Very easy class. No tests ever. two papers and three powerpoint presentations. I didn't do either paper and I am still going to pass his class. Half of your grade is attendance. He makes class fun. He welcomes openminded people and always has funny things to say about his naked days at Woodstock.

Truly intelligent professor. I took his Art Through History class at University of Phoenix in Nov. 2009. I learned much from Prof. Shrout. I love his teaching style. Greg is easy-going, interesting, funny. Class participation is a big part of your grade. Easy quizzes, tougher essays and PP presentations. If you are a person who likes defined, structured classwork and tests, you might not like his class. He does stress writing well and communication skills.

Show up to class everyday with respect, do all assignments, and you will at least pass the class. He highly values good research papers and loves reading them, but bad papers are his pet peeve. You will learn how to write and present PPs. He's funny and passionate about what he teaches. Easy A if you put forth the effort and show up each day.

Shrout is a great professor. I am taking him right now Fall 2013 for History 111. You have homework every week that is online but it is just responding to some question not hard easy points! He gives 3 papers, not hard very simple. If you do not do the homework online you will pass with a C if you show up to class everyday. Easy professor.

He makes class so interesting that its not even possible to get bored, even if you hate history. There are lots of small group projects that only last the day, and they are fun. This class was awesome. It seemed a little intimidating the first day, but I'm extremely glad I stuck with it. You can pick your grade and do the work accordingly. G. Shrout's ECON170 class is the easiest class I've ever taken. His class consists of weekly quizzes, discussion boards, and the final exam. He only checks attendance on the day of quizzes, so there's no need to show up unless there's a quiz. The final exam as well as all the quizzes are open note/open book. He also provided a PDF of the textbook.

Ok so there are no exams or tests but it comes with a bit of a catch. You literally have a paper to type each week along with some discussions. I took a 6:30 am class with him and it was so chill. All exams were one essay question. (Dont worry it was like 5-6 sentences). Its impossible not to pass this class with an A unless you really try not to do your work.

I took Professor Shrout this past semester at the Canyon Country campus. We got an email about 4 weeks before we went fully online (due to COVID) that he had unfortunately passed away. He was one of the funniest professors I've ever had an it seemed like he really cared. ECON 170 isn't the most fun class in general, but he made it a lot better.
