Great Professor. He helped you think outside the lines and put the world into a new perspective. He offers plenty of extra credit to those who want it. Totally awesome.

Very good teacher. Made us watch boring videos, but we had great discussions. The tests were pretty easy and lots of extra credit was offered. I loved the class!

This class rocks! During the summer it might seem hectic at first, but he's really cool. He teaches from an OBJECTIVE perspective and really makes you think. He offers a bunch of extra credit and hes very easy to approach. He's great.

He's an ok teacher, i think he likes to hear himself talk, but his work is easy. make sure you do the stupid study guides cause thats where the questions on the test come from.

It may seem like he doesnt know what he is doing but he some how ties everything together....do the work and u get a A. only down fall is that he waits till end f class to tell u about somethings.

teach love to talk about politics..only had 2 take home quizes and he never gave tests..one research paper at the end but he grades really easy..he offers lots of extra credit and can turn in late work at any time.

This "Guy" is a good teacher. He is very leniant with the work that is due. Accepts late work as if it wasn't late. Gives a lot of extra credit. Talks a lot but I guarantee you will stay awake. It's an interesting class. Just report to class and do the work(which is barely anything)and you'll pass.

very very easy class. even though the class is very easy, you learn a lot about our history. the teacher is the best and kepts the class interesting. very nice and FUNNY guy

Doesn't seem to interested in teaching. Mostly has students give presentations and puts on videos.Gave alot of homework but it eased as the sem. went on. Was not very clear about what he expected from the assignments he set.Nice guy very knowledgable and funny-I'm just not sure he is a good teacher.

I like him alot. he makes class interesting just by talking alot. hah.. im act.rating him right now when im supposed to be doing his homework. alot of group work, but its fun. I would definatley take his class again.

mr. calabrese is awesome i really like him. he grades pretty easy and the homework is easy plus he lets you turn it in late! he is pretty helpful with questions you have he does talk alot through class and lots of videos but i liked it there is also some group work nothing hard though so take him =)

Wow! This is one of the best classes I have ever taken. Awesome teacher and very open about his opinions-which I usually agreed upon. Makes the class interesting, without throwing in a bunch of nonsense busy work! Curved most of the tests and always helped when needed. I would DEF. RECOMMEND!!

This teacher is very nice. He shows a lot of videos and talks a lot. Class goes by very fast, and he is not booorring. He gives a lot of Worksheets but dosnt always check them. The only thing that sux abotu his class is his tests. But they arent a lot of points... GREAT TEACHER

Professor Calabrese is really down to earth. He gives tons of extra credit, I don't see how you could not get an A. His test are easy, just study the work sheets he gives you for the Chapter, Give good Power Point presentations and you are set! Enjoy!

Second time I've taken him. Great class, fun, and lots of discussion in class. We watch movies that pertain to what we're studying, more contemporary movies sometimes, it's kool. Watch slide shows, write three or four papers which are easy going, and in class quizzes that I'd advise you to read. ;)

I've had Guy twice now and he is great. Really cool guy, and questions EVERYTHING. If you are willing to argue your point he will like you even more. 3 Papers, 2 1000 wrd and 1 3000 wrd. Not too hard if you enjoy your topic. He rocks. and wears funny shirts.

TO bad hes not teaching anything other than intro next sem. because i would have taken him again in a heart beat! He's a great guy, funny, not to hard of a grader. I got an A and i hate writing!!

He is an amazing teacher because not only does he give you extra credit but their are barely any tests. We had three test! You will have one major paper but you choose the topic. Easy Grader to. He really knows his stuff. If you are looking to take a class that is going to get you an A PLUS LEARNING SOMETHING TAKE HIS CLASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great teacher, makes the class interesting, even though it's 3 hours long. Smart, great sense of humor. You need to work for your grade, but he's a very fair grader. He managed to get me enthusiastic about humanities.

Very good teacher, took him over the summer for A term. Passed with an A. Had three or four take home quiz's which really like test but followed the text exactly. One powerpoint project but that was also easy. He gets off topic easily and is pretty funny. highly recommend him

Awesome guy! He really is just interested in your thoughts. I had him for a 5 week class and he made it a breeze. We had maybe 5 inclass 10 question quizes and 1 major paper with a powerpoint project. Hes funny and he seems to care. As long as you talk when called on and partcipate you will get an A. Highly Recommend!

This is the best professor ever. I took him for two Hum classes and loved every min of it. All the assignments are very doable. He really makes you think about topics that you "shouldn't" in school. It is very open minded and he tells you on the first day. TAKE ANY OF HIS CLASSES

Great professor. Made the class interesting and is always joking with the class. Likes to ask for people's opinions on "world" issues, but doesn't interrogate. Such an easy A class. Easy worksheets & only 1 research paper with a powerpoint presentation, which is also the final exam. I would definitely take him again.

