He is the professor for students who don't like math or understand it. He explains everything clearly and doesn't skip one step in the process of explaining a problem. He relates well to the students and is very funny. I wish he taught more math courses!
He was such an awesome professor. He explained everything that I had trouble with in Algebra in a clear and understandable way. He even slows down for you if he goes too fast. Highly reccommended if youre having trouble with Algebra!

smartest teacher in math department
Really awesome. Goes as slowly as he needs to, and will help you understand WHY something works the way it does. Really helped me understand Algebra for the first time.
he sucks
He's a great teacher, it''s just his tests that are a hassle. Sweet man though.
He is a great teacher as he explain everything and make my concept very clear. And he is funny and always ask questions with no one answering it. I wish he can teach calculus 2 class !!!!
HE IS THE WORST PROFESSOR YOU COULD EVER TAKE FOR MATH!!!!!!!
He is OKAY!
I think he is an excellent teacher. You definitely need to pay attention. He will give you extra help if you need it. He makes time for you even if the rest of the class understands and is ready to move on to the next topic. I also wish he would teach calc II but he doesn't. Don't be afraid to ask questions it doesn't bother him. He likes it.
I'm currently in his evening class and learning alot. I would highly recommend Prof Reynolds to anybody.
Clearly, this is one of the best math professors at MCC. Indeed, he will help you in anyway to succeed. Also, he will stop and clarify a concept you have difficulty grasping. More importantly, he makes the class enjoyable by making some hilarious jokes, and less stressful. Highly recommended
do not take him unless you are very good at math, he is very confusing, usually confuses everybody in his class, i have no idea what he is talking about most of the time, i have studied for both tests and went for extra help and have not scored higher then a 60
To the person from Math 129B - Get a life - Professor Reynolds is clearly one of the best math teachers at MCC. If you opened your book, study and completed all your homework, plus work the other math problems maybe you would have done better on your tests. IF you wanted a better grade maybe you should have study harder.
Really awesome teache, very smart.
The final exam isn't even culmulative. As a matter of fact, he puts the new-learned material in the final exam, which I think is not wise, because there is no way that a student can grasp the concepts of that material in just one or two weeks. Take professor Miniere, he does final exam review. Reynolds does not.
I had im for Calc 2. he really didn't seem like he knew what he was doing. alls he did were the examples from the chapter and many times he'd mess up and take 3 or 4 times to remember how to do something. he's a nice guy.... probably better at teaching algebra and that kind of stuff
He is really a great professor. I took him last semester as my calc. professor. And I got 'A' in his class. He is very easy professor to work with. He is simply the best.
Explains everything!! The tests are actually fun!
He is the best Math teacher in MCC. I would take him again and again for every Math class that excites in MCC. This guy is so cool and so understanding. As for others saying he is tough and all, no he is not. You need to do your homework and be on top of everything to pass his class. Lazy students not allowed in his class!
Guy is awesome - he has an amazing ability to break down complex problems and theorems into workable pieces. He is a great teacher and devotes a lot of extra time to his students - certainly a professor who wants his students to succeed.
THE BEST TEACHER EVER. HE IS VERY CLEAR AND HELPFUL.DO YOUR HOMEWORK BECAUSE IT DOES HELP A LOT. HIS TESTS ARE MULTIPLE CHOICE. HOW COOL IS THAT. I LOVE HIM. THE BESSSSSSSSSST!!!!!!!
very hard..tests are horrible.
Great Teacher! He really seems to care about students, he explained his lessons very well. What I especially liked was that he didn't make you feel stupid if you didn't know the answers he explained it. Middlesex needs more teachers like Guy who have a vested interest in the students succeeding.
the tests are absolutely horrible!!!! every test i just wanted to walk out. multiple choice my ass. math was my favorite subject coming out of high school and now i hate it, because of this man. i feel like he's speaking another language. if you like math..... SAVE YOURSELF!!!!
good teacher, very funny. KNOWS how to teach math and enjoys doing it. i would recommend him to anyone. explains things very clearly. i would take him again.
while this man obviously is some sort of math genius, he is not great at teaching math for beginners. i had him for alegbra 1 and he has no pity for people who don't understand math as good as him, which was obviously everyone in the algebra 1 class. i'm pretty sure NO ONE got higher than a C. he needs to relax a little bit :]
hes the best teacher ever!! let me tell you if you dont pass his class then i have no clue whats wrong with you. you just didnt pay any attention or didnt even do the work. hes awsome..hes very helpful..his test are very easy. his test comes from the review he gives you from the last class..take him..hes awsome!
