Do not take this professor. He is a nice friendly guy, but he sets you up for failure. He gives take home quizzes/reviews. Explains the assignment on the board but come test time, the exams have nothing to do with what he taught in class. He does not give curves. Worst professor I have ever had at GPC. Not a professor to take.
maybe not the worst professor at gpc, but his test and quizzes are much harder than examples in class, just like any math class. if you are pretty good in maths and looking for a challenge....take his class. otherwise don't. test are ten times difficult than classwork, and oh he loves graph and word problems. he will graph anything. but nice guy.
he is a great teacher and he is sooooo smart he its extremely sweet and very helpful i wanted to take him for my net math class but he is not sheduled on the days i needed!!
Great Person and really nice, but TERRIBLE at teaching.
Really nice guy, but a challenging teacher. I am usually able to skate by and get an A- not with Mr. Sabree!!!! I had to work for a B, most of my classmates had a very hard time and were near failing before the final...no curve, but he does drop a few low quiz scores.
Nice person but EXTREMELY BAD at teaching
omg... again omg .... omg ..... the worst teacher that i have ever seen. not to brag but im a hard working student. this teacher gives homeworks that are not graded. what you do in the book and what he teaches in class is easy. what he brings on test and quiz is 100 times harder that what he gives as a hw and what he teaches in class. bad teacher!
Avoid this teacher at all costs! His tests are no where as easy as his lectures! Nice man but not anywhere anywhere close to being a good teacher.
if you are planning on taking this professor get ready to suffer. i studied really hard and failed because the tests are really really hard and the exam was even harder. what you do in class is easy buy what he brings on the test is really hard. i suggest you stay way from this professor unless you are super good at math
His lectures often left me confused. He assumes that everyone has recently had another algebra class and that is not the case. his tests were hard as hell.
Don't get deceived by the negative comments below. Haazim is one of the greatest and smartest math professors I've ever had. He is always prepared to help you. He gives out A LOT of extra credits. I would definitely take him again for higher math courses. But only thing that might bother people is that he is quite strict on attendance.
Clay Kelly is possibly the nicest man ever. He is so interested in the material and motivates others to get interested about it. he relates to students very well and is willing to help out with anything. he's just a great guy all around. This class is not only easy, but it's interesting. If there is chance, I would take again SURELY!!!
haazim sabree is a nice teacher in personality. when it comes to teaching he is not good. he will set you up for failure. what we learn in class and what we do on tests and exam are completely different. in general it's really hard to pass this class.
ONE OF THE BEST PROFESSORS IN GPC! No offense, but people who wrote bad things about him are the ones who did not study enough. I took his advice, studied the materials he gave, and got used to using the calculator, which is essential. If you follow his instructions, no problems to get an A.
To be honest math was my worst subject and I hated it. But Professor Sabree really changed all of this. His explanations are crystal-clear and he applies all the concepts into different sets of questions. His tests are not that hard. A shouldn't be too hard
A lot of extra credits. Not easy but not hard either
If you want a teacher who is confident when he answers your question, this is NOT the teacher. He is the worst teacher I've ever had. His lectures don't make sense, and he doesn't care. I tried so hard to listen and I did all of the assignments and study guides but all of his exams were completely different. If you wanna pass, DONT TAKE THIS CLASS
He is strict. But overall pretty good teacher. Heard so many badthings bout him but he isn't that bad seriously
Take him if you seriously want to learn math. Don't if you just want an easy A without actually learning anything. His class really made me confident about math and I am all prepared for pre calc next semester!!
I couldn't get used to his style at first. His explanations are sometimes difficult to comprehend. Overall, however, his class wasn't the hardest of all. I previously had tougher professors. Get used to his style though
worst teacher I've ever had. ever. I actually enjoy math, but he made it absolutely miserable. I would not recommend this teacher
I was good at math before I met him. My GPA was high before I met him
I felt like sabree came here and wrote all the good comments lol. But yea its not an easy class. You gonna work hard for no reason because at the end your going down.
i dont know why Mr Sabree has bad reviews. He explains really good, he actually doesnt get upset if student ask de same question he just answered. tests are this easy: made 4 and only counts the highest 3. quizzes are the reviews before the tests and you take them home. i make you simple for you: do your homework and you will pass
He is awesome. can not explain!
