very hard teacher, do not take him. grades very hard, marks off points for the smallest and dumbest things. his jokes arent funny and he thinks they are.
I really liked him. Really helpful, lectures are clear, but he grades kind of hard. Just look over his review and you'll do well on his exams. I thought he was pretty entertaining. He kept me awake most of the time because he wanted to get everyone interested in chemistry. I'd definitely take him again :)
He will take off points for the smallest little thing from your homework to your lab. But, he encourages you to go into his office for help in the homework (trust, it really helps). His notes are structured and organized and he really knows what he is talking about. I really liked him as a teacher and would take him again.
He grades his test really picky. Everyweek there is so call "assesment" which are 20 multiple choice questions everyweek quizes. However, he is willing to help his students. but I don't recommand him. high average Cs
TAKE HIM! So much fun! He wants you to participate, and its easy to do; he's funny and the lectures are interesting. His analogies are hilarious. He's always in his office, and willing to help you with anything you might not understand. Weekly quizzes online, so it's not just in-class stuff. Does cool demos. Go out of your way for his class.
Great teacher
He's a good teacher. Chem is not my subject, but he made it not that bad. He is always willing to help when you need it. The class isnt an easy A, but you get what you put in.
I agree with the others, it is not an easy A, but the only way I am getting an A in CHEM 111A is because of this guy. He is an excellent teacher that can does his best to make sure you understand the material and is always there to help. I recommend him.
During the lecture, u will realize how he loves Chemistry !!!! he makes every student to get intereted in Chem, but he looks for very detail on grading, but lecture is really fun and he makes fun on Chemistry REaction and other things....lol
HE is one the best teachers i have ever had, he is funny and uses great examples.
Well,he's just so awesome in everything.Specifically,he's so well-organized,extremely funny and helpful. He goes on the lecture with average pace. Just go to class regularly, concentrate on his lecture and return lab report ontime. You'll definitely get an A.Cos the class is easy itself.Highly recommend!!!.Gud luck, guys ;)
great teacher. go to class everyday and you wont need to read the book. only need book for hw. quizes are virtually same as handouts. DONT FORGET TO STUDY HIS HANDOUTS!!!
Awesome teacher. Fun lectures, easy to get along with. A lot of handouts but he takes the extra time to make sure you understand everything.
good teacher, but not excellent. I think he made chemistry 107 harder than what it should be. Most students felt like he covered the surface of topics & not what was necessary for the test. Definitely would NOT recommend!!!!!
Great teacher. Makes the class as interesting as possible for 7:30 in the morning and is very passionate about the subject. If you have previous experience with chemistry the class is super easy. Lots of handouts and materials to help study from. Definitely recommend taking his class.
The best chemistry teacher I had! He hands out every possible handouts/tools for you to succeed in class. I recommend him for those who want someone very organized.
he is clear about what to expect. If you don't like getting picked on in class then don't take this class. Exam are hard and labs also. Very particular about everything . study guides helpful. You must know your math well for this class. put the 10 hours a week or you wont get the grade you need . understand.
HORRIBLE teacher!!! :( I dropped and retook this class with another professor and I got a B.Honestly, he makes chem 107 way harder than what it should be. I highly advise everyone to take someone else.
Mr. Dadson is a really great teacher, and makes chemistry a lot of fun. He is a bit pretentious and likes to be demeaning, so just expect to be picked on. If you go to all the lectures and labs and understand everything, you will be fine. Don't be lazy and expect to get an easy A.
Great professor! One of the best at Fullerton College. Extremely organized and dedicated to his students. If you actually want to learn, you'll love this class. If you're just looking for an easy class to breeze through, don't take him.
i thought this class was pretty interesting i never took a chemistry class before his and he made it fun for me. he doesn't like students wasting his time, he's a great teacher who wants all his students to actually learn and remember everything. his lecture notes are organized with handouts. he's not an easy teacher though!
If you want a A+ in this class, you have to study your butts off. He grades really hard on quizzes and tests. He makes you want to drop his class if you are getting a C in the class. If you miss two days of his class, he drops you, so watch out.
Best professor I've ever had. So incredibly organized, you always know what he expects from you. Has handouts for everything you could ever need. Very helpful in office hours. Over all just awesome, if you need the chem series, try your best to find your way into his class.
Very cool professor! He's very strict on learning key topics and tests are a bit hard. Does gives study guides and lecture outlines.. Very funny guy and makes Chem. a fun subject. I hated chem. with a passion, but thanks to him passed with a B+ Take him, he's the bees knees and a hotie! lol
Take him! He's so nice, organized and extremely helpful! I wish I could take CHEM111A with him this semester.