Do yourself a favor, don't take him. I have had him for calculus 2 and the class was so hard and almost impossible. I had an A in his class but i have been taking math since i was 5 years old. You have to be super super smart, not only that, you have to work super super hard to pass. to prove it, the class started with 28 students, ended with 11.
Please, don't take him and save your time and mind.
easy to understand. Always helpful.
good teacher but you would need not mess with him because he will make fun of you in front of everybody.
THIS IS THE WORST TEACHER OF EVER. PLEASE DON'T TAKE HIM. HE REALLY HAD A BAD ACTITUD, MAKES FUN OF EVERYBODY EVEN WHEN YOU ASK QUESTIONS FOR HIM EVERYTHING IS STUPID. NO HELPFUL. I THINK HE NEVER WENT TO SCHOOL TO LEARN HOW TO BE A GOOD TEACHER. HE MAY KNOW ABOUT THE SUBJECT, BUT DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO TALK TO THE STUDENTS. NEVER TAKE THIS TEACHER.
GREAT PROFESSOR, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM FOR MATH! He is a very wonderful professor, very considerate and explains things very well. He doesn't mind when people ask him "stupid questions," he will still answer them. He is willing to help you during his office hours as well. Thanks to him I understand math for the first time.
Never take this professor. I believe he lives in another planet. He thinks he is the Super Teacher, but no he really sucks. Here is a typical phase "if you don't know how to do this problem, don't waste your time, go to my office and I give you a D or F for the semester" what???. Worst teacher in the world.Don't take him.
Horrible professor, worries more about chatting and being one of the students than actually teaching. He cannot teach either, he's hard to understand, he confuses you and seems to live in another world most of the time. Don't even bother with this professor, he'll just waste your time. (Oh, and don't ask for help from this guy, seriously)
Professor Reynolds knows math very well but he is a horrible teacher. He is over demanding. I think he is one of those teachers that is out to fail students to help increase profits for the school.
He is the best teacher I've ever had.He cares about teaching his students. He gives you a review before each test, that is very helpful.I really liked beeing in his class.Math is his stuff,he knows how to explain it.Guy is the best!!!!
It's simple. If you aren't good in math, do not take him.He will make you feel discouraged and you're just going to want to drop.
HE IS THE ABSOLUTE WORSE TEACHER!!! i learned absolutely NOTHING in this class. everything i learned was from the internet. i just daydreamed while he joked & made analogies on redundant things. hes not even funny. his class is TRULY a waste of time and money. no joke. dont take him without an outside source to help you pass! you've been warned.
He was a really good professor. I hate and suck at math but yet i still passed with a B. He would give you a practice test before the actually test and it would be kinda similar.
I took part A of this class with Guy, and finally "got" Algebra, so it was a natural instinct to take part B with him. While I did have some personal family issues during the semester, the made sure that I gained an understanding of the material that I missed while attending to a sick family member. Thnaks yet again Prof. Reynolds! Jazzman
i had him for precalc. i showed up in class SOMETIMES. and i got a b in his class. just do shi review sheets and u shud be good. tries to be funny. but really understanding. he knows his stuff. take him. it wont be bad.
This professor is the man. His explanations are the best I've seen from a math teacher. His test reviews are all-encompassing and excellent prep work. He definitely knows his stuff and enjoys teaching. Full recommendation.
OMG! He is hands down the best teacher in MCC. He is really nice and endeavors to make the students enjoy class. I am surprised to see that people find him tough or rude. He's been very nice in our class and nobody has a complaint against him. I feel like failing his class just to be around him forever.
wayyyy too fast! just when i think i'm getting something, he moves on to the next. homework's not mandatory, barely uses the book. too many quizzes! i find myself confused after his class & have to teach myself everything!
this is the best professor you will every be lucky enough to have. before him, i never got more than a c in math. He does not go too fast, in fact for my class we only had to memorize three main chapters throughout the entire semester. You have to be a jerk to fail his class. Awesome guy to listen to, seems like a cool person in general.
best math teacher ive ever had! explains everything and teaches in a way that helps you to understand the material. as long as you are paying attention he'll make the course so easy for you!
