He was a very entertaining prof and I enjoyed coming to his class. He is a lenient marker so it helps when you miss a step in a question. If you have taken calculus in high school and you show up to his lectures, you will do just fine! I didn't use my textbook but if you want a lot of practise problems I would recommend it!

Cant thank this professor enough for helping like and understand math. I struggled with math all through high school tell I took his course. I would highly recommend him. More then a fair marker makes everything make sense and makes sure ALL his students understand.

Given the fact that his class starts at 8:30 am in the morning, it wont matter because having Gurmail as my Math professor, everything will be worth it. He is very KIND and GENEROUS. Gurmail is a great professor. After each example he would ask the class if we understood and if one person wavered he would put another example up so that they understood.

Best Math professor at the University, take Math 103 if you can with him. As long as you show up to class and pay attention, it's easy to do really well in his class.

Great prof! Must attend lectures if you want to pass. All of the examples that are done on the board are on the quizzes, midterm, and final, there is no surprises. He's very clear in his lectures, I didn't even need to open the textbook. He tells you what to expect on tests and gives many samples to practice from. Generous marker!

Not a Math lover at all and didn't believed that maths can ever go this smooth. Thanks to professor Singh and his way of teaching and helpfulness. He is all set to give good grades to students who want to make a little effort. You just take his class and read through what he teaches in class and you can easily score 100 for sure.

Gurmail is one of the best profs I have every had!!!! All tests and quizzes were really easy, basically because he tells everyone whats gonna be on the tests and quizzes. Every class we just did examples on the board, and if you didn't understand something he would clarify your problem nicely. Totally recommend this prof!!!

I had this professor for math 122. If you show up to class there is no way you won't pass. Studying outside of class is a easy 90 plus. He is so clear and concise he makes math truly look easy I hope to one day have another class with him.

Dr. Singh truly cares about his students. He is a generous marker that always gives you the benefit of the doubt. He made sure to deliver the entire syllabus. Not every instructor does. He understands that the real goal of life is not to get a grade, a diploma, or even a job, but instead to be happy. I respect him and would take his class again.

Dr. Singh made this entry level class fun. He explained the concepts at such a basic level that even the students that find math difficult were able to grasp the concepts and pass. He also included some examples and ideas for students that enjoy learning more than just the minimum needed to pass. One of the best math professors I have had.

Gurmail is an awesome instructor. Like other people said, he really does seem to care about his students, and he wants them all to pass, as long as they want to pass too. His accent is sometimes a bit thick, and it can be hard to understand him if he speaks too quickly, but if you let him know, it shouldn't be an issue.

sometimes his way of presenting theorems was a bit confusing but overall i took away a lot from his lectures after i adjusted to his style. he is a good professor and i would take him again.

Dr. Singh is the BEST! Even though this class is difficult, he explained everything really well! He was VERY generous with his marking, and was always available outside of class(even the day of the FINAL!) to help! The textbook is not required, but it helps explain concepts even more! Take a class with Dr. Singh and you won't regret it!

What can I say... This guy is the sole reason I passed calculus! I am terrible at math and Gurmail made the concepts easy! Not only that but I found his class was always a joy to go to and I absolutely hate math! Would take his class again in an instant!

One of the best professor in the whole department, His teaching and lectures are so crystal clear that even a person from other faculty can easily do math. No doubt he is hilarious and make the lectures fun and embraced. I'd highly recommend his class to a person who hates math but he/she has to take it for credit or required for his/her course.

Gurmail Singh is by far one of the best teacher in UofR who is there for his students and will do anything to make sure that everyone understands what he is teaching. He also will be there before any test to help out if you have questions and will do his best to help you understand the topic. Just make sure you go to class and do your homework.

Great teacher! Even though he assigns questions from the textbook, if you have a solid enough background in Calculus, you should be able to score a 95+ without opening the textbook at all.

He is the best Math teacher i've seen in my whole life. I would love to take all other math courses with him if i can. If you want to pass then you have to just do the classes and read the class notes. It's as easy as that.

Mr. Singh teaches our welding mathamatics, which i may add is a Math10/20 class from the 90s. He is the most patient and caring prof I have met, he celebrates with us in our successes and he educates us in our weaker points. I would not only take his teachings further, I would request them. Really great prof. The people who don't like him are probably the ones that just don't want to listen to his simple instructions, which is "don't talk." He sounds very harsh during lecture but is extremely nice one-on-one. Math isn't my best subject but I did very well with Gurmail!

Such a great prof. He provides a lot of examples and gives questions almost identical to ones that will be on exams. His only rule during lectures is no talking. I came from other section to attend his lectures. He explains pretty well, sometimes I wasn't able to get things in during the lecture but after the class. He explained everything patiently. Funny thing is, he never rush while explaining especially during one on one session and always willing to stay until a student's doubt are not cleared.

This professor is very attentive when it comes to students doubts. I have taken 2 classes with Singh now, and although the actual class is not that useful, he is a fun professor to have, and a very easy marker. You have to learn the entire class from the lab and assignments, but very easy to get a very high mark. Absolutely would take more classes with this professor later in my cs degree.

Dr Singh cares ALOT about his students He is so respectful and nice to the students. He tries his best to teach the topics in a clear way If you show up to the class I will guarantee you, you will pass his course with at least 65 or higher The only thing that makes him mad is cheating. I took his class and found that the lectures aren't as useful as the additional videos he posts so make sure to watch those if you are having any trouble learning the content. He is fair/generous with marks and as long as you attend the lectures and don't cheat, you will be rewarded.

Whatever he teaches in class is very relevant to what he puts in Assignments. Not like others prof's who don't go through coding in deep.

Gurmail is a rare case in the CS department. He's a pretty sweet professor. You can't always understand what he is talking about, but he is very accessible to talk to for review and feedback. He wants to make sure everyone passes.

Gurmail's style of teaching could be a bit difficult to follow up with. However, Gurmail will make sure you understand the topics and you are able to pass his class. The only thing you would need to work hard on is, reading the materials and the textbook. Some students might disagree with me, but he's the best prof in this university so far.
