Excellent teacher, very clear in his explanations, very funny, great personality, makes learning simple through stories of personal experience.
He was a very funny and entertaining professor. I recommend him to everyone.
Top notch! Prof Arnold could convince a "hippie" to become a police officer. One of the best teachers in the school in any department.
The best teacher in the world and a wonderful person outside of school as well.
His views could be supressed in class and he isn't "Fair and Balanced." He is easy to get in an argument with.
Put a little effort into the class, take the reviews seriously, and you'll earn an A. Great stories, great teacher, not too bad to look at. Patient as long as you don't disturb the class, but if you do, you'll lose points. NO CELL PHONES or food allowed
HE IS REALLY A GREAT TEACHER. HE IS FUNNY AND HAVE MANY STORIES ABOUT HIS EXPERIENCE AS A COP. SOME PEOPLE MAY COMPLAIN ABOUT HIM BECAUSE HE TAKE POINTS FROM THEM WHEN THEY MISS MORE THEN 5 CLASSES OR COME TO CLASS LATE MORE THEN 3X. HE IS FAIR.
Students can take what Professor Arnold says and apply it to their lives. I will remember what I learned from him for the rest of my life. Pay strict attention to the test reviews.
Don't have to compare him to other teachers to say he is the beat, but if you do compare him, he's even better than that. Prof Arnold makes the subject meaningful instead of just a required course. (And he looks cute in those shorts...)
GREATEST GUY ON EARTH!! Ditto all the other comments, double ditto on the shorts!! Do the reviews even if you don't think they help you... they really do.
Hey, I know the term is only half done, but Prof Arnold is just so good I have to share it in case someone is getting ready to register for Spring. I would take him for anything he teaches. I mean, he is the greatest!
He is an absolute riot! I actully look forward to this class. He gives real life stories and perspectives on interesting fields in a funny, enjoyable way.
Booyakasha! Here me now.....big ups to me main geeza here mr. Arnold. He be teachin me da main tings I need to suvive in da whole world. One day me julie was like ey ali, why don you quit the schoolin and stay ome with me, but me couldn't cause me was so intreeged wif mr arnolds class. Safe. Respect
Arnold is the man! If you don't pass or don't like his class you should be beat. He is ex law enforcement but has not been "swayed." The guy has been on both sides un biased. If you want to learn about the criminal justice system or just hear field stories his class is a must!
He gets better with age (he says he's barely 35). One of the best at this school! Don't be fooled by his "good ol' boy" accent; he is super-qualified, not just an ex-cop and investigator, but also has several graduate degrees he hides from students. Be sure to take a class with Arnold (AMH or CJ)
PROFESOR ARNOLD IS REALLY NICE. HIS CLASSES ARE EASY TO PASS AND HE ALWAYS TALK OF INTEREST STUFF. ITS HARD THAT YOU WILL FALL ASLEEP IN HIS CLASS. HE HAS A GREAT HUMOR , TOO.
Very fun class!
Had him for American Government and Criminal Investigations. Definitely an easy A. The test reviews consist of him pulling out the test and reading it. Take Arnold if you need an easy A but not if you actually want to read the book. He has an excellent personality and will innudate you with stories
helpful and interesting-test reviews will get you A's if you do them-unless you are late or absent too many times. Generous absence policy-bonus points for showing up, no penalty until you miss more than 4 classes, but you could fail if you miss too many; only 1 "free" tardy before you lose points.
Easy course to take if you like sitting through semi-interesting lectures about material that doesn't directly relate to teh topic. He gives reviews that have all of the questions on the test though. Do the review, get an A. That's how it works. Great class. Arnold is an entertaning guy.
More fun than a barrel of monkeys! Learn from his real life in Law Enforcement, read text for tests & academic stuff. Good ol' Boy with 2 doctorates. Wants you to do well, test reviews come right from test - he just rewords questions. Just show up on time, 'cause he'll get you if you don't.
I love Arnold. What class didn't I take with him. He is the best, the class is easy - JUST SHOW UP. Do NOT let him set you up with any cops. He is my all time favorite professor, and he's really hot too! Ah, if only I'd needed extra credit! ;p
truely an awsome man taking him right now.. total funny and helpful in getting us to understand the subject.
In no way a standard lecture; he captivates your interest through his personal stories in the field of criminal justice.
