Hist of Rock - FUN, study hand out newslettrs for tests, foxy TA (Chris)
The coolest teacher ever!
I LOVED his History of Rock and Roll class, he was so cool and I enjoyed all the videos and music quizzes. He was great, one of the best teachers I have ever had.
Eisel is great. He makes this class fun and interesting. He is a very friendly and fun professor, it's an easy A if you study the newsletters.
Gunnar Eisel was his full name. Interesting topics, jokes, class. However, speaks softly in front of 100 students. It was a crazy class.
Great personality, fun, lots of learning, huge class somewhere like 80-100. To hear him, you must have good hearing or grab a seat closer to him. Test and research paper were somewhat difficult. Teacher aide is better. What's his name again?
Read the newsletter. Show up occasionally you should be fine. He hardly looks at the termpaper. Don't worry about quality, just make sure you have ten or so pages. I turned in the same report as someone else in the class with no problem.
Very funny at times; other times, moody. Sometimes impatient but knows his stuff. Better at showing what he knows than teaching it, but you get a lot out of this class, especially if you're tight with the techs in the lab. Would rather be a music critic.
Gunnar! Man he has no personality. But he makes the class very intersting. You probably are ok skipping class few days of the week. Just get newsletters and study a bit. Easy quizzes, easy test, EASY A!!
The best music history teacher ever
Really Chill, cool, and Lax Guy. I got an A in his class and he rocks!!!! Just make sure to read those packets!
Get ready to fall asleep!!! He goes out of his way to make Rock N Roll boring. Very easy though. Extremely dull and no personality. His T A Egor wasnt much better. Easy A!!!!
Eisel himself is ok (sometimes), he moods change all the time. Can be very funny but can be very boring too. His TA, Jess Hernandez, is who ou need to watch for. Jess is really odd, he acts likes Eisel own slave or something.
Great Teacher! Every class meeting was interesting! You've got to take this guy,
he acts like he invented music. thinks way too higly of himself and yells at you for little things. for ex, i forget to bring my headphones one day and he yells at me and doesnt do anything to my friend who didnt come for 2 weeks. is also very boring.
Cool Guy! Very knowledgable! Laid Back, be ready to watch tons of videos. READ THE PACKETS! You'll get an easy A if these instructions are followed!
This class is so fun! All you do is watch rock and roll movies and listen to music. Tests aren't super-easy, but they definately aren't hard, just know the packets. I learned SO much in this class and its actually useful stuff you can talk to your friends about. DEFINATELY reccommend this class.

fun and easy class. Mr. eisel knows his stuff. lots of videos. study the handouts and you'll do great.
How can one make Rock and Roll boring?? I dunno ask Mr. Eisel...ZZzzZzzZzz
If you have a passing familiarity with rock history, you'll breeze thru the class no problem. For those looking for an easy A, it is. Either way, you'll probably learn something.
Easy A. I don't think I ever got an A on a quiz/test, and only one on a film report and got an A. Just show up fairly regularly, do the work (even if you don't do it well), and it's in the bag.
watch out for jess...one strange guy!
great class.
the class is very easy, yet the tests are amazingly hard....
This class was so dang boring! I didn't really learn a whole lot, but it is an easy A and is transferable so go for it. Just try to stay awake!!!!!
THE BEST CLASS I EVER TOOK, AN EASY A, HE MAKES YOU APPRECIATE MUSIC FROM ITS ROOTS, I'M OLDER AND REMEMBER MOST OF THE MUSIC, BUT HE GAVE US THE HISTORY. LOOKED FORWARD TO ALL THE VIDEOS
Very easy class. He gives alot of tests but as long as you read the news letters you'll do well. It was an interesting and kick back class to take if you want an easy A.
I want to take the class again i liked it so much!
I took this class during last summer.Very fun class if you like different types of music or open minded. Two or three essays after each movie, two or three tests. I would do it agian!
awesome teacher. he really knows what he's talking about. he is a very easy grader, so dont even sweat the essays you ever have to write. what more can i say. easy grader, cool guy.
super easy ... but hte listening to what style was hard... but easy extra credit 25 pts out of 300 in the class i get all c and d on test but full pt on film review and extra credit and get an A
Now this is a fun class!!! I took this over a year ago and loved it. I wish it was longer due to it excells through the music genres tooo fast. I would like to take again Mr. Eisel is a cool guy and helpful. FUN,FUN,FUN... I seroiusly recommend to take this class.
