VERY interesting lectures, quizzes easy if u study, exams a bit hard (essay)
Keeps things interesting by asking why more than anwsering why, but that can also be fustrating. Essays are not easy, but class is most certain a great learning experience. He is also gorgeous in his own little way.
This class was on the verge of being a hard class but the teacher makes up for it with great lectures and being extremely helpfull. Fun class.
nice guy, he's a character, keeps askin "why?" but good teacher. i got a D-, but take him for just a chance to be in the same classroom as this man. highly recommend!!!
he's a great teacher, very funny trys to make you get his point in very different ways that are fun to learn from.
A good guy. Has that throw back type hair do, but it's all good. He's funny and adds humor to his lectures. Just a easy guy to get along with.
What a fun professor and a great class. His delivery of abstract information made all the difference. Great sense of humor to boot! Exams are very fair if you read and participate in class. Take this class!!
Great guy, bad textbook (dont worry it's different after fall '03) -put me to sleep. Never went, still got an A. Common sense..although I learned in his class theres no such thing. Enjoy, dont forget to be creative with the group project.
He is so awaesome!! loved this calss. if u take notes and listen to lectures u will be fine. he keeps u on your toes and forces u to think. great class. have to take this class before u leave smc. awesome!
he was pretty good...He really made u think
A GREAT TEACHER.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.multiple choice part of test is very easy but essays are kinda hard but not bad over all.understands his students problems.a really good class to take
this guy is an awesome teacher i went into his class not knowing what my major would be and after his class i became a socis major this guy is as good a teacher as u will find
This teacher is AMAZING...you will leave his class with a better understanding of life...he helps you to understand all the diffcult parts of the class and he really wants you to pass..this is a great class....
very good teacher, he was always organized and clear. i learned a lot and really enjoyed the class
Mr. Piccolo is so increadibly nice. He's help to students and really FUNNY- There are quizzes almost every week but they are easy and he literally gives you the test to study-AMAZING. It's impossible not to get at least a 'B'. Quite Easy!!
one of the best teachers i have ever had. He actually teaches the material, without having to lecture all the time. it's inter-active learning at it's best.
I LOVE GUIDO!!!!! HE IS THE BEST. I BECAME A SOC. MAJOR BECUASUE OF HIM. HE LOVES HIS STUDENTS AND IS ONE OFTHE BEST TEACHERS I HAVE TAKEN!!!!!!
This is the best class I have ever taken, he is the most wonderful professor in this school! you learn so much and it is just such a good class!
He is a great teacher! he makes learning sociology very understanding by using hands on examples. he makes you understand society in a different way. GUIDO IS THE BEST
guido is the man. You leave the class just amazed at all the things you learn. besides being hot and funny he is a great teacher. he is the best!!!you got to take his class you will not be sorry!!!
I definately agree...Guido is the MAN. You need to work for an A, but its not bad. Be creative on the group project, but everyone needs to take this class. One of the few classes ive ever looked foward to going to.
He is the BEST teacher. i always looked forward going to his class. He makes it interesting, he's funny and smart. you wont regret taking his class! he's awesome.
I agree with everyone. I love this teacher! And so does e/o else (check out his ratings on the d page- del piccolo). he rocks.
Very Very GOod teacher! We take group quizzes and tests and we even took a group final. Not only that, i understand it and i will always remember sociology
This guy is awesome. He opens your mind to so many new concepts in a very captivating way. It's hard to lose focus in this class because he draws your attn. Just read and pay attn to lectures and you're set.
the best ever. very clear, interesting lectures. good reading assigments.good sense of humor, never moody.
This professor is amazing! He makes you see things in a completely different way. He opens your eyes and helps you understand why things are the way they are. As soon as he walks into class the very first day he blows your mind!
Very helpful teacher. He does everything in his power to make sure you understand the material. He is always open to questions and fair. He is not boring and has a great sense of humor. I guarantee that he will grab your attention the first day of class.
makes learning socio. fun. he is really thorogh and easy to talk to. not alot of work and assigned the cheapest book w/ a built in study guide for the class! he makes you think about what's going on in society. He's tha BEST!!!
