Very Good Teacher. He is fast-paced in his presentations, but still easy to follow in class. His test are somewhat hard, but read each chapter just before he presents them in class along with bringing the on-line quizes to class, and will you ACE his tests everytime. He's a good professor, but he grades tough. I like him on a personal level, but if you don't put forth any effort, it will show in his class. I put forth very little effort and got a C. He'd be a great teacher if you were.. actually interested in economics in the first place.

He's an awesome professor but also a tough professor. If you put forth effort and try you should be able to do good. He has a very good teaching style. The only thing to get use to are his online quizzes which aren't to easy, other than that the class isn't too bad

He is so enthusiastic about his passion, economics. He is entertaining and animated. His test are tough but if you listen to his great examples & study you will do just fine. You will not be disappointed because his examples will help you tremendously while entertaining you.

really nice guy. he changed my schedule for me so i could go to a later class and not his 8am class (the only one available). obviously hes really helpful and out to make the students happy. plus he has a sweet rat tail.

Hadley is a funny guy and tries to make economics interesting. Has online quizzes, and tests aren't too bad. Attendance matters. Overall, I would recommend him.

He is a great guy just his tests and quizzes are very tough multiple choice and that is his entire grade. Can be tardy and you just sign the attendance sheet at the end of class(if you are smooth your friend can sign it for you). Although classes are easy to skip out on they are very helpful so go to class and study hard!You must apply economics

I loved Prof. H He's a great person inside and out. His tests were difficult. He loves it when you ask questions! He really does help you. So dont be affraid to ask! It is a difficult test, but I apply what I have learned even today to everyday things! He leaves and impression (good one).

Good Teacher, not that great of notes, but they help, quizes online, and they only help your grade! sit in the front i think it helps, and not that bad of a guy, very excitable.

The guy is nuts, but if you can get past the jumping and screaming and whispering you will do ok. The only bad part is that you have to do quizzes online ALL the time. they suck.

Excellent Teacher. Took Macro online and took Micro on campus with him. Tests and quizzes are not too difficult. Typical test bank questions, he is not big into definitions on test, he wants you to actually think and apply what you learned. Has a unique teaching style, easy to understand and helps you along the way. Got A's in both classes!

Hadley's probably the best teacher I've seen. He gives 100% every lecture and makes the material as easy to understand as possible. His tests are pretty hard and you will be required to learn in order to do well. I've never seen a prof so willing to help a student. Really an all-around great guy. Other prof's can learn from him.

Mr. H is one of the coolest teachers around! The class in itself is hard but if you come to class everyday, read the material on time, and do the online quizzes, there is no reason why you don't pass his class. He has a great sense of humor which makes the class even more fun to be in. If you're taking both macro and micro, Hartman is the guy!

hartman is a great teacher, but the class is hard, not doubt about it. you have to STUDY for tests and all quizzes are takehome so you have to read the book THOROUGHLY. he goes over half of the info which appears on quizzes, but you must learn the rest in order to complete the quiz in time, and then he goes over that info next class. Econ is not an easy subject; its not a class for someone just looking to boost their gpa.. for his class you just have to read the material he assigns b4 going to class, do well on the quizzes, participate and study for the exams.

Mr Hartman is awesome! Honestly, I can't imagine a better econ teacher. He's so into his subject that he just made me love economics too. He uses lots of real-world examples, and his lectures are great. The class definitely isn't the easiest, but it's not impossible. Just do the quizzes and study for tests and you'll be fine.

I took this class online. It was required to show up for the midterm and final and I thought Hartman was so funny. I recommond going to his reviews. He is SO into the subject. He also was very helpful explaining things to me when I had a question. This class can be hard because the economics makes no sense but Hartman is a very good teacher.

I'm taking the class online and it is a difficult subject. His format for requiring input each week from each student is very helpful. He responds to EVERYTHING that is posted by the students to clarify whether their understanding of the topic is correct. Great professor!

