Calculus II is never going to be easy, but he goes out of his way to answer questions in class. His tests cover all the subject material, but are not "tricky".
He is a good teacher that understands the subjectmatter very well. When explaining things, he sometimes skips steps and expects the class to follow without a problem. but he will answer any question you have.
I took him. Awesome teacher. I wish they had teachers like him at UF where I go now.
He is a good teacher but kind of boring.
He is Brilliant, would take again!
This class was the hardest class i have ever taken!! His tests are impossible and there are only 15 questions on them so if you mess up one problem you are screwed!!
Makes himself available and is always in his office when schedualed. Makes the class fun. Enjoyed him more than any other math professor I have had.
great guy
Definitely not a super easy professor, he is sometimes very unclear in his teaching methods and seemed not interested in teaching the class - but maybe he was just reflecting how the students acted...he did crack a lot of jokes to lighten the mood. Just do the homework and read the book and if you are in any way intelligent should do okay.
Great teacher. Knows and explains his material clearly. Tests are a little challenging but he is lenient on grading.
He is a pretty good teacher. You just have to get over the semi-monotone voice that he has.
Great teacher overall. I had him for college algebra also.
Great prof, one of the best
Not bad at all. Calc 3 is a hard enough subject as it is, and he makes it understandable, even over the summer. There are way worse teachers out there.

Excellent Prof, takes the time to explain concepts people should already know.
great teacher--totally devoted to his career---overall obe of the best--highly rec.
The class was easier then I expected. He is not 100% clear all the time but his test reviews really help answer questions. He was always friendly and available if you needed additional help. The class is an easy A if you do the homework.
Great teacher!! Explains touch calculus concepts to make crystal clear sense. Calculus II is not easy but enough studying and this instructor and you will pass!
Good instructor, do the homework and you will do fine.
Mr. Henderson was fair and clear about everything. Do the homework before class and come in with any questions you have he'll go over them all untill you understand! If you have to take this class this one is the one you want to take. Also he is kind'a funny.
He is the best math teacher I have ever had! Will help with anything!Always open for questions!Do the homework. He has some good jokes. I highly recommend him!
He is very smart and nice guy, but I don't like his teaching style. He skips some steps, and it's hard to follow him during the lecture. Maybe it's becuase I had another professor for calc-I... he grades tests very easy, and tests are not that hard. Do homework - it helps!
Doesn't care too much about attendance. Tests are very hard if you don't do the homework and prepare for the tests. Handwriting on the board is sometimes hard to decipher. But overall, not that bad of a professor.
Great professor!!!He's willing to help student. The test will be easy if student do homework. Easy to get an A. Take his class
He is helpful. Do homework and you will do well on his tests. Easy to get A. recommend to take his class!!!
He is very knowledgeable about the subject. He knows the theorems and rules like the back of his hand. He is constantly asking if anyone needs help see him. He seems to really care. Definetly take him. His tests are relatively easily (except for test 2). I look forward to Calc 3 with him.
His class was very easy if you 1)attend class 2)do homework 3)go to review session 4)ask questions if your confused. If he misses a step, just ask(he forgets too),he's there to help you!Very nice, lax and helpful.Easy to understand and he has some humor to.First time taking it and passed with A+ and I have never really liked math but he makes it easy.
Excellent teacher, his tests are very fair he lets you know in advance what to expect. He is a very fair grader. His lectures are very helpful and his work is crystal clear. He is always willing to help. His passion for math and his sense of humor kept me interested in coming to every class and it payed off. Highly recommended!
Awesome teacher!! He cares about you passing but you need to ASK QUESTIONS!! I recommend him...Dont need book but should have it!
Henderson is a great Mathematician. Calc II and below take him. There is enough time in class to understand the material. Calc III, there isn't enough time with his teaching style. Calc III shouldn't be as hard as he makes it. But, he is still better than USF.
Great teacher. Has a subtle sense of humor, but class wise, definitely a good instructor. Explains things slow enough for every student and the gold fish in the back to catch on. Makes sure that he is clear on every topic. No surprises in this class. If you do what he asks, you'll have no complaints.
