I had him for Survey of Cal. and he is very boring. Russian guy that uses power points to teach math. Doesn't help you a lot if not sure how to work out a problem.
one of the worst teachers i have ever had! you cant understand him and he uses powerpoints. very scattered and hard to follow. if you ask him to explain he says he dosnt have time and needs to move on! never take him!

A positive point would be the fact that he could care less if you showed up to class. On the downside, his class is pretty boring, and uninteresting. He is not good at explaining things when you need him to. However, I found that his power points are enough for me. Medium Hmwk quantity, Tests are borderline medium/hard. Would take him again.
If you are good in math, take him. Class is not mandatory & notes are posted online. If you aren't good in math, RUN...& DONT LOOK BACK. His tests never have anything to do with what you learn in class or on the hmwk. Thankfully i knew my stuff, or i would have been like the rest of the class. He is boring too. But...don't care about anything u do
I have to admit that his tests are very difficult compared to the homework and problems worked in class. He gives you a list of practice problems that are not mandatory, but are helpful when preparing for the tests. I really liked him as a person. He is very sweet and willing to help you if you are willing to put in the extra effort to do well.
Difficult teacher. He is a good teacher and you will understand the concepts when you leave the class, but his tests are near impossible. He just asks so many hard questions and most people ran out of time before the time was over. People say this semester he is a bit easier but be wary...
Worst teacher ever,Try to make every test supper hard. "I make my test supper hard to see if have and geniuses" cannot understand anything he says or understand his power points. Do not take this teacher BEWARE!!!!!
He has a different accent, but its understandable. He gives homework after each class on mathlab. doesnt take attendance. has 4 tests and a final. he's ok overall.
He is a sweet guy, but he knows how intelligent he is. He never takes attendance, but showing up 2 class is important to ask questions. He posts notes online. Tests are extremely hard, but he curves them(gives several bonus points) so you should pass. Accent is strange, u barely understand him sometimes. but overall he's a good professor.
Seriously, one of the worst teachers I've ever had. DON'T take him if you want to actually want to pass and understand the material. His tests are the hardest, and I'm not bad at math and I have a C- in the class. He can be a huge jerk!
Such a nice guy! Class is really hard.Math is my forte & i had to work hard to get an A! DO STUDY GUIDES AND PRACTICE TESTS!!! I made notecards for formulas as well which was helpful. Also,save all your work to study for final.Final may have been the easiest part of the whole class.No attendance policy, but I was too scared to miss the material.
He's russian so he has an accent but it's understandable. I really enjoy his class. You don't have to go which is nice but the tests are based 100% on the homework so if you don't go and focus on learning from the homework, you may be better off but that's just me. Overall he was very helpful and I'd take him again.
I'm an all A student, however, this all changed when taking this class. I barely passed because I did not learn anything in class. He teaches math off powerpoints! His tests are online and sometimes are over things we did not do in class. No joke. He cannot explain material at all. And please be warned, stay away from his classes.
He is the worst teacher ever. He teaches everything off powerpoints. He begins off the class teaching previous math you should of already known then in the last 15 min he will get the point that needs to be covered. Everyone stopped going to class after the second week. Waste of your time if you actually want to learn.
He is so bad. I did not learn one thing in this class...Test=hard as hell. All he dose is put a power point up and expect you to know how to do it. If you have him I'm sorry for you because I did and it sucked!
Ok for this guy it all depends on what kinda student you are. He has an accent but its not that hard to understand. His instruction is ok, I definitely can't say I didnt learn anything. He's helpful too, but mostly after class of course. The tests aren't that hard, but they're not that easy either. You DEFINITELY have to study. He's kinda cool too.