Prof. Calabrese is awesome. I took him this sememster. His class is so easy. Just a few simple worksheets, group assignments that take 5 minutes. And also one research paper and powerpoint presentation which is also final! Take him you'll be happy with an easy A

even though this class was easy...i did not like it. it was obvious that he had his favorite people. the only thing we had to do in his class was worksheets, little group activities, one research paper, and a powerpoint presentation. you have to attend class, after three he drops you. or he'll get on your case if you miss more than three.

Awesome class! there is alot of busy work but its all in the book word for word. Hes very easy going and an over all great guy. The videos are boring but its humanities, what do you expect? a big project at the end but he offers all the help you need. Attendence wasnt necessary,he always takes late work for full credit. Take him!

Awesome prof. tough on attendance but almost all prof are at VCC. Learned more in this class than an in all my other class combined. Extremeley interesting and fun. Does pick on the people in the front row a lot but doesn't make favorites. Extremely helpful, lots of extra credit.

interesting professor, fairly easy except the 5 page essay. I hated the **** group work (you're screwed if he pairs you with retards). One of the most unorganized classes I've ever been in. Dispite that I recommend him.

Calabrese is an ok teacher. he can be kind of a jerk sometimes but if you ignore him you will be fine. Doesnt assign a lot of work but when he does assign it its group work. Hard quizzes and tests but only had about 3 all together. Do all assignments even if you bs them and a 5 pg paper due at end of the semester. easy A. Deffinately take him.

I had this class on a Saturday morning. Loved it!! I didn't know anything about Greek/Roman, but I do now. All the instructors should know there material like Mr. Calabrese. His class is worth getting up early on a Saturday! If you don't know you will know when you are done.

Pretty easy A. Alot of group assignments. Some take home quizzes. Final was also take home. Have to complete a five page thesis paper with powerpoint presentation. Do not challenge him on anything he doesnt like it. I would definately take him again! Majority of work take home.

This class was an easy A. A lot of opportunity for extra credit, be smart and take advantage. 5 page paper and presentaion as well as take home tests. Very knowledgeable teacher, highly recommend him.

Great teacher, he is so helpful and if you try in his class you will receive an A. The tests are so easy because he lets you take them home, and if you just show up to class you will do great. He shows lots of videos and helps you learn in new ways. He sometimes lets you go early. Take his class and you will not be unhappy.

Well, what can I say.He is awesome he actually talks with clarity and he can be really helpful. He is hilarious and really entertaining. He talks a lot especially during presentations. Overall a very great professor.

I had him for Greek-Roman and for 20th Century he's a super easy A.. Take home quizzes easy right from the chapter. One thesis paper easy grader on al the assignments. And the classswork is the Chapter Reviews. Your guaranteed an easy A take him!

He is an amazing professor. He offers a lot of extra credit and is really laid back. He has strong views though so be prepared to have debates. It would be in your best interest to be on his good side because he does play favorites. I'm taking him again this fall for Ren./Baroque simply to have him again.

Guy calabrase managed to take 3 hours of my time twice a week but it wasnt that bad because we watched movies and the class is ridicolously easy and there's plenty of extra credit.

he was such a nice teacher. very easy going. his test are super easy and when i took the class last spring we spent an extremely long time with each students presentations (which were very easy). his class is an easy A and he offers a lot of extra credit.

Great Professor... I loved this class. Gives lots of xtra credit but its all about exposure to life. Great class discussions. Does not mind opposing views. But be ready to back them up. Take this Professor!! People who said his class was worthless just do not get it. Yes do the work and get an A but its more than that. Expand your Thinking.

Great teacher! Easy work load as long as you do the work. He definitely opens your mind & pushes you to do your OWN thinking. If you can't do that, then don't take the class. Overall, I would take him again if I had the chance. One of the best teachers at Valencia :)

Best teacher ever. If you are missing social studies credits, take some of his humanities classes. Fun and easy class. Not a lot of work. One or two presentations. Final is take home!

Just take him, I promise you won't regret it. He is very laid back, understanding and hilarious. I had a lot of fun in his classes this semester. Final exam is take home if you convince him.

I highly suggest this professor! Took him for Renaissance and Baroque. He is extremely easy, funny, and laid back. He offers A LOT of extra credit and you barely use the textbook. Final exam is take home after some convincing. It's pretty much impossible to not get an A or B :)

The best professor ever, he give you chances to earn extra credits. Only two tests,one group presentation, individual presentation, and final test. Easy to get an 'A' I recommend you to take his HUM classes.

He is the best professor I ever had. I recommend him for your humanities class.There are many chances for extra credits. I took his class this past summer and I will have him for my last humanities class.