Wonderful Math Professor take his class you won't regret it. He is funny and has this amazing talent to help you learn Math and believe me I am terrible at it.
I took Guy for 013a after dropping 013 the semester before. He made Alegebra so easy that I took him for 013b. I don't know how anyone can give Guy a bad review. He was always willing to help everyone during class as well as after class. He is the most dedicated teacher I have ever met. I am planning on taking all of my math courses with him.
He is the man. A great teacher. I really like him. I suggest people to take him. Awesome guy
I took Guy my first year of college and he is absolutely terrible. He cannot explain anything in precalc, he is too broad and when asked a question he gives a smug response as if we were to know already. I would avoid taking his class as if he were the plague.
I don't know how anyone could give this guy a bad rating! I'm 2 weeks into his 013 course and he's absolutely amazing. He's funny and connects with the students in a way that you can actually learn math. Trust me, I'm horrible at math!
Good teacher very well versed in the material loves to have a good time and teach at the same time. Stick the class out trust me he doesn't want to fail anyone and is more then gracious with final grades.
Took this professor over the summer and absolutely loved it! He is very helpful if you need help, and he teaches math in such a way that a 3 year old can understand it. He breaks down each problem step by step. Take him if u can. I promise u can not fail! I'm horrible at math and even i passed.
He was the man! The only people he insulted in the class were those who did not show any effort and made no attempt to pass. Towards the final those same people were upset because they still felt entitled to pass. He could make class entertaining.
If this is your first time taking Calculus, save your sanity and take someone else (Prof. Edward Bransdorf). This is my second time taking Calculus. I passed the first time, but felt I needed more of a solid understanding before moving on to Calc 2. I know what I'm doing and yet.. I'm not doing well... BS..
Professor Reynolds makes math enjoyable, and easy to learn for those who are not confident in the subject. He is direct in his teachings, and eager and willing to help those who need it. I would certainly take this professor a second time!
Great professor to take if you have an idea about calculus or if you need to refresh. Excellent in explaining problems. I pass his summer class without book and with flying colors.
End of semester review: He's a brilliant man, but not someone I would recomend for first time Calculus students. If you KNOW what you're doing or have a fairly decent understanding of calculus, then by all means, take him.
BEST MATH PROF!!!!! I Took him for Math 013B Trust me take it from me i HATE math and i did WELL in his class. You do homework that he does not check but it's important because you can then ask questions about those problems in class which will later be on the quiz and Test. If you work and have a tight schedule he is the perfect prof to take!!!!
I felt that Prof Reynolds really cares about his students and he keeps the class entertaining. Anyone who would be offended by this man must have shoes that are too tight or started with an attitude I would take him again anytime. PS Math is NOT my best subject but he is approachable and really goes out of his way to help you get it. MAT-013
You should take his class... he is helpful and funny. i enjoyed takin his class. great fun
i took him in the summer for calculus and i regret it taking him. Everybody ended up dropping the class or failing. He said he still gets pay the same if only one passes or nobody. If you can avoid him please do so. He knows his material really well but does not know how to teach. Tests are really hard and he doesnt try to help you out.
He is an extremely amzing professor! He's approachable and is willing to help you with what ever you need help with.
Prof.Reynolds is active and friendly as well.He has very good sense of humor. I liked his way of teaching and grading. We can also learn vocabulary from him.
Professor Reynolds is a great professor and will help you with anything. But don't expect to class by just showing up: he does make you work...hard.He tends to be tough on students he likes and thinks has great potential. If you have an option, take him! He's helpful and funny and his tests are okay if you study.
He is down to earth. He is very helpful and diligent professor.
Such a good prof. he is so clear on the material and is always willing to help you when your lost! attendence is a must and you must do your homework! his tests are fair too!! i'd def take him!
He is a very nice prof who give only 3 test and final exam everything is multiple choice also he provides the review sheet. There is homework but he doesn't check except review them if you have any questions. His quizzes are all online and you get 3 attempts on them. No projects! Definitely take him he is very easy going and funny.