His teaching style can be confusing. He does have a tendency to jump around in the sections without introduction. Tests are extremely difficult, but he takes in account if you attempted to answer the questions on the test. Online HW is counted as a test grade. In order to pass the class you need to do online HW & book HW to understand the material.
Cool professor, very lenient with the grading but confusing. His lectures have no order, it's just a mess at times. Worst part is some of his confusing mess ends up on the test, however he is willing to clarify stuff for you. I had to rely on the textbook and teach myself the material. Easy class if your good at studying the material on your own.
cool teacher!!!! No book needed as long as you understand his notes and HW on MathXL.
Great teacher!!! Took his class after a failed attempt the semester before with a different professor. He made everything much clearer, easier, and more enjoyable. He gives you a cheat sheet to use on tests and you can write other stuff on it too.
This professor is committed to student success... You don't see that very often anymore... I will take him up to Linear Algebra!
He seems to just lecture the material, as if he is reading from the text. He does review for the tests, although what you see on the test, a lot of the time, is stuff that has only one example in the text. He is very lenient when grading. Basically, I wouldn't recommend him to anyone who needs a teacher and not a lecturer.
He is not a good professor. Gives a review that is not even on the test. Does not teach just random stuff from the book so you cannot keep track of where exactly he is in the book. All over the place kind of teaching. The book is a hard read. The homework is long and hard to do as well. I took him in honors stats 2021. He isnt a good professor.
I really liked this professor. I took him for DE and CalcIII. This is CALC III, you have to study...A LOT, no matter who you have...His test are about ten questions and the best part is, if you have an A or B(in most cases) you don't have to take the final. Which in itself is a good reason to take his class. PS> PARTIAL CREDIT ON TESTS
He's a nice teacher & willing to help. My best advice if you are not a good tester sign up for tutoring and do the homework. I received a B in STAT.
Solid teacher. Henderson is willing to step back and teach lower level algebra/trig while teaching calculus. All those who bash Henderson saying hes a bad teacher are usually the ones who dont study the material and end up w/ poor grades. He does throw curve balls on tests, but he does this to separate the 'A' students from the rest. Just Study!!!!
Excellent teacher. Explains concepts well, with good examples. Tests are very fair and he gives good guidance prior to them. He is also very funny, in a dry way that catches you by surprise. I highly recommend him.
You really should read the material before class or you will be lost. Since he's not very clear on what topic is being addressed. But, if you do read before class, he can nail it all down pretty solid in your head. Very knowledgeable about the whole field of math. Great professor for hard working students. Slackers will not do well.
Dr. Henderson is a great professor. May seem a bit dull to some, but he's able to break down the material and teach it by practice. Tests are easy as long as you pay attention in class. Final replaces lowest test grade.
he is gret professor...i will alway recommend this teacher
Well, he is a great professor! The only thing is that he might make mistakes here and there on the calculations, which might confuse some students. He is knowledgeable on math. Math XL assignment are VERY LONG! Overall, he is a great professor!
When he teaches, he moves way too fast as if everyone knows what he's talking about,Pay attention! Take MATHXL in his class, its worth 100pts extra credit! Dont need the book if you get MathXL. His final is extremely easy, he tells you exactly what problems to look back on in the previous tests! Basically the same problems with different numbers.
Math is not one of my preferred subjects, so I had a hard time in this class. His tests are pretty short so if you get a few wrong it's a pretty big deal but he offers mathxl as an additional test score and replaces your lowest score with the final while still letting you keep that score for the final also. Very nice professor.
Henderson is by far the coolest prof. around. Exams are semi difficult, but he does give partial credit and even offers extra credit problems. Final exam replaces lowest grade. As long as you study there should be no problem passing with at least a B. Come prepared for class; read/study sections before class to stay ahead of the game. STUDY!!
Professor Henderson is one of the greatest teachers I had while at HCC. Although I've since moved on, his teachings and focus have help me excel in numerous mathmatics courses. He will not be the easiest teacher, but probably the fairest you'll encounter. Just stick with him until the end and he we reward your efforts. Expect to work for an A.
Good guy, and a VERY fair grader. This is a hard subject, but he gives partial credit for a lot of the worked problems; I've been surprised at some of the grades I got. Do the best you can and you'll get rewarded for it. But an A is only reserved for those who actually know what's going on.
