He's excited about everything, which is motivating and cute at the same time. I've had two classes with him and he's still the best professor I've had in my program so far (best dressed as well). Love coming to his classes.

Took online-only class. No textbook but lots of reading. He's very informative and responsive. Quarter consisted of four assignments, a midterm and a final. Mess up on one and you can't get an A but still a great class and teacher.

Not the easiest professor, but you will definitely learn a lot. Your grade is 90% based on two take-home papers.

Hard class. Professor has high expectations. Grade based 50% on a mid qtr essay and 50% on an essay due the week of finals. Weekly Harvard Business School case studies to change things up a bit but if you fall behind on the material you will suffer when writing your paper. Papers are limited to 1500-2000 words max. Very hard to get an A...

The class isn't easy, but you will learn A LOT. His teaching style is a little different and he doesn't use any textbooks (uses case studies instead). I would definitely recommend this professor.

Hands down, one of the best professors i have had my entire life. Whatever he teaches you will carry it on for the rest of your life. I never missed a class because he is so interesting. He has a fun way of teaching and always gives great feedback. Class consists of writing long essays but its totally worth it. Take him if you can!

I had this professor for 3 different classes and really enjoyed his teaching style, the chosen materials, and found his lectures relevant.

Dr. Theyel is hands down the best professor I've had throughout my entire academic career! His class is very challenging, but you will learn a lot. His class is very engaging & his enthusiasm for teaching and business is contagious. I would highly reccommend this professor to anyone!

Professor Theyel is an awesome. His grades on participation, one midterm, and the final. The entire class is structured to help you complete the final, which is an essay. The midterm was 4 essay questions based on information I used towards my final. Take notes and ask questions. It's not hard to get an A if you put in the effort.

Professor Theyel is a very nice and intelligent man. But his class leaves a lot to be desired. It's repetitive with two assignments (midterm & final paper). Each class is spent on how to write the midterm and final paper. The poster below me sums it up perfectly. Theyel is a very tough grader on an uninteresting subject (emerging industries).

Super intelligent and enthusiastic professor. He will make you think! Interesting subject. However, lectures were repetitive and would get boring, but you have be there for participation points since it's 20% of your grade :. No textbook needed; he provides his own material. Class consists of a midterm and final paper.

Although I agree to some degree with the most recent reviews about the repetitiousness of his "lectures" and at times boring boasting about himself. He is an AMAZING professor, he challenges you and I have a lot of respect for him. He is very intelligent and successful in his own field and those are attributes I wish all professors could possess.

The best way to describe Professor Theyel is he is identical to Rob Lowes character in Parks and Recreation. I kid you not this man never stops smiling and he has the most upbeat personality I've ever encountered. Super nice but your mid term is a 4 question 750 words per question paper (take home) on an emerging industry and final is 2500 words

WONDERFUL MAN & TEACHER! He inspires you to learn by being humorous during lectures and possessing a high amount of physical & mental energy which you will see when you meet him. He's like a burst of fresh air, full of excitement. His teaching style is inspiring and he'll captivate your attention for the whole class period. You will learn a lot!!

He gives you his life experience about the business world. Agreed with the comment, his class is kind of repetitive, I guess that is what he is trying to do..? You will leave only knowing about certain "emerging" industry if you don't volunteer and ask about your own. Overall, enthusiastic, great professor, funny, passionate. Learn a lot.

HE IS SIMPLY THE BEST PROFESSOR IN THE CSUEB BUSINESS SCHOOL (PERIOD) He makes you use your brain in ways you never thought you could. His biggest benefit in my eyes is how he combines his real world experience to the classroom. Makes you feel like everything you are learning IS useful. If you have a chance to take him DO IT. Super funny, great teacher. 7 HW assignments 250 words each, one midterm, one paper. Start your midterm & paper early and work often. It won't be much of a hassle if you don't put them off until the weekend before they're due. Otherwise, could never ever go wrong taking a course with Theyel!

(Taken spring 2015) No Group work. Each week you read a case study and write 300 word response. Take home mid term & final that is based on an industry you research. If you do well on the Midterm, you can transfers 50% of the material to your final paper. ( not an easy A, but not impossible). He likes to see well written papers that flow.

Mr. Theyel is one of the best professors I've had. He makes his lectures very fun and interactive. He cracks jokes, he makes you feel at home. This class is easy but very informative. You do get a couple hw assignments but they're very easy. Attendance is mandatory as 20% counts for your grade but if you miss a couple classes you'll be okay.