Great teacher.....very clear and fair with grading
Very easygoing professor. Knows the subject like the back of his hand. He gave us a takehome test and always reviews for tests. For all who fail him it's most likely because they are not good students. Study BEFORE you go into class so you can follow along and you will succeed. I got over a 105 final grade which goes to show how much he tries to help his students by offering extra credit.
Fantastic teacher! He is there to help you and will go out of his way to make sure you pass his class! Best teacher i ever had so far!
awesome professor! super interesting and great teaching. super nice too!!! i took precalulous from him, it was a hard cours for me but i did good and had fun!
hes a very smart man, he seems to know a little bit about everything. he is animated at times which makes the lesson a lot more enjoyable however, i was ripped apart by him for asking a "dumb" question which caused me to be reluctant to ask anymore all semester. hes good though. stern but fair.
He explained everything thoroughly, gave a few tests and quizzes (and reviews for all of them)some of which were take-home, offered extra credit, answered any and all questions, etc. He never turned anyone down in my class and was personable. He also has a sense of humor and is a cool guy. I'm excited to take him again for Precalculus!
Absolutely worth taking a morning class with him. He is very very funny. Able to explains problems that you don't get clearly. Offers extra credit and take home quizzes. He gives you a sheet that explains what will be on each test. Overall I would recommend.
He is a great professor and teaches you everything you need to know. He puts notes on campus cruiser for you to print out and bring to class. You barely need the textbook, only for homework. He gives study guides that are the same as the test just with problems changed. I recommend him as a professor bc he teaches and jokes around at the sane time.
I didnt like him. Very rude. Knows what hes taking about but assumes so does everyone else. will insult your intelligence if you ask a question. does not grade homework but gives review sheets. if you do the review you will do fine. still, i didnt like his personality. i would say take if you are decent at math and dont mind not asking questions.
He is very good and explains every thing. you dont need book at all. JUST DO REVIEW SHEET AND YOU GOOD TO GO
Professor Reynolds is a good man. He is jolly, caring, intelligent, and interested in the students who study and participate. However he is a little conceited. Overall he wants all the students to pass and succeed. He is by far one of the most interesting and best professors at MCC. Take him if you do not want a big challenge but want to learn.
best teacher! will explain anything as many times as needed in as many ways possible. very animated and a really intelligent and sweet guy. extremely easy course, reviews and take home tests, and EVERYTHING is multiple choice, with no tricks. easy-going about attendance as long as you seem to know what youre doing in class.
Super cool guy. Hes a bit of an odd ball but what math professor isn't. He made precalc an interesting topic even though I had taken it once before but I wouldn't suggest him for those who struggle with math because he does move a bit quickly.
I personally could not learn from this man. I spent my time trying to learn from online videos than him. He explains things very quickly and is willing to put you on the spotlight if you ask a "stupid" question or give him a funny answer. If you can understand him, good for you. I've had better professors than this guy.
Where do i begin... he was OK but hard to follow sometimes. he walks around during exams to watch you work and will say something if you make a mistake. exams were considered easy but you really REALLY have to practice!! he gives out xtra credit problems sometimes. he gives worksheets on the lessons you will do that day. Srsly PRACTICE...
Before the semester started guy gave his students EVERY SINGLE LESSON PLAN. this helped because could print them out before the class and do them when he gives the notes. he doesn't care if you go to class as long as you get good results on tests. He explains how everything you learn is related to the teachings from when we were in 1st grade.
Honestly, Guy's not too bad. If you show up to class and do the homework, the class is a cakewalk. He can be a bit snide at times, though, which a bunch of my classmates didn't care for.
Honestly, Guy's not too bad. If you show up to class and do the homework, the class is a cakewalk. He can be a bit snide at times, though, which a bunch of my classmates didn't like all that much.
I felt this professor got his material across, but very quickly. I felt he didn't explain the material to the best of his ability, and came off confusing at times. I'm normally very good in math but when I took this course I seemed to struggle. The study guides sucked and weren't clear. If your not good at math, I would not recommend him.