I've never left a review for anyone before but this professor certainly deems for one. Dr Henderson is by far the nicest, sweetest, greatest teacher I've ever had. He explains things with clarity, has a great sense of humor and he works with you if you have a real issue. Definitely deserves the best rating there is out there.I highly recommend him!
This professor is very good and very fair. I took DE and Calc 3 with him over the summer and was very glad I had both classes with him. I highly recommend taking this professor.
Not a good professor! He doesn't give much partial credit and explains things very unclearly. I have been studying all alone the whole semester his lectures are completely useless. He grades so strict average is always in low 50. My friend is taking calc at USF and her exams are easier than mine at HCC. I mean seriously ? This is community college!
Honors class. Rarely used textbook (only for studying). 4 exams and an optional final (only optional if you have an A or B in the class). No mandatory homework. Professor is clear with his lectures and what will be on the test, and has a dry sense of humor. Overall, an A or at-least a B is very possible with some work.
Currently taking Calc 2. This is the third class that I have taken with Mr. Henderson. He is a great teacher, and is more than fair as long as you put forth effort. I plan on taking him for Calc 3 and DE as well.
Nice instructor, is fair with grading, and will work with you. Homework is extra credit, with 4 test and an optional final exam. A bit of a kidder. Lectures are helpful but you will need to do homework. Not a harsh grader. I got an A, but I had to do all the test and homework. If I have any more math to do, it will be with him.You got to want an A.
Henderson is a good teacher, he will do the problems and go over anything if you ask him too. I know some students in the class are having trouble following because sometimes he skips steps, and I understand it, I'm good with math, but for everyone else, you may not follow. Just keep that in mind. You definitely need to study for tests though.
The class was a little rough at first, but as the semester progressed, everything made sense. This is college, and I cannot comprehend students complaining about Professor Henderson, when they don't show up for lectures or do extra homework. He will take the time to explain any problem that you ask him about. I am glad I took his class.
Mr. Henderson is an awesome professor! He is definitely a fair grader and is eager to help if you are struggling. He is very knowledgeable in stat. I highly recommend him. I got an A in the course. Do the homework, it really preps you for the tests and it you have mathxl, this also helps.
He is the worst teacher ever. He doesn't go by the book, make up his own problems and has the worst handwritting in the world. He will bored you to death. He is a nice old man, but most of the students in his class ends up going to tutoring because he doesnt explain stuff will and the formula that he gives you doesnt even go along with the book.
This is a very good professor. He knows what he is talking about very well. He does sometimes have a little difficulty explaining things however. My only complaint in this course was the book. It was a very expensive book only good for one semester. He almost never used the book, though he did give us some problems that would be helpful to do.
If you are taking a class with Professor Henderson, do yourself a big favor and keep up on the Math XL assignments. Not only will it reinforce what he is teaching in class, but it counts as a extra test grade. He is a good professor, but I wish his test reviews were more concise and organized.
This is a great professor! Make sure you do the Math XL. If you need a tutor take Chris Walsh awesome guy and this is way I past the class...professor will answer any questions, the class seems difficult but you can pass with an A! Just study and keep it...
Taking him now.BIG MISTAKE!He's a nice guy,but not a good teacher.Should make everything more cohesive and unified.In-class exercises, mathxl, and those in the book all different; It makes it really hard when studying for tests bc when you are practicing and get stuck you end up teaching yourself from book or online.Reviews are vague and very random:(
Make sure you go to class and do the reviews. I took him for summer, and he gave us a page of formulas. It's up to you to know which one to use. Just do the homework, even though it does not count. I never used MathXL, but most classmates did. I just hammered on the book. He even offered helping me get into USF is trouble arose. Great guy
Professor Henderson, def knows his stuff however his students do not. And unless, you are a math genius then this is class is not for you. He doesn't label his notes, he doesn't answers questions well, he makes a lot of mistakes on the board- it's kinda ridicolous; very disappointed.
Attendance is not mandatory but I wouldn't miss a class. I took stats and made an A. My advice..write down EVERYTHING he says AND puts on the board. Watch the tutorial videos on MyStatLab, do the online HW, and make practice tests. He will help you if you need it, but he expects you to study at home. Put in the effort and you will make an A.
