Greg is an excellent instructor. His teaching style is phenomenal. He is very helpful and welcomes any questions. He is available and willing to help after class as well. As long as you go to class, you should get an "A". You should definitely take his class.

I rarely like math teachers. He does what every math teacher should strive to do; teach the material in an idiot proof manner. He is an excellent math teacher, couldn't imagine a better one. Great Professor. Had him for two semesters in a row because of how clear he explains things. His notes are informative and easy to understand, the homework might be a bit challenging but there shouldnt be a reason not to pass the class as long as you show up and take good notes.

Professor Greg is AMAZING !! He goes above and beyond to make sure you understand. You don't need the book,only need the access code for mymathlab. His tests weren't hard he did a review session for every test so you were prepared. Definitely come to class because you don't want to miss his note and his examples. DEF TAKE GREG FOR STATS !!!

Very enthusiastic. He explains the concepts extremely well. provides comprehensive exam review. Only complaint is that his in class examples are never anywhere near as difficult as the homework. I often felt lost when I worked on my own. Referencing the notes is useful only for concepts, not as a guide or even a point in the right direction.

I have never had a math teacher that was so good at explaining difficult topics as well as LaPlaca has. He is very nice and funny. He makes every topic clear and will ALWAYS help you if you are stuck. His homework is challenging, but if you can do the homework you will do good on the tests. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

He's an excellent professor, explained everything thoroughly, and graded fairly. His grading scale makes it quite easy to get a get grade as long as you do your homework and pay attention in class. The exam reviews made preparing for his exams much easier. Also, the text is near useless, I used the book only once bc I copied a formula down wrong.

Mr. LaPlaca is awesome. The best Math class I ever had, and I hate Math. As long as you show up, pay attention and take the notes, you can get an A no problem. Whoever said he isn't always the nicest must have gone in his Cheerios or something, because I never saw him get mad.... Really a sweet dude, fun class.

It's as if your understanding of the material, is that important to him. He's patient, prepared, on-time, organized and funny. I 100% recommend.

Greg is one of the best math instructors at CSU. Learning Calc II was very easy because he is great at teaching the material. If you go to class, do the homework, and study the test reviews, you should be fine. I would take any math class he teaches.

When you all take MTH 148, make sure you all get this man. I loved and enjoyed his class. I wish they would give him 149 to teach but unfortunately CSU hasn't given him the opportunity to do so in 6 years. He is da bomb!

I wish he teached mth 149, He super laid back and chill and willing to help, He is by fare the best math teacher I have taken during my three years in college. Test are not that hard, homework is 20% of your grade, attendance is 5% of your grade. He explain things super well. Do yourself a favor and take him asap if you can.

Greg is the best math professor I've had a CSU to date. I withdrew from math 148 last semester because the professor was so terrible. Like every math class expect a lot of homework. The class itself isn't the easiest, so attending every class is mandatory. LaPlaca is an understanding professor so if you ever have any questions just ask!

Great professor. Clear on topics, great at answering questions and his grading is easy to understand. He is funny, holds your attention in class, and always willing to help out. He even held an optional review session before the final exam- completely on his own time. I wish he was teaching the next class I need to take!

The best TEACHER I've had at any level without a doubt. His class was easy not because of the material but because he taught with clarity. I'm a communications major and I passed his class with over 100% because he was so good with the material. You show up to his lectures and you actually learn something, so I highly recommend him for any class.

By far, the best math teacher I have ever had in my entire life. I was a person who truly didn't understand basic math and within the first week of lectures, everything clicked and I actually understood the material. Because of him I actually can understand basic math concepts. I ended up with an A+, unheard of for me in math. Amazing professor!!

By far the best math teacher I've had in my life. I actually understood the stuff he taught because he does his job so well. He anticipates what students will struggle with and explains it clearly and thoroughly. He doesn't give any quizzes, unlike any of the other 116 profs. You can tell he really cares. Great personality, too.