Mr. Guido is fun, nice, and helpful. Great professor to take. Not a demanding class, but you still get to learn so much. Exams are very reasonable. One of the best professors at SMC.
he's great. Not only does he makes us understand the concept, but he also helps us to apply it to our everyday lives.
this teacher sucks. he is sooo difficult.after a awhile, writing his many 15pg papers really sucks. he seems to think his class is above all others.
be prepared to write at least 10, 8 page papers for this class. in addition, you will be required to volunteer 20hrs towards outside social work. it is one of the hardest classes I have taken in my 2 years at SMC. teacher explains things in a very complaicated manner that fails to reach his students
Great teacher! He is very hard, but worth it. Makes you really think. Loved this class.
this teacher sucks
he was my 1st prof ever at smc and how great to start it w/ him..he's cool and u nver get bored..he does group quizzes and exams as long as u provide convincing reasons for having that..but u get to learn so much stuff too and he makes his subject way interesting and fun too! best so far!
He's great. The "people" who rated him below me are obviously all the same person. He's dynamic, interesting, and fun. But yeah, he isnt an easy A. Look at his posts under a different heading: Del Piccolo.
Prof Del rocks!!
Although he does grab your attention from the first day of class, his class is really hard to pass. Good luck passing it. Grades very harshly!!!
Guido rocks! He really gets you interested in the topics....so much so that you actually look forward to going to class! You do have to read and work, but in the end it's all worth it! You come out of that class with a lot more knowledge of the realities we face today!
This guy is great, seriously. He does grade "tough" but it's all good because he explains stuff so well. He is very intersting, very funny and very nice. Highly recommended!
Any person who has good study habits can pass this class. If you hate to read and do work, then you don't need to be in college. He is one of the best professors at smc. If you keep up with the reading and lectures, you're sure to get an A. I truly recommend him.
Guido is the best teacher in the entire school. It's a shame some people can't see it. Do yourself a favor and take any class he teachers, you will not regret it!
amazing teacher he teaches the students about the possibilities that we have and what power we have as a student, he opens ur mind and is fair. hard to get an A, but its very possible if u do well on ur specch, he is very fair teacher and understands the system better than the teachers at smc
he is the best teacher i have ever had. though his class socio 1 is a bit hard...the class is fun and gets u to think. def. recommend takin his class...
the hardest teacher!!
Prof Del is one of the best instructor I've ever had in SMC. He is passionate about soc and makes the class real fun and interesting. If you read the assigned homework, use the study guide he hands out and go to his office hours, then you will do real well. I did and I got an A!
This guy is so funny and awesome. He really knows how to communicate with all people of all ages. If you and the class can, you can make the late quizzes and THE FINAL easy and take them as a group. I dont kid you. Just do your reading and you will be fine. Dont plan to crash since he does a lottery
He's wonderful. Changed the way I look at so much. Gives you a new perspective on life. Funny too. Greatest class overall. Take him!
He is a hard teacher but he is very good. He makes the class fun to be in.
Guido is the nicest, most caring professor I've ever met. He genuinely cares about the student and wants to make sure that you understand basic principles of sociology. His method is VERY abstract and discussion oriented. DO ALL OF THE READING!! He should be teaching honors and not general classes. He would fare better if he had over-achiever types
Great Professor. He's really funny, intellegent and very forgiving. The class environ. was very open and like a group of friends discussing sociology. Lots of group quizes too. My gripes are the Final, and a book that he made us buy that he admitted was stupid!
I have to say Pro. Del Piccolo is a great teacher; very informative and makes the class fun. However, his exams are a bit tricky, written essays are included on the exam as well. You have to read and study to thoroughly understand his lectures and exams. Slackers not allowed to enroll into his class!
this teacher is so amazing. he opens you up to new ideas and visions. i would reccomend taking this teacher at least once at SMC. he is SO AMAZING! their is a community service requirment for his soc 2 class and its a lot of work, but SO WORTH IT! im taking another class by him in the fall! the best teacher ive ever taken at SMC!!!!
