His main objective for his students is for us to share in his enthusiasm, and that he does! I admire him and think that he does such a wonderful job. I have learned so much in his class.

Even if you are taking the Path of Slack trough college, you might get a C- in Gassman’s class; but if you do nothing but stay awake in his class, you will learn history despite yourself because this guy tells great stories and shows great films. This is a very easy teacher. Easy A. You don't even have to pay attention in class. The tests are a snap. Only bad thing about this class was that I felt like I was back in grade school with his animated stories. He even used the movie Gladiator to teach the class about Roman times. I love History, hated this class!

The Boss is an awesome teacher. He makes history fun and exciting, and his classes are slack-off, do-nothing B's, and easy A's. Sometimes he gets excited and starts talking a little too fast, but all you have to do is ask him to slow down and repeat himself, and he will. I highly reccomend this class, unless of course you actually like being bored.

Mr.Gassman is a wonderful instructor. He is funny and entertaining as he lectures. It is obvious he has a love of history and he shares that with his students. The course work is not terribly challenging. If you show up for class and take good notes you will do well. He also has a nice style that incorporates the class-no straight lecture.

I hate history but i just moved to woodland and was told to take him. He is by far one of the Best professors that i have had in my college career. He sets his class up for you to succeed. If you don't test well no problem, his test are long essay form but he makes it really easy to do well.

One of the greatest history professors I've ever taken! I'm not fond of history but he really made it a fun and interesting class. I'd review the chapters and notes to prewrite the essays so i would pass. loved it so much. Took him for all but one Hist class, and that was a terrible mistake! You cant go wrong with him!

Friendly and cool guy. Tells you everything you need to do and how to do it to get an A grade. Only needed to use the book twoce for midterm and final. His lectures are good and funny. Make sure to take GREAT notes and attend class! The better the notes the better the grade bc they are needed for the final and midterm. Grade drops for missed class

Okay, Gassman is a great guy with love for his students, funny and fun. His class is very easy to pass, and I liked that I didn't have a huge work load. BUT.. I wish he would have focused a bit more within the text book, and left our writing assignments a little more open to our own interpretation, rather than just copying his notes into essays.

Professor Gassman is fun to listen to, engages the class, is super funny, but maintains an air of respect. I still miss those classes and they ended Spring. Make sure you attend class and take excellent notes. Guaranteed an A if you do those two things.

Gassman is energetic & passionate about history. I am not a morning person, & his class is at 9am, but he wakes me up with his bipolar way of lecturing. When I say bipolar, I mean he speaks softly at some points & then yells at others, especially when he's excited for a correct answer given by a student. Taking 17B in the Spring just because of him

I have taken Professor Gassman for multiple classes and would not hesitate to take him again. He is an amazing teacher, really knows the material, and uses great powerpoints. Personally, he was one of my favorite teachers, his class is easy online, you basically just look at the slides (sometimes a lot of slides) and copy them down and answer the questions then submit by Friday, and you receive the work by Monday, he is very understanding and if your having an issue just tell him and he will do his best to help you.

I was delighted to be in his class. He makes history entertaining to learn! I'd definitely recommend him. The best history professor ever. His tests are open book. Just follow the guidelines and directions and definitely take notes on his power points. They're a huge help.

Prof Gassman's was a very fun professor and recorded all his lectures for students to watch during the week. If you are looking for an entertaining and minimal work class this is the class for you. I thoroughly enjoyed this class and would highly recommend it to fellow students!

Professor Gassman is an incredible teacher that cares about your grade and doesn't want you to suffer doing ridiculous assignments. He has assignments every week that are really easy because there are few short lecture (around 5 minutes) and then a assignment where everything is found in a power point. Midterm and Final are fairly easy.

One of the only online classes where I've been able to fully retain the info. His lecture videos are full of personality and you can tell he cares about what he's teaching. He gives personal feedback on every assignment which is incredible and refreshing.

Professor Gassman is AMAZING! He assigns 1-2 weekly assignments that are due on Friday and all the answers are either in his short lecture videos or PowerPoints. There is a midterm and final which involve having to write two 1,000 word essays which arent difficult however, could be time consuming. He also offers extra credit.

Professor Gassman's class was very fun and easy. The textbook was only necessary for the first few weeks and for sources on the midterm and final. He is a very generous grader who only posts up to two assignments a week, usually only one though. I would take another class with him in a heartbeat and I am currently taking HIST-17B with him.

If your considering taking this class, DO IT. Professor Gassman is kind and cares for his students. Got back to me faster than any other professor. If you put in effort, this class will be a breeze. Everybody loves Mr. Gassman. He's a super funny guy! I've taken every class I could from him. His lectures are super easy and entertaining, and the only things you get graded on are two essays (written in class, you literally just copy your notes into paragraphs) and a timeline you make at home and it only takes about 30 minutes.

I took him a while back and did not regret it, I was 14 (yes, 14) at the time, and he made me feel very welcome. Super funny and clear; I advise you do take notes, though. 10/10 would take him again, i've heard a lot of people like him.

After all these years of teaching Mr. Gassman is still enthusiastic about history. I have taken 17A and currently in 17B, I enjoy his in-person class because he is hilarious while lecturing. This guy is just a good professor. It's super easy to cheat and get away with it in this class simply because historical information is readily available through simple search and paste. However, he will give you feedback on how you should use notes and PowerPoints to find the answers. Overall, he's a really good professor.

Gassman is an amazing professor! I had him for all 3 of his online history courses during COVID. They all came with 1 assignment a week with questions directly from the lecture. There was also two 1,000 word essays for the midterm and the final. Today, there is no homework. There is now only the midterm and final essays for the semester.

Professor Gassman was amazing! I had him in person for US history and he was very funny and kept his lectures engaging. I liked taking notes in his class because it kept me busy but also bc it helped me create an "outline" of my midterm in finals. His class will not add to your workload if you just need credits done. Super chill but interesting.

Assignments can take time to do, but they aren't super difficult. As long as you read the lecture slides and watch his short lectures you will be okay. He wants his students to do good, so he gives students the opportunity to fix assignments if needed.
