This professor has to change his profession.
This guy is terrible. Wrost teacher ever!
He is the largest nerd in the world, his teaching is absolutely awful and his test are impossible. Some answers will actually have more than 3 digets in the denominator. Imagine a test where you get 134/3497 for an answer, after doing a page of work.
what the hell is wrong with this guy? I hope he reads these evaluations & improve himself because we have so much crap to deal with and the last thing we want is him! Do us a favor and quit..because you will be fired anyway! don't take him!
for the person who suggested Burger King: great idea; I stopped by to get him an application but the sign say "hiring friendly people" so clearley he does not qualify cause he is anti people.I think it has to do with his childhood he was not hug
I have a question for you: why do you do this to your students? Don't bring your home problems to us! Obviousley you don't like teaching and you don't give a F to your students...just find another job.
I dropped his class he is so boring and he looks like a soaked (wet)rat that remained out in the rain hungry!
You want to be liked;here is a tip for you change your attitude&start respecting people of other races&shame on you if you don't do that! You should act&speak like a professionl think of all the poor students that are suppose to be learing from you!
Really good teacher! He helped me so much. I think OCC needs more teachers like him. He knows what he is doing. He works hard for to make his class good. I think he is truly a great teacher.
Professor Moore has the rare ability to explain well plus he really cares about his students. Some people just don't care but he does. I am in 185 now and doing well, but I miss his style.
Wow, I didn't know about this website. Its so cool. Well I really liked my math teacher Mr. Moore. I think he's so cool! He's really a sweet guy. I would definitely take him again if I have a chance.
I can only say "great job". You are my favorite teacher this semester! I have learned a lot and also made some good friends in class. Its a good class and a good teacher.
I think some people who weren't doing any homework were not happy with their grades, but most of the class was quite content. He does his job. You learn. You move on with your life. Thats what its all about. I think he makes it happen, and understands.
Not bad at all! I would take him again.
No complaints!
Fair tests. Good attitude. Makes math really easy to understand. Good guy!
Excellent and nice!
Excellent! One of my favorite teachers!
The class was hard, but I think it the teahcer made the difference. He made a hard subject understandable. I have nothing but positive views.
Cool teacher! Good job!
He is very approachable. I practically camped out by his office and he helped me so many times. He is someone who cares!
Instructor tries but is not very good at all.
bad and unhelpful
Really good! This was my favorite class!
He is the cadilac of teachers! He's high class all the way! Take him for sure!
He made all the difference in the world. I am a returning student, and he helped a lot!!!!
He's the besst of the best! This is why I came to OCC for great teaching liek this!
I was in a day class where the professor blinded us with too many colors, but I didn't like him, so I dropped and took this class. It was much better.
Super-cool teacher! I like him! He is down to earth. He is not pretensious. He doesn't act like royalty. He is like a friend, but he is very professional and really knows what he is talking about
Perfectomundo! A class act. Really cool. There are no more superlatives. He's the real deal.
He a fair and decent guy. He is someone with integrity and he does a good of teaching. He is someone I can respect.
He's cool. I think he is really a decent guy. Some people try to pick on him, but he always keeps his cool. People can be cruel but he is someone who holds his head up with dignity and no regrets.
I think Moore and Arismendi are the two best.
not too good at explaining and long exams.
Great! A good guy.
WORST TEACHER EVER!!!!! DON'T TAKE HIM
Good!
Not good at all.
not too good at explaining and long exams.
very unlucky class
Fun class take him and don't believe what others say..He is a respectful professor!
not very good at explaining, don't take math 280 with him because this course need lots of explaining.
if you want to hate math for the rest of your life take his class. worst teacher ever
not that good!
very bad class!! don't take him
No Comments!
Doesn't know how to teach
THE WORST TEACHER EVER
pretty bad.
He is a good professor. His class is good if you are willing to study.
terrible.