REALLY LIKE HIM AS A PERSON! Irritating as a Professor because he expects you to actually think. Needs to control class more, but won't because he cares that everyone (no matter how slow and irritating) gets the chance to learn. Very frustrating class. I did learn a lot though. Take with grain of salt. He's Passionate about Soc! youllneverbethesame
Took his class to fulfill IGETC and changed my major.Very understanding and always available for questions during office hours or whatever is convenient for his students. He has his own liberal thoughts and opinions but never crushes others if their thoughts and opinions are different. Not the easiest class, but thought provoking and interesting.
best class i have ever taken! guido makes class fun & intresting. though the class isnt an easy A, it is def. an eye opener! funny teacher & makes you see things in a new light, TAKE THIS CLASS!!!
he was very un organized.. his class was a mess.. no matter how hard i studies for his test they would always scew me over.. his quized are hard...he tells you not to read the book to memorize b/c the quizes are going to be on the over all objective..FALSE!!!MEMORIZE THE READINGS!!!he's funny and interesting..but a horrible teacher!recomended 4 fun
this teacher is AMAZING!!
Excellent Professor. Fun Class. Do the work (which is interesting) and get a good grade. Must take!
great professor, tells you everything he expects of you. Highly recommended.
He taught me more truth about life in his one class then I have learned in all the years I've been living in our society.
Guido is the coolest teacher ever, I learned more from him in one semester than any other professor throughout my whole college experience!
The best professor/teacher I've ever had. I took him for 2 last semester and 34 this semester. 34 was disappointing compared with 2 but none the less was a good class. For his philosophy and ideas, he grades a bit harsh, but because he wants to see his students REALLY get the material. I recomend him highly for Soc 2.
this is a very interesting and eye opening class. guido is a great teacher and he cares about the subject and about the students. the quizzes can be a little tricky, but make sure you read the online readings. make sure you have taken soc 1 or 2 before taking this one because there are lots of theories.
I would say one of the fakest people that I have ever met in my life, tries to act like he's cool and freindly but is a jerk in reality. Gives way to much reading for a sociology class and doesn't clarify what his lectures mean
typical left-wing socialist with an agenda.this class is taught from the biased standpoint of a wannabe freedom-fighting white guy.the class is completely unobjective and frustratingly one-sided.take it if you enjoy tailoring all quiz and test answers to fit your teachers views despite the fact that you dont agree with anything youre writing.
do not take him if u care about ur gpa
This guy is the most inconsidered proffessor I ever had. His lectures aren't clear and doesn't liked to be bugged after exams and doesn't care if u try hard. Don't take the guy, he has a high persona mask and is fake
very old fashioned guy with friendly personality but only in class, during his office hours he is just so nasty, does not answer your questions, but insted questions you back
not a great professor quizes are hard although he used to do the open group quizes but only if you right a good reason for it...test are hard....take someone else..take care
Liberal minded but allows for open discussions in the class. Only problem, he heavily card-stacks his extra readings towards liberal/conflict perspective, but compared to other SMC socio teachers he's great . If you are going to transfer to a Univ. his style of grading will prepare you for what you will get later on in the 4yr school.
THIS PROFESSOR IS REALLY INTERESTING BUT "INDEED" HIS MULTIPLE CHOICE QUIZZES R DIFFICULT AND SO R HIS TEST, EVENTHOUGH HE GIVES U THE EXACT SAME QUESTIONS THAT R GOING 2 B IN THE TEST HE GRADES THEM W/ ALL HIS MIGHT. HE GRADES HARD AND WHAT HE MOSTLY WANTS IS FOR U 2 EXPAND UR VOCABULARY... "WRITE LIKE HIM!!!"
The worst sociology class.. his tests / quizzes are hard...barely anything that is on the lecture is seen on the tests/quizzes... i really don't recommend anyone taking his class.. overall there is just wayyy too much reading.