I took this online and found it very hard. I put alot of time into studying and still didn't do very well. Wish I would have taken it on campus. Hartman is great though. He did campus reviews for each of the 2 campus exams. He's very enthusiastic about economics. Nice guy.

Overall the class was great! I have an interest in the subject, so my review may seem a little biased. I felt like his instructions were clear and set in stone...sometimes he gets a little worked up/excited about the subject IE talks fast, rambles....but he just loves the material so much that it's hard for him to contain.

The questions in the tests and quizzes are all from the book or the notes he provide in class. Read the book and you will understand EVERYTHING! Love this teacher.

Took him online for Macroeconomics. There are no lectures, it's very book intensive (as all online classes are). He was very quick to respond to questions through email and discussion boards, this was extremely helpful. Quiz questions are pulled straight from the book. Exams are not easy, but cover material from quizzes and from the book. Had Fun!

Hartman is a great online teacher. He gives you a pretest, quiz, and disscussion every week. Everything is from the book and easy to look up. The midterm is pretty easy, but the final is hard. Take H.H. and you should do well, if you spend the time needed to study.

He has a lot of energy. Economics is a hard class and its a lot of studying, but he makes it pretty clear. I did not think I would end up with an A but I did. There are three tests, a quiz every week online, and a final. Not a ton of busy work, just have to study. Overral I liked him and I think you should take him.

Wow! for the couple of semesters I have been on campus I have not seen not one instructor that is as good as Mr. Hartman. He not only teaches great and passionately but he gives you a desire to plug into class discussions that makes you enjoy what you are learning even more. Pick him, you will not be disappointed just follow his guidelines!

I had the unique experience of signing up for his online class... and dropping it.. then taking him in person... I recommend the latter.. He is an amazing teacher... Show up to class and do your quizes (which you can print and bring to class then turn in online after class) and you will get a "b" if not don't expect to do well

Hartman is one of the best professors at SFC. He explains everything perfectly and answers any and all questions. The tests are fair and cover exactly what you go over in class. He does count attendance, but you need to go to class anyway to do well. I got an A. Highly recommended.

Mr. Hartman is the best Econ teacher at SFC! I am not saying that the subject or the class is easy and you will get an A. I worked my butt off and got a B+. But it was well worth it! He teaches you stuff that you can take with you for the rest of your life. If you care anything about actually LEARNING something, then take HARTMAN!!!

HARD! HARD! HARD! I needed Macro for my transfer major and chose Hartman. He is extremely knowledgeable and helpful but his class isn't easy. There are 10 quizzes, 3 tests and a cumalitive final at the end. I put in a lot of work and still received a C- but was happy with it! I doubt anyone made an A. I heard his online class is easier.

Mr. Hartman is pretty much THE MAN!! Economics is not the easiest of courses but he makes it as easy as possible. The guy is crystal clear of his expectations up front, very fair, pretty funny, and full of energy. Weekly quizzes on angel, 3 tests, 1 cum. final. TAKE HIM FOR MACRO AND MICRO!!! I did and got B+ and A. never a boring moment in class.

Took both Micro and Macro online, great professor. Courses aren't easy but he works with students to help them understand the often complex material. Quizzes are straightforward, tests are more difficult but still very fair. Gives plenty of study materials and very quick responses to emails and discussion posts. Would take again!

Hadley is one of the funniest prof. I have ever taken at SFC. Very tough class and tests. If you are not reading ALL of the material before class and do poorly on the quizzes then you will not pass this class. He is very knowledgeable and does not make the class boring. Very hard class but Hartman is very helpful. Quizzes are weekly and online, no time limit. Discussions are every week. There is a midterm and final which were very hard. Great professor though, very organized and wants his students to do well.

This was the hardest class I have ever taken at Santa Fe, and Professor Hartman knows and is very up front with the fact that most people will have to work very hard in the class. As long as you go to him for help, he has no issue helping you out. Quizzes and tests are incredibly difficult. Make sure you keep up.