This guy is from planet X. HORRIBLE TEACHER AVOID HIM AT ALL COST.
wrost teacher ever... I haven't learned a thing from this teacher.
Very unhelpful teacher who spends very little time explaining anything to the students. Don't take him!
the worst math teacher ever! I don't understand anything from him. i don't think he likes teaching as if he is forced to do it! for the sake of your GPA don't take him.
Hard exams, difficult to understand, doesn't expalin well at all and not very helpful if you have questions. I agree with all the comments here. Do yourself a favor and avoid him if you can.
G. Moore is actually a great professor. Unlike most of the teachers at OCC, he expects his students to excel, and awards students for working with discipline. I recommend this class to students up for a real challenge. Sit in the front (soft voice)!
Soft spoken and a nice person but cannot teach. I basically taught myself. I helped a little but not much in his office.
he is a good teacher only if you don't like learning anything. if you want to take someone who doesn't teach you the subject at all, and you want to fail a math class for not understanding anything on exams, then take him.
He teaches from the book. This gives students who misses lectures no reason to not know what's going on. Doesn't like noise though, and questions are asked at the end of the examples.
Very inflexible and rigid. He is somewhat approacheble and his exams are way too long.
rambles on about how he got a sword or something stuck up his behind during his time in russia...like we wanna know..other than that, the teacher cannot teach.
unclear
this guy is nuts. he definetly did some drugs at one point.teaches short cuts.he goes by the book,so its not that helpful. easygoing, dosen't care if you come to class, which is cool. and he cusses always and dosent care if you do.
VERY unhelpful. I can honestly say I have learned nothing from him. Everything I have learned in that class had been from my tutor. He Gets uneasy when you talk or don't understand something. I feel like he does not want to help students with anything.
Very lazy, always late to class. No personality. He gets mad if you get up to sharpen your penicle or go to the bathroom during class. hard test since he is not clear. He thinks that he is there to clear few things and it's student responsiblity to go home study and figur things out. Don't take him.
Talks about everything except math, flirts with the girls and cusses more than a sailor slamming his finger in a door. Lazy and doesn't want to teach, seems annoyed when questions are asked. Big hair
This guy is a joke. He thinks he can teach a class, but doesn't know****. If you want to pass a math 154 class, DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACH!!
He makes you hate Math. He is the worst teacher ever, he does not know how to teach.Do yourself a favor "DO NOT TAKE HIM"
Doesn't know what he is talking about. he certainly belongs to OCC's hall of shame and the worst of worsts. he has a thing for Persian and Asian girls too, so be careful in going to his office.
I used to love calculus before I took his class. He doesn't know what he wants from his students or what his students need from a teacher. He keeps talking and writing without caring if students could keep up with the material or not. Stay away from him.
He has lost his mind!!! crazy guy!!
Very unclear! Does not explain the material and has bad hand-writing, so you can't uinderstand what he is talking about. Writes down stuff and doesn't seem to care if the students are keeping up.
Really boring and not to clear on explaining the work.
Do not take a class from this teacher. He has been late everyday so far. Today he told us to take a break and he did not come back for 30 minutes. He is very unclear. By far the worst teacher I have ever had.
Good lord. Ditto. Late, very soft-spoken, mumbles while writing on the board, unclear, and unwilling. He's defensive, has poor teaching plans (like he's teaching for the first time everytime) and unhuman-like. I'm good at math and I'm not going to let him change that. Very inconsistent with timeliness and ruthless on quizzes. Steer Clear.
He is pretty boring, and he has something to say about everything.
Doesn't deserve to be called a professor. He comes to class 15 minutes late, gives a quiz which he will grade like a Nazi (most got 1+ score <= 1/4 after doing the hw), and writes random problems on the board, solving them without explanation. No graphing calculators allowed. Grade is 100% tests & quizzes. Horrible teacher. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.

BAD TEACHER. THIS GUY IS FROM ANOTHER PLANET OR GALAXY. JUST DONT TAKE HIM. ANYBODY BUT MOORE.
