your grades until the end of the semester, so it is difficult to know your grade for the class. You don't use the textbook and he teaches from the board, so it's important to go to class. As long as you pay attention and don't skip, you should be fine.
Mr. Velatini is awesome! I was terrified to take Statistics and ended up LOVING this class. I genuinely enjoyed coming to class and it went by so quickly. He can be a bit disorganized sometimes and the textbook is completely useless (make sure you go to class!) but I would totally recommend him to anyone and would take him again myself.
Mr. Velatini is funny and easy to get along with. In addition, He allows plenty of time for makeup work and sets aside time to explain things. However, he is disorganized. I struggled so much because he was just as confused with what we were learning as we were. He never gave us direct grading feedback until the final three weeks of class.
Communication was a real issue with this professor. He promotes open communication with him in his syllabus and announcements but sending him emails rendered useless. All homework is online, along with a proctored midterm, a final, discussion posts, and quizzes. This class is mainly self-taught and there isn't much instruction from the professor.
Although Mr. Velatini is a great guy, he is a HORRIBLE teacher. He makes the lectures so confusing that he often ends up getting confused on what he is teaching. Does not grade half of the work that he gives in class. Extremely snarky towards his students. Office hours are pointless because he makes you feel dumb for asking questions. DO NOT TAKE!
Course is pretty easy and homework is online. 3 exams with a cumulative final and some quizzes. Not a difficult professor but a lot of the work is done on your own. Often hard to get in contact with outside of class (doesn't always answer emails / not always in office hours)
If you are a math person, Mr. V is the professor for you. He is really funny but doesnt explain things the best. I learnt most of the material from the Webassigns and the online textbook.
Mr.V is so funny but is SO disorganized. He didn't put all of our grades in until a few days before the final so it was difficult to know where you stand. Easy enough class and he does prepare you for tests well. Sometimes he got confused during lectures which confused the class a lot. If you're familiar with algebra, you'll do great.
Professor Velatini is a funny guy, don't get me wrong. However, his teaching style is not straightforward and he gets off track. So if you are not the best at math, or don't pick up information quickly I'd advise you steer away from his class. There were 4 exams (3 were 15% and the final 25%), quizzes (20%), and Webassign homework (15%).
I took him for an online course and I found it to be very easy to learn. Many in here claim that it took him a while to update the grades but since our class was online I received mine quickly.
Took this class online over the Summer of '2020. Most of everything is thru Pearson MyMathLab, with a few discussions thru D2L. If you work on the practice quizzes and keep at the homework until you get 100% you'll be okay. Professor wasn't as accessible as others I have taken and the majority of the work is done independently.
Had to drop his class mid semester. He's very disorganized and the due dates on assignments can be very confusing. He makes the class content harder than what it actually is. He's a great guy tho but he lacks the qualifications for teaching this subject.
Velatini was not good at responding to emails. I took this class online due to Covid and he did not teach at all. He provided power-points and things in order to "teach" but they did not help at all. His tests were on lockdown browser but no webcam. ALL tests and quizzes have multiple attempts so pay attention to what you did wrong.
Professor V is a terrible teacher. He never lectured, had unreadable PowerPoints, ignored emails, was never present for office hours, and was very inconsistent with grading. I taught myself the entire course because he did not even attempt to be a teacher. To any students that are looking to take him, DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS
He's a genuinely hilarious, likeable and personable professor and a good lecturer. That said, we had around 12 things in the gradebook total. Only TWO of them were in during the last week of class. Very frustrating. Little feedback, and extremely disorganized. Poor communication. Had absolutely no idea if I was failing or killing it until the end.
Doesn't answer emails, whatsoever. Had maybe 2 things graded the entire semester until the last week of class. Had to report him to the math department in order to get in touch with him. VERY disorganized. Barely any lectures, taught myself. Had no idea what my grade was until the week classes were over, when he decided to finally put grades in!!!
Fun and nice person, but not the best teacher. Very bad at grading and giving feedback. Very hard to get in contact with him and get help. I had to do everything myself in the class.
Decent guy full of jokes, but cannot teach. Extremely difficult to get into contact with. Doesn't reply to emails until weeks if not months later, and doesn't know how to work the technology used in class. Doesn't grade things in a timely manner so I have no clue my grade in the class and there is only 5 days left.
Absolutely terrible. Does not reply to emails, graded every single assignment the last week of school, and just does not know what hes doing or how to teach it. They are taking a new approach to stats, and it is using a coding program which is extremely difficult to understand. Other Proff. hold office hours where you just get answers for the work.
This was the first year they tried teaching statistics through coding, and it is awful. Velatini doesn't know how to teach code to kids with no background. Takes forever to grade so you never know your grade. He gets frustrated when we don't understand what's going on. Learned no actual statistics, it was all coding. very confused when teaching.
