Awesome teacher, everyone should take her class. Shes fun, young, and loves what she does. She'll keep your attention. the class is alot of info, but its not that bad.

Awesome teacher. Really a hard class, but if you put the time and effort into it, you can succeed. Bernard does everything in her power to help you succeed. It's your own fault if you fail - that means you didn't do the work..she gives you everything you need. I got an A and I busted my butt in that class...it was hard, but fun and worth it!

anatomy is hard, also depends on the teacher to make it harder or easier, bernard is a great teacher, she helps alot. Don't take qasmieh he makes it harder than it is and his test is extremely hard.

Mrs Bernard is really a great teacher. I don't even go to MVCC, I go to Illinois State. After taking my last Bio course there and having second thoughts about my major, shes really been a refreshing new look on Bio. We need more teachers like her in this world.

An easy A if you have a good lab group and can pay attention in class! A very fun and understanding teacher. Joked around with her a lot. She was a great teacher to have for a hard subject like bio.

A well educated, fun teacher with a good daily routine. She carries a bit of an attitude towards younger students though if you don't get on her "good side". My only complaint, was the difficulty of practicals.

She is WONDERFUL! If your not entertained in this class there is something wrong. She is very funny, personable and knowledgeable. The practicals you DO have to study for but she really does provide you with everything to do well , she just wont hold your hand or baby you.

Gretchen is awesome! Shes really cute and funny and shes the sweetest lady. Her lectures are interesting and the labs are pretty easy. Her tests arent that bad either. Homework is pretty rare. She gives you alot of chances to do extra credit to make up for missed labs and just gto get extra points. I would definitely recommend her!

Ok, this class was great! Gretchen made the material and lectures interesting and kept us engaged &made sure we were always following along! Between tests, labs, straight forward homework, and extra credit this class had plenty of points to keep your grade afloat. You will find this class to be very stress-free as long as you stay on track!

TAKE HER. She is super caring and understanding. Not to mention a great teacher! Everyone in this class was treated with respect and she created a very comfortable atmosphere. Daily routine consisted of a warm welcome, announcements, a song of the day (youtube clip for points), lecture+ a lab which she always thoroughly explained. no regrets!

I had this at 9am, and I never wanted to not go. Bernard is a phenomenal instructor that truly loves being a biologist. Best teacher so far at Moraine! She is fun and easy to talk to. Her objectives are optional for extra credit but it's practically the study guide for the tests. Willing to work to get everyone to understand the material and make sure everyone is doing their best. Truly cares about how you're doing in her class. Like I said, SHE'S THE BEST!

I've taken her twice, and she is a wonderful teacher. She is very clear with her lecture. She is also interactive and interesting. If you do not have good background on the subject you'll have to put in a decent amount of work. But, overall, all the things you do in class are easy. She even helped me with my resume.

Very nice lady, and does all she can to help. Her notes are all Power Points, and are posted online in the blackboard. The only things I don't like about the class is the fact that she uses Mastering Biology and that her study guides don't feel that helpful. Everything else about her is great. She offers plenty of extra credit, so take advantage.

I took her for a second straight semester. 112 was a bit harder than 111 because of the increased amount of practicals and amount of memorization. She is a fantastic teacher who will do everything possible to help her students. My only complaint is the fact that she uses MasteringBio for her HW grade. I'm just not a fan of it.

Funny teacher who keeps lectures interesting. Grades using tests, practicals, labs, daily quiz questions, and online assignments that are very easy. As long as you show up and pay attention you should be okay. Textbook wasn't necessary but lab book is a must have. She also offers extra credit opportunities that are fun.

I came into this class thinking I'd hate Bio, and probably fail. Gretchen Bernard made me actually interested in this class, along with wanting to do homework and study. Class was fun, as were the labs. Very helpful as well. Must study though, because if you're not into science, the material is tough. Definitely recommended.

This is an amazing class if you are a beginner to Biology. She is always there to help students and answer any questions possible. The tests are always exactly what is learned and lab is always fun! Professor Bernard is literally the best professor I've ever taken in Moraine! She keeps her lectures interesting by displaying videos, discussing opinions, and doing little activities(credit). She's the fastest professor in terms of uploading grades on blackboard, most assignments are online, 20 extra credits in total, and no lab reports!

She is one of the only quality professors at this college. What ever she is getting paid needs to be doubled. She puts a lot of time into lectures and she doesn't rush. If you ask her a question she will give you a detailed answer. The only complaint I have is that the final exam study guide isn't the best.

Professor Bernard was a good biology teacher, probably the best for 112 but I don't understand the hype she gets. I thought I would end her class with an A but I finished with a B. Her tests are very difficult, and they're not much like the objectives. She also takes off petty points on labs. Other than that she is a very sweet and caring teacher.

Mrs. Bernard is easy to conversate & share laughs with. NGL, I never liked biology and was never very good at it. The tests are kinda hard if you don't study- you can use your study guide but it barely helps bc/ a lot of the questions on the test come from the book. I still passed with an A, never studied, did the EC study guide, tried my best.

Her lectures are some what helpful to study for tests, a tough grader when it comes to grading labs. She gives extra point chances for each unit which really helps your grade if you're trying to keep an A in her class. I don't recommend missing a lab or an assignment since she gives a 0 with no excuses which might dramatically drop your grade.

Prof Bernard helped me so much and really made biology fun. She does not allow students to copy each other during lab so you really have to do the work yourself. This really helped me learn since the labs go along with the objectives. Tests are hard but fair. Best of all she really cares about her students and spends time helping.

Hands down one of the best biology classes I've ever taken! She has such amazing lectures and labs that get you excited about biology. She even gives extra credit before each exam. The one thing is that you have to attend class because missing labs can bring your grade down, but she does excuse you once if you miss one lab.

The lectures are interesting and I really loved that she would split class into two sections, first half lecture and second half lab, so it's not 3 hours of lecture like other professors will do. Take your notes and you will do just fine because you can use them on the tests!

Prof. Bernard is a wonderful teacher who makes biology engaging. The lectures are helpful, and the lab assignments, while challenging, really reinforce the course material. For study prep, I found unstuck AI and the course textbook to be invaluable resources.

She's super well at explaining, she reads off from slides but goes alot more in depth and teaches you, her lab work relate to thee lectures in the classroom, she makes lab work entertaining. it can be alot of wokr but its pretty straight forward, and if you pay attention, you'll do fine

Science is difficult to me and professor Bernard teaches in a way everyone can understand.

She's a wonderful teacher and willing to explain any questions you may have throughout the lecture. You can tell she actually loves her job, loves to teach, and overall makes all labs and lectures an enjoyable experience. She isn't lecture heavy, loves hands-on learning, and provides study guides before exams. She doesn't put trick questions on them, so do the study guides!
