Would not recommend professor Wilkins to ANYONE. She is not the nicest teacher, she hates answering your questions and will often times disregard them or get mad that you are asking so many questions. They work load is HEAVY. She grades unfairly and takes off points for every little thing, would not recommend her to anyone, ever. TAKE SOMEONE ELSE!

Mrs. Wilkins' class is not hard, there's just a lot of work. There are 4 quizzes (which take 2 hours each), 10 reading responses from the textbook readings, and field experience reflections. Honestly, the expectations were not clear. Very unorganized, not very understanding, the assignments did not have rubrics, very difficult grader, and the assignments were difficult and a lot of work. WOULD NEVER TAKE AGAIN.

She is very strict in attendance and will deduct points if you miss but doesn't hold that standard to herself. The outside work for the class is very rigorous and a huge chunk of your time completing her work, DO NOT TAKE HER!

Professor Wilkins has very high expectations for assignments but does not provide a rubric for any assignment. She has made me question if I am cut out to become a teacher. Her class to not enjoyable at all. I strongly suggest taking this course with another professor if you have the option. 90% of my school work this semester was from her class.

Getting an A in this class is doable but it's ridiculously difficult. She won't tell you but for lesson plans, she wants you to cosplay as a teacher and write everything as a script. Think "Let's sound out this word" instead of 'I would have students sound out the word' as a response. You NEED to get the physical textbook, there is no full pdf.

If I can't get an A in this class, then I'll make sure somebody else can. Her online quizzes have content that directly comes from the textbook, so don't feel like you have to memorize everything bc you can find the exact question in the book. For lesson plans, type as much as you can. Make them at least 7 pages and give as much detail as possible.

The reviews are dramatic because she actually was a good prof lol. High expectations simply because we are teaching the future. She is very flexible and would meet if you needed in-person feedback, I often myself getting better as a writer through the year because of her feedback.

Avoid. Hard grader for no reason. Unclear guidelines for everything. Go into office hours, she'll be nicer when grading your papers. Can be very rude. High-stress all the time. Try for a different professor if possible. If not, you'll get by, but you'll hate everyday.

Start all your work ahead of time! Very time-consuming class and confusing. She can make your questions feel like you shouldn't be asking them. Pray that the TAs for the semester can help you because mine were also confused with what she was looking for on assignments. Get ready for the hardest class yet but it can be done.

Get ready to read and ask questions even if she makes you feel dumb when asking them. This class was the worst thing of my college experience. But you can pass just be ready to spend a lot of time on this class! She post the PowerPoints late so I wouldn't even try to get them after class because she refused to share them until the end of the week.

Please believe the reviews you are seeing. She is very disrespectful towards her students. She is a hard grader and her class is assignment heavy. She either posts the slides late or she does not at all due to "copy write". She does not allow technology in her classroom. She will also take off 20 points for every class you miss.

Absolute worst professor. Won't upload slides due to "copy right" and she literally just reads the slides word for word. Hard grader but will tell you "don't worry about grades they don't matter" and then will literally fail you. Won't help on assignments, when you ask a question she just looks at like your dumb and responds with another question.

Going to her lecture was dreadful. Attendance is mandatory and she takes off 20 points from your class average for every absence. She is not clear as to what she wants you to turn in, a very picky grader. Technology is not allowed at all in her class. Never posts slides. Take anybody else if you can! Otherwise, this class will not be easy.

I have had Dr. Wilkins for 3 consecutive semesters. She is a very strict grader but leaves really helpful feedback. She has a really bad rap for assigning "tons" of homework, being a tough grader, and not leaving clear instructions, but I think that mostly just comes from lazy students who don't really care about learning.

This course requires some outside work, but overall, it is manageable. The professor grades hard but is very clear on what is expected. All the work is lined up with her expectations, so if you follow what is given, getting an A in this class is manageable and achievable.

Great professor! Attendance is mandatory and the class is assignment heavy, but the grading is fair and I feel like I learned a lot from both lectures and studying the given materials. Overall, she has high expectations, but if you put in the work it will be well worth the time and effort.

Overall was not a very hard class as long as you use the textbook to complete assignments. BUT Gwendolyn was the worst professor I have had in college. She is very condescending and I genuinely believe she prays on students downfall. You can't leave during class for any reason or she will take points off of attendance. And she grades very picky.

Mrs. Wilkins can be nice. She truly does love her topic. However, she is a VERY harsh grader. Extremely critical and doesn't give much reason as to why. You HAVE to interact and participate in class, answer all of the questions and stay off your phone.

She is a sweet lady but I would not recommend taking her. If you don't show up or do something that rubs her the wrong way say goodbye to a good grade on your assignments. The assignments aren't hard but she is a tough grader so pay attention to how she wants her assignments done and read the textbook. Also do not procrastinate!
