Hafez is an awesome professor and he is knowledgeable at what he teaches, one thing for sure is as the student you are going to have put in the hours outside the classroom to understand the material. Great at giving feedback and is willing to explain in-office hours.
Professor A loves chemistry. He loves to talk about himself, how much work he does, & how great his work is. He will be tough, ask a lot of you, & give few concessions. He rarely admits a mistake & used his power to change the syllabus at will regardless of prior commitments to the class. This class is accelerated + tough.
M/W He knows the subject and wants you to succeed. The course is really dense, lectures are intense. The Material is overall difficult, you end up feeling pretty beat up and bruised by the end. He makes class fun by adding little jokes and stories which really helps! Wish he taught a subject less challenging so we could enjoy his personality more!
He is really organized, really CLEAR of expectations, for example due dates. He communicates via email regularly. offers a lot of office hour help. I would often times find myself using his provided lecture notes during lab class which I had another professor for. If chem is hard for you, take his class!
Overall good teacher, good teaching style. Although when it comes to the online chemistry homework sapping, it isnt the most user friendly and going to all online, and no more physical homework only stressed the HW more. Has amazing lectures, and gives you a copy with blanks to fill in super useful
CHEMV30 MW Explains lecture with great detail but goes really fast at times because there's so much to cover. Available outside of class but he's intimidating to talk to. If you ask him a question he responds in a way that's not approachable like he expects you to already know the material.
Best professor ever ! He gives you EVERYTHING if you fail its your own fault ! Very helpful, dosnt make you feel stupid when asking question !
Chem V20 TTh professor Alawdi is a great professor. He explains everything so well and if you have questions about anything hes there during office hours. You need to need to do the work and attend every class or else you will fail.
CHEMV30 T/TH great proffesor! If you put your time and dedication to this class you will definetly pass!
I took ChemV30 MW class with Professor A. He is a really good teacher knows what he is talking about. The class is a diffcult class you really have to commit time for your homework and to study, but I feel he gives you everything you need to pass. He was really helpful with me. I was pregnant this semester and he helped when I need to change dates.
Chem V30 MW, Professor A is very knowledgeable about the subject and is very available via office hours . If you go to class everyday, do all the assignments, and put in the time to understand/study you can definitely pass with an A/B. Exams aren't long and he gives study guides and practice exams! He's the best, I recommend him for lab too!
Professor A is very strict and explicit about the work he expects. Although seeming to be a tough professor it's all for our own benefit. His heavy homework/workload may be intense, but it does help get a better grasp of the topics discussed in the lecture.
There's a lot of material to be covered and class is fast paced. He will help once you ask for it . Definitely need to set enough time aside to do homework, quizzes and worksheets. Make sure you ace online hw , worksheets and quizzes in order to balance out your grade . Get to know friends to help you with study groups . Best professor ever !! !MW
(ChemV20 T/Th) Professor A is great and he is really into the subject. There is a lot of homework that needs to be done so be there everyday or you will fail the class. He is available during office hours if you are confused on anything. One thing I wish that could help other students is is he slowed down a little more during lectures.
V30 T/Th This class is difficult and exhausting. He sometimes makes changes or extends assignments & it's easy to miss the announcement if you're not checking Canvas > daily. If you miss it, you just miss out. He's an amazing lecturer. I often felt like I was learning against my will but he just kept forcing information into my overwhelmed brain.
CHEM V30 T/TH This is my second time taking this professor. It can be tough at times but as long as you go to class and do all the homework, its possible to understand and pass the class. Hes very helpful and has great lectures.
T/Th Although the class is very demanding, it is doable if you make time for it. The class is structured so each chapter (which roughly takes a week a finish) has an online homework portion that typically takes me a couple hours to complete, a worksheet, and an online quiz. There are extra credit opportunities and as well as lots of office hours.
Professor Alawdi knows the material well and is for the most part fair. The problem I would say is that he is simply too rigid when it comes to deadlines and not empathetic enough for students who have a life outside his class. I found the only way to do well in his class was to give up my life for his class.
The course material is very difficult. There is no way around that. Professor A will give you the tools to succeed. Don't be lazy! Work Hard! CHEM V30 M/W
Professor Alawdi is very passionate about the subject he teaches. This class was very fast paced and difficult however Alawdi wants to see all of his students succeed and is more then welcome to help you out with course material. Tests were straight forward, gave a decent amount of homework. Would recommend Alawdi to anyone! (MW class)
Chem V20 TTh Professor Alawdi thought the class well. The use of the printed PowerPoint and the fill in the blank helped me stay focused during lecture. This also allowed me to keep my notes organized so I could study more easily for the exams. Very heavy on the homework so if you are taking multiple classes other than chem you better make time.
Professor A is the best chemistry professor I've ever had. I've taken various chem classes at UCI and OC, and Professor A tops them all. He's clear, well organized, and breaks things down piece by piece. It's a lot of material but as long as you understand all the slides and do the homework, you'll get A's on the tests. No trick questions.
It would be better in ur class if u reach out professor when u are not sure about lecture
Interesting professor. Very passionate about chemistry. Takes his class and material very serious. Wants students to succeed. Very much a control freak. Took his class in the height of COVID-19, which only fueled him to push his students even harder. Wasn't very forgiving during a stressful time. DO NOT miss assignments; NO make-ups considered
This is the most organized class Ive ever experienced. He has very high expectations from his students but gives you every chance to meet those expectations. Hes not the most approachable guy in my opinion, but hes definitely there if you want to ask questions. Overall challenging but passable.
I really did enjoy Professor A's way of teaching. I was able to grasp alot more of chemistry then I thought I could. However, I felt like he was not able to get ahold of because his office hours were so limited. If you are taking other classes you definetely can't make his office hours for help. I did learn a lot from him.
He is a great professor. I like his teaching style and the way he runs the class (face-to-face and online).
Professor A is very knowledgeable on Chemisrty & works hard making his own curriculum. However, hes not understanding to students circumstances & often will make you feel as though youre not paying attention when asking for help. Show up to class & study or you will not pass. He is a no BS type of Professor. Dont be intimidated. ChemV30 T/TH
CHEMV20, lots of homework and worksheets to keep up on but really not that difficult if you've paid attention during lectures (which are mandatory attendance) and he is accessible in office hours outside class for help on them. Lectures and personality are at least interesting and shows his enthusiasm for the material.
Passionate professor that wants to see you succeed. That being said, the class is very time consuming and leaves little wiggle room for people that procrastinate. As long as you stay on top of all the assignments, an A is definitely achievable.
MW I found his class to be very organized where due dates are always given. It is very lecture heavy and sometimes hard to follow and I feel as if we cant ask any questions because he goes by the slides extremely fast. There are also not enough examples during the lessons.
This course is obviously one of the harder subjects but Professor A makes the lecture so that you want to listen and be engaged. His passion for the subject really shows and it made me interested in wanting to learn.
Great professor, knows the material well and wants students to succeed. Prepare to work hard for your grade in this class. If you have young children, other classes, and or work, I would suggest reaching out to someone who has taken his class so you can fully understand the time commitment involved.
MW Be ready to work, don't plan on missing any class as well as don't be late he will start lecture right at 8:00 am turn in packets at 8:00am if not he will take of a lot points off.
(MW class) Prof. A knows the subject and delivers the material very well. There is a lot of work to do with worksheets, homework, quizzes.. but it all preps you for the tests. He talks a lot about how hard his class is but dont be scared, you can do it! and he reminds you of that all the time, very encouraging and a lovely person
Professor A is extremely passionate about his job and puts a lot of work into his material. I took Chem v30, its not an easy class. At times I found myself getting frustrated by his wording or complaining that he didn't have to make it so hard but ultimately, he cares about his students and wants to push you to be your best.
Professor A is extremely passionate about his job and puts a lot of work into his material. Chem v30, is not an easy class. At times I found myself getting frustrated by his wording or complaining that he didn't have to make it so hard but ultimately, he cares about his students and wants to force you to higher levels of analysis and to LYBL
Professor A tells you straight up from the start that this class is tough and to be prepared for it. There is a ton of work that goes into this course. Professor A has plenty of office hours and is even accessible outside of those hours to help you get through any trouble in the class. You can't slack off or procrastinate. He's awesome but tough.
Good teacher you get what you put in.
