This guy is pretty cool. He's had many various experiences that he talks about in class. His lectures are simple to understand and take notes on. The tests are generally essay questions, at least for this course. He does not seem to mind late-comers to class (very important, as I'm taking an evening course).

Granted, I recieved an easy A but it was the most dreadful 3 hours of my life, my suggestion is to bring your laptop to entertain yourself because you basically show up to take ONE quiz that he posts online the night before. The class is a piece of cake. Easy A. However, he doesn't respond to emails and you have to do everything on your own. I taught myself everything in order to pass the quizzes for class.

I am so glad I came to FIU, and Grenier just concretizes this feeling. His lectures were beyond insightful, I must have filled over a hundred pages of notes. He is also very easy going about applying his pedagogy, so you do not feel a looming authoritative uneasiness I have had with other professors. I HIGHLY recommend Grenier. He is a great guy.

This professor made Sociology the most interesting subject I've had my four year at FIU. He made me think of this crazy world we live in, in a totally different way. I didn't expect to walk out of this class with a new understanding and respect for my surroundings. The only bad thing is, I am done with my requirements, if not, I'd take him again!!!

Well This professor is good I had him for a blended class so every week I had to write a discussion which was simple we also had online quiz's too with 30 minutes to do 10 questions simple but you must study and read the material to pass 1 project and he is a down to earth person would recommend!!

Great easy class a little bit of work. There were 13 quizzes, 10 questions each, and 1 paper. Everything you need and is the book and online readings. Everything you need is on blackboard even the questions to the quizzes. Super easy but lots of reading but ctrl+F helps a lot! Great professor if theres any problems he helps if he sees fit.

Overall Great Professor! His lectures are very interesting. There is a quiz online every week with a discussion and one essay at the end of the semester. He grades attendance with TopHat so very important to come to class. He makes a lot of jokes and makes everyone feel very comfortable. Would highly recommend!

I feel like he forgets you have like 3-4 other classes to worry about. He gives you a chapter to read every week, PDFs, PPTs and weblinks. You need to read and review all of those because theres 2 quizzes every week. He'll give you quiz reviews but some have 40+ questions. and of course he only picks 10 of those. Too much work & unorganized lecture

The syllabus is a mess. Basically, gives in-class quizzes every week (online) and then assigns an additional 2 quizzes on blackboard every week but are all due at the end of the semester. He gives quiz reviews but are not always on the actual test. Overall the class is easy but you are on your own and most likely will not learn anything.

Easiest class I've had at FIU barring Freshman experience. Just remember to stay on top of the weekly quizzes and discussion posts. One simple long discussion due at the end of the semester (I wouldn't call it an essay, too easy to be one and believe me I hate essays). Lectures are kinda boring but he's a cool guy. Attendance non-mandatory.

A LOT of online quizzes, don't leave them to the last minute because they are rather tedious. Lectures are very fun, he has a good sense of humor and often makes pop culture or current social issue references. Usually will not answer emails, so talk to him in person. Offers extra credit, and final paper is relatively short.

Hated him and the class. A ton of reading that was never integrated into the course. Doesn't respond to emails. Absolutely no discussion, it was always just him droning on and making opinions as if they were fact, and saying statements that I would have loved to check the sources on. Super easy A tho- you generally put effort in and you get an A.

Professor Grenier is extremely upfront from what the class constitutes from the beginning of the semester. Every week we had a quiz, a discussion, and to create 3 questions from the chapter assigned. Reviews are provided for every quiz. If you put in the effort, this class should be a breeze. Was caring and understanding of the pandemic situation.

Took this as a 6 week course. 12 Discussions, 12 reading posts, 2 quizzes for extra credit, final essay, final exam. 502 term study guide that you can use for quizzes and exam, but you have to fill it out. I was disappointed with this professor; I read great online reviews, but my personal experience left me let down. First, he accused me of using ChatGPT despite my human-written work being verified. This made him suspicious or angry. Second, his comment on one of my reading assignment was needlessly harsh, stating I did not read any direction.