Awesome teacher! Definitely not your standard lecture. Reviews text but uses stories of personal experience in Law Enforcement to really get ideas across. Very helpful. Likes to have fun but wants students to learn. Come to class, BE ON TIME, and it's impossible to fail! I recommend him to everyone!
Not too bad of a teacher. Very easy class. Just show up and you should get an A. Gives you the 25 question test review. Just look up the answers and you get an easy A. Very strict on attendance. Don't need to read the book. Sometimes the lectures are boring.
I had him for CCJ 1020,CJT 2100, CCJ 1600, CJE 100. Very cool professor. No homework, 6 tests with 25 questions. Very easy
He is a pretty good teacher, just show up, do the review and you will pass. Make sure you can translate Country (hick) though, or he is hard to understand.(inuwindow)LOL.. I have learned alot from him.
This guy has paid his dues in the field & you'll LOVE his stories and he's still cracking me up to this day in the classes I have with him! If any ladies like a good ol' southern gent you better sign up for him ASAP cause they've got a waiting line with this guy. Show up, pay attention and read the book you paid for.
Arnold is the best. You can't get a teacher better than this dixie bred professor. He has the coolist stories and if you come to class and doo the reviews you will pass the class unless you are retarded. He is funny as****. Rudy Earl, Joe Bob, and Sally Sue are his best friends. TAKE ARNOLD!!!!!!!!!
Best class I have taken at MCC he is a great lecturer and gets sidetracked but gives you the questions to the test and and i good night of research you pass with flying colors. Just really cool guy.
Really easy. All you have to do is do the reviews and you'll get an A on every test. I slept through most classes and I still got an A. He is funny and nice, but very boring!
From a distance, he is good but NEVER ask him about reviews or any questions you missed. He is extremely unhelpful. I have trouble finding the info for his reviews in CE&P and I don't know why. Reconsider taking criminal justice at this campus because hes the only one they got teaching it. He has a huge ego and his humor can get old real quick.
Great teacher. I really learned alot and it was an easy A.
I loved his class. Very nice guy, always keeps the class laughing. Reviews are very helpful as long as you study it is an easy A! Make sure you dont bring a drink into the class, he tends to get angry about that. He'll make you throw it away. Other than that GREAT class!
Funniest guy alive! A must take if you want to get an A! Tells stories more then once... But Arnold is a great teacher all around.
3 more classes this semster with Arnold and I will have my degree and I have taken all of his criminal justice classes. BEST PROFESSOR!!! Never had any trouble with him at all. Got A's on all his tests. NEVER had to take a final yet!! Passed all his classes with A's.
Super easy!! He counts attendance. and doesn't like to say things twice. Sometimes he could be funny, but most of the time I was bored bored bored. If you want an easy A, then take him.
he's..... interesting. really easy, but really boring. all he does it tell old cop stories, which can help enhance a cirriculm with his experience, but it shouldn't be the focus of the entire class.
Best Professor Ever. Very interesting and passsionate about criminal justice and law enforcement.
Good instructor. Interesting stories in class!
Easy classes, Review is question by question. All you have to do is look up the answers and memorize them in order!!!!!!!!
He is Amazing
VERY, VERY GREAT TEACHER, BEST I HAVE HAD AT THIS SCHOOL, VERY INTERESTING AND FUN, FOLLOW TEST GUIDE AND YOU WILL GET AN A+ EVERYTIME!!
Hes a real funny guy and a real southern guy but if you have a habit of missing a few classes...DO NOT TAKE this course! he'll drop you! Test are sy...just like review!
his classes are fun...I have fim for gov and criminal jutice and its pretty easy. just do the review and you should get a good grade. Have to be at class but don't really have to pay attention...can slep too
Arnold is the best teacher, hands down!
Arnold is the easiest A. He can get a little boring and tedious during the summer, but you learn a lot of great things from his class. You really don't need the book unless you are deeply interested in the class. The reviews get you A's on the tests. Also, he's a Gators fan so if you're a 'Noles fan or Georgia tease him!!. Overall I recommend him.
good,easy to understand
good,easy to understand, funny
Funny and tells lots of good stories. He doesn't really cover the material in class, but gives such a good review it doesn't matter. Overall is a really easy professor.
He is very amusing and entertaining, but he's very boring. Tells tons of stories and talks the whole time, but it doesn't have anything to do with the material. If you like coming to school to do basically nothing....good class. Tests are basically from the reviews. Have to read the book to know what you're supposed to be learning.