Its hard for me to say something bad about Velatini because hes such a good guy. However, hes a truly terrible professor. You may get an A in this class but you will have no idea why because you wont learn anything unless you teach it to yourself. Also this class is built on computer coding so its a pain in the ass and barely relevant to stats
IF YOU WANT A STATS CLASS DO NOT TAKE GREGG.. spent the whole semester teaching ourselves coding because to be frank, Gregg cannot teach worth a flip. He knows his stuff. Gets upset when you don't understand how to use the Python system. Very nice guy and funny but hard to reach. Half the time the coding system did not work :( grade will suffer
Professor Velatini has a heart of gold. This man is very kind and has a wonderful sense of humor. Though Statistics is not exactly exciting, he made learning it enjoyable. Make sure you attend the weekly lab help sessions as they are crucial to understanding the material. He brought us donuts on the last day also :)
While he doesn't answer emails, if you go to his office hours or ask after class he will answer your questions and genuinely wants you to pass his class.
He is average. doesn't get much teaching done in class. If you want to understand for a business perspective then take someone else.
This is the second class I have had with this professor and the second time I have dropped his course. He did not communicate with our class at all, and gave very little instruction and lesson help. I think he is teaching too many classes to be a good professor. Every time I looked for a math class he came up in each category many times.
He is a nice professor, but his teaching is not great. Most of the class did not really seem to understand what was going on and he would get frustrated at us for not understanding. I had to use outside sources after every class to understand the material. If you're proficient at math you might not have much trouble with him, but if not good luck.
I am consistently horrible at math, but I liked the way he taught my class. He was a tough but fair grader. I went to his office hours almost once a week and he was always willing to help me. Definitely wouldn't have passed the class without the extra help, so don't be afraid to ask!
He's an okay professor but I did not sign up for a coding class and he did not make it any easier. He's not very helpful and he gets frustrated when we don't understand what is going on.
Greggory centers his class around coding, which is definitely not what I signed up for. If it weren't for the help sessions I probably would have dropped the class. He will get mad at you if you don't know what is going on so just try to pretend like you do. He's pretty cool just not a teacher I would personally reccomend.
He's a good guy, bad teacher (at least for the CSCI class). Unless you already have skill in computer coding, don't take. You WILL be stressed.
Dr. Velatini is great. Super funny and engaging guy, and he was always able to explain concepts in more than one way to help students understand. When helping you with troubleshoot your code, he guides you to figuring out what is wrong and how to fix it, rather than just telling you, which actually helped me learn the content. Highly recommend!
DO NOT TAKE. I got an A in the course but this man is so unorganized its not even funny. I have had to email him, which he barely responds to, almost weekly because he puts in zeros for assignments I completed and turned in on time. He even gave me a 100 on an assignment and randomly changed it to a 0. VERY UNORGANIZED AND HAS NO CLUE WHAT TO TEACH
Velatini is great at teaching, not so much on administration. Almost half my homework wasn't graded until after the final, but I found that if I came to class, help sessions, and office hours, I learned everything I needed for a high A. Most hate the coding part of the class, which I understand, I just found if I studied it was fine.
Pretty 50/50 professor. This was the second course I have taken with him. Teaches at fast pace, doesn't spend a lot of time on each topic, hard to communicate with outside class, never came into class with a lesson plan. He was fine and it is very possible to make an A, but it won't be a cake walk.
Professor Velatini is very bad for CSCI he doesn't explain what he wants us to do and isn't reachable outside of class. Many times he has been confused by his own instructions and didn't know what he wanted us to be doing. The content itself wasn't too bad but he expects you to read his mind. He doesn't grade things until the last week.
There was an "in class" tutor, but he still didn't have office hours and never answered by emails that I sent concerning by grade in the class. There was Pearson homework due every Sunday that took awhile. Tests had many questions that were difficult and nothing like the homework.
He is decent at explaining the material, but if you don't catch on fast enough, he gets upset. He will also take up "classwork" as a quiz and if one person gets something wrong, then he docks the whole class points. He put in a zero for one of my classwork grades because I was absent, even though I emailed him about a family emergency. Have fun!
I loved this class. The course content overall was easy and the professor is an awesome guy. He's very lenient on grading and almost every week class participation on Fridays was optional. Midterm and final are split into an in-class and take-home portion, the take-home being generally harder but a lot more time to work on it. HIGHLY recommend.
If you can get a different professor for this class, DO IT. this professor never responds to emails at all. He will get mad if the class does not talk at all and make the entire class do "class work" as quiz grades. If anyone missed the question, he would dock points. I only got an A because of my brother who helped (he's in high school still).
I don't know why people are giving bad reviews for this guy, he was great for my class. All his tests are multiple choice with 2 attempts, it is almost impossible to fail. Weekly homework with unlimited attempts. Weekly quizzes were the only thing that I struggled with as the software is just annoying. Honestly just show up to class.
A very funny professor, if you like math or have a basic knowledge for comp sci it is a fairly easy class. If you do all the homework then the tests will be easy.