There is disparity between educator and intelligence. Guy knows his subject but is a mediocre educator. Flies through material so fast you'll leave lectures even more confused than before. He is hardly ever available outside classroom hours to clarify his absurd lectures. Extremely outspoken and attempts at humor are pathetic. Avoid
well first off he will never know your name you just walk in and sit down won't even care about you, loves to teach in his own ways that are from the 60"s , will never clarify any of his work and if you email him about homework he will tell you look it up worst professor every don't waste your money guys, like to make noises and go off topic alot.
Knows the subject , but does not teach well ! He expects you to know everything and if you have a question that he thinks is stupid , he'll put you on the spot and embarrass you. He's very fast paced most of what I learned was at home on my own time
Calculus is not easy He does warn you at the beginning of the semester about practicing and doing your homework I think he is fair game His test are straight up from the homework online and he does tell you that His teaching is clear If you actually want to learn take him Very straight forward tests 50p homework 20p and final 30p of grade
Guys, very simple.... This guys flies through the lecture, he assumes you know what he knows (he is a Math Major) . Do not take it with him, unless you have previously taken this class. Avoid if you can.
He's a good person, but the only thing I got really annoyed was the way he made noises. Coming and sitting at the desk, raising his hand and saying "pick me", is kind of childish. He taught well, but it felt as if like we were in elementary school. He needs to stop making noises and mocking other people.
Prof Reynolds knows the subject but doesn't know how to teach it. I went to tutoring 2-3 times a week and am pretty good in math A's before this class and had some issues with the assignments. Asked him for help after class and he would state "you can't ask that question" and would not answer questions. Expects you to know the math. Don't bother
Tests are easy... From hw
The tests are easy and are pretty much exact replicas of the problems done in class, no surprises here. Doing the homework is essential to passing and a lot of the homework problems are on the test too. Pretty funny guy, enjoyed my time in his class.
He is a really good professor he always understands his students. He is not there to fail you he is a very fair professor he will give you the grade you deserve . He tries to make you to solve your own questions that you ask him to help you with just to make you more open minded and see the key for the solution on your own help you if you didnt
Professor Reynolds is an amazing teacher. He breaks things down and explains the material very eleagantly. His review questions are identical to those on the quizes, and he really tries his best. People who say he is even remotely hard are innaccurate, and for people who knocked his teaching method, it is actually extremely effective.
do NOT take a class in the morning or after you have lunc becaus you will fall asleep. he speaks very monotone. he also likes to think hes funny how ever he is not at all. He assigns homework that due on the last day, if you procrastinate this is not for you. I didn't understand his teaching method so i went to tutoring. i ended up dropping
Professor Reynolds teaching may be different, but it is very effective. If you do not keep up with the online homework that he assigns from the first day of class, you will not pass the class. He uses MANY of the homework problems and puts them on tests. He is very happy to answer questions, but make sure they are good ones!
This was my 2nd time taking calc 1, so when guy spoke in his math lingo I understood him very clearly. It was a saturday class which the 4 hour lectures were hard to go thru. There were only 2 tests and a final but a lot of my math lab hw. When it comes to definitions on tests write exactly what he gave you in the notes or he'll mark it wrong
As someone who has sat through many classes to learn how to be an effective teacher and future educator, I have been able to compare Professor Reynolds teaching methods to what I learned. He is not an effective teacher at all, goes off on tangents, and doesnt help his students. He would embarrass a confused student in front of the whole class.
I took him for a summer class and I wasn't disappointed. It's pretty clear what he wants you to do and he even uses past student examples as what not to do. He also focuses on showing you the picture behind the math you are doing which was a huge help for me. Definitely recommend for anyone who is not good in math like I am.
I took Prof. Reynolds for 129A during the Summer. He is very clear, his lectures are formatted following a note sheet which keeps you on task. He goes through topics using lots of pics, and explanations. Sometimes he goes of on tangents but nothing out of the ordinary. I never once witnessed him put anyone down in class and he is very encouraging.
The notes for his lectures are online so you'll be okay to skip if you need to. He goes off on tangents so much and it gets a little ridiculous sometimes. he's nice however and does help if you ask. You only have three tests for the semester though so you really have to do well on them to get a good grade
If you are not strong at math, like myself, i would not recommend. He makes things somewhat understandable, but the tests are EXTREMELY difficult and they are comprised of so many topics. I passed MAT-14 with a B+ but this class, is horrible if your not as fast as him. No one in class asks questions because he will embarrass you. Only 3 tests too.
