Miller made trigonometry fun. He had a cool sense of humour and didn't take himself too seriously. The class was not open notes or book and so we were forced to learn concepts that I'm sure we will all appreciate in Calculus. He gave plenty of feedback and was willing to explain things until we actually understood them : )

Super tough course, he explains the subject matter well. All you use the book for is the formulas, which you can get online for free. The book store would buy it back from you.

Best math professor I have ever had. The way he taught actually had me enjoying math. I also took math 30 with him.

This class is good for people who are intent on learning stats with seriousness. If your're interested in a major studying social sciences(psyc) and you want to be prepared especially for your upper division courses. Since most psyc majors will have to take at least 3 total semesters of stats you'll want to be prepared for your profession.

So everyone who is complaining that he is tough or that he grades hard is ridiculous! He is one of the best teachers I have ever met. He is always willing to help and can be a very useful tool outside of class. Math 130 is hard period. Dont let others blame the teacher for their lack of effort. They must learn their way, not the way of the student.

Hes not the best teacher for physics but he does know his stuff espically with the math side of physics i bet hes a better math teacher than a physics teacher in other words he is a cool professor since there was only 10 of us n the class he brought us pizza and gave us cookies what profeesors do that

It's very important that you attend every class lecture because Miller wants work on quizzes and exams done his way with no exceptions. As long as you pay attention and ask for clarification, it's an easy class even if you hate math. Not being hassled with mandatory homework and being rewarded with pizza at the end of the semester is also a plus!

Professor Miller's classes aren't difficult, rather you must be in class everyday and willing to learn. He gives 4 exams and daily quizzes. Quizzes are from what he taught from the previous day class. As long as you study the material and do the online homework you can receive an easy B or higher. He is strict on how he grades, you must show work!

Most certainly NOT easy. His daily quizzes, exams, and grading method is difficult, but if you study hard (hours per week) you can pass & even get a high grade. Keep up with hw and attend regularly. Although not much, there is some EC opportunities at the end, so pull through. Most challenging/awesome prof I've had at Rio.

All you can ask out of a statistics teacher. Spends ALOT of time insuring everyone understands what's going on and breaks everything down into steps. There are a lot of quizzes but they are exactly like the notes the day before so it's easy points if you review your notes. The quiz's actually end up being helpful for the exam also.

He is a difficult teacher no doubt. He expands your mind on how to solve the math problems he gives you. It's easy to understand if you're willing to learn. I wasn't good at math at all, I hated it, but he teaches a different method that is easy to break down.

Attentive to students, always checking that students understand. However, did not appreciate how his teaching methods don't match the txtbk & online hmwrk. He also held us accountable for hmwrk he did not cover in class, which I felt was unfair. Daily quizzes are helpful&should be used as test review since he doesn't give study guides.

Not a fan of his teaching style as far as trying to explain in too much detail about why are formula is what it is, or why an answer works or doesn't work. In my opinion it is too much information and rather get straight to the point. It's like he tries to talk about the philosophy and history of math, and makes it more confusing/boring.

One of the easiest professors I've taken. Many argued that he is a tough grader (which he is), but it's to benefit you for the future. He is very organized and you can fool around in class (when it's appropriate). His daily quizzes are fun and can breakimprove your mentality for the course. I would highly recommend him.

I don't normally rate my so called professors, but vibrant and articulate math teachers are hard to come by. Greg focuses on the fundamentals of stats and builds upon them, making the subject very accessible. A daily quiz is given to reaffirm students understanding and keep them from procrasrinatinGHis humor is also refreshing during dense lectures

You want to be successful in math? Take Miller. Period! A lot of complaints come from students with bad study habits. He wants to correct that, and share his passion for this often misunderstood subject. Quizzes are there to get you to study, and be on your game. This guy cares, even if he jokingly doesn't sometimes. Overall, highly recommend.

When taking miller it all comes down to how bad you want to pass (even if you're bad at math). Miller is by far the best math instructor I've ever had. Very annoying, you must show ALL your work or he will take points off. Expect daily quizzes and gives really long lectures, you need to pay attention or you will not pass. He does not collect homework.

Tough class but he was a great instructor, always made sure everyone understood the section before moving on to the next. He will always tell you to study hard because he's right, STUDY HARD his test are tough and there's a quiz in the beginning of every class. Overall, if you really take the time to study and understand, with no doubt you'll pass.

I took him twice, for statistics. I can say that he explains this very well, and has examples that make stats a lot easier. He has a great sense of humor, and is a likable person. But unfortunately being a great teacher, is not enough for students to pass, if you dont show up and study your 7uck. Go to class and study maybe 2-3 hrs before exam

Professor Miller is something else. He expects you to be very precise and clear which makes the class a little difficult. However, his class is definitely passable given that you really study. I didn't like that the online hw wasn't similar to the work we did in class. Miller has a humorous approach to teaching which made the class less stressful.

Miller is by far the best professor I've taken in my entire academic career. He really helped me understand stats and made it easy. He is very demanding when it comes to the exams, but study the quizzes and you will be fine. HW sucks because it's a different style than what Miller teaches. All in all, you will learn a lot taking Miller. Take him!

One of the best and most caring professors that I have taken; this class is not for the faint hearted and requires a lot of time and work but well worth it. Gives quizzes every class, they're great reinforcement and help with the tests. If you give this class the time that it requires from you, you will pass it.

As I am studying for his final I thought I might rate him. He is a incredible math professor. I have to say I have learned a lot in his math class. He cares and strives for his students to reach their full potential! Funny and somewhat of a smart ass at times but hes a character! BEST MATH PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER TAKEN! Recommend greatly!