Class grades are based on quizzes & exams: speaking of which-->> RUTHLESS grading. His exam questions don't even cover most of what you learned. It's not like 1 problem is integrated or incorporates multiple sections. At times he just picks a problem out of the blue and it's worth 8-10points. MATH WAS FUN UNTIL I MET THIS TEACHER.
DEMEANING; LEAVES CLASS;LAZY
This guy is cool, helpful. I don't care what other people has to say about him, his tests are very easy. Most of the problems in the tests are from the homework. So, figure it out for yourself to see wheather you want to do the assigned homework or not. I gor a 99=A in his course and I had been out of school for 8 years.
WORST teacher I've ever had by far & WORST class I've EVER taken! I have 32 units, a 4.0, have never dropped a class in my life, and was forced to DROP his. He's so ABSURD that only 7 finished the class (didn't all pass) while there were 30 in the other class until the end. If it was the only alternative, I'd drive to LA for a better teacher! AVOID
bad teacher, spek too softly and cannot hear him. he semmlls very bad and needs a shower. i wish i had someone else.
Avoid this professor. Take Heidi instead. Never shows up to office hours, late to class, mumbles, gets lost in his own explanations. Grades very strict, do not expect to get an A or B, regardless of knowledge of subject. Expect to learn this on your own.
I seriously don't know why he's rated so highly. 2.5 is a horrible misrepresentation of his quality (or the obvious lack thereof). He's useless; you will learn more by staring at the ceiling than listening to his lecture, he will never help you understand material, and you will have difficulty earning a decent grade in his class. Avoid at all costs
By far the worst professor at OCC. His classes are consistently the smallest in the math department (check the figures in the online schedule if you don't believe me) and for good reason. Doesn't know how to do the math he's teaching, asks random, unexpected (and unimportant) questions on tests, brutal grading... the list goes on. Avoid if possible
Just horrible. If you sign up for his class, plan on dropping it, because you will. Trust me. Ask anyone that has taken him. I don't care. Just don't take his class. If you do, you will regret it.
Terribel... Bad breath
not good at all.
I don't think ppl realize that there are 2 prof's named Moore. This one's soft-spoken so he's hard 2 hear and not late..he gives quizzes the second class starts.Teaches just like soln guide-skips steps, doesn't explain & goes 2 fast. Also very inflexible. My car broke down on exam night,I had proof it was in shop but he would not let me make it up.Lazy
by far the most worts teacher i have ever had the teacher is really bad and has no business teaching. the man is crazy person and recomend you do not take his class unless you wanna teach yourself.
The experience was a nightmare.
THE MOST HORRIBEL TEACHER IN THE HISTORY OF HIHGER EDUCATION.
HORRIBLE PROFESSOR ive never commented on ratemyprofessors.com before and i just had to this one time because moore was just so terrible, he's late to class, softspoken, mumbles, has terrible handwriting, does not convey the material well, you learn more by ditching his class and goin over the material yourself, honest to god, avoid this professor
am in the class and i have thoughts of killing myself because the class is so bad. i dont recommend this instructor at all.
i dont know his teaching is very different, but with those corny jokes he is at least trying.he is actually very helpful if you go to his office hours. his hand writing is bad.BAD.but i like him.its just that math isnt for me i think i have a C in that class.
Extremely unhelpful. He almost seems to act offended when I ask questions. He skips MAJOR steps in solving problems and expects you to know what steps were skipped. He moves far too fast and doesn't seem to care whether or not his students understand the concepts; it's all about getting as much done as possible. AVOID HIM IF YOU CAN!
so bad is not worth writing at all. just take someone else.
bad experience, bad teaching, bad semester, bad school. nice man but not a good teacher.
Soft spoken/trails off/easily distracted; small writing; offers to answer questions [homework helpful] but seems shocked if questioned about section lectures; skips steps/doesn't explain things [even if you ask again-assumes you know or can keep up]; homework helps concept, but he makes the test/example/"pop" quiz problems; encourages partner work.