Yeah i had to withdraw after failing all his tests which were really problems that we never understood because in class he would only cover part of a concept
Honestly he knows what he's doing for sure but he pretty much expects you to know the material already, hes not really clear when it comes to explaining challenging parts of the material. I had to drop his class cause I kinda felt like I was teaching myself.
i took this class for summer semester, really hard no time at all. i am currently taking the same class with another professor and i am loving the class and have a straight A+ . i would not recommend him , clarity was bad and not very helpful , the guy is nice but not a good teacher
Took his class last spring semester. Failed the class, retaking the class with another teacher and I am passing it. Do the hw assigned, it'll help you along the way.
Not clear when explaining just does the work on the bored then moves on, needs to slow down, and take teaching more seriously.
Not helpful at all, don't take him. Bad schedule timing, and he doesn't explain well. I learn everything from YouTube to pass the class.
Awful teacher ever. Not recommended
Do yourself a life changing favor and take another teacher.
i highly recommend not taking any classes with this guy.
The notes given in this class are vague, I had to google how to do most things at home in order to complete the homework. It seems as though he is being condescending whenever I ask a question as if what I'm asking is common knowledge. I haven't been in school for 5 years, so I need a little extra guidance. Nice guy, but not the best professor.
Tests are hard and not what he taught in class, He can't teach and expects you to know this already. Gives no homework
Awesome and patient teacher!
He has a lot of patience but goes way too fast, especially for someone like me who is horrible at math! Don't take him you will fail
Does not go over all course materials in class. Can not alway follow lectures and I feel like there is always something that goes unexplained after every class that I attend.
Just dropped out of this class. He doesn't bother helping you. I'm an engineering major and consider myself to be good at math. Youtube would be more helpful than this. Don't waste your time and effort with this class.
Mr. Sabree made it clear that his course would be difficult, but he made the math course that I have passed in the past, a million more times difficult. I was angry that I failed but then I discovered that out of 32 people in the beginning of the semester about 5 passed. He was a nice man, but not the best professor.
the hardest teacher ever.
Knew the subject, but didn't seem to have much patience for questions. He said to not be shy and ask , but when someone did, he gave a short answer that sometimes didn't even fully answer the question and then would tell us all to 'get (Math lab) help'. It was almost like he didn't want to help, but had to as the professor. Bad experience over all
So we took Sabree for second semester and it was the hardest math course we have ever taken in our life. He says he's open for questions but when a student would ask he would giggle and then proceed to somewhat answer it after making them feel dumb. SHOW ALL WORK ON TEST, no multiple choice. He's funny but it won't get you an A. You're welcome.
Mr. Sabree is really nice but his class was very difficult. If you are not naturally good at math, you will have to spend A LOT of time studying and getting extra help. You have to put in a lot of extra work. (I don't know why people selected "Tough Grader" though because he was good at giving partial credit on everything if you showed work.)
Great person! don't get me wrong the man knows his math i tell you no lie but i felt like everything he was teaching me i knew but he just made hard for no reason like everything was a word problem and it was always confusing. i took him over he summer... failed. I had to understand they the course i took he don't teach often so i considered that.
If you're okay with a response of sarcasm to a question you ask about a problem, take him :) He knows his math, but I at times felt very uncomfortable asking questions and he goes super fast. He says he has a lot of patience but when you stop him he gets frustrated and says "I said this already" or my favorite.. "You learned this from the textbook"
HE MADE MY LIFE MISERABLE. By the end of the semester, there were only ten students. (out of 32) He made sure he sped through the material and made you feel stupid for asking a question. I studied so hard I finally just gave up. He should retire. He has no passion for educating students. If you're a math wiz he will be okay, if not, stray away.