If your primary language is english do not take bc you won't understand anything he says.. maybe if your from russia u could possibly pass. expects u to know everything before its taught and doesnt explain material. almost incomprehensible
Had Michalski for Calc1. He's a nice guy but tests are pretty difficult. Half the class dropped after 1st test. Wouldn't have passed this class without taking Calc in high school. If you do the practice problems on studyguide youll pass. His tests are to demonstrate that you've "Mastered All the Material". Will give you hw passwords which=polish #
Had him for Calc. I made an A in precal and a C in his class.Attendance isn't taken and HW is online ( only 7pts of whole grade).You will run out of time on tests but open ended part is worth way more. He is willing to help you after class which is probably the most helpful time to meet with him.
I would not recommend anyone take him for anything. Had him for Calc 1. Extremly hard class. I waited until I had taken Calc 2 to post this and I made an A in Calc 2 but a B in Michalski's class. He expects you to already know the material before you come to class and will not explain much in class.
I had him for CalI and i didn't take Cal in High School but i passed his class with a C after lots of hard work. He is cool if you become friends with him but i recommend no asking stupid question because he will call you out. His tests are super hard so make sure you understand the stuff before the test and do the open-ended question first because
I have this much to say: thank GOD I took AP Calc in High School and, as a psych major, didn't have to take anything past College Algebra. He uses powerpoints to teach math. Accent is incomprehensible. Is a jerk when asked questions in class. Basically taught myself what I needed to know, as this was a hybrid course.
I took his Hybrid College Algebra class. Math is not my subject so I struggled. I felt like I didn't get anything out of the lectures. His explanations were sometimes bad, and he was difficult to understand. He seemed to have an attitude half the time as well. Would not recommend.

I wouldn't recommend this professor unless you have some prior knowledge of Calculus. The only good thin I can say about this is that he post the notes from class. The only downfall is that he only explains what he has written out on his power point.
He is by far the worst instructor I have ever had - I am an A/B student but not with him. The grades in his class ranged between 60 to 80 and a few high grades but mainly in the 60-70s His teaching skills are almost non-existant and he is not helpful. DO NOT TAKE HIM! His was the first class I have ever dropped and I've taken quite a few classes.
Tests are pretty hard, but he curves the tests like crazy. Quiz everyday over material from previous class. If you pay attention you should do fine. I got an A. Notes are online. He can really make people feel like complete idiots when you ask him a question, however he is very willing to help after class.
He is foreign so he's a little difficult to understand but he relays numbers very well. Most will say he's hard but I took him when I was still in High School and I made the highest grade in my class. The only ones to not understand slept most the time. Tests come straight from the material and book so it's as easy as it gets.
You spell his name Michalski. The class is the hardest math class I've ever taken and I've had to work really hard. Attendence isnt mandatory, but you NEED to go to class. He curves all our test by like 20 points. He helps you out nd he want's you to ask questions. He's a fair teacher and easy to like. I recommend him if you've taken a higher math
His class was my favorite along with my composition class. He's a very good man and very brilliant. He will help you in any way you can as long as you ask him! I definitely recommend taking his class.
This was my first college math class at Georgia Southern. My class was the MATH 1111 Hybrid class. Michalski is very hard to understand and does not give the best notes. He is very hard to understand.
Can't understand a word he says. He is rude and snarky, no help whatsoever. Fortunately for me math is easy and if you know how to use a graphing calculator this class should be no problem. Attendance is mandatory but bring your laptop, it's a bore!

I took his hybrid college algebra class. Yes, he is hard to understand. Yes, attendance is required ( you only meet once a week). He drops the FOUR lowest quiz grades AND homework grades. At the end of the semester I had a 89.1 and he rounded up to an A because I had not missed more than 2 of his classes. He has a kind heart!!!
Great teacher! Study guides are identical to tests! Class is not mandatory and extra credit is given for every homework completed early. Everyone should easily make an A. The only reason why people failed is because they never came to class or did any homework.
I took the hybrid math with him. He is a very smart man but is not the best teacher. I ended up having to learn a lot of the material on my own. A good grade is possible, but requires a lot of work.
He is Hard. I heard people with different professors were allowed to bring notes and cheat sheets to tests..(which is fine, i mean come on...calc 2 has like 40+ things to memorize along with trig rules)..but this guy is hard. VERY HELPFUL THOUGH. Don't complain that you can't understand something. Go to his office. He calls people out though lol.
I had Michalski for Survey of Calculus. It was 3 tests, 1 Final. Attendance wasn't mandatory and going to class didn't help me very much. He did give extra credit for coming near the end. Print out the sample tests and work out those problems a couple days before and you'll do fine on the tests. No textbook.
He is hard to understand with his accent. Very boring, but gets the information across. Attendance is mandatory with only two absences allowed. He has homework and quizzes due every week, and does not use a textbook. I would recommend him if you have taken college algebra before.
He is a nice guy, but not the best teacher out there. Can be hard to understand, and his class is very boring. I got carried away sometimes with the long examples he used to teach us simple aspects of the class. The tests were ok, but the final was very hard. He did curve all of them, which helped a lot. Would not recommend.
I took trig during the summer with Michalski. He is very amusing, witty, and sounds sort of like Borat. He is not hard to understand at all. He clearly is intelligent and knows the material well. He will work hard to help students when they need it. Don't be afraid to ask him questions or go to him for help. Great teacher, would recommend.