Very easy Gov. class and a nice guy. 5 tests, 25 questions each. Reviews the questions class before test. As all have said, he tells stories & talks alot but is generally interesting to listen to. You don't have to pay attention in class, but do have to attend. All answers for tests are in the book - in order! Would suggest this class to anyone!
WONDERFUL PROFESSOR! I have taken him for almost every class that he offers. Attendance is mandatory but class seems to go by fast. You only use the book 5 times (1 time for each test) for the 25 question review. He drops your lowest test grade, so the final exam can be optional & offers extra credit points in all of his classes during discusssions.
Mr. Arnold is an amazing guy. He really wants every one of his students to succeed. 25 question reviews are given the class before each test. (They are identical to each other) If you choose to take Arnold's classes with a different professor, you will missing out. Once you have him for a single class, you will understand.
Could be a good professor if he would act his age and not try to be cool and the kids friends. He is very into sports and favors the kids who play for the college. He is a easy A and everyone knows it.
He's a cool guy, his classes are a breeze if you come to class and do the reveiews. He's funny too.
Easy A yall will love his class i wish he taught more clases i would take them
Arnold is an incredible Professor... I have taken every one of the classes offered by him and will definitely miss him when I am finished. If you are truly wanting this degree... take the classes with Arnold, you wont be sorry! I honestly have no bad thoughts, feelings, or words towards him! ARNOLD,YOU ARE AWESOME!!! Thanx for keepin the class fun!
I love this teacher!!If you come to class for the review you will nail the tests..He is funny and will make you laugh before the class is done. I take him for all my Criminal Justice classes and he is the best. I KNOW YOU READ THIS ARNOLD>>>>THANKS FOR BEING AN AWESOME TEACHER>>>>PS he does not favor the athelets that girls just mad she sucks ha;)~
arnold loves to tell stories, he's a good teacher and knows what he's talking about. There is no textbook use unless you're doing the review for a test
Prof.Arnold is the best criminal justice this college have. If you want to learn from the book like a freaking machine take someone else. but if you want to learn from real life police experience, I mean the real S..t take Arnold + he is a cool Prof. No make up test mandatory attendance. there is no other way either your in or your out. Just do it
Funny Class
SO easy and very funny! Always has a story to tell about what he is teaching
He's my neighbor down the street, haha. He's a hilarious guy!! His stories are entertaining, and he encourages backstabbing and rude comments in class, haha. I learned a lot in his class. You get bonus points for attending each class on time. I highly recommend him, he's fantastic.
Rule 1: Dont mess up his seating chart! Great teacher, What he talks about inclass may not have much to do with whats on the test, but if you cant read a text book by yourself, you should be enrolled in FSU or Miami.
Arnold is far from average. He's a stupendous professor and I enjoyed attending his classes every morning, which is rare of me. Arnold is entertaining within the criminal justice subject and I never had a problem with his teaching skills. I quickly learned and i can say it was pretty simple. I'm excited to take future courses with Arnold.
Awesome guy, really like teaching American Government and I enjoyed his mostly non-bias views, very easy class if you study your study guide, make sure you read the syllabus! Awesome teacher though!
Awesome professor, very funny! Lectures in class are not very helpful for tests but attendance is mandatory. If you do the review, you should get an A in the class.
Do the Review and the tests should be no problem for you. Participate in class and get some bonus points for the end of the year...those are always nice.
Arnold is the best! Reviews are the class before an exam, and they are identical. Attendance is mandatory, will keep you entertained, as well as a good GPA booster
EXTREMELY unprofessional. Treats students like we're preschoolers, unless you're "cool" with him. Everything he talks about is s&x or p0rn, its disgusting. Every story of his is unrelated to class. Yes his review is the exact test, that's how professors who don't know how to teach run their classes. Dealing with him is not worth the easy grade.
Professor Arnold has many interesting stories. He has interesting lectures and doesn't just stick to bookwork. For tests, he gives you all the test questions on 'review day' and just go in the book and find the answers. The test will then come as no surprise. I got an A each test. So easy!
Arnold is great. I have taken all of my Crim Justice classes with him. In class he tells stories of past experience and tests are easy as long as you do the review you should have no trouble getting an A.