Great Math Prof, with a lot of experience!! I personally enjoy the class a lot!!! It is hard only because the material itself is difficult(face it, is Calc 3!!)Suggestion: DO THE HOMEWORK, and READ the textbook carefully!!! and Good Luck
probably the worst teacher ive ever had. doesn't explain things thoroughly, when asked a question he beats around the bush and mumbles, always late to class, just a horrendous teacher...would most likely be better off working in television industry, as the voice of kermit the frog on sesame street
Calc III. Very cool prof - you can talk to him about anything. Gets cooler as the semester progresses. Work your ass off and remember to ask questions. He answers questions from homework and this is crucial if you didnt get it. DO all the homework - or atleast attempt them. If you dont then expect to get burned really bad.
B-A-D=BAD!
I sometimes ask myself why I didn't drop his class earlier on to get my refund...Because that's what you would be saying to yourself too after you miss all the class drop deadlines!! Mr. Moore is a monotone, soft-spoken, careless, unclear teacher. His ways of teaching is pretty much horrendous. Please take heed and make no mistake now!
so bad is not worth making a comment...
Showed up late for EVERY class. Rushed through lectures in a monotone voice, while telling us how easy the material is and how we should know it already. His midterm had almost nothing to do with the homework. 2 people out of 50 got a D and everyone else flunked. His response was to accuse us of not studying. He took no responsibility at all.
AAAAHHHHH!!!! DO NOT TAKE!!!!!
This monkey is too smart to teach.. he assume everyone is smart as him.. You try to ask in a middle cuz you don't understand, he'll get irritated and go crazy on you.. if you want to pass or to understand... DROP IMMEDIATELY.. a full class on 1st day.. 2 week later half was there.. "i'm in it for the credit, but i dieing.."
This guy is a joke. He sucks as a human being. I karate chopped his a$$ after the semester. I received an A, but still think he has issues. you better axe somebody and take another section
Unless you're already an expert at the class (and even if you are), you're in for a world of hurt. Heed the warnings previously posted on this professor: he makes the class ridiculously more difficult than it should be. Don't take this class unless you're a math master and know the material already.
just want to be fair,i think people are just not used to his university style, that's what i expect from higher level courses, he is helpful but study before you ask random questions, i guess questions has to be somewhat intelligent. learn to read your math book and make sure you can do most problems! i found him funny, or maybe i am a bit nerdish
Negative*10^n Emotionally abusive does not teach, must learn on own. Some stormed out b/c of abuse and demeaning comments. Has only 2 yrs to tenure but Dean sees his PHd from Cornell Someone should stop him from continual student abuse 11/30/08 comment had to be his own Inexusable behavior DO NOT PUT YOURSELF THRU THE TORTURE!!
The worst teacher i have ever had. dose not answer HW questions. If this is your first time taking calc then i highly recomend you dont take him. he is always late to class and he speeds through the lecture the last 30 minutes. his grading is horrible and takes points off for the stupidest reasons. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!!!!
he sucks!!!! He wants to teach things his way and not from the book. He all of a sudden started giving quizzes before each class...cuz he thought it would help us..not clear..skips many steps..DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!!!!!
Possibly the worst math teacher you could get. He is anal about everything whether it's saying "bless you" when someone sneezes or not knowing how to do the homework. He mumbles when he lectures & skips steps & is condescending when you ask him to explain the problem to you.
I used to love math...until i took this class. You are better off learning from the book. He mumbles when he lectures and is anal about everything. Trust me when I say this is the worst math teacher at occ. He obviosly has no interest in the success of his students.
THIS CLASS IS REVENGE OF THE NERDS!!!!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!
NEVER shows up to class on time. gets mad when u ask questions and tells u ur wasting other peoples time to learn. he will never help u. tests are ridiculously hard and he grades like a nazi. if u fail, he will simply tell u you didnt study. spent half the class talking about dumb****. he will make u hate math. DO NOT TAKE!!!! HORRIBLE TEACHER!!