Hartmann is pretty old school. He talks a lot and uses a chalkboard. He's a little emotional when he lectures, but I mean you need charisma to entertain a class full of college kids. The class was pretty difficult, but I skipped class more than I should've. The key is to do well on your quizzes, but you're gonna NEED to read the text book.

I came into Hadley's class with no interest whatsoever in economics. I am now constantly assessing my actions, and the actions of those around me with the information I learned. Hartman is such a good teacher. He's the reason I changed my major to Economics. I'm currently at UF and I still remember things he's taught me and use it in my upper level Econ classes.

Crazy guy that gets into teaching. You will love or hate his way of teaching, for me it was entertaining and helpful for learning the material. Class is not the easiest but he tells you what you need to know to pass. You have to read the chapters and work for an A. Attendance is 10% of your grade.

He is very spunky. During our midterm, he shook all the students hands. Exams are on campus (mid & final). Weekly discussion question post, 10 question pretest (2 tries, not timed), 15 question quiz (1 try, not times). He is quick to respond to emails, participates in discussions and listens to students. You NEED the book, but not online access.

Great teacher, but makes you work for an A. I am almost finished with his summer A course and I have an 88. If you follow along with lectures, read before class, and do well on the quizzes, you should have no problem pulling at LEAST a B. The ones who do poorly with Hadley are the lazy students. He is very helpful and will gladly make thing clear.

Professor Hartman was probably one of the best professors I have ever had. I had him for Micro for Summer A. He is a very inspirational professor but he is also cut-throat. This is a no BS class. You are expected to read the textbook, come to class, and do any work that he assigns. His lectures are VERY interesting and he is a very fair grader!

Quite literally the best professor I have ever had. He is very informative, replies back to you when you email him, and actually cares if you learned the material or not. He expects you to do your work and make an effort, but if you do he will be by your side through the entire class! TAKE HIM FOR SURE! And reading the ebook is a must.

He is a great professor with entertaining lectures. he has you draw graphs along with him while he's lecturing to keep you focused. The learnsmart program he uses is kind of annoying because 10% of your grade is off homework from there, and it comes with the ebook (I am not a fan of ebooks). Other than having to use an ebook I have no complaints.

Professor Hartman is amazing. He has a sort of "Dead Poet Society" thing about him. He is very knowledgeable and he makes economics actually interesting. You have to read before coming to class, for the love of God learn the graphs, and ask questions, he loves to answer questions.

Hartman is hands down one of my favorite professors. This man made me love studying Econ. Show up to class, do the readings, study for the tests and you're set. Not a phone friendly class but he doesn't mind laptops or tablets. Look forward to taking him again for micro.

Professor Hartman is a great teacher! His lectures are interesting and funny/quirky. Tests are 80% of the final grade (including the final) but he curves all tests to make the average a C which is normally a decent bump. If you study, read and go to class you will do great! Otherwise don't bother.

One quiz a week with 3 test and a final. His test are hard but once you figure out what to study they are easy. Quizzes arnt bad he gives you a week to do it and encourages you to work with other students and most of the answers are online. He has interesting lectures and really loves what he is teaching. So not an easy class but he is very funny.

He's a really good teacher and entheusiastic about economics . Take advantage of his office hours every time you can. He assigns work every week but you have plenty of time to finish them. If you need help on the quizzes, he provides a lot of help in class and in his office. Try not to zone out in class; his lectures are crucial for every test.

Professor Hartman is a great teacher, but not for everyone. You have to be able to pick up things quick, because he teaches at fast paced. He really cares for students and wants them to actually understand the material and apply it in everyday life, not just make a good grade in the class. He likes to make jokes and is quite comical.

Professor Hartman takes economics, a subject usually not that interesting for many students, and turns it into something politically relevant and interesting. His lectures and clear and concise, and he is more than happy to clarify anything that's confusing. Intellectually honest and non-partisan in field far too often politicized. Highly recommend

Hadley is very good at translating the material to the present. Your grade is strictly composed of the homework, the quizzes and the tests (he curves). A lot of people do the online homework and online quizzes without reading and if you don't read, you won't pass. If you read, show up to class, and actively engage, you will pass.