Theyel is very funny and gives a lot of relevant information for the class subject and real life. There was a 4,500 word essay that is split between the midterm and final. He gives the week off for the midterm and final, and the essay is submitted online. There were also several short response assignments. Overall, he is not a hard grader.

This man is very enthusiastic and an amazing professor; I learned so much from this professor that I have implemented in everyday decisions. I would definitely take his class again, he has cases throughout the quarter, as well as a report on any selected emerging industry. He provided helpful advice during his office hours for not only the course.

Truly the best professor that I have ever taken. Prof. Theyel is extremely energetic and passionate about teaching concepts that are actually useful. He challenges you in a way that will expand your mind surrounding business and empowers you to succeed. A couple papers, class participation, and he helps you tremendously. Definitely recommend!

I took this class online and it was amazing. A lot of writing, but the subject and lectures are interesting. I'm a C+ student and received an A in this class. Weekly discussion boards, no quizzes, 1 tedious midterm paper, and 1 final paper. A lot of work, but fairly easy.

His lectures are like rant. If he planned them out better, the useful 10 minutes of a 50 minute lecture would be all he would have to do. Instead, he rambles, repeats, and beats points to death. Final and midterm are worth 40% each. Start work on the topics he hints at in his lectures early or you'll struggle.

Professor Theyel is an amazing teacher. He genuinely cares for his students and wants all of us to be successful. I enjoyed taking his class because of how helpful he is and how he has a great personality. Take his class!! You will appreciate his style of teaching and you will learn a lot from him.

I learned so much in this class. Professor Theyel makes you want to come to class and engage. Learned so much about emerging industries and actually appreciated the homework assignments and papers we had to do. No tests, the midterm and final are research papers you do. Interesting class, would definitely take him again.

Cheap text, he wrote it. Enjoyable lectures. Our mid -term/final was a paper written on an emerging industry of your choice. The only thing I didn't care for with him was he caught someone cheating, told us, and didn't punish the student. I work hard, nobody should be able to blatantly cheat and get away with it. I was disappointed in him.

Professor Theyel is easily one of the best teachers at East Bay. He wrote the textbook himself specifically for this class. He gives you the MT/Final on the first day so you're not blindsided. He will literally write your papers for you if you ask for help. Perfect class with the write amount of difficulty. He's also hilarious!

Great Professor, has lots of experience in multination field. Provides audio lectures which are very helpful. The book is interesting& discussions are easy. Bulk of your grade is midterm&final which arent easy so start early. He gives you about a week to complete them and are all essay-style questions. Learned a lot & would take again!

BEST professor at CSUEB! He teaches capstone differently by using real-life examples. He isn't afraid to tell you about his mistakes and learning experiences. I've learned more about FIN, ACCT, MKTG etc. from him than any of my other professors. TAKE HIM! You won't regret it!

LOVE this guy! I hope he teaches capstone again for future undergrad students. I've already told my others to try to take him if he does. I feel like I'm learning more than my other peers who are taking capstone with another professor. All they do is the capsim and tests. He focuses more on real life businesses and how to be sustainable.

He is a good teacher! He can digress alot from the class lecture, but you can tell he means well. He can get political at times which for some people may be off putting (wasn't for me). For capstone, he makes you create your own business from the ground up which is alot more engaging than doing a stupid simulation. CSUEB should take note here.

BEST MGMT PROFESSOR AT EAST BAY!!! I LOVE THIS GUY! You are graded on 6 cases, midterm, final, and participation. You don't do that simulation that everyone else does. You focus on researching and creating your own business. So much more useful in my opinion.

He focuses on a lot of written assignments with word limits. He cares about the answer and not how many words it takes to express your thought. To get a better grade on the cases go straight and answer it. Don't use unnecessary filler words. Also start your project immediately. Go to his office and email him. He navigates you.

Be ready for: - NO QUIZZES - NO STIMULATIONS - NO GROUP PROJECTS - NO TEXTBOOKS - NO EXAMS All you would have to do is come to class, participate as much as you don't want to. Complete the 250 words assignment every other week, and the 2 writing assignments 1500 words each. I'd take him again.

Professor Theyel is an amazing educator! His classes are always engaging, and the ideas learned in class are enlightening. Professor Theyel knows each of this students and devotes so much time and effort for the betterment of his students.