Class is okay. He is a really nice professor.
Interesting class, very easy , pretty fun for a school course. Would take again.
Very fun and easy class. May seem boring because of all the movies you watch. Just take notes and read the newsletters and you will pass the tests. You can write his papers the same day it is due and still get an "A" on it.
Contradicted himself a lot.
The most boring class i have taken, he hates people who don't play the air guitar. If yuo don't show interest in his class he will ignore you. Don't even bother to ask for help, he won't give you any.
I was bored
Eisel is a good teacher that has lost a little bit of his marbles but his newsletters are correct. He sometimes gives wrong information but he never tests on that anyways! I think he is a great teacher for rock and roll. I had fun all the time in that class.

Great Class, Great Teacher. Funny and intelligent. Only downside is the essays he assigns
His helper thinks he knows everything, but Gunnar is cool. I liked him alot. Hated the tests because I felt like despite how hard I studied I did poorly on tests, so pay attention to lectures. You will write papers!

his class is awesome!!!
The tests weren't so easy as you'd think. It isn't that easy of an A, you do have to do work. It is a great class, though. I LOVED IT!!!
little class participation...learned mucho....
awesome dude, knew his****. easy tests, easy essays, easy A
i got a b, it was pretty cool. i liked how he played music videos when we walked into class. it gave it a relazing feel. you basically listen to music and read lyrics to songs. id recommend him.
hes sooo annoying. he talks/lectures SO much. but his class is HeLLa easy. i hate when he COUNTS!!! like the beats, if anyone has taken rock n roll, they know what im talking about lol
He was hilarious... he teaches what he knows best! Funny thing is if u piss him off, he'll embarrass the crap outa u! I saw him at work n even tho he didnt recognize me... i said hi n he PRETENDED that he knew me... which was still nice of him... loll..
cool guy
BORING! even though I got a 'B' without doing much work... I still thought the way he taught the class was a waste of my time.... zzzzzzzzzzzz!
He has got to be the worst teacher i have had so far. He only cares about the jocks, he loves the kids that sit up front and make stupid comments. Study dates and record labels for the test, that is all that's on there. His T.A. was a perv.
Prof. Eisel is the most musically ambitious person, with the most knowledge of the subject, I have ever met. Although challenging, the class' rigid structure is underscored by his ability to teach a subject and teach it well. I have a distant respect for this man's knowledgable and humorous anecdotes which are well placed and insightful.
Easy class, guaranteed C or your a moron. Just show up and watch his outdated films and you'll be ok. Also, try to avoid his freaky little/Beatle loving/ freakish sidekick.
Mr. Eisel is the funniest man i've had at citrus. He's funny and makes the class interesting and fun, test are easy just remember a few dates here and there. Very cool i recommend him.
He is BORING, and when asking questions, his response is rude, sarcastic, and unhelpful. I will never take a class with him again.
his class is so dumb. his tests are not all dates and we watch a thousand movies that hav nothing to do with the tests, i regret taking him soo much. his assistant is gay
Be sure to make a friend or two in his class, it usually helps on attendance since Eisel usually passes out a sign-in sheet. Even though the class was pretty boring, I learned alot about the subject. His tests are easy if you study the printouts. Overall an okay class.
This was my most enjoyable class last semester. I enjoyed his lectures but movies were boring. If you do your work and study just a little bit, you should have no problem getting an A. His History of Rock and Roll classes are huge with over 100 people per class so if you don't mind just being a number, take this class even if you don't like Rock.