Very easy class. Pay full attention, and takes notes. The problems you practice in class are the problems on the test. I had A's on all his tests with two 100s. He teaches very well and simplifies everything to the extreme. AP stats in high school is harder then this. I recommend him.
Good humor; willing to answer anyone's questions whenever and very patient. He may lose you if you don't ask him to explain something but he's very willing to break anything down for you if you just ask! He does very good reviews for his tests--almost no surprises!
4 test and optional final if test avg were 85 up and homework is optional too for an extra test grade. Overall class was pretty easy. Be sure to come to his review, test is exactly like it.
Stat 2023 is not an easy class, however he tries and make it EASY for anyone. His reviews is what is in the exam, just dont miss it! Would definitely recommend
This prof. is amazing! If you attend class, take great notes, and do the homework online you'll be fine. If you get a mean score of 85 on 3 tests you don't have to take the final. Do the homework (optional and easy to get a score in the high 90's) and you can use that to boost your mean score at the end!!!
Do not ignore the book work. Do not rely on My Math Lab. You have to be able to improvise on the concepts to get good grades on tests. I plan to take him for MAC2312.
Mr. Henderson Was The BEST!!!! He was helpful and patience!!!!! He stayed after class with me until I understood!!! I felled his first to 2 test, got a C on the last 2 tests then got a 99% on the final, walking out of his class with a B!!!! He helped me. Im so grateful that I took his class. It was hard but He encouraged me to keep going and I did
Professor Henderson is fair. His tests are tough but he will help you out if he can. I've taken him for Calc 1 & 2 and will take him for Calc 3. If you work hard you will pass. If you get an A in his class it is because you deserve it.
his tests are tough but he is a nice guy, book work dont matter, my math lab does not matter, just be ready for the test , he makes a lot of funny comments through the semester.
He is a great STATS teacher. If you need to take Stats take him. Really easy and clear. 4 tests and if you have an average of 85 or more you don't need to take the final. He knows what he is doing. Before each test he gives a clear review of the test and makes it hard to fail. only 6 students out of 35 took the final.
You'll need to do a pretty hefty amount of homework to get through his class. He gave us 4 tests and a cumulative final. My math lab homework counts as a test grade.
One of the best math teachers out there. Given that the class is a combination course it seems hard, however professor Henderson clearly teaches the lesson (even when he seems to be going fast, he constantly repeats the lesson). Grading is simple. 4 unit tests, optional homework, and the final exam. Plus he is very funny!
Henderson is a bubbly older man ! he is hilarious and he makes statistic fun and exciting !statistic was super easy ! if you love math it should be for you too! he gives plenty of ways to get extra points ! took him for the summer lectures long but it was a 10 week class.! very clear! the reviews are the test with different numbers super easy!
really good professor, assistance is not mandatory at all. He explains the stuffs as many times as you need it, and has a cool grading system.
I'd go to lecture and feel it out before purchasing the book and MyStatLab. I barely used either and still managed to get an A. Attendance isn't mandatory but it's in your best interest to show up to class. If you can manage an A average on the 4 tests, you don't have to take the final. I think he's pretty funny and kept stats interesting.
I have taken his class for Differential Equations. He gives 4 tests and 1 final. However, if you obtain an A average, the final will be optional. He gives partial credit for his tests and tries to see how the student approaches the question compared to the actual accuracy of the answer. Its best if you attempt all questions.
Great Professor. Even if you are not good at math he will make it easy to understand. He is pretty funny and I will most definitely take him again if I needed too. 4 Tests only, Only have mymathlab HW, no textbook needed, and if your test average is an A from all four tests you do not have to take the final. Passed with a B
lectures are disorganized and scattered. I tried to follow with my book open to the chapters discussed and it is just unclear. He provides optional online HW. I recommend you read the book and do the HW or else YOU WILL NOT PASS! I read all the time and did HW and got A's. The person next to me didn't. You have to teach yourself.