LOT OF HOMEWORK
I loved having prof. Reynolds. He made the class fun and kept me focused on the task at hand. During the semester I had a family emergency and he was understanding of the situation. If you're having difficulty in class, its easy to make time to sit down with him if need be. I loved his class and I would love to take another class with him.
he'll help if you need it, but math is hard
His grading is based off of 80% Test and 20% HW so if your not a good test taker avoid. extremely difficult tests.
Terrible!! doesn't care about students or your success. Avoid taking Him!
He does know what he's talking about, but doesn't know how to teach it. He disregards certain questions, and kind of doesn't care about what his students say. Not a good teacher if you struggle with math
If you are going into a Liberal Arts major and you are not very good at math, THEN SAVE YOURSELF NOW AND DO NOT TAKE HIM! I am telling you, Guy is the WORST, most uncaring, conceded professor at middlesex. I retook this class with another professor and passed with an A, while this guy was making things crazy difficult and failing 80% of the class!
He's a cornball, but he's not a bad teacher. He's more worried about you understanding the process rather than hard ass equations, resulting in east tests and quizzes as long as you know the basics
Won't understand a thing in his class gives sooo much hw and always talks about his life. Never learned anything.
He is really not that bad of a professor. He makes corny jokes here and there. He talks a lot too so it makes the class boring but honestly if you understand the material and study the review sheets he gives you then it's an easy A.
He is a great teacher. I thought I would be desperate in maths forever, but things changed when I took his class. By the way, you must spend more time reviewing what you learned so that you could do well, and so is for other courses.
He is awesome!
Grade is showing us how well we have learnt. It helps us to look for our weakness to improve. The more efforts we try, the better result we will have. The attitude towards study is very important.
His class is awesome!!! I enjoy it!!!
I promise you this class is so damn difficult. This guy knows what he is doing, but can't explain it well. He also refers back to Algebra lot, and if you don't know a
Wow, he is such a wonderful professor!!!
Took one of his classes MAT014 this semester during the morning but his humor definitely helps you to stay awake. This class is not that hard but requires you to review the work and participate in class to help you understand if you struggle with math. He helps when you ask him questions, so don't be afraid to ask when you need help.
He is a very excellent professor. He is very clear in both his grading and lecture giving. He is definitely a great professor.
I hope he could teach MAT-131. I like his lectures. This professor really gives you help whenever you need it in your study. He is very inspirational. He uses his own way to encourage you. He is intelligent, hardworking , with integrity, a right professor for you to learn from, especially if you want to have a solid foundation in mathematics.
A very good professor! Choose him at MCC, you will never regret!!! He seems very humorous to you feel learning mathematics is fun, is because he has done a lot of preparation behind it. If you can see his effort, you are a good student.
A wonderful professor! Can you imagine there is a teacher who lets you feel that learning mathematics is so easy? ^-^ He is great to the power of googol to the power of googol...
His teaching method is very straight-forward. If he can let you understand the theorem in one minute, he will not use two minutes. That is why you can learn mathematics very efficiently in his class. Moreover, this professor treats maths as a subject of art, so that you can easily feel clear both theoretically and visually.
Professor Reynolds is quite an up-to-date teacher. If you go to listen to his lecture, you will feel he saves you a lot of time by his prepared lecture, simple to the key point and not showy. All the lectures would be sent to you at the beginning of each semester. He is very responsible. Actually, his standard of teaching is really rare to see.
good professor
I saw a lot of mixed reviews on Reynolds so taking him was gonna be a hit or miss. He was definitely a hit 100%. Ive always been bad at math but passed his class with a A-. He assigns hw but doesnt check it and attendance isnt mandatory. Hes very corny and definitely keeps you up at a 9 am class. You definitely wont regret taking him.
He is very excellent and fair to everybody in his class. You can always see your output whenever you give some input. This professor does know how to teach you well and wake you up whenever you need to.
Some find Professor Reynolds obnoxious but I found it beneficial not only because I find him funny but his sense of humor in his teaching resonated on how to do calculus.