Awesome class!!! There are 3 factors that make up your grade. (1) There is a test for each chapter, just read the chapter and listen to the lectures and you'll easily pass the tests. (2) Show up to class (or have someone sign your name in). (3) Turn in your 2 essays (about 1 -2 pages each). Great class, great teacher, and cool Rock n' Roll facts!
rock n roll, is easy A , this funny old man is giving away grades, assistant is gay
rock and roll is the stupidest class EVER!!! his assistant is mean to and so is gunner
Packed class and EASY! He is cool. Show up to class, do the reading-(book) & Handouts and you will do fine. Easy A. Take notes on films and read them! I had him for American music and that class was the same...easy, just follow the time lines. NO PHONES or talking (non Music)! He gets pissed and gives pop quizes.
this class isn't as fun as i thought it would be. he makes rock and roll boring. we really only listen to music that he personally likes and we spent WAY too much time just learning about the beatles when we could've learned about soo much more. the tests are kinda hard, but i guess the class is over all kinda easy. HIS ASSISTANT IS A FAT JERK.
History of Rock and Roll was so easy!
IF YOU LOVE MUSIC YOU'LL LOVE THIS CLASS I HATE MUSIC HISTORY SO I HATED THIS CLASS BUT WITH THAT SAID I STILL GOT MY A SO YAY!!! PPL SEEMED TO REALLY ENJOY THIS CLASS, NO HMRK NO NOTHING JUST ONE PAPER TOWARDS THE END THAT'S THE EASIEST THING IN THE WORLD GOT IT DONE IN AN HR. HE'S GOT A T.A. THOGHT THAT'S ANNOYING, DOESN'T DO MUCH BUT STARE!
This guy has been teaching since my step-dad went to Citrus. Needless to say he knows his stuff. Before I had no interest in music but I found his class was an eye opener. I guess before his class I never really "listened" so much as I thought. Tis easy so long as you show up and do the 1 paper assigned. No book but be sure to print the material!
well his class is super easy. just read the chapters. kinda boring tho.
Probably the worst teacher I have ever had. Don't get me wrong, the guy is smart and he knows his material... he doesn't teach it. His class is so boring and he just sits there and drones on about material that has nothing to do with the tests. He has a major attitude and is very arrogant.
HORRIBLE! I regret taking this class.Only because the teacher was rude, self absord and top it all off he is really boring and by the time you get of the class all you want to do is scream. So to all who are thinking about taking his class would advise you don't to take the class unless you would like to be bord out of your mind like I was.
BORINNNG! knows his material but doesn't teach it correctly. going to class is a waste of time. if you read the articles on his website you'll pass the tests. do the paper he assigns, it's really easy and helps out your grade. his assistant has no chin and is annoying. always telling you to put your phone away....NCG! (NO CHIN GUY)
Prof. Eisel wasn't as horrid as everyone here has made him. His class isn't the worst. He over talks about the Beatles though. So if you want to know everything about the Beatles go for it. The class gets better after the first few classes though. He seemed nice enough. His smartassness made me laugh. probably because it was never aimed at me...
class was ridiculously easy. except learning about the beatles for 6 hours straight. made me want to kill myself. and the T.A. is a phil spector look-a-like. other than that its the easiest thing ive ever taken. i seriously got an A+.
class isnt hard but really boring
Very easy going, understandable teacher with an amazing knowledge of Rock N Roll. It's clear music is his life. A few pointers; go to every class, read the book, don't judge the music based on your musical preferences, don't EVER let him see you with a cell phone or doing anything other than paying super-close attention to him during the lecture.
There is no reason why anyone shouldn't get an A in this class. All you need to do is show up to class every now and then, take the tests, and do one paper. If you know your music (like i did)you don't even really need to study.
History of rock n roll If you show up and learn his study guide and dont play with you cell its a easy A. Lots of extra credit. He uses his own online book so it was FREE! If you go in with an open mind to learn its pretty interesting.
Took this class in the fall of 2007. Easy A on the paper. Just show up and try your hardest. Got an A. You should be fine.
took history or rock n roll over winter at night from 4-10:40, he never lets you out early. his Teacher assistant Emelio is a complete ****. well both of them are. easy A
History of Rock N Roll-6 week winter course. Found it interesting. Not difficult class but pay attention, take notes & stay off your dang cell. Not the best in the "people person" department..him or his sidekick. I agree, go with open mind & you'll enjoy. Good luck.
This class is super easy. All he does is lecture all period and your just supposed to take notes for the test, but you don't really need to cuz he goes over the whole test the day of the test. The only thing is he does not like phones.....so don't let his creepy TA see you on your phone or he will come bug you all period.