This professor is one of a kind, I have learned so much in his class. He can be sarcastic but in a funny way! literally incredible. I will be taking him for Math 130! He actually made me actually love math. People say he's difficult but if you put the effort in and not give up you will succeed in his class! One amazing math professor!

I took his class last semester. He is the best. I use to hate math, but after taking his class I actually love Maths now. He's really funny. He explains stuff in very funny and easy manner. He cares about all his students, you can ask him as many questions you want. Beware of quizzes, it's all which you have studied in your last class.

Overall, he's a good professor. Notes are clear. Doesn't collect homework, though it is assigned. Basically if you don't pass his class, it's because you probably didn't put in enough effort. He really cares about his students, very easy to work with and you can ask him anything, he will make sure you understand what he is teaching.

I adore this professor. Took him for stats and he is so clear on what he wants in tests, assignments etc. Take advantage of his office hours! He his helpful but you can definitely feel the pressure to do your best when you work one on one with him. He is funny and overall cool guy. I recommend!!

Pt.2) Miller isnt difficult but the subject can be. He is very specific on what he wants so if you're not detailed on the quiz or test he will mark it wrong.

You have to study for this class! He gives a quiz every lecture. Exams are hard and he is very specific as to what he wants but this makes it easy because you already know what he's looking for. Do the online hw because they are pretty much free points and start studying for the final in advance becaue it's hard. Overall I really enjoyed his class.

Greg's a great professor. Pick him if you want to learn, but he is not for the faint of heart. Does not curve his tests. Rarely gives extra credit. Tough, but fair grader. Expects a lot from his students.. Get ready to give up 16 weeks of your life to studying. Takes awhile to grade tests though. Daily quizzes, but helps you study for tests!

Greg is very specific with how he grades but that just makes you study harder. He's not a awful guy he just expects a lot from his students. Avoid if you're looking for an easy A, but take him if you actually want to learn stats. Missing one class will set you behind, there's a few hours of online homework a week and quizzes every class. Tough course but he tells you exactly what he wants on everything. You will feel accomplished passing his class. I recommend if you aren't weak minded.

Miller is an incredible instructor and is very clear in how he wants the work done. If you're lazy you will NOT pass this class. There was a quiz every day, he goes over the answers and will explain the problems until you understand them. Miller is the best math professor i have ever taken. There are quizzes every class, but it only prepares you for the next lesson. Hes extremely specific on grading, but he tells you exactly what he wants. Listen and take notes. Great Professor who really cares about his students learning! As long as you attend class and take notes you will be fine. Very precise with grading but very clear on what he expects and how he wants things done so pay attention. Quizzes every week but he goes over the answers which help for exams. After having Greg for 3 classes (calc 2, linear algebra, and differential equations), here is my opinion. Attendance is not technically mandatory, he would record and post lectures on his website. Take EXCELLENT notes because it is going to help you in the long run. Make friends in the class because 2 or more brains is better than 1. Good luck!

If you take professor miller expect a very challenging semester. That being said, he is a good instructor. He tells you from day one what to expect from his class, and if you follow his instructions you will make it through.

He gives a lot of homework, & has a quiz every day but they're easy and prepare you for the test. He's a great Professor and actually cares if you pass. Anytime you need help he'll be there for you and asks you whether you get the material or not, if not he helps you. You won't regret taking his class just give him a try regardless of the reviews.

Lots of HW. Quiz everyday. Lecture worksheets and in class worksheets every time we meet. Prof Miller really pushed me out of my comfort zone. Even with a C I am glad I took his class. I would take it again, but I would definitely study harder than I did. He's a really cool teacher!

This professor is great and explains everything extremely well. The people who lowly rate him are likely too lazy to actually put in the time and effort into his class. His quizzes are extremely helpful because they make sure that you understand the lectures and stay on top of them. Although the class is hard, not a reason to blame Greg.

I did my best with Mr. Miller. So I had lecture homework, in class work, and quiz. I followed the rules this semester and follow the schedule. I know that exams are difficult to do that so I can spend time studying with quizzes and exams at home. The online homework that I had logged in is My math lab Pearson.

Amazing at giving lectures that are recorded. does not use Canvas at all. everything is on his website. The grading system is a point system so your grade is made by a few assignments. says there was extra credit but only did one EC opportunity my year.

I'll tell you why I got an A, last semester Greg the instructor told me each unit is 2 to 3 hours but for four units 8 to 12 hours out of class. A flipped classroom is I do my homework and then in class work. Quizzes that I reviewed before the class starts was 4 to 10 hours per week and exams I reviewed it was 11 hours per week.

For every quiz I study outside for a minimum of 2 hours, if these are harder and difficult for the quiz, then I study outside of class for 3 to 5 hours. For these exams chapters covered from what I learned. I studied 6 hours outside of class.

My professor told me all the chapters covered in the final exam and started 1 hour before the scheduled class starts. I studied 5 hours outside of class before the scheduled class started.

He's not going to give you an easy A, but he gives time to make sure you understand the material. Just show up every class, be actively listening, follow along, read the book, and rewatch his lectures. Fav: he posts his lectures online to rewatch incase you need to hear the details twice. The classroom model is not for everyone. Lectures are videos online to be watched on your own time, and class time is used to review the lecture material. Daily quizzes are given that are similar to the lecture notes. I found the honors portion to be better for me, as the final is worth less of your total grade, and we are given labs instead.

One of the best professors i have ever had in math, he is very clear and you actually understand the material, the lectures are recorded online, he is a tough grader but it's really on you, you really have to study and practice in order to pass the class, I had a D because I didn't put effort but trust me I understood everything he taught.

Greg Miller is a good professor, I just got out of High School and knew nothing about stats and he made me understand the whole concept of stats. BEWARE OF QUIZZES!!!