If you have the opportunity, take this class!! I had to take this class online during the summer and was nervous about taking chemistry online, but this prof. made the class so organized and his lecture videos were so clear. You have to stay on top of the homework and quizzes for each chapter, but they will definitely prepare you for each exam!!
DO NOT TAKE THIS MAN. just don't do it I promise you it is not worth it. Initially, he seems very organized and laid back. However, if you have an actual life, he is the OPPOSITE of flexible. You better know chem on your own. And you better hand in everything before the due date cause god forbid you have a technical difficulty he will give you a 0.
This man knows EVERYTHING about the subject of Chem without a doubt. Great showing his passion within lectures. However, what you don't learn he wont teach. My grade came from teaching myself because he only talks then refers you back to a chapter to review on your own if you don't understand. NO SYMPATHY for student suggestions. listens& no change
I've taken chem V20 and V1A/lab with Alawdi by far he's very strict and a tough grader, and expecting the best from you always. It's a lot of work to keep up on so don't fall behind and it will be difficult for you to get ahead. I've gotten to known him better and in office hrs must admit he's an okay professor to respect and his teachings.
I took the Chem151H from College of the Canyons and it was really textbook based. Its the same thing every week, same routine. He doesnt grade too harsh, everything is pretty fair. Gets redundant sometimes. Lecture videos can be long
Not gonna lie this class was a lot of work, but Alawdi was a great instructor and made it very clear what we were being graded and tested on and made sure there were no surprises. I reached out to him several times when I was confused about something and he had a quick response and made sure I understood. 100% recommend if you really want to learn!
Overall a great professor. He cares about his students and his work isn't difficult. As long as you do everything you should be fine. He gives you plenty of time to do every assignment. No late work acceptable but is willing to help students when needed.
Everything is straight to the point. I recommend this professor! He is very caring and is accessible to his students. He makes time and wants everyone to succeed. Nothing really heavy, meet once a week and one research paper which he gives you the entire semester to work on.
Super great Professor! I did have difficulties when it came to some chapters but he provides time during lectures and office hours to help out. He also is great if you need to message him if you have any accommodations or have any situations appear. He is very understanding. It may be a little tough but you actually learn in the end.
Great professor over all , work is a little heavy but if you do your work you will get through. Very organized and material / modules online are easy to understand.
Good professor. Wet organized and knows his material , worksheet and quizzes and homework for every chapter. Do your work and you wont fall behind. Other wise your grade will drop.
He knows the material and is enthusiastic about teaching. However, his lectures are way too long and total more time than you would be in class if we were in person. The length of his lectures cause them to be very boring, some were 4 hours. The homework program that is used is pretty difficult and the worksheets take a while to complete.
I took ChemV30. He was overall very respectable and he knows his stuff. He sticks to the syllabus and his lesson plans. If you do not have your assignments turned in on time its on you. Regardless of any life events. The syllabus is truly what he goes by. Overall do your work, never have anything come up during the semester, and youll be fine
class Chem V30 (37). He is very passionate about his teaching profession. If you reach out to him he is definitely always willing to help. And make sure to not procrastinate.
Professor A is an AMAZING chemistry professor. There is quite a bit of homework but if you ask for help hes always there! I overall really enjoyed his class.
Be aware he is probably the toughest chem teacher at VC. His lectures have a lot of information and most of the time I had to get help from another source to better understand it. If you take him online prepare for two hour lectures. No late work and if you turn in something in the wrong way its a zero no expectations.
Very difficult class. You MUST attend office hours and the mandatory meetings in order to understand the topics more, if you don't, good luck teaching yourself.
Professor Alawdi is a good professor. He's very organized and is very passionate about chemistry. For every chapter, there is a worksheet, quiz, discussion, and homework (have to pay for it). He doesn't accept late work unless you have a really good excuse.
Like most normal people I dreaded taking chemistry however Prof A made this class as enjoyable as possible. The class is tough a lot of information to remember but Prof A takes his time to explain the information thoroughly and gives plenty of resources to help you understand and he is available in office hours as well as responsive to emails.
Overall, I really enjoyed taking this class. While I was intimidated to take it due to the fact that I had taken a chemistry course once before this and it was quite tough, this course was very structured to it was pretty easy to to stay on top of assignments. While the lectures are quite long, just do your homework and you will be fine, good luck!
I enjoyed my two semesters with Professor A. This was my most difficult class, but it is to be expected from a rigorous college chemistry class. Youre going to have to prepare to study day and night, but at least youll become a chemistry wiz.
Professor A is a very good a teaching and help you during office hours. You really have to put in the time and effort in order to pass this class! Its one of the toughest course Ive ever took but luckily he was always available to help.
Chem V30 (37) A wonderful organized and caring professor! Very clear of his expectations in the syllabus from day one and is very good about making his office hours available. Please make sure to watch the lecture videos and attend class to pass. There is a lot to cover and learn. Make the time to study youll be glad you did
Chem V30 (37): This class was not an easy one. The lectures were helpful but certain weeks were super heavy with notes. It was hard to receive help outside of office hours.
Chem V30 (37) with Prof. A was not easy but very doable if you dedicate yourself to completing all of the work. He's very well organized and straight forward with the course load ahead of time. You will feel overwhelmed at first specially with how much info some chapters contain but like I said Prof. A is very organized and sets you up for success.
By far the hardest class I have ever taken at Ventura College. Many tears were shed over this class. You cannot get an A without a tutor. There are no other teachers for V30 so just say a prayer and buckle up. Professor A is great for emotional support (you will need it). Very rewarding to get the grade you worked for. Advice: go to office hours!
chem V30 is a really hard course. Professor A gives intense lectures sometimes they are four hour long lectures but they are very useful for your homework! I recommend taking for lab as well! You only have two test for the whole semester but you have quizzes every week!
Chemistry v30 is an extreme information overload type of class and it requires a lot of your time. Professor A tries to break it down to be as easily understood as possible though. I enjoyed his recorded lectures and his sense of humor. I was completely overwhelmed by this class at the start of semester but it does get easier. Attend office hours!
Great instructor and class. I took Alawdi's Elementary Chemistry course last semester and I resorted back to him because he's that good at what he does. Yes, the class is hard but do not let that scare you away. Lecture heavy (but oddly entertaining), weekly homework (must pay for use), and weekly worksheets. MUST put the effort in to do well.
This class was difficult but professor made it understandable. The lectures could be long to get through but he throws jokes into the lectures. Only 2 exams not weighed heavily but tons of assignments instead. Felt like I was trying to keep up with the assignments that were due each week. Would take him again I learned a lot!
Nice man, knows his chemistry but God forbid we have a life. He does not let anything slide. In one week we get a 2-3 hour lecture to watch, which can sometimes be a little confusing to follow, 2-4 page wrksht, 20 hw questions, quiz, & a discussion. And this is not including your lab assignments. If you want a challenge this is your guy.
V30-(37) I would NOT take him again. He is definitely a stickler for the work, and is a tough grader. He does not allow late work, NO EXCEPTIONS. Throughout his course, i found him to be pretty careless towards his students. The workload is extreme, its like having a second full time job, prepare yourself. Good luck, find another prof.
CHEMV30-(37) Professor knows his stuff and is very organized, be ready to work. Course comes along with a lot of work each chapter consists of a worksheet , online homework through a horrible program! Quizzes every chapter. The lab class is a lot of work. Grading system is very particular. If you dont do the work you wont pass the class.
This class is not an easy class, Neither is this prof. While he Is a nice man he gives ALOT of work but I will say the work is NEEDED to fully grasp the concepts. The quizzes sometimes had things on it I never learned so that could change. The sapling was very confusing at times. The start was awful but overtime it got easier to understand. 7/10
Professor Alawdi is a great teacher for online classes, but you need to stay on top of the work. His class consists of lectures that you must watch on your own time and he expects you to complete all of the work on time. It's a lot of work, but it's all the same criteria each week so it should be easy to pass. However, he never gave good feedback.
I guess I took this class at a good time because I did not have a life. I lived and breathed chemistry. Pandemic allowed me to find the time to dedicate to this course otherwise I would not have succeeded. Please make sure you have the time before taking this class. A LOT of work.