Easy class if you pay attention. Don't ask dumb questions. Lots of extra credit. Music is your interpretation so expect some disagreements. He thinks the sex pistols are an example of punk, they were manufactured crap. You will waste days on the beatles. Emelio is creepy, will lurk around the room and check girls out, Stay off your cell phone!
this is an easy class to pass! if you know the music i would say take the class, although its hard to stay awake during his powerpoints he throws a joke in here and there, he's a pretty chill teacher. I only showed up on test days and got a B. if you need units i would say take this class
It's an easy class, but extremely boring unless if you're all into rock music. Teacher is nice and friendly, but his chinless TA is a total ****! He's like a cell phone cop telling you to put it away. Not only that, but he goes around to check out the hot girls. Watchout for that chinless creepy guy as he is only there to bug you
Took him for harmony and musicianship. Harmony was impossible. I struggles almost from the beginning. The musicianship class is very easy.
It is a fairly easy class as long as you study for the exams. However, Eisel made Mus. 113 an extremely boring class! Also, his TA can be a real jerk at times. He shows us a lot of movies and moves quickly through his lectures. Simply put: unless you are a music major, this is not a fun class at all. And I really disliked Eisel's lectures.
Arrogant. He acts like we should know the material... Makes you feel stupid. Easy A... But I would not advise asking questions. Would never take him again. Rude man.
Great class but could've been better. No HM, and easy tests if you really enjoy music history. Take the class.
The easiest class I've taken by a landslide. No HW, no text book, just 8 simple quizes. About 50 extra credit points available which aren't at all neccesary. And it's a fun class even if his music choices from the 80's on are a bit sketchy. We spent a lot of time on Green Day which are pretty flat musically. He should know that.
Really easy....just attend class ....somtimes!
Very easy class, you mainly have to just show up to class, read the material he gives you, and take the tests. It was an easy A for me, but the only draw back is that the class kinda gets boring by the end of the class.
EASY. Gets pretty boring especially if you are familiar with the facts. He takes role daily so don't miss. I stopped taking notes after the first 2 weeks and just reviewed the study guide and printout and passed the class with more points than possible. A lot of extra credit, really hard to fail but somehow people still do.
The tests are very easy and he offers extra credit. The textbook is free and online which is great. I would recommend taking this class in a 16 week semester instead of the summer session. Attendance is mandatory because roll is taken multiple times throughout the class. NO HOMEWORK! :)
He's a good teacher here, his class is pretty easy here. This band here, and that band here, and Elvis here, and 8 tracks here.. here here here here here here. Every other word is "here" it's driving me crazy.
Class was pretty straightforward, 3 tests with 6-8 extra credit listening questions, a non-cumulative final with a cumulative 25-question listening exam. Eisel wrote the book, which he hosts on his website, along with test reviews and Powerpoints. I recommend him if you need art credits. If it's a 6-week semester, you'll rarely stay all 4.5 hours.
Class: Easy class, goes through powerpoints the whole class, never stay the whole time, test is 25 questions mostly, don't have to pay attention in class just study his website. HIM: super chill but says "here" and "right?yes" ALL THE TIME!! honsetly only thing from keeping me from ditching all the time is the teacher assistant, he's hot!
Failed the first half of the tests and passed the other half. There is a quiz every week or every other week. Read the chapters (very short chapters) and study. Easy A. Despite the failed half the quizzes I still ended up with an A. Attendance does count so show up! Final test is a bit difficult due to the listening test which contains samples of all genres of music discussed in class.
It was a pretty interesting class but I didn't like it as much when it got to the 70s. Tests are solely based on your grade so you want to use the study guide, look over your notes, and read the chapter so you can do well. Not really a friendly teacher. didn't like the listening because I had a hard time telling which genre it was.
I absolutely LOVE this class. Mr. Eisel is very passionate about the subject and makes it very fun for everyone. I wish i could take this class again! Also, the TA is one sexy piece of man. haha and he and mr. eisel's conversations are hilarious. its also fairly easy.. just pay attention in class and read the his website and you should do fine! (:
I took this class in 1997 it was my favorite class in my college career. I graduated Citrus then received my BS LaVerne and my PHD at MIT. I now teach Statistics at the Medical school at the University of Hawaii. Best class I ever took.