All he does is talk about random shiet like G6 planes, browse the internet to kill time. His writing is f ucking terrible. Asking him questions is useless, because he just won't answer them or rushes through the problems. His tests are fu cking hardcore. I thought the point is to understand the concept, not make it so hard that its unsolvable. AVOI
it had to have been one of my worst experiences in a math class. he made me feel dumb for the ways that i worked out problems. i WOULD NOT RECOMMEND taking him. he is simply too smart to teach
Took him for calculus and it was a nightmare. He wouldn't explain any of the problems on the board ever. I hated asking questions because he got so angry if i did. I did every extra credit assignment and came into his office before class every time and studied like no other and barely made it out with a C.
SERIOUSLY HE IS NOT GOOD TEACHER WHO EXPECTS EVERYTHING FROM YOU, I DIDN'T LEARN ANYTHING FROM HIM, AND THE WORST THING HE JUST COUNTS THE TOTAL 4 EXAMS FOR THE RESULT GRADE, HORRIBLE!
The exams/quizzes are fair enough although he is not an easy grader. But final was a nightmare......
Honestly, the worst teacher I have ever had. Took AP calc in HS, got Cs both semester and retook at Coast and barely got a B. Avoid at all costs. Always late, mumbles, scribbles on the board, doesn't answer questions, not thorough with hw, tests are ok if you have a good calculus background. Like all of us are saying, he should be your last resort.
There is some truth to the comments below. He knows his material, but he makes many mistakes because he is human afterall. I found it difficult to learn from the problems he writes on the board because classmates always point out the mistakes in it and it's confusing to backtrack and relearn it the correct way.
Do ur hw, just do the easy ones till u know the way to do them and u'll be fine, skip the hard ones, try them later if u have time. Make sure u know all formula to apply! Quizzes are hw problems. Exams may not be exactly, but very familiar to textbook problems. Attendance recommended. He's funny and nice. Lowest test replaced by final exam!!!
WARNING! Do not take his class. Yes, he knows his material, but it is difficult to understand him. His writing is messy and incomprehensible. His exams are horrible. Not lenient with grades. Difficult to understand, you pretty much have to teach yourself. Do yourself a favor and get another teacher or wait til next semester. You've been warned!!!
i think he's too smart to teach. calculus is going to be hard because it's a different concept to grasp and he doesn't fully explain it well. unless you are familiar with the material, i don't recommend him. just do the homework (also understand how to do them), ask him many questions. get help from the tutor
He's definitely not a good teacher, but I don't think it's fair to say he's outright bad. It's a college class, you shouldn't expect to have the material spoonfed to you. He's rude and condescending, but has a great sense of humor. Expect to put in a lot of work on your end if you want to get a good grade.
He does seem to know the material he is teaching, but he gives pop quizzes, tends to mumble while teaching, grades hard, and doesn't answer all questions. He's also monotonous and difficult to listen to. You'll most likely find yourself self-teaching. His class isn't the best to learn calculus, if you have trouble with math.
He does a good job lecturing and explaining concepts, but exams are hard as hell, the class avg never exceeds 75. Study guide helps but it's only a way simpler version of the exam. Attendance's mandatory, he does pop quizzes A LOT to make sure you're there. Only take Art moore for 280 if you're in OCC cos him and marta are both hard as hell.
You will have to teach yourself almost everything. He is not fit to teach linear algebra. Avoid at all costs.
DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. Take whoever else you can but do not take this guy, you will regret it big time and your gpa will show for it.
Does a good job teaching one of the most difficult subjects around; calculus. Most of math is abstract until you can start to use it & for most, applying concepts is the key to comprehension. If it were easy, everyone would be doing it, & it would be of no value. Am an engineering major & I use the ideas from Math 280 & 285 @ OCC ALL THE TIME!