Good teacher... Smart, funny and very cool!
ok ive read all comments here.YES, DUH he is a librlArts PROF,of crse hes gonna be a LEFTY.Anyways i was one of those CAREER POST GRAD SKL who looks almost 15 years younger for age stdnt in cls.BOY was he anoyd by me!he made sure to grade my essys harder and didnt care for me cuz i knew just as much as he did.LOL!and i thought Jrhigh dys were gone!
hard grader..alot of work!!!
love him!!!! he is the reason i am a soc. major! he really puts things into real life and gives a crap about what he teaches. is really open to students, you just have to ask! love love love!!!
gooosh i love this guy!!! the only ppl that write all those nasty things about him are surely ppl that dont want to learn.. i dont even read that much in his class and i still have a real good grade.. i think he opened my mind in ways i had never imagined.. you HAVE HAVE to take him.. GREAT TEACHER!!!
Prof. D is a dedicated, wonderful teacher. Sometimes people are less interested in learning something new and more interested in proving how smart they are even though they look really young and that is annoying to everybody.
How could you not love Guido?! He makes class very interesting. Very funny. Class is based on student participation, so you have to read. You walk out of the class understanding so much more about your surroundings. You actually learn in this class. Easy A if you just read and understand his power points LOL FABULOUS teacher Love him Slackers bewar
He doesn't care about whether the students understand the material or not. Please avoid this teacher. his tests are tricky and hard. I studied really hard but it was hard to get an A. Plus, he is NOT ORGANIZED AT ALL. He's the type of a teacher who will just give a way the quiz without even covering the material. Passes back the quiz real late too
he really sucks. don't take his class. we'll regret for sure.
I love Del Picollo. I think that's an understatement. Take him without hesitation. He changed the way I look at things. If you want to open your mind, take him. Otherwise, why are you taking sociology? Do the readings, study, and most importantly, visit him in office hours. I'm so jealous you get to take him!
I have been at SMC for 1 1/2 yrs now and Guido by far is the best teacher I've ever had. His lectures are not just regular lectures and they really make you step out of your box and think alittle. He's very knowledgable and down to earth. Come to class, study for exams and visit during office hours! I loved this guy!! if u fail, its ur fault!
very interesting class, a wonder how to get an A, grading is very subjective. he has mult choice and essay. even if you get an A on the mult for every test, you could easily get a B, so if you like to get B's go ahead, if you like A's then dont take him!
challenging course...helpful during office hours if you need him...use book as supplement...a few quizzes (drop lowest one and usually do it in a group), 2 exams and a final (study guide has basically exact essay questions)...possible to get an A but you will need to put in that much effort!
He really does care about what he teaches...Just read and take notes. He practically gives you whats going to be on the examsin the study sheets. I loved the class, got an A too.
Cocky and he should be. Guido is intelligent and passionate about the subject he teaches. Took sociology to put a check in the box but he got me interested and wanting to learn more within two classes. Always on time and keeps a professional appearance. He should be teaching at a university to brighter students that are less accustom to Easy As.
Duno what these people are talking about. One of the best professors in the school!
WOW great teacher!!! I love his class he opens your eyes to a different world. The test are easy. Just watch wats on the quizzes and you'll do fine. The study guides are really helpful and do the reading. Letcures are fun!!! TAKE HIM!!!
Here's some advice, if you don't know what your talking about, showed up late to class, didn't do any of the reading, and have a IQ below 50 its probably not going to be the best idea to ask as many idiotic questions per class as you can. This is a concept one particular student has difficulty with and unbelievable it looks like he might pass.
I don't recommend taking a class from this instructor if you possess the ability to think for yourself and not believe everything anyone tells you. It doesn't seem to be a quality he looks for in his students.
The opposite of an easy A class. 5 quizzes, 1 dropped. 2 test and a Final. Test are impossible to get an A on, because he grades your essays so subjectively. Less than 10% of the class is getting an A, and the average is in the low C, high D range. Other than that, he is a great professor, and you will learn a lot.
