Mr. Allen made math not so much a dreaded subject. He was helpful, informative, joked with the class on occassions and was extremely fair. He lectured which seems rare. I highly recommend him for math and enjoyed his class very much.

This is a hard class and takes up a lot of time, because you have to do a lot of homework and can't miss class or you'll fall behind, but Mr. Allen makes it awesome. He is great lecturer, very approachable, jokes around, and seems to enjoy teaching. He is very patient and available when you have questions or think you are falling behind. Great.

Mr. Allan is the best! I had him back in Fall of 2008. He is very helpful and explain things fairly well. If you do not understand, he will take the time to explain things to you. I highly recommend taking him...you will not be disappointed.

Found Mr. Allen to be both humble and enthusiastic about helping students to visualize algebraic concepts. Math monkeys may calculate drudgery in other classrooms, but in his class the jokes keep coming and we ride the math gravy train into seeing the bigger picture. His time is highly sought after in the tutoring lab as well.

Mr. Allen is a great teacher. At first, I did not enjoy his classs b/c I did not like math and overall, I though Mr. Allen was kinda boring and bland. But after getting a 98 on my first test, I started enjoying his class more. If you don't understand something, he'll go through it step by step UNTIL you understand. And his reviews match the test.

He is a very fair teacher and if you follow along with his notes you will do fine. He gives plenty of room for you to redeem yourself if you mess up at the beginning of class. Mr. Allen's Math 099 class was a good one. He breaks Algebra down where students can understand it. We were a bit rushed, but only because I took it Summer Semester. I would recommend him.

Lots of reasons to take his class. He's a unbelievable math instructor. I took him this past summer. We covered a lot of material in a short amount of time, but he has managed to streamline the material and still teach the subject in a way you "will understand" it. I took Math1127, Statistics, with Mr. Allen. He is great! He makes it understandable, and is pretty funny! Homework is online, and you can redo it until you get a good grade. He gives notes and testreviews online that you can print off,up to you to print them. The tests are open notes and open book, even though I never used my book.

I'm not a big fan of math and was worried of doing bad in this class.But having taken this class with Professor Allen has completely turned around my enthusiasm for this class. It's practically enjoyable to have this class with an actual good teacher and not one who makes life a living hell. He's a good and lively teacher. Two thumbs up.

Professor Allen is an awesome math teacher. As someone who has struggled with math in the past I appreciate his teaching style, and concern with how his student are doing. He is very thorough in his lectures which results in him going over the designated end time, but that's the worst thing about him. He gives fun bonuses on his tests though!

Dr. Allen is by far the best professor i've had in any subject thus far in my schooling. He is very patient and is willing to give extra help outside of class with videos, study groups, ect. If you are ever confused he will always use different teaching techniques to help you understand it better. He also is very good about giving partial credit :)

I was unsure if I would pass this class, in fact, I attempted this class with another professor for which I had to drop due to the possibility of failing. Due the instruction from Professor Allen, I was able to pass with a "B".

I chose not to take this class online because I suck at math. I didn't even need to go to class. Mr. Allen posts his lectures online, so I just watched&learned from those. I didn't go to class ONCE, except for tests. His lectures were clear&easy to understand. I got a 90 in the class, but I bet if I actually attended my grade would be even higher.

INCREDIBLE professor, calculus II may be one of the harder math classes you'll take but he makes it bearable and offers lots of help. He can definitely go fast some lectures but you can ask him to slow down or explain things and he happily will. Really funny and cares about the students and I wouldn't want any other professor in a class this hard.

This class is easy as long as you show up and follow along. He has lecture videos of each lesson and that helped a lot for studying or going over lessons you don't understand too well. He's kind of funny sometimes and very punctual about the time of when class ends. Would 100% take this professors class again.

I had Mr. Allen Fall of 2023. He is a very positive professor; he gives energetic and well-explained lectures so the topics are easy to understand. The homework and tests were not difficult. The tests also had fun extra credit opportunities! I'd say I spent less than 6 hours a week on this course and ended with 100%. I recommend! :)

The words "here's the textbook way of doing it..and here's the easy way to do it" are said a lot in this class. He obviously knows what he's doing cause he makes his own formulas for long confusing problems. NO multiple choice tests, final exam is only over stuff after midterm, final and midterm 15% each, extra credit, two tests every month

Professor Allen's lectures are engaging and easy to follow. The class workload is manageable, and Unstuck ai proved helpful for test prep. Attendance is mandatory, but skipping isn't an issue if you watch the recorded lectures. Overall, a solid math course option.

Broke everything down and made things very easy to understand.The way he teaches this class makes it a very easy A.He's one of the kindest instructors I've ever had.I've had some bad professors that didn't teach at all or let TAs do all the work and this guy is NOT one of those people.He's very responsive and takes time to answer any questions.

Mr. Allen is the best teacher I've had at GTC. Knows the content very well. I'm taking him for Calculus 1 and I've already registered to have him again for Calculus 2. Can't wait!!

I took this in summer semester so it was test back to back, and originally I didn't know what I was going to get my self into and I was really worried but his teaching style + the amount of resources he gives it made it so much less stressful than it was probably supposed to be, Im trying to take him for my calculus class next semester, cant wait!

Lectures are 5% of your grade and he lets you use notes & textbooks on quizzes. He was pretty amicable and always answered emails within a day or so. He doesn't go off textbook often and is pretty lecture heavy but leaves notes, gives good feedback, has clear due dates & takes a week to grade a test(most other assignments are automatically graded)

He's one of the best instructors I've had. He's very patient and offers tutoring sessions to his students. He cares about all of his students and wants the best for them. If you show that you're willing to put in the effort to succeed in his class, he'll work with you. Overall, he's a very patient and excellent professor.

Professor Allen truly is the best math professor I've had in my entire life. I always thought I was bad at math until I took this class with him. He teaches so well and does an amazing job explaining things. Exams are pretty similar to the homework and test reviews, so as long as you put the time in to practice, this class could be an easy A.

I made an A in math the first time in my life because of this instructor. I'm very thankful for him!! You are provided with many resources BUT if you can be present for every class, it will be more beneficial. Some things are not mentioned in the videos. So, GO TO SCHOOL. That is all.