Professor is nice just strict with turning in work. Hw mostly is graded off of effort. This is a tough class with a lot of info given to you at once. The homework website that you have to buy is so bad, especially since we were given no guidance on how to properly use it. Sometimes it took me 2hrs to finish. It is a very time-consuming class.
To all you upcoming students that will be taking this course I'll give you some advice get ready to put in the work, but just know that professor is here for you. He really cares for his students and goes out of his ways to be accessible outside of his class. All of his assignments are very straight forward and he does a very good job covering them
Lab was terrible, prof A uses beyond labs and labster which run very slow. Lectures are not bad at all. Strongly recommend to watch lecture videos
CHEMV30 (37) Professor A makes you work for your grade. There is no late work but you do get a week to complete your assignments. He also has office hours four times a week to help students. Grading is fair because each student gets equal opportunities to participate, ask questions, and complete work. If you study hard you will learn a lot!
This class was for Chem V30(37). Professor Alawid is great! He is really caring and wants everyone to succeed especially through these rough times. You need to make sure you put in the effort and work into his class because it is a difficult chemistry class. Be prepared for long lectures, but it's recorded! You can go back and rewatch it if needed.
(Chem V30 (37)) Professor A is a solid choice for Chem V30. His lectures are lengthy(1 -3 hours) and the homework can be heavy too(a worksheet, online homework, discussion post and quiz). However, very organized and accessible professor, and as long as you attend the office hours, he will do everything he can to help you pass the class.
He is a very dedicated teacher. Lectures are lengthy but all the information needed is in it. The modules are extremely organized and the same thing every week so it is very nice to know what to expect each week. I would take him again.
Professor A is pretty Awesome, his class is well organized, and strait forward. However this is a hard class, I have never put in so much work for a class, He is a great ambassador for this class. He definitely made me a better student, and I feel he helped prepare me for nursing school...(37)
ChemV30(37). Professor A is a pretty good teacher, really passionate about what he does. But with that comes a lot of information you need to know. The lectures are really long and can be a little frustrating. The homework you do is on sapling which can be pretty difficult, but Prof. A has a lot of office hours that you can attend to. Very helpful!
If you were to ask me a few weeks ago how I felt I would probably leave a better review. However the last few chapters of this semester I felt as if the teaching lacked and it was more just presentation. If you can not make it to office hours you are on your own. 2020 sucked and virtually learning and teaching yourself also sucks.
Watching the lecture videos helped, but they could be very lengthy. Sometimes I had trouble with Sapling (homework) because you would make a small error and it would get the whole question wrong. Especially in drawing the structures.
Chem V30 (37)This class is tough. the lectures are very long and can be boring. So much information you need to know in order to do the worksheets, homework, and quizzes. But at least he gives us a whole week to finish them. Overall Professor A is a good teacher! You just really need to focus and get your assignments done on time! No late work!
Professor Alawdis class is hard, you need to work to get your grade. He grades really tough even when chemistry is a hard subject to learn about he still does not give you enough points for trying. I completed this worksheet all as best as I could and got a 60/100. But overall chem is hard especially when it reflects a lot on the professor.
Chem V30(37) Very sweet teacher and passionate about what he does which makes it more enjoyable. Lectures are a bit long, but he makes himself clear so that we understand and is also available outside of class. Hours of homework every week, and no late work which is understandable but frustrating. Challenging course, but I learned a lot:)
Chem V30- 37 Professor A is a caring and organized professor who makes no qualms about the difficulty of his class. Go to the office hours- they really do make a difference!- and don't be afraid to ask questions. Lots of homework and lectures can be up to 3 hours long, but again, he's available to help with any and all Chem questions. Best of luck!
The class itself was difficult but he tries to explain things as best as possible. No late work and a lot of homework and quizzes but if you do them all you be fine. Not much to it but overall nice professor but a difficult class.
Chemistry is VERY hard! Professor A is VERY by the book and makes absolutely zero exceptions to help you along the way. I think that he and his class may be a little better if you were not basically teaching yourself at home during a pandemic. He is very responsive to emails however he' not willing to work with you if anything in life comes at you.
Chemistry is hard in general so you have to work for it, I just wish he didnt grade rough. When people really try and they give you a bad grade. I tried so hard for my grade hopefully I get at least a B.
Chemistry is a tough class especially coming from a professor that grades rough. Ive had chemistry class before but our professor gave us enough points for trying. I did a mistake on a homework assignment and got the whole question wrong. I hope I end with a good grade in this class. But overall is great with communication.
All I have to say is great professor but should be a bit more flexible with grading but overall clear criteria. Chemistry is not easy so studying is a must.
V30 (37) I was scared to take Chemistry, but Professor Alawdi helped make this semester positive during a difficult time in everyone's lives. Yes, you will need to really STUDY and do ALL HOMEWORK assignments and labs. Be ready to work hard and I highly recommend freshening up on your math prior to this class!
This class was 1 of 4 classes I took this semester. It difficult but it was passable as long as you did the work. There was a lot of work and it was time consuming but Professor A was a good choice.
Amazing Professor!, Made this semester a lot more positive during a hard time in everyone's lives due to a Pandemic. Be ready to work hard and brush up on your math skills prior to class. Complete all Homework assignments and labs and you'll be fine! Show up!
Great professor, is flexible with work but should be a bit more flexible with grading especially during this online transitioning. Overall great class.
I was scared at the beginning to take this class but as long as you read all your chapter lectures, study for exams you should be fine. Chemistry is a hard subject so dont expect to skip assignments and pass, I just feel he just needs to be an easier grader with worksheets. Overal great class
Let me just start off that I really like his lecture videos they are very self explanatory and he is very organized, yes he can be a rough grader which he should be a more flexible with it but besides it just work for your grade. Chemistry is a hard subject but just ask for help when needed
Professor A.'s class is by no means easy work from the start, but he does an amazing job with his lectures which include many clear examples that go perfectly with the worksheets and make it easier to understand the many concepts that you will go over. The worksheets have quite a bit of work but with his help you will zoom right through it all.
Great professor! But please work for your grade its a good advice to everybody. Besides that do homework and worksheets and you should be fine. Was scared at first to take Chem but realized you just have to put in your effort
ChemV30-37 Prof A is a skilled instructor. He invests in student wellbeing and success, this is not to say he is soft. He is strict with grading and syllabus policies but provides tools for success-good lectures, notes, available for many office hours which are essential to do well. I learned and feel I got educated in addition to a grade
I found the class to be challenging but the way the assignments and quizzes were organized made it much better. What I found challenging was completing all the assignments on time. As long as you manage your time, the class won't be as challenging. The professor is also overall kind and caring.
I found the class to be challenging but the way the assignments and quizzes were organized made it much better. What I found challenging was completing all the assignments on time. As long as you manage your time, the class won't be as challenging.
Class CHEM V30 (37). Prof A is very caring of his students. Lectures are very clear and detailed. The class work is tough but there is plenty of resources given to learn the material. Prof A explains in great detail the material, he is available for help in lecture, extended office hours as well as responds quickly through email. Highly recommend.
I was very nervous about taking chemistry class, but Professor A made it interesting, fun, and comfortable. You do need to stay on top of lectures and hw, it is doable. He is always available to answer any questions. I highly recommend!
Chemistry is a difficult subject but is manageable. Professor A is great with being available outside of class hours. If you need the extra help it is available. Although, it is challenging and plenty of work load every week. You need time and dedication to get through this course
The first 3/4th of the class is great, the last 1/4th he will assign material that he hasn't taught, good luck with that bit.
Online class. Same load of homework each week. (It can be a lot to handle if you are taking multiple online classes.) The lecture format consisted of the professor reading from power-points without showing his face. This, I feel, creates a disconnect right away at least in terms of lecture. Has office hours over zoom with a webcam and is helpful.
He was one of the best teachers I have had yet!! Very knowledgeable and relatable. He was easily accessible as well when I needed extra help.
If you want to learn chemistry, this isnt the class for you. It was kind of easy to get a good grade, definitely easy to pass, but hard to learn. He doesnt grade the worksheets fair and the worksheet questions are much harder than he teaches. The content you learn in lecture doesnt properly line up with lab if you take them at the same time.