As someone who has always struggled with math, taking a math class was super stressful. Math 116 is easier, but still was not looking forward to this semester. However, the first day of class he made everyone laugh and then proceeded to teach math in a way that I was never once confused. He's awesome! Would highly recommend

I hate math and usually am not so good at it, but with Laplaca teaching he makes sure you understand it and is an excellent teacher. I did miss some classes, and still got an A; I would recommend you do go to class though. All HW is online & there is no reason not to get 100% on all the HW because you can keep trying until you get it right.

Very great teacher and taught the class with great examples and was very easy to understand with help from the math learning center, homework was great buffer if you got a poor score on a certain exam. Kinda difficult but you have nothing to worry about, I would take again.

Professor LaPlaca is the best professor Ive ever had! Calculus II is an extremely difficult class, but he tells you from day one what his expectations are. He teaches the material in a way that everyone can understand. If you take good notes and practice problems outside of class, you will do great. He is extremely helpful and caring of his class.

Great. Had him for calc 3. He puts a lot of emphasis on critical thinking on calc 3 tests. If you just memorize how to do homework and the extra proactive problems, you will struggle on tests. Make sure to be able to connect dots between concepts and come up with some abstract parts to answer test problems. Easy grader, looks to give credit.

Greg Laplaca is a fantastic professor. His grading system is fair, he is easy to talk to, very accessible outside of class, and his main priority is to make sure you learn the material he teaches. Unlike some professors, Greg is extremely knowledgeable in math. Laplaca truly goes above and beyond to not only teach you, but get you to enjoy math.

I really liked Professor LaPlaca, he was really nice and understanding. If you have trouble with hw, don't be afraid to ask for help. I recommend writing it down and bringing it to him, I always kept my hw notes to review for exams anyways. While he isn't a hard teacher, calculus isn't an easy class. Try to attend every class or you'll regret it.

Let me say that Calc 2 is way harder then Clac 1 but LaPlaca takes it and makes it so easy that you feel confident on tests. He teaches late-night classes and is given full control over grading so he doesn't screw you like the other professors are forced to do. I wish he taught every math class at CSU because I would love to take him for other ones

Greg is super helpful and easygoing. He is really good at explaining concepts that I found confusing. I would recommend writing out any hw questions you're having issues with and asking him to explain it. Having the visuals help with A LOT! I write out all the hw I struggled with

Going into Calc 2 I didn't think I was going to pass. I went to every class and worked outside of class a lot on the homework and studying. LaPlaca really was a great teacher for this difficult subject. I would totally recommend. He cares about his students a lot and actually wants you to pass unlike many other professors.

I'm not the best at math but I was able to get an A, a lot of the grades come from online assignments, but with each one there is extra credit. Super nice guy, if you take this class you'll have SPT's which is a student lead portion. Good luck

Took calculus 2 thinking that it would be the hardest thing ever. Dr. LaPlaca makes things so easy. The best math professor and maybe even teacher that I have ever had. The only downside of this class is the homework assignments were annoying besides that, just do good on 3 of the tests and you'll be fine.

Great Professor, teaches at a good pace. Will help understand problems if your confused. Homework is easy and as long as you do the unit reviews you'll do good on the quizzes and exams.

The best. Kind, helpful, and funny! I am horrible at math, Greg will take the time to make sense of whatever your question is. His teaching style is amazing, sometimes he can be a little quick, but he makes everything so easy to understand.

He gives extra credit on all exams except the final. He also replaces the lowest exam grade with the grade on the final if it is higher. Every exam day he would review for the first half of the period and then we would take the test. Sometimes we would start the exam a little late. But he would still give us the full 60 minutes. Class was 2 hours.

Greg is a good guy overall and his class is pretty easy. There is a 3 or 4-question quiz every week and 3 tests along with a comprehensive final exam. He teaches you everything you need to know so no prior knowledge is necessary. There is a homework assignment every week along with extra credit opportunities. Very nice when it comes to retakes!

Professor Laplaca explains concepts very well. Extra credits are given if you complete the questions for the review. If you don't understand the concept, you can go to his office hours, and he will help you understand. Final grades are rounded up(Example 92.1 = 93).