I took the hybrid. Homework, quizzes, and tests are all through mymathlab. The lectures are boring and once a week and you can only miss 2-3. I mostly taught myself through mymathlab and did well in the class. Wouldn't recommend if self teaching doesn't work for you in math.
I took the hybrid portion of college algebra with him and it was terrible. Not understandable, too much homework, and boring lectures.
I taught myself more concepts than Michalski did. Real shame. Spent 6+ hours in the math lab every week. Hardest A I've ever earned by the worst math teacher I've ever had. He uses math terms that are too complex when lecturing, as opposed to simplifying it for the student's sake and putting it into lay-terms. DO NOT TAKE! I'm a dedicated student
Horrible teacher. He's horrible at explaining. Class is boring. HW/Quiz/Test are all online. Part of this class was a hybrid. You basically teaching your self. He gives a lot of homework and quizzes. I RECOMMEND YOU NOT TO TAKE HIM.. IDK my final grade for the class as yet but to what I'm looking at it ain't good. This class stress me out.
Hard professor. Will not explain something to you upfront, he prefers that YOU teach yourself while he lectures "the main idea"...
Okay, this class is kind of hard. There is online hw, like 2 assignments each week; some long, some short. But for the test, study the study guide for each test. He puts them up after the final lesson prior to test. For final review all test and study guide. you'll be fine.
This class was hard to me and I'm decent at math. You print out notes for class and do them every class. The notes weren't helpful at all. All work,quizzes, and tests online. I basically learned everything on my own. Michalski knows what he is talking about, he just goes too fast for me. Two absences or more and he deducts from your grade.
Dr. Michalski's class was interesting. I hated calculus at the beginning but halfway through it managed to stick and I left the class feeling a lot better about derivatives than I did at the beginning. He's a good professor, just make sure to ASK QUESTIONS if you have any, and do not miss class. You will get super behind, and he'll reward you.
So happy to be finished with this class. It was extremely difficult. Professor Michalski is hard to understand, he explains the material in a advanced way in that he believes everyone should already understand it. He gives a lot of Homework and 4 exams. Had to YouTube and teach myself most of the material. Don't Take!
Worst teacher I've ever had. Thinks powerpoints can teach math. Nice guy but can't teach. I'd rather use the time i spent in his class teaching myself the material he is so bad at teaching. thank god tutoring and the math lab exist or else i would have failed this class