Bonus points if you don't miss class. Excused from final if you get a certain grade amount from the first 5 tests added up. Great professor, ex copdetective. There's no way you won't pass.. easy A
Arnold is a retired cop so he has personal expereince but the class was a joke. The tests are the same exact questions from the review and lecture is mandatory but not relevant and sometimes grueling. The textbook wasn't necessary except for test review answers, he gives bonus points, and this class is an easy A.
Prof. Arnold is hilarious. His lectures are pretty long, but as long as you show up and participate, you will pass. His class is really easy and he does a review before every test. The review is literally the test. It has all the same questions, you just have to look them up in the book and study.
Most interesting professor and topics.
Arnold is an amazing professor, and has some entertaining old police stories. You only have 5 tests that you're graded on, and a final that is optional if you either have an "A" or do the other 5 tests. You'll always have a review the class before your test and it tells you what you need to know for every question.
Arnold is the best professor there is. He really cares for his students. You only take 5 tests, and he gives bonus points for people who volunteer in class. Sometimes lectures for the whole class and the other times he doesn't talk much at all. Talks about his days of being a cop and the advice he gives, comes in handy. Easy A if you're into law.
Had this professor during a summer course. Was very clear about the structure of the course. Has great lectures. It is beneficial that he is an excop and shares his experiences. Very easy class to pass
I love Prof. Arnold! His class is super easy as long as you show up for review days and do the study guides!!
Isn't very helpful if you have any questions. The only reason you pass his class is because the reviews are basically the test. He is very rude, especially if you like Florida State and often makes snide remarks about people who go there. All he does is tell boring stories about being a cop, nothing to do with government.
It's scary someone can receive a criminal law degree from his classes. An ape can pass this class with ease. Take it if you wanna sleep your way to an A, while learning practically nothing.
Absolutely LOVE this class ! I commend his teaching style. He may come off as a little rude but,he is clear and to the point with his directions. He makes class humorous and interesting by lecturing based on REAL LIFE EXPERIENCES instead of reading out of the book. Guaranteed A if you study your review. offers EC for participation and Attendance.
I took Prof. Arnold Spring of 2017 and he was hands down the best Professor I've ever had. He is very straight forward, and lays out what he expects from the very beginning, there are no surprises. The CJC 1000 class specifically revolved around 6 major tests. There was no homework, or group work. Don't take this class if you can't take notes.
Best teacher I've ever had. Took him for the majority of the criminal justice classes offered and was never disappointed. His tests are extremely easy if you study the review he gives. Not to mention he always has awesome and interesting stories from when he was a cop. Amazing teacher.
He is such a fun teacher! He tells cop stories most of the class and is really funny. As long as you show up and participate you will get an A for sure! His class is easy and fun.
Some teachers really take pride of what they do and he is one of them.
Best professor ever. High recommend.
Prof. Arnold is one of the most down to earth and solid instructors I have had at SCF. He presents a clear syllabus and follows it. He takes real world events and his experience and makes the application of US government interesting. I found myself more empowered from his discussions. Hes quite a character. I would take him again.
Professor Arnold is by far the most personable and down to earth educator on our campus. He is a retired officer and his love for his subject is felt through his lectures. He can ramble sometimes but you better pay attention because some of his best advice and stories come out through those ramblings. 10/10, my all time favorite!
Awesome professor. One of my favorites. All his classes are him telling stories and real life experience of being in law enforcement. Just put your phone away and listen, participate when appropriate and don't be afraid to ask questions. If you are a Seminoles fan.... Beware!!
Hes a funny wise man who just tells his old cop stories.
No homework, just tests. He is chill and laid back
Arnold is just an AMAZING professor he is so beyond helpful if you have any questions he is always happy to answer them. His lectures are always interesting and he makes sure that as long as you come to class you will pass. All he has is tests but as long as you do the review you will get an A. I highly recommend him for any Criminal Justice class!
Ive taken 3 of his classes and hes AMAZING! I highly recommend taking any of his classes
Professor Arnold is so funny and this was a really fun class. There is not a lot of work for this class and he gives you study guides for each test. He is very helpful and wants you to succeed.
Took this online class over summer so it was only 6 weeks but he was great! Very easy class if you just do the work, not that many assignments so you have to do them to get a good grade. Would definitely recommend!
Ive taken like 6 of Arnolds classes and hes hands down the best professor!! His lectures and pretty interesting. His test are super easy as long as you study and do the study guide !
