Dr. Guisbiers is an excellent instructor. Physics is tough, but his explanations make sense of the material. Ask questions during class or during office hours and Dr. Guisbiers will answer your questions without hesitation. He has a good sense of humor and will make you enjoy the class. Tests are tough and one must study to pass.
Dr. Guisiers is an incredibly intelligent professor with amazing patience and very respectable. He is always there to help and available during office hours. He's super nice and kinda funny. The class is easy as long as you go to class participate and do all the problems that he hints at that may be on the test.
Biophysics is an eye opening look at why life has evolved the way it has and life's limitations. The course work doesn't require endless calculations, making it a course that I would recommend to people in any field. Dr. Guisbiers is an entertaining presenter and is great at ensuring that students have an understanding of the material. Must take!
Dr. Guisbiers is very helpful in every way. He makes physcis more interesting and easier to understand. He is very knowledgeable and cares about students. I advise you to read the PowerPoints because they are very organized and pay attention in lecture, they are very helpful.
Dr. Guisbiers' class is not an easy A, but I strongly suggest taking him. If you put in the work you will pass. He is more than willing to help you outside of class and will answer any questions you have. He truly wants you to pass his class and with a good grade and that is rare. You will also leave with a better understanding. He is a must take.
Great teacher, really good to talk to during office hours to help with understanding the material if it doesn't take when hearing the material during lecture, would recommend.
Great professor, cares about students and very helpful out side of class.
He really cares about his students and wants you to succeed. If you don't show up to class and expect to get a good grade, forget it. He is straight up when he says what is on the test so make sure you read through your notes and study.
I took the class over summer. He acknowledged that it would be nearly impossible to take the class over summer and do well, yet didn't ease up on the difficulty at all. No curve, insanely difficult problems, not reasonable at all.
My biggest complaint is the timing of his exams. You get done with the material 3 or so weeks before the exam, so it is easy to forget the material being tested on. Not a lot of homework. Do the hw on blackboard and read the powerpoints and you'll do well. He pulls word for word from there on exams. Make sure you show up and go to his office hours.
Given the short lecture time only two days a week I felt that a lot of the content needed to be read and understood on your own, however he does go over a lot of examples in class and basically tells you which problems will be on the tests. The class is weighted so that as long as you put the time in you will pass. Would recommend over Hall.
Although I didn't necessarily care for the subject Dr. G taught, the professor alone made it worth it. His accent is think, but you get used to it, he's funny, caring, and will do everything in his power for you to pass, as long as you put in the little bit of work required.
Although attendance is optional, its mandatory if you want to pass the class. He takes everyone's field of study into consideration when teaching the class, as to not ostracize anyone unfamiliar with physics, and vice versa for those unaccustomed in biology, etc. He teaches in a straight-forward manner, and is very open-minded with his students.
Great teacher and interesting class. He relates very well with his students and makes even the really dry parts manageable. He doesn't really assign homework, so you need to be diligent and keep your studying up during the semester. Cramming for his tests will usually mean you end up having a very bad day.
Dr. Guisbiers is a great teacher. His lectures were clear cut and he made sure that everyone in the class understood the content . Attendance was not mandatory for this course but listening to the lectures helped a lot in getting an A. Overall his classes were fun and informative. A genuine and inspiring teacher.
Physics was not an easy class for me. But he made sure that we could pass if we showed up and put work in on the material. Tough but fair.
I took him over the summer and at first he seems very tough, but he isn't that bad. We had a midterm and final and hw was 10% of overall grade. He pretty much tells you what will be on the test. Just rework class problems and tests shouldn't be too bad. The material was hard, but he really isn't as bad as he comes off.
Gives good extra credit if you show that you care and are trying. Tests are exactly like the exercise problems. If he says this will probably be on the test he is telling the truth.
Great teacher! Tailored the class very well to Bio-majors like me to Math-majors alike. More focused on content and relationships then mathematical calculations, but there are some of those too! The info gained from this class will definitely carry on with me to my Grad School application! ie) Explain the full mechanics behind an MRI or Ultrasound
Dr. Guisbiers is a great professor. It is extremely easy to pass his class with flying colors because he lets you know exactly what is going to be on his exams. If you get a bad grade in his class it means you didn't put any effort on, he makes it very possible to pass.