Class was extremely hard for students without a good mathematical foundation. PLEASE CONSIDER TAKING SOMEONE ELSE IF YOU STRUGGLE WITH MATH. He also teaches calculus 2 so imagine how he teaches his lower level classes...
Professor was nice, but in my opinion could not teach well at all. His test were crazy hard, but he curved the test by 20-30 points and gave out tons of extra credit. Took the course Summer Term A (Five Week) which made it harder. Ended up with a B after studying 2 hours a night every night.
Hardest class I've ever taken, but earning an A made me that much prouder. You have to really study the material, but he gives a good foundation in class time. If you struggle with Math, I wouldn't take this professor as you can tell he has a hard time relaying some basic math principles and tends to skip over basics.
ATTEND CLASS!! He gives bonus points and goes over everything!! lets you have a cheat sheet on all tests and helps!! great trigonometry teacher.
He is a difficult instructor, and if you struggle with math at all I would not take him. I'm good at math and I have struggled in this class. However he does curve tests. You take your score (ie 70%), divide by 2 then add 50. So the worse you do on tests the more that is added to your grade. Also, be prepared for tons of hw- about 6 hours a week
The lectures are lengthy and full of theory. I learned mostly by doing the homework and going to the Math Lab. Homework is less that 5% of the final grade, but without doing the homework I would NOT have passed this class. Part of each test is on MyMathLab with supervision. I would definitely do the homework and get familiar with it.
Dr. Michalski is a wonderful professor. I had him for Trig, and he was very helpful. He is very willing to help and will meet with you whenever needed. Make yourself known to him, because if he knows your name, he is a lot friendlier. His class is difficult, but not impossible.
I had Dr. Michalski for college algebra and really had to work hard for an A. Hard to understand him sometimes and moves kinda fast. Just finished his survey of calculus class during A term and just got by with a B. He's a much better teacher in a smaller class than a lecture classroom! Great professor and really tries to help you understand!
I take Michalski for College Algebra hybrid. All of our homework, quizzes, and test are on MyMath Lab. Basically I sit in lecture and then I teach myself the material on MyMath Lab. He has an accent, so listen closely to understand what exactly he is saying.
He hardly ever worked out a problem on the board, and when he did his handwriting was illegible. I'm a visual learner and just going through a powerpoint isn't helpful. His test are ridiculously difficult, which in turn makes him give an equally ridiculous curve that can make a 40% go to 70%. I definitely recommend not taking him.
Took this as a hybrid class during fall semester of 2014. The lectures were long and he went quickly over the material. The explanations he gave for some of topics were a bit confusing and I had to look to the homework for help. All of the homework was online, the tests, and notes for each topic. I wouldn't recommend him if you struggle with math.
I took this course as a hybrid class so it was mostly all online. MyMathLab is an alright program but it definitely taught me way more than he did. Most of us just went to class to sign the attendance sheet then left. Quizzes and homework are open book and his tests are 100% multiple choice. If you are bad at math take his class.
Mr. Michalski really knows the content, but the hybrid course makes it difficult for those who are not naturally good with math. This class is not hands on; therefore if you can't teach yourself, consider another type of class. Mr. Michalski is typically always in a good mood and likes for you to respond.
He's really nice, and if you need help, he's there. There's way too much homework but it helps you prepare for the tests. His tests are on mathlab which makes them harder. He should put his tests on paper instead, but if you study, you should be fine. He really wants you to do well. I would take again.