Dadson is probably one of the best professors I have ever had. He is very particular about certain things like sig figs and units and whatnot, but in the end they make you extremely prepared for general chem. If you study and do practice problems, you will do fine. If you want to take a class that will prepare you for general chem, take Dadson!
If you're REALLY interested in chemistry like I was he is a great teacher! Funny, energetic and easy to understand. It would be really hard to fall asleep in this class if you had any interest at all. He is difficult though lots of D's and C's and a lot of drops. If you do all the HW, read the book and study for tests you should get an A or B
Mr. Dadson is an amazing teacher. I though Mr. Chan was great until i took Dadson. He is funny and really nice. He is understandable. My major is math but taking him made me second guess myself. He makes chem so fun. I do okay studying and i got a C. Do the hw attend lab and you'll be in good shape. If you want to learn and not be bored take Dadson
Dadson is awesome! He's so nerdy and funny. The class is pretty hard though.
by far the best chem teacher! He's easy to understand and uses real life examples and relates them to chemistry in a funny way. he's extremely organized and he has practice exams which helps a lot. I totally recommend him.
Dadson is the greatest professor that Fullerton has to offer. He took me from zero interest in Chem to pondering a double major in it. His excitement is infectious; he is clear, helpful and hilarious. He's willing to help you always (even after you've left his class). I wish all teachers were Guy Dadson. Totally recommend his class.
coolest teacher ive ever had..funny, keeps claass energetic and alive, the most boring lectures were some of my favorites cuz of how weird he gets to make it exciting..class is somewhat hard if you do not put the time and effort into it..and to top it off, he listens to the grateful dead..righteous
Make sure you do the online homework! It takes a couple hours to do each of them, but it's worth it! He'll pick on you in class if you're late
Amazing, super funny very helpful, and love to teach 107 and it shows.
Puts a lot of energy into instruction. Has a cute sense of humor and good classroom management. Most of the homework is online and tests are from lecture. Teaches smart tricks to learn the material.
Good teacher, really helpful, a little weird. But gives out study guides for the exams.
Really helpful, willing to go out of way to help students.Uses good analogies to explain concepts
The best teacher you could possibly ever have at Fullerton college! he wants you to learn and he will do everything is in his power to help you!
Very helpful in office hours and always welcomes questions even when office hours are over. His tests are not the easiest but he prepares you well.
very helpful and funny. always willing to answer any questions. tries to make students feel comfortable with the material.
His lectures are easy to understand and he gives you lots of tools to practice with but he does assign a lot of homework online.
Good class to take, vary help full
Very hard teacher. Grades very hard, marks off points for the smallest and dumbest things. His jokes aren't funny and insults students.
He's hot! And he makes class fun. One of the nicest and hottest teachers on campus. Must take if you're taking chem 107.
Great Professor. Would highly recommend.
one of the nicest teachers i've had the experience of having. do not get me wrong, he is TOUGH! but seriously, i would take his class if you want to feel like you've learned something when you leave his class. he will make fun of you in class, but don't take it the wrong way because he is one of the most helpful professors i've ever had!
Emphasis on basic math. Book will seem irrelevant. You may get by w/out buying the book at all. His lectures are all you need. Be actively engaged in lectures. Paying attn. during lectures can eliminate additional study time, if you're focused. PPT notes provided. Don't do Labs at the last minute. They are easy and most can be googled. Lectres=key
You can seriously get by without using the textbook. 100% of the material covered in textbook can be found on short youtube videos. From basic measurements and problem solving, to redox reactions.
He makes the course harder than it is. he grades test hard, cuts points for every mistake and ask a lot of explanation questions in the test.
Please don't get me wrong. i loved his lecture, but i have realized the textbook isn't comprehensive enough to prepare students for the entrance of CSUs' placement exam in chemistry. Also, after i transferred to CSU, i could not find anyone who is as funny and picky as he does.
Best Professor for elementary chem hand down! Not to mention he's crystal clear in his lectures and not that bad on the eyes either
Very Good Teacher, He loves the subject and helps you grow to love it too. He preps you for college level Chemistry. Real strict on his grading, but for good reasons. Two words SIG FIGS (significant figures)
Suffice to say… Dadson was born to be a chemistry teacher. He breaks down difficult concepts into ideas that are more easy to understand. His lectures are very structured and tries to make chemistry as fun as possible. He does have expectations for his students but none that a mediocre student like myself couldn't' satisfy.
Professor Dadson is amazing! I underestimated the difficulty of chemistry in the beginning of the semester, and Dadson would give these huge speeches about how if you apply yourself and do the work, you can actually achieve a good grade in his class. Suffice to say that when I actually put in the work I was able to improve my test scores.
took him during the summer over a yr ago best teacher ever!! everything I learned from him help me through chem111B!!