We had a free textbook, but I didn't have to use it at all. Attendance is optional if you want to lose 20% of your grade. His accent and handwriting is adjustable but rough at first. Tests weigh 60% of your grade, though most come from practice problems done in class. Always makes sure to welcome and answer questions before class or via email.
Dr. Guisbiers is really caring about his students! He uses powerpoint and chooses specific homework problems that he goes over class. Although you physically have to go to class, he uses an online app to present the material, take attendance, and give exams/quizzes on. Most of the homework problems he chooses are on the test!
His comments were funny and entertaining. I learned quite a bit - just enough of the lectures went deep into concepts and into applications. But he's clear from the beginning what he tests you on - the basics. He's happy to teach you exactly what you need to know for the exam... not tricky at all. It'd be fun to have him again.
Go to class and pay attention. He is a fair teacher, but you have to put in the work too. If you pay attention in lecture and work the homework he assigns and make sure you understand the blackboard problems he posts then you will do fine. Physics is not my strong suit and I only took this because I needed it, but I'm glad I took Guisbiers.
Dr. Guisbiers is very knowledgeable, his lectures are very interesting and useful. Paying attention to the lecture is important to succeed in the class. He makes the subject very enjoyable and he provides powerpoints that are easy to follow.
I took this professor for Medical Physics. This class was one of the most intriguing classes I've taken, especially as a pre med student. You will learn things no other class will teach you such as how MRI's, Ultrasounds, and x Ray's work. This was a valuable class and by far one of my favorites. The professor is really good as well!
I took Dr. Guisbiers for Medical Physics and it is a very helpful and organized class. If you are planning on going to medical school, I would highly recommend this class. Dr. Guisbiers is very knowledgable and he is willing to help in any way.
Dr. Guisbiers is very caring and knowledgeable. I took Biophysics to help me improve my biology and phsycis knowledge. Biophysics will also count towards your Biology elective credit. And it is a huge help if you are taking higher lever biology courses. I highly recommend this class.
Outstanding teacher! Dr. Guisbiers made the material very understandable. He's always open to questions and makes himself accessible outside of class. His tests were straightforward, and he was clear about what would be on them. The class wasn't alwasy easy, but anyone willing to work hard and study will do well. Would definitely take him again!
Pretty solid class. The homework answers can all be found online. His lectures are hard to follow along, but his tests are all based off the class problems he gives you. You just need to memorize how to do the problems to pass the class. You can skip class, but you'll be in his favor if you show up. Offers bonus points.
Professor Guisbiers is a wholesome guy that is ready to help his students succeed. The majority of your grade comes from exams, and you get points for showing up to class. Pay attention in lecture, study hard, and you will do just fine! He is available to see students in his office if you have questions, so take advantage of the extra assistance.
Very intelligent! has a deep, low, soft voice with a heavy eastern European accent. Often hard to understand. Doesn't allow formula sheets on tests. You have to study hard and memorize everything! His class requires a lot of studying but all the exam questions are based on classroom examples and are also provided on Blackboard.
Very understanding professor, helps when you need it. If you struggle with physics I would recommend his class. Attendance counts for a grade so make sure to attend all of the classes. Test count for most of your grade. This professor wants everyone to succeed so dont hesitate to ask for help.
There are very few assignments in this class, so each one is worth a lot. Attendance is mandatory, as it will be taken every day for points. He also throws hints at what questions may be on the exam during class, so it is really advised that you go. If you are willing to study the concepts given, and go over the practice problems, you will pass.
Uses Top Hat to take attendance, homework, and tests. Exams are based off of problems worked in class. Strong accent so I recommend sitting near the front. Covers topics quickly. Be ready for all the Greek symbols
Dr. G is a great professor! I will definately take him for Physics II! Highly recommended. He works with his students and explains course material well. I worked hard this semester, and got a B! I actually learned some Physics.
Great Teacher very understanding, giving moderate hw and Test Arent extremely difficult
Hilarious, smart, and if you really want to learn Physics, take Dr. Guisbiers' class! I took Dr. Guisbiers for Physics 1 and 2, and I learned so much in each class. He's so hilarious and makes lectures memorable and entertaining. The tests are understandable in terms of difficulty, but you still have to study for them. 100% recommend Dr. Guisbiers!
