I liked this class a lot. It is easy to pass the tests as long as you do your homework. Professor Yount is such a funny lady, too, and really kept our class on it's toes. It's not a class for slackers, but anyone whose willing to study will have a good time.

She may be a little crazy. She likes to start class with a little conversation, in which she tells you some very strange details. Either she's lying, or she has the most amazing, disturbing, and entertaining family I've ever heard of. Whatever. The **** does NOT tweak. She just knows how to teach Spanish. Wonderful teacher, who truely cares for her students...Makes sure everyone is one the same page. Although it is no cake walk by any means, if your willing to work hard and participate in class you should have no trouble.

I took her Spa 1 hybrid class in fall and, long story short, she is probably the very best professor at RCC. Definitely the best I have taken. Oddly though, she comes off a little harsh on the first day of class, but don't let her fool you, she is really a sweetheart.

Professor Yount is a great teacher. I learned alot. she is very entertaining, and yes pretty crazy at times. You DO use ur books, so dont forget it, or else you will have to make copies of the pages needed for that class period. If you work hard and ask her for help before you fall behind you should do fine! DON'T FALL BEHIND ON YOUR LAB HOURS!

You HAVE to bring your textbook/outline to class everyday, or else she'll send you to the language lab to get copies. If you work, and go to class, you'll get a good grade. She is a very good teacher. Quizzes are only 30 questions and she gives you 2 chances for each, even the final. It is a language class so be prepared to work. Gives you multiple chances for everything. Half the class is in English and the other half is in Spanish. At first that sounds intimidating but she's easy to understand. All around good

An amazing professor. Had a blast in her class but you need to give a 100% from the start . Class is easy. Not many extra credit points. FOLLOW THE LAB ATTENTANCE RULES. GO EVERY WEEK FOR 1 hour 15 minutes. No way around it!!!

I really enjoyed her class. She made learning a foreign language not so intimidating! She's very helpful, and all the language learning techniques I learned in her class will hopefully carry on into my attempt at taking french again. I have to admit, if you do not have some previous Spanish experience, her class can seem intimidating, but she's extremely nice and funny! I can't help laughing in her class. Very intelligent professor! She can seem intimidating at first but she's actually very nice & funny! I'm a fluent spanish speaker so I found class easy. Although she actually did teach me a lot about accents! (Which was my main struggle with Spanish) I would definitely recommend her class!

She has a tendency to 'leapfrog' you when you ask questions which wastes both your time and hers. Text is an RCC edition = can't resell on amazon / have to buy it new. Lab section was a complete waste of time. Its all work you could have done from home considering that very few of the on duty professors are able to actually help you with your work.

HILARIOUS. She'll surprise you with her humor. Very helpful and makes it VERY easy to pass the class. Gives several opportunities to succeed. Speaks Spanish really well and will make you understand the language. Lab hours are a must, don't slack off! Online workbook is a must as well.

Gwen was by far one of the best professors I have ever taken! She is funny, highly intelligent, and super hip. She is a little woman with a fiery personality. She doesn't accept bs excuses but if you miss class for a legitimate reason she is compassionate and will allow you to attend one of her other lectures. She reviews each chapter before exams

Best professor ever! She is so funny & makes you feel comfortable in her class. Her lectures are in spanish & she does require questions to also be in spanish but she does her best to guide you to understand. You are allowed to redo online quizzes and homework unlimited amount of times to reach 100%! Test questions are usually from homework.

sylabus is clear , do allth ework an read before class and its an easy a all the test involve the language lab homework you will be at the lab every other day guarantee

She is strict, has her ways but she makes sure you learn it! I was scared to take her class. ABSOLUTLEY NO PHONES! NOR BREAKS (unless you take a 5 hour class in the winter, get 20 min break) If you are late, walk out, leave early-you lose points. I failed all test but 1, did all the lab and homework, few extra credit points, passed with a B!

She's a good teacher. You'll learn the Spanish if you really pay attention, she is a little harsh, no phones in class or she will kick you out. If you miss a certain amount of classes she'll drop you. But all you have to do is do the assignments and participate and it's an easy A. I got a B because I skipped a few but that's my fault.

Show up everyday do the reading and you will be fine. Please for the love of all things dandy just do the homework and reading ON TIME. Her tests are SO easy and she is so lenient as long as you do things ON TIME. PARTICIPATE and sit up to the front she does notice and helps people who care and ask questions.

Yount is the best teacher I've had in my college career! She really loves her job and does it well. She's hilarious in class and makes Spanish fun! Professor Yount is one of the best professors I've had throughout my college career. She cares deeply about her students and will go the extra mile for students who do the reading, participate in class, and put in the effort. Attendance is mandatory, but her lectures are by no means boring. I would take any class taught by her in a heartbeat!

I had a low C for most of the semester but got a B by the end. Here's what I recommend. 1. Read each chapter thoroughly before going to the labs. 2. Spend as much time in the lab as possible since the quizzes are identical to the labs. 3. She offers extra credit for going to each class DO IT IF YOU CAN. IT raised me from a 76 to a B. Seek help

This was the most time consuming and challenging class that I have taken in the time that I have attended RCC. Be ready to spend TONS of time in the language lab.

Shes so smart. shes the best spanish professors here. this class will build a really good foundation for you if youre actually trying to learn spanish. the work is easy. as long as you show up, participate, and do the homework this class is amazing. 100/10

She is very strict with things like being late, not doing your work on time or not participating which is an automatic deduction/zero. Other than that, her strictness made me learn Spanish the best way as long as you turn in things on time, study and go to the labs. She grades discussions based off of her lessons so don't rely on google translate.

I had Professor Yount over summer during the COVID-19 pandemic so everything was online for me. She's very thorough in her lectures and makes sure everyone knows what's going on, although she can be a little intimidating. She cares for her students and wants them to do well! Make sure you get your 3 hours in the lab each week!

She is there for you in and out of class. I had some issues come up during the term and I almost withdrew. She convinced me not to and I ended up with an A. Highly recommend her!

This class was by far one of the easiest classes Ive taken. Although, there is someone what a lot of work you work at your own pace, her work is also very easy you can also keep trying until you get a 100% on the assignments! Profesora Yount is a very warm and welcoming Professor. You can ask her questions and she'll get back to you fast. The course has a weird grading system in my opinion but it's very easy and manageable. She's a very helpful instructor and wants you to succeed.

Rather annoying in that she brings in personal political viewpoints to talk about that have absolutly no relation to the topic being taught. With personal political viewpoints it is generally best only to bring them to the classroom if they are relevant to the topic of the subject. Otherwise it tends to be venting and a detraction.

Gwen was a nice and caring prof. It was an online course, so I never interacted with her in person, but even then, I knew she cared. I fell behind for about 2 weeks, and she emailed me asking if I was doing okay and if I were struggling with work, she would be free to help me. Teachers who reach out to students are the best and I appreciated that.

Don't take this Professor if you're a softy. She can be a bit harsh but so is life, so get over it. Her class is actually easy if you pay attention. There's a lot of homework, all online and pretty self explanatory. If you want an easy A, this ain't it. But it's an A if you put in the time and show up to class. I just became lazy as most of us.