Had him for Intro to Hum and he is a very funny guy! His work is not hard AT ALL. This is the easiest A I have ever obtained in my life. We didn't learn anything. :) If you're religious, prepare to have your religious beliefs questioned. For someone who isn't very religious, this is the hilarious part of the class.

It is an easy class, do the worksheets and go to class, then you should be able to pass with good grades. He gives a lot of extra credits. and the final exam was take home final. He is a really good teacher.

Dr. Calabrese was very relaxed, funny, and easy to work with. I had him my first semester at Valencia and he handed out extra credit non-stop. I had more work finished with extra credit than from what he actually assigned. Wonderful man. I recommend him for humanities!

I just got done with dr. Calabrese summer semester and I must say he's an awesome teacher! He cares about his students and gives a good amount of extra credit! It may seem like a lot of work at the beginning of the semester, but it gets easier in time. Very intelligent and knows what he's talking about. As long as you do the work and pass the quizzes and the term paper(which shouldn't be hard) you'll do just fine

Dr. Calabrese is literally the funniest guy I have ever met! I loved his class it was easy, and he was straight forward with what he wants done! Hard not to pass his class, also for those who say he thinks hes always right, are easily offended. He has never said anything mean, or degrading towards anyone because of their beliefs, just states facts!

Professor Calabrese is really good. He's clear on what he wants and makes sure you understand what you're doing. Many take offense about what he says but you don't have to take it personal, he's just trying to make you see different perspective of certain things. He's, overall, a great teacher and I would take him again.

Very funny, sometimes unorganized. He tells a lot of jokes . When he grades the work it seems like he doesn't even look at it just checks it. then write anything A or B. He likes for the class to be involved , barley any quizzes , one test which is the final. You will have a focus paper 1200 words , easy. 4 worksheets through out the class. Easy A

I had him for general Humanities. He was a great at the disscusions with class and everyone participated. We had homework to do but that was it. He even let us take a quiz home once. He taught me a lot in the process. He questions everything and opens up our minds to new and different things about culture.

His class was the easiest. He does not have ay lectures instead likes to hear everyone's opinion on certain topics and discuss it. He gave us take home quizzes. Only one paper to work for entire semester and four worksheets. Absolutely stressless class if you show up in class and do your work.

If I had the option I would take this class again. This professor is great, he really makes it worth while to come to class. He doesn't base his lectures on the textbook but rather uses his classes participation to guide the discussions.

Great professor, who treats the students with respect. I would definitely recommend him. Each lecture is very interesting. Moreover, professor gives the students an opportunities to improve the grade by doing additional assignments. Each homework and quiz was clear and based on material that we had learnt.

I had him for Summer B in 2016. The only major project I had was a 4 page essay and a presentation about that essay to the class. That is a major part of your grade and without it you may fail. He is not one of those gate keepers so it should be an easy pass. He shows a bunch of videos. Be expected to participate because he may call you out.

At first, this guy may seem like he is kind of crazy but in reality he is amazing. He teaches so well by asking the class deep questions about the specific subject matter. He always gives feedback and will answer any question. He gives extra credit if you're willing to participate. I HIGHLY RECCOMEND TAKING HIM, HE WILL INSPIRE YOU!

Guy Calabrese gives barely any homework. His quizzes are that you print them at home and you turn it in next class. Gives extra credit for just watching movies he recommends and you write a summary on it or bringing in pictures of museums and cultural festivals you've been to. The final exam is a thesis essay/slides and he lets you pick any topic.

From day 1 you will have a clear idea of the kind of teacher you will have. He has his own ideas and opinions that uses for to involve the whole classroom on the specific subject. He pushes you to express your ideas. He's fun and makes the most inappropriate jokes at the most accurate time. If you don't like learning, skip this class

TAKE THIS PROFF! It was my favorite class of the semester. For a 3 hour class, I was never bored and it went by super fast. Almost impossible to fail. Hundreds of extra credit opportunities, one essay/ presentation on a topic of your choosing.. sad that I cant take his class again! Few worksheets, few quizzes all easy. Show up and be respectful.

I took Professor Calabrese for Humanities Summer B, and his class is very interesting and easy. He gives TONS of extra credit, at the end theres a 1500 word paper and visual representation but no need to worry theres plenty of time to do it. Great in class discussions! EASY A

He is a great professor, he made everything so interesting to talk about and his test/ quizzes were easy. He offers tons of extra credit assignments as well. Just show up, do the work and you've got an A, none of his assignments are hard or time consuming. I would 10/10 take his class again.

Overall Dr. Calabrese is an awesome professor. He'll give you four assignments, a couple of quizzes to do at home. Throughout the 2 hours and minutes I spent in each lecture, I was never bored. He also gives a tone of extra credit opportunities to raise your grade.
