Professors like her are rare gems!!!!!!!!!!!! These is no surprise. She tells us what to focus on in the slides. Multiple attempts for quizzes and even exams. She tells you stories from her own life to explain topics. Due dates are just to prevent procrastination since everything is actually due around finals week. What more can we ask for!!!!!!!!!

Prof Chapa is one of the few nicest professor in York college. She is very caring and understanding. She really wants the students to learn well & pass the class with a good grade. Her lectures are fun and easy to learn as she points out during lectures what will be on quizzes/exams. She is organized & knows what she is talking about. Def take her!

I took her asynchronous class. Professor Chapa is amazing and understanding. She makes sure that everyone in her class passes. There is no excuse to get a failing grade. Read her PowerPoint slides and do the DBQ's every week. Reach out to her if you have questions; she replies fast.

Awesome professor. There's a quiz for every chapter & two assignments. Explains everything very clearly. It's easy to reach her outside the class she always replies to emails. The two assignments are not that difficult easy assignments.

Professor Chapa is FANTASTIC! She is an openminded, respectful, and compassionate educator. There are 2 easy assignments, weekly quizzes (all found within the slides), 3 DBs, and the Midterm & Final. This class was needed to fulfill a credit toward my Health Science Degree. This professor was very engaging in her lectures, provided us with a variety of materials and PowerPoint slides, and gave a sufficient amount of work. This professor is wonderful and would definitely take this course again.

Taking Professor Chapa's class during the summer was an absolute pleasure. Everything we were tested on came directly from her slides. She is always available to help and responds to emails in a timely manner, and the work wasn't difficult at all. Would absolutely take her again given the chance.

I took this class over the summer, online and asynchronous. All of the assignments were uploaded in the beginning so I was able to do everything in my own time. When I did have questions, the professor was quick to respond to emails and text messages. Assignments were graded very quickly so I always had a good idea of how I was doing in class.

She is an amazing teacher. I took her for Gero 101 in the summer and it was a great experience. I learned a lot. Also, she always you to retake the homework, midterm, and final as many times as you want. She answers back to emails fast, and she is very helpful. I highly recommend taking Gero 101 with her.

Took her for GERO101 in summer 2022 (4 week class). She's great! There is a family tree project which was quite fun to do. I would recommend taking her class.

If I could give this professor a 6 out of 5 I would. I took this class online for the spring 2022 and she was an above fantastic professor and is very respectful and open towards everyone. The chapter quizzes and tests are related to the powerpoints. You can use the textbook to help you, but everything you need is in the powerpoints. Her assignments are fair. She responds to emails quickly. Although I never met the professor, she seemed very nice through her emails.

This is a good class. It teaches you how seniors experience life so far and how we should experience them. The professor was quick to answer email and readily accessible outside of class. Her grading criteria was clear. Its a great class to take even if you don't need it for your major. Interesting topics. Do the work and you will get a good grade

This course was very clear on what needed to be done in order to get a passing grade. What I loved most of all about this class was the family tree project and although I was unable to speak on my fathers side she still made me feel confident in sharing my family tree. Professor Chapa is one of the best Professors i have taken at York she makes it easy to get in touch with her if there are any issues and we (the students) clearly understand what is expected of us. Professor Chapa is a great professor. The assignments she gives are interesting. PowerPoint slides are straightforward. If you get late with assignments, the professor gives you extra days to finish your work. And you have multiple attempts at exams which make it doable. If she teaches other classes, I definitely will take prof. Chapa again.

Not gonna lie, I was worried about taking a summer class but she was very good to work with. She's very accessible outside of class and she usually responds quickly. She also gives many opportunities to succeed in her class. Hands down one of the best professors at York.

I enjoyed Professor Chapa's class. The emphasis of the class is reading and doing the discussion boards in a way that actually helps the student to learn and understand the topics. Professor Chapa is also a great communicator and understands when unforeseen circumstances may occur that may make you slightly late with assignments

Amazing Proffesor!

The class overall was at a good pace and you did not feel pressured to complete all the quizzes at once. There was a total of 12 quizzes that you need to complete, but you had up until last day of classes to submit in all 12 of the quizzes. There was a family tree assignment that we had to complete. There was a midterm and a final exam also.

Shes really lenient with grading and is accessible a by phone and email. I would take her again

I don't know why people are playing with Prof. Chapa... but I took her Gerontology course over the summer and she is good at what she does. She gives a midterm, final, 4 DBs, one project and short quizzes per chapter. Her directions are very straightforward and she often communicates with students.

The professor is great. Gives lots of opportunity to complete homework without losing points. Can retake test multiple times. The syllabus was slightly confusing however the class is easy. There was a final, Quizzes midterm and 4 DBQ.

I took GERO 101 with Professor. Chapa in the summer. She is one of the best; she is very accommodating, helpful, and caring. The course is simple, and the workload is light; yet, time passes quickly. There are 4 DBs, quizzes, a family tree assignment, a midterm, and a final. There are several attempts for the tests and quizzes, which is amazing.

I personally was pleased to participate in Her class because I really like the way She went about things and value the several options She provided for us to easily pass the class. I was working an internship while taking Her class and if weren't the way she organized the materialI might have failed.

I would say this is the best professor at York. She gives great feedback and grades your work right away. She also gives you extra time if you need it which is very convenient. For Fall 2023 I had 3 asynchronous classes and she was the only professor that provided grades throughout the semester. Professor Chapa is Great.

Take this Professor! I needed an elective class and I decided to take this, it was easy. Do her DBs, be sure to cite and take her quiz and exams ( easy from the slides) and you will get an A ! I am happy I took this class during the Winter session. She is great! I also learned a lot as well. Easy class to take in the summer/winter asynchronous.

good class very helpful. hw involved a 3 paragraph response, summarizing a video, summarize slides and a story about yourself. 2nd part is responding to a classmates following the previous structure. there are quizzes and 50 question midterm/ 70 question final. If you study, go over the quizzes and notes you'll pass for sure. highly recommend her!