This was an easy class if you were there and looked at the powerpoints online. He gives sample questions. He makes it impoossible to fail the class. And the book is online at no cost to you.
be prepared to be bored out of your mind, but it is an easy A
Most boring class ever! Regret taking. Got a B without hardly ever studying. Everything's online but attendance is mandatory unfortunately it affects your grade.
This class is really not as easy as ppl make it seem! The main difficulty of the class for most ppl, including myself, is probably the SPECIFIC GENRES he expects us to know on the tests! ex: Metal, heavy metal, first wave metal, second wave metal,etc...then there's there's LOTS of names of artists and their instruments.Class is okay, but tests suck!
I thoroughly enjoyed taking this class. As long as you read the chapters on his website and attend class, you will do fine. Mr. Eisel is very dedicated to music and really knows his stuff. Wish I can take it again and again. Thank you Mr. Eisel.
Great teacher. I really enjoyed his class. Lectures were interesting, just pay attention. Tests were not hard if you paid attention and showed up. No book needed. All material was available online. Learned a lot. Taught from a neutral position which was nice. All in all an interesting class that was not difficult. I got an A. Lots of extra credit.
I really have an interest in rock and roll which is probably why I enjoyed it so much. The class will only be interesting if you make it that way. You must meet the professor halfway. He's clear, nice, and passionate about his job. Attend class, pay attention, and participate as much as possible. Easy A.
Class could have been much better than what it was. Couldn't take Eisel seriously on anything he said because every statement is followed by "Right?, Yes?" with an upward inflection as if he's asking for validation. You're the one with the masters in music theory, not me. Maybe it's me, but the class felt more like a chore than anything.
Some of the chapters were interesting but, this class is not easy as it seems. You really need to study for the exams. 8 exams in total and a listening test. Gives out extra credit. Every chapter has an outline but don't just study the questions on the outline because some of them will not be on the exam.
Easy class. Best part of the class is that you don't need a book. If you get a B in this class you pretty much fail in life. Every test has extra credit.
Hist of R&R was so easy and delightful, I was sad that it had to end. My friend and I "studied" for each test for about an hour and aced the class. Gunnar is awesome, although he can seem strict at times. Show up to class (ask if you can bring your own chairs), stay awake, review the power-point at home and you will have no trouble getting an A.
the only class I will ever say I took for just the grade,Eisel talks rather on a pedestal than actually teaching. He talks as if we are suppose to know all the music and knowledge that he knows. He comes off very rude at times too.I think if he actually taught than showing off all the stuff hes done or places hes been to then everyone would enjoy.
Easy class. No textbook, has a pdf available via his website with course material. I knew little about rock before, now know who George Harrison is. Post review of exam online and exams are easy. Offers plenty of extra credit.
Great teacher that knows his subject, and has control over the classroom. Can not say how much I appreciated his complete intolerance for texting in his class. He caught some kid doing it and stopped the class and gave a 5 minute lecture on how rude it was. Awesome, I wish more teachers would enforce this on these children. Great class!
Easy class if you study the powerpoints! He gives study guides for every test but don't just study them just study the whole powerpoints. No book he has his book as a pdf( the powerpoints). Pay attention and attend every class.
He's a nice guy. There are so many genre's covered. Class is easy, tests are not. Study the guides thoroughly.
Attendance is not mandatory, but if you miss one day, you missed a lot of lecture notes that are not in the power points. No books needed. He is very knowledgeable of his material. He gives study guide, but study hard, is not an easy A class. Auditorium seatings,no tables so I had back pain from bending over and writing notes. Loved the material
This class is definitely NOT an easy A. Just like any other class you need to be focused and take notes. Mr.Eisel is a great teacher, he is very passionate about music which makes the class even better. If you take notes and attend each class and actually study you will do great. He has no tolerance for people talking or texting in class.
It's a fairly easy class. Class is 100% tests, no assignments nor presentations. Just show up to class and listen and you'll do fine. posts review online and gives extra credit listening test on even numbered tests. Very easy and super fun.