I did extremely well in my previous chem class but this one made me hate the subject. I don't learn well with his teaching style and his lectures are extremely long. Sometimes worksheets and tests have problems that don't coincide with what we saw in the lecture. I felt like he made the subject harder than it needs to be honestly :/
Prof A. lectures are extremely heavy like Im talking about 3 hours long heavy, the most was 4 hours. His worksheets are not just a page or two, it would be 4 pages and up, the most was 9 pages. Quizzes are not that hard. The class started to get a lot more easier towards the end. He offers a lot of office hours and helps a lot.
This class really makes you work for your grade however though he is a strict professor he is amazing at going over course work, he works well with making sure his students succeed but is very strict on turning in assignments on time (he does not accept late work )
Professor A is very kind and approachable but often throughout our zoom lectures would tell the class to reference previous chapters or look back at other slides rather than revisiting the material (which was a challenge). The questions on the final were very convoluted which was difficult to navigate. Did offer extra credit and dropped low scores!
The first half I felt very confident and was learning a lot. Come the mid term everyone was thrown a curve ball! I had to use a zoom tutor and YouTube videos to really grasp certain contexts as I don't feel they were explained enough in lecture videos. Felt when I would ask questions in class it was always refer to the lecture video. Good luck!
This class is hard but so is any chem class. Just keep up with assignments and you will be fine. He is pretty funny and easygoing. I cant stress enough that you will be okay in his class as long as you stay on top of the work load.
I recommend taking this class with Professor Alawdi! He is committed to helping his students pass his class by going over the HW problems during class and giving us printable lecture slide shows. It may seem like a lot of work but if you plan out accordingly and organize yourself, you'll be just fine. I also suggest going to Off. Hrs. it's helpful.
CHEMV30 - 32150 This class is not an easy A but it is possible. Watch the lecture videos! Do the quizzes and homework as soon as it opens. Gives you about a week to complete. And I recommend going to his lectures & office hours for help on homework/ worksheets. He is a very caring professor and will responds to you emails as soon as he can.
I took the chemistry accelerated class. This was very fast past and you learn a new lessons every week. Chem is very challenging already but he allows you to visit office hours and provides lecture videos days before you begin learning about the new lesson which is helpful! This a very class hard class but doable! He is very nice and responds fast!
In order to pass the course you will have to stay on top of all the work and due dates. The lectures are long but the class is manageable with proper time management. You definitely have to work for your grade in this class.
Good professor! Material is understandable if you keep up with the class.
The course is well-organized. The material is clearly presented and consistent format. The online course offers weekly video lectures w/ printable student version pdf w/fill-in the blanks designed to aide the learning process (no credit :-/: Yet worth time invested). Student Centered flexibility needs improvement....... Beware: Deadlines: STRICT!
Professor A is such an amazing professor. Chem is difficult regardless but Prof A makes it the best he can. I wish I had him in person because online class is not my thing but this was a very enjoyable class. You can tell he really cares about the success of his students & is very passionate about Chemistry which makes learning easier.
This course is not meant to be easy, but you have to put in the effort. I think the most difficult part of this class is that most of the material is straight forward, while the quizzes, exams, etc. are a bit choppy with the material. Professor A is a funny and caring Professor, but could be more personable.
Awesome, compassionate person. Lectures are comprehensive/ easy to follow. Challenging in a fun and exciting way.
This class is not easy, but Professor A makes it easy to digest. He let us know at the beginning of the semester that the class WILL require you to put in time. However, it is very organized and structured, so you know exactly what to anticipate every week. You can tell Professor A cares deeply about his subject and his students alike.
Professor Alawdi lets you know what is due each week. Work on assignments as soon as they open! The only downside was he does not budge with late assignments. A lot of us work and have families but he isn't very lenient at all! Beware of due dates.
This class being asynchronous during a pandemic was challenging. I feel of we were in a classroom setting things wouldnt have been as challenging. If you have the time to dedicate about 12-14 hours a week to this class then a B is feasible. You have to work for it, its multiple chemistry classes compressed into one.
The video lectures are very long and the content is difficult to follow and take notes at the same time. Very helpful if you print his student version for notes. Gradingfair. Homework is time consuming. His passion for Chem shows in zoom classes and he really wants us to learn. Was my 3rd & last attempt at Chem and finally got thru it w his help.
Professor is kind and funny and respects his students and wants you to succeed. You must put in the work, it is a very challenging class in my opinion. It will require you to spend about 15 hours a week worth of effort to review lectures, complete homework worksheet assignments, sappling assignments and quizzes. There is no excuses for late work.
Mr. A is a tough grader, but I did realize it is a tough subject especially those trying to get into the health department. I really liked taking him online because watching the lectures and reading the book and notes he provides helps. He is very self-discipline and keeps his word. Make sure your ready to learn and commit to this class.
Professor A is a pleasant instructor during his lecture and provides helpful information such as lecture slide notes but definitely still a very challenging class.
Taking V30 during COVID has its perks. Lab & lecture are online. Lecture every week is posted as a slideshow w/ voice over. A homework assignment, quiz & worksheet weekly. Dont wait until the last minute to do the work. Lecture online hours & office hours are to review & ask questions. Start early w/ doing the work. Highly recommend!
professor alawdi was a really good professor in my choice.. this is a chemistry class so don't expect an easy A, you have to put in the work. He really only grades a worksheet quiz and homework so put in your best effort. And go to office hours, he really clears up questions and helps you out. And he makes a lot of dad jokes!
Be ready to have to work hard for you grade. He drops some of your lowest grades which helps.
Professor A is great. Chemistry is a heavy subject but Professor A is always willing to help you out during his office hours.
You must do the work if you want to pass. Although homework is, somewhat, heavy, it is useful for the weekly, midterm and final exams. He likes you to really work for your grade and is fair when grading. Will drop lowest at the end of the semester, and no make up work allowed. Chem V30 (31510)
Be ready to dedicate at bare minimum 10 hours a week to this course. Lectures are long and confusing at times. Must be willing to work to get a good grade it's easy to fall behind
Be ready to work and learn a bunch of information that you will have to pray to the Gods to understand. Best of luck!
Definitely a tough class but hopefully worth it
Chem V30 (32150) Professor A is committed professional. He puts many hours into preparing his lectures and other coursework. He's tough and sets firm boundaries on what to expect in the course. This is no easy A, you'll be putting in real hours on the subject matter. My only gripe about the course is I put in sooooo many more hours than I expected.
Professor A genuinely cares about making connections with his students. Your success matters to him, your questions matter to him, your engagement matters to him. The content is difficult, which you should already know if youre considering this class. Worksheets will help you understand content. Overall he enjoys what he does and if shows :)
This was my first chemistry class and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Yes chemistry is hard but if you take time to watch the lecture videos (as this was an online class), study and actually read the textbook, a passing grade is almost guaranteed! I would definitely take him again for a future chemistry class. CRN: 32150
ChemV30(31510)The professor did his best considering this class was forced to be online. He tried to provide us with the necessary tools to complete this course. However, his assignments and their due dates (schedule) were demanding and at times confusing. I wonder if we were in a class setting, would it have been more comprehensible.
The lecture can be sometimes so long the maximum for the lecture can be about 3 hours depending on the assignment. The homework is alright, but sometimes it can get confusing.
CHEMV30 31510 Professor A is a great professor, there when you need help and always willing to answer questions! I would definitely recommend his class!
chem (31510) The professor give us student version of his lecture which is good so we can be able to go back to them. I get that it is an online class and how we are suppose to turn in everything on time. Would I recommend this class.. well probably, If you are ready for a challenge.
Very difficult course! Although professor Hafez was always willing to help understand the material.
Prof Alawdi cares abt chemistry & students. Good & organized teacher but class is very tough, demanding & there was no indication it was accelerated when registering. The prof is not always fair grader & at times seems to make class & tests more challenging than necessary. This level of difficulty would make more sense for Chem majors.
Extremely tough course for being fully online, especially during a devastating pandemic. Professor Hafez was very helpful during Zoom lecture between and after zoom. If you struggle with new material then of course this class will be difficult, try your best and pray you pass with a C average.
Professor Alawdi is amazing and definitely knows his stuff. He is very helpful and wants you all to succeed, cares a lot about his students and makes lectures fun. The class overall is a tough one. So much information so make sure to attend each class as missing even one may set you back. I would definitely take him again if the opportunity arose.