Dr. G is the great professor. He always wants you to pass his class with a good grade. He doesn't give us a lot of hw. All you need is to pay attention during his lectures, you'll be fine. His exams are similar to the practice problems in class. Attendance is mandatory. Highly recommended!
He's a great professor. If you truly want to learn Medical Physics take this class. Earning an "A" is his class is possible... if you are willing to put in the work. Going to class isn't mandatory, but if you want to get an "A" go to class, it's well worth it. Plus he makes his class and lectures enjoyable with his personal brand of humor.
Had Dr.G for Physics I, II, and now Medical Physics. He is a great professor. He takes time out to explain the lectures and always welcomes questions. Highly recommend this professor!
Dr. G is a hilarious professor that loves what he does. His lectures are memorable and that makes the informational easier to recall. He is incredibly kind and compassionate as well. When my father passed away mid semester, he worked with me to make sure I didnt miss a thing. Highly recommend.
Dr. Guisbiers was a great teacher and explained things really well in class. Just do the homework, go to class and pay attention and he is super helpful and is willing to help at any time.
Dr. G was very helpful. I had some unusual circumstances that complicated things a bit, but he was extremely helpful and went out of his way to help me succeed.
A really great professor! I had him for Physics I and I liked him so much I took him for Physics II as well. He gives minimal homework, takes attendances, and the tests are very difficult but they are only a few questions. He is always available and truly wants his students to succeed. I would definitely recommend him!
Dr. Guisbiers is very knowledgeable in his subjects. It's going to be PowerPoint lectures at a fast pace but he will give you plenty of time to ask questions, you just have to be willing to speak up. Your grade comes completely from tests, do not wait until last minute to study, go over the PowerPoint presentations repeatedly throughout.
Study material and you will pass.
Book is optional, not very beneficial in my opinion. Just take notes and read over lecture slides. After the first/second exam, you'll have an idea on what to study. Very nice guy and interesting material in the class.
Dr. G is the most down to earth professor I know! Yes, his accent is strong but having him for both Physics 1and2 you become accustom to it. He opens by asking "Any Questions?" and usually asks throughout the class period. Dr. G loves to help and is ALWAYS responsive go to his office, email him, Ask! The homework problems are on the test #funnyguy
Because it was online due to the pandemic, I started with a bad mindset and dreaded going to class (physics is tough). Now that I have stayed with it and have done the homework problems, I have absolutely loved Dr. Guisbier's class. He is funny, very understanding, and tries his best to help us. I recommend taking his class- he's a 10/10!
Dr. G is the most professional teacher I have every had. He understand that we have things going on besides his class so homework is limited and lectures are made for understanding . Since everything has been moved to online due to Covid-19 this is the one class I have enjoyed taking and understanding.
I took Dr. G for College Physics 1. He is a great professor. He uses an online learning website called Top Hat to do his lectures, homework, and exams. Signing up for the subscription gives you a free online book that has helped a lot. Exams sum up the chapters well, you need to study. Few, short homework assignments. Overall, great class
He was super nice and definitely wanted everyone to pass!
Amazing professor!
He is a solid professor to take during covid. He goes out of his way to answer your emails and does his best to help you through zoom meetings. Do the homework, do the practice exercises, show up for class, and you will pass.
Professor Gregory's physics class is good because it focuses more on problem-solving than lecturing. It's pretty straightforward how to succeed: do the practice problems he gives you twice, understand them, and you are good.
Dr. G is one of the most caring, down-to-earth professors I have ever had. He truly cares about his students, and he makes a subject that not many students particularly enjoy, into an interesting topic.
Dr. G. is an amazing professor and takes his time teaching College Physics 1. He is willing to meet with you outside of class via zoom since Covid here. He cares more about you learning instead of just giving you busy work. Tests are from the homework and powerpoints so study that. I plan to take him for College Physics 2. TAKE HIM IF YOU NEED PHYS
Great professor to have. Hw was fair and the test covered everything in lecture and in the hw. Lectures were easy to follow and if any questions were brought up he would answer them. He made sure we were comfortable with the material before moving on and he would give detailed examples of the subjects we covered which was very helpful.
great professor overall. Is willing to help you, and is not going to try and make your life difficult. not a lot of homework and short test. Make sure to go over the practice problems and you will be a-ok.