Teaches only with powerpoints and if you ask a question about something the response is usually 'thats calc 1 stuff, you should know that'. Tests are very hard but curved. TAKE ONLINE!! Everything is online anyways. All he does is sends you the class notes on mymathlab, you print them out, and you fill them in as he goes through the powerpoint in class. MyMathLab makes it to where you won't fail.
Honestly it is algebra and you have unlimited tries on the quizzes and homework so make 100s on those he is not very clear I would not take if you can not teach yourself
He assigns anywhere from 25-45 problems after each class for homework. The test are partly on mymathlab and then about 5 written questions on paper which are timed. He was more interested in nagging the class for not volunteering answers than teaching. Hard to follow and understand. With a full course load its really easy to get behind.
His lectures are all power points and moved quick, we would cover multiple subjects in one class. We learned things in November that the other calculus 1 never even mentioned.
The examples he gives in class are comparable to learning how to build a paper airplane. The problems he assigns for homework are comparable to building a space ship. His quizzes are based off of the homework problems, but the homework problems can be so difficult that it can take hours to figure out how to solve one of the 20+ problems he assigns.
If you ask him to go over one of his tough homework problems, he usually says it would take too long for him to go over the problem. If it takes the teacher too long to go over it, then why are students expected to solve it in under 3 minutes for quizzes and tests? He just needs to filter out the hw problems to exclude the long, trivial problems.
When it comes to the way he teaches the material, he makes things very clear and will answer any questions you may have. If you do the homework, you should do fine on his quizzes (unless it's a pop quiz you weren't ready for) and you will do okay on his tests. He curves the tests quite a bit since his tests are difficult.
This teacher basically mocked me in class for not dropping. It seems like he expects you to know the material as he is going over it for the first time.
Dr. Michalski made me cry the first week. But in the end, he helped me out more than any professor I had ever had. I probably deserved a C in the class, but he gave me a B. There were more than 100 homework problems a week, attendance is a must if you want to pass, and he curves tests tremendously. I love Dr. Michalski, just be prepared to work.
Michalski expects you to already have seen the material and know it. He teaches very fast using PowerPoint slides that are really not the most organized in terms of presenting the material. He also gives a ton of homework. Despite that, he does curve his tests. If you have never seen or practiced Calculus, I STRONGLY recommend finding a new class.
An extreme amount of homework. More than is needed. Test are extremely hard but the curve helps give some points back.
Long, sometimes boring lectures. Don't buy the book, it comes free when you buy the McGraw Hill Connect Access online. Homework after every lecture due on McGraw. Tests are taken online, questions are straight from the homework. If you pay attention when doing your homework, you'll make A's or B's on the tests. He puts in huge curves for every test
He's not the best Calc teacher, but he isnt the worst either. He has an accent but is still understandable and he cracks the occasional joke. He assigns a ridiculous amount of hw but its only 10% of the final grade. He taught from a powerpoint most of the time but switched to the board closer to the end. He also gives extra credit and curves tests.
DO NOT TAKE HIM FOR CALC 1. He's a smart professor, but difficult to follow in class. He gives matlab homework every night! His test are also through matlab (the questions are nothing like the homework and are extremely difficult) and 4-8 problems on paper. He does not give helpful study guides before his test! The 3 tests determine your grade.
If you struggle with understanding math concepts, don't take Michalski. Took for Discrete Math and it wasn't a great experience. He flies through concepts and doesn't do a good job of explaining. Uses fill in powerpoints to teach. Online test part comes straight from homework problems, other 1/2 is free response. Major curve us given on tests.
He is terrible at explaining examples and detailing simple examples. His english is not good at all. The pop-quizzes are random and sometimes over things that haven't been taught. DO NOT TAKE HIM
He's very difficult to understand as far as his accent goes. I think he moved way too fast through the class. Handwriting on the board was difficult to read, but he lectured directly from power points so they were clear. They tended to be difficult to follow quickly though and he moved very quickly through the class. Do the homework!

I took Michalski for Calc 1. I usually enjoy math and at first I was able to keep up with up with homework, but it got worse (It had up to 40 problems). He assigned a new homework just about every other day. The tests were similar to what we did in class. His accent was understandable and he offered extra credit from the quizzes and participation.

He does curve tests and give extra credit to those who participate in class. He also DOES NOT use folio, so you have no idea what your grade is at all. His grading is confusing.
I had Michalski for trig during the summer, and it was very much worth my time. I didn't have the best foundational skills in trig before taking his class; however, with the help of Michalski and hard work, I felt more confident about my trig knowledge. He definitely gives a lot of homework, but it helps you master the concepts taught in class.
Teaches math from a powerpoint. Rarely writes on the board. For Calc III he gives pictures with examples but expects you to know what they look like on the tests. Tests are worth 90% of entire grade. Tests don't just test on basic concepts, you also have to know how to solve extremely difficult integrals in minimal time. Very bad at explaining.
He was rude to us students. He literally called me dumb because I got the answer wrong after he put me on the spot in front of the whole class. And he makes smart comments to students who actually ask questions and ask for help. Also, his accent is hard to understand. I would not recommend him as a teacher if you struggle with math.

He is one of a kind and really knows his stuff. You definitely need thick skin if you're in his class and be prepared to earn your grade! The homework load was heavy but didn't count for much as the majority of your final grade is based on the exams. He's always willing to help after class and via email. Just put in the work!
Calc 3 has been my hardest class yet. There was a ton of homework online with about 3 sets of homework due per week. The quizzes and homework were only worth 10% of the grade. If you take him for Calc 3, be ready to study a hell of a lot for this class. Not impossible to make a good grade, you just have to be very diligent.
Just not good at teaching seems like hes very smart however he doesn't teach very well uses tons of "this" "that" and makes it very hard to follow, be prepared to teach yourself.
Prepare for tons of homework. If you are one of those types of people who have to a lot of practice to get the concepts, this professor is it, though. Discrete math itself is not familiar to these freshmen and sophomores who just graduated from high school, so you will need to get use to it.
At first he was really discouraging towards the entire class that about have of us dropped but once he got used to us he got much nicer. Hell interact with you during class which will keep you on your toes. Something that really helps is the short answer portions because he gives lots of points with that. Id take him again.
WORST class I've EVER TAKEN! I was an A student in high school and had to drop this class. He doesn't give you enough time on quizzes. He goes very fast and you can't understand him. He also shows you the WRONG way to do a problem and then after you think you learned the material he tells you it was wrong. The entire class got a 0 on his quizzes.