I thought this class would be an easy A. I was sooo wrong. You must really dedicate time to get a good grade. He provides you all the tools to succeed. He is strict in how he wants you to turn things in which was pretty annoying.
I'm getting a high grade but devoted 15-20 hrs/wk for an introductory chem course. Very inflexible. Tries to trick you on tests/quizzes. Passionate about chem, friendly. Made promise about extra credit, only to renege after requirements were met. Writing this rating is new EC. You decide ethicality. Lectures are 2-4 hours, convoluted, wordy. Avoid.
Professor A is amazing. Hes fair and clear about his expectations. Hes helpful, passionate about what he teaches, and breaks the material down in a way that is easy to comprehend. I defiantly recommend taking his class!
Professor A is definitely passionate about chemistry. Hes a tough grade but Id rather learn the material than get an easy A. He does not accept late work and offers extra credit. Office hours are only in the am and hard to attend when you work but, hes accessible via email (response time 1-3 hours). Worth the challenge!
crn 32150 must attend lectures and complete all assignments in order to obtain a good grade. good feedback.
Incredibly harsh grading. BUY the textbook- he will say you wont need it but will base quiz questions on it. Expect to put in more than 12-20 hours per week and still not understand. Very convoluted. Will promise EC but not come through. Will offer support and not be give it. Will trick you with test/quiz questions.
A tough class and he is hard on grading.
Chem is hard but when lectures are super long and too wordy it makes it even harder. Unrealistic with testing when it comes to time allowed for number of questions. Offers zero to no extra credit at all. Very hard to keep an A if you have a job and family. Unrealistic.
Hes very passionate about teaching and will answer to your emails 1 or 3 after you emailed him. However he doesnt accept late work for any reason, gives you 2 attempts for the quizzes but is muted and doesnt release your grade until a few days later. For the midterm and final I really wished he gave us 1 exam with enough time to complete it.
Prof A is very passionate about chemistry. But if youre a returning student (been out of school for 3+ years), Id suggest taking an in person class. The online lecture quizzes were tricky and unnecessary. The online homework and worksheet were good since he is willing to help. He doesnt provide a specific study guide for the mid-term or final.
ChemV30 32150 Hes an excellent teacher and really knows the material. You have to put in the work to understand the class He wants to see his students succeed, hes patient and happy to explain in depth
This is the hardest and most time consuming class I have taken. I put in so many hours to understand, even utilized a tutor. Not very clear on how he wants things done until he shows you how wants them done. Get ready to teach yourself.
A passing grade is attainable as long as you complete all of your work. Take advantage of the textbook, it will really help you get a better understanding!
Professor is very formal. Explains everting in depth and is a huge help when needed. I enjoyed his class although it was difficult for me to comprehend at times I asked questions and did my best!
okay class
From day 1 Professor A lets you know what he expects of people and repeats it throughout the semester. He is very down to earth and understanding, yet he does not take excuses for your work not being done. The work he give is tough but doable and he makes himself available a few times a week for office hours which I have done many times.
Caring Professor, passionate about what he teaches and answers any questions you may have (always available for office hours). Online hw, a worksheet, and a quiz due every week. If you dedicate enough time to this class you will receive a passing grade.
If you do show to class you wont pass. You need to be prepared to do a lot of homework and prepare for the test. All HW is though sampling and in certain chapters its very hard to use. Also the finally was through there and was very difficult. Besides doing home there worksheets to do each week. Be prepared to give it feedback and help
professorA is very straight forward of what he is requiring of you as a student from the very beginning. He does not accept any late work at all, but in return will drop 1 lowest quiz, Worksheet, and homework assignment. He is very heavy in lecture and demanding on work through out the week. tough class pay attention Chem V30 (32146) very organize
Chem V30 (32146) Go to class, watch the lecture videos , and ask for help when needed, youll pass the class easily.
Professor Alawdi class is challenging, so be ready for the time commitment. But he is always available in office hours for extra help, so you should take advantage of this! He is very helpfully & kind when it comes to explaining things from the homework & worksheets. He truthfully does want you to pass!
There is a lot of work to be done during the week to include worksheets, homework, and watching pre recorded lecture videos in addition to zoom lecture. Some of the videos were over 4 hours total. With that said, professor Alawdi sets clear guidelines and grading criteria as well as announcements. No surprises, and he is always at office hours.
Amazing chem professor!! He made the class clear and understanding. Weekly homework and quiz due at the end of the week and 2 exams. Put in enough work and time into this class and you will succeed. Dont slack off or you will not pass. Deadlines are strict. I recommend.
This class is definitely challenging however, as long as you are willing to do all the work and put a solid amount of effort into the class you will do well. If I was unsure on a concept or needed extra explaining I could go to his office hours and Professor A would help me gladly. He was always able to clear up any questions I had.
Professor A was great, accessible and prompt with any questions sent via email. The subject matter is heavy but his thorough lecture "notes" combined with his detailed lecture videos were EXTREMELY helpful. If you go in knowing this class requires effort and you apply yourself he will support you all the way!
Awesome professor. He will not make you feel overwhelmed with online classes. I wish I took his class in person, he seems to be a great teacher.
The class has heavy lectures from Professor A. but they are very helpful for students. Professor A. truly sets up his students for success, if that is what the student wants and strives for! I would recommend that students do not buy the book he asks you to buy at the beginning of the course because he sums up the book in the student slides.
Great overall professor as he is very informative and clear on what u need for a good grade in the class
Not solely based on exams, it is mixed between WS, which is based on effort, not the correct answers, HW which gives multiple attempts at the questions, and quizzes that are typically easier than the homework and worksheet. He is strict on due dates, no late assignments, but drops the lowest HW/WS/Quiz. He posts lecture videos for class, you listen
I would definitely recommend taking this class or any class with this Professor as I would do so again myself. Very important to attend zooms/class and review the lecture notes before doing the homework. Everything is layed out very nicely and the work is in the same format and straight forward each week so your never left wondering what to do next
Professor Alawdi is a really good professor. His class was very organized; the best I've seen from any of my professors throughout this season of online schooling. The material in the class is tough, but he is very clear in what he expects of his students and there is lots of opportunity to as for help. Highly recommend!
Professor A was awesome! He has out lecture notes for students (less writing!) and lays out worksheet fairly well during lectures. There are some difficulties understanding some, which I recommend O.H. Instead of tutors. He laughs at his own jokes which is great, and he values participation immensely! Easy to communicate with as well :)
This class is very organized & straightforward. Watch lectures before the class meeting or you will be behind. Lectures can be pretty heavy but are detailed and you don't need to read the textbook if you watch them all and use the skeletal notes. No late work but he drops lowest assignments at the end. Overall easy to pass if you put in the time!
This is a relatively difficult class with a lot to pay attention to. Luckily, this professor also gives a lot of resources to make sure you pass, including information sheets, summaries of things you need to know for the exams, answer keys, etc. Pay attention well and do diligent work, and you're sure to make it.
Professor A is very organized and ensures his students receive enough practice of the material, by providing worksheets and sapling practice problems before the quizzes and midterms. In addition, mandatory lectures are held, and it gives students the opportunity to ask questions about the problems, followed by office hours right after!
I was incredibly nervous to take this class, but this class brought out a new love for chemistry and Prof. A truly took the time to help me love chem. Although his lectures are very long, they are extremely detailed making it possible to succeed. He gives good feedback, and still makes his class a fun environment despite it being completely online.
lectures were wordy, difficult to understand, and made everything more complicated than it needed to be. Said he would give ec for using cameras then says he's not going to on the last day of class. really made me dislike chemistry, which was one of my favorites the previous semester. seems like a nice guy but would not recommend his class at all!!
Watching the lectures and doing your work is very important if you want to pass. He provides his students with office hours and also the scheduled zoom meetings to get help on homework or the worksheets. One downside was having to learn new material the week before an exam and then having that show up on the exam. He was a very strict professor.
Only give you a few assignments a week, but they can be hard at times and take a good amount of your time. Always good to start early with the work. Also a cool thing he never gave work during the week you had an exam for his class.
Very strict class. For the people that have difficulty learning online, I wouldn't take this course. Very heavy and long lectures, both asynchronous and synchronous. Also procrastination is not an option since it's very difficult to get by. Weekly homework and W.S.s. You have to put a lot of hours or else you won't pass. Prof. is chill however.