He is extremely difficult and trick and is always late to class. His test are difficult and tricky! His writing is terrible! I can never read them. He never answers my questions. He ignores me all the time. Half my class dropped. The average for our class is a D on a test. Dropped to save my grade. Good luck if you plan on taking him!
Hardly ever in his office during his office hours. Comes late to class almost every day. Very unhelpful; he even tells the students that most of the time, you'll be self-teaching, since it's "required of higher level math." Almost daily quizzes. Tests are short but tricky.
I definitely do not recommend this class to slow learners. This professors assume the students know everything. So he does not even care to explain what he does. He always assumed the students should know this and that. The textbooks that the college requires him to use is not even helpful. His teaching is bad and the book is just as bad.
I have never left a comment on RMP before, but this teacher is so bad I feel it is necessary to let people know. I have an A/B but its cuz I know math, hes always late, tells you to learn everything yourself, 40/50 people dropped due to the fact that he wont help, he hates being there and then takes it out on the class through rude comments...etc
Doesn't have a set syllabus, so you cannot study ahead of time. Illegible writing and lectures are not informative or very helpful. Doesn't seem concerned or helpful when students ask for help.
Speaks softly. Doesn't explain what he is doing and just does it. I would only take this class if you are good with learning by reading the book. Because that is basically what you will have to do.
The class is not too difficult. He recycles questions from the book for his exams. If you are keeping up with the homework, you should do well. Consistently absent from office hours. Email is best method to reach him. Be prepared for class or he will ridicule your questions. No homework is collected and there are daily quizzes.
Never in his office. Doesn't reply to emails. Daily quizzes that you aren't prepared for. Homework thru mymathlab. Comes to class late and dismisses early.
Honestly, you should avoid at all costs. Very arrogant. Will never admit that its his fault that 95% of his students are failing. Took this class in high school. Got a B and an A. Right now I'm failing his class. Very unclear. It's obvious that he could care less about teaching. Gets examples wrong and tells us that we have to figure them out alone
Please do not take him! He absolutely does not care about teaching. On the review date I asked him a question and he said, didnt I already do this? well, dont you do things AGAIN on the review days???? DONT TAKE HIM NO MATTER WHAT? DONT TAKE HIM EVEN IF THAT MESSES UP YOUR SCHEDULE, BECAUSE EVENTAULLY HIS CLASS IS GONNA MESS UP YOUR GPA. UR CHOICE
He is a good professor although lots of students gave bad comments. You don't need to take the final if you are happy with your grade before it.You will get an A if you understand the homework he assigned. Show up at the review class, because it is very helpful. Not a lot homework. There will be 4 short exams and a final. You can take your time.
This guy will mess up your gpa. He will not help not does he care. Thanks to him I have a bad grade on my gpa and I've always been an a b student
He is not super easy. If you take his class, you have to work hard to earn an A. He gives short quiz based on homework everyday, so it's better to do all the homework and ask questions the day after. He always gives you time to ask questions. The exams are fair and basically are from homework. I recommend his class if you really want to study.
goes very fast through lecture, and does no go over or ask if we have any questions on hoomework. Then throws a quiz at us right when class starts.
I took him for 180 and I thought that class was much harder than this class. I think he began make the tests easier people werent signing up for his class. Anyway hes probably not the greatest teacher, he briefly goes over what you need to do in class but if you want an you u have to teach yourself using the book. Tests were based on HW and quizes.
Do homework in time. focus in his class will be an easy class.
took the hybrid class. His test were more difficult than the homework he assigned. Test are about 5-10 questions. no multiple choice. Test are most of your grade. you don't have to attend class, but if you do he gives very little extra credit. I got a C.
Very egotistical, rude, and disrespects students. Doesn't explain anything very well (you're teaching yourself) - offers lots of extra credit (70% of class failing). Lots of little quizzes; harsh grader on tests. Tests are fairly short, but he lacks teaching ability. Very intelligent man though. Will never take again. Not bad if you already know it
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE TEACHER! I ultimately received an A, because I worked hard, but he is really such a rude man! He does not care about helping his students or even being polite. He was so awful, I'm sure there are better math teachers so definitely avoid this class!