Very good professor, this review is for Mac 1147, Mac 2311, and Map 2302. I would have taken him for Mac 2312, and Mac 2312, but he wasn't teaching. There are 4 test,if you average above 90 then you can opt to not take the finals. HW is optional, if done, and it benefits your grade then it will be added,it doesn't replace test. Lectures & review KEY
Tests are pretty easy, he tells you exactly what's going to be on them.
He is a funny guy. Sometimes he makes mistakes on the board but he really knows math. I felt a little bit lost sometimes, but he will teach u again if u ask. Tests are long and tiring, but if u study his reviews and do the exercises you can get and A. Homework is optional, but u should do it to make sure u understood everything before the test.
I've taken three classes with Henderson and have enjoyed everyone of them! Keep up with the work and stay attentive and you'll do well. Homework is optional and the rest are tests. Would recommend to anyone!
This professor does not provide any supplemental materials outside of the class. You are left to teach yourself. He does not follow any type of guide he is all over the place when he teaches which is hard for a visual learner. He mumbles and has a very monotone voice. I do not recommend him. As you are left to teach yourself.
i took prof henderson for mac 2311, and it was the best class i have ever take in hcc. His class is very interesting, and he works a lot of examples in the claas. If you study all the example, you will do good in the exam. most of the exam questions are from the examples that are done in the class.
His jokes are funny, you'll understand when you're older. Maybe it's just fast paced simmer class, but hard to understand where he's goin with some concepts, plus he's a real life Rain Man! He should teach higher math classes, or judging dissertations. Too brilliant to be thinkin we're catching these concepts like he does!
Though I took this in the summer, he was a good choice for Calc 3, he made me not be afraid of using trig in calc. He made difficult concepts seem clear, and he makes subtle jokes if you pay attention. Homework is not required, but if you do it he will make it count as a grade in order for you to get an overall good grade.
Took him for pre calc he is super nice, but he is a terrible teacher. He goes through lessons super fast, and is all over the place. You have to be on top of him because he makes A LOT of mistakes a long the way so you may have to correct him. You have NO study guides or anything so you have to teach yourself. NOT RECOMMENDED.
He was a terrible teacher. He was all over the place and makes no sense. I went to class everyday and still did not understand without outside help and youtube videos. He goes off topic all of the time. This was the lowest grade I ever got in any math class. please do not take this class because the good reviews are only from the stats majors.
Never had any classwork. Only graded tests. No extra credit. Homework not mandatory but definitely recommended if you want to pass. Would not answer questions fully or in an easily understood way. Doesn't right down steps, does a lot of the work in his head and forgets students can't do that.
As a highschool student who takes dual enrollment, I find some of these negative reviews pathetic. All you have to do to pass his class is take notes and pay attention. It is easy algebra from there. He offers for you to skip the final if you have an A average (based off of 4 tests) and uses homework completion as an extra credit test grade.
Only grades are 4 test and the final. Lectures are super boring which makes it hard to follow. Homework is optional but definitely recommended if you want to pass. The course itself isn't hard but if you don't pay attention in class or go home and teach it to yourself you will not get a good grade.
Good guy but I had SO much trouble with this class. He was all over the place. Lectures are just him doing problems. Stood in front of the board so you couldn't see what he was writing. Graded by 5 hard tests. HW if done replaces lowest test grade. No EC. Canvas not used. If you're not good with math should you take it? Answer begins with a K. (No)
Class is all monotone lectures. He goes over two to 5 examples and then class is over. Doesnt use canvas and the whole class grade is based off 4 test. If you decide to do the optional homework he will use that in place of a bad test. No problem. Except the homework is very different from class. I do not recommend this professor what so ever.
Nice guy. Funny. Not a good teacher. Class is all based on tests. When asked what to study he'll tell you everything done in class and in the homework can be on the test. GOOD LUCK with that.. Made an easy class stressful because you never feel prepared. RUN!
Mr. Henderson is a very nice, smart, and funny guy. 3 tests and a final make up your entire grade (optional homework counts as a 4th test). Also, you won't have to take the final if you have an A average on the first 3 tests. He's also a lenient grader and will give partial credits if you miss something on the test.
Do not listen to the bad comments, listen and show up to class and you will have success, it may take you a little to adjust to his teaching style which consist of many examples. Follow the Formula sheet and you will have success, he does not try to trick you and has a dry sense of humor which is funny, sweet guy and NO BUYING A BOOK, TAKE HIM!