Great Professor, long lecture videos but very informational. Hes available outside of class but strict on deadlines and doesnt allow you to make up for it.
This class definitely tested me, lecture videos are pretty long. I enjoyed Chemistry, however, this class is ALOT of work. I took professor A for lecture and lab, one thing I strongly disliked about lab is how we didn't have enough time for lab assignments. Class was over at 12:20, I worked from 1-9 and lab assignments were due at 10 pm. It sucked
Overall I actually really enjoyed how this class went and how it is structured. I feel achieved for actually learning the information taught in this course. I would say it is a little strict but there is a routine to follow and it's the same every week, so it's pretty easy to follow and keep track of where you are and what you need to do.
Chem V30 (32146) Professor Alawdi is a great professor, his class of very organized and his dead lines are strict and he expects you to be prepared before every zoom. The only downside i would say is that his powerpoint presentations are extremely long and he uses many bright colors that my printer does not recognize making it difficult to complete
Professor Hafez was not the professor I wanted, he was the one I needed. I wanted an easy class, but instead I got a teacher who genuinely cares about your education and wants you to learn the material. If it wasn't for his style of teaching, I don't know if I would have passed the TEAS test. He will make you work for it, but it's not impossible.
Professor A is great! The way his class is set it makes it super easy to get your stuff done and turned in on time. His lecture videos are very helpful and informative, and although they're a bit lengthy I think they have to be in order for you to understand the material. He doesn't hesitate to explain things further when you don't understand.
Prof Alawdi is very clear about his expectations from day one. He does not allow any make up work, but drops some assignments at the end to accommodate. There is A LOT of information in this class and you have to attend the zooms/watch lectures. He's great at explaining concepts and gives plenty of resources for each chapter.
As long as you do your work early and attend office hours, you'll do great! All of his assignments were fair! A really caring professor you won't regret taking him.
Professor A is a great instructor. HIs lecture videos are long but they are very helpful. If you pay attention during the meetings and watch the lecture videos the class shouldn't be all that difficult. The good thing is if you do mess up on a quiz, assignment, and homework he'll drop the lowest one form each three.
I do really like this professor because it obvious he really cares for his students and is willing to answer any questions with the "no question is a stupid question" attitude. The class was very heavy and leaned more on the students ability to manage schedules and fit in the large workload rather than having interactive lectures.
At the beginning of class we were told we would get extra credit for having our cameras on and at the end of the course he stated that he cant give us extra credit for that. He does not except late work, he does not take excuses, and assignments are not all available at the same time. This is not the most online friendly course to take if you work
Loved his class it was online. We had mandatory zoom meetings were he help answer worksheet questions and answered any questions we had. He was very helpful. If you plan to take this class be prepared to study the material can be hard watch the lecture videos, and do the slide worksheets.
The class is easy if you actually pay attention and understand the material, he is a great teacher and tries to make sure you understand all the material. The class has weekly worksheets , weekly lecture videos, that are uploaded to Youtube, weekly homework and weekly quizzes. I highly recommend Professor A, amazing teacher!
Wonderful professor. Best advice to coming students though is please study! He's a very caring teacher who loves what he does and is there to help you out. The homework can be daunting at times but don't give up! He held multiple chances for office hours and was always there for students when needed. I'd take him again if the chance ever came up!
I found Professor Alwadi to be a very solid teacher. He knows all the material like the back of his hand, so if you have questions, never be afraid to ask. He will always have a good answer. His class was super organized and easy to follow. Worksheets and homework are relatively easy, quizzes and exams require deeper studying.
Professor A puts a lot of work into this class and expects the same from his students. He provides everything you need to do well and is available to help. He is a very nice guy and funny, so that helps to stay motivated. Lectures are long and homework is time consuming, but if you put in the work, you will learn a lot and do well in the class.
Class is set up for nonworking adults, holds students at a high standard. Don't believe anything he says regarding extra credit or midterm/final instructions. If you learn to ignore his sense of humor, passive-aggressiveness, or at times condescending remarks and do the work as he requests, you will pass.
The class was amazing. I took Chemistry in sophomore year of high school, so I was a little rusty, but I felt prepared for his class. I printed his lecture notes/slides every week and watched the lecture videos. His tests are hard, he gives you 30 minutes to do 20 questions. I was always rushed to finish his tests of time. I wish he taught Chem 1b
I took professor A a couple years back and he is still by far my favorite teacher, it was also one of the hardest classes i have taken (and i have a BS already). He is an awesome teacher, when we would have puzzled faces he would stop and say " i can do better, i can explain this better". I would take him again!
Incredible professor, but you have to apply yourself. you will NOT pass if you slack off in this class. Go to lectures, watch the provided videos, read the textbook. DO NOT PROCRASTINATE. Late work is never accepted and excuses aren't either. Work hard, get a good grade. Always attend office hours, get to know the teacher before making assumptions.
Get ready to pound payment with Professor A. If youre not well-versed with math or statistics or formulas make sure you are knowledgeable in that area before you take his class. We are currently in chapter 5 and I am struggling. He will offer outside hours so take advantage of it. His weekly quizzes is what you really need to study for in order to
Prof is understanding and has a good personality. Attendance was mandatory. LONG lecture videos that have to be played in normal speed (2 hrs/week). Expects you to watch before class. The tests are not that hard if you study. Weekly worksheet, online interactive homework, and multiple choice quiz. Lots of work but it helps digest and keep the info
Professor Alawdi was a decent professor. His main strength as a professor was his organization. However he was lacking in other important aspects that would help students succeed at a higher rate.
If you're taking Chem V01 for a prereq steer clear of this professor. He was decent but if your not a fan of chem you'll have a terrible time in his class. He gives homework through a website and then a packet for each chapter. He has you do problems his way (which are harder and longer) or else they're wrong and you'll lose points. 2/10
He's really understanding does not accept late work or give extra credit but drops your lowest assignment from each category which raises your grade at least 5% lecture heavy, but provides good notes and outlines.I recommend going to lectures in person because its easier to grasp the information when he is in front of you.
hands down the worst teacher ever, I recommend taking anyone else but him, never had such a horrible experience with a teacher...
Professor A was incredibly intimating at first, lots of students dropped the course during our first week. After having him for a couple of weeks I've noticed that he gives difficult homework which makes his quizzes "easier", he's the type to give that tough love, like overwhelming you with work but is open and there to help.
Each chapter had a presentation and a student version that had blanks that we had to fill in. Each chapter also had its set of homework questions and a quiz. The homework was on a different website. There's a total of four exams and an optional final. To be honest his class was only hard because it was a condensed summer course.
Pay attention in the lectures to be able to do the homework & quizzes (both online, 1 for each chapter). He does a great job at explaining and if you need help don't be afraid to ask. His exams are pretty difficult (total of 4 all semester and an optional final) and is very strict with deadlines so pay attention to that.
V21L- There are quizzes after some labs and a pre-lab, an in-lab, and a post-lab for all labs. He does grade lab results (so you are kinda forced to have to get them right) but if you ever need help he will be right there to assist you. Some labs are partnered, some solo but overall it's a good/easy class. You do have to buy certain materials tho.
Great guy, very tough course but I learned a lot.
He is an amazing instructor and does care about the success of his students. Class is lecture heavy with many examples solved in class. Each chapter has a HW assignment and a quiz. There are 4 exams. You can replace the lowest exam at the end of the semester by taking a replacement exam. Also, he drops the lowest score HW and the lowest score quiz.
If you did ok in high school chem then you should be fine in his class. But beware that exams make a huge chunk of your grade... You can also tell he's a real G when you hear his life stories... Over great professor :)
I would not recommend him. I wish he was more understanding that not everyone learns as fast as he does. He expects so much out of his students yet offers little help. Would not take again
This class has been the hardest. Be ready to work day/night for your grade. Professor A is really fast in lectures and you will end up having to go to tutoring/ asking for extra help from anywhere you can to pass his class. If you have not taken any chemistry courses you will struggle. Good luck! Do not take this class lightly!
Professor Alawdi can come off intimidating at first, but he is willing to help and reach out to his students. The lectures go by fast, only got 1 hr and 15 mins to cover 30-50 slides of lectures. If you slack, you will not pass. I was fighting for my life in the organic chem unit. Tutoring, His office hours, and forming a study group is a MUST.