Truly inspirational teacher. Makes you think and encourages communication among students. Answers questions clearly and extensively. Very supportive. But the key here is that You have to pay attention and do your work if you want a good grade. If you're expecting an easy A, better go somewhere else. If you want to learn, stick with this guy.
guido is the man. if you don't get anything out of his classes, it's because you're not putting anything into it. awesome guy and awesome material. read the chapters and use your brain for fifteen minutes and you'll get an A. one of the best.
great teacher but hard to pass his class with a good grade. his essay ?s are demanding. you HAVE to do all the readings. 34% of class got F's on first test. that says something about his grading.
He's a great teacher in this field. You will need the book, but not much. Most of the things you need to read you need to print out. I got a B+ and I maybe read 1 chapter in full from the book. You can convince him to take group quizzes if your argument is sociological, and he explains things very thoroughly and clearly.
super cool guy, passionate about his class. Go to class and take great notes. written essay parts to tests are extremly hard. be prepared to learn alot. has pop quizzes. heres a hint, READ THE BOOK!!! all of it and u should do great
A LOT of reading. I found it rather difficult. Interesting, but very complicated. Seems like he already expects you to know everything. :/
Worked hard for an A but teacher himself is great! Sociology is a complicated subject but he can explain and give real life examples so students can understand. Readings are all worth your time. You'll learn the truth about Karl Marx.
Wonderful professor! Not an easy class (definitely my most labor intensive) but you will LEARN if you put in the effort. He is always prepared to lecture and his lectures are very engaging. Overall, I loved this class - even if he is a little arrogant.
very knowledgable guy, really cares to know who his students are. lectures are interesting, teaches you to look at things differently. This class has a service learning requirement & its a big part of the class. get journals in on time.
If you are preparing to transfer into the UC System, this is one of those classes that will prepare you for upper division life. Read the book, attend the class, and don't be afraid to say something - anything of relevance - it is only to your benefit. If you just want to 'get by' take someone else; you're only screwing yourself.
LIFE CHANGING CLASS! Professor had a wonderfully creative teaching style that empathized critical thinking, collaboration, divergent learning and an egalitarian class setting (we sat in circles) where we openly discuss and debate. This class has inspired me to change my major. Work hard, go to his office, he prepares you for UCLA, Berkeley, etc.
One of the best professors I've ever had. Very inspiring class. Encourages critical thinking and class discussions. Wants students to grasp concepts rather than memorize terms. A lot of writing required: 5 journals, 1 midterm with essay questions, and 1 final paper. Best class I've ever had- I wish it lasted two semesters rather than one!
He's GREAT. He let's you take some quizzes in groups. If you don't like to speak in class, may not be a good one for you. He positions the desks in like a half circle to make sure everyone gets a chance to know each other/ interact. Overall, he makes sure you know that your opinion counts.
One of the best classes that I took at SMC. I would look at the clock and be sad that it was coming to an end.Discussion was a big part of the class and everyone got really into the class even if they weren't at the beg. He is funny and engaging. Makes you question and think about so many things. Spend a bit more thought on the papers to do well.
I did not learn anything this whole semester in his class. Half the class failed he's a joke. He comes to class late everyday at least fifteen minutes late worst teacher his tests are all tricky and we never review anything his stupid slideshows don't work.
Probably the best teacher ever, but it is hard to get an A. I don't really know how to study, but study for his tests and you can get an A! Life changing class, like many others have mentioned. He is awesome.
Guido is an excellent teacher who cares about his students and the topics covered in class. He keeps the class interesting by sparking group discussions, you must be willing to speak your opinions. I only did some of the readings and received an A. Gives easy group quizzes and two exams + the final. I'd take him again
I got As in all of my classes except this one in which I got a B. This class is NOT for slackers. That being said Guido's classes are incredibly insightful and entertaining and you will learn so much. Making my major soc because of this class. Read everything he assigns and you will do well in the class.
Guido is awesome. His class is always interesting and makes you think Lots of reading from the textbook to get a good grade in the class, but it's not hard reading. 4 quizzes (drops lowest score), 1 group project or individual project, a midterm and final. Not a hard class at all, but you do have to read. I definitely recommend Professor Guido
AMAZING!! I absolutely love him!!! He is funny, smart, interesting, engaging, everything about his teaching style is great!! It's a hard class (quizzes and tests). There is one group presentation which is pretty easy. Make sure to read book and online and you will be fine! In my class only 4 A's. but don't let that discourage you.Totally worth it!!