Dr. G is extremely intelligent and definitely knows what he's talking about. His lectures are comprised of class notes that he uploads so you don't have to read the textbook which is good because it was crazy dense in my opinion. Lectures and extra vids are good to understand the subject, the math was rough for me but he takes it step by step.
The course is centered on presentations but goes into detail on what is on the slides. He is very fair and straight to the point. He made the course enjoyable and informs you when a certain aspect is going to be harder than the rest.
Dr. Guisbiers is awesome! Has a great sense of humor, you will be laughing your butt off during class. His homework and take home practice help a ton for the exams. Practice these and watch lecture and you will be fine! Is a teacher I would retake over and over again!
Dr. Guisbiers makes physics so much more bearable and fun as one of the tougher sciences. He's funny, compassionate, and cares about the wellbeing of his students. He uses TopHat in his online classes, which helps with interactive learning and offers a free version of the textbook. I really wish I had taken his class for Physics I also!
Dr. G is a great teacher and is very knowledgeable. His lectures are engaging and his sense of humor makes class so much fun online. He uses Top Hat for exams, homework, and lectures. It comes with an online book that I use a lot for class. You will pass if you put in the time to study and attend class. I recommend him to anyone who needs physics.
Dr. G. is an amazing professor who wants you to learn Physics. I took him for both Physics 1 & 2. He was very helpful and has a lot of patience with the class. Go to class, do the homework, and study lecture slides. Tests are always things he taught in class. No Surprises! lol. I recommend taking him for all your Physics courses.
Physics in general is challenging, but Dr. Guisbiers, made Physics more understanding to his students. He asked questions, he provided feedback, and he broke the concepts down so that we could better understand the topics. What I valued most is that he provided us with homework to help prepare us for the exams.
Dr. Guisbiers is a really good professor and I would highly suggest taking this course with him. As a non-physicist, I can say that he makes the subject more palatable and is always willing to go over questions in class. Honestly, as long as you attend the lectures and do the homework you'll be fine.
He is overall a great professor. He is very funny and super helpful. His jokes keep the lectures interesting which is hard to do online.
The material was challenging as a student with less of a background in the hard sciences, but the course was paced very reasonably and we were given ample opportunities for questions and feedback. And though small group size and seminar format are likely better suited to in-person interaction, Dr. Guisbiers kept us engaged throughout the semester!
Specific to the class, If you pay attention in class and ask questions when stuck, you'll get an A. And even though this was entirely online, it was still engaging.
He is fine, sometimes the lectures are kind of hard to follow. There are also definitely certain things that can improve, such as the practice exercises. This second semester the exercise questions were so hard to decipher from the worksheets he posted online. And he only gave a few problems for each chapter compared to the previous quarter.
Great class but my lack of attentiveness didn't help when I needed to succeed
PHYS 1322 with Dr. G. was a very enjoyable class. I really enjoyed having Dr. G again as a professor and recommend anyone to take one of his classes. I just wish the credits would transfer to ASU. Looks like I'll take both PHYS 1 and 2 over again. Thanks again Dr. G. for making our class fun.
Class was always fun and interesting. Dont skip many classes, at the end of the semester the attendance and easy homework points can really stack up for or against you. Was always helpful and easy to talk to.
This is the second semester I have taken Dr. G. He is an amazing professor and will help you any way he can to help you succeed! could not recommend more.
The test are fine as long as you pay attention to the study questions given every chapter and make sure to do the homework.
He has a very inclusive approach to his teaching method and makes sure no one is confused before moving on. He conveys the information being taught in a clear and concise manner. I would take Dr. Guisbiers for as many classes as I could.
Great Physics teacher, during Summer term every week day is mandatory attendance for class but the pacing of the class is good and he is available to help with anything often.