I took his class only because it was the only available one for me to take. I was in one class for about 45 minutes before he yelled at the entire class for not talking to each other and not understanding the material on the QUIZ that he assigned after teaching for 20 minutes. Not sure what was up with that but I dropped this class the same day.
Dr. V was a phenomenal professor and genuinely a great guy. I've never had so much fun in a MATH class before. If you are extroverted and love to engage in lectures and lessons, this is the professor for you. He does care about how well you do and wants to be there for help. He always makes sure everyone understands the content as well.
He was a great professor. His class was moderately hard but he teaches very well. You have two attempts on tests and get a sheet of notes! He is super funny and a really great guy. We sometimes had pop quizzes but they were normally very easy and we could work together. Great class!
Professor Velatini is a super caring guy and as long as you show an effort he's willing to help you any way he can. The class itself content-wise is fairly difficult but he does great lectures and is very informative. Attendance isn't taken but I would try hard to make every class or you'll be behind! I highly recommend him!
I cannot recommend him any less!!!! If you need to learn this material just choose someone else. He acts as though he forgets he is a teacher. He mixes due dates constantly because he forgets to assign things. He is an engineer NOT a math teacher. He gets angry that people don't show up but teachers directly from the (online) textbook.
He is all over the place. He gives online homework and barely teaches any of what is on the homework. He is unorganized and does not come to class with a plan or structure. When he teaches a concept he makes up the simplest problems to work through together and when you get to do the homework its nothing like the problems from class.
Professor V is a caring guy who wants you to succeed. While the content can be tough, his lectures are informative and he's willing to help if you put in the effort. Using Unstuckstudy alongside the textbook can be a real lifesaver. Definitely worth taking his class if you can.
I took him for python stats, and I think he took attendance once or twice. A few pop quizzes. Quiz heavy at first but they're easy. HW and maybe a lab every week. midterm and a final, but you're allowed a cheatsheet on both. Everything is online. Honestly he's kind of boring so paying attention is hard, but he cares and tries to help his students.
Has no course plan, comes into class with zero idea of what we are doing. Spends 50 minute lecture on one problem that he is unable to complete. Cannot answer student questions, unaware of what the homework assignments contain, doesn't answer emails. Tests are nothing like the homework and does random quizzes in class. DON'T TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!
Computer science for scientists and engineers Fall 2024. I have never been good at coding or computer science but the guy was actually hilarious. it was never a dull moment. He is very patient when you ask questions, but not dumb questions. He's not afraid to tell you that you're dumb, but will say it in a nice-ish way. Hw 24/7. textbook is $72.
Professor Velatini gives me dad vibes. He will tease you in class, but not in a mean way. Calculus is hard, but he genuinely wants you to succeed in his class. All of his tests are online and proctored. He will randomly do activities in class for a quiz grade, so I wouldn't recommend skipping. Also, you WILL get behind if you do.
He was a great professor; the class material itself was hard. I have been told by people that took him and other professors for this class that he was the best teacher for it. Only 1 homework and quiz each a week and about 3 or 4 test in the semester. He cares a lot and makes himself available out of class. Although don't ask dumb questions.
I struggle with math and somehow made a B in this course. I didn't learn well through his teaching style but there will be a lot of time in class to mess around with the program you'll be using. I never took stat in high school but this course was definitely not what I expected. He's a nice guy and is open to answering any questions you may have.
Very nice and charismatic. If the class is quiet and not participating he will have you do a pop quiz. Decent amount of homework and some can take a long time. Exams are proctored but you can have a sheet of notes/cheat sheet, front and back, and they are all multiple choice.
Took attendance for the first week of class then gave up...? An odd fella but smart. Super sarcastic and does not communicate well on email. You have to remind him to put your grades in :(
Pretty funny but also a little disorganized. Gave decent feedback but he grades too late (to the point that you're uncertain whether you passed or failed). Midterm and final are split with an in-class and take-home portion (With the take home portion being harder). Not bad for 1371, but it is not an easy A and would require a good amount of work.
Really funny guy, but he kinda goes off on tangents if you don't enjoy that. However at the end of the day he gets done what needs to be, and if not, he will move the due date or remove the material from the tests. He's pretty understanding and a nice dude. He made pre calc as easy to learn as it could be
DO NOT TAKE HIM FOR STATISTICS!!!!! He is an amazing professor who is caring and loves to make jokes and interact with this students but his statistics class is all coding. If that's what you're into then go ahead but I much rather have taken a regular stat class than take this coding class. He'll also swear it's not a coding class, but it is.
Mr. Velatini is one of my favorite teachers. He teaches difficult classes but really focuses on making sure we understand the material. He can and will read your face and he knows if you get it or don't. His tests are fair and the homework is important. 10/10 Math teacher.
I would say that he is a good teacher and that he try's to make the class as simple as possible.but it is a hard class, and he does not respond to emails and you have to remind him to put grades in. I will say that he is a very fun guy to talk to after class and this office hours are helpful.
Calculus is quite easy if you remotely paid attention during high school-- and this is light Calc! He's super funny and definitely gives off dad vibes.
