He needs to improve his teaching method. I do not understand how did he get his job in teaching. He is unhelpful and unclear. Take him on your own risk

One of the worst teachers I have had the misfortune of "learning" with. Writing is illegible, at best. Accent is thick. Work must be done his way (exactly) or you get no credit, even with a correct answer. I am a 4.0 student and am barely passing this class. Don't take him at all.

He was the worst teacher I have ever had. Not only could I not understand most of what he said.....he doesn't explain anything. He does problems on the board only to realize that he did them wrong and goes back to fix them however you have already learned the material incorrectly. You will regret taking him!

As others said, he has really heavy accent and his writng is too hard to understand. His character is nice,but just he has a problem of English.He doen't seem to understand English.And it is true that most of students dropped.

Everyone says phys50 is easy - not with him. He's unhelpful and he is a jerk. He will not listen to your questions and doesn't understand what he is supposed to be explaining. He demands too much for the tests/quizes (steps & procedures, etc.) and grades unfairly. He really needs to be fired.

Lousy pedagogy; "teaches" exclusively by working HW problems in-class. Essentially expects students to learn material from doing homework. Grades irregularly and inconsistently on tests. I loathe this man along with 95% of the class. Knows the material, but can't teach it . No clue as to how he became a professor. Do not take his class. Ever.

Do yourself a favor and do not take his class. He knows the material but is very unclear in his instruction and is inconsistant in his grading. If you must take this class be sure to ask him 10 times what he wants on the test and what he expects you to show in your work. He Will mark you off 100% if you do not show the work like he expects.

I doubt he has a phd in physics. He made a stupid but critical mistake on a solution to a exam, which assured me that this guy didn't have a phd. His hand writing is terrible. Absolutely horrid teacher. Started off with 40 students, ended with 8. He makes mistakes on simple math calculations, and has an absolutely horrid accent. This man should have his teaching credentials revoked.

he is the worst teacher in De Anza, I suggest don't take this teacher!! At the beginning of the course, we got 48 students, now we have 8 students. how he is that you can feel.

His lectures are unclear and he yells at students for asking questions when they want clarification. His tests are impossible to complete in the designated time and are "show yar vark" tests, which means if you do not do the exact same step-by-step process he would have done, you are marked off points, whether or not your answer was correct.

His class is one of the most horrible ones. He never explain any questions. A useless teacher. His pronunciation is really really unclear. The terrible sound will freak you out.

The worst teacher I have ever had. I only went to class for the attendance points and then tuned him out to read the textbook and teach myself. His tests have 7 or 8 questions worth a lot of points for showing work but you don't know what to show since he never even finishes example problems. If you ask about a test grade he gets angry.

Avoid his class at ALL costs. Unless you went through 49B already, he'll give you a VERY hard time. If you get the right answer and don't arrive to that answer the way HE wants you to, you'll never get full credit. Hislectures are incomprehensible. if you ask him a question, he'll make you look like an idiot. You'll regret taking him.

There is absolutely no reason to be in Mr. Shah's class at all. He is a stubborn teacher that wants things exactly his way or no way. He grades very unfairly and takes off an unreasonable amount of points. Even if students ask for help to fix their grades, he does absolutely nothing and repeats the same thing " just do the homework"

I cannot believe I have to keep my grade for this class. I tried hard but he completely ruined my GPA. It doesn't matter how hard you try to get extra credit or get help with tests, he will never help you. Who gave him a teaching credential? We should boycott this so called professor. You have to do your equations the exact way he teaches you and the exact way he wants you to show your work otherwise you will be marked down. Does not give partial credit even if you got everything right except the answer. NOT TO MENTION HE BARELY SPEAKS ENGLISH

A lot to learn in this class, so take someone you can understand. His way of doing matrix algebra confused most of my classmates. Glad I already knew how to do it.

Terrible teacher =( I took this subject before and did so well with other teachers but he is soo picky and terrible at teaching. It can really affect your gpa, even if you really need this class, wait and take it with someone else next quarter if he's the only one left.