I took Dr. Guisbiers for Physics for Engineers I online over the summer. The class itself is not all that hard to understand. Some notes are provided by Dr. Guisbiers; however, the handwriting on said notes makes them hard to read sometimes. I have yet to take the final exam, but the homework seems simple enough and is said to be just like his test
Very hard class but he tries to make sure everyone is caught up before he moves on. He is open to any questions and wants to help with any issues.
Dr. G is a great professor and always accessible. If you have taken a physics class before most will be familiar, but if not, this is a great class to take to learn basic physics and become acquainted with physics problems. Do practice problems and put time in on homework and you will succeed.
I wish I could have Dr. G for all of my physics classes. One of the best online teachers I have had so far.
Dr. Guisbiers is a great professor and is always accessible. The class itself is not particularly engaging, and you can only use the chat to participate. He makes sure that the class is caught up before moving on. The only problem is that there is only one exam which is 40 percent of your grade. So if you do not do well you cannot recover.
I took Dr. Guisbiers for Physics 1 over the summer. He understood that we also were in summer and extended me grace when I fell behind. He was very understanding of all circumstances that he was made of aware of in advance. I would highly recommend him to anyone taking physics 1.
Dr. Guisbiers is very helpful. I have been able to learn from him online better than from others. He is very understanding and will help work around conflicts with class.
Very knowledgeable in class subject, and gives very detailed lectures.
Great Professor. He knows his material and is very easy to ask questions to. Only down fall we did everything through TopHat and during lectures we could speak and ask questions, you usually had to email him after. He was great a responding to his emails though. Definitely recommend him!
Very nice professor who wants his students to succeed. Took it online, 50% of the grade was the midterm and the final, but the questions are really similar to the practice problems in class. Responds to emails fast and tries to engage students in class.
Good Teacher
He's genuinely a nice guy and a good professor.
Dr. G was an amazing professor. I've always struggled when it came to physics but he was very helpful and understanding. He was very transparent and honestly as long as you try in the class you will do well. The only downfall were the exams, with this being a five week class you were responsible for a lot of information but it wasn't terrible.
Dr. Guisbeirs is a great professor who is always there to answer questions. 50% of the grade was the midterm and the final. The tests were not too bad if you pay attention in class. He responds to emails very fast and does a good job of answering questions.
Dr.G is a great teacher. He remembers when he was a student and shows that he cares for his students.
Dr. G is the best! His sense of humor displays his care for his students and also shows how much he wants his students to succeed. If you have to take Physics 1&2, this is the guy to take it with.
he does well to try and make the information digestible.
Dr. G is one of the most enthusiastic physics professor I have came across. I absolutely hated physics before and now I am considering to change my major to physics because of him. He is funny, knowledgeable and a smart guy who knows his stuff. He knows how to keep his class engaged and he will make sure to not let his grade hurt ur GPA. TAKE HIM!!
Classes begin with a short window for attendance taking using an online app. Lecture notes are provided within the app for each chapter. Tests are not at the rocket science level. He has the gift to instruct complex subjects in an understandable manner with just the right touch of humor. He makes physics enjoyable.
Great professor with a sense of humor. Handwriting is hard to read but as he says you will get used to it. The tests are not hard as long as you go to class, do the homework, and go through the exercises outside of class. You will have to put in a lot of study time.
He is very good professor, he helps with problems and helps very well in explaining the content.
I enjoyed the way Dr. Guisbiers taught. This was my first physics class that I have taken for my engineering degree. Because of Dr. G and this class, I have decided to minor in physics. He was very open to helping every student, and was willing to speak with me outside of class to advise me on my future endeavors. I highly recommend his classes.
Overall a good class. Attendance is required. Homework is online and is easy; videos or short articles with multiple choice questions. Tests are fair, if you read his notes and practice the examples, you will do fine. He does have a strong accent, but after a couple of classes gets easier to understand.
Dr. Guisbiers is a good professor to take if you are taking physics for credit. He is not a hard professor at all, and gets his tests questions from the homework and practice problems that we do in class. He moves really fast so do not fall behind. He does take attendance every class, and you do get points for showing up, so don't skip.
You get attendance points for this class, so be sure to show up. Sometimes he will do in class questions for points. His tests are only 10 questions, but not very difficult IF you do the homework and work out practice problems he provides. He does go through the material quickly, so don't fall behind.