Guido is such a fabulous professor. His class is interesting and makes you think about sociological issues. He can be funny at times, but you have to read the book in order to do well on the quizzes and tests. It's a challenging class in a good way, but if you read, you should have no problem passing. A MUST-TAKE.
Textbook, notes&attendance is mandatory!Funny, good &enthusiastic teacher. Not much homework except reading chapters&online reading.4 quizzes-can drop one. tests&quizzes are kinda tough.really need to study notes&review readings. He has great class discussions, makes this topic more interesting than I thought. It really makes you think about society.
READ YOUR BOOK!!!! If you are someone who can not sit down and read a 30 page chapter then DO NOT take Guido. He's awesome, funny, I loved sociology 1. Reading is heavy in this class. His lectures touch on some things, but quizes/exams are really based on reading(about 1-2 chapters a week) Oh and form study groups he will stress this..listen to him
Guido is an amazing professor! He's very relaxed and humble. You do have to read A LOT and be prepared to participate in class discussions. The class was more difficult than I expected,he was unclear at times about what he wanted from the students but overall, I learned a ton and it's been one of my best classes at SMC yet.Got an A but i worked hard
He's one of the best professors I've had at SMC. You can really tell he loves what he teaches and it's very inspiring. Reading is pretty much required for quizzes/tests, but he lets you quizzes in pairs which is very helpful! Take him!
Guido is hilarious!!! if u like to laugh take this dude! he knows exactly what he's talking about. he's not some super boring professor thats gonna have u falling asleep in the lectures. i hated sociology, honestly, but now i have a totally different perspective about it. Really chill guy. his test are a little tricky, but thats wut studying is for
Hilarious teacher and uses ironic and hypocritical jokes to entertain the class. He teaches very clearly and loves to be of help to his students outside of class in office hours. Tests can be a little tricky if you dont study. Most of the work and tests in the class are done in groups.
have to read the book!!!he takes roll. overall he makes you look at society differently. great teacher. take him
Currently have him for Sociology 1, he only has 4 quizzes 25 points each, and a midterm 100 points and a final 100 points, and 50 participation. His quizzes are alright, he has you read these long articles and you have to annotate yourself the chapters in the book, he never covers them and expects you to know things on there for the quiz. Hate him
you need to READ in order to pass test. AMAZING. Your perception of society will be expanded. Never a boring day in his class. Take him but make sure to READ
LOVE HIM. He opens your mind and is so interesting. You must read. Never a boring lecture. He has awesome hair. I would love to take him again!
Great teacher, take this class. You will learn a lot if you do the reading that is assigned. He is a fair grader nut you have to work for the grade.
He is an interesting teacher, his quizzes and tests are straight from the book and the readings. If you want an A read the chapters on the syllabus. Participate in class! Seriously read the text book for an A.
Took his class in my first semester and absolutely LOVED it. So much to learn. Really get to see the world in a different way. Exams can be taken in groups along with the final. Quizzes, midterm and final were fairly easy.
Changed my life.
Nice guy but very old school. His way of teaching seems a little outdated and his lectures seem to go on forever. You HAVE to read all the readings he assigns because a majority of the test questions will be based off them.
Poli Sci, Global Issues, or Econ majors, don't miss out on his class! His lectures are very interesting and never boring. He really engages the students. Although the material is somewhat heavy and can be depressing sometimes, his humor and optimism balance it out. He is a tough grader on essays, but a lot of the quizzes are group quizzes.
Guido is super funny, his lectures are very interesting. expect to take 4 quizzes and 1 midterm 50 multiple choice questions and a written essay, plus 100 multiple choice final. multiple choice is super easy if you do the reading. writing is more difficult but if you try you will most definitely Aces this class!!