Highly recommended
One of the best professors I've had the privilege of learning from. The only thing I dont like, is that i have nothing bad to say about the teacher who gave me my first B. I didn't apply myself enough to earn the A. so If your looking for an easy A he's not the 1 for U. this man is a grading nazi! Yo Dadson, this chili peppers for u brochacho lol
Hes very picky on his answers! He'll take off points for the smallest things! You need to put time and effort in to this class or you will not be happy with your grade. Four tests, ten quizzes, 15 hwk assignments with extra credit. Lab has two test, four quizes and labs worth 15 points.
I miss Mr. Dadson! He makes chemistry fun, easy and clear. His lectures are a little long, but his personality helps keep you awake. Make sure you get on his good side and participate. He yells a lot, but it's too funny to stand haha. Good Guy! Hope to see him in the near future.
I had never taken chemistry so I didn't know what to expect. Prof. Dadson broke down everything and related it to everyday situations. He grades super hard so it forces you to pay more attention. Overall, I would take his class again except I would read more. If you read the text and do homework/labwork, you will do good. Awesome Professor!
A super cool professor. I took him in Fall. He's a great Guy and funny too. His labs are fun and he does great demos. Highly Recommended. Study the notes and his small study guide, you'll do good.
Tough class, no mercy from the instructor during a brutal summer session. If it is important that you get an A, go over your exams/reports with a fine tooth comb, and make sure the instructor likes you. He makes the class entertaining and fun, but it slows the class down and you have to make up for it in the end. Good luck
Dadson will ruin all other teachers for you because he is so awesome. He's funny and will yell at you, but all in good fun. He's always willing to help and has office hours. He gives study guides for his tests, which is super helpful. You MUST know significant figures! He takes points off if your sig figs are wrong. Take him. You won't regret it.
Dadson is very good professor but sometimes its confusing. He makes it clear that something wasnt going to be on the test and it comes up. It happened twice. It was surprise trick. Also, when testing there are timed. So you dont have full class time. Also, hard at grading things. Its ridicules but that is what it is. Study with friends it will help
Dadson is super chill he's a great teacher and he likes to keep everyone interested. He does make jokes at people's expense but if you're not too sensitive you'll be fine. It's a great class I would definitely take him again
Dadson is a great professor. If you really want an A just make sure to read the book prior to class and show up to class. He likes to put students on the spot sometimes so don't test him. Know your sig figs because he loves taking points off for that. He's pretty attractive and hilarious. Does a fantastic job explaining Chemistry! Highly recommend.
This professor is the best, you get a good laugh out of him through the whole time. Tough grader, just be careful taking the test. He is very nice if you talk to him, so dont be afraid to ask questions. If you dont like chem, at the end of the semester you will understand it. Pretty chill guy, for sure recommend him!

Dadson is a hot tamale! Like a spicy one! Also, his Chem 107 class is well organized with outlines of his lectures and problems to be solved in class. He shares tricks he learned from experience to help students memorize material. Pay attention to those bonuses he calls "the Dadson way" and you will be better off! You can definitely get the A!
I feel so much more prepared for G Chem after just taking his summer course. I still use many if not all of his methods since they really stuck with me. His tests are tough but he is more than willing to work with you. Its impossible to fall asleep in his class because his lectures are simply hillarious. Good times? one FLAMING pepper
Good teacher who really cares about his students. Lots of material and all of it on tests and HW so get ready to read and study. Can move pretty fast sometimes and loves to call out students. it's all fun but it can get a bit old sometimes.
Dadsons the best!! You really have to apply yourself to the class but it's totally worth it. He's really organized and has a great smile.
Professor Dadson is a great teacher. He cares and loves to be asked questions. Go to office hours and he will talk your ear off about everything. He has a passion for chemistry, even if you do not have one at the beginning, you will enjoy the course. The course itself is difficult, Dadson tries to make it fun!
Incredible tutor for Chem 111 B. i took both chem 111A and 111B with him. i would surely recommend to take 111B with him. he is too good for that course. Textbook is required for only online homework that is connect. Online HW takes long. Also take proper notes very important for tests and exams. solve problem solving's and refer lecture handouts.
G-MONEYYYYYY I was a bit hesitant when choosing Mr. Dadson as my chem teacher after reading his grading criteria reviews, but man am I glad i took him! He is definitely passionate about chemistry and his passion and understanding of it allows him to make the subject at hand understandable! His exams aren't scantron based, but found they benefit you
He is not an easy A type of professor. He will make you work for your grade. What makes him a good professor is his ability to present the subject (which he knows very well) in an easy to understand manner while keeping you engaged in class. His humor is acquired, don't be easy to offend, he means no harm. In fact, he cares a lot for the students.