Great professor! He is very fair in his homework and tests and never asks questions he's never asked before. Most of the test questions you will find in his previous homework assignments so as long as you do the homework you should be fine. He is also funny in his lectures which are mandatory so don't skip otherwise your grade will suffer.
He is a great professor, very funny too! He does assign homework, so if you do the homework you'll do great on his exams as well. Some of the questions on his exam come from the homework. He's quick to go throught the class material so make sure to attend each class and try to answer his questions in class.
He is an amazing professor, took him for physics 1 & 2 both. Not only does he make the course interesting but is also a very fair grader and his exams are not hard at all. TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN!!
Great professor! Had him for physics 1 & 2, he is hilarious and makes the class as entertaining as possible. Exam questions and grading are very fair.
the was OK.He went very fast in lecture and gave very few homework problems. the homework problems were very similar to exam questions so he was consistent there.
He will make sure you understand the material before moving on and if no one has questions he will proceed. Recently started being more interactive with the lectures. Not too much HW but make sure to work on the practice questions to help with material. Overall great professor with a great sense of humor. I would take him again.
Dr. G genuinely cares about his students and their understanding oh physics. He is a master of the subject. He is patient, and willing to go at the pace of the classroom and not just his syllabus. If you like physics, take Dr. G because he will make sure you receive the education you pay for.
Honestly a really cool dude, he looks scary but he's actually a really funny guy. If you work the exercises that he does in class multiple times the class is an easy A, if you don't then you won't pass but honestly I would take him again.
He''s an amazing professor who is both funny and intelligent. He does provide homework and practice problems and as long as you do them, you will perform well on his tests. He works fast through the class material, so make sure to attend every class and try to answer his questions in class. TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN!!
Knows his stuff. Fast paced. You must pay attention or you will get lost quickly.
Professor Guisbiers is a good professor, I am just horrible at physics and hate the material. I highly recommend going to every lecture to get participation credit, and working through the practice problems he provides. Those practice problems are the key! No quizzes and very little homework. Exams are VERY short.
He knows his stuff and it seems like he genuinely wants you to succeed. His exams are fair, he's very clear about what he expects you to know, and what material will be on the exams. Attendance isn't strictly mandatory, however it's part of your grade, and it's so important to attend his class, you'll be lost otherwise. Take him if you can.
Dr.Guisbiers is fair and reasonable and is flexible with the test dates.
He was a really good professor and I would suggest anyone who wants/needs to take physics, to take it with him
Dr. Guisbiers is an amazing professor. He has great lectures and is very sympathetic to the class when it comes to tough subjects and exam dates.
In the syllabus, he has homework built-in but we had to beg him to assign it. His lectures are awful and barely explain the topics for the test. The only reason I am passing this class is that I had another physics professor email me his past online lectures. Honestly, I would just take Dr. Blanton for this class.
If you did not take this professor for Physics 1, DO NOT take him for Physics II. If you are not familiar with his teaching style, this class will be nearly impossible. HW was included on the syllabus, but students had to ask multiple times before he actually assigned anything. He does not go into any depth when lecturing and has high expectations.
Dr. G knows his stuff. He's great at walking through problems step by step while not overwhelming you.
I had him for physics 1 and for physics 2 as well. Would definitely say the tests were harder for physics 2 but the subject matter is also just harder. I'd just say do the practice questions from the book and you should be good to go.
Was harder than physics 1 but he does the best he can to try and explain it to you. There are fewer example problems in class as well so the best thing to do is to do the example problems out of the book
I took him for physics 1 last semester and physics 2 was a little harder than physics 1 but he does the best to help you succeed. I would look over the problems in the book, the exercises he gives and also the homework.
I learned a lot in his biophysics class that he taught this semester, very interesting but a lot of material. The test questions normally come from the slides he gives which is a lot so I would be prepared.
He tries his best to teach the subject so that everyone can understand it. One thing to note, however, is that if you took his Physics 1 class and decided to take his Physics 2 class, be prepared because it's not going to be the same, and just because you passed that class with a high grade does not mean you will pass this class with a high grade.