This guy is really awesome, he has a great aura to his personality. He created a great learning environment where all the students interacted with one another. He loves what he does and people can see that, easy going, reminds me of John Lennon. The class was great.
I would definitely recommend! Although you definitely have to earn your grade, Prof. Del Piccolo has the BEST sense of humor. Attendance is important for 2 reasons: he takes role 910 days and its important to be there for his lectures. Take notes!! They'll help you a lot when test time comes around. Worthwhile class that you will enjoy.
Great professor, really passionate about his subject. Don't take for easy A because you have to study for his quizzes; they are fairly detailed.
Some of the quizzes can be very focused on the reading, so if you don't read, you won't pass. He is funny and a nice professor overall. He will be willing to help you as long as you do your part.
Loved this professor, always there to help even though course I very straight forward. If you read you will most likely pass the class with a high grade. Some questions can be confusing but he drops the lowest quiz score which helps a lot. Connects what he's teaching with the real world flawlessly. Funny, Inspirrsrional, my favorites teacher.
read, and take notes as you read. He is a very inspirational guy, makes his lectures funny and he is very passionate about sociology. Tests are not hard, final is fairly easy.
Professor Piccolo is a very knowledgeable teacher! He WILL make you work for it, and engages students in the lecture. He gets a bit carried away in lecture, and I found that we had to rush towards the end of the semester to finish covering the material. Quizzes and tests are tricky, but if you read and attend class you should do well.
By far the best professor. Makes you thinks about things in ways you never had before and then ties it back to the lesson. If you read and also take notes easy A. Such a great inspirational teacher. Almost made me want to change my major and I was just taking the class for GE. This Guy Is The Way To Go. Hes weird but in a good way.
I didnt do as well as i should have in this class which was my fault. Prof Guido is seriously the best sociology teacher to take and I'm so happy to have taken his class. His class was actually my favorite the semester i took him. If you ever need a class hes teaching, take him you wont regret it! But of course you have to earn your grade.
His class is very interesting and he tries to make it interactive but careful about participation, you have to participate everyday or he will not give you a good participation grade. You have to read the textbook and do the online readings but if you do, its an easy A. Also the textbook is really easy to understand. I loved this class.
Awesome professor! Made my first semester of college a very good one. You do have to read a lot but the class is interesting.
One of the best teachers I have ever had in my entire life. He was such a nice, funny and interesting teacher. It isn't an easy A but it is a fairly easy B. The class is so interesting and there is a lot to take away from it.
I liked guido! The class was not difficult and all the quizzes/midterm/final were almost exclusively from the textbook (free online!). I would not say "easy A" because like you need to do work. But compared to other classes if you read and study you will get an A pretty clear.
Best professor at SMC by miles! He is funny and makes an effort to engage the class , making large concepts very easy to understand! Will take his other classes if I could
I took him back in 09 and he was the reason why I chose to major in Sociology. Real interesting lectures and I felt like he really cared about his students.
He is honestly a good professor. though he does not have the best time management, it is because he is so passionate about sociology that he gets lost in time with his powerpoints and lectures. made me wanna change my major to sociology to be honest. meet with him to review the tests and questions you get wrong because he reuses the questions!
I loved this class. The workload was light but some stuff you should know is your grade is based on 3 quizzes, a group project, 1 midterm, and 1 final. If you pay attention to his lectures, do the weekly readings, and take detailed notes you are guaranteed to do well in the class. utilize his office hours, they help!
Very interesting lectures that always kept me engaged. Quizzes and tests were very easy
Literally the greatest man of all time. Certified GOAT. If you listen to his amazing lectures and just take notes, you will be fine, you will get an A, and you will be surprised by how much you actually learn about Sociology, this mf has me wanting to change my major to soc, truly inspiring, caring, and funny prof.
Guido is genuinely the best professor I've ever had. Only a few quizzes, midterm, group project, and final. Most tests are MC so studying vocab and flash cards made it an easy A if I paid attention during lectures. Class was interesting and engaging - please take this class!!!
Entertaining lectures and easy tests. Kind of passive aggressive to some kids who need more help. Common sense though