His class is enjoyable if you read the handout, attend class, don't talk or text, and review before tests. If you don't attend or disrupt the class, you won't do great. It would be helpful if Eisel would just dismiss repeating offenders from the lecture. It's very distracting when he stops the lecture to correct a disrespectful student.
He's a great teacher, you can clearly see he cares about his class. It's fairly easy if you pay attention. He posts test reviews online that are very helpful! Do not be on your phone though, he will call you out which is understandable. I learned a lot and obviously it's great to listen to good music! The TA, Chris, was sooo cute too!
This was a really interesting class. The lectures were great, and gave tons of examples which made everything very easy to understand and apply. Most lecture slides were posted online, and there were many practice quizzes, so it's almost hard not to pass. Just pay attention and you'll be fine.
Its cool
If you enjoy sitting through long lectures in chairs without tables, this is the perfect class for you. He doesn't like you on your phone, falling asleep or walking out in the middle of lectures and he will call you out on it. HE very rarely takes role so it's easy to miss. Overall, the class was very easy and you don't need a textbook.
Great professor. Although it is not an easy A, as long as you show up to class and pay attention you will do fine. Tests are really easy as he gives out study guides and extra credit. I like his no cell phone policy as it keeps distractions away. I definitely recommend taking his class especially if you love rock and roll.
His class was relatively easy. The majority of the class was focused around films and all of our reports and majority of the tests (Blue Book) were about the films. The class was long and somewhat boring but was a definite easy A and is transferable. Eisel answers emails and is a funny guy. Don't cut up in class though or you will hear from him.
This class is so boring! All we do is listen to him talk and take notes. He hardly even takes attendance(only took it twice). He is very rude in person and in email! He has a study guide online. And most of it isn't even on the test. You really have to know rock n roll to enjoy this class. Don't take this class. And I got a "B" in this class!
Eisel was a pretty cool professor. The class consists of eight chapter tests and three extra credit listening tests - given out on each even test. He is very strict on cell phones and will call you out for it. He posts study guides of each chapter/listening tests which will have sample questions - some may be on the test.
I enjoyed taking this course during Fall 2015 because of how interactive and fun his lectures were. He gave many tests and quizzes and they are pretty easy if you read his study guides. I would recommend using flash cards to study. The only thing that disappointed me was the fact that I got an 88.9% in his class and he refused to raise to an A.
Eisel was a pretty good professor. His lectures are very clear and understandable, and tests are pretty easy as long as you look at his study guides online. I haven't asked him for help, but I'm pretty sure he will help you if you ask him. No textbook required for this class.
Such an AWESOME class, i definitely recommend if you are one of those who enjoy music and are interested in its origins and such. Teacher was such a nice person and gave good understandable lectures. Overall such an easy class, there's a lot of memoring but if you are interested in the subject it shouldn't be a problem.
Professor Eisel is a great professor. He clearly knows his stuff and it shows throughout his lectures. I took this class in the winter so the classes were three hours long. Unfortunately most of my body went numb every night from the extremely uncomfortable chairs. His class was based solely on tests (study the guide, your notes and online notes)
I did great through out the whole semester and got an "F" when I checked my grade. It was such an easy class, professor is very rude, made my friend cry once because she was smiling and he thought that was disrespectful. He didn't even explain why I got an "F". He rarely takes attendance but when he does, it might be the day you don't show up.
Definitely use the restroom before class! One of his biggest pet peeves was students walking out during a lecture no joke he would stop to ask why they were leaving. Really cool professor. Make sure to pay attention and do not use your phone he will stop the lecture as well to ask about the use. You must REVIEW the chapter review test it will help!
I took this class thinking it would be an easy A and its not! You definitely have to attend class and pay attention. Test are not too hard but you have to study! He takes his class very seriously. He knows his stuff but the seats are very uncomfortable and his 3 hour lectures are tough to sit through.
I feel I succeeded in the class due to my interest in music. It may prove to be difficult for some people who may not share that same interest also because majority of his classes are lectures, but they're good lectures. Pay attention, TAKE NOTES, study them, and you will be fine. He offers a ton of extra credit around the end of the course too!