This is very clearly a passion class for the professor, and it shows. However I don't think most people should take this class, the only people who really should are people who are genuinely interested in biophysics or physics majors looking for more electives. He is a very nice guy but the class is difficult
He has a good command of the subject
He was a decent professor, just moved fast and did not detail his examples.
Lectures move really fast and you have to spend a lot of time outside of class trying to understand the material. Professor expects students to read and understand material outside of class and lectures are to skim over material or go over example questions. Questions on tests are very complex and difficulty is high.
Dr. Guisbiers is very flexible when it comes to students needs, especially when it comes to scheduling tests.
Classes are difficult but fair and Professor Guisbiers allows anyone that apply themselves plenty opportunity to succeed
He is always patient, helpful and truly care about his profession and his students! I always appreciate how approachable he is. Thank you for the course.
Nice person. Easy question format.
Don't let these ratings fool you. He offers extra credit for anyone who rates him on this website. Dr. G is very knowledgable on the subject matter, but is terrible at lecturing. He moves fast and does not go into detail. He gives almost 0 effort into making the material understandable. Get ready to pay thousands to watch tons of YouTube.
Dr. G is a lazy professor. He does not go into detail, and his tests are straight from the exercises. His exams range from 5-9 questions. If you miss one question, you receive a low grade. 4/5 will give you a grade of 80%. No in-between or partial credit. Exams are 60% of your grade so if you want an (A) you have to make 100's on the exams.
Dr. Gregory Guisber has detailed the strengths of his teaching methods, clarity in explaining complex concepts, and his dedication to student success.
Dr. Guisbiers is a an excellent and renowned physicist. Mostly, i like his teaching style i.e., problem solving strategy ( set-up, execute and evaluate the problem). So that I can have a deep understanding of that subject matter. As a result, i can think the problems critically to creative. Therefore, i strongly suggest others to take this course.
Dr. G was friendly, funny, and fair. He's a great lecturer and gave clear detailed notes that structured the class and reflected the tests. Homework was simple and a good resource. This course required the students to do a lot of studying and to show up every day, but he was forgiving about absences. My one gripe are the lack of formula sheets!
Dr. Guisbiers is one of the few professors on this campus who actually cares about properly educating his students. He takes care to refine his teaching methods throughout the year in order to adapt to the class and better reach his audience. His class is quite hard, definitely the most conceptually intense course I've taken in my three years.
Dr. Guisbiers is one of the few professors on this campus who cares about teaching his students something. His class is quite hard, definitely the most conceptually intense one that I've taken in my three years here. One issue is that if you miss one tiny detail on a test it can drop your grade dramatically. I missed one eqn and went from 100 to 75
Professor is accommodating to students needs and works to help them learn the material.
It's my pleasure to be a part of his lectures. The great thing I discovered from his lectures that he focused on the all types of students that they could easily understand the topics. His total course is well organised. He removes the fear of questioning and makes student pretty comfortable to catch him. Grading criteria is excellent.
This course has two sections, in the first section, Dr. Guisbiers taught us by lectures. In the second section, he encouraged students to participate to solve the problems. Through this course, I was able to solve and get the clear concepts of equations of motion. This is a great course if someone wants to build an important insight of physics.
It's my pleasure to be a part of his lectures. Honestly speaking one can find his lectures in adapting way and finally you can capture the topics in a nutshell. He is always welcoming questions from students. He gives the well organised materials for study. I visited his lab also and I am really glad to meet the researchers from his lab.
This professor communicated the subject matter well, and it is clear that he cares about the success of his students. He had us take turns working through the problems, and this both made the course very engaging and helped prepare us for the final test. However, one test (the shortest of four) relied heavily on remembering one particular equation.
Prof. Guisbiers is a passionate teacher who cares about student success. His lectures are engaging, and he encourages participation. The course is challenging but rewarding, especially with the help of resources like Unstuck study for study prep.
Dr. Guisbiers is highly knowledgeable, approachable, and supportive, always willing to guide students through complex topics and foster a collaborative learning environment.
Charming professor, making me unintentionally laugh at times. Helpful in derivations, willing to answer questions no matter how trivial. The overall class grade is heavily dependent on exams. Exam questions are worked in class, or taken from the textbook. I suggest working all questions from lectures again, and the examples in the book.