Doesn't do a good job explaining concepts and uses bad examples. Homework, reading assignments, and 4 exams including the final are the only grades you receive. Homework and reading assignments hardly make a difference to your grade, so you will have to do really well on the exams to make a good grade in this class.
Exams are half multiple choice and half free response. Most of the multiple choice questions come from the homework, but there's always a few questions about material that he didn't teach and that wasn't in the homework. Free response part of exam is very difficult and you must write out your work to get credit. Avoid this professor if possible.

I've had a handful of different math professors so far in college because my degree is very math intensive, and Greg takes the gold medal for being the absolute worst. He takes weeks to report some grades, other grades were never reported. You get about 800 homework problems (really) and no feedback. He doesnt care. 3/4 of the class dropped.

ive always been fairly good at math, but gregor literally almost sent me into semi depression. when i asked for help he told me to be humble, enjoy the math. he never would help me. he likes to throw in questions youve never seen before. he posted a homework a week AFTER it was due and gave everyone zeros. wouldnt recommend to my worst enemy
you literally have so much homework every week and it sucks so bad. just dont do it. only extra credit opportunity was to replace your lowest test grade with ur final grade. you had to get on zoom with him and explain your answers. if you tripped on ur words you got a zero for your whole test. gregor ruined my life & my gpa
I've done decent in math always received a B and nothing lower. This class ruined me. It depressed me. Took a serious toll on my mental health. I cried about it everyday sometimes during class. You get one extra credit chance to replace your lowest test grade with your final grade. I forgot the name of the rule I used and he gave me a 0 on my exam.
Nice guy but super tough. Ive always been an A student and I had a C for most of the semester. Tests and quizzes are much harder than the homework and he doesn't give much time to take them.
The WORST TEACHER EVER. He docks your grade if you guess. He makes sure you have 2+ hours of HW per night. He is by far the worst math professor at georgia southern
Bruh this dude can't teach to save his life. Most of the time I learn absolutely nothing from his zoom lectures. In fact I actually retain information from the homework assignments he makes us do on mylabmath. And the quizzes are unnecessarily time consuming while having little time. Do not EVER take this man for calculus when applying.
By far the worst instructor I have had, his zooms are just him clicking through a powerpoint and never working any problems out whatsoever. It's impossible to learn math that way, especially calculus. The homework, quizzes, and tests are all on MyLab Math and never felt like they related to the zooms. He makes you feel dumb for wrong answers.
He gives quizzes and tests that are NOTHING like the homework he assigns making it impossible to study relevant information. He's condescending if you ask questions. It seems he has a God complex. Overall, just a crappy guy and a horrible professor. The only reason I passed was because of hours of outside lecture + studying. DO NOT TAKE!
Professor Michalski's lectures are really heavy. You have an average of 4 homework per week, and there is a quiz every week apart from the test weeks. Sure, he gives 3% bonus points for class participation, and he does not count your 2 lowest quizzes and homework, but I would advise you to look at all your options, and let him be the last option.
Daily quizzes, doesnt help much, very stand-offish, kinda feels like hes bothered to be there? He doesnt seem like he wants to teach.
Do not take him. No matter how hard a student works or how well they understood the content they still could barely pass the class. Find a professor that'll go over the content better, grade easier, and won't kill you with homework.
Tried to force students to meet with him to explain answers on exam. IF you couldn't explain a single answer you would get a zero on the entire final. Class banded together and had the dean intervene to have the obviously unfair policy removed. He's only here because he is tenured.
This guy should not be allowed to teach. I had a 4.0 & loved math until his class. I learned more from a tutor than I did from Michalski. When u ask questions he humiliates u or tells u it will take too long. He gives timed quizzes/week w/o enough time. Do yourself & your GPA a favor & DO NOT take this professor. I don't know how he keeps his job.
This class was so hard especially since I had never taken calculus before. I never missed a class or anything, which I think he respected because there were only two people to do that. I think he bumped my grade up, which was nice, but still I shed many tears over this class.