A great professor that makes learning fun and easy while making information clear and tests directly relating to subject matter.
Professor Arnold relates the classwork to real-world problems, allowing to understand the material so much easier. No HW, just reviews for the test which are the exact test questions so just read over them a few times and you will pass every exam! Final exam not mandatory if you have the grade you want. Took him for all criminal classes as well.
Worst professor at SCF! If you're a female, dont take this class. He will eye you down and check you out. He doesn't even try to hide it. He made me uncomfortable all the time. I'm also disabled so when I would ask questions, he would rudely ask someone to repeat. He talks about pointless stories, one where he met nude girls on beaches. do not take
Professor Arnold is an amazing professor. He cares about his students and is really clear about his expectations. He tells stories that relate to the course, and help portray a particular concept better. The review below this is extremely misleading. It is up to the student to speak up, and up to the student to connect the lecture to the content.
There are six tests total and that's all he grades on. If you have good attendance and decent test grades then this will be your favorite class.
This professor has no course material other than a syllabus and a test every few weeks. During every class he lectures about his life experiences and rarely touches on topics related to the chapters we are supposed to be covering. Great class if you need it for a filler course, horrible if you actually want to learn and be taught.
He was my favorite professor, funny and good stories, you think their pointless until it's test day and his stories go along with it, easy but fun class, highly recommend, he tries to be like a student. Definitely entertaining, you will always have a laugh in his class, never a dull moment. And if you need help he will, very knowledgeable too.
Professor Arnold was a great teacher but tends to get off track very often. His lectures consist of his personal stories. There are 6 tests throughout the semester but the lowest gets bumped off. His tests are very easy and he provides a review with the exact questions on the test. I only wished he relied more on the textbook.
Professor Arnold is a great teacher. His lectures do kind of get turned into his stories about the subject which is fine, but if you read the chapter and do the review I promise you will get a good grade on the test because his reviews are just like the test. He is funny and does care about his students. I would reccomend taking him!
He is a cool professor, funny, and his study guides are exactly what's on the test. Super easy class:)
Cool professor. Very funny and interactive with students. Classes were usually pretty boring to me and he would always go off on long off topic tangents and tell stories about his old cop days. Quizzes were extremely easy and if you had a high enough score at the end of the semester you got to skip out on the final.
The only days in this class that matter are days when he "reviews" for the test. Not sure what we're reviewing when he discusses almost nothing included in the test, he rambles on and on about irrelevant stories only somewhat tied to the unit. If you want to pass his tests, don't worry about listening to him, just read the book. No excused absences
Professor Arnold is fantastic! He's a storyteller which is great, he tells you stories that relate to the subject matter (and they're very interesting) 100% would (and will) take him for other classes.
one of my favorite professors! in this class specifically make sure to do the final projects!! they determine your grade in the end (without the projects you fail the class)
I understand how people could get annoyed with his never-ending talking. But overall, he gives six tests. If you take all six, you can get the lowest score taken off. He doesn't upload grades to Canvas, but will know test score the next class. He gives every question that will be on the test. I never used the book; I just googled and got an A.
He is boring but funny. He ONLY talks about his experiences which I didn't always find interesting. He gives you the test questions and all you have to do is look them up or ask him for the answer during the test. Gives you bonus points for participation. He likes to joke with his students and get to know them.
literally, the worst professor I've ever had. I don't understand why so many people like him. He DOES NOT TEACH. He talks about himself and then makes attendance strict and necessary. He is EXTREMELY inappropriate. You do NOT need a textbook. If you look up the review questions online, you will get an A. I never want to see this man ever again.
Professor Arnold's CCJ1020 is an entertaining and manageable class. His engaging stories make the material interesting, and unstuckstudy helped me prepare effectively for the tests. If you do the readings, you'll likely get a good grade.
One of the best professors I've had. Makes the lessons fun and if you show up you will get a good grade.
I took both American Gov and Intro to Criminal Justice with Arnold. He is a blast. His lectures involve a lot of his past experiences and are important to the class overall, even the long winded lectures. Get to know him! You'll do great!
Complete disregard for actual TEACHING. All he does is yap about the most boring old man stories. He actually gets paid for this? If you want to learn about criminal justice or even have a slight interest in it, do NOT take him. College is for learning and growing, not an open mic. The people that rated him highly just wanted an easy class.