He makes an introductory class much harder than it has to be. His exams are made so the only people that have enough time to finish them are people that know the material well enough to ace the test. His grading is very harsh. He has a cool sense of humor but is terrible for teaching a low level class. I got an A with a different teacher.
A professor who reads negative comments on here and shares it with his students is obviously an unhappy person. Thats here nor there but dont expect him to be approachable. He appears to be someone who was picked on a lot and now that he is in a position to hurt others, he wont hesitate to do so. Id pick a different professor.
Though he is the only professor in the gen chem2 which gives extra credit and allows regrade for the exams and the quizzes, he really can be annoying sometimes. He is a very tough grader on the labs and his exams are way harder than you could imagine. He is really strict and intimidating with his students. I won't take him again.
The class is difficult and he can be difficult. There are a lot of assignments and you have to work incredibly hard. Participate in class! It'll help him get you to know you and he'll give you leeway if you mess up. Use the embedded tutor in the class. They are super useful. You never have enough time on the tests. Need to study so much.
Professor Dadson can be a nice person but I promise he is one rude professor. There were many instances during the semester that he would publicly shame students with no thought for their personal lives or details. He has a history of being excessively hard with the students as well. Don't recommend!!! Beware!!
The Professor is the worst teacher I have taken a course from. He is sarcastic and rude to the class, grades incredibly hard, inconsistent, and gives no feedback even when requested. I have a 4-year degree and am taking this class to satisfy a medical school pre-req. This general course is harder than all my upper level Courses.
Professor Dadsons class was tough as suspected he really makes you work but I learned so much and I am so thankful for all the work he had us do or this semester might not be going as well. Tests are challenging, dry sense of humor, fast email response, lots of office hours, willing to help. Overall learned a ton and would take again.
I've taken many Chemistry courses in my 6 years of being in college and this is by far the best experience I've had. He comes off as strong at first with the teasing and language, but he really does care about the students and is always offering his help. This class IS difficult by default and he can guide you as long as you put in the effort.
he is a bit of a hard grader but pushes you to understand the material. He will call on you during lecture but I personally didn't mind, he's funny and only calls on you so he can help his students understand the topics, honestly I would retake him if I could, does not drop exam or no extra credit, but he rounds up and that boost your grade so much
I don't understand the bad ratings. This professor is amazing! He's clear, gives plenty of time for post labs, and makes learning easy. Open-note midterms and no ACS finals are a big plus. He's funny and engaging, not picking on you. Review at home, and you'll be an A student. Highly recommend!
Had Guy for problem solving and was hilarious, much better than my other professor. As long as you put in just a little effort you'll do fine. Make sure to pay attention bc he calls on ppl to participate and will jokingly humiliate you if you are clueless. Super fun class and out of pocket humot.
If you want to learn chemistry, I highly recommend prof. Dadson. He makes challenging material easy to understand, he's hilarious. His demos are fun. Goes over problems and “engages” with students during class. I would definitely recommend taking his class if you can!
I can't express enough gratitude for Professor Dadson. I truly wish he had taught me all my chemistry classes. He is the definition of a favorite professor, friendly, caring, and always willing to go out of his way to help students understand chemistry. But be prepared to put in the work to succeed.
I'm now a medical student and met Guy back in intro to gen chem. I remember specifically choosing him as my chem teacher since people were saying he was a tough grader. What better way to learn that by someone that pushes you intellectually. Well, Guy really dumbs complex topics down and makes them enjoyable. Thank you!!!!!
Easily one of my fav profs, he acts like an ass but really cares about helping you succeed in his class. He dumbs down concepts really well and is always willing to take time to explain problems to you when asking him for help, I never felt judged by him even when asking really stupid questions lol
I'm genuinely forever grateful for Professor dadson, even though I finished his class a while ago, I still find myself using his Fullerton College website and slides they've continued to help me so much!! He's one of those professors you never forget.
I took prof Dadson twice because I got a D the first time around. He is a tough grader, but his material ensures that you WILL succeed in your future STEM classes. Some say he is tough, but this is the kind of professor you need if you are serious about being a scientist/engineer. Guy will always be an inspiration to me and I'm forever grateful
One of the harder STEM classes, but Dr. Dadson is clear with expectations,it's up to you to meet the requirements. This class requires a lot of time put in, but he's generous with curves and is very open to questions, he genuinely wants you to succeed. The exams are brutal, grades are updated only after every exam. Get a religion before attempting...
Common complaint is that he's a very tough grader– true, watch out. But he ultimately curves generously and an 85% is actually the cutoff for an A in his class. Problem solvings are representative of lecture exams & expectations are clearly communicated. Great about answering questions. Recordings of all lectures are available online to revisit.