This was his first time teaching it so I get it. He is genuinely kind prof that cares about you as a person. There was no explaining the big assignments in class. We had to figure it out which was exasperating. This is an easy A class but I had inner turmoil the whole time. Recommend to take online. I don't blame him. The handoff was prob nonexiste
It was a challenging class, and I studied for two weeks to pass the final. The professor is kind and genuinely cares if you show interest and participate. He will help you. Good Luck!
This class was a real challenge, but I found unstuck study super helpful for prepping for the tough exams. The professor has a specific teaching style, so staying engaged is key. Overall, a tough but rewarding class.
There is so much homework including weekends. He doesn't work problems with you, works too fast, and gets irritated by questions and says we are wasting time explaining. No matter how many people fail a test he will not reevaluate his teaching he just thinks and entire room of people failed for fun. I had to drop the class to not lose scholarships.
If you like getting buttraped with homework and quizzes that he doesn't even bother to mention in class. Then this is the professor for you. Horrible teacher and should have been fired awhile ago.
most of your grade is tests and quizzes that he fails at teaching you because he tries to speed through the lectures and questions. you often have to teach yourself. Pluson some questions that are difficult to find an equation for he will purposefully get rid of the "see an example" on MyLabMath to make it as difficult as possible to understand.
Even though Dr. Michael ski has an PhD from Notre Dame, some people are just not made for being teachers. His teaching methodology is horrible, assuming you know everything and rushing through the problems and when questions are asked he doesn't even bother to answer. This is paired with a horrible structure of homeworks and quizzes scheduling.
WORST CLASS EVER!!!!! He is very hard to understand and called us stupid when we would ask questions because we did not understand. He teaches straight off the powerpoint which is hard to follow especially a math class. The only thing that helped me to understand anything was the tutoring center. I retook the class with someone else and got a A.
Just don't take this class. Hard to understand him. Lectures are difficult to keep up with. Tests are almost 50% of your grade, and there are only 3, and the final exam which is about the same amount as the tests. All are in person. Homework after every lecture and lengthy 50 ish questions. And dont ever pull out your calculator in class!
The professor did not demonstrate effective teaching; he regularly administered quizzes on material that was just covered, yet the quizzes were far more challenging than the examples he provided in class. Moreover, the workload was overwhelming. Consequently, I ultimately made the decision to drop his class, as it was not conducive to my learning.
This class was awful. Do not take him if possible. I took Pre-Cal in high school and passed with a 90. I didn't even get the credit I needed to be able to take Calculus and now has to retake the class. Doesn't teach well at all, never works with students, doesn't explain well at all. TAKE A DIFFERENT PROFESSOR IF POSSIBLE!
This dude should pick another career. This guy is so intelligent he cannot teach math. He assigns homework that takes forever to do (once gave us 124 questions) that barely counts for anything and in lecture he is so rushed that me and my classmates struggle to keep up and pretty much your grade is final + test.
literally he worst class i've ever taken. he does not know how to teach he just puts on a slide show and expects us to understand. he also doesnt care to explain it further more than he already has. his homework would take at least 3 hours minimum for 40 questions. do not reccomend.
This is definitely a very challenging course and I would recommend taking it with a different professor if possible as this one covers significantly more material than others. That being said, he is a great guy and will 100% work with you on your grade if you show effort, participate, and build a relationship. Expect a weekly 6+ hours of homework.
Your tests and final count 75% of your grade, homeworks were almost worthless. However, he was a somewhat decent lecturer and the course wasn't so bad. The only reason I dropped was because I switched majors and didn't need Precal, if you can I would recommend a different professor based on grading, but as a lecturer he isn't as bad as people say.
Just avoid taking his class if you can. I passed, but it was FAR from easy. His lectures most of the time didn't make sense. You get assigned tons of homework (in which sometimes the material on it is not discussed in class) and weekly quizzes. The tests were…interesting, depending on which days you get will affect how material heavy your test is.