Hes a good teacher and hes a nice guys hes just getting a bad rap. His teaching can be a bit all over the place and occasionally his work is wrong (dudes a legend does it in his head) . However if you study the class notes and practice that youll do great. Do not go off of the mathlab or his hw its not as close to the test ?s as the former. GL
I am NOT good at math, however he made statistics very easy and straight forward. The tests are easy, and HW is totally optional. I took in during summer term and still found it very doable. I could've gotten an A if I didn't slack off.
Henderson attempts to be funny but usually fails. He will help you if you ask, no homework (optional for extra test grade), do not need textbook, he lectures and shows many examples as long as you copy and try all the problems you are golden! As a dual enrollment student this class is very easy even if you dont know math!!
He is nice. If you have an A average you dont need to take the final. He has a very monotone voice so be aware. The class consists of 4 exams in total. I would take again but not as an 8 AM.
This professor didnt break down material at all or explain it in any detail.
I took STA-2023 as an online course with live meetings. This class only had 3 exams and a final (NO HOMEWORK). If you have above a 90 percent average from the 3 exams, you don't have to take the final. Mr. Henderson covers exactly what will be on the tests during the live meetings, and he provided worksheets with sample problems.
The material in this class isn't hard, but Professor Henderson makes it nearly impossible to do well. There is almost zero communication, lack of clear test dates and class times, and almost zero extra work like review sheets, practice problems, etc. My class has had to almost beg for review days. If I could rate 0/5 I would.
Professor Henderson was amazing for Calc 3. Lectures were 2 hours and 15 mins, so class could get boring at times, but overall it was a great experience. No assignments- only tests. Will drop lowest test grade. If you average above a 90 from the 5 tests throughout the class, you don't have to take the final.
Professor Henderson had four lectures a week. As long as you paid attention to those lectures and participated, Professor Henderson's class was pretty easy. If you score higher on the final he'll replace one of your lower test scores with the final test's grade. He may get frustrated if no one participates, so be sure to at least try.
Don't waste your money in taking this course there is no communication what so ever with Professor Henderson. He gives 4 test with no handout for reviews. No extra credit at all. Does not grade homework or assignments. His entire lectures are very confusing you basically will have to teach yourself or get tutoring somewhere else.
He is very funny, but it seems his humor was too dry for most of the class, who took it seriously and got confused when he made jokes. As for his actual teaching style, he goes fast. I almost preferred to just make sure he recorded the lectures, drop off the meeting, and go back later to watch them myself so I could pause. Would not take again.
Took online/w lectures - during summer so was somewhat accelerated. Probs: lectures seemed disorganized & consisted of working one or two problems to take up the time. He didnt assign or count homework grades. Textbook not connected to canvas. I think perhaps tech has passed him by when it comes to online classes. Fun sense of humor
Prof Henderson is the WORST professor I've ever had. No grades in canvas yet (final is in a week), no communication whatsoever since the start of the term, doesn't respond to emails, doesn't post lectures, basically just disappears until the week before finals when he sends you an email telling you your grade. I will NEVER take him again.
Professor Henderson is a very merciful grader. If you actually go to the lectures and ask questions when you don't understand something you'll be fine. We were given an entire formula sheet for our statistics class so it was more about applying what we'd learned rather than full memorization. He's older so he does have a tendency to not use canvas.
You don't have to buy the textbook to do homework and you can skip the final exam if you get an A on every chapter test. Professor Henderson mainly teaches from the textbook, but that's what people seem to want in the more advanced classes. You usually get your grades back by the next class period, but he doesn't post them on Canvas.
Four tests and final. No extra credit, but the final replaces your lowest quiz grade and therefore gets counted twice. Exempted from the final if you have an A average. Rounds up (89.1 and above is an A). He tells you what material will be on each test. Gives partial credit for attempting test questions. Textbook in online PDF form.
The problem with this teacher is he solves a lot of problems in his head. Which makes it hard to fully understand.
This isn't a bad professor but the only things in the grade book are the 5 tests, the final, and extra credit my math lab. So you have to do good on all the tests. He is very lecture heavy and doesn't give out reviews. His class is just tough overall and if you don't study hard for his tests you wont pass.