I took professor Theyel online for MGMT385 International Business. I really enjoyed his class. There is a lot of reading, but the plus is that there was only 7 assignments (500 words or less) and a final paper (1500 words min). Make sure to complete assignments on time because he does not accept late work. Also make sure to read the case studies.

This class was not hard at all !! We had three exams, which were research papers. Definitely, get ready to write.

Professor Theyel offers lectures and helpful powerpoints to understand the material for the class. The assignments were fairly easy and the book was helpful for referencing, but I didn't read each chapter weekly. Fairly easy class if you put in the time.

Good professor. He does require writing to be submitted every other week, 500 words. Not a very difficult class if you make sure to answer the prompts well and cite your sources. I enjoyed the articles we read about. No homework and one research paper do as the final. I would definitely take him again. Be ready to read and listen to his lectures.

He was a great teacher I was in his three hour long class we will always get out within two hours or 2 1/2 hours total. Great teacher Im in his class again in Fall

Professor Theyel was great. He is very caring about his students. He is a big people person. If you participate constantly you will be fine in the course. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about emerging industries. He like to crack jokes also in class. Which lightens the move. I would 100 percent take him again.

Theyel is the best professor in CSUEB's business department. His classes are incredibly well organized, assignments follow real-life cases, and Theyel himself brings a wealth of real-life experience to lecture. His grading is incredibly fair, with weekly feedback and examples. His emphasis on focused coursework is good prep for the real world.

I took professor Theyel in Spring of 21' and his class was one of my favorites. He brings a positive attitude and he is very clear on what he expects for his assignments. If you have a chance to take him I would 100% recommend him

Really nice guy, you can tell he's super passionate about what he's teaching and connects material to modern day cases! 20% of grade is "participation" but he allows you to send him emails to make up for missed days. 5 written assignments (500 words) and 1 final paper (1,500 words max), he usually tells you what he's looking for. Highly recommend!

Dr. Theyel is easily one of the very best professors I've ever had. He is brilliant and passionate. He creates an environment in his class that gets everyone engaged. Participation is required but the way he does it gets you invested in the class. He's charismatic and funny and shares his practical experiences in business.

Professor Theyel has been my favorite teacher by far. There are various reasons why I would recommend anyone to take one of his courses but to begin he is understanding and genuinely cares about each and every one of his students. Unfortunately, this will be his last semester at CSUEB. I am beyond grateful I was able to take two courses with him.

Theyel gives clear easy to understand video lectures, and the class is well structured. The majority of assignments are writing however there is a word limit to his assignments so it's not bad. If you listen to the lecture, read the book, and put forth a good effort, you will get an A easily Take him over others

I enjoyed how straightforward his class was. You have a discussion due every week, six case studies, and a final paper. So, it's definitely important to stay on top of the assignments since there aren't many of them. Professor Theyel clearly enjoys teaching and the class was really interesting. Hopefully, I get to take another one of his classes.

This was my second class I've taken with Theyel now. Once again he gives great lectures, clear guidelines on what he's looking for, and solid course structure. If you don't BS your way through you'll do just fine. His feedback can be a bit generic or vague. 6 assignments/posts, and a final paper just like the other class. Take him he's great.

Professor Theyel was an amazing addition to my Monday evenings. He made classes very engaging and overall fun to participate in. He is very knowledgeable, always available to help, and really only grades based on your participation, case assignments (5 cases total), and final report. Definitely recommend him if you're doing international business!

Professor Theyel is undoubtedly one of the best professors at CSUEB. His teaching style is unique because it effectively prepares students for the workforce. The final project, worth 40% of the grade, closely resembles the work consultants do in real world settings. The class was engaging and highly practical. I strongly recommend it to everyone.

MGMT 370 is an easy an A from Professor Theyel, his teaching is also great and useful. All posts must be concise of 150 word count (10 total), 500 word count for each assignments (5 total), and 2,000 word count for the Final report. No exams or quizzes. All citations must be used through his own book or from the article stated in the assignments.

This is the first class I have actually tried, the teacher actually cares about his students, and basically gives you the answers for your paper. There is 5 case assignments and a project, the project is heavily graded but if you pay attention in class it is super fun and challenging. There is no text book just purchase current case studies,

Professor Theyel is hands down the best professor at CSUEB. His class was fun, and I was able to pick up a ton of useful skills that I'll use after I graduate. The assignments are very manageable, and the final project will require a lot of time but fun to do. I think everyone should take one Professor Theyel's classes if they're available.