Really bad instructor. He is terrible at explaining concepts, and can be rude to those who are struggling with the class. He starts advising students to drop the class early in the semester if they are achieving below a C or below, versus, letting them stick around to try to improve grade.
Unlike any of the rating posted below, he's not a bad teacher. His classes are difficult but calculus is never an easy subject. So if you guys slack off and don't do your hw, you ARE going to fail. Be sure to do your hw and ask him questions that you don't understand. Textbooks are available online
This guy is a bad teacher. His lectures don't make sense, he is pretty rude and goes off on tangents. He does answer any question you ask him, but the way he solves the problem does not make sense. His tests aren't too bad, just this instructor.
Calculus is hard, not the class. Any math class needs time and effort, his tests are like his homework. If you have any questions ask him, and he'll help. He's nice and humorous; doesnt make his class boring.Just study and practice, you'll do fine.
He's clear, friendly, and helpful when you ask him for help. If you ask him during a blue moon that is. Other than that it is the same as any other class.
His lectures consists of 1 or 2 problems of him doing it himself without explaining how to do it and leaves it on the board for you to figure out. He usually goes off on some random conversation-mid lecture-about a random story that pops up on his head. He never explains how to do them, nor does he help anybody with questions about the problem.
the way Mr. Gregory does will make you confused at first, but all you need to do is follow his steps and do all homework, so you can easy to pass the class with a B. book is so necessary. if you want to take an A, just look back the example, some question will be same as the ones he gives.
Greg has a bad reputation at OCC, but I personally think it is unfounded. The classes he teach are among the hardest ones offered here, so naturally more people struggle. He makes students turn in HW for grades, which is a GOOD thing if you think about it. He may be a little bit of a jerk sometimes, but he does want students to succeed.
He teaches at the minimum requirement for Calculus 2, so you can get a good grade without studying so hard compared to other Cal 2 classes. you will have time in class to do the homework. Bonus for forming study groups. He gives quizzes everyday. His lectures are so confusing if you listen at the first time. Later on, it will be fine. SELF STUDY
I took Calc2 and Linear Algebra from him. I hated him at first BUT then I started to like him towards the middle of the class. He has pretty good understanding of his subjects. He clarifies things pretty well. Gives homework that are pretty useful. Well prepares you before exam, descent grader. I decided to take his Calc 3 from him.
He assigns hw that counts towards your grade (hw load isn't that large). There are quizzes that also count for a grade. The final is optional. There are 5 exams. His exams are fair. I got an A.
He is a tough teacher and can seem a little harsh but calculus is a hard subject. This teacher knows his material but does go fast. Make the sacrifice and study! . I wish I could Calc 2 from him, even though he grades tough I learned so much from him. Don't be put off by his demeanor, ask questions and do what he tells you to and you will pass.
If u take him, u have to study by yourself cuz his lectures were unclear, unorganized.
Beware of his quiz, some quizzes were easy but some pop-up quizzes were so difficult and he never taught in class. He was irresponsible, which he taught minimum requirements, sometime just write some formulas. Probably, you need to learn by your own and read textbook to pass the class.
Calc 2 is a tough subject. You can't just expect to you'd learn everything just from the class. You'd really need to study outside of the class. His homework is really helpful, but if you don't do it, you most likely wouldn't pass. If you skip class at least once, your chance to pass would go down by 1/3. It is important to attend every lecture.
Hardest Final I have ever taken in my life. Most students failed the final. I am a straight A student but his class just killed my GPA. You will have to turn in home work for grade (which is a good thing) No Curve, Not Recommend.