Mr Henderson is a great teacher. Math is my worst subject, It takes me a while to process Math. His test are like the problems we works on in class. Seek help, Do office hours, Tutoring sessions! This professor is patient and will cope with you. If you don't understand a lesson just ask for help, and he will walk through the problem with you.
This was my first time getting anything above a C in a math class thanks to Professor Henderson! He gives multiple examples during the class and goes through step by step. He also reviews before any test to make sure everyone is one the same page and is prepared for the tests.
If you show up everyday and take notes you will pass.
The only grades are the heavy exams which are composed of very few questions making a single wrong answer in the exam worth 7+ points. The professor's lectures are extremely boring and disorganized if you ask a question he will start mumbling stuff completely unrelated to the question and will never answer you in a comprehensive way.
This class was a breeze honestly. The only grades are the 3 exams and the final. if you have a 90+ average on the cumulative tests, you are exempt from the final. The professor says dad jokes which were lowkey kinda funny. As long as you take good notes and look over the reviews for each exam, you will be good to go.
I love math. Professor Henderson teaches as if you are a math major. He goes very fast and solves things in his head so there are gaps in his explanations that you would not notice since the content is new. I have never felt more disorganized with my learning. The canvas is completely barren. I have wasted my money. He's a nice guy though.
Prof Hendersonhe really cares about his students. Prof Henderson tests are not multiple choice you have to show work each problems. In addition he gives out 4 tests one final for my first test I got 65, second 78, third 81, fourth, 83 as you can see I had some tough time in his class as long you focus hard study the material everyday you can get A.
no homework=no practice and his classes were very rushed and did not effectively answer students questions
His lectures are very boring, other professors make the content exciting. He does a lot of the math in his head when explaining things. His test reviews do not have the answers so you have no idea if you are right. His tests are done on paper rather than online so you cant review on Math Lab.
Your grade would be the average of 5 tests out of 6.Canvas is not organized at all. You can't rely on his lectures I recommend you use the one materials to get a good grade. Tests are hard and usually consist of 10-15 questions which means missing even one costs you a lot. With all the respect, not recommended.
He grades you pretty forgiving-ly however it doesn't change the fact that the tests are pretty difficult. I'd recommend because his teaching style is fairly easy to follow but if you miss a class you're cooked...
If u miss a class ur dead, lectures are nothing like what is in the textbooks which makes tests awful to study for. Otherwise great guy and decently funny dad jokes. Barely any online activity
Mr. Henderson is an excellent mathematician. He knows every page of his material and moves at a brisk pace. Mr. Henderson is also a great teacher who answers every question his students ask during lectures. Make sure you speak up! + Detailed exam guides + In-class review prior to exams + Optional online homework + Studying is mandatory!
He is one of the worst math professors in HCC absolutely bad at teaching. His class does not even have extra credits like any normal math class all he takes into consideration are tests and nothing else and he does every single math problem in his head even if you are average at math do not take him he will confuse you!!!!!!
Professor Henderson's class is challenging, but staying engaged and using helpful study tools like Unstuck ai can make a difference. Attend lectures, study the textbook, and be prepared for rigorous exams.
If you are not good at math and need thorough help, DO NOT TAKE! he rushes through problems, not really good at teaching. Tests are your whole grade so do bad on one good luck. He's a sweet guy but don't recommend taking his class.
This class was challenging, but not impossible. Henderson is old school, but wants you to do good. I paid for the math lab because I knew it would help me. I didn't rely on him as much as I did the text book. If you have motivation in school, don't listen to the other reviews on this thread. His review days are extremely helpful.
If you averaged 90% on all 4 tests, can skip final. HW not mandatory, but if you did 90-100% of it replaced lowest test score. Final also replaces lowest score. He makes a lot of old people jokes. Please participate in his class, he likes it when the class is engaged. Doesn't post grades till end of sem. Exams pretty much like review. OFFICE HOURS
Very intellectual professor and incredibly intruiging. I thought his use of math to deconstruct logic and consistency was very compelling. Also super chill. Work is general math so nothing too hard. Exams are easy if you give slight attention.