Easy class, just very lecture heavy. class is based off test only which are very easy as long as you study, attendance is a must.
Eisel is the best history of Rock & Roll teacher there is. His lectures are amazing and so in the music that is played before class. he only grades test and there is no homework. The test are easy if you pay attention to the lecture.
The class is what is history of rock n roll. Extremely easy tests and the tests are the only thing that determine your grade. Study the slides for the class and you will pass. I barely even showed up and got an A. The teacher is a little biased though about music so be prepared to hear about what he likes rather than the history of rock n roll.
4 tests no homework. Whole class is based on those 4 tests but study the slides and reviews and you'll do good.
He's definitely knowledgable when it comes to older music, a lot of his lectures involve powerpoint slides but not all information that will be on the tests are on the slides so you need to show up for class, he has an online website where you can access the slides ahead of time (highly recommend you print them out before class begins).
The only things you're graded on are the tests and the final, but they're pretty easy and there's always extra credit questions. If you miss class, all the slides are on his website, so you can read it to see what you missed. As long as you pay attention and review the slides before the test, you'll pass.
Class consisted of exams which are auditory and scantron based. For me this was one of the worst classes i've ever taken. Prof Eisel is very sarcastic. He dislikes when students walk out of class to use the bathroom and will call you out on it. I wouldn't recommend taking this class.
Great music and philosophy to go with it. Funny and easy going. Get let out of class early. Test reveiws are posted on his website with plenty of time to study. Just study for the test and listen a few songs or more if you dont know the era.
Easy class super easy literally easiest class i have taken at Citrus
Very easy class, no homework at all Just had to study a bit and hear songs and will pass easily, cool teacher and will give breaks every day
Easiest class of my life! Took his winter course. No he! Only 4 tests. Just read the lectures and study the study Guide! Sooooo easy!!!
He is a jerk. Interesting class but lectures are very long. His study guides also do not prepare you much for tests
This is was an easy class. Just show up and take notes. He has a study guide online that have questions that are on the test.
Super easy just show up and study
I love this teacher he has a lot of knowledge !
This is my second time taking one of Professor Eisel classes. I love that he is so into the music he teaches, n he tells us stories from experience not just reading off a book. Class is fun due to his sarcastic commentary, nothing to be butt hurt about just some light hearted remarks. Sad to hear he's leaving soon.
Homework is reading his study guides and slides online. Listen to the samples he gives. He does take role but it's not everyday. No text book. Easy class for me. Some did struggle in his class but those are the ones who show up here and there and fall asleep in class.
Great professor. He is very funny and has a lot of great personal stories that he shares with his lectures.
Literally dont have to show up to pass; doesnt take attendance. Gives no homework, only has 4 tests and posts the study guide for those tests. Dont sleep in his class he will catch you, and he dislikes people getting up and leaving early. Overall great class enjoyed it!
Worst professor. would not recommend taking.
A lot of people didn't pass this class, not because it was hard but because they didn't pay attention. Listen to lectures, take notes, be respectful and the class will be a breeze. My favorite class I have ever taken, with an amazing professor!
His sense of humore
I showed up, took notes, and got an A. The class can be easy if you: show up, take notes, and study. Enjoys what he teaches. DO NOT USE PHONE OR STUDY IN CLASS! HE WILL NOTICE! I would take him again.
I did not have the best experience with Mr. Eisel. His class doesn't have any homework or projects, but his tests are worth a lot and the study guides don't prepare you at all. He's very sarcastic and is not interested in helping his students pass.
Super interesting class, no homework pure powerpoint lectures with documentary clips and music videos! online website that each study guide is on!
This course focuses on the rock musician. Listening and classroom discussion will be stressed. Test: true and false, multiple questions, and listening portion. Skip class you miss a lot of information that will be on the test. Listen carefully to the music.
Good guy who obviously loves what he does and knows what hes talking about, but his study guides dont prepare you for the exams.
I thought I was going to like this class but I was disappointed, I took this class Spring 2018 and every time I was in class I was falling asleep, I have never done that to any of my other classes, the only good thing was that we listened to music everyday and videos. I got a D, he was kind of rude. I didn't learn anything as much as I wanted to
Told us old stories about his past to help understand what was going on.