Honestly this class was one of the hardest I have taken & this subject is no joke. Professor Alawdi is cool & provided good feedback sometimes. You definitely can't miss a class or it'll be hard to catch up. I go to school full time & work full time & was still able to get a passing grade but I had to put a lot of hours in. Don't procrastinate!!!
ChemV30 M/W Professor A gives good detailed lectures and uses good examples to help you understand and can be funny. The class itself is not hard there's just a lot of information to learn. He tells you everything as is. If you want to pass this class you MUST show up to class and study, you can't afford to miss any lectures or assignments.
Professor A is good at teaching and knows his materials. Grading: 60% from exams, 30% HW, 10% quizzes. Bear in mind that there is a lot of information and it takes time to study if you want to do well. Prepare $30ish for the homework account. He loves his students to participate so answer his questions if you can! Great professor overall. Take him!
This course requires your time and effort but it is manageable. I appreciate how well-organized his lectures are and the premade notes that are available to follow along with lecture. Although it is a heavy course, he is available for office hours and is always willing to explain any questions you may have.
Although this was a very tough class I really enjoyed him as a professor, had the best dad jokes and was always there to help. You can fall behind quickly but if you have good study skills you will excel in the course. If he taught the other courses I needed I would def pick him, I had the best time in his class!
Professor A is a great teacher. Be prepared to study extensively after class. If you put in the work, it will show. If you do not understand anything at any point, I encourage you to go to office hours and Chem Harbor for additional help. He wants his students to succeed in his class. He also throws out a few dad jokes throughout his lectures.
Professor A was amazing! He truly cared for his students and was always there to help when we needed help. I enjoyed lectures and labs, especially with all his jokes, the course is difficult but if you put in the work you can do great! Would 10/10 take again.
For it being an 8:00 am class I sure enjoyed attending! I would say it was one of the harder courses I have taken but with the work put in you can pass. He is always there to help and is great at what he does. Appreciate his teaching style and all his jokes! Take him!!
This was a difficult class but the professor gave us the keys to success in this class. He provides printable slides for every chapter and goes over every chapter thoroughly and makes it easy to understand. I recommend coming to office ours, coming to every lecture and participate. Do this and you should easily get an A or B. I was in ChemV30MW

Honestly this class was one of the hardest I have taken & this subject is not to be taken lightly. Professor Alawdi is cool, funny, & provides good feedback. I go to school full time & work full time & was still able to get a passing grade but I had to put a lot of hours in. Just don't procrastinate and you will pass his class! You got this!
Each individual chapter includes a lecture, online homework, and an online quiz. For every 3-4 chapters, he will have an exam and allowed a 3x5 notecard! Somewhat helpful in office hours, a bit intimidating at first but very chill and down to Earth and makes funny jokes during lecture. You WILL have to study a lot to feel confident during exams.
This class was definitely not the easiest but Professor Alawdi was always offering extra help for those who needed it. There was homework and a quiz weekly but very doable. He made lectures fun with his jokes and overall I enjoyed taking this class. This was for his ChemV30 M/W class and if you want, also take his lab class! It's alot of fun!
Professor A is very knowledge. His class strictly started on the dot, so being on time definitely matters. Attendance is mandatory, otherwise you will get behind on material. He lets you have a 3x5 note card for exams, take advantage! Overall it was a challenging class but putting in time to revise material will help you.
Take this lab class with his lecture, the content will make more sense! Prof. Alawdi makes his lab fun and you'll enjoy the experiments and the people you meet there. He goes over the experiment so you will understand what to do. There is a weekly quiz on the previous lab/lecture content so make sure to review.
CHEMV30 MW Great professor. He is very understanding and empathetic. He gives clear lectures and is available after class. He cares about his students and wants everyone to pass. Attendance is mandatory which is understandable, considering the tough subject. He does not use textbooks and I believe his method of teaching is very effective.
I would 100% recommend this prof. He has a very clear method of teaching and is willing to clarify anything that you don't fully understand. Very patient, caring, and understanding. He made this subject seem a lot less difficult than it truly is. His lab is great as well. He keeps his lectures humorous and fun.
Class Chem V30 T/TH Professor A is a good professor he knows how to teach. He also has the slides available for you to print; all you have to do is fill in the blanks. He offers office hours take advantage he can help you out. One complaint I have is that he should take a little less time on each slide but other than that he's a great professor.
Always on time, it is distracting to be late and not very respectful. Lectures are somewhat heavy but educational. Great source to prepare for exams. Participate in class and get involved. Ask questions if you don't understand something. Has good office hours. It was hard, but helped me understand what he was teaching.
i enjoyed how he presented the information, and his mnemonic devises he uses. that being said the homework site aktiv is a P.O.S. if i get a question wrong it doesn't tell me how to fix it.
Excellent lectures and grades fairly in my opinion. It is important to take the class seriously and focus on the material. Though the one negative is the Aktiv homework and does not always tell you what to review when you get questions wrong but you can simply ask the professor and he will be happy to help out.
T-TH Mr. A is awesome. We laughed a lot of the time. He definitely threw hints at us of the important material to know for the tests. Be in class on time and DO NOT miss a class or you will be lost. Help is always available if you need it. Read the chapters BEFORE lecture so it will help you understand the material during lecture (my bad I didn't)
Monday-Wednesday class. Chemistry is very challenging. If you want to take this class DO NOT PROCRASINATE. Homework has to be submitted on time since he doesn't allow an extension. He is funny and is there to help you. Go to office hours or tutoring if you are having trouble. Attendance is mandatory and if you miss a class it will hold you back.
Chem v30 TTh 1.This is a very condensed class. It is inorganic, organic, and biochem all in one, but he is very organized. 2.Always be on time. He starts on the dot. 3.HW and quizzes are done online. 4.The book is not required but it does help. 5.this class prepares you for physiology and microbiology (which are way more difficult)
CHEMV30 T-TH: Professor A is funny, fair & great! I recommend to not take more than 3 classes aside from this one as you will have to dedicate time to studying. Super organized all homework & quizzes on canvas (hw & quiz for each chapter). There are 4 exams in total and the study guides are accurate/reliable. DO NOT miss lecture you'll fall behind.
Professor A is a great professor!! He really wants his students to succeed. He offers office hours and will slow down and answer questions during class if things get confusing. The class is very lecture heavy and you will fall behind if you miss class because it is fast-paced. Homework and quizzes are online and the exams are in person.
Professor A is a really caring teacher who is very passionate about his work and it shows. It is important to show up to class everyday as not doing so may cause you to fall behind. However he does make it worth it with his humor and passion and while it may be difficult material he makes it very digestible.
Professor Alawdi is great at keeping the class engaged and making appropriate references to understand the information given in the lectures. It is clear that he wants his class to succeed but you have to be willing to put in the work. He gives you resources you need and makes it impossible to fail.
This class was pretty difficult and fast-paced but manageable if studied all the material. Professor A was helpful with any questions we had, I recommend going to his office hours. The exams do weight a lot on your grade so keep that in mind. If you slack you won't pass. If you miss a day you will miss a good chunk of material.
Attending every lecture is crucial to avoid falling behind. Reading the textbook can provide a deeper understanding(Texts book is optional but not required). Printing lecture notes is recommended, if you don't print the lecture before hand, its as bad as not going at all. Missing a lecture can lead to self-teaching which is 2x harder. Good Luck!
Chem V30 is quite difficult; the lectures are fine, but there is a lot of material to cover. In addition, if you don't comprehend the lecture topic, the homework and quizzes might be difficult. Due to the amount of content you have to cover and the difficulty in gaining a clear understanding of what to study, I found the tests to be challenging.
Chemistry V30 was a really difficult class. Your grade is primarily based on four exams, with a make-up exam to replace your lowest graded exam taking place on the final day. He gives approximately one hour and fifteen minutes for each exam, which has 35 to 40 questions. For Homework he assigns 50 problems every week.
I was in Professor Alawdi's ChemV30 M/W class and overall the experience was alright. Most of your grade is based on 4 exams throughout the semester and they are not to be taken lightly. You definitely have to stay on top of the work or you'll fall behind. If you have a full time schedule, I wouldn't recommend taking this class,it's time consuming.