He (as a lot of people on here say) is a cornball, but he is a great teacher to take for any math course. He helps you if you need it but on the day of any of his tests dont ask him questions. Hes a great guy who wants you to succeed. TAKE HIM if you have the chance!
I'm an A student and spent 4 hours every day working on mystatlab and only got a C. He may be good for Calc, not so much for Stats.
He gives every lecture of each chapter and assigns project work for the students. To learn statistics in his class is such a great fun. Pay attention to what you learn and you will get the points. If you enjoy his class and work hard, you will have a very good grade. I am wondering why students get C in statistics.
He was a good professor
He's extremely nice, talks WAY TOO much, rambles on and on about anything and everything. He does not use the book, My Open Math is the online book he uses. No homework just assignments every two weeks online. Quizzes every two weeks, a test occasionally, he's very open if you have any questions. But again, he talks a lot...
He is good man at heart, but he talks way too much and doesnt teach the material very well. The tests are pretty diffucult and he isn't very good with extra help. He is open to help
A very good professor for you, if you really want to learn maths well! He is the one who really can improve your understanding of mathematics.
His class consisted of reading directly from the PowerPoints and personal stories that were irrelevant to what we were learning. All of the notes are online and are easy to understand without his help. You need the textbook for homework. Tests are easy as long as you study.
I cannot find too many good words to describe him. He is so great!!! Super intelligent. If somebody cannot learn math well in his class, I really suggest you check your problems in studying first. Attitude is the first priority! This professor has a good one. As a student, you must be excellent.
He is the most humorous professor I ever met. I like to be in his class so much! Professor Reynolds is very amiable and responsible. You will be guided step by step to Rome of mathematics. It is like getting awards that I have such a teacher. He can do well in whatever he chooses.
You will see the sunshine in mathematics in his class!!! Very grateful to learn math from him!!! He is incredibly great!!!
Hes a good man but he constantly talks about his irrelevant stories of the past and the class lecture material is harder than the exams. His way of teaching can be very confusing and he'll look down on you if you dont understand. Uses powerpoint religiously. Final was killer. you need to self teach but can ask questions. Put in work.
Reynolds is not a good teacher. He assigns an extreme amount of homework. Looks down on student questions and is quick to berate students for their questions. He will passive-aggressively berate students in class without naming them. Hard to endure this class. He will give you false hope in terms of grading that amounts to nothing. Don't take him.
Prof guy is a great guy,he explained everything, and went through many details, did a ton of practice questions every class, gave us many good homeworks Offerd lots of extra credit for tests, and gave us a very good test review before all tests Tests are fair, but final was hard He is willing to spend a lot of time helping. u will learn more than math.
My dude assigns homework problems that weve never discussed in class, expects students to know things, extends the assignments multiple times bc students r too busy worrying about hw instead of learning the overall concept. His classroom etiquette and teaching style is meh. During lecture, he always goes off on a tangent and doesnt teach.
Good teacher
Professor Reynolds is a very good math professor. He explains hard concepts really well and will take his time in class to make sure students understand. Show up to each class, do homework, pay attention to the reviews and you will be able to get an A. He is good at answering your questions in class and re-explaining difficult concepts.
TOOK FOR DISCRETE MATH (MAT-206) He was very lecture heavy and everything that was on the exams was what he taught in class and assigned for HW. Gives HW occasionally, and usually doesn't accept them late. He's a very chill professor trying to crack jokes about his young self. Like all math classes for me at least, they're hard so you have to study
Probably one of the most mediocre professors I have ever taken. He goes off topic a lot, starts talking about his life and thinks hes funny. If you try to ask a question he makes fun of you for it. Took a different professor and got an A. Wouldnt recommend him.
Great professor, goes off-topic a lot of times but always ready to help. Typical sem- 2 Tests, 2 Project, and 1 Final. OpenMath hw due at the end of sem. All you have to do: go home and review once what he taught in class. Trust me, you might feel low in the begging of the sem but don't opt-out, it's going to be fine for sure, take Chegg subscrip.
Because of covid, the first half of the semester was in person, but the second half was through video lectures and online tests. Through both, he helped us all so much. Any time I needed extra help or if you ask him to slow down, he is really patient (most of the time). He is very personable and very knowledgable.