He's a really nice guy but he's seriously the worst teacher I've ever had. Theres not way to follow him, he rushes and doesn't explain well and he over loads you wtih home work, I'm usually really good at math and I got an A+ in my last class. The WORST professor. Shows that DA does NOT evaluate or even attend their instructors classes. Talks to board while writing, stands in front of what he's writing so you can take notes until he moves and by then he's on to another part of problem. Worst teacher on the planet. De Anza does not care about who they hire to "teach" students. Avoid this professor if you can because you will end up having to teach yourself everything due to his incomprehensible accent, writing and overall lack of teaching abilities. Run!

3 previous math classes were A+. This class was an F. I would get the correct answers on the tests and he would mark them wrong. He said he didn't like my work. When asked what I needed to do, he said, "you are in college you should know." Online homework was broken the entire quarter but still counted toward our grade. I've filed a grievance.

WORSE PROFESSOR EVER. Even if your work and answers are correct he won't give you credit unless you do it his way. Don't bother going to the tutorial center because the tutors will teach you a different way and he'll mark you wrong. Started with 35 students down to 9. He's pathetic professor who doesn't care for his students. I've talked to my whole class not one student ever got a B on his midterm.

Stay as far away from this teacher as possible. His class is more and more tiring with every lecture. He is unclear, unorganized, and very strict about a policy that give you no chance of getting an A.

Please, for those planning to take Math-11 I honestly suggest that you look for a different professor than shah. His lectures are basically pointless. You have to self-teach in order to understand the material. He does not curve any test and is very strict about show every little details on test and quizzes. I hope Deanza hires a different person.

He has no business being a teacher. He is incapable of communicating ideas or engaging the class. One of the worst math teachers at De Anza and that's saying something. I don't understand how he got hired in the first place. He's even late to his own class. Only take him if you're already good with math and can teach yourself.

Worst professor I have ever taken. Endless Webassign, 7 question, 70 point exams. Confusing lectures, boring, irritated by questions. Had to drop because at best, I'd only have managed a C. Unbelievably difficult, even for people who are good at math + self learning. It's better to not take math than to get stuck in his class.

He gave us a lot of tough exam and a lil bit hard to grade them. So that u should memorize or well understand materials that the test will cover.

he's a nice guy but unless you really already know the subject or can teach yourself out of the book you will struggle. lectures are hard to understand and hardwriting is hard to read. If math is a subject you struggle with I highly do not recommend this classs for you.

You definitely don't want to take this class. Honestly, even if you self study its not going to help because he gives you completely different problems on the exam then what you actually learn in the textbook. Also, he is a hard grader and will mark off points EVEN if you have the right answers but the work is not according to his liking.

Terrible professor. He is really hard to understand and you cant read his handwriting on the whiteboard. Also he tried to start our class 15 minutes late and keep us 15 minutes extra because he said the bathroom was too far away from our class and he needed to use the restroom before our class started. Extremely hard to understand because of his accent, he goes off on a tangent almost always. His cell phone always goes off during class and he has to leave to pick it up which is kind of unproffesional. He doesn't explain things clearly even if you do understand him with his accent, the projector he uses is really hard to see even tho i am infront.

Your graded on his "idea" on what the answer should be... if you follow the question exactly you will still get marked off if he thinks you should answer more than asked. He has no clue what ebook textbooks area, yells at students for using e readers. This Prof should not be allow to teach.

Do not take this class if not already proficient in mathematics. VERY thick accent, skips steps during examples, and unable to explain in simpler terms all make it very difficult to follow along. Must purchase $100 HW program that doesn't work and doesn't give access to the textbook, another $100. HW is 100 problems due each Sat. DO NOT RECOMMEND

Summer 2020. This was the only class available because I forgot to register early. I dropped 10 minutes into the first lecture. Very, very thick accent. The quality of his webcam & camera was AWFUL. You can see nothing, it was so blurry. Everyone was complaining about the blurriness & he did nothing to fix it. Not sure if its better now. Just no.

Not tech-savvy. Video quality and handwriting make it harder to read what he's doing. His microphone is low quality and he has a very strong accent, and communication both verbally and through email is difficult and slow. If he's the only class left, you're better off just waiting for next quarter.
