He tries his best to explain things to you. He doesn't assign HW just one paper. His tests aren't cumulative and he's very easy going.

This is one of the best professors here in the brentwood campus. he is fairly easy and he gives 3 test and one research paper (which is a pain) he helps you with the paper if you meet with him and the tests are not cumulative. i enjoy his class and im taking him next semester

Seriously one if the BEST teachers at sccc. Class was relatively easy, alot of notes, 3 test and a research paper . Alot of opportunities for extra credit & hes very helpful. Hes also quite the comedian so class is never boring. My favorite thing about taking his class is that he always starts off asking .. Does anyone have any news ? Lol

Got an A on term paper, and upper 90's on all tests dont own the textbook the questions on the test are strictly from notes even though he tries to tell you that you need the textbook. Dr. Ryan is an awesome teacher. I really enjoyed going to his class. 3 tests, 1 paper. The only thing I wish is that he gave more extra credit so you would be able to pull up your grades if you didn't do too well on his tests, since they're pretty hard. He gives no homework though which is a plus. Be prepared for a lot of laughs.

I had Ryan for 101 and took him again for child psych. Seriously one of the best and funniest professors Ive had! His papers seem tough but he is very descriptive of what he's looking for. He definitely is a tough grader and his tests are medium level when it comes to difficulty. Makes me to pursue psych, if only he could teach all psych courses

So I heard from several students that he's a great prof. and so i decided to take it. Best decision I've made this semester for choosing professors. He cares for the students. I doubt you'll fall asleep in class because he's also pretty funny. He has about 3 tests and one essay. tests ARE NOT REPEAT NOT cumulative! when ur done ur DONE. Good guy!!

He is an AMAZING teacher. I highly recommend him. But he only gives three tests and one term paper (each worth 25%) and his tests are EXTREMELY difficult. You need to study for his exams or you will fail them. But he is such a great teacher so don't let that scare you away. He is always willing to help you if you need it.

He's funny & addresses students by name. More than willing to offer help/answer questions/review. There were 3 non-cumulative tests & a paper. The paper gave me valuable insight on myself. :-) I found the textbook wasn't too helpful, so I just got involved with lectures and took thorough notes and did well. I would take his other classes. He is a tough grader, however he gives a extra question in his tests that gives you 10+. He is willing to help you whenever he can. Start the paper early and study really well. His test questions can be very tricky.

Professor Ryan is one of the funniest professors I have ever had, everyday I would look forward going to his class because he is just a happy person. His class is all lectures and note taking though, so please make sure you don't skip class because you will miss a lot and his tests are some what hard too but you will definitely enjoy taking him:)

I had Professor Ryan when it was his 1st semester teaching (2013). He is hilarious! He had a ton of examples and stories that correlate to the material (or sometimes not). There is 1 paper due and he will help you with it, so make sure you get it done early and see him during his office hours! Test were not hard, just study off the study guide.

Dr. Ryan's classes are always great. You'll never want to skip one of his lectures - the material is interesting and he's a fun guy. However, there is a bit of a disconnect between the difficulty of the material and how breezy the classes are. Dr. Ryan's classes are tons of fun, but for sure, study hard if you take him. 3 tests, 1 paper.

Funny guy and very well respected by his students; day 1 he hands you the information about the papers youll be writing (there are only 3) in the syllabus and tells you that a textbook is not required.

I had Professor Ryan for my Psychology 101 course. His lectures are clear, organized, and provide examples. He gives three tests and a final (research) paper that he makes due in parts throughout the semester. Oh, and there are no makeup tests or extra credit assignments!

Professor Ryan is one of my favorite professors. Very clear on expectations for assignments and his lectures are very interesting. During Covid, he provided video lectures which I recommend taking notes on for a quiz at the end of the week. Expect 2 weekly assignments based on the readings and lecture. Nice guy, would take again.

I took his honors course; the structure was solid and the routine was easy to follow. Lecture, two discussions, and a quiz every week. His lectures were very interesting; if you take good notes and read some of the text for the discussions its an easy A. He is really passionate about psych and encouraged me to learn more about the subject. A gem!

Loved this professor! He's a very hilarious and caring professor with highly engaging lectures. He's generally adored by everyone in my class and there have plenty of cool discussions. Online, he has multiple guides to help out students who may need assistance with their research paper (only one with plenty of time to complete) or study for exams.

Prof Ryan is a very cool professor, and I really enjoyed his lectures. Took his class as part of my HCS degree work, and he aroused my interest in psych. Lectures were based on what he said, and he would tell us what would be on the exams. In total, there are 3 essays and a few exams. The only tricky part of the exams was the way he would word it.