I think he is a good professor! I just don't like that the quizzes and learn smart assignments are only worth 10%and the final is worth 60%. You will have to work for your grade, the class isn't easy but it's not impossible to pass. GOODLUCK!

I couldn't believe people said he didn't help or answer questions, he is extremely willing to help students who want help. The tests are the bulk of the class. Not an easy A but a great teacher.

Best lecturer I've ever had. Didn't just stand there reading off facts, he flew around the room making graphs & examples. He went into detail about things, made sure we understood, and really put emotion into it. The way he presented info made it easy to take organized, useful notes. Mr. Hartman was truly the best econ teacher I've ever had. Sure he's a bit of a fast talker, but I'll be damned if I didn't learn a thing or two in his class. His morning classes aren't bad. Just read the book, do the work, and you'll be fine. Take GOOD notes.

Although this was the hardest class I ever took, Professor Hartman was exceptional in providing real-world examples of the concepts being taught. As an on-line student, he invited me to attend on-campus class when I needed visualization of the material. Lectures are amazing & directly relate to readings. Hilarious & unique. Really quick to answer emails, usually within hours. He is understanding of personal situations to a point but still expects deadlines to be met. Great resource of information and learning. the features of his course is geared for outside thought.

Weekly LearnSmart assignments and quizzes. You also have to post questions in a discussion forum for the week's chapter where it is answered by an "expert," who is a student assigned to that week's chapter to answer everyone else's questions. The exams are considerably more difficult than the other elements of the course.

Uses McGraw Hill guided reading so a lot of what feels like busy work. The midterm and final are two of your biggest grades so make sure you understand the material and you'll do well. Also very responsive when it comes to email, within a few hours.

Mr. Hartman is a nice professor and explains the topics in a really nice and clear nway. However his test are really hard (specially the final, that is 100 questions), you have to study a lot and go to the classes in order to get a good grade. This is a class where you have to be consistent and work hard .

This teacher is passionate about what he is teaching so, when taken in the morning it is difficult to match his energy, but that makes the class more interesting. I took him for micro and will take him again for macro. Attendance is a large part of the grade. Quizzes and textbook are online and they need to be purchased. Requires studying for an A.

By far the best professor I had at SF. If your major is business, finance or economics you should definitely take his coarse with him.. It will be the best preparation coarse for UF. If you go to class and study for exams, you should get a good grade but most importantly you will understand and dominate the subject for the future.

Very energetic guy that moves around the class. Very funny and blunt! Very specific with word choice. Lecture heavy, yet entertaining. HW was pretty easy, just concentrate with the questions. He can make the wording tricky on purpose. You will have to work. If you have a bad attitude he will trash you and explode. He knows his ECON! Love him!

Deeply understands all aspects of Micro/Macro. Engages his students in lectures. If he sees you slacking off, he won't have it, but I actually like that. Two assignments a week, plus two tests that are worth a significant percentage, but truly if you show up, there's no choice but to pay attention. You will pass if you soak up this USEFUL info.

This class is one you have to be diligent in and make sure to keep up with the work in order to stay on track. Weekly Connect assignment and quiz due, along with a discussion post on the chapter. Prof. Hartman is always willing to help you understand concepts and responds in a timely manner.

Very good teacher however, you are graded mainly by 4 tests and they are extremely hard!!!

Fantastic teacher!! He pays attention to what the students are having a hard time with and focuses on that material. Enthusiastic and engaging. He knows how to get through to students who may seem completely lost. Explains things in many ways to help all students understand. And he's hilarious! Cons: No late work, attendance is a grade.

Took his class in 2019. After graduating from UF, I can tell you he is by far the best professor I have ever had. He is very passionate and knowable about econ. Thanks to his class I decided to change for a finance major. If you want to learn take his class, if you want an easy A, look another professor.