Even though I pay attention during the class, I still have many doubts. He didn't really explain all the topic.. so I got C or sometimes B on the quizzes. Only the people who really understand algebra and are good at it are fine. I would not recommend to take him. He explained too fast, meaning that he only cares about giving his topics.
good professor, if you pay attention in his class you will pass ;)
He grades so harshly. I have never put in more work for a class before and still got an F. I had tutors on campus and paid for one. I went to tutorials and STILL GOT AN F.
He is the toughest math teacher in GPC. Doeasn't really care about his students, more interested in completing his syllables and moving on. Doesn't allow you resit a missed quiz/test, even if you just lost your Mom. You could score 100% on his homeworks/quiz and still fail the class. Tough grader. No room for extra credit. Ignores your emails.
I took his class over the summer. Optional homework is very helpful. I do not recommend taking this class if you are not very responsible, dont enjoy math, or if you expect a high school teacher who gives homeork grades and notebook checks. His class was tough but I feel well prepared for precalculus.
He knows math but he has no idea how to teach it. College algebra is pretty easy but he makes it so hard for everyone. He is also to lazy to respond to your email. There are way better professors in perimeter. 4/10
he is a terrible teacher, he is nice but his tests are way different than his study guides. my entire class has to retake the course because he can't teach. DON'T take him!
Prof Sabree is a very good teacher. He will explain a problem multiple times until you understand it without hesitation. He gives many opportunities for you to pass and do better such as HW as quiz grades! Go for it, sign up for his class!
DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS EVER!! I had taken his class because i was late to register for courses, i work 30 hours and had 15 credits to handle, the other teachers were very helpful except for him, he never answers emails, does not know how to teach, does not even explain his class, the review sheets given were nothing like the exam. i give 0 rating.
He was nice and cared about all of his students passing. However, other than his good personality and good intentions, he was not an easy teacher. He taught a lot of material per class and gave out quizzes every two class periods. If youre someone that struggles with math, do not take his class. He is very fast paced which made his class very hard
I took College Algebra and have never really been good at math. Mr. Sabree will lecture, but doesn't really explain anything he's doing, he just does it. There is a quiz ever 2 classes and if you miss class or are late he makes sure to call you out in class for it. If there is another prof available for the class you need, please take it.
I had professor Sabree over the summer semester. He was a great professor. He was easy to reach, and he was super understanding and kind. The work was challenging, but he did help out a bit. 10/10 would love to have him as my math prof again!
THE WORST PROFESSOR DO NOT TAKE HIM. I had engineering and math students in my class who dropped out or couldn't pass. He makes algebra so much harder. I'm fairly good at math, but I failed his class.
I am not the best at math, BUT THIS MAN IS HORRIBLE AT TEACHING. He goes super fast in his lectures, doesn't really explain things well, and gets mad when you ask a question in class. If you can deal with a professor who can't teach and nervously laughs when you know that he doesn't know the answer himself, take his class. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!
U Know too much assignment and test. Never :(
This professor isn't good he goes fast and expects you to know everything. Too many quizzes and difficult questions. I'm so bad at math and it was so difficult to keep up i was rethinking life choices 0_0 i wasted a W. I would avoid this professor AT ALL COST. If you can, take Tichenor Scott (Clarkston Campus).
He moves through the work a bit fast but will stop when you ask him to. He is very caring and considerate.
By all means if you want to fail go ahead and take him
His lectures are pretty boring and as a result of his teaching methods you can easily get lost and not understand the material. Where he did excel though was if you had any question he would go through it with you until you understood the topic
* I did not do my research and chose this class with professor to align with my schedule. Too much Online homework, review sheets are almost impossible to complete before test (6 days), Quizzes every week, lectures are just filling a worksheet for a grade and not keeping it till graded. You won't learn unless you use outside sources from class.
Do not take him if you're bad at math. The way he teaches is horrible.