Took him 2 summers in a row one for stats and this summer I took him for precalc, hes really good and understanding
Professor Reynolds was super inspiring to pay attention to when learning calculus, he is very knowledgeable in the subject and had shared some interesting personal stories that would help him relate to the students. The subject was not easy to understand but his tests were VERY similar to the homework.
He was a nice guy very funny. But his lectures were super hard to follow. That was a tough semester for me anyway so I can't entirely blame him but I failed and the next time I took precalc I got an A. So I think that says something.
First encounter he was telling a story about making a student cry and the whole class laughing which was unsettling. He believes in stupid questions, and seemingly tries to make it harder for students learning online. weird. don't recommend.
Professor Reynolds was I great professor. I took his online internet course for statistics and as long as you do the work you should do well in his class. Attending his office hours also helps a lot. He is interested in your success as long as you are interested and apply yourself. Overall, he is a great professor and I would 100% take him again!
He made us take tests between 12am and 5pm on weekdays, so if you work or have other responsibilities he will purposely make it harder. Also doesn't allow you to email work, you must scan it in with cam scanner. On top of the ridiculous rules he makes up, he is also just a rude person. The worst professor in the school hands down.
He's not a bad professor. We teach ourselves through an online textbook. Each chapter is 3 pages max and we're given tests every 4 weeks, along with weekly homework assignments due the day before the test. He gives us optional mock tests for +5 points and reviews. Homework is 40% and you're shown examples on how to solve each question. Overall fine
he is the worst professor I have ever had my grades were A until the final he gave me a 0% because he thought I cheated which I never did. dropped me to C- in all my classes I had an A and I was about to get 4 in my GBA then it dropped to 2.5 don't take him if you want a good grade and a good GBA he is the worstttttttttttttt
Professor Reynolds is a great teacher. Took him as an online course. Hw was on MyOpenMath and you are given 99 attempts on each question. He also gives videos to help answer questions. Exams are 2h and 10min and you must upload work. Must write in the discussion board for points. He gives extra credit. Overall great course and a great professor!
He likes to read through the slide literally and expects students to understand, humorous but EQ to be with others could be higher. Please always talk good behind students because there may be a reason for them not performing well, including the way of teaching. A good student can mirror a great teacher and vice versa.
Lectures tended to be long, but he was friendly and did his best over zoom. The course material was tough so the exams reflected that, but they weren't excessive. If you study and do the work you'll be fine
Showing up to his lectures and genuinely paying attention and writing notes is key to passing his class. He does not grade on attendance, and participation is optional. (Great thing about Guy is he doesn't favor those who actively participate). If you understand the material, homework is a breeze. Tests are generally easier than the homework.
Professor offers online office hours which are very helpful especially for a remote courses.
Very nice, energetic, funny, and a cool guy to be around. The homework and exams were very straightforward. Accessible outside of class too.
Prof Guy was a great teacher, he made sure every student understood what he taught. He was also very hilarious and dramatic. His quizzes weren't hard, so far as you understand what he teaches. He gave homework. Generally his class was fantastic and I'd love to take it again.
didn't like him at first, but once you get used to his sense of humor he grows on you. Attendance isn't mandatory but necessary to pass. do the homework! he copies the homework questions onto the tests and allows a sheet of notes. lectures are good as long as you pay attention. at first it seems like he picks on people but he wants you to succeed.
Guy Reynolds was a bit quirky, but his class grew on me. Attendance is key - his lectures, though lengthy, help you grasp the tough material. Homework and tests are doable if you stay on top of it. Unstuckstudy was a lifesaver for exam prep.
He's a very smart professor since he went to school at Stanford. But I wouldn't take him for certain classes. Our first midterm the class had a median score of 27.3. He has good reviews but maybe I just stumbled upon the wrong class for this semester. This is most def nothing to say about him, take him if you want to he's a very chill person.
Avoid him, finals are in person. He loves to see stuff, but doesn't help. Never allow yourself to see him during office hours. The worst His tests are a joke. Online class conducted like an in-person class
I took his class 10 years ago. I didn't realize I never gave him a review. He is very lecture heavy and gave a lot of exams and homework. Made me more confused. When I asked him questions, he got annoyed and doesn't help. I hated when he would sit down and mock students from previous classes. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS UNLESS YOU WANT TO FAIL!!