This course is heavy and demands a certain amount of focus and should be given high priority while taking this class. Professor A cares about the success of his students and will help but you have to put in the time. He is extremely smart and speaks from clear understanding of the subject. Homework is heavy but helpful and beneficial for exams!
Your letter grade in this class will be a reflection of the amount of time that you choose to spend studying. Professor A's V30 is very challenging, but he is a great teacher. Keep in mind that if you choose to take this course, you must be prepared to dedicate time and effort. If you remain consistent throughout the semester you will be do well.
Great Professor! Goes pretty fast through some material but the slides you fill out are great tools. Helps immensely if you participate in the questions he asks. T,Th
CHEMV30T,Th This class was an eye-opening experience to push you for the better. Chemistry is hard read to understand the heavy lectures & study or you won't pass. Homework every week and quizzes, New material weekly so keep up! He's pretty strict and no late hw allowed,4 Exams(STUDY). I've had a learning experience. Thank you Professor A.
He is a great Professor, and just need the notes we're on the canvas page the next day if we didn't get them all.
T-Th This class is extremely hard. You have to be ready to put in the time studying, reviewing, and preparing for exams. If you can stay consistent you can do well no matter what kind of student you are. With that said, if you don't put in the time you probably will not pass. With that said, I highly recommend Professor A and specifically his V30
This class was fairly difficult. Lectures are very important try not to miss them. Professor A is very kind and takes his grading very seriously, he is not flexible with grading.
This class is time consuming and it will require your time and effort. I appreciated how a textbook is not required because all of the material is covered in lecture. His lectures are well organized and he has office hours four times a week to get your questions answer. Overall, it is a difficult class but manageable.
Very great teacher, despite my grade and personal issues, I appreciate him a lot for being understanding in ways without needing to ask for the finer detail. Lectures are important, so if you miss one you miss either a full chapter of notes, or a good portion of notes. Overall great teacher and I hope to be in a better headspace to actually pass.
I took his chem V30 for the spring semester of 2023, this is a class in which you have to show up every day and really study and be ready to put in extra hours to really understand the material because if you miss some information, you will be behind.
Need to have decent studying habits; class difficulty was semi-difficult. Doesn't admire late students, but allows you to sign in after lectures. Has office hours at end of lectures around 10am. Gives good and plentiful of examples so students have an understanding of the concepts. I would 100% take his class again if I could! He was very funny.
Heavy lectures lot of material, be sure to go back to your notes and review before homework, he has office hours but was not confident in asking for help.
Chemistry is one of those funneling classes, you really have to dedicate yourself to the material if you want to succeed. Professor A. does a good job of explaining any and all concepts but you do have to hold yourself accountable for your comprehension of the material. Utilize his office hours and don't be afraid to make mistakes!
It's a tough subject overall. If you do not have the time to dedicate to it, do not take it. Your grade is mostly based on the exams and quizzes. Great, fun, professor.
He is good at explaining and is organized. Expects you to be on time for his class. If you take his class make sure you have time to do homework and the quizzes and to study for the test or else you wont pass. Overall I liked his class and I do recommend him.
He a nice professor, but he goes way too fast in lectures, & top it off he told everyone to give him a good feedback for extra credit. Just for 5% of extra credit, from points that he deducts from homework if you get it wrong. Lab if he doesn't sign it, he makes you come in on Wednesday to correct your lab before he signs it and turn it in canvas.
Professor Alawdi is kind, knowledgeable, passionate and excels in teaching. You can get a good grade by throughly going through the lectures and engaging in the course work. Theres a lot of quizzes in the lab but only test in lectures but homework for both. Decent amount of work in this class but very manageable. Highly recommend for any class !!
This professor is okay.. IF you're a slow learner and prefer a detailed and understandable work ethic this is not for you. The homeworks and assignments are not bad but the quizzes can be pretty tough. DO NOT take this class if you have not started your lecture class yet! I regret having lab way earlier than lecture because now I'm pretty behind.
Professor A has been by far my favorite professor at Ventura College. I highly recommend him. He is not a hard professor, the subject is a challenging one but he as a professor will teach you absolutely everything you need to know. He wants you to pass participate in class go to office hours do your work review study guides and you'll easily pass!!
The professor is a great person himself, he was funny, but when it came to teaching, he wasnt the most approachable, the class is very lecture heavy, and his exams are very rigorous, he isn't very flexible, and gave lots of homework as wells as a lot of pre/post lab work, it was difficult to come to him about situations and he would be seem snarky.
Professor A was my first o-chem professor, one of my favorites at VC! His lectures are heavy, studying is mandatory if you wish to pass with a high grade. There are only 4 exams throughout the course with a heavy grade percentage; online homework/quizzes weekly but are not challenging to complete. Professor A makes it clear he wants you to succeed.
extra credit. provides a schedule of all assignment due dates during the semester. the class is well structured. you need to attend class to understand the material. his lectures are really good, he simplifies difficult concepts. this class is for students who are disciplined.
One of my favorites! Eager to help you & lecture is heavy but he is organized & engaging. Lots of material & info so dedication is key. Four exams total & a homework, worksheet, & quiz weekly. Allows a makeup exam at end of semester. Office hours available & accessible by email. Highly recommend taking class if you are willing to put the work in.
Professor A made this difficult course easier than some might expect. He turned very difficult concepts into easily understandable ones. You will have to study outside class and exams may be hard but not impossible. There is homework/worksheets/quizzes however if you are on top of it, its not difficult. No textbook required.
Professor Alawadi prints our PowerPoint slides for you to fill in the blanks, this honestly makes note-taking a lot easier and allows you to focus on things that matter. Questions for his exams usually come from the worksheet or the quizzes so always keep those handy as a study guide.
One of my favorite science professors. He's caring and has great humor. Don't miss the lectures because you'll definitely be behind! You can tell he wants his students to pass and genuinely understand his content. Prof. Alawdi would even go into further detail if he sensed his students were confused. Overall, I'd take his class again.
A lot of your grade depends on how well you do on his weekly quizzes, but that's the most difficult part of his class. He explains his labs so clearly and they're easy to finish. He really cares about his students and is easy to approach if you have questions. Taking his lab really helped me understand my lecture material too.
Professor A is really thorough in his lectures. He has 4 exams and they are all straightforward. His explanations are really great in that he makes sure you understand the foundations. I would highly recommend taking this prior to physiology and cellular biology because a lot of the info crosses over, but is explained thoroughly in this class.
The class has 4 exams, each exam covering roughly 2-3 chapters of material. He provides lecture notes that are filled out during lecture which are straight forward and easy to digest. He assigns homework on the chapter and a take home worksheet. He keeps the material light and easy to understand with relatively little difficulty. Very fun class
Professor A. was an amazing teacher. He not only made the course itself very manageable but also very clear. Looking back on the class itself it was pretty difficult but during his lectures he finds a way to make it easier to understand. No textbook required and 4 exams with the final being a replacement exam for the lowest score out of the first 3
Professor Alawdi was a great teacher but he sometimes gets off-tracked from the lecture. The course was lecture-heavy, but would take him again!
Professor A. was a really good teacher with great teaching skills. He seems to put difficult subjects into his own words that make it easier to understand. This class does require you to study quite a bit! Would take again!
He is an excellent professor and loves what he does. My lack of studying and getting distraction on other foolish things caused me to get the grade I got. Loves Naruto.
Took his CHEM V30 Lab. I read all the rete professor comments. That is why I chose this professor. He is a horrible professor who always leaves the lab unattended. He is always on the phone. He gets mad when you ask for help. He gives a mean look at you. He expects you to know the lab when you walk in and doesn't warn you the safety precautions.
I took Professor A for Chem V20 and V01A with both labs. He's nice, funny, and willing to help if you have a question. He is strict with HW and deadlines, as long as you do all them you'll be fine. HW and practice helps on tests which were hard, so go over past quizzes and pre-labs because they'll probably be on there too
His exams are hard and the lectures are pretty extensive. There's a lab quiz every week and he scolds you if you don't get the material right away. not approachable. too much hw and the hw score counts towards your grade.
He judges you if you dont get the material right away. His exams are extremely hard. Theres pop quizzes every week in lab. Whenever I asked him a question, he gives you a mean look and judges you if you dont understand the material. The homework is tedious to do. Wouldnt take again.