In my years at OCC I have never encountered what I would call a "bad" professor... that is until I took this class. From the first day it became very apparent on what kind of "teacher" he would be. He "teaches" in a way where he seems to think everyone already knows the material. Purely self study off the assigned homework. Stay away if possible.
This professor does not deserve even a 1 star rating. He is one of those professors that belittles you in class because you don't know something. Math is built on other classes and he should be more helpful if you just forgot a little concept. He teaches the whole class as if you have taken the class already. His final was so tough no one passed.
Professor Moore is really smart and amazing. I'm not sure why some students dislike his teaching methods. Exams are fairly straightforward, he is a hard grader but he is also there to help you. The deeper you get into the subject the harder it gets. Study hard so that at the end the final will be optional.
Gregory Moore's phenomenal when it comes to mathematical discussions, as he's an ocean of knowledge when it comes to mathematics; however, he fails to fully engrave his lessons in his audience's minds. His classes consist of lectures and YouTube videos, which can be fun; but, with little to no class activity, it's easy to fall behind and fail.
idk y so many people have hated on Moore but i actually like the way he teaches. if u ask him a question he will help u understand the answer instead of just giving it to u. Unless u ask the same question 2 or 3 times is when he'll give u a broad answer. very smart & can talk for hours about math. put the effort & he'll push ur grade. Be friendly.
THE ONLY MATH CLASS THAT NEEDS PRESENTATION. What the??? Can't understand his exam questions, which is totally different from the book. HATE HIM.
Professor Moore was a great. His lectures were easy to understand and he was available outside of class! He gives you extra credit opportunity and is available when you need something explained. I actually really enjoyed this class and this is coming from a person who hated math. Do the HW and attend class and you'll be fine!
The WORST "professor?!" I have ever seen. Please please DO NOT take his class. He does not know how to teach and cannot solve hw in the class himself. He also says that there is going to be EC for group studies but he never give you any point. His grading is the worst and does not care if yo have the correct answer. He hears weird sounds in class!
If you want to fail Calculus, this is the class for you! The teacher provides a 4 day warning for exams and doesn't use any online form of keeping the class posted of grades and homework assignments. He's the worst teacher I've ever had. Literally doesn't know how to teach and get this. POP QUIZZES on stuff you probably won't understand.
He's not as awful as everyone makes it seem. He does go over the material pretty fast but he does a lot of examples and he tries to give easy problems on the test.
The class was not bad. Most who drop the class are students who don't care. The outcome of your grade is on you too! Not just the teacher. He does go fast but most is understandable and he always stops and asks whether anyone has any questions about what was explained. Exams are not hard. He pretty much gives you the exam in reviews, just diff Q's.
He does not teach and is very rude. His teaching is vague its better to get a tutor and come to test . Does one ques and then goes on youtube and watches videos. Talks a lot about everything not related to math. To be short dont take him he is just going to set you up for failure and you will learn nothing. Disorganized, honestly no teaching

Second time taking this class and the worst professor ever. i had to get a tutor to get an A. IF U CARE FOR YOUR GPA AND YOUR KNOWLEDGE IN MATH . DO NOT, I SAY , DO NOT TAKE HIM. Very poor teaching skills, vague and non specific lectures.
Awful, first off the way he teaches is very bad, he stands in front of the white board while solving problems so you can not see what he is writing. Homework is all online. Don't take him. He never posts grades! So, if you are on the edge of failing you will not be able to know unless you ask him and usually he gives you a hard time for asking.
Took him for 180&185. Tough grader, rude, doesn't like to be corrected, goes through examples fast and unclear sometimes. You must do all homework, do well on all exams so you don't have to take the final. Doesn't post grades on Canvas until the last final. Honestly, don't take him if you're not willing to learn Calculus. He will fail you.
Gregory Moore is a tough professor with a very tough and twisted exam. His lecture is confusing and he makes a lot of mistakes. His exam review is a hit or miss. His exams have a lot of twisted problems that only few will get it. Though he has optional exam, I would recommend NOT taking it because it can drop your grade.