I think the issue most people have with this class is that it's fast paced, but that's kind of inevitable since it's a year of math within a single semester. It's is definitely a STEM weed out class, so I wouldn't say that the difficulty is the professors fault. He's really considerate, communicates well, and teaches in an easy to understand way.
Mr. Sabree is so good. He gave extra credit for every test.
Professor Sabree was a great instructor. He gave a lot of homework but those were not difficult to do. The tests are quite difficult so make sure you study first.
Professor Sabree is an exceptional educator who truly cares about the success and well-being of his students. He took the time to get to know each of his students and was always available to answer questions or provide additional help outside of class. Overall, I highly recommend Professor Sabree to anyone looking for an outstanding educator.
As a student in Professor Sabree's class, I was immediately struck by his enthusiasm for the subject matter and his ability to convey complex concepts in a way that was easy to understand. His teaching style is both innovative and effective. He incorporates a variety of teaching methods and technologies to keep the class dynamic and engaging.
Best instructor ever. Do your homework and pay attention in class, and you will pass.
Very good instructor, he gives extra credit for the tests as long as you do the study guide. Homework are based on what you learned in class which is fairly manageable. Easy grader.
He's very kind and understanding. He'll go above and beyond to help you make up for lost grades. He's the perfect blend between present, but not suffocating, and chill, but not neglectful. The quizzes and tests were pretty chill and he never shamed anyone for having bad grades. He was easy to talk to and open-minded.
I usually don't write reviews but I needed to write this one because I wanted to warn anyone that is looking to take him. I disliked everything from his teaching methods to grading style. He literally dropped my GPA and I can say with confidence that he may be great at math but he is awful at teaching. Do yourself a favor and don't take the class!!
His teaching style is not great, he expects you to know everything after doing it just once. Attendance required, he gave me a 0 on a quiz I could not attend to for religious reasons. Do not take him if possible.
This professor was awful, I had him for Mon/Wed classes, he would go over his notes and went over everything hella fast and that same day he would give us a packet to work on and Wednesday he would give us a quiz and he gave us ALOT of hw. Every week it was the same and sometimes the packets were too much and I had to take it home to work on it.
I don write reviews but I had to for him. He is a great person BUT when it comes to teaching... BIG NO NO. I took his class and by the mid term I had a 55% everyone dropped the class to save their GPA, keep in mind that I AM A STRAIGHT A STUDENT. I did everything. Study guide? useless bc the test is NOTHING like it. save ur selfs! ANY1 except HIM!
Professor Sabree is very helpful. He taught quite fast sometimes but you still can ask questions during his office hour. He even responded to my email during Thanksgiving break. If you are not doing well in his class, please come to his office and ask questions. He really cares about his students.
Professor Sabree was very knowledgeable and helpful!
I dont write reviews but I had to for him. BIG NO NO. dont take him. I took his class and by the mid term I had a 55% 3/4 of the class dropped out to save their GPA, keep in mind that I am a straight A student and I did everything by the last day to drop the class. Study guide? useless bc the test is NOTHING like it. save ur selfs! ANY1 except HIM!
This teacher Gives us a test or quiz within 1 day of learning the material he will put things on the test that we didn't even learn
This professor will intentionally sabotage your ability to excel in this course. We showed up on day one met by a pop quiz and sly condescending comments as to our ability to pass his class. Didn't release his study guide until after the test. The condescending comments persisted throughout the first week and 70% of the students dropped his course.
Gives out nothing but worksheets with an answer key his my lab math has stuff we never talked about his only solutions is my lab math e videos he can't teach or he doesn't want to teach take him if you want to be your own professor but if you need real help with step by step problem solving do not take him
Terrible teacher. He did not post anything on iCollege and assigned up to 12 homework assignments each week
I ended up registering last minute for this course and my GPA suffered for it. I'm sure he is a good dude and means well, but avoid this class at all costs if you struggle with math (in any capacity) or want to preserve your GPA.
